My new absolute favorite thai restaurant in Colorado. We stopped in on the way driving up to go skiing and got Drunken Noodles and Pad See Ew. I ordered the Drunken Noodle 12 on their 10 point hotness scale. Even though it didn't come out particularly hot, the noodles themselves were absolutely perfect. It's hard to find super wide rice noodles around (apparently the secret is that there's some gluten in them), but these were amazing. Just the right amount of basil and bell peppers too. The beef was sliced thin and super tender. My wife loved the Pad See Ew, partially because it came with chinese broccoli, which is hard to come by. She said the level 3 hot was perfect for someone that doesn't like super crazy spicy food, and that it built slowly over time. The marinated chicken in the Pad See Ew was also thin and falling apart perfectly. Also, even though they don't have a separate gluten free menu (though they do have GF soy sauce), the staff was very aware of what was and was not gluten free, and helpful with suggestions and substitutions that made the dish great.

Thai gold has great thai food! I personally love their drunken noodles. You can get almost all of the dishes with tofu for vegetarians. They also recently started a happy hour with a few drinks and discounted apps which is just another reason to eat there.

First time here, had the crab fried rice and it tasted great! The only problem was that the servers were a little bit slow on helping us out and they didn't check up on us. Besides that, the place was great, food was amazing and I would love to swing by again to try out some other food that they have!

I came here for lunch after riding my bike around for 2 hours in Golden, CO. I was hungry and I wanted food fast. I love their easy lunch menu for 7.99 I can get a soup, eggroll and like 12 options for an entree. I got their red curry with beef. I asked the server to make it spicy, in which she told me it already was. Tom Yum Ga (house soup): After leaving the restaurant, I had random cravings for this soup. Very flavorful, salty with a kick of lime. I wanted to ordered this soup to go after my meal. Back to my Red Curry Dish, Yes, It was sooo spicy. I finished all my rice and had a good portion of my curry left, the thai ice tea really help neutralize the spicyness (because the tea is 75% cream and 25% tea). My only thing, that I didn't like was that my curry only had the curry and pieces of beef, no bamboo shoots or potatoes, nope just beef chilling by it's lonesome in the curry. The Server was super nice, our table was being loud and even though we were the only ones outside, she came to visit often. I haven't found a decent Thai place in NYC yet but I'm glad I came to Thai Gold while visiting Golden.

Each time I go to Thai Gold it gets better! I tried the seafood curry stir fry last night and it was one of the best Thai dishes I have ever had anywhere. I have now tried a number of the vegetarian stir fry dishes, panang curry and the green curry and they were all great! Definitely the best restaurant in Golden.

The atmosphere is authentic and elegant in termsof decor and art work. A lot of menu options from noodles to curries to soups. Extensive appetizer options. ..we went with the chicken dumplings. They were good. 6 of them. Our family ordered pad Thai, panang curry and sweet and sour chicken. It was all very good. The curry was better than the pad Thai. Ended with chocolate mousse cake for my son and it was gone in no time. Price was reasonable. Service was wonderful. We will be back next time we are in town.

I've eaten good thai food and this is not!! I went for the Pad See Ew something I've eaten many times and this wasn't close - Nothing we had was worth coming back for and everything seemed dumbed down.

Food good - but they are VERY unorganized an don't answer the phone. We had to go to the restaurant to place our to go order and wait. so much for saving time.

Happy hour 3-6. Good beer and app specials! Good sized portions and the curry was amazing! I'll definitely be back to this place. It's located in a renovated house so it has a homely feel to it. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and definitely paid attention to details. Great place to go before heading to a Red Rocks concert!

This is a 3 GENEROUS STAR Review! Want to know why? Coz it is, SILLY... Well was here with T, D and their daughter for LUNCH on SUNDAY January 8th 2012. Time : 13:20hrs. Way in advance, I inform T and D not to expect as much with regards to this establishment. YES, this establishment is in a HOUSE! They transform a HOUSE into a restaurant. Yes, we are greeted promptly, seated and given the menu. Here is my "qualms" about this establishment. The seating arrangement, where they put the tables and chairs for the diners, is indeed a little "cramp". I think they should remove certain tables and chairs so other patrons, can be comfortable and is comfortable to have a "unique" experience in this establishment. Beverage order : * Apple Juice ($2.00) * Thai Iced Coffee ($3.00) * Hot Green Tea ($2.00) Now with the food. Additional bowl of rice for their daughter. ($1.00) We shared these : * Satay ($6.00) * Crying Tiger ($7.00) * Tom Yum Gai ($5.00). I shared these with T. D ordered the Lunch Special Pad Thai ($7.99) that comes with Tom Yum Gai and Gyoza, while T ordered the Drunken Beef Noodles (8.00). As for me I ordered the Seafood Fried Rice ($10.00). I like the Crying Tiger flavor and the sauce that comes with it. This dish, is actually Grilled Sliced Marinated Beef Steaks. It comes with a special sauce and a bed of salad, like slices of carrots, and greens. But somehow, I realized in the "special sauce" they put, the Togarashi Pepper Flakes. As for the Tom Yum Gai, YES, it comes with big chunks of chicken and mushrooms. But still, its a little on a sweet side for my personal taste bud. While in the middle of SERVICE and eating our lunch, one of the other waitstaff aka server, MISTOOK our order, and we "retify" it. My MAJOR Disappointment was the SEAFOOD FRIED RICE. Harlow, how can you made it SO WRONG???? *Furious SAD Face*.... The fried rice, was overdone, overcooked, and MAN, this dish alone is like a NEGATIVE 1 star. Even you make it SPICY for me, the fried rice was DEFINITELY Inedible. Since I dont want to be a "bad camper", I just ate my main entree that afternoon. As for the CHICKEN SATAY, once again, I think in general the Thais do not know how to make it flavorful as what I am exposed to. "MARINATE", "MARINATE" all the meats or poultry, if you want to offer SATAY in your menu. From the feedback of D, he mentioned that his Pad Thai was A-OK, nothing stellar nothing fancy. As for T, she also like her order of Drunken Beef Noodles. I got the chance to taste T's order of Drunken Beef Noodles, I also like it. Its flavorful, and the spice are just right. Since we dont live in this part of Neighborhood, I guess its A-OK, to return But Definitely NOT in a hurry. The "good thing" about this establishment is their deal offerings for LUNCH. For the price, it could be worth going for LUNCH. Yes, Thai Gold Restaurant has potential to IMPROVE. Definitely there is ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. Personally, if I were to dine alone in this establishment or even with Hubs, we will conclude this establishment get like 2 STARs from us. Another side note, I wonder why the RESTAURANT MENU, does NOT tally from the ONLINE RESTAURANT MENU in certain areas... It seems the ONLINE MENU, offer more, dishes as compared to the Restaurant Menu, while I was there that afternoon. Hmm.... *DOUBLE Hmmm...* From the receipt : Server : Alex Station : 2 Order # : 1326 Table : 24 @9/2012

Very solid Thai restaurant. So far, everything I've tried there is great. The Tom Yum Gai soup is awesome and the Panang is great( although you need to add veggies)! Try the Crying Tiger app too. Delicious!

Mediocre food, poor service, and limited atmosphere. If you've got a hankering for Thai food, Thai Gold will get your fix--so long as it's not particularly good That you're hankerin' for. The Green Papaya Salad is worth trying--though I suggest spicing it up a bit from the menu level of spiciness. The papaya is less crisp than it ought to be, but otherwise it's a good reproduction a unique and delicious Thai salad.

The curries are excellent. My favorite is the green curry, but the Panang is delicious also. I've also taken a fancy to the Pra Rahm as a healthier option. The food is always fresh, and the service is prompt and friendly. The patio is really nice on a warm day too.

  • Scott B.

Troy S. is spot on. Drunken noodles were fantastic and the portion is enormous. Green curry chicken was good, but not exactly authentic in terms of its vegetable component. Based on my one visit so far I'd recommend ordering things spicier than you might ordinarily. Both of my party's dishes are meant to be spicy but neither of them was especially so. I'll definitely be going back.

This place has been here for a while but we just recently tried it. We got takeout; and the atmosphere seemed very nice and cozy; it being an older renovated house makes it very quaint. We got the Green Curry with chicken and the Duck Curry; and although the portions of rice and curry/vegetables were decently large, the Duck Curry only had a few small bits of meat; which was not worth $13. The chicken curry provided much more meat so my husband (who got the duck) was able to steal some of my meat and was satisfied. We even had leftover curry sauce from each dish that we were able to eat the next day, after making another pot of rice to go with it. The curry itself is craveable! We will definitely be going back, and soon! I hope they do very well and stick around for a long time!

Enjoying the beautiful Golden,CO weather, eating my comfort food. The owners are transplant from MD and Jim (the husband) is very nice. Food tastes good as well

  • Jeff A.

This is my second choice for Thai Food in CO. If they could only make their food spicier I think it would be my first. The flavors have always been top notch here and the only thing that I am not a fan of are their small egg rolls. Doesn't ruin anything for me however.

  • Emily T.

It was our first time there, food was excellent. The portions were much bigger than regular thai restaurant portions. Reason I gave it 4 stars was bc one of our entrée was a little too salty but other than that everything was delicious.

  • Julia S.

The food here is as good as any I've had in Thailand! Tom Yum Gai soup is my favorite, and they brought out a perfect bowl of it. Both people who served us were very pleasant and accommodating, and the place has nice decor.

As I find myself nomming on cold leftover panang curry for Sunday breakfast it occurs to me that I should review this fine establishment. The atmosphere was nice; I don't really pay much attention unless I'm particularly bothered by something, so it was perfectly fine in that regard. We got in pretty quickly on a busy Saturday night. I've been here twice so far (about a week between visits) and had the panang curry both times. Now, as I write this review, that seems a little counterproductive but productivity was not on the agenda; the second time around I had a cold and didn't eat much all day and had a full-on jones for what had established itself immediately in my mind as a comfort food. In other words, that panang curry is the bomb diggity. The cat's pajamas. I'm a fan of hot curries, but there's something uniquely amazing about a good thai coconut-milk curry. With Indian curries I certainly enjoy some rice but gravitate towards sopping up curry with naan bread. With thai curries I find that the rice transforms into this transcendental savory rice-pudding like gift from the heavens. And I kind of like the fact that this particular dish is just meat and sauce, not being the biggest bell pepper or mushroom fan. I typically can handle the most extreme end of the spice scales so both times I requested "Thai Hot" or 10/10. It wasn't deadly hot IMHO but was very good. I use Sriracha like ketchup if that helps establish my baseline tolerance :) Did I mention, the panang curry is delicious the next day? Cold? Oh yeah. The first time around I had a lunch complete with two gyoza and tom yum goong soup. The soup seemed excessively fish-saucy and I wasn't a fan. The gyoza were decent, but were deep fried which seemed to be a step backwards from pan-fried seared goodness you typically get with a "fried dumpling." The thai tea was too sweet and overly rich (based on my experience with other restaurants and the stuff you can buy in Asian grocery stores) and I could not pick up on the woody spiced tea flavor I look forward to most. I had chicken satay with my wife on our second trip, which was expertly grilled and seemed to be made from the breast of a giant chicken (and I don't mean that in a bad way :). The sauce was decent but I should've explored their "spice rack" in retrospect to bump up the fire -- customers can tweak their heat levels to their liking and I must've been really out of sorts not to take them up on that last night! My wife loves the curry too but subsisted on appetizers yesterday: hoi obb, a steamed mussels 'n broth concoction that she loved, and a coconut milk chicken soup the name of which escapes me (and their website appears to be down, so I can't check the menu). The soup was bright and rich at the same time, packed with chicken. It would make a decent lunch by itself.

I love Thai food, so I was pretty excited to try Thai Gold when I first hear about it. The truth is, I was blown away by the whole experience. I went in for dinner on a Thursday evening and we were offered immediate seating either inside or out on the patio. As it was a fairly nice evening we opted for the patio. The truth is that I had absolutely no complaints about anything from the time that I stepped through the front door until I walked out the same door an hour or so later. The service was great, the servers all were friendly, helpful, and seemed to just be happy. The food was unbelievably tasty, and among the best Thai food I've had anywhere in town. If I weren't a poor grad student this is the sort of restaurant that I'd be happy to frequent every single day- wonderful!

I force myself to like this place more than I should because it's just so cute, and they are so people and dog-friendly. The food tastes fine, because the sauces are flavorful, but the meat is absolutely horrific. I don't expect organic free-range stuff from these guys, but that was some tough chicken. It'll take me a while to get over it.

YUMMY YUM YUM! Please eat here. I'd hate to see a good restaurant in Golden go under. We don't need any more sandwich shops or bar food places! Please! * * FYI: Don't try to bring a group larger than 6. Don't bring rowdy kids. You will probably not be happy with the result. It's a very small, intimate space (old house) and probably can't/shouldn't accommodate big groups, loud parties or kids that need to run laps. Bring your date, your parents, your best friend or get takeout. The food is awesome. My husband and I have been twice so far and both times greatly enjoyed our meals. Between us we have had the ginger chicken, kapow beef and a chicken-broccoli-cabbage dish with peanut sauce. The veggies are fresh and plentiful, the meat seems quality and the sauces are soooooo tasty and seem to be homemade. The prices are slightly high. I am comparing them to the wonderful, award-winning Khow Thai in Boulder. Comparing the two, flavors and portions are about equal, but Thai Gold is a few bucks more per dish. But I don't eat much and will get two meals out of one, so what the heck. So, is it the most ideal space for all varieties or the most perfect service? No, but it's a new restaurant, located in an old, small house and is not billing itself as a fancy-pants, upper-crust service joint. Bottom line: IT'S GOOD FOOD.

I experienced slow service and a crappy version of Pad-See -U (however you want to spell it). They burned it, I am pretty sure. It sucks because I was looking forward to my favorite dish and now I probably won't return.

I was a little weary since this used to be Tony Rigatoni's and it was gross. This is one of my favorite Thai places. I hope this doesn't scare people away. I llive in Denver, but have been know to go here 2-3 times in one week! Why do I love this place, well first, you can get you food super spicy. You can just request the level and they will turn up the heat. Second, if you are worried about making it too hot, ask for their chili oil. You can add as much as you like. My friend and I always kapow, I of course get it vegetarian and add broccoli. One complain observed by meat eaters is there actually isn't enough veggies, so you can just add extra if you like veggies but also want meat. Their mango sticky rice was delicious as well. I actually crave it.

First visit into Golden and we came for the Coors tour. Based on the recommendation of the shuttle driver, we decided to try Thai Gold (despite my companion's hesitance and self-admitted discerning taste (aka "snotty") in Thai food). We were not disappointed. We arrived for a late lunch (2:30ish) and we greeted and seated promptly. Our orders of Angel Shrimp (shrimp rolls with sides of tempura-style vegetables) and Crouching Tiger (grilled, marinated beef) showed up at our table quickly. The Angel Shrimp was a pretty standard deep fried shrimp rolled with spring roll wrappers and sweet and sour dipping sauce on the side; the most surprising aspect of this dish was the tempura-style baby corn. I had never tried them before--not bad, but not my favorite tempura'd vegetable. The beef in the Crouching Tiger was perfectly done and the meat was cooked medium well. The dipping sauce complemented the meat's marinade nicely. For our entrees, we ordered the Drunken Noodles with beef (other reviews were right--well-proportioned and fantastically seasoned), the Deep Ocean (mussels, scallops, and squid in "special yellow curry sauce") and Cashew Chicken. In total, our entrees fed four adults (one of whom was "discerning") and a preschooler ideally (no leftovers, no hungry bellies), with the right amount of spice for us all. My favorite of our dishes was the Deep Ocean (I love seafood) and the curry was so flavorful and spicy. We will definitely go back, even though we live in Broomfield.

Came to write a review after patronizing the other thai place in town tonight. Thai Gold is great. Nice staff, beer specials, large portions, ambiance - - so happy they are in town. We will do everything we can to keep you around!

This was my one and only visit here was totally craving Thai after a hike. The location was nicely placed and staff were polite and quick to respond to requests. They inside for some reason had a smell that wasn't awesome but also wasn't bad to send me packing. I had pad seuw noodles and beer. Both were decent tasting. Can't say I'll be back but it was what I needed when I needed it if that makes sense.

2012 Review #28: Oh. I hate to be the decenter. I had been so excited to try this place, because, as everyone says, it was about time that we had a Thai restaurant in Golden. I read the reviews and figured the less-than-stellar ones were just really inaccurate. Unfortunately, it seems our experience was also less-than-stellar. We went on a Friday around 7:30 and when we arrived, there was a group of 8 waiting, and one 2 top. The first mistake here is the way they redid the entryway. It is a very narrow hallway, and they chose to put some small tables on one side, but also put the only wait station to place orders from at this location. On the other side of this narrow entryway is the drink station, and all of this is directly in front of the door, so there's basically nowhere to wait. Waitstaff is constantly having to push past customers, either to make drinks or to place orders. It is really chaotic. There is no hostess stand, or at least they weren't using it that way. The "host" appeared a minute or so after we arrived and asked how many we had, and then said, "3..um..well...we might be on a wait. We might not." That was all. He never checked back with us to tell us if there was in fact a wait. We ended up waiting 30 minutes, and we were the only normal sized table waiting. While we were waiting probably 8 or so groups entered and most quickly turned around and left because there was nowhere to stand and they were simply ignored by all the staff. We were finally seated at the sort of table you'd find in a fast food restaurant. I think most of the servers are all in the same family, and although our server was sweet, he was not very good at his job. He tried hard and joked around, but he didn't come by for several minutes, but also tried to rush us into ordering. We didn't have silverware or napkins, and we never got chopsticks. We ordered some steamed meat and crab dumplings to start, and the crab was so overwhelming and fishy. Just killed the flavor. For entrees, my husband got the pineapple fried rice with chicken, which he liked but said was on the verge of too salty. Our friend got panang curry and found it to be really thin, and I got Pik King chicken, which was basically stir fried chicken with string beans and bell peppers. On the menu, it had 2 chili peppers to indicate spiciness, and the most I saw on any item was 3, so I figured it would be pretty hot. It was actually extremely sweet, sort of salty, very oily, and not at all spicy. I later heard a server telling a table that 3 chili peppers on the menu meant "medium" but there was no guide to the spiciness on the menu and again, no dish had more than three. I wanted to ask for hot sauce but after our food was delivered, our waiter disappeared for probably 20-25 minutes. I ran out of water, which never got refilled. We waited a long time to get to go boxes, and again to get our bill. We left and felt that it just isn't worth returning for a while. If it had been just the food or just the service or just the bad remodel it would be one thing but everything together doesn't feel like opening jitters (and they've been open for almost 2 months) but more like they just don't have enough restaurant experience.

We ate here for the first time last night. The food was delicious, the service was quick and very friendly, and the patio seating was shady in the heat. We tried the satay, drunken noodles and garlic delight! Everything was tasty! The drunken noodles were spicy, but still extremely flavorful and the garlic delight was, well, delightful. We will definitely be returning for some more great Thai food!

Huzzah! Thai Gold is finally open, and Golden has a quality Thai food restaurant. Came by here on a Tuesday for their lunch special - $8 for a cup of soup, an egg roll/two gyoza, and a main entree is entirely reasonable. The Tom Kha soup was pleasantly spicy and full of mushrooms and chicken, but it had a sweet-chili taste that I didn't expect. The gyoza were crisp-skinned with a plump, rich filling. I ordered the Three Flavor Chicken as my entree - I admit that I couldn't really discern what three flavors it had, but it was fresh tasting and had a slightly spicy, citrus-sweet glaze. I did ask for it to be spicy, and it's indicated with two peppers on the menu, but I really couldn't get much heat from the entree. Still, a lot of Thai restaurants will make food more American spicy and not Thai spicy as a default (notable exception: US Thai), so I'm not surprised, and I may have to be more specific next time. One minor bone of contention: I ordered a Thai iced tea to go with the meal, mainly because I wanted to try out their version, but at $3 (!) a glass I probably won't be doing that in the future. When a non-alcoholic drink is more than 1/3 the cost of the meal, it's just not worth it. $2 would be much more reasonable in my opinion - but then again, I don't own a restaurant. That aside, I'm super glad that Thai Gold is open, and I look forward to returning multiple times to try out different menu items. I think they'll do well, if the crowd of other patrons at the restaurant is any indication.

We showed up at Thai Gold without a reservation on a drive back from skiing. We were delighted and wish we had a Thai restaurant this good at home. Our waiter was very kind and caring, especially to our children. We had pineapple rice, drunken noodle, chicken salad, and fish cakes. Everything was delicious and the decor charming. Golden is lucky to have this place!

4 of us went for dinner Sunday evening. Food was good ordered Pad Thai with chicken, Pad Thai with Pork, Drunken Noodles and The Deep Ocean with Spring rolls for an appetizer. Everything was good, served quickly and though a little less spicy than most Thai very tasty. Tables on the patio are a little flimsy and worn. Overall a good experience.

Love the atmosphere with the old woodwork and fireplaces. Had the Kapow with chicken and asked if they could make it 1 pepper hot and not 3 (as the menu lists it as a 3 pepper hot dish). It was excellent! Service was slow (and it was not busy when we arrived). But I would definitely return as the Kapow was THAT good.

Great drunken noodles! Huge portion. Had it to go. Nice remodel and the staff was very helpful...got us water while we waited. The Panang Curry for lunch is the best!! Very sweet and spicy, I suggest chicken with adding vegetables too. The Tom Yum Soup is delicious as is their Gyoza with Thai Soy sauce. I come here for lunch once a week!

4 stars for the food - it was very good. Dinner here last night & everyone in our party of 4 was very satisfied with their food - Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew & Chicken Curry. Will definitely return, at least for the food. 2 stars for the service - it wasn't horrible, but it also was not very good.

Ate here last night; returned after nearly a year when they first had opened. Terrific staff, varied menu. My wife had a non-vegetarian dish, and I had the spicy eggplant. I would rate the "fire" at an 8, not quite Thai hot. Like the ambiance, the friendly decor, the locals that eat here.

we were celebrating a friends birthday and came for lunch, their lunch specials are an amazing value at $8 each with soup and spring roll or gyoza. We tried the Panang Curry, Green curry, Kapow, and drunken noodles. We all sampled each others dishes and they were all delicious. I would go back here for sure!

This is some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Red Curry pork was tender and the portion was large. There curry is the real deal you won't find it anywhere made like that.

The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the servers are friendly. My favorite dishes are the duck curry and the panang curry. The duck curry also includes tomato, peppers, lychee and pineapple, and comes in a good sized portion. The lunch specials are good value for money and include soup and gyoza or spring rolls. The pad thai is a typical but good representation. The only dish that I've been unsure of is the seafood fried rice. I enjoyed the spiciness, but felt it was a bit muddled in flavor. I come here often and always crave a return trip.

I like this place. The staff is always nice and i never had to wait a long time for the service. The food is consistently good (even for take out, which gets ready fast), i recommend the honey duck, it was cooked very well last time i had it! the place is small...but they did accommodate me and a party of 6 on an early (around 6pm) friday night. They also have good beer specials and happy hour food.

Semi decent Thai food, menu is mix of all types of asian food, inluding a random margarita thrown in there. P.S Don't ask for soy sauce, they don't believe they actually use it in Thailand

The food was very good, and I am happy to have a decent Thai restaurant in Golden. The issue was the service. After placing our order, two other wait people arrived asking to take our order. The appetizer arrived, and it was very good, but one of our two entrees arrived immediately, and the second entree did not arrive for another five to seven minutes. I tried to speak with the waitress about this, and she kept saying it was coming. We ended up with one hot entree and one cold entree. I'll give them another try, but hopefully they'll have their timing issues figured out.

This restaurant has been open for only a few days so far, and it seems they are off to a strong start. As soon as I walked in I felt the historic charm of the house-turned-restaurant. Many improvements have been made since it housed Tony Rigatoni's. While decor is sparse at present, the rich architectural detail combined with a pleasing amount of natural light creates a very nice ambience. The $8 lunch special was just the right amount of food. It started with a light veggie soup containing silken tofu and fresh green veggies, and also a spring roll. The flavorful drunken noodle entree that I ordered was among the best I've had. I also took bites of my girlfriend's fried rice entree and it was delicious too. For another $3 I had a tasty fried ice cream dessert, which my girlfriend and I both enjoyed. As a vegetarian, I was pleased that entrees can have tofu substituted for carnage- just be sure to ask if the other ingredients in the entree are vegetarian. The Pad Thai for instance is made with fish sauce- boo. A recommendation would be to make the veg-friendly options more explicit on the menu. Overall the experience was better than expected for a brand new business and I definitely will dine here again.

Granted I switched it up from my typical masaman curry - but the dish I had just didn't stand out. It was some beef and spices dish with cilantro (sp?). I would come back, but I wouldn't ever crave anything from here. It would be more if a group I was hanging out withe wanted to come here. Decent though - and good service.

We had Drunken Noodle. It was awesome. Finally, a nice asian restaurant in Golden

Should have read the menu better. Thai Rice = no curry :(- pretty boring - tasted to fishy (too much fish sauce?). The gyoza was good (crunchy) but I think I will go back to Monkey Thai. Lunch special $8 - ok on price but I ended up throwing over half of it away

Very friendly, EXCELLENT food. We drove all the way from downtown Denver and it was absolutely worth it. Just had some left overs for dinner, wish I had a little more. :) Full bar, very reasonable prices.

I am overjoyed to have actual Thai food in Golden, at long last! I have been here three times, each during lunchtime. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced ($8), and you get your choice of appetizer and soup, as well as the entree. Good portion sizes, each time I took some leftovers home. The veggies are also super fresh, not frozen or old. Pretty much everything on the menu can be requested as vegetarian. The first time I had the pad Thai, and it was very good. It isn't specified as spicy on the menu, so you have to request chiles to be added to it. Next was the drunken noodles, which were delicious and had just the right amount of spiciness. Most recently, I had the panang curry with tofu, which was rich, flavorful, and amazing. The only complaint I would have is that the service is a bit inconsistent. The first time I went there the service was wonderful, and the waitress was very friendly and brought our food out exactly as it was ordered. The next time, it took at least 10 minutes to get water. This restaurant is relatively new and they are working out the kinks, but it is still a great addition to Golden! It's a welcome change from the run-of-the-mill sandwich shops and Chinese restaurants around here.

Very good pad thai and excellent green curry. Lunch special with egg roll and soup is not that special as neither are very good.

Delicious $6 mixed drinks include a mango rum mojito with basil leaves. The owner says happy hour prices are coming soon. There's a nice quiet patio 1/2-a-block removed from noisy Washington St. The old-home-turned-restaurant inside offers a nice ambiance as well. Every dish I've had has been good. My favorites are the Spicy Eggplant w/ Pork and Panang Curry w/ Beef (add veggies!). The quality of the food is as good or better than Spicy Basil (Denver), Thai Basil (Denver), and Thai Monkey Club (Denver and Golden). If you're simply looking for the best Thai in Denver Metro, I don't know that Thai Gold will beat out US Thai (Edgewater) or Wild Ginger (Littleton), but it should be in the conversation. Some of the staff are far from experienced and professional, but all of them are friendly and eager to please. I've taken many friends and groups there, and it's always a hit. Don't be mislead by the occasional lack of patrons; most people eating dinner in Golden are from out of town, don't know better, and eat at the restaurants with Washington St. curb appeal. They're missing out. You, well, enjoy!

I am so excited to have a good Thai restaurant in Golden! I went there for the first time today for dinner, and had spring rolls, eggplant & tofu, and green curry. They were all excellent, and a good amount of spicy. They will make most of their entrees with tofu instead of meat, so there are many veggie options. Also, it's pretty inexpensive.

Love this restaurant for easy and delicious take-out. Panang curry is amazing, and pad see woo and pad woon sen are amazing noodle dishes. The food is authentic, and the employees are always delightful. I have eaten in a few times, but take-out is a weekly must for me. Soooo much better than the neighboring Thai Monkey- save your time and money comparing and just head over to Thai Gold. They also take the Golden ticket which can save on the total bill.

Stopped in to pick up take out for the first time tonight and was not disappointed. The Panang Curry is the best I've ever had (I'm relatively new to Thai cuisine, but my husband who has been eating it forever said it's the best he's had in over a decade)! I had a chance to visit with the owner while waiting for my order and was impressed by his hospitality in taking care of everyone waiting for takeout while making sure dine in customers were warmly greeted and taken to a table. We are looking forward to coming back again to dine in. So happy to have a Thai restaurant in downtown Golden!

Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is adorable, the waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and you can not beat the lunch special price (which lasts until 4 pm!). The Thom Yum soup is terrific with just enough spice to sweet contrast. The Pad Thai was very yummy with crushed peanuts, lime, green onions and bean sprouts. I always order tofu with my Pad Thai. The tofu was cooked perfectly. The lunch specials are also served with an appetizer; the gyoza and spring roll appetizers were a perfect portion and both were crispy and delicious! I can't wait to try this restaurant again!

Best Thai food on the west side - our entire office got takeout and we all enjoyed are dishes. Drunken noodles were made with fresh herbs and veggies, big portions. We will definitely be back!

Excellent food!! By far the best Thai food I've had in Denver and the most authentic. I would have given 5 stars but the service was pretty slow. Hopefully that will improve as they workout the kinks.

Everything we ordered was delicious, soup, salad, gyoza, and entrees. Can't wait to return and try other items on the menu. We went on a Friday night and they were very busy and the service was a little slow, but they made up for it with their friendliness and good food. Will go back ASAP. Looks like they have a great lunch special too.

I have been here once and will go back for more. The satay was uneventful, but the pad pak was delicious and made to order for my spice preference and the service was great all the way around. Generous portions also. It would be nice to have a brown rice option, I'll have to ask next time.

    (4)
  • Susan S.

Really quant place to eat. Nice and quiet there. Had the satay appetizer and the fried tofu, both were really good. They have a 0-10 spicy scale. I ordered the pad Thai at a 5, and it was perfect.

I cannot say enough good things about this little Thai jewel of a restaurant in the middle of Golden. My wife has dined here a few times before and loved it every single time. Today, she brought me to Thai Gold to share with me her love for "the best Thai food she's ever had." Oh my, was she ever right. The food was simply amazing but, to make things even more extraordinary, Jim (the owner) and his staff provided us with a dining experience as I have never experienced before. We were treated like royalty and, even though the restaurant was busy, they made us feel as if we were the only two customers present. Do yourself a favor and visit Thai Gold for the most amazing food and incredibly awesome service experience that you have ever had.

so my friend ordered pad thai and basically got fried rice. lame. tastes pretty decent but why is there rice in the pad thai?! shes one angry bear! ghost chiles and 4 lbs of rice.

Lunch specials every day from 11-4. And come with a sprig roll or Gyoza, and a soup. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and had great service. The Panang Curry is excellent.

As a Texas transplant to amazing Colorado, I wanted to find a Thai place that rivaled the amazing Thai choices that a big city like Houston affords. My guy and I have tried a few and for various reasons, not returned. We discovered gold here! We ordered gyoza for an appetizer, followed by a papaya salad and shrimp green curry that we shared. The spice level was perfect and the overall flavor was spot on. This dinner rivaled the best we've had in Houston. H-town is known for its plethora of amazing food, so I do not say this lightly. And, the prices were very reasonable. Well done. We WILL be back!

Went here after a long hike in centennial cone park. The gold Thai was hot and good. Very good. The duck was cooked perfectly. Great spot. 4 dollar dogfish head 90 minute

Tasty but different. Gaza sauce very sweet and tangy. Cashew chicken limited on veggies. Not expected tasted like sweet and sour chicken. Kapow was spicy but tasty. Had it with chicken. Recommend that dish.

What a great place! Plenty of outside eating, cute interior, very nice staff and excellent food. I had red curry with chicken and my boyfriend had kapow with beef. The portions are large and we both loved our choices.

Thank you yelpers for leading me to this restaurant. I am from Denver so I don't know much about the Golden Restaurant scene. Food was excellent, 5 stars all the way. One of the best versions of Garlic Chicken I have had in all my life. It was presented beautifully with a ring of steamed garlic around the plate. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was out of this world; garlicky sweet and an ample amount to coat the chicken and dip the broccoli. I have been dreaming about this dish ever since. The Pineapple Fried Rice was also amazing. Perfect amount of spice paired with pineapple, cashews, peas, pork, etc. The restaurant is quaint, located in a remodeled home, so it has various small rooms. Tables are comfortable and I loved admiring the Thailand art around the room. I can't wait until I have another excuse to go to Golden so I can go back.

This is the only Thai restaurant my fiancé and I will eat at in the entire Denver area. We recently moved to South Aurora, but the drive to Golden is more than worth it!! We go here for all of our special occasions... SO delicious!!!

Wonderful authentic Thai food in Golden. The menu has a great variety of traditional options for all tastes. The atmosphere is lovely and there is plenty of patio seating. The food came out quickly and all courses were hot and delicious. The honey roasted duck is excellent and is served with a perfectly flavored sauce. Desserts were also very good. We had the sticky rice mango and fried bananas served with ice cream. Overall, great local restaurant!

Stopped here with little bit of time for lunch after a meeting and was pleasantly surprised. Nice environment if you're into older homes converted into restaurants. Luckily, I am and I thought it was awesome. I asked for something sweet with a little bit of spice so the server recommended the Panang Curry and that really hit the spot. Tried the Gyoza for an appetizer and that was a perfect little treat as well. Will definitely be back on my next time through!

  • Rachael K.

Hands down the worst Pad Thai I've ever eaten. Chicken was dry and flavorless. Noodles were broken and rubbery. It tasted like a batch was made earlier in the day and hatred up but it was only about 6pm. If we were in the restaurant, instead of take out, I would have sent it back, and I never do that. I am very disappointed that the other Thai place in Golden closed.

I love that there's a decent Asian restaurant in downtown golden! The service was friendly and fast. Our waitress was very positive and upbeat. The food was above average but I can't complain! We had red curry chicken and pad Thai. I loved that they had outdoor seating. Overall, good place if you are craving Thai food!

Everything I said before is true - but I had to update my star ranking here. Over the last few months this has become our go-to Thai spot, and it really deserves more than 3 stars. The food is incredible and the restaurant is just a downright pleasant place to eat a meal. I wish I could go there right now!

Cute ambience but the entrees were far too salty. Ordered the pad see ew and ginger chicken, and we couldn't finish either due to the over seasoning with salt.

I am so so so glad that I stumbled upon this place! After several take-out orders on my lunch break, and trying various things on their menu, I am happy to say that Thai Gold gets an easy 5 stars from me. They have a kick ass lunch special, too! For $8 and some change, you get soup, an appetizer, and an entree. Can't beat that! So far I have tried their Tom Yum Gai, Gyoza, Pad Thai, Panang cury, Pad Se Yew, and their Lad Na. Everything. Is. Effing. Awesome! Really, I haven't had one bad dish from here! My favorite, so far, has been the Pad Se Yew with pork. Literally the best I have ever had. Word to the wise, start low with the spice level! They do not mess around! I love Thai hot and 7/10 on the chili scale has proved to begin to push my limits for what I can handle. I suggest starting with a 4 if you like hot and working your way up. I can't wait to dine in here! I am sure it will be very soon!

Stopped in for takeout. The hostess was very courteous, recommended a dish, took our order and told us it would be about 10 min. She offered us a drink and a seat either inside or out. Service was fast but when I got home I tried the noodles I was kind of disappointed. Although there was a lot of seafood jam packed in the box, the flavor was really salty- way too much fish sauce. My ethnicity is Laotion, pretty close to Thai, so I've tried a lot of Thai dishes. The most disappointing thing was that this dish was rated two chili peppers, so pretty spicy... Which it was not. If I would've known I would have asked for more spice. I had a major hankering for Thai food that night and I'm still not satisfied. It's still sitting in the fridge and my whole house smelled of fish sauce last night :-/

Great gem of a place! Excellent food, service and authentic! Coming from LA where tons of Thai restaurants are abound, this place in Golden really rocks. Unusual house converted to a commercial restaurant, but it works. Super busy after 6pm! TIP: ask the server for these items normally not provided: chopsticks spicy vinegar thai chili fish sauce sriacha

The place feels very homey and the staff were friendly. They have great lunch specials until 4pm with lots of selection and a choice of appetizer AND soup (for $7.99!). I read one of the other reviews about the quality of the chicken and decided to refrain from it. That was a good call. The tom yum soup comes with chicken and it was far from the best quality chicken. It reminds me of the frozen chicken filet with rib meat that I once bought from the grocery store (that was the first and last time I bought frozen chicken). It tasted rubbery and smelled like dirty rags. Okay, so moral of the story is don't order the chicken, got it? Don't worry, it gets better. I ordered the seafood fried rice off of the regular menu and it was tasty, if greasy, with a heap of scallop, prawns and a couple mussels. It was sweet and mildly spicy (I LOVE spicy food and have a pretty high tolerance for spice). I probably should've ordered 5-7 chilis (they have spice levels that go up to 10 chilis!), because the seafood fried rice was not spicy at all. The winner of the table was the beef panang curry, which was spot on with the flavors and had tender pieces of beef. I couldn't get enough of the curry and rice, even though it seemed like such a simple comfort food. Bonuses: they have a patio and their own parking lot. Thai Gold, please fix the chicken situation!

This place is awesome! The service was quick. You need to try the pad Thai with chicken. I don't always love this dish but it was great here. I will be back here for sure

I judge every Thai restaurant on their Tom Kah Gai - my favorite coconut chicken soup. This spot came pretty close. Great lunch deal with an assortment of entrees, soup, and spring rolls or goyza. The spring rolls, goyza, and pad Thai were pretty scrumptious. The Tom Kah Gai was good, but not superb. Missing the lemon grass, and light on galangal root, it only had chicken and mushrooms, not the usual chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, cilantro, etc. Well worthwhile lunch stop! We were happy with the food, cheap (happy hour) beer, and venue. Could have even eaten outside if the rain wasn't looming.

Everything we ate was delicious! We had the lunch special which is a steal. The fresh squeezed lemonade is refreshing and not too sweet. The green curry was spicy and just right. Can't wait to come back.

Good Thai food and great service. We had a bit of a big group and were able to order drinks while waiting for our table. I use green curry to judge Thai restaurants... I was not disappointed. I think it is safe to say that this was the best green curry I've ever had. If you're in Golden and looking for Thai food, this is your spot!

I've been coming here for awhile but haven't checked in. The food! Humm. Not one bad item that I've had. From the Chicken Pad Thai, to the Curry's. All very good. Lunch on the Patio is a great casual summer time treat. "Going back to work not so much!" I love it and I think you will as well.

Short and sweet. Food is great. One of the only spots I can gauge my hot food on a scale of 1-10...I went with 8 on the mussels and the curry dish. Delicious!!! Almost too hot but bearable with lots of flavor. My friends love their mojitos. I just had some wine. Best Thai food I've found out here since leaving Dara Thai in Flagstaff, AZ. Thanks Thai Gold! I'll be back.

Had a wonderful dinner on Friday night. The green curry and the pad Thai were delicious. The restaurant is off the beaten path in golden. It wasn't very big but was quiet and no music which is a nice relief. Will be going back.

Thanks Yelp for pointing me to this place. In town visiting and wanted some Asian cuisine and this did not disappoint. Steamed dumplings were done perfectly, and other appetizers and entrees came out nicely. Spiced up the "Kapow" to 5 chilis (out of 10) and it had a really great bite to it. We will be back for sure.

I have been coming here for awhile but have yet to write a review. The food here is always tasty and comes out hot. I love the lunch special! It's a great amount of food for a really good price. The only reason I didn't give it a five star review is because the service is sometimes slow.

I ordered The Deep Ocean $11 with plain rice The Deep Ocean was Shrimp, scallops, squid and mussels stir-fried with bell peppers, celery, onion, scallions and egg in a special blended yellow curry sauce first time I had this dish looked good and taste good. little bit expansive for lunch... but I recommended it. nice people.
