Really good food here. Stopped in after seeing it just driving around. Being from Denver I know what to look for in a good Mexican restaurant, was a time we had some good ones, and at first sight I could tell something delicious waited inside. As expected it looked legit as soon as I walked in. We got two torta's and one burrito. Best sandwich I've had bar none. Huge, fresh and delicious. Burrito was killer too. Friendly service and I got the mini tour from the owner's daughter about the history of the place. Sadly I live 250 miles away or this would be a weekly meal for me. So there you have it Gringo's take it from another Gringo just keep driving past all the Americanized smothered burrito and queso dip places that are everywhere in GJ and eat here. Oh yeah be sure to try the agua pepino (cucumber water) so light and refreshing just a hint of sweetness.

Phone number-just a modem! Address is set up wrong on yelp. This happens all too often, and I wish someone would pay me to go through and correct these frequent location problems on Yelp. We wasted like a half hour trying to find this place, and again, I tried to call several times, and always just got a modem. Lots of construction, made it even more confusing. We ended up going to the drive through Mexican joint, which was less of a pain to locate.

Fantastic food. Very authentic. A little hole in the wall joint. Very clean. The owners are really nice. They take pride in there food. Hands down the best menudo in Grand Junction period. There sandwiches are the best as well. Try the Super Golosa. It has Carne Azada, Carnitas, and Pollo Azado. We have a family night here once a week. The prices are fantastic as well. I bet you can't eat a whole sandwich. They have food for kids as well. Burritos, Taco's, Gordita's, you name it. It's all great.

This place is amazing. I had the Super Golosa and a green chile gordita. The Gordita was a hand made flour shell and I topped it with the homade salsa and fresh onions. Perfection! The Super Golosa is a combo sandwich with steak, pork and chicken. Bring a friend if you decide to order this beast I could barely finish half of it. This is the kind of place that you see on those travel shows. Small hole in the wall restaurant ran by two people putting out delicious homade food done right. Get there before the rest of GJ finds this place.

Had there food for the first time a few weeks ago and was astonished on how delecious and how big the portions were. I had it again last night thinking that I got lucky last time. To my disbelief the food was just as good and the portions were still as big. The tortas, tacos, and burritos are all some of the best I've had in this valley.

I have been wanting to try this place for quite sometime, but was unable to find it until recently. It is a hole in the wall on North Ave by the postal office. Walking in it looked a little sketchy, but once inside it was inviting and the people were really nice. They have Mexican candies, ice creams and chips for sell..the same ones you would see anywhere in Mexico! Little English was spoken so the cook had to come help me order my food, which was great. Ended up getting an asada burrito with everything stuffed inside, instead of smothered, and a taquito. Once I got my food it was enormous! The burrito was the length of my forearm pretty much and tasted delicious! The taquito was also very large and even though I was full I couldn't stop eating. Their homemade salsa's are at your dispense at a little bar station that also has the perfect fixin's for your tacos! Really great spot to have lunch and you definitely won't go hungry coming here!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
