Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We stopped at this little restaurant because it seemed to be the only locally owned establishment within the highway 50 stretch. Not only did they have 2 for 1 margaritas, which were excellent by the way, our meals were flavorful and well priced. The staff was friendly and jovial; honestly, they made us not want to hit the road again. Make sure to check this place out highway 50 road-trippers.

This is a micro-chain. Restaurants around the state. Friendly staff. Order the smallest margarita. Small is a large. Pollo Verde and Carne Asada are both strong. Salsa is mediocre but cabbage that comes with chips is fantastic. Ok with the staples (pollo Asada and enchiladas) but better with the Pollo Adobo and more traditional Mexican dishes.

We went there for lunch today. I ordered a chicken fajita burrito. The chicken tasked wonderful and there was a huge portion of food. My daughter wanted to get a fried ice cream, and she has never had one before. It tasted great and was big, all 4 of us ate it, way too much for one person.

Good place to stop for lunch. Good food in large portions and friendly staff. I had the tacos rancheros and was well satisfied. Will return.

Enjoyed this place. The menu is HUGE. Service was really friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable. Decor was nice and comfortable. Place was very clean. Authentic recipes with plenty to chose from. We were just passing through town and YELP directed us here. Would stop here again.

So, this visit was a disaster! Her medium Margarita turned out to be a Jumbo, and was left half drank. I ordered a burrito with cheese instead of beef and it was cold shredded cheese. We had a kiddo who wasn't feeling well so she took him to the car, I had a hard time getting someone so I could pay the tab and leave. So all in all, I am done with this restaurant.

Fast service. Bad food. Poor quality meats and not fresh veggies beans rice. Bartender is fast and makes good margs. They are trying to dressing up a 5$ plate of inexpensive Mexican food as a 10-12$ plate.

Being from Southern CA and moving to the Grand Junction area, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find good "authentic" Mexican food. I was wrong and very happy for it! I have visited both of Tequila's locations in GJ and they are equal in quality, service, very yummy food and the BEST margarita's in the Grand Valley! One of my ways of rating a Mexican food restaurant is to try their Chili Relleno. I was leery when they asked if I wanted it crispy or not as I had never been asked that question before and was sure I would be disappointed. I ordered it "crispy" and delighted in every last delicious melty, cheesy bite! I will say their Relleno was even better than homemade back in CA. All in all, I have no issues with the atmosphere (the location on North Ave was a bit noisy, but it was a busy Friday night - so to be expected) or the service, but even if I did, the food and cocktails would still bring me back.

Service was not good. Waited to too long to order. Waited too long for check, etc. Bought a gift certificate through Restaurant.com . The Restaurant.com app allows you to pay by showing your gift certificate on your phone so you don't have to print it out. When we went to pay, they said they only take printed coupons "because we don't want the IRS to think we're not paying our taxes." I am TOTALLY serious. She said that! I asked for a manager who told me "I'll do it for you this one time." Which works out perfectly because we'll NEVER be back.
