Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Being from San Diego, I know what authentic non-white people messed with Mexican food is. If you want authentic Mexican food Taqueria Los Comales would be your spot... Makes me feel like I'm in Tijuana again which is a good thing for authentic Mexican food. Anyways, Don't let the atmosphere scare you/ deter you! Yes it is in a "rougher" part of Greeley, Yes they play all Mexican music and TV in the restaurant and yes you might be the only white person/family there at the time when you visit, BUT you still need to put on your big boy/girl pants, step out of your comfort zone and try this place. Everything has been out of this world that I have tried and the Horchata was on point. Gives me the feeling of being a teenager and going across the boarder for a Corona and Mexican food on the cheap! TRY IT! (By the way, I am white so my references about white people shouldn't offend anyone!)

Best steak tacos in Greeley. Perfectly grilled steak with finely chopped cilantro and onion and plenty of lime on the side. They have a good salsa bar too. But my favorite thing of all is the cantelope water. It's the shit.

Taqueria Comales is an incredible value. The chips & salsa are INSANE. Probably 12 salsas fill up an impressive and tasty salsa bar. The al pastor was excellent as well. This place is a gem.

All I can say is DTSWG. Service was stellar and food was correspondingly fantastic. Fresh and tastefully seasoned with the perfect amount of spices. Do not miss this hidden gem. The Enchilada Rojas ranks in at #5 in my book. Sorry but the top 4 belong to mis tias and mi padre.

I tried this place for the first time and can't wait to go back and try more off their menue. I had 2 tacos, Barbacoa and Al Pastor. Both were full of flavor but the Al Pastor was bit fatty and I probably wouldn't order it again just because I'm really picky when it comes to fat in meat. The flavor was great though. I loved their salsa bar and tried several different ones all of which were very yummy. Their prices are outstanding!

Attached to a market on the north side of Greeley lies a little Mexican restaurant that makes one delicious al pastor taco. I've had some tasty al pastor tacos in the Denver area, but nothing as traditional as here. They're "street taco" sized and they're pretty cheap - $2/taco or 4-for-$7. I did the 4, also trying their barbacoa, carnitas, and steak. All were solid, but the al pastor will be all I order the next time I find myself here. The restaurant also has other traditional Tex-mex items. I like that they have a salsa bar, which most were pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the Mexican salsa and the green salsa. The creamy guac and creamy chipotle ones were also tasty, but could have used less cream and a bit more guac/chipotle. Attentive service, free chips and salsa, and the al pastor taco will have me stopping here again.

Excellent food but be sure to ask for extra spicy chile as the regular just doesn't cut it.

Service was really good and fast. We had the tacos, rice and beans. Everything was excellent. The meat wasn't dripping with fat or gristly like a few places I have been to. The salsa is good, not hot though Free refills. This is definitely a place I'll hit more often when I'm in town.

My husband and I ordered the tostada and chili verde enchiladas. Good but I would of want more spice. But great business and friendly staff! Great prices.

I'm from Juarez, Mexico, so I know where authentic Mexican food hits the spot. This hits the spot. Probably the best barbacoa in Northern Colorado. Not to mention their homemade tortillas that tie every meal together. If you want a taste from down south, Los Comales is a place you need to be.

I went here for lunch one day and was thoroughly impressed! I had 4 tripe tacos for $7. It was fabulous and savory! The chips and salsa were superb also! I loooooved the tacos and will be coming back for more. One of my co-workers here had the soup, a burrito, chips, salsa, and some tacos for lunch. The people at my work LOOOOOOVE this place. I love it too! Staff is friendly and welcoming!

My husband and I really enjoyed the food it was delicious! The chips were great and the salsa had great flavor without being too hot plus the additional salsa bar choices were fun! My husband ate steak fajitas and they were delicious and a great price! I had flautas they had great flavor and everything was very fresh! Great local spot to fine that is inexpensive yet delicious!

Was not impressed. Gristle in the pastor taco, end of enchiladas was dried out, beans runny and tasteless rice was so so. Service slow, too.

Excellent off the beaten path Mexican joint. Great salsa bar. Greeley's Best!!

Los Comales has the best tacos I have tasted in Greeley, or just about anywhere since I lived in Tucson. They also have one of the best salsa bars and homemade horchata too. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food.

Really fresh, tasty food. My husband, son and I couldn't stop commenting on how good our meals were. I love the salsa bar, the place was clean, nice photos/artwork on the wall, and the staff was very professional!

This place has perfectly good tacos and very good salsas, as well as other dishes for lunch and dinner. But yesterday was the first time I went for breakfast. And I really think it's the most viable breakfast in town. Fresh, homemade tortillas and the eggs were cooked right. The sauce of my huevos rancheros was flavorful, not overpoweringly spicy, and happily devoid of corn starch (so none of that cloudy, semi-gelid quality of sauce you can get at other places in town). The servers are attentive sweethearts, and the atmosphere is pleasant and easy-going. So, all in all, the food--and, surprisingly, the coffee--was at least as good as The Egg'n'I, and a little or a lot better than other Mexican places in town. I want to try the breakfast torta.

Clean place with wonderful food and great service. I highly recommend the smothered burrito and queso fundido (melted cheese with chorizo) as an appetizer.

I went there after my 18 year old told me about this place. I was kinda apprehensive at first as I am a cracker from Ohio bit this place is great. The wait staff are very helpful and I love the salsa bar. Oh, and the cantelope water is to die for. The food is authentic and hearty portions. The other positive reviews are right the mark.

I decided to look off the beaten path for lunch, which in my case meant to turn west from 11th street. Los Comales Taqueria is one of many in the north end of town with Spanish in the windows and a grocery next door. However it had cars in the parking lot. It is a small lunch type place with a takeout business and clean tables. I ordered Caldo de Pollo as this particular Monday I needed comfort food. It was a rich homemade chicken broth with two chicken legs (somewhat fatty chicken but hey that makes the best sopa), carrots, potatoes, cabbage and some spice. I added the onion and cilantro that came with the rice place on the side. The lunch was tasty adequate and more than I could eat: enough to satisfy los Vaqueros. No extra charge for the rice or the tortillas...good value.
