3 Margaritas Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

We went to this location of 3 Margaritas last night for dinner. It was the first time we'd ever been to a 3 Margaritas, so I cannot speak for their other locations, but this one was fabulous. I've based recent reviews strictly off of food quality, and I'm going to do that again here---if I was basing it on anything else it'd probably only get a 2, maybe a 3, but the food was phenomenal. Chips and salsa to start is standard, but the salsa here is as good as anywhere, at least for my taste. I had the steak al tampiquena and my girl had the deluxe burrito with shredded beef. Both were excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection---served with rice, beans and some sort of cabbage salad that was delicious. I don't usually like shredded beef but her burrito was good too----yes, I'm still talking about the food. The bad: It was a nice night so we sat out on the patio, which seemed like a good choice because the inside of the place is weird and brightly lit, with untinted windows and too much natural light and over-the-top mexican decor. At any rate, it's not the restaurants fault, but ALL of the people on the patio were loud, drunken morons at 6pm, including us. It was quite annoying. The food however, was excellent.

Eh... Take it from a Texan who's been to tiny towns(non-tourist) in Mexico several times. This place only claims to serve Mexican food. Kinda good. But the Mole sauce and salsa and margaritas need serious work. Margs are too sweet. Salsa taste like spaghetti sauce. And the mole tastes like a sauce I get at a local Asian joint. There was actually sesame seeds in the mole, I know that mole is made 100 different ways... But this should not be one of them.

Carne asada was flavorful! That's a rarity with Mexican food.

  • Jason S.

Okay. How have I not already reviewed 3 Margs yet??? I've been coming here for years now and have yet to have a bad experience, plus the food is always consistent and muy bueno!! I usually get some type of burrito and they're are HUGE!! The chips and salsa and always fresh and they're margaritas are great. The location here on Wads is by far my favorite, mostly because of the atmosphere and if you're lucky they sometimes have a live Mariachi Band roaming the restaurant. This place is moving up my list of favorite Mexican Joints in Denver! If you haven't been here yet... bookmark it, you won't be let down.

Great food and service. Very reliable place for a decent meal. We Have been coming here for years and the staff is always friendly.

Large portions of cheap re-heated tex-mex. Overly sweet margs. What I expected just hoped to be surprised. No such luck.

My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary and the experience was wonderful. The waitress greated us in spanish. It through him off at first until I traslated. The food was yummy and the margaritas were great. I recommend the 1800 or blue margarita. We were so full, we skipped out on dessert. I would love to eat here again, hopefully before our next anniversary.

3 Margaritas is pretty standard amongst Mexican food restaurants. Their offerings are the usual combo plates and burritos and enchiladas, nothing special but great in a pinch. I must say that at least their food is less salty than Hacienda Colorado. If you go on a weeknight for dinner be prepared though because a band of mariachis floats around and in such a confined space, the sound is quite blaring.

Atmosphere and food was fine. The drinks and the managers attitude... Not so much. Definitely not impressed. Won't be back.

  • Cryo L.

Food is subpar. Their service is horrible. We went in and got the most annoyed waiter they had. We were about to leave when I decided to ask the hostess (in front of the manager) if we could have another server. The guy looked pissed off at us. He was cheerful and cracking jokes with the other guests. Needless to say, I didn't tip.

  • Steven R.

Waited 5 minutes for a host to appear and they never did. Went to Hacienda Colorado instead and got good drinks and food.

I adore this place! The food is delicious, the staff is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I usually order the chile relleno because it's cooked to perfection, and because it's meatless. Their chips and salsa are so fresh, and that stuff with the mushrooms ( which I clearly don't know the name for) is amazing too! You should go!!

  • Ed G.

No personal attention. Waiter never looked at us. Just wanted to get out. Good is always ok, good. Bartender too busy to handle the crowd. Never had the best experience here.

    (3)
  • Todd W.

Everything was pretty mediocre. Food had some flavor but overall was bland. Server was nice but overwhelmed which made things slow. Its decent, but nothing great

Well after 8 years of coming here I am pretty sure this was my last visit. We decided to try something different today that was a shrimp dish and it tasted like rancid shrimp so we didn't touch the dish. The server asked if everything was ok and we said no worries we just didn't care for that one dish. Then the manager (younger guy who use to be a waiter) came out and was so rude to us about it, we weren't challenging them on their food at all but he was so mad it made us never want to come in again. This is the first time we had this experience but it was enough to leave a lasting impression on us and to never want to come back.

  • Mara S.

Two words...no bueno. Nothing authentic, and the margaritas were horrible. I could only taste the sweet and sour mix. But on the plus side the service was good.

Despite some of the other reviews I have read, my boyfriend and I received great service here. Our server was nice and attentive without bombarding us. The band does get very loud but they must have caught my looks of "please don't play in front of us" glances, and they kept to the other side - which was nice. It was just very loud for the space. As far as the food was concerned, this place is the first Mexican restaurant I have been to in Denver that remotely resembles the Mexican food I'm used to. No, they are not "authentic", but honestly, I have not found an authentic place in Denver - even by yelpers who insist that a restaurant is authentic. To the food: my boyfriend ordered a margarita and I ordered a lemonade. His margarita was quite strong and he seemed very happy with it. He's not a sweet margarita - or food - person so it must not have been overly sugary, contrary to another review I read. The salsa was a little tomato-ey, but it was a relief to not have cabbage mixed in... something unique to many Denver Mexican restaurants... apparently. The queso dip was good, not exactly what I was looking for, but I was happy with it. I ordered a burrito loco... I don't recall my boyfriend's dish... it was a dinner combo. My burrito was HUGE and so good I ate 3/4 and ate the rest for lunch the next day. My boyfriend was very happy with his meal also. Ultimately, we decided to make this our "good-to restaurant" when we crave Mexican.

My husband is a very picky eater. So when we went to this place the first time, I was pleasantly surprised that he liked the food. I had the tortilla soup myself and it was very good. I also had the drink "vampiro" which, despite it sounding sweet, was much more sour than sweet. I asked if there was a way to make the drink sweeter to the waitress but she just said no. So I was stuck nursing this drink. But all the food we had was very good otherwise. A week later, we ordered to go and it was delicious again. Their burritos and chimichangas are great! A week or so after that, we ordered out again. This time they gave us chicken instead of beef in the chimichanga, as we ordered. I called the store, talked to Anna, who had said they were closed but they would make us a beef chimichanga and I could walk in for it. Which was awesome. However, I went back, took the meal and went home with it ... only to discover that we were given a bean burrito. At that point, my husband and I were on the verge of giving up on the place but I called back and spoke to the manager, Alex, 30 minutes after the store was closed and told him our problems. He immediately rectified it by saying he would give me 2 free items from the menu the next day. And he stayed true to his promise! Nothing was wrong, the food was fresh and delicious and he even threw in some cheese dip into the mix with a ton of chips. Had it not been for Alex, I'm not sure we would have been comfortable conning back again. Thank you! Long story (one I already told you!) short, definitely give this place a shot. The manager obviously cares about his costumers and the cooks do a great job with the food. A few more good experiences and I think I'll change this review to 5 stars!

  • Cindy L.

Great service, but generic, average food with higher than average prices. We had chicken taquitos which were bland, burnt, and $10 for an appetizer portion. The enchiladas should not be ordered and skip the ceviche. Order drinks and eat somewhere else.

  • Rick S.

Great service but kinda mediocre Mexican food. I have been to this location as well as one on County Line & Broadway area. The one at County Line & Broadway actually has phenomenal service. They always blow me away. This one on Wadsworth also gives pretty good service but just didn't blow me away like the other location. I give them 3 stars because of the service. The food isn't bad, but it isn't something you'll write home about. It's a good value for the money.

  • Jc G.

Well. Where do I start. We are here now. I guess it's a one drink limit. We were served our drinks and never saw our waitress again. It took an hour for our food, we were served all these different salsas with no chips. Worse service ever unfriendly hostess NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN!

    (1)
  • Lee O.

Lee O. 5/19/2014 I would not recommend this place at all. Of course, if you know what real Mexican food is, you would know everything that it is served here comes out of a can. Today I ate a salad with shrimp and it had a disgusting flavor, when I brought it to the managers attention (not for a refund) his answer was that he personally supervised the preparation of the food and he did not think there was anything wrong with it! Not even an apology . I would not come back that's for sure!!

Great authentic Mexican food. Have traditional margaritas and a nice selection of Mexican beer. The appetizers are good as well as the small plates.

  • Katie B.

3 Margaritas is A-OK in my book. I honestly have nothing negative to say about it, but it also doesn't leave me wanting more. The wait staff was friendly, patient, and attentive. Our waitress came by on four separate occasions to refill our water glasses. We were there for perhaps 45 minutes around noon. They have an extensive menu with a variety of tex-mex options along with more traditional Mexican fare. I've never been there for dinner, but their lunch specials are quite reasonable. For under $7, I got a smothered beef chimichanga with guacamole, rice, beans, and cole slaw. The food was good, not great. Like I said, no real complaints. I have no qualms going back to 3 Margaritas, but it is also not a restaurant on my "must go" list.

I'm probably biased due to my TX history (we know our Mexican food), but this place was awful. I should've heeded the mixed reviews. One day I will learn! I visited this location around 9:30 PM on Saturday. You could tell that our server seemed bothered to have to work. We were a (drinking) group of 8, which could mean a large tip? Unfortunately, the server dropped off a pitcher of water and didn't return until he was ready to take our food order. When he did, he took our drink order and food order at the same time. What do you think happened next?...Yep! He served them both at the same time. On to the food - bland, cheap and runny. That about explains every dish that our group ordered. "Ok...the food isn't that good...the margaritas and chips/salsa must be the draw factor?" Wrong again! The salsa tasted like it was direct from a Cholula bottle and the margarita was $9.00 of fake juice and artificial sweetener. I wish no ill will on any small food chain, but if I were you, I'd pass on the over-priced, "out-of-a-can" food that is offered here.

The food was exactly what you would expect from a run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex restaurant. Their rice was cooked wonderfully and the service was fantastic.

  • Kristie L.

I ADORE this place. Food is great and authentic enough while still catering to American taste. Portions are HUGE. I would recommend to anyone! :o)

    (5)
  • Cass D.

With a choice of 3 Margs or Hacienda next door I picked 3 Margs. The food isn't the best American Mexican you've had in your life but you are guaranteed to find at least one legit Mexican at the bar while your in so I guess it's good enough. The menu is a little larger than you might expect and the prices are reasonable for the gigantic plate I think. Server was a little ditsy.

  • Edward B.

I go here for the Chicken Fajitas. Always 5 Stars. Completely satisfied every time. Very best Strawberry Margareta's in this area. When I want Mexican I go to 3 Margareta's.

    (5)
  • Mike F.

I didn't drink but I can only assume they serve strong ones as that's the only way I could imagine the 5 stars that litter these reviews. The service was good and the staff attentive. But the bottom line is food and the relative value. It was just ok. I never identified what smelled...well..."funny". But I digress. Loud rooms, mass produced and slopped on a plate and that's about it. It wasn't even especially affordable. Another review cited classy decor....uh...seriously? Neon beer lights plugged into ceilings with bare plugs; typical gawdy/tacky, mismatched and overdone. I know what your thinking--a foodie snob. Not even kinda close. I'd love to support local joints but as a family of three adults, 3M was 0-3. None of us have any inclination to return. Did I mention the attentive service?

    (2)
  • Scott S.

3(000) Margaritas gets 5 stars purely based upon customer service. We had the greatest server ever, complemented by her husband. They were playful and interactive and were joking back with our party as much as we were with them. The food is decent Mexican food, but the margaritas were well stacked with alcohol (which is good considering they were a bit pricey). You'll have fun here. Enjoy.

Good place for a Mexican restaurant, there is a Hacienda Colorado right across, I would chose this place again and again. the Food was fast and the price is really good, I had to pay only 6.50 for my plate. I recommend this place...

  • Jana M.

This food was disgusting! My husband and I both had smothered burritos and could not even finish half of our meal because of how terrible it tasted. The shredded beef was drenched in a bland tomato seasoning, and the green chile was another bland tomato sauce. The food all tasted the same with no flavor or spice. The food is way overpriced! We will never eat there again!

    (1)
  • Leahrae A.

I would give it a 5 but have never had a full meal there. We go there for the margaritas and chicken quesadillas. They have the BEST chicken quesadillas. The margaritas are great too. We have the Blue Agave margarita...comes in a big glass and they are not stingy with the tequila. Love, love, love the chicken quesadillas and the margaritas. We share the quesadillas, it's huge! and I'm full.

I was not impressed with the food or the service. Some of the food was cold, margarita was nothing to write home about. Took forever for food to come out and they were not busy.

We had a 5star experience at the Littleton/HR location on County Line several weeks ago, so I was surprised at the lackluster service and food at this location in Lakewood. The biggest issue was ordering a Chile Relleno and not getting what I ordered. It was a fried egg roll type thing stuffed with greasy cheese and very little poblano. I have never seen a Chile Relleno look like that before. Asking our waitress about it, she sort of blew it off by saying it was a "soft style " relleno. I call BS, because this item was pictured on the menu, and it looked just like every other Chile Relleno I have had in the past...Also, If that is true, then why didn't she give me an option upon ordering or point out that they made their Chile Rellenos different? After telling her I was "full" and I didn't really want anything else, She insisted to make me the "other" relleno, which I declined-my family was almost finished eating and I wasn't sure what I'd be getting! After returning from the restroom, I saw a to-go box on the table with said Chile Relleno, to eat, I guess, uh, at home? Ugh. It would never taste as good as a fresh one! My guess is that they did whatever they felt necessary so they didn't have to take the item off the check. Most disappointing: the coolness and unapologetic attitude. I will go back to 3 Margs, but only to the County Line locale.

First, let's call out patricks review... You would choose taco bell over 3 margaritas? I think your reviewing the wrong restaurant. And to say casa bonita s is better? Go smoke some more crack cause you are talking non sense. I've here multiple times, the ambience is cute and spanish and the workers are sooo nice and on top of everything. The salsa and queso is the boooomb! I got a burrito and am eatimg it as we speak! People wrote bad reviews had one bad experience or, like patrick, don't know what the hell they're talking about!

  • Patrick C.

I admit it, I am picky about my Mexican food. The Mexican restaurants I like are far and few between, but my experience at 3 Margaritas was as big a dining disappointment as I've ever experienced. First, the ambiance of the place was best described as sterile. Next, the seating has people packed in like sardines; tables right on top of one another. Finally the food represented the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Even worse than Casa Bonita which is saying something! Somehow, even the diet coke we had tasted awful! Bottom line, if I had a choice between 3 Margaritas and Taco Bell... yo quiero taco bell!

Sweet Lord Almighty, what am I doing writing this good of a review on this shithole? But I'm serious! I love it here! I'm so full right now and I want nothing more than to have a 1993 style bulimic after school special there right now!!! You know what I mean. Don't pretend you don't. Sweet God, let's talk about the Arroz Con Pollo. And the Mushroom Salsa. (Don't gag. It's good). The menu is like fifty feet long and everything is so gloriously Mexican home cookin moments. Its like I just want to curl up here during my most soul wrenching hangover and never leave. Viva Las Tres Margaritas! Don't judge bitches! It's the jam!

This location has the little 3-flower logo right after the "3" in the sign. When I'd visit the boyfriend before I moved here, I thought it was 3000 Margaritas as a result. So to me, it's 3000 Margaritas, which sounds more fun. Anywho... The menu here is very extensive, and provides most of your traditional Mexican-by-way-of-America fare. Margaritas are decent, but nothing here is anything to rave about. It's a fun atmosphere, kind of like a local Chevy's (if you are from the regions where Chevy's exists...well, this place kind of fills that niche), but a bit better. AND they have live mariachi on Wednesday nights -- take it or leave it, depending on your love of (loud!) Mexican folk music.

  • Saman S.

Service was slow and the food was pretty greasy. Not the worst Mexican I've had, but not the best either; prices are a little too high for the quality you get. The complimentary mushroom salsa was extremely tasty and the best part of the meal.

The first time I ate here wasn't too bad. We started by splitting a pitcher of beer, which probably helped. The waiter brought out complimentary "mexican candies," which, next to Colon Blow hot sauce, were the hottest things I have ever consumed. They were fire roasted jalepenos with salty seasoning. I think this was done to expedite our beer consumption. Next was a fatty seafood something or other in cream sauce, which wasn't too bad, but the whole experience left me with a raging heartburn. The next time I went I ordered the dungeness enchiladas. The meat was mealy and the whole dish was very salty. Goodbye Tres Margaritas, congratulations on your success.

what?!? great mexican in denver colorado - slap my ace and call me sally... its tuh-woo, its tuh-woo... ha. the GRUB: - please give me more enchiladas con dungenous crab and queso blanco topped with a creamy jalepeno verde sauce... - the tacos de adobada are muy loco, yo quiero tambien... - aye, una mas cervesa por favor... dos equis - spanish rice and frijoles ala mexicana - just like my abuela used to make... if i were mexican that is... the JOINT: - stay classy - tile work, brick walled, spanish abode style decor - huge dining area - plenty of parking outside - real mexicans serving (gracias, consuela!) and real mexicans cooking and dishing up the flavorful cuisine... - open cusina - no funny business... - FULL BAR! just like in Mexico, minus the trannys tho... - LCDs so you can watch el futbol... the SQUEEZE: - muy barato (dirt cheap, gringo!) - credito, pesos y pesetas, and American Express (ha) wow, i didnt know i really knew that much spanish...aye que rico.

We were generally happy with this chain store. The decor is very nice gaudy Mexican, very cheerful. I got two enchiladas and one taco. I think next time I'll just get the shredded beef tacos, very good. I only wish the food were spicier; next time I'll take my own bottle of Tapatio. Good friendly service.

This was a great date night destination, but it's also family friendly and we saw plenty of children while we were there. The layout is versatile - you can get a cozy corner booth for a date or a central table if you need some high chairs for the little ones. The food was wonderful, our waitress was very attentive, and the bathrooms were clean. As for "authentic" Mexican food... well, no, it isn't but you have to expect that based on the title of the place, right? We were very happy with our drowning-in-cheese selections, multiple cervezas, and a bright, cheerful interior. We'll definitely be back!

i'm not sure if this is the 3 margaritas i went to (i'm new to colorado and wasn't aware there were multiple restaurants). well whichever one i went to was great! theres some great mexican food in ca where i'm from and i wasnt sure how mexican food out here would compare. this is the only place i've tried so far but i was definitely impressed. the decor is kitchy (but thats pretty standard for mexican restaurants, is it not?). the staff were very helpful and friendly. the margaritas were nice and strong, just the way i like them. the queso dip we had with our chips was spicy and delicious (though i wasn't a fan of the salsa...a little like spicy spaghetti sauce). i had a burrito and it was good...what i like to refer to as "light" mexican food instead of "heavy" mexican food. not that it was necessarily any healthier than any other mexican restaurant...i'm not certain what makes it "light"...i just know i dont feel like i have a ton of bricks in my stomach after eating light mexican food. overall i really liked this place (though i'd probably like any place with a good strong margarita, haha)

WOW. This is probably one of the premiere places to get hit on in Denv if you are a fine young lady (like me). You will remember these lines for..hours, years. And the food? Ick! Too much, too fast, BUT tryin' to retain a rep. you hear? So, AS-IF that makes if okay, but at least I did lose a shoe here once--that is a fun memory! But otherwise, met some weirdos and experienced some definite indigestion. I would guess that depends on the night though...why not give it a try? Your tum will def. forgive ya.

  • Aaron M.

First the typical disclaimer. This is not real Mexican food but the typical cheesy fatty American Mexican. But this is typical, the food here can be hit or miss based on the couple times I have gone here. Tonight was nuts they had hour long waits which you would think was becasue the place is that good. But it was because it was the only restaurant open in several miles due to the blizzard. They managed to seat everyone that waited and were responsive to their needs for this I have great respect in the service. The food not so much it was pretty average even after waiting for so long. If I wasn't so hungry I can guess how bad it would be. But I can understand with that many people they might have brought their A game...still it is just an average place.

We eat at 3 Margaritas occasionally despite the fact that almost always, one of us winds up sick afterward. The chips and salsa are terrible. That salsa is seriously inauthentic and just funky tasting, like it is starting to go bad. The food is all inauthentic, actually. The tacos are ridiculously bad and that's a crime, but then again I haven't found a single Mexican restaurant in Colorado that knows how to make a simple taco. I usually get the Huevos Rancheros because I love over-easy eggs and am too much of a spaz to be able to make them at home without breaking the yolks or generally overcooking them. Today I was there and ordered this dish and after I'd taken a few bites, I realized how undercooked it was (like, not cooked enough to be safe to eat). The whites were still see-through in spots and in general they weren't even hot. I showed the waiter, who said "You wanted them over easy" as if that means uncooked. I said "the yolks are OK but the whites aren't cooked." He asked me if I wanted something else but did not offer a refund. Which is fine, I mean that's about the level of service I expect at a place like this, but it will be a LONG time before I return. My husband has had some luck with the Ensalada Cocula (I think that's what it's called) but to be honest, he likes everything. That, plus the fact that this place is not very expensive and I've never had to wait for a table, are why I'm giving two stars instead of one.

It probably helped that I came here with my brother and his gf, who knew every single person working here because they come here so often, but it was so fabuloso. My margarita was strong and so good, the mushroom salsa was simple but unique and amazing. I have never had grilled jalapeños before, and I can't even tell you. Finally, my main was chicken with a creamy poblano pepper and mushroom sauce that was totally to die for!! Everything and everyone was awesome. Especially Sergio;)

So, I haven't actually eaten here but I did swing by after work with some co-workers for a pre-Casa Bonita margarita--I figured that was necessary. Everyone I was with ordered a margarita with an Amaretto shot to pour on top...I actually do jump off bridges when everyone else does, do I decided to follow suit in this department as well. My margarita was yummy and the amaretto shot made it even better....but when I got my check, my margarita was nearly $15!! What the heck?! The amaretto was more than the actual margarita. Also, I seriously did a triple-take on my way out when I saw that the hostess was blatantly painting her fingernails cherry red on the hostess stand!! ummmmm.... Anyway, the food going by looked and smelled pretty good so I'm looking forward to going back to try it out!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
