We just called to have a delivery to our address we are 1/2 mile north of 285 just 2 blks off Kipling in Lakewood. The man who answered the phone would not deliver to us because we are so close to his delivery limit area, yet within it, because....he is too busy tonight. Since 2012, I have been a loyal customer. However, this is the second time that this restaurant has refused to deliver because they are having a busy night...Today was my anniversary, my husband is going thru chemo and radiation that I drive him to each day and I JUST DID NOT WANT TO COOK TONIGHT. Thanks dude, you just lost 2 valuable customers!
(1)Stephanie M.
Good pizza - I get the margarita without sauce and the garlic knots - so good! The caprese salad was only ok. Love that they deliver and it's always fast.
(4)Joshua W.
5 stars. Classic pizza place. Cheap, fast, and super dank. Good sauce, cheese, and dough made in a traditional bakers pride deck oven. Love it. $6 for a 12" pepperoni is the best deal in town by far.
(5)Julie F.
So happy this place is close by! Def nice having great pizza again after living in the south for awhile where it really wasn't great. Fast and friendly service, and awesome pizza!! Looking forward to trying what else they have.
(5)Melissa C.
I got delivery from here, and it was okay. I did appreciate the generous toppings, quick delivery, and fresh, hot pizza. The flavor was the missing component, as was the whole "new York" aspect. I've had New York pizza, and this was not it. These were small little pieces and there wasn't enough cheese. The crust did have a nice, buttery flavor. The pie, overall, however, just wasn't seasoned well.

This place is disgusting. They have no concept of customer service. We live in lakewood and have tried to eat at this place many times. The food is decent but i will not tolerate the customer service any longer. On 3 separate occasions we have gotten the wrong delivery order. Twice we have received cold food. Once the delivery driver hit our car in the driveway requiring $4,000 of body work that they were forced to pay for. And just today we tried to go to the location for lunch. I ordered a "hero" as they call it and my wife orders a salad. 5 minutes after we order they bring her the salad. 25 minutes go by and she is done eating and still no hero. I approach the counter and I'm told its on the way. 10 mintues later they come to me and say o I'm sorry we forgot to tell you we are out of chicken. 35 total minutes (total time) later after they confirmed my sandwich was on the way I'm told they are out of chicken for chicken parm subs. Then the manager has the balls to tell me to F off, refuses to give me his name when i ask and gives me an attitude because i want my money back! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO BACK. I have also created a Facebook page describing this incident. Truly disgusting service for a place that has decent food
(1)Robert W.
This place has deteriorated quite a bit over the past year (it's June, 2015). Incredibly, they don't take delivery orders after 7:30 pm. People on the phone don't know their own menu, for example the caprese salad most definitely does come with garlic bread. I used to really like this place, but they need to get their act together, their equipment fixed, their attitude improved.
(1)Brandy D.
I'm from the east coast and after moving here found the pizza to be lacking. Then I found Johnny's in Lakewood! I have to say, for cheap "pizzeria" style pizza this place is always consistent and never leaves me feeling bad like usual greasy pizza can. On top of that, the service is constantly friendly. Nothing is worse than calling up a place to order delivery or take out to have to deal with someone who is nasty and doesn't get your order right. Not Johnny's. Every order I've had (and it's a lot) has always been 100% accurate and the service always friendly. The ingredients are fresh, the pizza yummy and the people friendly.
(5)Jana A.
I work in the area and I thought their pizza was pretty good, the delivery was fast and it wasn't super expensive so all around a pretty decent place to grab lunch!
(4)Helen C.
This place has the best Pizza in Town! The food is always great, the drivers are always fast and happy! And the food always arrives really Hot! The garlic knots are some of the best I've ever had and the prices are crazy reasonable! Also their calzones are that of New York Dreams! Give this place a shot and you will not be disappointed!
(5)Chad W.
The food is is great and I love the thin crust style pizza! Lunch specials make it a must stop if you're in the area. I'm a fan of the salad with the exceptionally well prepared garlic knots.
(5)Crys A.
We went in for a couple of slices, one pepperoni, one just cheese. Both were okay in terms of flavor, but were so oily that I literally had grease all over my hands and plate. Not objectionable, but not outstanding, either. I guess I'd try it again if I were in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way for this pizza, for sure.
(3)J R.
Pretty good pizza. Like the crust. Margarita is my fav so far. They deliver :) always a bonus.
(4)Juan Antonio P.
The pizza is so amazing I love it there and the types of pizza they have is so good and it's like new York themed with the local schools around them hahahayayaha

Can I give a zero star rating? I guess I can't, so one star it is. This review is based on nothing but the customer service as I have yet been able to stay on the phone with them long enough without getting hung up on to order food. I called for delivery and when I gave them my address, the lady on the phone stated, "our cutoff is Hampden" and immediately hung up. Mind you I live literally one block south of Hampden. I called back to see if I could pay a surcharge and if not, I can come in and pick up the order. After the associate picked up my call, I asked nicely, "is there a way we can pay a delivery surcharge for one block?" Unfortunately there was no response, and what was next? You guessed it, the clicks and echoes of the phone hanging up on me. I couldn't even get to the point where I could place a pick up order, just an immediate hang up... no response, no nothing. You expect just a decent level of customer service, I mean, just the minimum level... and what you get is service akin to disturbing pungent body odor. This is one of the biggest dining bafflements of my life. I just want to be able to be on the phone with them for more than 12 seconds. One day... maybe one day, the lady on the phone will let me order. But until then, the intensely stupid, tortuous service is a disappointment to me.
(1)Me M.
NOT NY STYLE AT ALL. Ordered pie with mushrooms, onions and meatball. Toppings were chopped up like ingredients in a cobb salad. Blessing of meatball, barely any cheese, tons of mushroom, and smelly red onion. Crust looked and tasted like bland frozen pizza. Did i mention it was dry and tasteless, except for the old onion that the smell of hit me in the face when opening the box?
(1)Nikole G.
Best pizza in Denver hands down!! Sauce is always great and crust is always cooked perfectly. I've yet to get a pizza or garlic knots from here and be disappointed in them.
(5)Amanda G.
Love Johnnys! Pizza is always delicious and they have great customer service , everyone is always so nice!
(5)Daniel F.
Excellent Service, Friendly Faces and a Delicious Pizza. Also the garlic knots are really good as well, will need more sauce next time... girlfriend loved it, will be back.
(5)Danielle S.
Teeny place in a strip mall - looks like the kind of place where you probably wouldn't want to eat, but once you get in there, it's a great atmosphere. I was greeted by a lovely young woman who directed me to the counter to pick up my order. Once there though, I stood there ignored while the girl on the phone finishing up a phone order. There was another girl standing around, plus the greeter (which was nice but kind of unnecessary), so I was a little dismayed that I had such a nice greeting and then had to sit there while the one person who could use the register was on the phone. Once she got off the phone and called up my order, it was quick and easy and very nice. The pizza was ok. Husband says he wouldn't order it again, and maybe I wouldn't either, but we ate the whole thing and it wasn't bad. It is definitely NY style though (as far as this Chicago girl can tell), so expect a soggy center that you have to fold.
(3)Monique L.
The first time we ordered from Johnny's it was for delivery. It was really good! I absolutely love love love pizza (I'm a cheese and bread junkie), but I'm not a NY pizza snob. If you're looking for someone to give a review from that standpoint, I'm not your girl. I like thin crust (which is what they have at Johnny's NYP to state the obvious), but I'm not going to turn down a slice of yummy thick crust either. The second time I went into Johnny's rather than delivery. It was the middle of the afternoon since my kids wanted to go there after loving the dinner a few nights earlier. It is in a horrible looking little strip mall. I never like to judge a book by its cover so I decided to go for it anyways. Besides... nicer location means higher rent which means more expensive pizza. From the outside you would think it would be yucky on the inside, but when you walk in it is actually a decent little pizza joint. Cheesy but cute murals, glass front kitchen view, and the best part... extremely friendly people working there. I dislike patronizing places where the employees seem unhappy. I hope I'm not wrong... but they seemed like they were not miserable! There was a really nice woman there with an adorable child. I believe she either worked there or is related to the owner somehow. She asked if she could snap a pic of my son and I for the website. I said no, and then felt guilty. What can I say... I moved here from Los Angeles county less than three months ago. It's such an unfriendly, mean, expensive, competitive place that no one would ever ask me such a thing without some sort of shady reason behind it. If I could go back in time I would have let her. :) Inside there are two booths, a couple tables and some half booths. You place your order at the register, take a number, and they bring the food to your table. There are several lunch specials to choose from which is great for when I get the "can we go to johnny's pleeease!!!" from my son. The rest of the menu is decently priced. The garlic knots are amazing. Not exactly great from a dietary standpoint, but live a little. They're worth it. Just oily enough without being too greasy and plenty of garlic flavor. The pizza is good. I usually ask for light sauce since my family is not keen on anything tomato (I could eat a tomato raw, cooked, steamed, thrown at the wall...) and they always do it right. The cheese is really good. It is real mozzarella - you can taste the difference when cheese is super cheap. I have had only a few toppings - and they were all good. People who review pizza and say that it is greasy make me laugh. It's pizza. Have you not cooked anything with cheese before? Guess what... cheese is greasy when cooked! Ugh. Go eat a salad. I personally find it strange that some pizza is not greasy... it's suspect to me. As long as the crust is not soggy it's no problem for me. I usually dab pizza a little with a napkin anyways. Speaking of salads though... the salads are not bad! I was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is that the last time we ordered the family special, the salad was so small inside the container that my husband and I actually laughed at it. It was enough for a child. Johnny's is definitely our "go to" pizza place when we don't feel like cooking. I really dislike big chain pizza so finding this place was a score.
(4)Our Y.
Good pizza. Calzone was great too.
(4)Mandi S.
We have had them mess up our order 3 different times. The food is blan and crappy service. They will no longer have our business
(1)Mr. M.
Since moving to Lakewood three years ago, Johnny's has been our go to pizza place. I placed an order on my way home from work: two slices of cheese and a meatball grinder. I was told it would be 25 mins for carry out which was about as far away as I was. I arrived about 5 minutes early, paid for my food and began waiting. After waiting for 20 more minutes, the owner called my name. You could see my food was just sitting there for awhile, even though I heard repeated conversation about my order. The guy standing next to me even said, "Wow! It was sitting there the whole time!" When I got home, I was shocked that it was actually cold. Not warm, but cold. What a disappointing end to my day. I won't be back for awhile. I'd rather drive a little further to Frontroom Pizza. They are way better in all aspects.
(1)Jason M.
Johnny's is great! I love the food and the service is fantastic as well. Even the chefs are really friendly. I have never had a bad experience here, and I would highly reccomend this place to anyone looking for a delicious, inexpensive italian meal! I decided to order a calzone tonight and it did not dissapoint. Give Johnny's a try, you will be happy you did!
(5)LaRee J.
This place was great a few years ago. They have obnoxious teenagers working who have no customer service skills. The food was awesome not so great anymore:( garlic knots has them beat in my opinion.
(1)Jaclyn M.
Great price, great food. We love the caseys favorite pizza, the sauce and meatballs are suppppperr good. The only drawbacks are: no loyalty program (they do have coupons and again prices are very reasonable) and relatively small delivery radius. However the food is worth the drive. We are from new england and ny area so we are happy to have good pizza here in denver.
(5)Taylor S.
Never had a problem with this place! The food's pretty inexpensive, tastes good, service has always been fine. Delivery takes a while so you generally should pick it up yourself. If you're looking for relatively cheap, non-chain pizza in the area, this is a good bet.
(4)Justinian H.
We ordered an XL Margherita Pizza for takeout on a Friday night. The pizza was ready when I got there and the people were nice. When we opened the box at home, we were really disappointed. They really, really skimp on the toppings, especially the Mozzarella. Only half of the slices had any Mozzarella cheese on them. The rest had some grated parmesan, a little bit of basil and a really thin layer of sauce, but no mozzarella. The slices with cheese on them were tasty, but I'm not going to order from here again.
(2)matt m.
Always good. Always 5 star service. Try the Italian salad. They're homemade balsamic dressing is the best I've ever had!
(5)Erik L.
I like pizza Steve. On that Multiplicity reference, I gotta tell you that this pizza is better than the chains in every way. My wife is from NY and this is the closest to an authentic neighborhood NY pizzeria in Denver. The dough is great (order it crispy - the best) and the sauce and ingredients are fresh. The thing that sets this place apart (I'm about to give away how much we order from them) is that out of the blue, they will tell us that the order is "on-da-house". The delivery is fast and friendly and the pizza and calzones are delicious! We order a chicken, spinach and mushroom pie 90% of the time with a salad - the new summer gorgonzola salad is freakin' awesome! Thanks for starting your business in Lakewood and please NEVER leave.
(5)Ty S.
A buddy invited me to go to Johnny's for lunch. So of course the first thing I do is check Yelp reviews and they're at both ends of the spectrum. Lunch was stromboli, garlic knots, wings, and sausage. My buddy raved on the stromboli (said anyplace that serves stromboli is a place you need to come back to). My hot wings and sausage were good, though nothing exceptional. The knots were fresh and hot. There were about 6 to 10 customers and the service was excellent. They brought the order to the table, hot and ready. At two different guys checked on us a couple of times, asking if everything was okay. So I'm not sure when the people with the really negative reviews come in but I'm guessing not a weekday lunch. I'd go again, the pizza by the slice (nope I'm not from NY so can't give you an opinion there) is my next order.
(3)Courtney D.
My boyfriend and I have been in a couple times for slices. There really isn't a good pizza place that delivers to us, and we haven't tried delivery yet, but the staff was friendly so we might soon. Plus it's air conditioned and has lots of seating space, and is about a 3 minute drive from us. Oh and they use real jalapeños! Thank god for that, I hate those nasty, nacho/bland jalapeños.
(5)Katie H.
I first tried Johnnys because it was the closest pizza place to my house and now I'm hooked! The pizza is great, NY style crust and quality ingredients - but lets talk about the garlic knots. I could eat an order of garlic knots alone and be happy. Soft, garlicky, buttery goodness with warm pizza sauce to dip them in. Johnnys has reasonable prices and always has deals going. Delivery can take longer than other chains, they usually say 45 minutes but sometimes arrive in less time. I would suggest pick-up if youre close by AND theres a liquor store right next door with a pretty awesome wine selection to make it a nice date night!
(5)Jon S.
Wow - don't bother calling even if your are minutes from closing. - Guy answered and did even greet me as a customer. Just said "Johnnys in Lakewood, sorry we are closed" than hung up... couldn't believe
(1)Ryan K.
Ordered a couple times while in CO and they were perfect! Super friendly workers answered the phone and both deliveries were within 40 minutes. Pizza was awesome as well as the $6 Meatball Parm sandwich. Definitely a great pizza place for their pricr
(5)Mike H.
Ok so my wife and I are originally from the East Coast, so we are very familiar with New York style pizza. We were visiting the area for the first time after a couple of great days seeing the sites we were pretty whooped and just wanted to get delivery to our hotel room. We read the reviews and thought this place sounded great. Apparently the majority of great reviews had been to a dispensary first. This my friends is not New York style pizza. This is closer to Jack's frozen style pizza, and that is being nice. First the crust was horrible, I would guess it's not homemade and hand tossed. It tasted like some box mix like chef boy r d and rolled out. The crust around the edge had the taste and consistency of cardboard. The crust underneath, soggy, doughy, and not cooked well. Then there is the lack of any kind of red sauce. Who ever heard of a New York pizza without red sauce, unless it was a white pizza. We ordered Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, black olive and green pepper, with extra cheese. If we hadn't ordered extra cheese I'm not sure any would have been on it. The sausage had the consistency of Taco Bell beef, you know the mainly filler and no meat. The difference was Taco Bell meat still has flavor. The 4 pepperoni were decent, and finally, I don't think the veggies were put on until the rest of it was done baking. In a couple of weeks I am returning to Lakewood, guess which Pizza place I won't be going to? This is one of those times I wish you could leave a negative number. I would rate a Minus 1. The only positive feedback I can give, is the delivery was pretty quick.

Good pizza. Calzone was great too.

We have had them mess up our order 3 different times. The food is blan and crappy service. They will no longer have our business

(5)Ryan K.
Ordered a couple times while in CO and they were perfect! Super friendly workers answered the phone and both deliveries were within 40 minutes. Pizza was awesome as well as the $6 Meatball Parm sandwich. Definitely a great pizza place for their pricr
(5)Jon S.

(3)Jana A.
I work in the area and I thought their pizza was pretty good, the delivery was fast and it wasn't super expensive so all around a pretty decent place to grab lunch!
(4)Mike H.
(5)Bobby B.
(1)Chad W.
The food is is great and I love the thin crust style pizza! Lunch specials make it a must stop if you're in the area. I'm a fan of the salad with the exceptionally well prepared garlic knots.
(5)S G.
(5)Helen C.

(5)Justinian H.
(2)LaRee J.
(4)Juan Antonio P.
The pizza is so amazing I love it there and the types of pizza they have is so good and it's like new York themed with the local schools around them hahahayayaha
(4)Crys A.
(4)matt m.
Always good. Always 5 star service. Try the Italian salad. They're homemade balsamic dressing is the best I've ever had!
(5)Tee T.

Let me start this by saying that I am not a fan of east-coast pizza so the whole "pie" thing is lost on me. I do like their calzones and my husband who is an east-coaster enjoys the pizza. The pasta dishes are good and those who like the knots are right, they are tasty most of the time. The salads are a little basic but this isn't a salad kind of place. My big problem with this place is the fact that they can't get an order right. For instance, we ordered a large cheese pizza and baked ravioli with meatballs and ended up with a sausage and chicken pizza and ravioli with no meatballs. This is the third time they have screwed up an order (I know, why did we give them 3 chances? They are close to home and convenient) so I won't be going there again. I'll be trying the new "Garlic Knot" store which is less convenient but might employ smarter people. UPDATE: Talked to a manager about the situation and he promised to make it right on the next order so I guess we'll try again. What's the definition of insanity???

Tried this place out for the first time on Sunday. My friend and I stopped in and placed an order for one x-large pizza. I figured we would be out of there in 20 or 30 minutes. To make a long story short the pizza had been ready for quite a long time before somebody realized it wasn't for delivery and was for us. Then we noticed the pizza had the wrong ingredients on it before we left. They realized what the goof was and got to work quickly on a new one. A short time later we left with the correct pizza and they gave us the other one for free as an apology. They were all very sorry about the mistake, and really didn't have to offer us the other pizza, but it was really nice of them to do. Good customer service is always appreciated. And how was the pizza? Delicious. Everybody that had a slice of it really enjoyed the hell out if it. Huge slices and generous amounts of ingredients. Not super greasy and just crispy enough. Loved it. I will be back for sure.

One of the best pizzas in town, state, and country. Staff is beyond friendly, the owner(s) actually work with their crew and seem genuinely thankful for your business. Food is awesome, prices are good, and I look forward to pizza night with these guys. To those that complain, try talking to a manager here; they get it straightened out right then, no questions asked. A+

My roommates and I were hungry and we wanted pizza. Not feeling like getting a pizza from the run of the mills pizza places that we are constantly bombarded with, I looked on here for somewhere near and cheap. I checked out their menu online and decided to order a large Fish's Favorite (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and black olives) and their Garlic Cheesy Bread. They told me it would be half an hour and I was cool with that. Forty five minutes later, I was starving, but the pizza finally arrived. The pizza was pretty tasty, I liked it. The cheesy garlic bread was funny. They have essentially taken a loaf of french bread, cut it in half, spread garlic butter on it, and then toasted it with cheese on top. I'm not saying it was bad or anything, but I probably could of made it myself. After all was said and done, I'll probably order from them again if the mood strikes.

The food is is great and I love the thin crust style pizza! Lunch specials make it a must stop if you're in the area. I'm a fan of the salad with the exceptionally well prepared garlic knots.

(5)Justinian H.
(2)LaRee J.
(4)Juan Antonio P.
The pizza is so amazing I love it there and the types of pizza they have is so good and it's like new York themed with the local schools around them hahahayayaha
(4)Crys A.
(4)matt m.
Always good. Always 5 star service. Try the Italian salad. They're homemade balsamic dressing is the best I've ever had!
(5)Tee T.
(5)Monique L.
(1)Danielle S.
(3)Duane M.
I really like stopping in for a lunch special of a couple of slices. Always a good experience. Picked up a Fish Favorite to try a whole pizza for the first time. Did not look pretty, however it was very good. Ground sausage and pepperoni were very good along with the black olives and mushrooms. Always courteous staff and cool funky CO-NY interior.
(4)Neil W.
Awesome pizza! Johnny is always a pleasure.
(4)Terry L.
Ehh-- Hhmmm what to say. The service was great! And- judging by the accent of the guy at the cash register I'd guess he's from NYC. Friendly and efficient. I ordered two slice/ soda for takeout. Being that I had the pleasure of living in North Bergen, New Jersey a few year's back- I'd say I am qualified to be a NY Style Pizza snob. As for the pizza from Johnny's-- not bad. Not good. Just kind of there. Crust was thin-but average taste and texture at best. Cheese and sauce= kinda bland again. Not really what I look forward to when I decide to treat myself. Don't get me wrong- I've had worse NY style pizza (at Sbarro's in the Apache Mall in Rochester, Minnesota) Mall food aside, I have to regretfully say I'll skip another "opportunity" with Johnny's. I wish this place the best- but I will continue my quest for the BEST New York style Pizza in Denver.
(2)Donny C.
Honestly, I've had better Italian food. But never at this price and convenience. Staff is (usually) friendly and will gladly customize your order as they're able (often at no extra charge). There used to be another Pizza place nearby that everyone raved about and they're food tasted exactly the same and was 3 times more expensive. I'm pleased to say that place is gone and this one is still here. I am a loyal customer that's for sure.
(4)Doug Y.
I'll have to agree with Caroline C about the garlic knots here. There was no air to the dough although I think her taste might have truly been off cause the flavor was okay. Had the knots been sitting around too long? Not enough rise time? Dunno, but we won't order them again. The pizza on the other hand has been very good, we've tried several. Cooked well, topped just right and a decent spice to the sauce. A slight word of warning, the meatball pies have seasoned ground beef on them and not actual meatballs. This is our second favorite pie in the south Lakewood area. So when we're down here and if the lines are too long at our fav (and we don't have to have our knots), you'll find us here.
(4)Caroline C.
Not bad really, just kinda boring. Admittedly, I've got a little bit of a head cold at the moment, but the garlic knots ($3.49 for 12) were heavy, chewy and practically flavorless. The accompanying marinara sauce was completely unremarkable. We chose a 16 inch "Dad's Favorite" pizza (sausage, pepperoni, meatballs; $13.99). The pizza was huge and the price seemed really reasonable but again, there was so little flavor. There was ample cheese and pizza sauce, and the crust was cracker-like but chewy (just how I like it) but there was no yeasty goodness going on, and the meat toppings were pretty bland and ground up much too finely. Overall, I give Johnny's New York Pizza 3.5 stars - I wouldn't say no to going there again, but I can definitely think of better places.
(3)Kate B.
You know what makes this place a head and shoulders above the chain pizza places? They care about the quality of their food and their service in a way that only a small operation can. The owner works nonstop, the staff is always hopping, and they're friendly and nice. The food is good, dependable, authentic. The prices cannot be beat. No, this isn't gourmet fare; this is working-man's food, but it is best of its class in my opinion, and their service is what takes them from average to great. If you haven't had meatball on a pizza before, take my advice and GO FOR IT. :)
(4)Amanda D.
What a dump... First time we ordered, it was okay. Second time we had it delivered, 12$ I handed the delivery boy a twenty and he walked towards the car. I asked for my change and he told me he didnt have any. Ridiculous. Garlic knots? Delicious, if they were not scorched. I mean literally black. Calzone almost as burned as knots. When I opened my food I was so disgusted that i brought it back to the restaurant, where the owner or whatever said that his customers like them burnt and told me to piss off. I hate this place and will be happy to see them sink themselves. I hope California pizza kitchen buys the space. Me thinks KNOT
(1)Ryan C.
The best pizza I've had in Colorado and the prices are fairly low compared to alternatives.
(5)Tom M.
We always Go here to eat Pizza, Really Good food, Love the Spaghetti and Meatballs, have to get a side of it every time We go to get Our Pizza...
(5)Riry P.
The food is great IF I actually got my full order at pick up... instead....when i called - the response was - you can come get it. asked them to deliver it - and the retort was it'll be 45 minutes. so i'm going to eat my baked ziti w/o knots and hope that you guys can make it to me in 45 minutes - AFTER telling the staff that i lived 5 minutes away. When i went to the store to speak to the manager - brandon - i was kept waiting - and he was unempathetic, did not descalate the situation, he made it worse by telling me, oh we could have had them to you in 10 minutes and shoved the missing product in my hand, said that he was going to comp my entire order but since i was yelling, that he's not, and to have a good life. Now my food is COLD, i'm eating soggy pizza, half my food was missing...what a disappointment.
(2)Jack W.
Tied for first as my favorite pizza in the area. Great NY-Style with a great sauce and toppings. The garlic knots are great when they are done right, we have had a couple of bad experiences that I imagine they dumped the entire container of garlic salt on the tray and instead of tossing them in the trash they just brushed them off. However, the issues are few and far between. If you go to a pizza place for the ambiance, I really don't know what to tell you. Service is a little slow at times, even when there doesn't seem to be much going on.
(4)Jaime D.
I just moved to Bel Mar, and had some hungry friends helping me out with the boxes, drinking my booze, and moving a piano, among other things. at the point of my call, I had driven by Johnny's a few times and it caught my eye - I'm always looking for good pizza... I'll keep it simple: the pizza expresses quality in all of the important elements. the sauce is savory, the cheese is real, and the crust is crisp, yet substantial. along with the other tasty and fresh ingredients, they use red onions, which is a subtle improvement that goes a long way. I was impressed after the first bite - great pizza. I'm looking forward to tasting the pasta dishes; I'll update when the time comes. oh, and garlic knots, too. you don't see that too often on this side of the Mississippi. I think I'll hit it for lunch, actually. see you there.
(5)Abby S.
Sadly I just thought this food was mediocre, I didn't try the pizza just the hot sandwiches and the garlic bread.
(2)Jerry N.
My advise the owner/s: Get better toppings! Thumbs up: to the crust. True NY style pizza. Crust is thin and done the right way. Push: Cheese and the tomato sauce are OK. Not bad but not amazing. Thumbs down: the toppings. For their prices, the quality of the toppings should be better. I can not recommend it, but I am not really against the place. You might find something you like. Specially if you like a cheese pizza without toppings (LOL).
(3)Dena G.
I'm a New Yorker so pizza is very important to me. I used to work accross the street and order from Johnny's all the time. Aside from Anthony's, it's the best NY style pizza I've had in the Denver area thus far. I still return from time to time...they have some good lunch specials.
(4)Mrs J.
Their meatball pizza is to die for! Try the knots too. Yum!
(5)J A.
Johnny's gets a solid 4 stars. Now that Virgilio's left the neighborhood, this had returned as my go-to place for NY pizza. Virgilio's was a little better but Johnny's is darn awesome. I've only had the pizza and knots at Johnny's and thier great. I've ordered both whole pies and slices plenty of times. Slices obviously aren't as good as whole pies but Johnny's does great slices. They have great toppings and my favorite is the meatball. Their green peppers are always fresh and bright. The lunch special is fantastic. I think it's like $7 for 2 big slices, one topping, and a drink. A dollar tip at the counter and you're good to go. The hostess delivers food and cleans the tables, so hook her up with at least buck for any out there that usually don't leave a counter tip (sometimes me).
(4)Lauren R.
No. If I have to eat fucking Johnny's pizza one more time during a damned meeting at work, I will kill myself. Consider yourself warned. Greasy, bland, too soft crust. Must I go on? The salad is like something you would prepare for a third grader in order to make him eat his vegetables, and the only redeeming factor of this place is the fact that they have garlic knots. I can forgive almost anybody for their sins if they offer me a garlic knot.
(2)Angeleen N.
Good pizza and decent price. I thought their delivery was pretty slow though.
(4)Kim D.
Friendly and efficient service. Yummy pizza and the garlic knots are simply divine. A great neighborhood restaurant!
(5)Dan D.
I'm from NY, and while the pizza here is decent, I don't think there is enough cheese or sauce, and I agree the pizza is a little bland. Virgilio's tastes a little better in my opinion. However, moving onto the Calzones, I am 100% completely addicted to the ComboZone (as ordered directly off their menu). The thing is a monstrosity, but I always still eat it in one sitting. The cheeses and toppings in there are just right, and you get free potato chips on the side. Make sure they don't forget the marinara though, and watch out for leaking grease cause they only wrap their zones up in aluminum foil. Their staff has always been friendly too. I came a little early for a pickup order one night and was invited to enjoy a free soda while I waited. I'm writing this review while waiting for my delicious ComboZone to be prepared right now!!!!
(4)Gregory P.
Fugettaboutit - Johnny's serves up a real slice of the New York pie. I've been frequenting this place since it opened four years ago and still enjoy it. It's the closest New York-style pizza I've found in this area...I know there are some better in Denver, but my damn job is in Lakewood so I godda do what I godda do!
(4)RUSSELL G.
Good place, good pizza and the Garlic Knots are total east coast right out of Brooklyn. So being from the east coast I appreciate the food and atmosphere. Its not one of these places out there that has no clue about making pizza. The place is clean and they are totally into good customer service. Not a 5 star cause the pizza is not consistently good. Got a pizza there one night and brought it 30 min home to find out it was burnt.
(4)Piglet A.
I really like this place - my favorite for fast cheap, fast, slices at lunch. I come every other week for a couple of slices or a slice/salad combo. The price is right, the service is fast, and the place has some character with murals of New York and occasional deals based on sports outcomes. The booths are getting greasy and I don't understand why the TVs are always on but there is no sound or captions. The pizza is exactly what I expect for thin crust, New York style. They use fresh mushrooms, not canned. They are generous with the toppings. I agree that the salads could be better, but for the price, and style of the restaurant, I don't expect some sort of organic mixed greens with gourmet olives on top. Plus, I can refill my own soda as many times as I want. We order whole pizzas sometimes too and they are consistently good.
(4)Jenn N.
I absolutely love the garlic knots here! They are beyond words. The pizza is good, I just don't particularly love NY style thin crust. The calzones and pasta are very good and I would highly recommend it if you are looking to try something other than pizza.
(4)Tony R.
I heard this was some good NY Pizza. Went in for a slice of cheese. The slice was old and dried out. I think when there not busy they need to throw out slices after a few hours. I did give them another try. The slice was fresher but the green peppers were raw? I really dont like a salad on my pizza. So i knocked the peppers off and it was not a bad slice. So far the slices and pizza at Virgilio's Pizzeria are the best in this town
(2)Bubba D.
This is the best New York style pizza in Denver. It tastes exactly like a slice you can get on a Brooklyn street corner, no more, no less. Very simple and tasty, which is what pizza should be, this place is a lot better than overhyped and overpriced joints downtown.
