We must have driven by this place a zillions times and never went in...boy, am I sure happy we did! The food was fantastic and the service (Andrea) was top-notch! We had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, BBQ Bowl and the Bacon Candy and they were AWESOME! The 3 BBQ Sauces on the table had a great taste and complimented the food perfectly. We look forward to making this one of our regular places and so should you!

Thoroughly unimpressed. Giving one star is generous. The barbecue was dry and tasted as if it had been prepared some time in advance and kept under a heat lamp. I had the "BBQ Combo" and the pulled pork, smoked chicken and ribs were all dry and needed a good dose of sauce just to eat them. The baked beans and slaw were palatable but fairly uninteresting. My wife's and daughter's meals were similarly less than acceptable and none of us finished what we had ordered. The service was inattentive and slow. The waitress seemed to have other things on her mind than paying attention to our needs. Had we not been running short on time, I would have spoken to the manager and told him/her about our experience. As it was, when the bill came and it was over $70, we were appalled. No way was our meal worth half that! A highly overrated "restaurant" to which we will not be returning!!

Let me start by saying that I LOVE their food. That is the one thing that has never let me down and the reason I keep going back. When we first started going (maybe about a year ago?). The staff was fantastic. Sadly, the last few months as shown a turn over of the non-interested in serving you wait staff. They take your order, give you your food then you don't see them again until it's time for the check. Disappointing when they started off so great! Regardless of that fact, however, the food is consistently great and that will keep me heading back there!

Let me start out by saying I ate too much this time out but there was a list of things I wanted to try. We started with bacon candy from the happy hour selection, it was a buck so why not ? It was a decadent treat sweet and salty and different but good. For an appetizer we ordered the brisket quesadilla with guacamole on the side. It was very good and for one person it would suffice as a meal by itself. The gastronomic gauge was at 3/4 but I kept going against my limited better judgement . I ordered the barbeque platter with ribs, pulled pork and a chicken leg quarter. The ribs were just okay and a little tough and dry and my preference is moist and falling from the bone. The chicken leg quarter is in my fridge for a later time after recovery. The beans were my favorite and I could eat a big bowl of them. The slaw was not to my liking and with BBQ places that is important. The house BBQ sauce is very good with just a hint of heat. Our waiter was very engaging and he knew about the menu. I don't know why this place wouldn't be busier they have a nice patio where you can enjoy the fresh air and the smokers aroma as it slow cooks the evenings offerings. I would go back for a cold beer and a pulled pork sandwich and maybe sneak in some bacon candy. I liked the place and we received excellent service from our waiter who I think was also tending bar inside.

It's ok, but the waitstaff is very young and really don't know what their doing. When the specialty drink is a root beer martini with loads of cream, sugar and a tiny bit of root beer flavored vodka, it's more of a sorority joint then a real BBQ place. I think the service is losing the business, this place could have potential with a real waitstaff.

Miller's is a great local restaurant. I never understand why it's not more crowded... But oh well that leaves more for us. They have really good food and drinks. We usually start with their Gorgonzola Chips. These are house made chips with Monterey cheese sauce, diced peppers, bacon, chives and Gorgonzola cheese. These are gluten free and amazing!!! Then I dive into Rich's Bulldawg Burger. This is a burger topped with smoked pork, onion ring and BBQ sauce. They are known for their BBQ, and boy is it good!! They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a fun, family place! Check out their website to find our who is going to be playing this weekend. I see a number of other reviews with people wondering why this place always seems empty. I think I know why... they're turning business away! We walked down to Miller's on Father's Day morning after hearing about their new brunch offerings. It was 9:00am or so and when we got there, the patio was mostly empty, maybe 3-4 tables taken. My wife chatted with the young woman hostess while I parked the stroller and tended to our 2yr old. As I approached, I overheard the hostess explain to my wife that their 6+ top tables were taken. Could we put two four tops together? We really wanted to sit out on their patio on such a beautiful morning. "No." was her reply. My wife offered that our party of 5 (including toddler) was fine to sit at a 4 top. We could just tuck our toddler in in the high chair at one of the corners. He'd already eaten and wouldn't be using the table anyway, we just needed to keep him seated with us and not running around. She said that would be fine, but the high chair can't block the walkways for the servers. "We're going to be really busy soon." Uh, ok. Sure that makes sense, I don't want to block the way or be an inconvenience, but this is a non-issue. Their uncomfortable wrought iron chairs stick out further than the high chair does, and we'd be tucking the high chair in between the parents at the corner of the table. It would not be in the way! My wife tried to lighten the situation and give them an out by jokingly asking if the fire marshall has been giving them a hard time. She didn't seem to get it, and then admitted to us that she had just turned away another family with a kid for the same reason. What!?! Yep. It turned out to be true. We met that family at The Post 30 minutes later. They were just as appalled as we were. At this point I got insistent. I told her that this was preposterous, in all my years of working in restaurants as a young man, and in visiting restaurants, never have I seen a restaurant not be willing to accommodate guests like this. I then insisted that she place a high chair at an available four top, and seat us. She yelled at me, "SIR!, SIR!" Just as I was about to demand to see the owner, my wife made the call that we shouldn't bother any longer and we should leave. And we did. And so Mrs. or Mr. Owner... You have a problem here. Bad customer service isn't an employee problem, it's a management problem. You have have an employee turning away business, rigid in her understanding of your rules, not willing to accommodate reasonable requests from your guests who want to be seated, partake in your offerings and GIVE YOU MONEY. She kept talking about all the customers that were going to be arriving that morning, while telling us loud and clear that we are not welcome, even though we were there to give you our business. Maybe this is fine by you and she was carrying out your orders exactly as you taught her. That's fine, it's your business, but you lost a customer today and I will make damn sure everyone I know hears about this. But if it's not, then you have your work cut out for you training this employee for customer service. Either way it's on your shoulders. And either way, you lost a local customer.

Been here a few times and each time has been a great experience. I've had several dishes, all have been above expectation and the prices and portions are great. I'd recommend a burger or any BBQ, and the awesome beer list is a bonus!

The first time we went to Millers grille, everything was great. Food, service, etc. this visit was very different. We went on a Sunday for a late breakfast. Around 10:45. After we were seated, we noticed our table was sticky. Our waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink. We said water and coffee, and asked her to wipe our table down. After a few minutes, She brought the water. We asked again to have our table cleaned. After About 15 minutes our coffee came. Once again, asked our waitress to clean our table. Finally she brought over a bar towel to wipe it down. Our coffee cups were getting low but she never offered more coffee. After about 40 minutes from when we sat down, our food was delivered, and we asked for more coffee. Mind you, there were 3 tables total inside the restaurant. We ordered an extra egg which we did not get but were charged for. (She did remove it when we told her about it) the food was ok but portions were small. The service here was much less than desirable.

Meh. That's about as well as I can put it. Not bad but not great. The brisket was tender but it was definitely lacking the smoke ring and traditional smoked flavor I have come to expect of brisket. The ribs were dry and the pulled pork tasted several days old and was even drier than the ribs. I'm a believer in the meat should be the flavor but this is the kind of place that you really need the sauce to provide anything flavorful. The sides were a little different and not to my liking. Perhaps I came on the wrong day but a Saturday afternoon seems like a time when you would want to have your best product out and available. The service was good but to be honest made me feel rushed. If you feel like paying premium prices for BBQ that doesn't quite meet the mark then so be it. It's a neat place with good ambiance but exceptional it is not. Next time I have hankering for BBQ I will drive up to Longmont for Georgia Boys or make it myself. For a burger and a beer stop by but skip the BBQ in my opinion.

We tried this place twice hoping the first time was just a fluke. Nope, it was just as bad the second time. The bbq was tough and cold. They got our order terribly wrong but we didn't raise a fuss. As we were sitting there with my son, a group of 6+ kids walked in totally trashed. I get it, I was a kid once too. The language and noise got so bad my wife had to leave with our son while I waited for the check. No body from the restaurant had the courage to take care of the situation...sad. To top it off, I was charged $12 for a double Whiskey and coke. I thought for a minute I was in Boulder. I really like the bar atmosphere and would like to support this place being from the Midwest myself. Unfortunately we will never be back.

Went for dinner with my wife hoping for some good BBQ but was really disappointed. The meat was over cooked, dry, tough, and flavorless. What made it worse was the disgusting house sauces that was drenched over it all. My wife got the peach cobbler for dessert but it was more of a peach cake with a random canned peach tossed in. The service was good, the place looked clean, but the food was bad enough to keep me away forever and to let everyone I meet know just how bad it was.

The 2nd star is for a nice patio and good beer selection, otherwise this would be a one star stop. The service here is atrociously bad and all 3 burgers at our table were severely over cooked, fries limp and sides never brought out. No lettuce, tomato or onion were served with the burgers either making for very boring burgers. The salad ordered with our group was decent, so I won't knock that. We had considered sitting indoors due to the bugs that have been out lately, but the stale stench and seriously dated feel pushed us outdoors. I wish we would've kept walking. I hope the owners read their reviews and work on some improvements. Lafayette seriously needs a good pub type place and Millers has the potential.

Nothing special to it. Strange atmosphere, they have board games and it is a very loud open space. If you have never been and want to try it, go. But that will be the only time you go.

It was mediocre, at best, for me. The amount of meat on the brisket sandwich was laughable, a very thin layer hidden between two massive, dry slices of bottom-of-the-barrel white bun. Their specialty, homemade chips literally tasted like nothing, not even salt or grease. I asked the waitress what was in the mashed potatoes and she said she wasn't sure, but maybe just butter. Yes, maybe there is butter in there, somewhere, but nothing else. The most bland flavor you can imagine. Meat was tender enough, but didn't really have a smoked flavor, more of a "cooked in a crock-pot" kind of vibe, and they used it sparingly in all of our meals. I think they are confused about what a cobbler is, since theirs was just warmed up cake with microwaved frozen peaches mixed in. I know this because some of the peaches were blistering hot while others were still a bit frozen. And also, because cake and cobbler are not the same. Staff was decent, but our waitress dropped a knife on my toddler's head, which I'm trying really hard to get over because I know everyone drops things and kiddo wasn't hurt. But still, it was my toddler, and it was a knife. If it hit her differently, or if it fell on the right person's kid this place could be in big trouble. We were the only customers there, so rushing wasn't really necessary. The caramel sauce is amazing, and I would like to just buy a bucket and eat it every day. But since I will never be going back, I guess I'll just have to live without.

The reason it isn't more crowded is that most locals I talk to refuse to go there because the food can be mediocre at times and the service is almost always atrocious. Simply do not understand how they stay in business. Such a shame because they have the best deck/patio in town and it's not that hard to instill the attitude of good customer service.

LOVED the BBQ! I have to say with absolute sincerity that their BBQ blows LuLu's out of the water. Never had such delicious smoked chicken! Do yourself a favor and get their BBQ sampler platter when you go; you'll regret it otherwise! Only downside was the service; our server was a strange younger gal who meant well but just didn't deliver. On another occasion, we had the best server; one of a set of twins that works there. Both of the twins were sweet and did a great job.

Awesome lunch date with wife and kids. Staff is excellent. Sat outside on the deck with a beautiful Colorado day. Good prices on good draft beer. Upslope brown ale on tap won me over. Oldest daughter had the sliders with one of each meat smoked chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. She loved it paired with the choices of BBQ sauce and perfect house made potato chips. Wife had the cod fish n chips and was pleased. Little one had the kids Mac and cheese. Taste was great but it's made with large penne pasta which made it more work for her to eat. I had the BBQ bowl with brisket and it was very good and unique. Looking forward to trying the burgers next visit along with the bacon candy.
We've been sitting here awhile. The food is good, but the service needs some serious work.

Patio is great. Beer is great. Bacon candy for an appetizer, was ok. The idea of bacon candy however is amazing so props for offering it! Servers have been spectacular! Very attentive, kept checking in. They were short a chef so they apologized ahead of time for the delay with the food. I didn't mind at all because they didn't hide but came out and said something. HOWEVER, I've read other reviews that have said service was slow because people were out. So it could be their thing. I'll be honest, weather is great and the music is good so I'm just fine sitting here drinking my Nitro, milk stout from Left Hand Brewing. Food: Carolina chicken was good with the sauce. Cole Slaw was meh. Baked beans were meh. Corn bread was good. Look. I will be back but not for the food. Just to chill.

Worst attempt at bbq I've ever had.. The brisket was cold, and very chewy, and the grill marks on it show their poor attempt to reheat it was a huge failure. The ribs were very chewy and inedible. The cornbread was very dry, the only average food I found was the mashed potatoes, provided I added my fair share of salt to them... Do not listen to your stomach when you drive by and smell the bbq.. Thank god for the bud light.

Ok, Lafayette isn't exactly the place you think of when you and your social support system want to go and spread a little cheer. In fact, Lafayette could be the only place a flash mob would be "spectator less". It just seems, there's just not a lot going on. Ah, but this little sleepy town is starting to come alive. And recently after a few of us finished tearing into tortilla filled food, we made the stroll across the street to a nice quiet little place called Miller's Down Under Grille. It's in the basement, crypt, cellar of Miller's Grille. We had no idea; we were just looking for a place to have a nightcap and chat. What we found were friendly locals and a great friendly bar tender. PBR was on special and they have a great selection of local brews. It looks like an open mic comedy show is starting back up, might be worth checking out. A word of caution, since this place is located in a basement, the stairs (apparently) are hard to navigate as witnesses by an over zealous local drinker who was returning from the restroom. We gave him a 6 on the dismount.

Everything was excellent! The chips are perfectly fried, the dill pickles were crunchy, the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was filling and tasty, and the pulled pork sandwich was excellent. I took friends to this restaurant right before Christmas and the whole experience was horrible! The service was loust and took almost an hour to get our dinner. When it came, we had to send back two of the entrees, the ribs were black on the outside and raw i side...had the taste of burned, uncooked pork. The brisket salad was ridiculously awful, skices of brisket that looked gray as if they had been pan fired but not browned, laid on top of the salad so that the salad was totally limo and warm underneath...so un-appetizing! Needless to say we won't be back. Miller Grill used to be a good place to eat and hang out....but not now!

I was so looking forward to going to Miller's and I was extremely disappointed. It was sympathy to give this restaurant 2 stars. Miller's charges prices that would ok if the food was excellent. The prices matched eating at restaurants by famous chefs that I have been to. Unfortunately nothing that my friend and I ordered was even mediocre. The homemade chips sounded good, they weren't. Instead of being crisp they were dried out, flavorless and odd tasting. My friend got a corn muffin that was the size I used to make in my easy bake oven. My sandwich, a Ruben had a few streams sauerkraut and a dressing that I assumed was mayonnaise and catsup. The sandwich was soggy the beef was tender but tasteless and cut too thick. The only positive thing I have to say is the porch patio was very pleasant. Inside dining was another thing, it reminded me of old time sleazy bars. It was so dark on this beautiful sunny day that it was depressing to even walk through there. I almost never write reviews, but I was so disappointed in this restaurant it made me angry. I wish Aaron Bennett, a great chef, would come back to Lafayette.

I had the BBQ bowl with brisket and hot links. That combo is not on the menu, but the server happily accepted my request. The meat was piled high on top of quite tasty mashed potatoes and gravy with grilled corn kernels. While the hot links were delicious and perfectly spicy, I found the brisket to be a bit chewy and bland. They have a great beer selection, and the atmosphere is perfect for a BBQ joint. I'll certainly be going back to Millers, but I'll likely steer clear of the brisket.

We saw this place just taking a walk down the street, it look like a good place to stop in and try, well we should have kept going. I ordered the blackened blue burger and my friend ordered to breakfast burger we both ordered them medium, mine was Raw and my friends was so well done it was burnt and couldn't be eaten The waitress was very nice about it and she said she would talk to the manager I don't know if she did or not the restaurant was not busy at all so why didn't the manager come talk to us I don't know ( manage up) So I got 2 burgers that we could not eat and all they would give us was a piece of peach cobbler you would have thought for the price of the burger which was way over priced at 11 dollars they should have comped at least one if them I don't think that we will be back way over priced for what you get.

Interesting menu. They use bacon in a lot of places and I fully support that! I got the double bacon BLT. It was good, not great, but ultimately quite satisfying. Service also wasn't great, but it seemed from my eavesdropping on the server conversation that someone was late or sick. Great patio! Wanted to sit outside for lunch but alas it started raining. The indoors is perfectly setup for evening, but it was a little too dark and bar-like for a lunch setting. I would recommend to a friend to try, and I'm going to give it another shot for dinner to really take advantage of the atmosphere.

Millers Grille is the place to go for good barbeque meal. The food is always nicely prepared and tasty! Th front deck is the perfect place to enjoy your barbecue and drink on a summer evening. I usually end up getting the pulled pork, but my family has enjoyed the beef plate and the combo dishes. The glitches in service are one area where they could work on. The servers are friendly, but they often forget a side or a drink order and don't check back very often.

I loved that their draft beers were Colorado beers and the burger with bacon and brie was decadent and delicious. My friend and I went there on a Sunday around 2:30 pm, and it was empty, which was a bit of a surprise, but not too shocking given the hour and the snowy weather. I ordered a half-rack of baby-back ribs and my friend ordered the pulled-pork sandwich. Both were dry but fairly tasty. I liked the fries, which I can say without reservation; my friend got potato chips as her side and she really liked those. The cole slaw was sad. It was wilted and dry and tasteless; it looked like they forgot the liquid part of the recipe or skimped on it so much as to negate its existence.

BBQ, Burgers and Beer. I'd add in a small town patio. There was an ample selection of beer and it was cold. Daughter had a burger and claimed it was good. The reason that I come to write a review however is the BBQ. There are a lot of folks doing BBQ these days and a bunch doing it poorly while others do it quite well. Millers has both ends covered. I had a sampling of chicken, ribs, pork and brisket. Yes I was stuffed. The brisket was solid grey had a fair amount of fat, no smoke ring and no smoke flavor. This meat had obviously never seen the inside of a smoker. Certainly low and slow would have rendered the fat and gave it a better texture as well. Similarly the pork was, well pork. No smoke flavor and no bark. I am guessing that it too never saw the burnt end of a stick. That's the bad news. They cheat. Hopefully it is temporary. The better news is is the chicken was well prepared and though it also had zero smoke flavor it was pretty good when paired the the fantastic sauces that made even the pork and brisket bearable. The good news was the ribs. The bones were tremendously cooked and seasoned. Perfect taste with just a glaze of sauce and a great smoke flavor. The only drawback was perhaps the fire had gotten away at some point during the cook, but I was thrilled to taste that there had at least been a legit cook. Service was great, beer was cold, atmosphere good and I could easily see them pulling their Q act together. Though I wonder why they have resorted to cheating already. They obviously have skills. Not sure why they choose to fail at brisket and pork. If you are not going to Q it, don't offer it. I'll give it another go at some point , but I hope their other meats catch up to the ribs. I could easily give two stars, they probably deserve 2.5 but I actually enjoyed the experience so I'm giving three.

Went for weekday lunch with my husband. I had the Smoked Brisket Philly, and while it was tasty, the brisket was tough and most of the sandwich was bread - super thick bread. Husband had Lew's Hawkeye Pork Sandwich, which he loved! Service was excellent. But prices are a little high for lunch, even though the portions are HUGE. Wish they had a lunch menu or lunch specials at least. Will be back to try ribs or something besides brisket. But at these prices and OK food, not too many times.

Local Love I've only been here once and I must say that Miller's Grille treated us well this time around. The main patio area seems to be the hot spot on Public Rd. I just wish that there were more places like this down the Old Town Lafayette strip. The inside isn't huge but plentiful indeed. Upon walking in I got a nice rustic feel especially since they had some live bluegrass music going on. We were there while the group was practicing and members were trickling in. It was great even though it wasn't their actual set. I believe that we were served by the bartender and he was sweet. He took real good care of us with our beer selections and offered tasters to some selections on tap. The food was of fair quality, but you can tell that they're trying to impress. I wasn't feeling the eggplant sliders or the portobello mushroom sandwich I ordered. I would definitely try other things on the menu because I feel like they have something great to offer as long as you find your signature Miller's dish! I loved the risotto because of the healthy twist of the added butternut squash. The small garnish of fried onion straws atop this cheesy and creamy mixture was awesome. Aside from the food and the killer risotto, I also love how they try to bring the place to life with live music and themed nights. Get this, they even had their own peach festivities last weekend while the majority of the street their on was closed off for the Peach Festival. Peach beverages & peach plates. So cute! Two thumbs up for the beer selection, live music, and local culture! Oh, and how can I forget the risotto?? I hope it never disappoints.

Their portabella swiss burger is pretty ordinary for the $10 they charge. It came on a standard untoasted white sesame bun with lettuce and tomato. The vegetarian patty (a $1 up charge) is not homemade. I know because I've bought these patties at Costco. It also came with a side of potato chips, which were bland and chewy. My girlfriend ordered a salad. The lettuce was brown and unappetizing. On the upside, they have an ok (just ok) beer list.

Amazing food, wonderful drinks, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. The Burgers, chilli and fish and onion rings are great. Very casual atmosphere. Probably would not take a vegetarian here. My boyfriend likes the microbrews on tap, and I love the Bloody Mary's and Long Island Ice Tea. There is a porch which I believe allows calm and well behaved dogs.

I've gone to Miller's a few times over the past month and have been very pleased. We took the kids for a early dinner on a Friday, and I've been on a Saturday with friends, and a few times on my own for lunch. I've been happy so far. I kind of though it was just a Barbecue Joint. I did not realize that they had such an expanded menu. We have had really good brisket, pork, sliders, and I have had an excellent Rubin and a really good fish sandwich. The sides are very good (but small portions). The portions are a little small for the price, but pretty good overall. I have not been downstairs yet, so I am not sure what that is like, but we will defiantly be going back soon.

Terrible service, really hoping this place turns around. Had to wait to receive a place setting (after we had eaten half of our dinners), had to ask for waters, and then waited 15 minutes to settle our bill (this is after we had given our credit card to our server). The food was ok, but because of the service I'm not sure I'd return anytime soon.

I checked out Miller's Grille recently for the first time with some local friends. I was invited to come for dinner and then the comedy show. There seemed to be a pretty descent crowd for the show, which was in the cellar room. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger, Parmesan garlic fries and a specialty drink. The drink was too expensive for this town, and this gal, but good nonetheless. The burger was large and done perfectly, but the fries were kinda weak on taste. They lacked the flavor of both. There were whole, soft cloves of garlic scattered among the fries, yet upon eating the cloves, I found them too mild, not garlicy at all (roasted garlic can be this way). As for the Parmesan, uh, I didn't see any on the fries. When the waitress came back to check on us, I mentioned the flavorless fries. Within minutes I was presented with a new order that were far better in flavor. Maybe they just needed more of both on them. I still had to add salt and pepper though. In this day and age, I'd prefer to salt and pepper my food to my tastes rather than have them come out already too salty. Plus, so many people are watching their salt intake; so, I'm not complaining about the lack of salt on the fries. All in all, the food was pretty good and not too pricey. Our service was wonderful too. Wish I could remember her name. I think it was Rachel, but I'm terrible with names and my receipt doesn't have her name on it. Oh well, I remember she said she was from Texas originally. Sweet young woman. As for the comedians, well, I've seen better. I didn't much like them, and I'm not hard to please. I've just heard enough of bad sex jokes to last me a lifetime. I noticed there were games and a pool table down there and some other games upstairs (board style ones?) to keep people entertained. Think I'll come back another time to play some of these with my friends. According to the events board, it looks like they have Game Night there every Monday night, Live Bluegrass music and Open Mic every Thursday, and other live music bands playing on other nights. This looks like a nice place to spend some time on a shaded patio too. I'll definitely come back again with my friends for these other things.

I recently lived in Lafayette for the first time. One night on my bicycle, trying to scout out the local watering holes, I discovered a full bluegrass band playing inside of a bar named Miller's Grille. I jumped off my bike and ran up to the bar, where I had an extremely fun night with the whole staff and bluegrass players, who are a group of community members that meet every Thursday night! The owner himself (Chris) served me some drinks as we hung out with the musicians, and when I came back the next time, the basement was stuffed full of awesomeness! Darts, pinball, another bar, pool tables, that digital golf game, lots of fun! Every time I went in, alone or with friends, the staff remembered my name and could recommend fancy beers based on what I'd drank there before. I love this bar and everyone who works there! Highly recommend it!

so I gave Millers Grill another chance...I'd like to give it a ZERO. Food was not edible(I'd love to know who they buy food from, so I can see if they buy quality stuff or crap). when the waitress came back to see if we needed anything she notice none of the 4 of us ate anything, she offered to wrap it to go. My wife said she wouldn't even feed it to our dog. The waitress told us she's heard that a lot lately... A WASTED $75...we left and had a burger at Karz (who was having a car show, very busy and good food and friendly service) I never thought I miss Tutti.... the good news is that Pinochios is no longer my least favorite restaurant in Lafayette I don't know if the owners read yelp, or care about reviews, but come on you cant be blind. You opened strong, with good food and good service. In less than 6 months you have neither. It looks better, but runs worse.....think of the things you've changed, and change back. If you have good food, but bad service, people will still come (Tutti was evidence of this) But if neither is good, I hope you have deep pockets, because my guess is that you won't make it a year if you continue in this direction

As a business owner myself I really do want business owners to succeed. Unfortunately this place, at least on the day that I ate there, was absolutely terrible. While Miller's Grille touts itself as a BBQ place, I grabbed the fish and chips. Perhaps Miller's Grille is better suited for BBQ and should leave fish and chips to a place that can execute this very simple dish. A customer will first note that the dish is priced at $14.95. Well above market value - even for places that do it sufficiently. The diner will next notice that the type of fish itself is left undefined. Am I paying this much for cod? Or am I paying an absurd premium for haddock or some other second-rate fish. Unsurprisingly, the waitress didn't know. And by the way, the batter is totally unseasoned and flavorless. Finally, fish and chips is a meal in which both the fries and the fish matter. The fries were cold hard and gross. It was as if they took fries out of the fridge from the night before, heated them in a microwave and served them on a plate. Is it that hard to make fries to order when frying up the fish? Miller's recently restructured itself. Too bad they didn't do it well.

The first time we went to this place, after it changed hands from Tutti's, the food and wait staff was nothing to write home about but adequate. By our second visit, months later, service and food had already gone downhill. The waiter was also playing bartender, had never heard of a Jameson and ginger, and stopped to chat with his friends at another table before heading to make our drinks. Then he returned to the table because he'd forgotten what we ordered. Nice, friendly guy but maybe not the best choice for bartending. When the food arrived, the pasta was overcooked and dry, and the salads were skimpy and made with iceberg lettuce. Who serves iceberg lettuce in this part of Colorado?! We're not going back.

Finally, a late night place in Old Town Lafayette! Great! We went to Miller's Down Under - the bar under the Grille - last Saturday night. The drinks we great, the bartender friendly, and they even had the kitchen open for a late night menu. There were people playing pool, pinball and old school video games - what a nice atmosphere. Update: They have since made a lot of changes to the patio, menu and service. The fam and I tried it again and had a completely different experience. Much better now! We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio, and the tall chairs and tables are a nice touch, but a few umbrellas outside would be very welcomed. Also, the seats on the tall chairs are covered in a very heavy tweed, which makes for a sweaty behind on a warm day. Not very well thought out, in my opinion. Service was decent, although 10 minutes after ordering, our server (who did not bother to write anything down) came back and said that the kitchen "lost our ticket". He never offered us more water, or to get us another beer during our meal. 35 minutes later our food arrived. It was warm, although my son's french fries were barely cooked. Took another 15 minutes to get a replacement, and they had a ton of strange italian seasoning dumped on top of them. When I pointed this out to the server he said "I told them it was for a kid, they shouldn't have put that on top". No apology, no offer of another order, no offer to take something off the bill. So we paid $4 for a ramekin of macaroni and cheese. The other food was nothing to write home to mama about. I had the eggplant sliders, which were pretty good, and my husband's burger was just okay. Kind of a disappointment to what could have been a great hang-out in downtown Lafayette. I miss Tutti.

I have been on several occasions, and have never had an issue. The food has always been great and the service great as well. I have yet to have a snotty waiter/waitress, and food has always been prompt, (but I am usually not in a hurry and enjoy chatting with whom I am dining). I have brought large groups as well, with no issues whatsoever. The patio is a great place to unwind. We always take our guests to Miller's and we have always been completely satisfied. I also enjoy the live music on the patio!

It doesn't get any better. This was recommended to me by a friend. I'll recommend it to everyone. I'm from the East coast and I've eaten a lot of seafood. I'm always a bit hesitant ordering seafood in land locked Colorado. The scallops are simply the best I've ever had. The service was outstanding, the management was friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, the price is right. There were four in my party and we all ordered something different, then we all ended up sharing because each of us claimed to have ordered the best meal on the menu. You could close your eyes and just point to anything on the menu and not be disappointed. We'll be going back.

Used to go to this place when it was Tutti's which had slow service but good food. Now it has slow service and the food is so bad they must have a cook from the penitentiary. Everything on the plate tasted like left overs that were in the fridge for a week, not kidding. The meat loaf was just so terrible it is hard to imagine a cook could even make something (yes something, not sure what) so tasteless and covered it with a disgusting BBQ sauce that for sure came out of a bottle that's been in the back of the fridge since they opened. Cole slaw actually had a rotten fermented taste like it was left in a window all day and put back in the fridge, no joke. I had one bite of each and only hope I don't get the runs tonight. The people who bought this place are in the construction business, they should stick to that as this place will be gone before the end of the summer. I really can't believe the owners have ever eaten the food they are serving because if they did the chief (LOL) would be out of a cooking job and going back to cleaning porta potties. The taste and quality of Millers grill food is compariable to what the homeless dumpster divers eat but worse, and that's where their food belongs, IN THE TRASH!

Possible the worst meal I have had in a long, long time, The "Special" was Turf & Surf the night I went there. The Turf consisted of a 6oz pan seared piece of meat that shouldn't have been used to make beef stock. It was Tough and had large pieces of tendon running through it. I ordered it rare and it came out medium at best. I was told that is was suppose to be Top Sirloin. It was anything but "Top". The Surf portion of the meal was fresh scallops. They were able to use scallops in the plural form only because I was served Two. They were pan seared also with potatoes so it looked like there were more than what there was. Since scallops and potatoes are similar in color I guess. All this for the price of $16.95. The waitress forgot to bring one of our group her coffee. She never did get it. We asked for extra plates for our desert and had to wait for at least 3-5 minutes. I told one of the staff that was clearing off the plates that the steak was not what they had said it was. There was nobody from the restaurant that came over to ask if there was a problem. Later in the evening when it started getting dark, two flood lights came on and blinded one of our party to the point we had to move to another table so she could see. The only reason I give them one star is because I can't give them less. The other members of my party ordered fish dishes and were pleased with their selections. I for one will not return to Millers Grille.

We must have driven by this place a zillions times and never went in...boy, am I sure happy we did! The food was fantastic and the service (Andrea) was top-notch! We had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, BBQ Bowl and the Bacon Candy and they were AWESOME! The 3 BBQ Sauces on the table had a great taste and complimented the food perfectly. We look forward to making this one of our regular places and so should you!

Thoroughly unimpressed. Giving one star is generous. The barbecue was dry and tasted as if it had been prepared some time in advance and kept under a heat lamp. I had the "BBQ Combo" and the pulled pork, smoked chicken and ribs were all dry and needed a good dose of sauce just to eat them. The baked beans and slaw were palatable but fairly uninteresting. My wife's and daughter's meals were similarly less than acceptable and none of us finished what we had ordered. The service was inattentive and slow. The waitress seemed to have other things on her mind than paying attention to our needs. Had we not been running short on time, I would have spoken to the manager and told him/her about our experience. As it was, when the bill came and it was over $70, we were appalled. No way was our meal worth half that! A highly overrated "restaurant" to which we will not be returning!!

Let me start by saying that I LOVE their food. That is the one thing that has never let me down and the reason I keep going back. When we first started going (maybe about a year ago?). The staff was fantastic. Sadly, the last few months as shown a turn over of the non-interested in serving you wait staff. They take your order, give you your food then you don't see them again until it's time for the check. Disappointing when they started off so great! Regardless of that fact, however, the food is consistently great and that will keep me heading back there!

Let me start out by saying I ate too much this time out but there was a list of things I wanted to try. We started with bacon candy from the happy hour selection, it was a buck so why not ? It was a decadent treat sweet and salty and different but good. For an appetizer we ordered the brisket quesadilla with guacamole on the side. It was very good and for one person it would suffice as a meal by itself. The gastronomic gauge was at 3/4 but I kept going against my limited better judgement . I ordered the barbeque platter with ribs, pulled pork and a chicken leg quarter. The ribs were just okay and a little tough and dry and my preference is moist and falling from the bone. The chicken leg quarter is in my fridge for a later time after recovery. The beans were my favorite and I could eat a big bowl of them. The slaw was not to my liking and with BBQ places that is important. The house BBQ sauce is very good with just a hint of heat. Our waiter was very engaging and he knew about the menu. I don't know why this place wouldn't be busier they have a nice patio where you can enjoy the fresh air and the smokers aroma as it slow cooks the evenings offerings. I would go back for a cold beer and a pulled pork sandwich and maybe sneak in some bacon candy. I liked the place and we received excellent service from our waiter who I think was also tending bar inside.

It's ok, but the waitstaff is very young and really don't know what their doing. When the specialty drink is a root beer martini with loads of cream, sugar and a tiny bit of root beer flavored vodka, it's more of a sorority joint then a real BBQ place. I think the service is losing the business, this place could have potential with a real waitstaff.

Miller's is a great local restaurant. I never understand why it's not more crowded... But oh well that leaves more for us. They have really good food and drinks. We usually start with their Gorgonzola Chips. These are house made chips with Monterey cheese sauce, diced peppers, bacon, chives and Gorgonzola cheese. These are gluten free and amazing!!! Then I dive into Rich's Bulldawg Burger. This is a burger topped with smoked pork, onion ring and BBQ sauce. They are known for their BBQ, and boy is it good!! They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a fun, family place! Check out their website to find our who is going to be playing this weekend. You should give it a try, you won't be disappointed!!

I see a number of other reviews with people wondering why this place always seems empty. I think I know why... they're turning business away! We walked down to Miller's on Father's Day morning after hearing about their new brunch offerings. It was 9:00am or so and when we got there, the patio was mostly empty, maybe 3-4 tables taken. My wife chatted with the young woman hostess while I parked the stroller and tended to our 2yr old. As I approached, I overheard the hostess explain to my wife that their 6+ top tables were taken. Could we put two four tops together? We really wanted to sit out on their patio on such a beautiful morning. "No." was her reply. My wife offered that our party of 5 (including toddler) was fine to sit at a 4 top. We could just tuck our toddler in in the high chair at one of the corners. He'd already eaten and wouldn't be using the table anyway, we just needed to keep him seated with us and not running around. She said that would be fine, but the high chair can't block the walkways for the servers. "We're going to be really busy soon." Uh, ok. Sure that makes sense, I don't want to block the way or be an inconvenience, but this is a non-issue. Their uncomfortable wrought iron chairs stick out further than the high chair does, and we'd be tucking the high chair in between the parents at the corner of the table. It would not be in the way! My wife tried to lighten the situation and give them an out by jokingly asking if the fire marshall has been giving them a hard time. She didn't seem to get it, and then admitted to us that she had just turned away another family with a kid for the same reason. What!?! Yep. It turned out to be true. We met that family at The Post 30 minutes later. They were just as appalled as we were. At this point I got insistent. I told her that this was preposterous, in all my years of working in restaurants as a young man, and in visiting restaurants, never have I seen a restaurant not be willing to accommodate guests like this. I then insisted that she place a high chair at an available four top, and seat us. She yelled at me, "SIR!, SIR!" Just as I was about to demand to see the owner, my wife made the call that we shouldn't bother any longer and we should leave. And we did. And so Mrs. or Mr. Owner... You have a problem here. Bad customer service isn't an employee problem, it's a management problem. You have have an employee turning away business, rigid in her understanding of your rules, not willing to accommodate reasonable requests from your guests who want to be seated, partake in your offerings and GIVE YOU MONEY. She kept talking about all the customers that were going to be arriving that morning, while telling us loud and clear that we are not welcome, even though we were there to give you our business. Maybe this is fine by you and she was carrying out your orders exactly as you taught her. That's fine, it's your business, but you lost a customer today and I will make damn sure everyone I know hears about this. But if it's not, then you have your work cut out for you training this employee for customer service. Either way it's on your shoulders. And either way, you lost a local customer.

Been here a few times and each time has been a great experience. I've had several dishes, all have been above expectation and the prices and portions are great. I'd recommend a burger or any BBQ, and the awesome beer list is a bonus!

The first time we went to Millers grille, everything was great. Food, service, etc. this visit was very different. We went on a Sunday for a late breakfast. Around 10:45. After we were seated, we noticed our table was sticky. Our waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink. We said water and coffee, and asked her to wipe our table down. After a few minutes, She brought the water. We asked again to have our table cleaned. After About 15 minutes our coffee came. Once again, asked our waitress to clean our table. Finally she brought over a bar towel to wipe it down. Our coffee cups were getting low but she never offered more coffee. After about 40 minutes from when we sat down, our food was delivered, and we asked for more coffee. Mind you, there were 3 tables total inside the restaurant. We ordered an extra egg which we did not get but were charged for. (She did remove it when we told her about it) the food was ok but portions were small. The service here was much less than desirable.

Meh. That's about as well as I can put it. Not bad but not great. The brisket was tender but it was definitely lacking the smoke ring and traditional smoked flavor I have come to expect of brisket. The ribs were dry and the pulled pork tasted several days old and was even drier than the ribs. I'm a believer in the meat should be the flavor but this is the kind of place that you really need the sauce to provide anything flavorful. The sides were a little different and not to my liking. Perhaps I came on the wrong day but a Saturday afternoon seems like a time when you would want to have your best product out and available. The service was good but to be honest made me feel rushed. If you feel like paying premium prices for BBQ that doesn't quite meet the mark then so be it. It's a neat place with good ambiance but exceptional it is not. Next time I have hankering for BBQ I will drive up to Longmont for Georgia Boys or make it myself. For a burger and a beer stop by but skip the BBQ in my opinion.

We tried this place twice hoping the first time was just a fluke. Nope, it was just as bad the second time. The bbq was tough and cold. They got our order terribly wrong but we didn't raise a fuss. As we were sitting there with my son, a group of 6+ kids walked in totally trashed. I get it, I was a kid once too. The language and noise got so bad my wife had to leave with our son while I waited for the check. No body from the restaurant had the courage to take care of the situation...sad. To top it off, I was charged $12 for a double Whiskey and coke. I thought for a minute I was in Boulder. I really like the bar atmosphere and would like to support this place being from the Midwest myself. Unfortunately we will never be back.

Went for dinner with my wife hoping for some good BBQ but was really disappointed. The meat was over cooked, dry, tough, and flavorless. What made it worse was the disgusting house sauces that was drenched over it all. My wife got the peach cobbler for dessert but it was more of a peach cake with a random canned peach tossed in. The service was good, the place looked clean, but the food was bad enough to keep me away forever and to let everyone I meet know just how bad it was.

The 2nd star is for a nice patio and good beer selection, otherwise this would be a one star stop. The service here is atrociously bad and all 3 burgers at our table were severely over cooked, fries limp and sides never brought out. No lettuce, tomato or onion were served with the burgers either making for very boring burgers. The salad ordered with our group was decent, so I won't knock that. We had considered sitting indoors due to the bugs that have been out lately, but the stale stench and seriously dated feel pushed us outdoors. I wish we would've kept walking. I hope the owners read their reviews and work on some improvements. Lafayette seriously needs a good pub type place and Millers has the potential.

Nothing great, nothing horrible, just mediocre. Drove by many times and it was always closed. When we finally were there when it was open the service was very very slow. The food was just OK. Nothing special to it. Strange atmosphere, they have board games and it is a very loud open space. If you have never been and want to try it, go. But that will be the only time you go.

It was mediocre, at best, for me. The amount of meat on the brisket sandwich was laughable, a very thin layer hidden between two massive, dry slices of bottom-of-the-barrel white bun. Their specialty, homemade chips literally tasted like nothing, not even salt or grease. I asked the waitress what was in the mashed potatoes and she said she wasn't sure, but maybe just butter. Yes, maybe there is butter in there, somewhere, but nothing else. The most bland flavor you can imagine. Meat was tender enough, but didn't really have a smoked flavor, more of a "cooked in a crock-pot" kind of vibe, and they used it sparingly in all of our meals. I think they are confused about what a cobbler is, since theirs was just warmed up cake with microwaved frozen peaches mixed in. I know this because some of the peaches were blistering hot while others were still a bit frozen. And also, because cake and cobbler are not the same. Staff was decent, but our waitress dropped a knife on my toddler's head, which I'm trying really hard to get over because I know everyone drops things and kiddo wasn't hurt. But still, it was my toddler, and it was a knife. If it hit her differently, or if it fell on the right person's kid this place could be in big trouble. We were the only customers there, so rushing wasn't really necessary. The caramel sauce is amazing, and I would like to just buy a bucket and eat it every day. But since I will never be going back, I guess I'll just have to live without.

The reason it isn't more crowded is that most locals I talk to refuse to go there because the food can be mediocre at times and the service is almost always atrocious. Simply do not understand how they stay in business. Such a shame because they have the best deck/patio in town and it's not that hard to instill the attitude of good customer service.

LOVED the BBQ! I have to say with absolute sincerity that their BBQ blows LuLu's out of the water. Never had such delicious smoked chicken! Do yourself a favor and get their BBQ sampler platter when you go; you'll regret it otherwise! Only downside was the service; our server was a strange younger gal who meant well but just didn't deliver. On another occasion, we had the best server; one of a set of twins that works there. Both of the twins were sweet and did a great job.

Awesome lunch date with wife and kids. Staff is excellent. Sat outside on the deck with a beautiful Colorado day. Good prices on good draft beer. Upslope brown ale on tap won me over. Oldest daughter had the sliders with one of each meat smoked chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. She loved it paired with the choices of BBQ sauce and perfect house made potato chips. Wife had the cod fish n chips and was pleased. Little one had the kids Mac and cheese. Taste was great but it's made with large penne pasta which made it more work for her to eat. I had the BBQ bowl with brisket and it was very good and unique. Looking forward to trying the burgers next visit along with the bacon candy.

On 10/16/14 at 8pm, we were going to have Mexican at Efrain's (see previous review if interested), but we decided we might have a better experience across the street at Miller's. To be fair, we probably did have a better experience at Miller's than we would have at Efrain's. That being said, the manager removed our entrées from the bill because they were unenjoyable and we did not eat them. Here are the details... Miller's has a nice atmosphere, friendly management and waitstaff, and is an overall enjoyable place to eat. Better food would have made this a better experience. I drank sweet iced tea (delicious) and water (good). He drank a local dark beer, and he liked it. We ordered buffalo and BBQ wings as an appetizer, and we enjoyed them and ate them all. As for dinner, he ordered a full rack rib dinner, and I ordered a ribeye. I also ordered a kid's mac-n-cheese dinner, which came with a side of fries. I was disappointed that they don't have macaroni as a side (even though it's on the menu as an entrée), but the server pointed out that for $5, I could have the kid's mac and an extra side, so we chose fries as the side. We waited about 15-20 mins. for our dinner after we finished our appetizers, I guess for my steak to cook (even though it shouldn't have taken much longer than 7-10 mins). I wonder how long the sides and the ribs sat on the plates waiting for that steak to finish, because they were all cold. His: The ribs were hard and inedible. Our waitress did a great job (and got a $9 tip), and she overheard our conversation about his disappointment, and promptly worked to resolve things. She wanted to offer him something else, anything else, "People love the pork, these sandwiches are really good, I don't want you to be hungry!"She was very nice, but this was unresolvable, so we agreed that she should just take his dinner off of the bill. Mine: At this point, I had eaten some of the mac-n-cheese, which wasn't so great but could certainly have been worse, one bite of the steak, a few of the bland green beans, a few cold fries, and a small bite of cold mashed potatoes. My steak was chewy, though it was cooked to a perfect medium, as requested. After two bites, I decided that I would take it home and cut it up into cubes to make steak and eggs. It was not an enjoyable pieces of meat as the main course, but it would have been edible if I had reconstituted the steak in this way. I later decided that nothing was worth bringing home after the manager removed everything from the bill except for the appetizer and drinks after our waitress informed her that we didn't eat anything. They did their best to ensure that we would come back to try the pork or the brisket (which they ran out of that day), but despite their best efforts, there is no way in hell that we are trying this place again. Then we went to Subway. That was predictably edible, though the sandwich maker was too high, and hubby had to give instructions on how to make the sandwich, which fell apart as soon as he opened the wrapper.

Patio is great. Beer is great. Bacon candy for an appetizer, was ok. The idea of bacon candy however is amazing so props for offering it! Servers have been spectacular! Very attentive, kept checking in. They were short a chef so they apologized ahead of time for the delay with the food. I didn't mind at all because they didn't hide but came out and said something. HOWEVER, I've read other reviews that have said service was slow because people were out. So it could be their thing. I'll be honest, weather is great and the music is good so I'm just fine sitting here drinking my Nitro, milk stout from Left Hand Brewing. Food: Carolina chicken was good with the sauce. Cole Slaw was meh. Baked beans were meh. Corn bread was good. Look. I will be back but not for the food. Just to chill.

Worst attempt at bbq I've ever had.. The brisket was cold, and very chewy, and the grill marks on it show their poor attempt to reheat it was a huge failure. The ribs were very chewy and inedible. The cornbread was very dry, the only average food I found was the mashed potatoes, provided I added my fair share of salt to them... Do not listen to your stomach when you drive by and smell the bbq.. Thank god for the bud light.

Ok, Lafayette isn't exactly the place you think of when you and your social support system want to go and spread a little cheer. In fact, Lafayette could be the only place a flash mob would be "spectator less". It just seems, there's just not a lot going on. Ah, but this little sleepy town is starting to come alive. And recently after a few of us finished tearing into tortilla filled food, we made the stroll across the street to a nice quiet little place called Miller's Down Under Grille. It's in the basement, crypt, cellar of Miller's Grille. We had no idea; we were just looking for a place to have a nightcap and chat. What we found were friendly locals and a great friendly bar tender. PBR was on special and they have a great selection of local brews. It looks like an open mic comedy show is starting back up, might be worth checking out. A word of caution, since this place is located in a basement, the stairs (apparently) are hard to navigate as witnesses by an over zealous local drinker who was returning from the restroom. We gave him a 6 on the dismount.

Great beer! Excellent food! I haven't had a better experience. I'm glad that they changed their menu from an upscale steak house to a spectacular BBQ. We are working our way through the menu and haven't had anything that we didn't love. It's a tad pricey for BBQ, but well worth it.

Everything was excellent! The chips are perfectly fried, the dill pickles were crunchy, the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was filling and tasty, and the pulled pork sandwich was excellent. Moreover, the homemade sauces were perfect! The service was quick and friendly. Great staff and excellent food. My husband and I will definitely be back.

I took friends to this restaurant right before Christmas and the whole experience was horrible! The service was loust and took almost an hour to get our dinner. When it came, we had to send back two of the entrees, the ribs were black on the outside and raw i side...had the taste of burned, uncooked pork. The brisket salad was ridiculously awful, skices of brisket that looked gray as if they had been pan fired but not browned, laid on top of the salad so that the salad was totally limo and warm underneath...so un-appetizing! Needless to say we won't be back. Miller Grill used to be a good place to eat and hang out....but not now!

I was so looking forward to going to Miller's and I was extremely disappointed. It was sympathy to give this restaurant 2 stars. Miller's charges prices that would ok if the food was excellent. The prices matched eating at restaurants by famous chefs that I have been to. Unfortunately nothing that my friend and I ordered was even mediocre. The homemade chips sounded good, they weren't. Instead of being crisp they were dried out, flavorless and odd tasting. My friend got a corn muffin that was the size I used to make in my easy bake oven. My sandwich, a Ruben had a few streams sauerkraut and a dressing that I assumed was mayonnaise and catsup. The sandwich was soggy the beef was tender but tasteless and cut too thick. The only positive thing I have to say is the porch patio was very pleasant. Inside dining was another thing, it reminded me of old time sleazy bars. It was so dark on this beautiful sunny day that it was depressing to even walk through there. I almost never write reviews, but I was so disappointed in this restaurant it made me angry. I wish Aaron Bennett, a great chef, would come back to Lafayette.

I had the BBQ bowl with brisket and hot links. That combo is not on the menu, but the server happily accepted my request. The meat was piled high on top of quite tasty mashed potatoes and gravy with grilled corn kernels. While the hot links were delicious and perfectly spicy, I found the brisket to be a bit chewy and bland. They have a great beer selection, and the atmosphere is perfect for a BBQ joint. I'll certainly be going back to Millers, but I'll likely steer clear of the brisket.

We saw this place just taking a walk down the street, it look like a good place to stop in and try, well we should have kept going. I ordered the blackened blue burger and my friend ordered to breakfast burger we both ordered them medium, mine was Raw and my friends was so well done it was burnt and couldn't be eaten The waitress was very nice about it and she said she would talk to the manager I don't know if she did or not the restaurant was not busy at all so why didn't the manager come talk to us I don't know ( manage up) So I got 2 burgers that we could not eat and all they would give us was a piece of peach cobbler you would have thought for the price of the burger which was way over priced at 11 dollars they should have comped at least one if them I don't think that we will be back way over priced for what you get.

Interesting menu. They use bacon in a lot of places and I fully support that! I got the double bacon BLT. It was good, not great, but ultimately quite satisfying. Service also wasn't great, but it seemed from my eavesdropping on the server conversation that someone was late or sick. Great patio! Wanted to sit outside for lunch but alas it started raining. The indoors is perfectly setup for evening, but it was a little too dark and bar-like for a lunch setting. I would recommend to a friend to try, and I'm going to give it another shot for dinner to really take advantage of the atmosphere.

Millers Grille is the place to go for good barbeque meal. The food is always nicely prepared and tasty! Th front deck is the perfect place to enjoy your barbecue and drink on a summer evening. I usually end up getting the pulled pork, but my family has enjoyed the beef plate and the combo dishes. The glitches in service are one area where they could work on. The servers are friendly, but they often forget a side or a drink order and don't check back very often.

We had a great night out at Millers. The service was great, the food was tasty and there's great ambiance. It's locally owned and while it's recently opened, I think it's a great Lafayette addition. I loved that their draft beers were Colorado beers and the burger with bacon and brie was decadent and delicious. The sweet potato fries we chose as our main side were crispy and good and the side salad was decent. Service was on point for the whole meal. With a patio, dining room, bar and downstairs area there's lots of spaces to choose from and with daily deals and friendly staff, we will definitely be back!

My friend and I went there on a Sunday around 2:30 pm, and it was empty, which was a bit of a surprise, but not too shocking given the hour and the snowy weather. I ordered a half-rack of baby-back ribs and my friend ordered the pulled-pork sandwich. Both were dry but fairly tasty. I liked the fries, which I can say without reservation; my friend got potato chips as her side and she really liked those. The cole slaw was sad. It was wilted and dry and tasteless; it looked like they forgot the liquid part of the recipe or skimped on it so much as to negate its existence.

BBQ, Burgers and Beer. I'd add in a small town patio. There was an ample selection of beer and it was cold. Daughter had a burger and claimed it was good. The reason that I come to write a review however is the BBQ. There are a lot of folks doing BBQ these days and a bunch doing it poorly while others do it quite well. Millers has both ends covered. I had a sampling of chicken, ribs, pork and brisket. Yes I was stuffed. The brisket was solid grey had a fair amount of fat, no smoke ring and no smoke flavor. This meat had obviously never seen the inside of a smoker. Certainly low and slow would have rendered the fat and gave it a better texture as well. Similarly the pork was, well pork. No smoke flavor and no bark. I am guessing that it too never saw the burnt end of a stick. That's the bad news. They cheat. Hopefully it is temporary. The better news is is the chicken was well prepared and though it also had zero smoke flavor it was pretty good when paired the the fantastic sauces that made even the pork and brisket bearable. The good news was the ribs. The bones were tremendously cooked and seasoned. Perfect taste with just a glaze of sauce and a great smoke flavor. The only drawback was perhaps the fire had gotten away at some point during the cook, but I was thrilled to taste that there had at least been a legit cook. Service was great, beer was cold, atmosphere good and I could easily see them pulling their Q act together. Though I wonder why they have resorted to cheating already. They obviously have skills. Not sure why they choose to fail at brisket and pork. If you are not going to Q it, don't offer it. I'll give it another go at some point , but I hope their other meats catch up to the ribs. I could easily give two stars, they probably deserve 2.5 but I actually enjoyed the experience so I'm giving three.

Great local place for BBQ! I had the BBQ bowl for lunch today and it was awesome! The place was busy for lunch so the servers were a little distracted and not quite on the ball but they were friendly. There is a nice patio and dining area inside. Check it out!

Went for weekday lunch with my husband. I had the Smoked Brisket Philly, and while it was tasty, the brisket was tough and most of the sandwich was bread - super thick bread. Husband had Lew's Hawkeye Pork Sandwich, which he loved! Service was excellent. But prices are a little high for lunch, even though the portions are HUGE. Wish they had a lunch menu or lunch specials at least. Will be back to try ribs or something besides brisket. But at these prices and OK food, not too many times.

Ok, I would give this place another half star if I could. Returned and things had changed up for the better :) The atmosphere changed up a bit: not so Tutti's--cool black and white historic pics of Lafayette on the wall. Menu has been updated, but no awesome GF Desserts... Service was friendly.

Local Love I've only been here once and I must say that Miller's Grille treated us well this time around. The main patio area seems to be the hot spot on Public Rd. I just wish that there were more places like this down the Old Town Lafayette strip. The inside isn't huge but plentiful indeed. Upon walking in I got a nice rustic feel especially since they had some live bluegrass music going on. We were there while the group was practicing and members were trickling in. It was great even though it wasn't their actual set. I believe that we were served by the bartender and he was sweet. He took real good care of us with our beer selections and offered tasters to some selections on tap. The food was of fair quality, but you can tell that they're trying to impress. I wasn't feeling the eggplant sliders or the portobello mushroom sandwich I ordered. I would definitely try other things on the menu because I feel like they have something great to offer as long as you find your signature Miller's dish! I loved the risotto because of the healthy twist of the added butternut squash. The small garnish of fried onion straws atop this cheesy and creamy mixture was awesome. Aside from the food and the killer risotto, I also love how they try to bring the place to life with live music and themed nights. Get this, they even had their own peach festivities last weekend while the majority of the street their on was closed off for the Peach Festival. Peach beverages & peach plates. So cute! Two thumbs up for the beer selection, live music, and local culture! Oh, and how can I forget the risotto?? I hope it never disappoints.

Their portabella swiss burger is pretty ordinary for the $10 they charge. It came on a standard untoasted white sesame bun with lettuce and tomato. The vegetarian patty (a $1 up charge) is not homemade. I know because I've bought these patties at Costco. It also came with a side of potato chips, which were bland and chewy. My girlfriend ordered a salad. The lettuce was brown and unappetizing. On the upside, they have an ok (just ok) beer list.

Amazing food, wonderful drinks, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. The Burgers, chilli and fish and onion rings are great. Very casual atmosphere. Probably would not take a vegetarian here. My boyfriend likes the microbrews on tap, and I love the Bloody Mary's and Long Island Ice Tea. There is a porch which I believe allows calm and well behaved dogs.

I've gone to Miller's a few times over the past month and have been very pleased. We took the kids for a early dinner on a Friday, and I've been on a Saturday with friends, and a few times on my own for lunch. I've been happy so far. I kind of though it was just a Barbecue Joint. I did not realize that they had such an expanded menu. We have had really good brisket, pork, sliders, and I have had an excellent Rubin and a really good fish sandwich. The sides are very good (but small portions). The portions are a little small for the price, but pretty good overall. I have not been downstairs yet, so I am not sure what that is like, but we will defiantly be going back soon.

Terrible service, really hoping this place turns around. Had to wait to receive a place setting (after we had eaten half of our dinners), had to ask for waters, and then waited 15 minutes to settle our bill (this is after we had given our credit card to our server). The food was ok, but because of the service I'm not sure I'd return anytime soon.

I checked out Miller's Grille recently for the first time with some local friends. I was invited to come for dinner and then the comedy show. There seemed to be a pretty descent crowd for the show, which was in the cellar room. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger, Parmesan garlic fries and a specialty drink. The drink was too expensive for this town, and this gal, but good nonetheless. The burger was large and done perfectly, but the fries were kinda weak on taste. They lacked the flavor of both. There were whole, soft cloves of garlic scattered among the fries, yet upon eating the cloves, I found them too mild, not garlicy at all (roasted garlic can be this way). As for the Parmesan, uh, I didn't see any on the fries. When the waitress came back to check on us, I mentioned the flavorless fries. Within minutes I was presented with a new order that were far better in flavor. Maybe they just needed more of both on them. I still had to add salt and pepper though. In this day and age, I'd prefer to salt and pepper my food to my tastes rather than have them come out already too salty. Plus, so many people are watching their salt intake; so, I'm not complaining about the lack of salt on the fries. All in all, the food was pretty good and not too pricey. Our service was wonderful too. Wish I could remember her name. I think it was Rachel, but I'm terrible with names and my receipt doesn't have her name on it. Oh well, I remember she said she was from Texas originally. Sweet young woman. As for the comedians, well, I've seen better. I didn't much like them, and I'm not hard to please. I've just heard enough of bad sex jokes to last me a lifetime. I noticed there were games and a pool table down there and some other games upstairs (board style ones?) to keep people entertained. Think I'll come back another time to play some of these with my friends. According to the events board, it looks like they have Game Night there every Monday night, Live Bluegrass music and Open Mic every Thursday, and other live music bands playing on other nights. This looks like a nice place to spend some time on a shaded patio too. I'll definitely come back again with my friends for these other things.

I recently lived in Lafayette for the first time. One night on my bicycle, trying to scout out the local watering holes, I discovered a full bluegrass band playing inside of a bar named Miller's Grille. I jumped off my bike and ran up to the bar, where I had an extremely fun night with the whole staff and bluegrass players, who are a group of community members that meet every Thursday night! The owner himself (Chris) served me some drinks as we hung out with the musicians, and when I came back the next time, the basement was stuffed full of awesomeness! Darts, pinball, another bar, pool tables, that digital golf game, lots of fun! Every time I went in, alone or with friends, the staff remembered my name and could recommend fancy beers based on what I'd drank there before. I love this bar and everyone who works there! Highly recommend it!

Had a very good experience at Miller's Grille. The hamburger was excellent!!!! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and it was very good also. It was very moist and tender. I highly recommend this place for a nice causal meal.

so I gave Millers Grill another chance...I'd like to give it a ZERO. Food was not edible(I'd love to know who they buy food from, so I can see if they buy quality stuff or crap). when the waitress came back to see if we needed anything she notice none of the 4 of us ate anything, she offered to wrap it to go. My wife said she wouldn't even feed it to our dog. The waitress told us she's heard that a lot lately... A WASTED $75...we left and had a burger at Karz (who was having a car show, very busy and good food and friendly service) I never thought I miss Tutti.... the good news is that Pinochios is no longer my least favorite restaurant in Lafayette I don't know if the owners read yelp, or care about reviews, but come on you cant be blind. You opened strong, with good food and good service. In less than 6 months you have neither. It looks better, but runs worse.....think of the things you've changed, and change back. If you have good food, but bad service, people will still come (Tutti was evidence of this) But if neither is good, I hope you have deep pockets, because my guess is that you won't make it a year if you continue in this direction

As a business owner myself I really do want business owners to succeed. Unfortunately this place, at least on the day that I ate there, was absolutely terrible. While Miller's Grille touts itself as a BBQ place, I grabbed the fish and chips. Perhaps Miller's Grille is better suited for BBQ and should leave fish and chips to a place that can execute this very simple dish. A customer will first note that the dish is priced at $14.95. Well above market value - even for places that do it sufficiently. The diner will next notice that the type of fish itself is left undefined. Am I paying this much for cod? Or am I paying an absurd premium for haddock or some other second-rate fish. Unsurprisingly, the waitress didn't know. And by the way, the batter is totally unseasoned and flavorless. Finally, fish and chips is a meal in which both the fries and the fish matter. The fries were cold hard and gross. It was as if they took fries out of the fridge from the night before, heated them in a microwave and served them on a plate. Is it that hard to make fries to order when frying up the fish? Miller's recently restructured itself. Too bad they didn't do it well.

The first time we went to this place, after it changed hands from Tutti's, the food and wait staff was nothing to write home about but adequate. By our second visit, months later, service and food had already gone downhill. The waiter was also playing bartender, had never heard of a Jameson and ginger, and stopped to chat with his friends at another table before heading to make our drinks. Then he returned to the table because he'd forgotten what we ordered. Nice, friendly guy but maybe not the best choice for bartending. When the food arrived, the pasta was overcooked and dry, and the salads were skimpy and made with iceberg lettuce. Who serves iceberg lettuce in this part of Colorado?! We're not going back.

Finally, a late night place in Old Town Lafayette! Great! We went to Miller's Down Under - the bar under the Grille - last Saturday night. The drinks we great, the bartender friendly, and they even had the kitchen open for a late night menu. There were people playing pool, pinball and old school video games - what a nice atmosphere. Update: They have since made a lot of changes to the patio, menu and service. The fam and I tried it again and had a completely different experience. Much better now! We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio, and the tall chairs and tables are a nice touch, but a few umbrellas outside would be very welcomed. Also, the seats on the tall chairs are covered in a very heavy tweed, which makes for a sweaty behind on a warm day. Not very well thought out, in my opinion. Service was decent, although 10 minutes after ordering, our server (who did not bother to write anything down) came back and said that the kitchen "lost our ticket". He never offered us more water, or to get us another beer during our meal. 35 minutes later our food arrived. It was warm, although my son's french fries were barely cooked. Took another 15 minutes to get a replacement, and they had a ton of strange italian seasoning dumped on top of them. When I pointed this out to the server he said "I told them it was for a kid, they shouldn't have put that on top". No apology, no offer of another order, no offer to take something off the bill. So we paid $4 for a ramekin of macaroni and cheese. The other food was nothing to write home to mama about. I had the eggplant sliders, which were pretty good, and my husband's burger was just okay. Kind of a disappointment to what could have been a great hang-out in downtown Lafayette. I miss Tutti.

I have been on several occasions, and have never had an issue. The food has always been great and the service great as well. I have yet to have a snotty waiter/waitress, and food has always been prompt, (but I am usually not in a hurry and enjoy chatting with whom I am dining). I have brought large groups as well, with no issues whatsoever. The patio is a great place to unwind. We always take our guests to Miller's and we have always been completely satisfied. I also enjoy the live music on the patio!

It doesn't get any better. This was recommended to me by a friend. I'll recommend it to everyone. I'm from the East coast and I've eaten a lot of seafood. I'm always a bit hesitant ordering seafood in land locked Colorado. The scallops are simply the best I've ever had. The service was outstanding, the management was friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, the price is right. There were four in my party and we all ordered something different, then we all ended up sharing because each of us claimed to have ordered the best meal on the menu. You could close your eyes and just point to anything on the menu and not be disappointed. We'll be going back.

Used to go to this place when it was Tutti's which had slow service but good food. Now it has slow service and the food is so bad they must have a cook from the penitentiary. Everything on the plate tasted like left overs that were in the fridge for a week, not kidding. The meat loaf was just so terrible it is hard to imagine a cook could even make something (yes something, not sure what) so tasteless and covered it with a disgusting BBQ sauce that for sure came out of a bottle that's been in the back of the fridge since they opened. Cole slaw actually had a rotten fermented taste like it was left in a window all day and put back in the fridge, no joke. I had one bite of each and only hope I don't get the runs tonight. The people who bought this place are in the construction business, they should stick to that as this place will be gone before the end of the summer. I really can't believe the owners have ever eaten the food they are serving because if they did the chief (LOL) would be out of a cooking job and going back to cleaning porta potties. The taste and quality of Millers grill food is compariable to what the homeless dumpster divers eat but worse, and that's where their food belongs, IN THE TRASH!

Possible the worst meal I have had in a long, long time, The "Special" was Turf & Surf the night I went there. The Turf consisted of a 6oz pan seared piece of meat that shouldn't have been used to make beef stock. It was Tough and had large pieces of tendon running through it. I ordered it rare and it came out medium at best. I was told that is was suppose to be Top Sirloin. It was anything but "Top". The Surf portion of the meal was fresh scallops. They were able to use scallops in the plural form only because I was served Two. They were pan seared also with potatoes so it looked like there were more than what there was. Since scallops and potatoes are similar in color I guess. All this for the price of $16.95. The waitress forgot to bring one of our group her coffee. She never did get it. We asked for extra plates for our desert and had to wait for at least 3-5 minutes. I told one of the staff that was clearing off the plates that the steak was not what they had said it was. There was nobody from the restaurant that came over to ask if there was a problem. Later in the evening when it started getting dark, two flood lights came on and blinded one of our party to the point we had to move to another table so she could see. The only reason I give them one star is because I can't give them less. The other members of my party ordered fish dishes and were pleased with their selections. I for one will not return to Millers Grille.
