While no longer taking part in their services (for now--went back to school and just can't afford it), while I did have their delivery I was always very satisfied. For what you get, I feel the variety is reasonable for the price. I did most of my shopping at Whole Foods (or Vitamin Cottage) and the variety of organic produce (for a one-person household vegetarian cook) worked out well. My favorite feature is (through the website) you can pick and choose what you'd like to receive. I was never a fan of the bunches of spinach (call me lazy but I just buy in-bag), so I could swap that out for extra carrots or apples, you get the point. Also, I think it's fantastic that they strive to stay local and seasonal--takes the guess work out of sourcing your produce and whether or not it's in season. I hope to go back to DtD some day; their produce was always good quality. I definitely recommend them to Yelpers and to people I encounter outside the internet as well :)

I have been using Door-to-Door Organics for years. They have always done the customizable box with the ability to substitute items. A newer feature for me was the ability to add cheeses, additional fruits and veggies, and other grocery items. I recently moved to a new neighborhood and whoever does the delivering there is very consistent and reliable. As I finally have a large yard, I'll probably decrease the size of my box in the summer and fall (I love to garden). I love the convenience of fresh vegetables delivered to my door year round!

After trying another local organic produce company and not being satisfied, I switched to Door to Door Organics and have been so happy I made the switch! I've been a customer for nearly two years, and the service and products just keeping better. The produce is such high quality, and it's much better and cheaper than what you can find in the stores. I think the prices of their non-produce products are on par with Whole Foods and other stores. They feature so many great local products, too. Their poultry and other meat products are great quality. You can really tell a difference between organic and non-organic! They try to source as much local produce as possible during the summer. The service offers flexibility, meaning you are able to swap out products, change the size of your delivery, and change the delivery frequency. They offer a wide range variety in fruits and veggies, and I've enjoyed trying new recipes with things that I would not normally try. They now even offer recipe ideas, too! On the rare instances when something is damaged, Door to Door Organics gives you a credit - no questions asked. Any customer service questions receive quick, friendly responses. The service saves you time and money, and I highly recommend it. I love not having to go to the store weekly for produce and other odds-and-ends. It saves me gas, time, and money (especially since I'm not picking up other random things that I don't need).

All I can say is I LOVE it!! Great quality and SO convenient!!

The bad reviews for this company, especially from Colorado costumers is bizarre to me. I think sometimes the I have been with D2D for at least one year now. Previously, I would buy organic at the local Natural Grocers, organic at King Soopers or Sams Club. I know before D2D, my monthly grocery bill was at least $900/month for my family of 4. After door to door, I am spending now more than $100/week, often less, so in my opinion, not only does D2D save me time (which is beyond awesome and seriously, who wants to go grocery shopping with kids?!) but it is saving me money. How people can say it is as expensive as Whole Foods blows my mind. Second, the quality. In the last year, there have been 3, only 3 issues I have had. Two were bad produce, I called and I was credited right away. The third was their glass bottled milk (which is the cheapest and most local organic milk around), that was going bad before the expiration date. I just wanted them to know my experience and since I have called, not one bottle has been bad. They are extreme in their level of awesome customer service and care! If you compare D2D to bountiful baskets, which I used to use, it is apples and oranges. Or nice apples and moldy oranges. D2D produce is always amazing quality, tomatoes are firm, strawberries are ripe and my bananas usually last a week. With bountiful baskets, without fail, every organic box would have at least one bad item in it. And if you are the last person to pick up at BB organic box, too bad, so sad, no exchanges. There is no comparison. D2D is hands down, much better. Lastly, we get this biggest mixed box as I am a vegetarian and we mostly eat vegetarian meals. For this family of four, it is usually enough, although I sometimes have to add to make it last a week. All the prices for produce are very reasonable.
(5)Mardi J.
I got deliveries from Door to Door awhile back, but we decided to stop because a lot of the deliveries contained produce that was under-ripe. After about a year off, I got an offer to try again, so I went ahead and had a bitty box of fruit delivered. This time, half of the fruit had mold on it when we received it. I emailed them to let them know of the issue and that I wasn't pleased with the service and the response was "Thanks for giving it another shot. I'm sorry it didn't work out. I've made sure you won't be charged for that box." Ok.. the box was a special, so the charge was minimal.. but seriously? You run specials to try to gain customers back, deliver rotten produce, then respond with 'oh well, too bad'. Not exactly what I would call awesome customer service or product. I think I'll just continue my trips to the grocery store and farmer's market.
(1)Talia H.
I took a break for a while since I wasn't using all the produce in the bitty and I thought it was getting a little expensive. They were really great and helpful and we put my account on hold. I went overseas and just got back. Now I am excited to start up again. I was impressed with their website updates. I got a chill of excitement planning my first box... I just can't wait. Hoping to put together a co-op soon! :)
(5)Katrina S.
Love the convenience and variety these guys provide! Astounding produce and quality customer service. Thank you!

Never in my life have I ever picked up a head of cabbage and wanted to bite into it like it was a solid milk chocolate bunny ... until now. Seriously D2D - no one would believe my cabbage was steroid free, it's a total organic hall of famer! I've only had 2 deliveries thus far, however, I made it a point to Yelp because I found D2D after having a less than fantastical experience with one of their competitors. I'm disabled, I don't drive often, and trips to Whole Foods or Sprouts are amazing but there's just too much space between them. I've always despised the idea of someone else picking my ish, as my belly grumbles in a different pitch than any stranger's, but it is necessary for me to eat organic when at all possible so here I am ... I LOVE the idea of the weekly box, it's one less chore for me and this week I forgot to log in and change my preferences but when I received my bitty - I realized my memory lapse did me a favor. The things I would've changed, gave me the option to try something new (lets face it, an all natural diet gets stupid after a while). I also love the add-on options as they encourage me to buy additional items that I could live without, but enjoy living with (NOTE TO NEW USERS: THE "NEVER SHOP HUNGRY" RULE APPLIES TO ONLINE AS WELL) and again, saves me from a painful trip to the store. It's rare that my endorsements of the century hold my 5 star attention, but hopes are high for D2D. Thank you for rocking my organic world.

Convenience is everything. I recently had gotten to the point that I was spending $25/day on breakfast and lunch outside of the house. For breakfast...I would run through a chick fil a in the morning to order fruit cups and milk for school aged children then at work I would run down to the coffee shop for a bagel and coffee. Sometimes I'd grab a bottle of minute maid juice at the coffee shop as well since I felt poorly nourished. Yes, it was awful - the long hours and over scheduling were ruining my health. Enter Door to Door Organics... We started with the bitty box for $26. Rationally I know it's more expensive than the grocery store but my real comparison is to my actual behavior. We didn't stop at a fast food restaurant at all our first week. I've now upgraded to a large box ($60). I feel like I'm being gifted a fruit basket every week. We all feel so much healthier and happier now. I hope they keep up the quality and service. It's been a game changer for me.

We have been eating very healthy for a few years now but never lived in a location that provided this kind of service, until now. First I have to say the convenience factor is a huge plus. I am a stay at home mother to three girls and battle MS, so it's important to provide healthy affordable options for myself and my family's dietary needs. This service is amazing. Just got my first order and everything was there, it was all fresh, and after juicing some of it it was delicious. Price is comparable to organic produce found in the store, but without the hassle of getting all my little ones dressed, out the door, in the store, and back home. The experience of opening the boxes was also exciting to my girls adding to their curiosity to try what was within. My littlest one put away an orange and beet juice I made with what came right after receiving my order. The delivery man was extremely friendly and let me know they'll recycle the packaging, I just have to leave it out when they drop off my next shipment. This is an amazing service, one I'll be using regularly.

I love Door to Door organics. We received a box from a similar service when we lived in NC, but I got very tired of the lack of variety and the proliferation of turnips and rutabagas and turnips and rutabagas. With Door to Door Organics, you can review your list of items and substitute or add items from a very large selection, including meats, eggs, produce, dairy, baked goods, etc. The selection includes items that are not locally grown, but organic and that I would purchase at the supermarket, such as bananas (unless they are being grown in Colorado now . . . ) The produce has always been absolutely fresh and I love having cage-free pasture eggs--they are the best! We have one small Safeway store in our small mountain town, and it is 40 minutes to Whole Foods and a bigger Safeway. Our local store does not carry lacinato kale and a number of other things that are available from Door to Door. We love lacinato kale and I have been thrilled to have it available every week so far. I am also astonished that Door to Door delivers to us at all! The only reason I gave Door to Door four stars instead of five (and if I could I would give four and a half) is because two out of the three boxes we have received had items missing (avocados one week; figs another) and substitutions that we did not request, such as a watermelon substituted for a cantaloupe. The substitutions have so far been tasty enough, but it's disappointing when we are planning a meal with avocados or figs and end up having to go to the store after all because we did not get any in the box. Customer service in response to the missing items has been fine--it's just a bit of a pain. I'll revisit the service after a few weeks and change the rating and edit the review if things improve. Now, if Door to Door could only start carrying Colorado wine!
(4)Fred W.
We started using D2D a few weeks ago and have received our second delivery. I'm compelled already to write a review as we're really happy with the quality and our delivery guy is as nice as can be. (I forgot his name already) My wife states the website is really easy to use and she is completely sold on the product/business. As far as cost, we put it on par with Whole Foods but without the gas, tire wear, parking and weather expenses/hassles.
(5)Brittany B.
My husband and I have been receiving the bitty box once a week for several months now and I can't say enough good things about it! The produce is always really high quality and I like that I am able to fill out lists of my preferences. One of the best unexpected benefits has been that I try new things that I wouldn't have picked up at the store. This variety is great for health and for preventing food boredom. I save trips to the store and we are continually stocked with fresh food! The online system works so well and is easy to use. The deliveries are completely reliable and they even make their way inside my gated community to my front door without any hassle (this was far from the case with Mile High Organics who made a big deal about it and had no way of gathering my information about the best way to get in). I also add in grocery items often. They have a great selection of grass-fed beef along with a number of other great items. The prices are typically comparable and sometimes slightly higher than Natural Grocers but considering the free delivery, this slight extra cost is totally fair and worth it. I don't have a single thing to say about Door to Door Organics that is not a huge praise!
(5)Laurie S.
Pretty impressive! I signed up for the service and I was pretty hesitant, so glad that I did! There really isn't a great place to shop nearby that is convenient so I figured why not, I'll give them a shot. My plan was to leave a cooler out for the delivery to be put into so it wouldn't get warm, and I totally forgot. I called the customer service number and the gal on the phone was super nice. She told me no problem, and she was right. No problem! I got home to a nicely packed box of produce and cheese, all of which were cool, no warm spots! The produce that I received was amazing, it was high quality and stuff that I would have hand selected had I picked it myself from the market. I am extremely pleased! I will try and order some meats next time, initially I was concerned about keeping them cool, but now that I know how they pack things with ice packs and cold pouches I know I'll be in good shape. Seriously a valuable and convenient service, well worth the price!

Overall, I think this is a great company providing a great service: organic produce and food delivery. When used correctly, this service keeps me out of the grocery store buying what I refer to as "fringe items" (stupid crap I don't need and shouldn't be buying in the first place). However, I've had to put grocery shopping back on the itinerary lately as it has become imperative that I read labels. Unfortunately, Door to Door is light on the ingredient listing and nutritional info for some of their more processed/packaged foods so it's hard to tell if there's any sweetener, etc in the almond milk (or whatever) that they offer. Plus, items like almond milk and coconut milk are substantially spendier than Whole Foods (where there's usually a 2 for $4 deal on something). I believe they're making efforts to improve this for 2013 so that's much appreciated. I do like the subbing system they use when they release a list of the contents of your box the Friday before delivery day. You can also update your preferences to show what you like to get and what you never want to get and your weekly (or in my case, bi-weekly) box is designed loosely based on your preferences. Once the content list is made available, you can then sub up to half the items for something else. I usually always opt for more bananas and have found them to be the best bang for your unwanted grapefruit. The quantities are sometimes misleading, especially when it comes to potatoes. Once I swapped something for Yukon gold potato and got just that: one small yukon gold potato. It was probably my fault for not reading the quantity correctly, but they shouldn't have dumb quantities in the first place. I can see receiving one Russet potato, but I've never came across a recipe where a potato is basically used as a seasoning as one Yukon gold potato would imply. Also, I've pretty much stopped subbing my other items for avocados. They're always really sad. Whenever I open up my bi-weekly box and pull the avocado out, I envision an angry box packing guy manhandling the poor fragile fruit. Avocado is the food of gods and doesn't deserve that kind of treatment. The main reason I keep on keeping on with my order is the eggs. They offer Cottonwood Creek eggs (local and delicious) that were previously only available at farmers markets for $5 a dozen. They're great and they pack them well enough that I've never had a broken one. If I could be set up on an entirely ala carte service for these awesome eggs, I'd be a very happy lady.

I signed up for this service about a month after Baby N was born because I was tired of missing out on eating fresh fruits and veggies and getting to a grocery store seemed to be an impossible task. I'm so glad that I did at this point. Not only do Sir Nicholas and I enjoy the bitty box ($25 each week for about 9 different items ranging from something like 1 butternut squash to 5 bananas), but I'm using all the fresh produce weekly to make some of Baby N's food as well. There are lots of things I love about the service such as: + The ability to order different sized boxes for different prices + The fact that I can make up to 5 substitutions if what they originally schedule for my box doesn't jive with my tastebuds. + The fact that I can put items in either a list titled "Produce I think is awesome" or "Produce I don't want" to make sure I'm getting as much good-to-me stuff as possible. + The fact that I can skip any week in my own account in my settings + The fact that I pick the delivery day and location + The fact that I can order other kitchen items like eggs, meat, bread, etc. It's really a lovely service and I've not had a bad produce item in the past 5 months, which is awesome. I'd highly recommend using this service if you don't like going to the grocery store, or just don't have a ton of time like me.

This is such a great convenience and concept! Healthy organic food (much of it local) delivered to your door! YAY! I love guilt free convenience! :-D Additionally, they also have the freshest organic milk which you can include in your delivery. Perfect for my milk drinkers. Our family enjoys the bitty box every week and it has helped us broaden our horizons! While you can make substitutions, we like trying things we are less familiar with. I count on the variety as well as my staples that they deliver every week. About a month ago we received celery root in our box. We had fun looking up recipes and ideas on how to enjoy it since we had never before attempted to cook one! I recommend this for anyone who wants to have farmer's market fare delivered to your door...even in the burbs!
(5)Leslie K.
I signed up for a bitty box (for approx 2 people) when I got a discount through a third party. It was just one box, to see if I like it and find out how often I will need new ones. Once you sign up they send you an email explaining what you will get in this week's shipment. On delivery day, I was actually home when the drop off occurred. As I opened the door to retrieve my box, the delivery person thanked me for my business! Who does that?! I love that they include information on how to store the produce that is provided. I also think that for the price, you do get a decent amount of organic food, with the convenience of not having to do the shopping.
(4)Brittany H.
Groupon introduced me to Door to Door Organics with a great deal: a "small" box of fresh, delicious fruits and veggies, delivered to your door! The small box was plenty for two people for two weeks! I really enjoy this concept, but unfortunately, I find it is better if I go and choose my own produce from the grocery store for a little cheaper. But if I had a few extra bucks in my pocket these days, I'd certainly continue with this service, which supports local farmers when they can! Make sure you get the blueberries whenever you can with DTDO: they're the best I've ever had here in CO!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. There are so many benefits just to having food delivered to your door - it saves so much time vs. going to the grocery store. But Door to Door organics is a great company and has obvious benefits over the competition. The food is high quality, organics and often times local. Everything we have gotten has been delicious. Last week, our green leaf lettuce was wilted when I opened the box. I simply sent an email and they gave me a $4 credit for the lettuce. It was so easy to address the problem and they were so friendly. Also, the woman who delivers my boxes every week is super friendly as well. We are a couple and started with the mixed bitty box the first week and have switched to the mixed small box since then. It really just depends on how much you eat. We have tried new foods that I never would have thought to pick up at the store before. Pluots, kale, beets, etc. It has added such variety to our diets. In addition to the produce, we have tried numerous different meats and have been very happy with everything. We get boneless, skinless chicken breasts from Boulder Natural Meats every week, it very lean and tasty. We've tried the grass-fed ground beef from Colorful Ranch, Tommyknocker beer brats from Continental Sausage, Organic Prairie grass fed beef hot dogs, wild cod Alaskan cod loin, and maple-cured bacon from Tender Belly - this bacon was super fatty, but it was a great treat. We typically eat turkey bacon so this was very different :) This week are going to try some steaks & burgers too. We also get the whole wheat bread from the red mountain bakery and it is very good (store it in the fridge - it will go bad quickly otherwise) & nest fresh brown eggs weekly too. We've also tried juice, lunch meat, cheese, hummus & quinoa from them. Everything is good. I highly recommend trying it.
(5)J T.
We love Door to Door Organics, the hubs gets it delivered to his office every other week as a part of their living healthy initiative. It's super convenient. It's always well packed and the quality of fruits and veggies is always awesome... Being a part of a CSA is always hit/miss I find, you can get a weird bit of veggies (like a ton of turnips) but with Door to Door, you get to choose your veg/fruits weekly/biweekly... (they also have milk and eggs). You get organically grown veggies often times from local farms.... so it's good to support the local farming industry, but you also get the food you need/want instead of getting a bunch of ruttabega you dont know what to do with... We love Door to Door organics :D and we highly recommend them to anyone who loves eating organic :)
(5)Terry R.
Love having fruits and vegy's delivered to my door. Its a great way to try new fruits and vegetables that I would not usually buy
(5)Matt O.
I'm a big fan of this service. I get a bitty box (~$22) every other week which I find to be enough for me. I tend to get more fruits than vegetables but that depends on the offerings. You get en email the week before your arriving box telling you what it will contain. You get 3 substitutions to make from a decent list of items. You could also pay a little extra to add stuff to your box, such as tall grass bison meat or salmon. As someone else already said, its a little pricey. It feels good to support local farmers though, and eat healthy produce.
(4)Gwendolyn B.
I love the mix in each box. We're eating more variety. I was afraid of not being able to pick out my produce by hand but the quality beats out what's available in the organic section of my grocery store.
(5)Cordelia K.
They have changed my life! I love them!!!! The food is always fresh, I can choose what I want in my bundle, and I've SAVED SO MUCH MONEY and wasted stress by not going to the grocery store. Now that I'm not bombarded by tons of junk in the grocery store, I'm not only eating healthier, but I'm saving money! I don't have to worry about the impulse buys adding up! Woo Whoo! Thank you Door to Door Organics! Finally, may I just say that this totally solves one of the problems about choosing car-free lifestyle.
(5)Anne H.
I decided to try Door to Door Organics for at least one delivery despite the expense. I ordered the "bitty box" and made my substitutions, and also ordered some additional items. Delivery was prompt and everything was fresh and lovely. I called customer service when I thought that several items were missing and they were very concerned and helpful. A little while later I searched the boxes again and discovered the "missing" items hiding under packing materials. When I called back to let them know that they were found, I asked if it would be possible to order a la carte instead of the bitty box, since that seemed to be an expensive way to shop. As I explained to the person I spoke with, I felt that I could do better buying the same items at Whole Foods. He told me that they price everything to be competitive with local stores and that a subscription to one of the boxes was mandatory for placing an order. After I got off the phone I added up the prices of the contents of my box and discovered that they totaled around $20.00. Then I added the prices of the items that would have been delivered had I not made substitutions and they also totaled around $20.00. So my $25.99 bitty veggie box wasn't such a bargain. The "free delivery" is absorbed by the 25+% markup. I cancelled my subscription. Bottom line: this is an excellent service with great products for those who can afford it or are house bound or too busy to shop. For someone like me, on Social Security and still able to get out, it makes more sense to go to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's and buy more for less.
(4)R R.
I've tried this a few times and have never been super impressed with the quality or value. My most recent delivery, having tried it again with a 50% off incentive, was terrible. Items were forgotten, produce was bad (bitter cucumbers, nasty tomatoes), and zucchini was just slightly larger than a pencil. With the availability of quality organic produce at my local supermarket and the farmers markets, this service is poor in comparison.
(1)Melissa C.
I am in love with this company. They offer a large variety of items, including the things that I find that I need the most often like produce and meats. I get the bitty box of produce weekly, and I usually supplement with a couple different meat items or things I need for meals. My favorite part is that you can switch out up to 5 items in the bitty box so that you are getting things you will use rather than random items that will sit around. I have newly gotten into juicing, and the weekly supply of fresh, organic produce really helps me keep up with it, and keeps me from going to the grocery store all the time. They pack perishables in nice ice packs, and everything is cleanly provided. I have never had any issues with incorrect orders. I also find that I am paying the same price, if not even a little less than I would for organic produce and meats, and the quality of the product is normally better than what I would find in the store. I would highly recommend this service.
(5)Susi H.
I love this service. When I lived in NC I subscribed to a local CFA where we'd buy shares of produce at the start of the season and get a share of the crops. I loved it but most farmers could not afford to pay for the organic certification (so although most produce was grown sans pesticides, there was no true statement of such). I loved to get my 'surprise' box each week, but it was hard sometimes to get a bunch of beets when I had already some in the fridge from the previous week. It was also hard to have to go get the box 40 minutes from my house, as well as there was no chance to hold the box when on vacation. When we moved to Colorado Springs, I was looking for another CFA, I found a couple but then again the regulations were strict. For one you had to volunteer for distribution at least once a month to be a member. The produce was pricey (organic) and again no hold for vacation and no switching produce. Enters door to door organics. I found them online while researching and I was hooked. Prices are still steep, but comparable to other services, but you have the convenience of swapping items you don't like or don't need that week and also can put a hold on your box if you are out of town. The box is delivered to your doorstep with cooling packs for freshness. They also request you to save and put out all the packing materials and box so they can re-use it. I love the convenience and the concept. I am signed up currently for the local organic grown produce and I love to know that very low carbon footprint is produced by my choice!
(4)Keith S.
I do enjoy the service of having fresh produce delivered on a weekly basis. Only strange thing I find is my online order I am told I am going to get is different from what I get. Not really a big deal though. I also like their customer service and ease of access of the website.
(4)Kevin H.
Great stuff and so convenient! Very good quality and ease of use to assist in busy life! Highly recommend and all good stuff for the planet. Not just produce- you can get very good quality items as you would in the store and partner vendors are great. Enjoy!
(5)roxanne c.
I love this service. We had it when we lived in Denver, & it was great; we had the bi-weekly Bitty box and it really helped space out our shopping trips to Sunflower (busy grad students). About a month ago we moved up to the mountains, near Nederland--pretty rural, dirt roads & etc. I thought we would have to cancel our service, but it turns out they deliver up here & on Monday we got our first box delivered right on our porch! I was surprised because we seriously do live up a sketchy dirt road. I wonder how it will go in winter, but for now I'm super grateful that DtD is still available to us, it makes it much easier to just stay here in the cabin & work on our dissertations instead of running down the highway to pick up onions when we run out.
(5)Nicole M.
As a few of my co-workers get DTDO delivered to them I always had an interest in their company but after looking online at their prices I thought it was a little more than what I spend at the grocery store (non-organic). Then, as luck would have it, DTDO did a Groupon so I jumped on the chance at trying it out. I ordered the bitty box (for 2 people) with a mix of fruits and veggies. Now one of my favorite things was that I could substitute the stuff I didn't like, and wouldn't eat, for things I did, and would! I got emails confirming my order as well as an email the day of my delivery reminding me that today was the day! Upon opening the box I was surprised at how much produce I got in the bitty box! Easily enough for 2 people plus! It was so fresh and tasty and lasted quite awhile thanks to their lovely fruit and veggie storage instructions - which thank you DTDO I use it all the time now! We did cancel after our initial delivery (after the Groupon was used) but I recommend it to everyone I know who eats organic. I'm more of a price shopper unfortunately but if you are an organic lover DO TRY DOOR TO DOOR ORGANICS! The people are great, delivery people and the produce is wonderful. Keep up the good work DTDO guys/gals!
(4)Matthew C.
Everyone else has said it all before so I don't have much to add other than that I'm a very satisfied customer. During growing season, they get a large amount of their produce from local CSA's, and in fact have a 'local' box if you want only local produce. Outside of growing season, they don't, but they helpfully provide produce origin information on the website, so if you want to avoid the longer haul produce, you can. The only "problem" I've had was getting a double delivery my first week. I wasn't complaining, but called them up to pick up the extra box. They let me keep it for free, and I passed it along to a friend. The price is right, and it's hard to beat the convenience.
(5)Allison S.
I am completely addicted to this service. Compared to other organic produce delivery services I've had in NYC & San Francisco, both the quality and variety from Door-to-Door is the best. Great work Door-to-Door!

I really want to love this service. It is a great concept and super convenient seeing as I do not have a car. I have been a member for a few months, and am still on the fence about canceling the service. One box I received was completely full of bugs. I called the office and they comped my order, which was really nice, and made me want to give them another shot. The next box came, and as I was peeling the corn, I saw a giant slimey worm. I called again and they refunded me the price of the corn. Every time I get a box, there is at least one or two really 'unattractive' pieces of produce (bruised, discolored,...), basically nothing that I would ever buy from the grocery store. Like I said, I want to love this service, but i dont want to be that person that calls and complains every week. I still receive a box every week. it would be nice to get a box where everything was satisfactory, and I don't think that's too much to ask.

I will second Ali's review. This is a great service. I currently have the small box delivered from Door-to-Door, and it's just enough to last two people over the course of a week. It all depends on how many fruits and veggies you can consume.

I LOVE Door to Door!! I have been a member since 2008 I believe? They are so awesome. They bring my box of veggies/fruits in a snowstorm, rainstorm, whether it's 9 or 99 degrees out---it's always there no matter what. I have never had any major problems but any small issues have been taken care of quickly and completely. Emails and phone calls are promptly returned. The produce is fresh and the products are well packaged to insure protection from the elements. I accidently left my box on the porch overnight a few weeks back and thought my produce would be ruined, not so!! I opened it up and everything was just fine even though it was like 15 degrees out that night. I am so happy that they are expanding what they offer, if I need a specific thing I always look to them first so I don't have to run out and look for it!! Love this business!! I have used other produce delivery services and I have never been nearly as happy with any of them as I am with Door to Door

I tried this with a 50% off from Grupon so got a small box for $17 instead of $34. It arrived on time so delivery was fine. But the value for the money was not there (even at half price) and many items were slightly bruised. Also I was surprised by how small some things were such as a tiny cauliflower.

A box from Door to Door Organics can be overwhelming, which may result in wasted produce. My best advice, write up a plan for your produce before it arrives. They usually send me my order three days before it is slated to come outlining all of the items that I will probably receive in my box. At this time, I take a quick look and use my five substitutions to ensure that I won't end up with an excess of celery, turnips, or some other item that just isn't that useful to me. Next, I make a meal plan for the week based on the items from my produce box. From this, I am able to create a grocery list of things that I will need shop for. When my order arrives on Monday, I'm all set for the week and I know that I will make use of every item in the box. They have an extensive list of groceries that you can add to your weekly order, but I mostly stick to their produce. I would categorize the prices at Door to Door Organics as fair, especially since they are bringing the groceries to my doorstep. Everything comes fresh and I never have a complaint about their quality. If you hate going to the grocery store as much as I do, then you should probably sign up for Door to Door Organics.

Really 3.5, but I'm a business owner and well, rounding up isn't a bad thing. I got a groupon or some such and decided to test these guys out. They certainly deserve 5 stars on the quality. I totally forgot about having ordered, but the box arrived on my doorstep sometime this morning - I found it about 11:30. When I brought it inside I found the freshest head of Romaine lettuce I have ever seen - absolutely beautiful! Along with it were a two apples, two avocados, 1 lb baby carrots, a beautiful yellow pepper, two very green bananas, two zucchini that look like they were fresh picked from a summer garden (mind you we just got 8-10 inches of snow this week), and yummy, crunchy snow peas (1/2 pound), and one mango. I believe they call this the bitty box and regular price is $25 and change. My hesitation in giving 5 or even 4 stars is price. I don't usually purchase organic, although I think I probably should, and while it is great to have food delivered to the door, with school pickup and drop off for my kids, I'm by a grocery store multiple times daily. If you regularly purchase organic fruits & vegetables and get suckered into buying extras at the grocery store - this is an awesome product - it is not often that you find something this convenient and healthy in one package. If, on the other hand, like me you generally purchase what is on sale and don't generally buy anything that is not on your shopping list, it's a bit on the pricey side.

This is a service that makes my life easier and encourages me to eat healthier. As if that wasn't enough, it even saves me money by making produce shopping at Whole Foods unnecessary! When I lived in Boulder, DTD dropped a box right in front of my door. Now that I live in Denver in a secured apartment building, I leave a cooler in the entry way and get fresh, organic fruits and veggies delivered once a week. Their website is really nice and allows you to sub out up to 3 items per order. A few times they delivered apricots that were over-ripe and ready to go bad, but I e-mailed them and they credited my account. I can't think of a thing to complain about :-)

I'm new to Door to Door Organics but am already loving it. I look forward to the email I get each week telling me what items to expect in my weekly box. I appreciate that you can also swap out a few items (before delivery day) if you don't want something that you're going to be provided. In addition to swapping out items, you can also create a like/dislike list on the website so that you don't end up with items that you never want. I was worried about the food not being fresh and I had some anxiety about not being able to squeeze it myself first, however that has pretty much disappeared. The two of us are getting the small mixed fruit/veggie box which provides plenty for a week. If you don't eat vegetables and fruits every single day then I'd advise going for the bitty box. All of the vegetables have been great and the fruit is delicious - much better than in the store. I do have to let it ripen up a few days before we can eat it though. Some items come ready to eat while others need a few days. Our delivery is more expensive than what we'd get at a big box grocery store for conventional produce. It's about on par to what I'd spend at my beloved Vitamin Cottage each week except that several of the items I get have been better quality. The best part of this concept for me is designing menus each week around what produce I'm going to receive. It's like Christmas :)

I just got my 1st box yesterday!! It all looked so good!!! I am excited to eat it all! I got a small box and I think I might drop down to a bitty box. I open the box to see some very yummy beets and lettuce and limes and avocado. Also I added some Kobe beef that was on special. There was also garlic with the stocks on it which I was rather surprised with. I got some strawberries they did not look great but we will give them a try. I think it is very cool that you can sub for items that you don't like or won't eat!! is very cool that you can sub for items that you don't like or won't eat!!

I am soooo thankful that I found out about this place. Since moving to Boulder I was looking for a co-op type business where I could buy local organics at a good price without any luck. Since I've started purchasing though Door-to-Door I have been nothing but very pleased. It's so easy to register, and you can choose the best size that works for you. They have a variety of sizes that fit the smaller to larger households. You can even add on products if you desire on a weekly basis. They deliver to your door step once a week for a small delivery cost. Mine is supposed to have it delivered by Monday at 6pm, and mine always arrives by 1pm. The other nice part is that they email out what is in your box the Friday before, so you can take a look and if there is anything you don't want, you can make up to 5 substitutions. It's great because you really are able to customize your box. Everything I have received so far has been very fresh, and the box comes with an ice pack to keep the produce refrigerated until you get home. I find that for the amount I am receiving, I am getting way more than if I purchased it at Whole Foods or any other organic market. It also saves me time at the supermarket which is a huge plus!

I tried out Door to Door Organics and absolutely love the fresh, organic fruits and veggies, excellent eggs and dairy, and most everything else I ordered... BUT... they were too pricey for me. When I realized they were charging $15 for a pound of cherries on my last order, I took a closer look and realized that I was paying more than premium for the food. Plus, while most of their food was fresh and delicious, I had several pieces of fruit that were so far past ripe they were ready for the garbage can when they arrived, as well as stale tortillas two weeks in a row. Their customer service was great, and quickly credited me for the poor quality goods, but it's always a hassle to have to email or call. I'd rather just have good products. Overall, since I hate wasting money, and Whole Foods is 10 minutes away, I canceled the service. But if money is not an issue for you, give them a try -- most of their stuff is delicious (and very healthy!!).

This is a fantastic and flexible alternative to a CSA. Every week we get a box of organic fruits and veggies delivered right to our door. Only want fruits? Or only veggies? No problem, you can do that. A lot of the produce is locally grown, but they also work with farms in California and Mexico so that we have the option of getting lemons, mangoes, and avocados in our boxes. But everything is organic and so far everything has been in great shape. If anything, they might just need to ripen up a bit. (But better than getting overripe fruit which is what I thought might happen when I signed up. Nope!) What really puts this service over the top is the flexibility that you have. There are no contracts, so you can sign up and then end your service at any time. Going out of town? Just enter the dates online and you won't get a box that week. Every week you'll get advance notice of what is going to be showing up on your doorstep, and then you have a few days to review and make substitutions, if necessary (3 per order). Hate beets? Let them know and you'll never get them. Love and adore parsley? Let them know and it'll be in your box whenever available. How cool is that?
(5)Andreas H.
Ok, I have to write again now that I've had the service for a few weeks. Fantastic!! SUPERB! HOORAY FOR VEGGIES!!! I have been happily suprised with the variety each week. 3 weeks, 3 different types of oranges. 3 different types of apples. Everything is so crisp. On top of it all, their customer service is amazing. I had a red pepper that started to go wonky after 2 days, and they just credited my account for the following week. AWESOME!! Do yourself a favor, and check them out. Worth EVERY penny.
(5)Rhonda T.
I LOVE these guys. Truly. The box is tailored to your likes and dislikes but that being said you only get three substitutions. That has never been a problem but it HAS led to us getting things we would never buy on purpose at the store because we have no experience with them. So.. you look up a recipe for spaghetti squash and voila! New favorite vegetable. They save me a ton of money at the grocery store because not only are they much cheaper your not getting trapped in the whole impulse buying thing when you go out for your groceries. Love it. Try it. You will not be sorry. Having fresh organic veggies show up at your door is the best. Update: You now get FIVE substitutions. Pretty great.

After a year of having this company recommended to me by loyal customers, I purchased a groupon to try them out. I was home when the delivery was made and brought the box right inside. Upon opening it, I was very disappointed to see the quality of the produce. There were four inedibly hard green peaches, an unripe avocado that could be used as a murder weapon, onions with fuzzy mold growing on them, pears so young they crunch like apples, wilted romaine lettuce, and a nearly inedible unripe melon. Some of the food that was in season was decent like the grape tomatoes, broccoli, green beans, and parsley, although none of it seemed particularly fresh. I also noticed the apples were grown in Chile. While I understand this is necessary if they are to supply out of season produce, it's not really in line with the eco-friendly image Door to Door Organics projects. In fact I did not note a single piece of food in my box that was grown locally. I can buy this same non-local, irradiated, barely organic produce at King Soopers for less money. For the same (or less) weekly cost as a Door to Door Organics box, you could be a member of a local CSA farm and receive the freshest, purest, most nutrient dense seasonal foods which are of dramatically higher quality than what I received in my shipment. I love the concept of this company, but if the box I received is indicative of their usual quality, they just don't live up to the hype.
(2)Ali M.
Fresh, easy, cheap, organic...All the benefits of a CSA with none of the hassle! I signed up with these guys because of a friend's recommendation. For a bit over $20 a week, they deliver a big box of organic produce (choose veggies, fruits, or a mix) to your front porch! What's the catch? I haven't found one yet... You pay by the week, can cancel or go on hold any time, no commitment required, you can substitute things you don't like for things you do... It really seems too good to be true! Now I always have fresh veggies and it's so easy to eat healthy! This will force you to think outside the box- trying new stuff is fun! My only beef is it's not always local... but for a CSA, which is local, there is a HUGE pain in the ass factor.
(5)Hollie W.
Like most others, I LOVE THIS COMPANY. I order the biddy-bi-weekly and it's great for a one person household. I do wish they would get a little more selection on the substitutions but otherwise this company seriously rules :) They have absolutely fabulous customer service!! Now has a new VEGAN DIET shopping section.............AWESOME!!
(5)Heather L.
Love the local box, love the organics, love the recipes, love the convenience of delivery, and love that I spend WAY less than I did every week at Whole Foods.
(5)Karen G.
This is a pretty amazing service, completely customizable, and user-friendly. Trying to stick to your New Year's resolutions past January? Try this solution and eat what is delivered directly to you! Healthy and fun. From "not a paid spokesperson, just a fan!"
(5)Alexandra F.
Why wait for a Farmer's market to come around, when you can have it come to you! Door to Door Organics will deliver you seasonal fruits and veggies right to your doorstep... You can eat healthy, support local farmers and maybe spend less time at King Soopers. Picking up veggies and fruits from the supermarket can mean handled and bruised items, but with door to door organics you get fresh goodies with hardly any squeezes... Except the one your house-mate gives you after they eat all of your delicious peaches... brat. * Star one is for organic ** Give it to me now star two is for delivering... me lazy *** Plump star three is for surprising me with a different basket every time the new batch is delivered **** Star four is for freshness and encouraging health eating! Star five was stripped due to the somewhat high prices!
(4)L W.
Amazing customer service and product. This company really goes above and beyond with their customer service. Thank you Door to Door Organics - I highly recommend!!
(5)Sammi O.
I just received my first box and all I have to say is wow! Everything looks so fresh and amazing! I absolutely love their website and the recipes on there. I found 3 recipes and ordered all of the ingredients with the bitty box. I can't wait to cook them. For $50 I got way more food then I would have gotten for that price in the grocery store. I can't wait to become a regular member!

After seeing the Yelp reviews I decided to sign up for DTD yesterday. Much to my dismay I was too late to get this weeks delivery. Never fear, Peter to my rescue! He emailed me and said that since they were literally RIGHT around the corner from where I work he was willing to drop it off for me or I could come by and pick it up. I chose to swing by today and grab it. What stellar service! I rushed back to work and eagerly opened my box. I stashed the GORGEOUS lettuce, spinach and celery in the fridge and immediately tucked into a gala apple for lunch. Heaven. This is the deal of a lifetime. Fresh, beautiful, organic produce delivered straight to your door at home or at work in whatever size and frequency works best for you. Don't want the chard? No problem, they'll sub it out (we got an avocado instead!) And best of all, everything is CLEAN and free of bugs, unlike most of the other FSA and organics deliveries I have used in the past. DTD Organics, you are my new best friend.
(5)Rebecca K.
I love this service and have been a customer for well over a year. I was referred by a friend and have since referred three more friends. You can pick your box size and frequency - every week or every two weeks. The small box feeds to of us for two weeks. You have the option for all local produce boxes, the opportunity to substitute up to three items each delivery, and the chance to create a "do not send" list. The delivery flexibility is very accommodating. There is no contract. Vacations and skipped deliveries are easy to arrange through the website. I have only had one delivery issue but that was on my end because I didn't update my new address in time for the delivery. I did get my box from my old address. :) The customer service has been excellent. They are reasonable on credits when the produce has been unsuitable, which has only happened a few times and only few items, not an entire box. They are prompt to respond, typically within 24 hours of contact. It may be a little less expensive to go to the grocery store but the time and energy saved with a delivery to the house is well worth it.
(5)Chez D.
Love this service after trying a few. Lovely fresh food, great grocery section you can add to your delivery, good prices and value, good range of substitutions if you're not keen on something in your weekly box, good amount of time to change things before delivery and website is easy to use and works properly. Much better that Mile High Organics which I had all sorts of problems with.
(5)April H.
Cheaper than Whole Paycheck (foods); great selection, fantastic customer service what more can I say?! I am gonna switch to the bitty box cuz the small box is SO much produce I can't eat it all by my lonesome. Also, it's introduced me to fruits and veggies I'd never tried in the past. I look forward to my delivery every Monday, and it's here like clockwork. Also they recycle/reuse their boxes, ice packs, and packaging. I'm a fan!
(5)Amy R.
I am a brand-new client and am completely impressed with DTD. My family of 5 hasn't been eating nearly enough fruits and veggies and has slipped into a bad take-out/quick-food/eating out habit after a hectic 2 months at work. Figured getting a whole mess of organic produce dropped on my doorstep every week would give me the kick I needed to resume cooking...and cooking healthily...most of the time. My husband initially thought we could buy all this ourselves a bit cheaper but we don't...I like that this sort-of forces us to eat well. I'm good about making sure to use what I have at home, so thought having a weekly delivery would ensure lots of good vitamins and fiber getting into our diets. My first delivery was yesterday and I was SO excited to get home and see what we got. We had the kids really revved up to eat gold chard(truly unbelievable that they'd be so enthusiastic and trade in pizza and junk food) and I planned an entire menu utilizing every piece I expected. When I got home, I had all fruits and one pound of snap peas. Huh? Where was the lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, gold chard? I made a quick call hoping to catch someone at 4PM on a Friday and reached a nice woman. The web site mentioned that they make substitutions if something comes in and isn't up to par but I let her know that what I received and what was on the list was 90% different. I was so disappointed and thought I'd have to cancel the service. She said she'd get back to me once she figured out what had happened. 20 minutes later, another nice woman followed up with me. She said there was a brand-new driver who mixed up my box and another and that they were unable to reach the other person who had my box. The driver was now hours away. She apologized sincerely and let me know that almost every week, you get 100% of what's on the list. It was too late to get a box of what we ordered so she offered to waive the fee and resume as normal the following week. We had the peas and strawberries tonight and they were great. I believe it's not the occasional mistakes that a company makes, but how they handle them, that's important and I'm very satisfied with DTD so far. Next week's list looks amazing and I'm ready to get cooking!! PS...the kids were BUMMED we didn't receive the veggies. Let's see if they'll eat all this goodness.
(5)Terry B.
This is a very cool concept. Delivery of organic items, primarily locally grown right to your house once a week. We just signed up and received our first shipment this week. Personally, it seems a bit pricey to me. I could head to my local King Soopers and get most of what was delivered for cheaper I think. However, the cool part is you get all kinds of stuff you may not cook with or think to buy at the grocery store. So, it forces you to have fun experimenting with cooking new things in new manners. Tonight we made some excellent Swiss Chard sauted in garlic--something I'd never actually have purchased at the store. Docking a point for the price for what you get, but very cool nonetheless.
(4)Melissa B.
I have been getting fruits and veggies delivered by DTD for over a year now. The produce is always delicious and fresh. I love the way it gets me out of my grocery store rut. I have a personal policy to try items at least once before deciding whether we like it or not. This has forced me to search for recipes to use things I've never cooked before. The result has been many new family favorites. Aside from the food, the company has been great to deal with. The few issues I have had have been resolved immediately. Try them, you won't be disappointed!
(5)Andrea L.
I feel like DTD should pay me to advertise for them because I've literally been telling everyone I know about this service and I already have at least one convert. Oh and here's the funny part: I've only received one bitty box so far. For me, it's a game of trying to come up with ways to use all of the produce from my box in one week. The result? We have been eating more meals at home and they are healthy and delicious. Who knew that a fresh, organic lemon could taste SO much better than a grocery store one. I have also loved trying new things. I had never had fennel before until DTD delivered me a beautiful one in my first box. I whipped up a fennel and apple salad with a fresh honey lemon vinagreete and voila... one of my new favorite veggies. For a real treat (but an expensive one) try the Wild Alaskan Salmon. Y-U-M. Regarding the price, I really don't think it is that much more than what you would pay for comparable quality produce at Whole Foods. I don't mind paying a little bit more for the convenience of delivery. Visit DTD's website today and prepare to be impressed by the UI. The best feature by far is that you can substitute produce. Why not try out a box for a week? If you don't like it you can easily cancel but don't worry, you won't need to. I already cannot imagine a world without delivered fresh organics veggies.
(5)Katherine C.
I was a loyal customer with these guys for quite some time, but about a year into my service things started going wrong and kept going wrong. When things go right, they have a good service, but when things go wrong their customer service is MISERABLE, and I'm usually pretty generous with things like that. They misdelivered my order on several occasion, tried to blame theft for at least one of those times, and were so unpredictable that one week I'd get my order at 10am and the next week it wouldn't come until 7pm. It all became too frustrating for me and I just gave up and discontinued the service. I've since found Mile High Organics, and their customer service, thankfully is MUCH better. If you're going to pay for a service like this, I strongly recommend you take your business there instead.
(1)Kristine C.
I love this service! I put it on hold in the summer months when I regularly make it to the Farmer's Market, but I really enjoy it the rest of the year. If CSA's are too expesive or confusing, or you just can't get to the market regularly, this service is awesome. We do the medium size box, half veggies, half fruit, for a little over $30. It comes right to our door once a week! I have had to put it on hold before for vacations, and it is totally simple. Only once did I get something that got bumped and wasn't high quality, and they immediately credited me the $ worth of it. They support local farmers, and in the winter if they need to, they suppliment with a farmer from CA, and a farmer from Chile. It's a pretty good set up for eating as local as you can. And it's affordable for all that wonderful organic goodness. This last year they have started posting recipes too, so when you get something in your box and you aren't sure what to do with it, you can get suggestions. They have a list you keep under your online account, where you can check "NO" to certain veggies or fruits you never want them to put in your box. This is nice if you never want something like Kohlrabi etc. that you wouldn't know what to do with. I have no complaints! I highly suggest giving them a try.
(5)Jessica B.
Their customer service is amazing!!

Their customer service is amazing!!

(5)Kristin F.
(3)Nathan B.
I will second Ali's review. This is a great service. I currently have the small box delivered from Door-to-Door, and it's just enough to last two people over the course of a week. It all depends on how many fruits and veggies you can consume.
(5)N K.
(5)Steve W.
I tried this with a 50% off from Grupon so got a small box for $17 instead of $34. It arrived on time so delivery was fine. But the value for the money was not there (even at half price) and many items were slightly bruised. Also I was surprised by how small some things were such as a tiny cauliflower.

(5)Margaret T.

(5)Caroline H.

(1)Suset M.

(5)Kristen W.
(5)Brittany H.
(3)Evey M.
(4)Dulcie F.
(5)Tiffany W.
(5)Terry R.
Love having fruits and vegy's delivered to my door. Its a great way to try new fruits and vegetables that I would not usually buy
(5)Rachel S.

Love the local box, love the organics, love the recipes, love the convenience of delivery, and love that I spend WAY less than I did every week at Whole Foods.

This is a pretty amazing service, completely customizable, and user-friendly. Trying to stick to your New Year's resolutions past January? Try this solution and eat what is delivered directly to you! Healthy and fun. From "not a paid spokesperson, just a fan!"

Thank you!
(5)Gwendolyn B.

(1)Suset M.

(5)Melissa C.
Enjoy!
(5)Thomas S.
(4)Lacey B.
(4)Melissa H.
(5)Sadie P.

(5)G D.

Their customer service is amazing!!

(5)Kristin F.
(3)Nathan B.
I will second Ali's review. This is a great service. I currently have the small box delivered from Door-to-Door, and it's just enough to last two people over the course of a week. It all depends on how many fruits and veggies you can consume.
(5)N K.
(5)Steve W.
I tried this with a 50% off from Grupon so got a small box for $17 instead of $34. It arrived on time so delivery was fine. But the value for the money was not there (even at half price) and many items were slightly bruised. Also I was surprised by how small some things were such as a tiny cauliflower.

(5)Thomas S.

Thank you!
(4)Sadie P.

(3)Terry R.
Love having fruits and vegy's delivered to my door. Its a great way to try new fruits and vegetables that I would not usually buy
(5)Christine W.

(5)Carly B.

(5)Kristen W.
(5)Gwendolyn B.

(5)Melissa C.

I do enjoy the service of having fresh produce delivered on a weekly basis. Only strange thing I find is my online order I am told I am going to get is different from what I get. Not really a big deal though. I also like their customer service and ease of access of the website.

Great stuff and so convenient! Very good quality and ease of use to assist in busy life! Highly recommend and all good stuff for the planet. Not just produce- you can get very good quality items as you would in the store and partner vendors are great. Enjoy!

Love the local box, love the organics, love the recipes, love the convenience of delivery, and love that I spend WAY less than I did every week at Whole Foods.
