Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Decided to go here because the drive home in rush hour traffic would be treacherous with hungry kids. Went in, and the dining area is clean and the staff is friendly! They have cool sayings on their shirts too! We were so happy to find out that on Wednesdays: Buy a Large Pizza and get a Small Cheese Pizza FREE! That's always music to our ears when you have hungry kids that love Cheese Pizza! So we got an order of garlic knots, a Large Pizza (1/2 Pepperoni & 1/2 Buffalo Chicken), Small Cheese Pizza (yay for free!), and a 10 inch Veggie Combo Pizza (with white sauce) on a Gluten-free crust for me. Now, I can't vouch for the other pizzas or the garlic knots...But judging from the full mouths and quiet kids...the Cheese Pizza & Garlic Knots were a hit! The adults liked the Pepperoni, and the Buffalo Chicken had a kick! The Veggie Combo pizza on Gluten-Free crust was delicious! I ate it ALL Up! Our order fed 4 adults and 4 hungry kids :) So... I may not be an expert on New York Style Pizza, but I'm a fan of thin crust... And this pizza was awesome. If you are in the area, definitely give it a try!

They only survive because of the long wait times at the dmv next door. I ordered an Italian sandwich and when it came the bread was so cheap the oil and vinegar had run through the bread making it into mush. I asked the server for a new bun and she then brought me a new bun with no oil and vinegar. So then i had a dry sandwich. I told her I wasn't going to eat it and she said ok I understand but did not try any further to either get me an edible sandwich or take it off my check. I should have just waited at the dmv. It would have been a better experience.

Meh, indeed. Went in around 2pm and the place was a ghost town, but I still had to wait several minutes at the counter to place my order before anyone noticed me. I almost walked out before ordering and wish I had. $15 for a 12" pepperoni and cheese pizza with a flaccid crust and a veritable lake of grease on top? NOT New York pizza, not even close. Tried to fold a slice of this and it disintegrated in my hands.

I'd call it disappointing, but that would be an understatement. The garlic cheese bread is literally a toasted hot dog bun with cheese on it...not exactly worth $4.99. We got the Ricci Combo pizza and I could barely find the meat on it. The crust was floppy and the pizza fairly flavorless...it's not good if you have to add a ton of parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes just to have flavor. Their front door mentions how much better independent pizza shops are than pizza chains. In most circumstances, I would agree with that, but I'd take Domino's over this place any day. Lastly, if you're going to serve wine, please invest a couple of bucks in some wine glasses. Serving it in a cheap cocktail glass doesn't impress anyone.

Garlic rolls are good and thats it. My husband got an antipasti salad and there was maybe to slices of deli meat chopped up amd no cheese. The cheese sticks weren't crispy. I ordered a chicken parm and was excited about eating a nice breaded filet and got a croc of pre-sliced pre-frozen chicken pieces ! Not even a breaded filet. It tasted like prepackaged sliced chicken. Total crap. I ate maybe 1/4 of my dish. The pasta sauce on the pasta was a 1/4 water. Maybe this place has good pizza idk, and i dont care. Won't be back. I can't believe they have 3 locations and call themselves an Italian Restaurant.

6:30 pm on a Monday. Wanted a quick dinner and the hotel concierge said lil' Ricci's has NY style pizza! Ordered a beer and a pepperoni and sausage pizza. I will rate it when it comes. So far, a very inviting ambiance with music just right, very clean, and greated quickly. A number of TV's to watch the games. There is a small bar upfront if you just want a drink and a slice. Conveyer type oven so suspect to start with.....we will see. Very quick service and pizza looks great. Crust not quite NYC but for Golden CO, a strong 8! Toppings and sauce were seasoned just right. Katelyn did a great job and represents the restaurant very well. I would return.

I have eaten here several times and it has always been very good. I went in today for the lunch special and ordered my usual and it was very good. The manager is super nice. My only disappointment is that as me being a female, I was quite offended with the young red headed server that had see through pants on. She didn't seem to car that you could see everything from her backside. It was so unprofessional on her to go to work dressed like that. I would expect something like that from Twin Peaks but not here. Over all the place is great and the food is great,

First time here and I liked what I ordered. I had a mini calzone (Ricci's special?) and it was very good. Hot and fresh from the oven with a good point of fillings and a side of marinara for dipping or pouring. I also had a cup of the potato bacon soup; good and creamy. It was served with a small garlic roll which was also tasty.

OMG OIL. The pizza is actually very tasty but also just DRIPPING with oil. If you're okay with a lot of dabbing and messy napkins, then you should be fine. I have no problem with that if the pizza is worth it, which I think it is. Lil' Ricci's is a big place with nice staff and decent food. I've only had the pizza and drinks, so cannot speak to any of the other food. If I try them again and have a different opinion, I will most surely update here.
(3)Sari C.
Went for lunch. The food was great, football games were on and our server was really nice! Lasagna was good ( nice rich meat sauce), Alfredo was the real deal and the Calzone was stuffed full. Would absolutely go back again!

Worst management in Golden, I had a large order for a party today at 2:00 the little host had to get the manager, because obviously something was wrong. The man who is obviously not from Colorado says he didn't have the to go order and kept asking what number I called. Instead of offering to fix the situation he basically said I was in the wrong. You should work on your customer service skills and your appearance. That was the most un professional experience I've ever witnessed, and I've been in the business for a long time.

Great service, kids can run around, and definitely N.Y.style Pizza. Oil and all! Awesome.
(5)Mike B.
Watch the cheese when you order pizza. We had the 16 inch square Sicilian pizza which was very good, but was prepared with about twice as much cheese as it needed. Otherwise, a good casual place for a pizza/pasta/sub dinner.
(4)bob h.
Yuk. Not a good pizza place. It 's a one timer. I've been dragged there a few times by neighbors and it is consistantly bad, from day one. They need to reinvent themselves and reopen.
(2)Richard M.
we stopped in here for lunch with the kids and it was pretty darn good . We had the garlic bread and a pizza , it was a good size for 4 of us and everybody left pretty full . Service was good . Prompt and friendly . We liked it , and I would recommend for anyone .
(3)Susan A.
The first time we were in for lunch and had some good sandwiches. We thought we would give it a shot for dinner. Not a great experience. We ordered the Sicilian combo pizza. After eating the edge pieces first we tried to serve a middle piece, it was so raw and doughy it could not be picked up. I'm not talking about soggy from toppings, literally raw. We called the server over who offered to put it back in the oven (I didn't go out to have reheated pizza) or make us a few single slices of the thin crust style (not what we ordered). I finally just asked if we could get a discount on what we had. Since a quarter of our pizza was inedible I expected a discount around that, however the girl who must've been acting as manager only took off a couple of bucks. Although our server was nice and seemed a little embarrassed by it all the manager never came over or had any interaction other than rolling her eyes in our direction while the server was explaining. Poor management and not the best pizza.

After doing some damage at Kohl's on our lunch break, Alicia H. and decided to grab a slice of za, so we headed to Lil' Ricci's in the same shopping center. The pizza was OK. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either...there was no crumb left behind. However, I'm not a fan of toppings being placed on top and just warmed up on a prebaked slice of cheese pizza which is what Lil Ricci's does. I had a couple of the garlic knots that Alicia purchased and they were pretty tasty. Lil Ricci's isn't somewhere I'd actually go out of my way to stop in for lunch. However, when I'm in a pinch and need a quick lunch fix during my work day it's perfect.

Great pizza with freshest toppings, NY style, and good beer on tap. Oh, and you can order pizza by the slice! Great service, too

We were staying at the Hampton Inn near by. The hotel gave us a 15% off coupon to go here. We had been traveling all day and having some place to walk sounded good. The hotel said they had other items besides pizza. I wish we had stayed with the pizza. I got the Greek salad and it was good. It was the best thing we had. I got a spaghetti with mushroom, broccoli, and chicken. First the chicken was fried? What? Who puts fried chicken in pasta. If you do why don't you tell people on the menu. Then I counted five mushrooms in a huge portion. Overall not a good dish at all. My father had the lasagna and it was basically cheese and sauce and barely any noodles. It appears the pizzas were good from what we saw on other's tables. Beware they card everyone. My 78 total gray haired father got carded. That is fine, rules are rules and should be followed. Just beware as my dad didn't have an id and couldn't get a beer. I would only recommend this place if you were going to get the Greek Salad and a Pizza. Stay away from the pasta.
(2)Brandon F.
I LOVE their pizza! You get a fair amount for the money and it is as good as it gets before you step up to a fancy specialty pie place like pizzeria locale. Plus, you can hit up Kohls or Home Depot across the parking lot while you wait. I dropped a star because I had a few pizzas lately that didn't hit the mark set previously, so consistency may be a problem.
(4)Alicia H.
Amanda T and I stopped in for a quickie.... we hit it up during lunch time rush so considering that...our pizza slices came out quite quick. I ordered a 1/2 order of garlic knots (a little dry this time around as I have been here before) and a cheese thin crust slice with two toppings of basil & garlic (they left off the garlic which was what I was really looking forward to). The only reason I'm giving them 3* instead of 2* is that I have been here when the get it right, and have been quick and the knots have more garlic/parm/butteryummyness on them. Also just learned about the lunch punch pass they have too which I wish I would have known about before as well cuz I could have had my free slice today :(

I agree with some of the other reviewers on this place. Our service was great, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was ok. The breadsticks were very doughy and not too flavorful. The margherita pizza was literally dripping with tons of oil and had little flavor other than that, but I was in the mood for some bread, cheese, tomatoes, oil, and a bit of garlic so it worked. :) One day I'll give it another try because it's locally owned.

This place is a great little quick lunch stop in Golden. If I were still working at that Home Depot, I'd stop in a lot more often because it's like a God send for that little plaza. It's not the BEST food that you can find in the area, but it's definitely tasty, and it's very inexpensive. You can get in and out in a quick 30 mins for a perfectly quick sit down lunch.

I'm only writing this review hoping to get the management's attention. We are weekly customers of Lil Ricci's, usually ordering a pizza to-go once a week or at least every other week. The last few times the quality of service has begun to deteriorate. Two weeks ago my husband came out with the pizzas and commented on how rude and grumpy the girls at the register were. Yesterday, we called in an order of a large pizza 1/2 Ricci's combo with no onion and the other 1/2 just cheese plus a side salad no onion. When my husband went in to pick up the order they had him pay and gave him the pizza but no salad. He asked for the salad and the woman just stared at him, gave no response and asked some guy to go get the salad. Then she walked away. While he was waiting for the salad he looked at the pizza and realized it wasn't what we ordered. It was a whole Ricci's combo instead of 1/2 cheese. He told the woman and she checked the ticket to verify what we ordered and then went and told some other woman that she messed up the order who got visibly mad and didn't apologize or say anything to us. My husband asked to speak with a manager to sort out the problem with the order that was wrong that he already paid for and was looking like we were stuck with but was told one wasn't available. After a minute of standing around trying to figure out what to do next, a man behind the counter asked if it would be ok to make a small cheese pizza. He apologized several times and was the most helpful person we encountered. We agreed on the small cheese pizza and when the pizza came out we went home. We got home and then realized the large Ricci's combo that was supposed to be 1/2 Ricci's combo without onion and 1/2 just cheese that looked like a whole Ricci's combo upon pick up was really 1/2 Ricci's combo WITH onion and 1/2 Ricci's combo without onion. He is allergic to onion so now half of the pizza we paid for had to go straight in the trash. Very disappointed. We'll give it one more shot in hopes they read this and do something to train their staff and if service remains the same then we'll go find a new pizza place for our weekly business.

I hate to do this but I have to drop a couple of stars after my lunch here last week. I ordered the pizza + salad+ drink lunch special again and this time the pizza was as dry as cardboard with barely any sauce or cheese. I sent back the first piece and the second one was not much better. I ended up having to dunk each bite into my friend's cup of marinara. BOOO! I'm really disappointed as this was one of my go-to lunch spots....

Probably some of the better NY Style pizza we've had since we moved to Colorado... it's unfortunate, a lot of the pizza joints in Denver have seriously over-inflated reviews and sad, sad pizza. The pizza at Ricci's, albeit a little pricey for entire pies, was pretty good. The crust was right on, the cheese was gooey and delicious and the sauce wasn't overbearing. I also ordered a $5.99 lunch combo - a steal for a nice plate of spaghetti with meat sauce, a kickass greek salad and heavenly garlic knots. My boyfriend works right down the street and plans on picking up a white pizza this week - we've got high expectations at this point. Avoiding most of the pizza in downtown Denver where we live, most of it's made us come away shaking our heads and cursing under our breath.

We have only had their cheese pizza and wings but they were great! They use a very high quality mozz. cheese that gives their pizza an edge on all the N.Y style pizza chains! Their sauce is a little sweet but it works. Their wings are quality as well, they are thick and meaty. It's great! Not healthy but yummy.

5 stars for the Garlic Knots: the best in town! 5 stars for the Yo-Yo ravioli: wow this Yo-Yo stuff is addictive! 5 stars for the service: keeping in mind the service here shouldn't be super great anyway... it was above average 4 stars for the Super Hero: it could be a bit bigger but was tasty 5 stars for the price: we didn't order pizza, so the prices seemed very reasonable 4 stars for lasagna: they just need to put some meat in there!
(5)Joe P.
The best pizza!!! The same taste/quality/look as Bizzarros in Satellite Beach & Melbourne Beach FL. The service was great, The waitresses are chikee-dees ;0) send me all the locations in Colorado so i can plan my trips
(4)Kim R.
Yum, yum, yum! Absoultely love their pizza! If you are in the mood for a good ol' pepperoni pizza, you won't find better than this. Haven't tried a lot on their menu, but the garlic knots rock.

Traveling a bit and was staying at a near by hotel . Saw a couple of COPS eating here so I thought it must me good. Walked in and good feeling. Little sports bar feel but not overpowering. Started with antipasto. Darn good. Dressing wasn't unique but good size and very tasty. Finished it off with Spaghetti. Sweet sauce and acceptable but not what I expected. Not a good Sunday Gravy Bread sticks given on the side were pretty weak. Seemed like something that was frozen and popped in the oven. What saves this place an the OK food I had was the service was killer. Staff on it. Checked in on me numerous times during my meal. Quick and prompt. They got it going on in the service department but I'd wait a little for better food.
(3)Mark B.
Not a good dining experience. Greasy uninspired slop. The waitress who was nice and attentive talked us into a large instead of a medium because it was only a dollar more, but now I just have more to throw away.
(2)Becky S.
I think Yo-Yo is Italian for Delicious! I have to say, the pasta dish I tried was excellent. I can't wait to go back for more. I tried the Yo-Yo Ravioli, Yo-Yo being a sauce they use which is made solely of Olive Oil and Herbs and Spices. The ravioli were your standard cheese ravioli. The oil topping was delicious. There was a hint of spice, the perfect amount of salt, and yummy little bits of crispy garlic. The breadstick I could take or leave, it wasn't anything worth remembering. The pizza looked really greasy, which is why I didn't try any. The wings were weird, tossed in a mixture of buffalo sauce and a tangy BBQ which I wasn't a fan of. They weren't very crispy, either. But I forgot about the wings once my ravioli came out. Service was prompt and friendly, I'll definitely be back! (And John, I guess I won't try the pizza by the slice!)

I would never have known that this place existed had it not been for one of our five hundred trips to Home Depot lately. It's by the Staples/Kohl's/Petco area off of Colfax and 6th Ave. It was a late Saturday afternoon when my husband and I stepped into Lil' Ricci's. There were a few occupied tables, with many of the diners watching the NCAA tournament on their two TVs. We decided to get two slices of thin pizza with sausage, olives, and mushrooms. The sausage was thinly sliced, not crumbled. The mushrooms were raw. It's totally personal preference, but I really dislike raw mushrooms. The sausage was different, but not bad. In general the pizza was OK, but the crust was too thick for what I consider to be New York Style pizza. It was also a bit on the soft side, not crisp like I expected. (After mentioning this to my husband, he said there's a note on the menu that you can order yours "extra-crispy," which I didn't notice while ordering). The sauce is on the sweet side. While the pizza isn't bad, I'd rather get Anthony's than Lil Ricci's. (and if we're not supporting local businesses, I'd get Papa John's over either!) We also ordered a meatball hero. In a word, the meatballs were spongy. They tasted very processed. Spongy and processed. Not two words I'd like to describe any meatball. It was served sliced in half covered with cheese and sauce on some sort of white roll, with kettle cooked chips on the side. Combined with one drink, our late lunch was less than $15. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever re-visit Lil' Ricci's. Customer service was just average - drink refills were quick and the like, but nobody asked us how our food was. They also sell beer there, if you are so inclined. Sorry Lil' Ricci's...
(2)Chad H.
Meh. They way overcook their slices... You're suppose to undercook, they finish when it's ordered. They cook, then overcook so your pizza is a cracker and your toppings are underdone. Could be the cook of the day, but that was my experience... Plus, the waitress spilled beer on herself and made me feel guilty for it.
(2)Denver D.
Went here with my mom last week... The place was pretty packed so we expected it to be pretty good.. Looking at the menu the pizzas were pretty pricey, than you could choose from the "new york style" pizza or the thick crust... Honestly the thick crust was thinner than most regular pizzas, so that sucked. And for a large thick crust you were looking at around 24 bucks, too much if you ask me... We ended up each getting a calzone which was great. Good size, we even had left overs to take home. I would definetely go back and get a calzone, but to me the pizza does not look worth the price.
(3)Jen G.
Best pizza I've had since moving here from NYC. Great NY style service and delicious, authentic NY style pies. Yum!
(5)J C.
This is my husband's and my favorite CALZONE place!! If you're a calzone fan - they make it with mozz and ricotta, with whatever you want in it, and an ample side of sauce! The crust is perfectly baked, and it's not overly thick. I've had slices too, and I love them. Next time, I'll order a pizza. The garlic knots are good, and my son orders the side of meatballs - 2 large meatballs in sauce for $2 - what a deal. I've also ordered the baked dish with lasagna, raviolli and spaghetti, covered in cheese and sauce - I really liked it, and had enough left over for lunch the next day. Every time we head to Kohl's or Home Depot - this is where we stop!
(4)John S.
So...I guess I got caught up in excitement the first time I went in... And for that, and for misguiding my friends out there in Yelp-land, I sincerely apologize... I've been back several times now, and one thing has remained consistent. The Garlic Knots are good. Everything else though, it's hard to know what you're going to get. Sometimes the service is absolutely fabulous, other times it is mediocre, slow, or downright awful. Sometimes, the food is good. Sometimes it's not. I've eaten pizza by the slice in a lot of different places, and I understand that when I order pizza by the slice they're taking a cheese pizza they cooked at some point in the past, putting my toppings on it, and tossing it back in the oven. Sometimes the pizza by the slice I get is great, it tastes fresh, and it still has the consistency of a New York style pizza. Other times, I get a charred piece of "pizza" where the cheese pizza was either cooked WAY too long ago, or it was tossed back in the oven with my toppings for way too long, and burned into a little crisp... Lacking consistency, I wonder if it's worth the time to roll the dice, hoping that decent service and decent food will line up for one magical moment in time. If you're in the 'hood, and everything else in your day has made you feel like the Gods are smiling down upon you, give it a try. If for some reason you're worried about your luck being bad...skip it...
(2)Rachel C.
Got the lunch special, slice and salad. Pizza had all the meats and veggies clumped together not very hot. What little cheese was on it wasn't even melted. Thumbs down.
