So today I was craving a good sandwich. I went to my usual Italian Deli. It's a cute mom and pop place, but they are closed on Sundays. I don't hold it against them, they are a couple of old Italian people. So then I drove by Lenny's. I have seen Lenny's and have always been curious. Went in and it was quiet. There was a lady doing something and a baby on the counter. She said, "are you here to place an order"? Then I was like, "yeah, is that OK?". "We're closed". REALLY??? Geeze, I was getting desperate at this point! Why would a sandwich place be closed on Sunday? I found another place called Firehouse. Being irritated by my search for a good sandwich, I opened the door expecting disappointment and right at that moment, about 4 people said enthusiastically, "Welcome to Firehouse"!!!... WHAT?!?!? Ha, that got me smiling and in an instant, I went from grouchy pessimist among sandwich joints to a raving fan! People who complain about this are the same people who don't like puppies and the same people who don't say hello when you're out for a walk and cross paths. They are the same people who lay on the horn and get into trashy road rage. They are the same people who have "friends", but don't have any friends. You know what I mean? They are the same people who call soda, "pop". I ordered the sweet and spicy meatball sub. Holy dang, it was incredible. So good that I wanted to shout profanities, including a flurry of F-Bombs. It was everything I had hoped - that the spicy really was spicy and it was served almost open-faced with hot mozerella melting on all sides. The sauce was amazing. It was gone in about 2 seconds. I hope these guys keep their energy. If they do, this will become one of the most successful franchises ever! best of luck to everyone at Firehouse!!!

For the love of God will someone explain the fatuation with Firehouse Subs to me? I had heard so many people raving about it and saw that a location was opening on Wadsorth, so I stop for a sub on my way to work. I know it's new and don't expect the employees to be the quickest in the world but a 10 minute wait to place my order with 2 people in front of me was a little much; Jimmy Johns employees should show up just to laugh at them. Then I get the sandwich; who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to steam cold cuts before putting them on bread? The meat came out flavorless and all the remained was the taste of salt that lingered in my mouth for half an hour. It was the most flavorless Itialian sub I ever had, and that includes Subway. It was nothing more than cheap, bland rolls that became soggy from the steamed meat that was dumped on top of it.

The customer service here is phenomenal. The manager asked if I had been here before (I had not) and he explained the options and made some recommendations. I ordered the Italian and our food came out quickly and tasted delicious. The manager and his staff made several rounds through the restaurant making sure everything tasted great. I was blown away by the customer service- it was genuine and sincere and just the right amount. We will be back soon.

Everyone seems to love this place but unfortunately I can not say the same. There is only one vegetarian sub on the menu and it is definitely lacking. Firehouse is clearly unfamiliar to the concept of vegetarianism and assume a vegetarian sandwich is comprised of bread, cheese and massive amounts of lettuce. I also hate the way the whole staff has to scream "Welcome to Firehouse!" When you walk in. It was pretty alarming upon first entering the restaurant and everyone in the place looks at you. It was funny in a pretty bizarre way at first, but then it just became annoying. It's really odd and unnecessary.

After my last review of firehouse received one star, Kingsley contacted me personally to find out about my visit and what he could do to change his store. I am glad to say I have been back since and loved it! Staff Is much better and the subs are back to tasting amazing! Keep up the good work!

I really like the hook & ladder ..problem is we just don't go there very often ... Reason .. I Am not that social & there is nothing more annoying than their greeting..makes me drive right by & go anywhere else .. I will talk when I want to .. But to be bombarded when you enter .. Out ways the good food so I will pass till they change their policy on that !!

Fine subs, fine subs everywhere. Been to a lot of place and this one is on top. I also love the way they took care of their customers here, it feels like I wanna come back everyday here. Firehouse subs are the best!

I love me some Firehouse Subs and this location was clean, friendly, and efficient. Right, as it should be! I love that they give you the cal count (I want to enjoy my delicious indulgence without worrying TOO too much how long I'll be working it off) on their order board, and the "lighter" options sounds worth a shot. Why oh why isn't there a way to get some of the signature subs on the smaller round buns though? Give us the flavor profiles we love with a little less... guilt? That would go a long way... I couldn't order a "safe" sandwich when I know how delectable the hot options are. One more thing: the make-your-own-creation drink machine is a GREAT concept, but it just slows people down. (I've mentioned this before in another review) So be aware of that when you're heading in on a crowded afternoon. On the plus side, it gives you something to focus on aside from how anxious you are to get that first tasty bite on your tastebuds...

Their subs are ok. Their commercials over hype how good they are though. A little pricy too. 10 times better than Subway though. I would say they are on the same level of Quiznos. Its more like Quiznos 2.0.

Knowledgeable staff, fresh ingredients, all cone together to make one of the best sub's I've had, and the meal was under ten bucks! I'm on board.

First firehouse I ever went to was this one. Got the best "WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE" to date. Great sandwiches and gotta love the limitless soda options with the crazy machine.

Great, tasty subs and a super selection of hot sauces. 4 stars for a tasty sandwich Management has imposed an irritating task on the employees - every time a customer enters the establishment one or more staff members yells "Welcome to Firehouse!" During the busy lunch rush it becomes quite irksome to hear this every six seconds. Negative-1 star for this very annoying and tedious behavior.
(2)
Nick L.
Yes Yes Yes the "Welcome to Firehouse!" greeting is slightly annoying. It reminds me of "piece of flare" from the movie Office Space ... It's the corporate policy and if you work there, you're expected to comply with the ridiculous polices. But I'm not there for the overwhelming welcome, I'm there for the sandwiches. The food ... I'm a fan of the Hook and Ladder and Italian. I've had nearly everything on the menu ... I use to work blocks away from a location in Las Vegas ... and they are all pretty damn good. The cheese-steak and meatball are also pretty good, but more on the heavier side. They also have a huge selection of hot sauces to put on your sandwich, I'm a fan of the "house" sauce. I can never really put my finger on the taste, it has parts of BBQ and hot sauce. It's a very good mix of the two. This location is fast, friendly and even offered a few suggestions to my sandwich. All in all I'm a fan of this place, they make a quality/delicious product and a reasonable price.

I've always been a fan of Firehouse Subs. On this visit we stopped in for a little lunch and I chose to get the Cheddar Brisket sub. The sandwich itself is full of delicious barbecue and cheddar flavor and the meat is cooked to just about perfection. Coupled with the fact that the staff are very friendly and the manager at this location takes the time to go around to each table to ensure everything in the experience is on par and Firehouse Subs near Belmar simply can not be beat for a quick lunch or light, quick, no frills dinner.

We just moved to the Belmar area this past weekend and tried out Firehouse Subs by last night. Upon walking in, we were promptly greeted by the staff, which was very nice. We had never been in before so upon approaching the counter, a nice young girl went over all the sandwich options. She was very friendly and informative, and I was quite impressed with her customer service. The sandwiches did take quite a while to be brought out to us. However, the line cook who brought it out was friendly and apologetic for the delay. Things happen, so no problem there. The only downside was that one of the cooks had a few friends hanging out in the restaurant. They were standing at the counter the entire time we were there, being loud and obnoxious. The restaurant was also somewhat dirty, but it was the end of the day and they were probably getting ready to close and clean things up before they left for the day. My wife and I ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch with Banana Peppers. We both agreed it as an EXCELLENT sandwich! I have always enjoyed the Turkey Ranch and Swiss at Quiznos, but the quality of ingredients here was much better. I love a good sandwich, and I was impressed by the quality of the sandwich we had. I definitely see this place as my go to spot for lunch and/or dinner. We will be back!

I absolutely love the subs here. The fresh steamed meat makes the sandwich a cut Above the rest. The people at this particular restaurant are very helpful and are always happy. All I can say I want some of what ever is in the water.

Tried the King's Hawaiian Pulled Pork sandwich. Can you imagine if that was in a sub form? Well it wasn't, but still very very bood! This is my first time getting something here so I'm reserving one star for future visits. If they're all good, then bump it up to five stars, otherwise..... Either way I can't wait to come back!

Rebecca is super friendly and respectful. She greeted me with a smile, answered questions I had about the menu and offered substitutions for things I didn't like. The food is good but I will come back just because of her awesome customer service.

Not sure what all the hoopla is with Firehouse either. Been there a few times now, couple of to go orders they forgot the side pickle, no biggie, just frustrating. Once they forgot to skip the mayo, again, not a huge deal, but frustrating Pros: -The hot sauces (similar to Big City Burrito) are a nice option -Soda machine is cool -Decent hot subs Cons: -"Welcome to Firehouse" saying is kind of annoying when you walk in -Only hot subs - no cold -Attention to detail not the greatest

I didn't have very high hopes for this place... with the kitschy firehouse decor, and annoying greeting "Welcome to Firehouse!" said every. single. time. somebody enters the building. However, as an avid hot sauce lover, their collection of over 30 different kinds makes very excited. I found my 2 favorites, and use one on each 1/2 of my sub...amazing! And, their subs are delicious. My current obsession is the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket. Y-U-M. The beef is super tender and juicy, topped with the sharp cheddar and not-too-sweet BBQ sauce.... yes please. One bite of that sandwich, and I was hooked. I just can't bring myself to order anything else but that. I have had bites of the Italian and Turkey-Bacon-Ranch, both really good. But none can top that Brisket sub.

I went to Firehouse Subs based on ad advertisement that stated "Best Meatball sandwich GUARANTEED!!" , since there was one near were i live in Belmar, I decided to give it a go. I agree - they put alot of thought into what makes a Great Meatball Sub and i was pleased with my experience. I have gone back to the same store many more times for the Meatball Sub and to try new Subs. The reason i gave them one star was the lack of service to the customer. I tried there online ordering, which i ASSUMED would be conveint due to my ability to schedule the time i would pick up my sub and to have already paid for it online..... Just go in on time and pick it up - WRONG. I was charged again for the sub i already paid for, the comment from the clerk " I hate these online orders" did inspire confidence that he knew what he was doing. I pointed out that i was charged twice and a refund was issued and i was on my way with my sub.... WOOO HOO! Not so fast sparky..... When i got home to enjoy my Meatbally Sub, it was made upside down. They cut the bottom of the roll and filled the sandwhich from the bottom and realized the mistake, but instead of fixing it and making it the right way. They just placed the sub bottom side down, so i could not tell. I like Firehouse Subs and decide to complain via there website - explaining the service i had recieved. I was thanked for letting them know of the situation and that someone would contact me to follow up on the complaint. That was THREE WEEKS ago......... I guess my complaint fell on deaf ears??? The only difference from one sub shop to another is service...........................

I love Firehouse. These guys do a great job and serve great food. Kingsley, the owner of this location, does a great job! The restaurant is always clean and everyone is always working hard. I use them for catering and they provide excellent service and fair prices for the quality of food. Keep up the good work!

awesome place. We usually stop there after our weekly meeting it's always so clean, and that's a big deal for me. I love the staff there, they know my name and what I like, especially Alonso, he's the best. but the whole staff is super friendly and welcoming. Don't listen to the butt-faces on this page, the welcome is quirky and fun, The new salads are fantastic, and the times of the year they have Cole Slaw I pretty much live there. It's really nice to sit on the patio in the late afternoon. usually patio furniture at places like this is all gritty and dirty but not here. Plus they bring your food out to you without asking, even if you sit on outside. It's a pretty store in a great location.

This business proclaims "started by Firemen", Firehouse Subs is a good lunch stop. The line can be long, which is a bad thing if you're real hungry, but a good sign if you believe that good restaurants are always busy. The counter service is friendly and they bring your order out to you. The few times I've been in, they got my order right and the staff was very customer oriented. The dining area has been near full each time as well, so plan on getting there early or generally allowing enough time due to the crowds. I like the fresh meats, I like the toasted sandwich idea, plus they have one of those fancy computerized Coke machines that allows you to make a wide variety of beverages with flavor accents. I've tried the meatball sub and the Club on a Sub, both were made of high quality ingredients, prepared fresh, served up hot off the toaster and lived up to the billing on the menu. Too bad there aren't a few more locations closer to the downtown area. If you need to put out the fire of hunger, Firehouse Subs will come to your rescue

"Welcome to Firehouse!" ...Is the annoying greeting you'll get with every patron who walks through the door. Okay, that's my only real complaint about this place. It's a bit over-the-top. Their subs, however, are a cut above the "sub" fare quality of Subway, Quizno's, or Jimmy Johns. Prices are average, about 8 bucks for lunch with chips and drink combo. They have a high-tech "soda" machine that dispenses over 100 different drinks from a single computerized touch-screen. It can be overwhelming particularly if you are indecisive but it's nice to have such an extravagant selection at your fingertips. The wait time is a bit longer than run-of-the-mill sub shop (generally 5-10 minutes), especially if you are getting a hot sub like their incredible meatball sub, so keep that in mind if you are in a hurry at lunch.

I haven't actually eaten the subs here, but I've purchased subs for my husband and father and they've seemed to enjoy them. Plus they have a bazillion hot sauces (though after a quick organization I realized most are the same). What gets me (and what would clearly not fly if these guys were on Undercover Boss) is that when you walk in, they're supposed to say "Welcome to Firehouse!" What I hear instead is, "welcome *welcome* welcome to *to* to firehouse *firehouse* firehouse..." (that's supposed to be multiple people, not in sync, with no enthusiasm). Show me some love people! I don't really feel like you're welcoming me to Firehouse. I feel like you're depressed you're working there and don't really want to make my order.

This is an easy one: great warm subs, friendly staff, cool(ish) theme for a chain, quick service, clean restaurant, and an AWESOME Coca-Cola machine that let's you mix flavors. Life is good.

"WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ...says the overly (OVERLY!!!!!!!!!) happy Firehouse Subs employee EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. someone walks in that door. He's lucky I didn't have anything to throw. Or a squirtgun. That being said, the bread was fresh, and the meatballs on the meatball sub were good texture and flavor, with a good sprinkling of Italian seasoning on top of the Melted Provolone. The prices are in line with other sub shops, so that's cool. The soda machine is like something out of the Jetsons. There's a touch screen and flashing LED lights. It's sort of random, but whatever. They have dozens of hot sauces lining the counter, so if you like a little heat on your sammich, it appears you are all set. Nearly all of the subs are toasted, so if you're a cold-sub kinda gal (like I am) you're pretty much out of luck. You're limited to Tuna or Chicken Salad. Despite that, though, there are a few of the hot subs that appealed to even me. (I'd like to try the Brisket and Cheddar.) The wait for a sub, as mentioned in other reviews, is a bit out of line, especially with "Freaky Fast" Jimmy John's right around the corner. I liked Firehouse, but it's not jumping to the TOP of my Sammich List.

I went on a busy weekday. The wait seemed to be normal for a busy lunch hour, but it was waiting with a bunch of people crowded in a small area that was the bad part. I thought the soda machine was cool, but it was overwhelming to have so many choices. I got my sandwich to go and was home in about 10 minutes. The meat was so wet (from being steamed) that it made my bread soggy and I was unable to eat even of a quarter of the sandwich. I will not be back.

Will ALWAYS drive here for a sub...always so yummy, people are friendly, and restaurant is clean! Get the steamer it's hands down the best sub there!!
(5)
Claude C.
Not a bad sub place overall. They steam their meats and cheeses, which gives them a bit more flavor. There is also a drink machine that offers 120 different soda types. I didn't really care for this as it's one of those good idea/bad idea type situations. The problem lies in that you have so many different flavor exiting the same spout that flavors become contaminated with other drinks. Beyond this, the sandwich that I had was pretty tasty and I will more than likely dine here again.
(3)
Becky R.
While the "Welcome to firehouse" greeting can get a bit annoying for every time a customer comes in, at least they seem to say it with a smile on their face. Wonderful toasted subs!! I wish they had more locations. I was also impressed to see the store manager talking to diners and asking how their meals were. Oh, and I love the Coke infinity machine (or whatever it is called)! This place leaves Subway in the dust!

Firehouse Subs is an amazing sandwich shop. It shouldn't be a surprise to see them spreading like "wildfire." I have visited a two of the Colorado locations, this one in Lakewood and the location in Highlands Ranch. I visited the Lakewood location around 5:30 pm looking for dinner. Having been to the Highlands Ranch location I arrived expecting a giant line. I was quite surprised to see that there wasn't a large line. When you arrive at a Firehouse Subs the employees look up and in unison say "Welcome to Firehouse." Its a nice touch. I walked up to the counter and placed my order and because I was taking my sandwich home I didn't get a drink but they have a nice looking drink station along the back wall. They are still doing training here at this location because it recently opened. So if you go there be kind to the employees and give them a chance. I ordered the Firehouse Meatball as a large which came out to $7.49, comes with Italian meatballs, provolone, Italian seasonings and marinara. I haven't tried it with the sweet and spicy meatball but I plan on trying it next. The meatball is a great sandwich and topped with lots of Provolone and they even ask if you want extra cheese. I haven't had it with extra cheese but if you really like cheese you could. I have also had the Steak and Cheese and the Beef and Cheddar from the Highlands Ranch location Those were also amazing sandwiches. I like going to Firehouse Subs because they aren't like other sandwich shops. They tend to be very generous with the meat and often times it tastes and feels like the sandwich is more meat than bread which is great.

What I had? The New York Steamer (Fully involved) Food review: Welcome to the Firehouse! The employees say that every time you enter a Firehouse Subs and I don't know.. when I hear that sound I know I'm that much closer to which has been the absolute best pastrami sandwich that I've ever had. One of the keys to making good pastrami in my opinion is keeping it moist and the pastrami at Firehouse Subs is absolute perfection. Add all the toppings that come with a sub that is "fully involved" and you have yourself one mighty tasty sub. I was also pleasantly surprised at this particular Firehouse location that it had a Coca-cola fountain machine with over 100 beverages to choose from. In particular, I was wayyy excited to have found Cherry Mellow Yellow which I haven't seen in years. It was just a fantastic visit that really made my day. :-) Service? No complaints

Well, I don't like that they scream WELCOME TO THE FIREHOUSE at you, it isn't genuine and makes me feel awkward, I don't think these subs were any better than any other subshop in town, lots of meat on them so good bang for your buck but SO GREASY! The soda machine in back looks super cool but not enough for me to go back just to play with it.

Best sub sandwiches around. I'm sure loaded in calories, so go for the small one as that will more than fill you up. There are many different sandwich combinations to choose from so there is something for everyone. Great selection of hot sauces to really put the finishing touches on a great sandwich. They are very fast even when there is a huge lunch crowd. I have never had a bad sandwich from this place and will continue to go again. They are a little pricy but worth the extra as subway and quizno's just do not compare to this place.

I love a good hot sub and Firehouse Subs provided for it. I got the Steamer which may not be the most appetizing name, but it was quite the delicious sandwich. The sandwich features corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing. I like all of the toppings though a little less Italian dressing would have been better. My absolute favorite thing though is the soda vending system. Almost every place you go into has 6-10 different sodas to choose from. Their dispenser allows around 120 combinations by adding flavored syrups to the base drink. After playing with the system I decided that Cherry Vanilla Coke Zero was on order and it was tasty. The syrups defeat the purpose of ordering the zero calorie Coke Zero but I will do it again. 4 stars because the subs lean to the expensive side.

Got some some sandwiches for the family and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sandwiches...Ordered 6 sandwiches and was very pleased at the length of time it took to finish them for a "to go" order. Pricing was good too. Overall, excellent experience!! I see other reviews that seem to be annoyed by the greeting as you walk in the door, "Welcome to Firehouse!" Yes, they do it with every patron, but honestly, it's refreshing. There are places I go to everyday that don't even acknowledge I'm there, let alone, GREET me...I love this place and will be making the extra 10 minute drive from my house to get there, over Subway or Quizno's. The Italian is outstanding, by the by...

Pretty darn good food. Staff is so sweet, they hurt my teeth. Subs are a bit on the pricier end, but if you get the right one, you'll never look at the menu again. I like their brisket sandwich, and I know how good it'll be, everytime. I enjoy a good sub, and it is a close walk to their store when I'm in the neighborhood.

I have officially found my favorite place to eat a toasted sub, nestled in upper-class Belmar area, Firehouse Subs delivers one mean sub that I am sure will draw me back again and again. Apparently, founded my firemen, Firehouse Subs has a firefighter theme to the whole joint, which is pretty neat. The subs are phenomenal, I have had the Italian and the Chicken Bacon Ranch and both were amazing. Perhaps the neatest part of this place is that there is a selection of over 30 different hot sauces to choose from that will kick your sandwich up to the next level. I tried a few of them, many of which had a sweet and spicy flavor. Mango habanero tended to be the most common flavor of hot sauce they had, but the selection they offered was very cool. For a great toasted sub, Firehouse is miles ahead of Quiznos, Subway and even Cheba Hut. Give me a shot for lunch you won't be disappointed.

(3)Brittany B.

(3)Patty K.
Knowledgeable staff, fresh ingredients, all cone together to make one of the best sub's I've had, and the meal was under ten bucks! I'm on board.
(5)David L.
First firehouse I ever went to was this one. Got the best "WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE" to date. Great sandwiches and gotta love the limitless soda options with the crazy machine.
(5)Keith W.
(2)Nick L.

(4)Ryan B.
I absolutely love the subs here. The fresh steamed meat makes the sandwich a cut Above the rest. The people at this particular restaurant are very helpful and are always happy. All I can say I want some of what ever is in the water.
(5)Sara R.
Great service and food is AWESOME! We had a fundraiser there for my daughters school.
(5)Lily S.
(4)Kate E.
Rebecca is super friendly and respectful. She greeted me with a smile, answered questions I had about the menu and offered substitutions for things I didn't like. The food is good but I will come back just because of her awesome customer service.

For a chain, out of site. Just smashingly delicious.
(5)Bryon B.
Decent sub, had the pastrami. Service is really good. Seemed busy but service was fast.

Great Subs!! Great customer Service ! By far the best sub shop in town . much better than Subway and Quiznos .
(5)Dave C.
(3)Duane M.
Excellent!!! The tastiest sub in Denver! Highly recommend them to anyone with an appetite!!
(5)Danielle S.
(3)Scott S.
This is an easy one: great warm subs, friendly staff, cool(ish) theme for a chain, quick service, clean restaurant, and an AWESOME Coca-Cola machine that let's you mix flavors. Life is good.
(4)Jamie L.
(3)Jenny C.
(2)Kathryn O.
Will ALWAYS drive here for a sub...always so yummy, people are friendly, and restaurant is clean! Get the steamer it's hands down the best sub there!!
(5)Claude C.
(3)Becky R.

(5)Lauren D.
(2)C G.
(5)Bill Y.
(4)Bridget L.
(4)J K.
(4)Geoff P.
(4)Deb S.
I love this place, I visit it when ever I'm in lakewood.
(5)loren l.
LOVE THIS PLACE. Great subs and they have the best coke fountain drink dispenser ever. It's the one where you can mix your own drink. They even have peach fanta.
