Man, what a phenomenal experience! I went here on a whim looking for a tasty lunch on a Saturday and got exactly that! We walked in and grabbed a table in the bar area with a view of downtown golden and enjoyed one of the tastiest appetizers I've ever encountered. The trout spread was so delicious that I didn't even have room for my entree, the lamb burger (I recommend medium rare) it comes with a cucumber sauce similar to taziki on top and it's really a special treat that I feel goes really well on a warm spring day.

The bridgewater is in a great setting right on the river. The staff is nice. The cheeseburger is amazing! I wish the staff pace and attention to detail was just as amazing as the cheeseburger. While there for a meeting, we had 4 meals. The only consistent thing was their inconsistency and pretty slow service. The food is great, but only recommend if you aren't on a time limit.

I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, but the bun was soggy and the fries were undercooked. It was quite a disappointment. The view and wait staff were wonderful. The food was severely lacking.

We started this lunch stop with about a 20 minute wait but then seated on the outside patio. We were greeted by Brian who was from Tennessee as you could tell pretty quickly. Super friendly service and promptness in keeping our drinks refilled. My wife ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the western burger with bison instead of beef. The fish and chips were nothing to write home about, but my burger was one of the best I've ever eaten....and I've had a lot of burgers over the years. You need to stop here.

Terrible service , staff has terrible attitude, slow, bad food, over priced. Would appreciate management contacting me as we have never been so frustrated with a dinning experience as this place ! Horrible go somewhere else in Golden as there are many a small businesses that deserve your money over this joke of a place

Stopped at in for breakfast on the patio with rolling river and mountain views. I grew up in Golden and this was my first time to stop in for breakfast. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs and the flavor of the bacon was amazing. Our wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive.

Went for dinner with 2 other couples early on Saturday night. Told us 45 mins for outside seating so we went with our inside reservation. Our waitress quickly greeted us and took drink orders. I was thinking some reviews here were rare occurrences rather than the norm. It turns out that she was the only person waiting on the dining room. Plus, a busser admitted to us that the kitchen was behind and slow tonight. They were not that busy. About 40 mins, spilled drink, and a no service period later our meals arrived. I will say the wild game meat loaf was good and plentiful. Dare I say it was worth the wait? Probably not. Luckily, we were all engrossed in good conversation (albeit with empty glasses) so the experience was not horrible. Bottom line is that this place has a great location, decent menu but the delivery left a lot to be desired. Management needs to address staffing so guests can get attention. My parting thought was that this restaurant would be perfect for one of the restaurant rescue reality shows! If they fix it I'll be back. Otherwise there are lots of other places in Golden where service is better.

We had an excellent meal here. The Tuna Tartare was excellent, and the main courses were excellent. The options were very big for the price. we're taking home leftovers. The service was friendly and very attentive.

Business dinner before a concert at Red Rocks. Location right on the creek with outside and inside seating. Spacious layout so there is no crowding and conersation is easy. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Menu has a great selection, we had the green chilli soup which was outstanding, the miners salad and a special meatloaf. Will definitely go back.

Poor service and bad food (don't order the creme brûlée oatmeal!) marred an otherwise lovely dining experience (the location is great).

Had one of the best margaritas ever right here in Golden, CO -- fresh lime juice, not too sweet, strong and refreshing after a long drive through Utah. Served by one of the loveliest, friendliest, most knowledgable, most helpful servers I've come across. The Southwest salad is made with local arugula & a fresh jalapeño-cilantro dressing -- really excellent. We were floored to find this gem of a restaurant in this tiny little town.

I just stopped in for cocktails last night. Doug was our bartender, and was awesome! We all had bloody marys, and they were delicious. My niece and nephew had their first Shirley temples, and they loved them. We didn't order food last night, but I've been there recently for dinner. The menu seems to have been updated, and the food has been delicious! I had a bison burger both times, and it was very tasty. Highly recommend!!! Fantastic patio!

There is a nice patio and there is a creek that flows by and it is a very pretty area. It was a bit chilly the night we were there but it still a nice experience. I had the lobster roll. Lots of bread and crab but it could have had more moisture and a bit more flavor. My husbands cornbeef sandwich was good but he had one the next day and said it was tastier. I did love the homemade chips We were looking for a place in the area for the rehearsal dinner. I think we are doing a late lunch and maybe downtown will work better. Bridgewater still maybe the place but we need to check on some more places. Any ideas in the area would be helpful. I would go back in the daytime or warm summer evening. A beer would have been delightful but we were tired and still had to drive home.

The in-laws recently relocated to the area and have begun to frequent the Bridgewater, so they took us for lunch while we were visiting. If you're looking for an easy place that has something for everyone, or really just want to sit outside on a patio, Bridgewater is perfect for that. Like a lot of other reviewers, I also think the food was just average. The beer list is weak. They didn't do anything wrong, but they don't do anything special either. Bridgewater is safe, and you can't beat the location, but nothing noteworthy is happening there.

The service was friendly but not attentive. Often left with empty water and tea glasses. Food took over 30 minutes to arrive and they were not overly busy. The food was disappointing. The Baja tacos were dry and lacked flavor. For the price more was expected. Sad to say we may not be returning guests. Although the patio and the scenery is tough to beat.

The happy hour menu provided food that was on par with any other bar in town. Abby was a wonderful server and very attentive. My biggest gripe was that once seated on the patio were were told it was a "no happy hour zone." Told we could go to the other area of the patio where it was happy hour, but no seating there (maybe 15 seats total) or could go to the bar. Then they told us there was no bartender at the bar. Staff seemed to understand how stupid it was and the supervisor, was told he wasn't the manager, said he would honor happy hour at our original table. All toll, it was a run around and seems that the manager is not really prepared. Really no one in the bar to serve?? Just felt like a penny-pinching place. Thanks to Abby's great attitude we had a good time.

Best part of this cafe....atmosphere and the bartender! Nice view overlooking the river. Food not bad. Drinks were great. Rum Runner specials. Stop by if you are in Golden! Great little city to visit.

My parents were in town last weekend and the family wanted a place that had a little bit of everything to satisfy everyone's tastes. While my meal in particular wasn't spectacular, everyone else really enjoyed theirs, so even though I've had better, overall I think this is an A-OK place. We had some fish n' chippers who were happy, and my sister loved the fish tacos. Mom went with the Foothills Hot Roast Beef Sandwich and raved. Unfortunately my Front Range Burger was so overcooked and over-peppered I could hardly eat it. The fries were cold and hard too, so that was kind of disappointing. Overall the Bridgewater offers some decent standard pub fare along with some more inventive choices. Assuming the burger bummer was a fluke, I'd go back.

We were amazed at the service and the quality of the food. Had large group with several children and one baby. We lucked out and got Marty for our server. He was awesome and did everything to make our meal special! Thank you, Marty!

Bridgewater has been hit or miss with food and service the few times I've been there, but a decent spot for a Sunday breakfast, until today. I have had poor service at restaurants before, but my breakfast at Bridgewater this morning was the first time I've ever experienced downright rude service. From the moment we arrived our waiter was curt and inattentive. Granted we had a large group of 9 people, but we were not particularly loud or disruptive, and the restaurant was not busy. I still don't understand how they could offer bottomless mimosas on the menu and then arbitrarily set the limit at 3. Given our group size our waiter stood to make a huge tip; instead I'm left puzzled at how or why we were treated so poorly today, and Bridgewater has lost 9 regular customers as a result.

Bad service, walked out after 15 minutes and our server still hadn't taken our order. She walked past several times without even acknowledging us.

  • Justin P.

As a resident of Golden CO, I would recommend finding a different place to go. Food is overpriced and service is recently terrible. Have been there several times, most recently was told by the manager that bottomless mimosas are limited to 3 drinks which mainly consist of orange juice anyways. A server there named David will make the experience uncomfortable if he has to return to your table more than twice. There is better food and better service elsewhere.

Over the years I've enjoyed stopping here for a bite when we visit Golden - too bad I will not likely be returning. Food is great & the view of Cripple Creek is awesome. Unfortunately, every time I've been here the service has been a disaster, and the wait for your server and food is outrageous. During our last visits, there was a mixup at the front reception and they skipped over a couple who'd been waiting for a long time, which resulted in a scene of angry visitors who stormed out. We were seated quickly and waited 10 min and no server. Asked the bus boy to track one down and that caused even more confusion with staff. Then as we waited and waited and waited for our meal (about 35 min for 2 adults and 1 kids meal), we watched the table next to us get furious with the waiter (who was also ours) who lost the guests credit card during the payment process. They had all the servers frantically looking to find this lady's card. Thankfully it was located 15 minutes into the search. The service is slow and the staff are for the most pet young, clueless, and have no regard for customer service. If this doesn't bother you, try it out -- but keep a close eye on your credit cards!

I was at guest in the Bridgewater grill this Sunday and we were completely ignored ignored by david. The service was substandard.

Bridgewater Grill delivers a consistently good meal every single time I visit. I have celebrated birthdays here, other special occasions and enjoy sitting in the lounge when flying solo. My favorite dishes include the trout dip, the beef tenderloin and tonight the nachos. Locally brewed craft beer is also on tap. Sitting in beautiful downtown Golden, CO there is nothing else to wish for in dining.

  • Melissa L.

The food here is delicious with good gluten free options. I had the fish tacos and my fiancé had the lamb burger and we were both very happy with the taste. That combined with the view atmosphere made for a fantastic lunch. We will be back next time we are in the area.

  • Cori K.

We like this place, the location is top-notch. We love to sit on the patio and people watch. The service is always good, albiet, a little slow at times. The largest drawback is that the food is hit and miss sometimes... And it's a little overpriced. Go for the views and the friendly service, and not to be wowed by the food.

Excellent service from Katie and great fish tacos and burgers! Sat at the bar on the patio w a great view of clear creek.

Went to Bridgewater grill today. Food was tasteless but expensive. Our server David was immediately offput by our presence and we still have no idea why he was so rude to us. We all have bad days, but this was unprofessional and uncalled for. The only thing this place has going for it is the location.

    (1)
  • Eric W.

They are always accommodating and the food is good. I love the vibe and location. It's casual and relaxed. They don't have a wine or beer binder but they do have a decent selection. The service is good and quick to fix anything they can. All and all I enjoy it and so does my family.

This place has held legendary status for me as the best bison burger available when I first dined here in 2010 when visiting a friend. I returned this year and it lived up to reputation. Though we didn't get to sit outside this time (which is excellent if you have the chance) the food was still excellent and the wait staff was very courteous. Throw in some fresh banquet beer and it makes for a great meal.

This is my favorite place to eat in Golden. I take all my visitors here for the patio ambiance overlooking the creek. Great quality food, rich yummy flavors, and reasonable prices. They even accept Golden Tickets. If they jacked up their prices, I would still choose this place. The waitresses are friendly and the drinks aren't stingey. One time we ordered martinis and they came warm. We asked for some ice, and they were super appologetic, offering to remix them. The bartender came over to appologize herself, and offer us other drinks. We were happy just adding some ice, and told her not to worry. They took both drinks off the bill.

This rating is purely about the experience and not the food, since we didn't actually get to try the food. We went to this restaurant in the afternoon on a day that was not busy, were seated quickly on a very nice outdoor patio, and then spent 15 minutes sitting at the table watching several waiters and waitresses walk by without so much as acknowledging our presence. We finally left after realizing the people around us who arrived later were being waited on and we still had not even been offered waters. It was a beautiful location, but the menu was pretty limited and overpriced, so I don't think we missed out on much.

Great location, food could be so much better. The specials are always great, so the chef has talent, but they won't let him/her off the leash. The burgers are pretty good. Beer selection sucks. Margaritas are terrible. Green Chile is blah, not worth the calories or money. They need to start over with a new menu.

I spent quite a bit of time on the patio at the Bridgewater Grill this summer. We had been here a couple of times over the course of the past few years, but this summer we took advantage of the Golden Hotel's free concert series. So I spent most Thursdays between June and September sitting on the patio here. They have a decent happy hour selection, both food and drinks. And I've tried the bulk of their regular menu items as well. I've really enjoyed every entree, sandwich and salad that I've tried, and the food items on their happy hour menu are tasty too. The service is usually fast and friendly. One night, when the weather ruined our patio time, they moved the music inside and the bartender was less than happy to see us. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt though, as she wasn't expecting to be swamped. I won't hold it against them. This is a great place to take visitors because the atmosphere and views are great. Prime people watching in the summer with all the hustle and bustle on the trail by the creek, and watching the tubers is always amusing. If you happen to visit, try the parmesan truffle fries on the happy hour menu, they're awesome!

The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because of the location. I had high hopes for this place because they have a really nice outdoor patio with a great view of the river. Other than that, their food is meh, their beer and drink selection is meh, their service is meh, and it's way overpriced for the quality. My four friends and I went on a Sunday afternoon about 5pm. It was not that busy but we waited at least 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by anyone asking us if we'd like a table (and there was no wait for tables). When we were finally seated, it took at least another 10 minutes for the server to take our drink orders. They have about 5 or 6 specialty cocktails, and I wasn't sure which I wanted, so I asked for the server's recommendation. She recommended the Blackberry Splash (don't remember the exact name) so I went with that. When it came, I tried it and it was terrible. Everyone at my table tried it and also agreed it was terrible. I think I've sent back a drink maybe once or twice in my life because I'm not super picky, but I just couldn't bear to drink this one. When I asked the server if I could get something else instead, she acted annoyed. I ordered a Colorado Mule, which didn't even come in a copper cup, and it was still meh, but I drank it anyway. Three of us ordered the fish and chips, which was not horrible, but not great either. All of our cuts had the exact same triangle shape, which screams pre-made frozen in a factory, not made at the restaurant. The best thing about that dish were the fries. I also had a cup of their cream of asparagus soup, which was the most watery soup I've ever had. The taste was ok, but it was definitely not creamy as the name implies. After we were done with our meal, we made our way over to the bar to grab a few more drinks and hang out for a bit longer. When I went to order from the bartender, I told her that the Blackberry Splash was terrible, and started to ask for another recommendation, but before I could even finish, she cut me off and said, "Well then you won't like anything on the menu" in a snooty voice. Um, ok... wow. How about asking what I didn't like about it? Or actually asking me what I like and making a recommendation? I think I was kind of shocked by that response, so I sheepishly ordered another mediocre Colorado Mule. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be back here. I enjoy Woody's Woodfired Pizza much more.

Bring people you want to impress here, like a business client, associate, or even a date. Quiet, casual elegance, with excellent dishes and friendly service. A bit pricey, but worth it.

We told the server we only had 1 hour for dinner. Food was amazing & served timely. One friend modified her spinach salad w/ steak strip (not on the menu) and the presentation was fantastic. Well done in every way.

Great food! Wonderful presentation and fairly priced. A deal even! Big sunny deck overlooking Clear Creek in Summer. PLUS there is live Jazz music in the bar on Thursday evenings - a pleasant surprise!

This review is for lunch. We stopped by for a snowy day and had a great lunch! I tried the daily lunch box. The chef's sandwich of the day was a Caesar wrap. My only complaint was that it was too tiny. Especially since it was so delicious! Plus the cookie that came with it was the best chocolate chip cookie that I have ever had...and I know my desserts! Once again it was too small. But I think I could have eaten that cookie if it was the size of my head! The steakhouse stuffed burger was also amazing! The Southwestern Burger was good. If I lived in Golden I would be back. So many things look good on that menu!! I don't often choose a Bloody Mary but I had a sip of theirs and it was super yummy! Yum yum! Visit here if you are in Golden. Cute little town!

After reading the several not so positive reviews I was debating on visiting this place, but I am happy I went. The food was great and the view was incredible. We were here on a business meeting and they did not rush us at all to leave nor did we feel rushed. If you are looking for a place to grab lunch with a great view of the creek and surrounding mountains do not skip The Bridgewater Grill.

We dined here at the Mother's Day Brunch this past weekend and it surpassed my expectations. On the buffet were apricot turkey, prime rib, chicken, 2 kinds of fish dished, salads, plenty of sides, shrimp cocktail, breakfast bar, chocolate fountain, full dessert bar and $10.00 bottomless mimosas. EVERYTHING was good and well worth the price of the buffet. Even though we live less than 5 minutes away we never think to go here for lunch or dinner. Place is right on Clear Creek with outdoor patio seating. I would highly recommend for the buffet's when available.

  • Andy S.

This place needs music. It smells like dryer sheets on the patio because of the hotel. It's great to be able to hang out near the water which is something we can't do in Denver even though we have a creek and a river running right through downtown.

2 stars for pretty good food, -1 star for service (yes, that bad). I'm a very patient person, and have worked in restaurants through college, so I'm absolutely sympathetic to what they deal with. We've come in the past and had some consistently slow service here, but that's fine--didn't really bother me. Last night (8/29/13), however, we had a large group out on the patio. The hostess told us that, due to fire code, they can only have 8 people at each table (understandable). That was fine until others showed up, and we had more than 8 people at the table. We asked if we could get another table after she chastised us in a very unnecessary way, and she said yes, so two of us went to move to the new table, at which point she informed us that she wouldn't seat an incomplete party. So we can't have less than 8 people at the table, and we can't have more than 4 people at the other table, and we have 10 people there... Huh!? So we told her to change the "reservation" she made 5 min ago for the table on the almost empty patio to a reservation for two. *MAGIC!* All of a sudden we can sit at the table, with just the push of a button on her computer! (/sarcasm) She was just nasty the whole time, like we were putting her out by having the audacity to bring a party of 12 to their empty patio on a weeknight. On the plus side, our server was quite nice and tried hard, but that may be because it was only her 3rd shift and the cynicism of the other employees hadn't yet infected her. As I said, I'm sympathetic to what restaurant workers have to deal with, and I understand it from a behind-the-scenes perspective, but the hostess's attitude last night was just ridiculous. Won't be coming here again, that's for sure. That probably goes for the rest of our party of 12, too--way to kill 12 birds with one stone! ;-)

  • Christopher C.

The staff was very nice, however, my beef tenderloin entree was overcooked and dry for a medium rare order. Aside from this, everything else on the menu was tasty. The view from the dining area was pretty.

    (3)
  • Vanessa C.

Kind of disappointed. It's such a nice hotel and great location but the food was average- and that's being generous. My eggs tasted like fish. Yuck! My food was kind of cold. Nothing special. My group of 10 was not impressed. One of my friends had to have their eggs cooked three times because they couldn't get "over-medium" right (they discounted us for this mishap). The staff was fantastic! I did a dinner party here last year and it was awesome-- but AVOID BRUNCH!

The Colorado Beer Tour is one of the best ways to spend an evening in Colorado. I am a regular customer of the beer dinner because it pulls out all the stops on the creativity of the chef at the Bridgewater Grill. We make our reservation for the next dinner at the previous months dinner. It is something that should not be missed! The food and beer always complement each other. Often the beer being served is incorporated into the course. Its been great getting to know the local brewers and the knowledge we have gained is incredible. One of the highlights of the evening is "Stump the Brewmaster".

Was excited to try this place out (the menu sounds great), but can't say that I'll be back. Definitely pricey & I'm not quite sure that the quality justifies the cost. Drinks: The prices were so high that we just went with waters (you can buy a 6 pack for the price of one beer). Food: We had the trout dip to start. The trout itself was delicious. It was served with mounds of egg, onions & capers..everything was separate, so you had to build your own bite. However, trying to fit all 4 things onto the teeny tiny pita points was impossible. The sizing proportions of the app is way off & resulted in a lot of wasted food. We had the fried chicken entree, which we both loved. Also had the fish tacos, which we did not love. The menu description made it sound flavorful, but it wasn't at all. Tasted extremely plain. Made me wonder if they forgot to put something on it. Once again, the sizing was off. You couldn't actually eat it like a taco b/c the ingredients were 5x the size of the mini tortillas. Disappointed, but maybe we ordered the wrong things.

have had a couple of breakfasts here and am never disappointed. Love the bennys. staff are always attentive, friendly and accommodating. which means a lot since my 2 young girls demand a quicker service and lots of attention! can't wait to be on the patio in spring!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here sitting outside with a beautiful view of the creek right next door. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Our waitress was very attentive and they have a nice beer selection. We will definitely go back again.

Typical of hotel restaurants, the Bridgewater Grill is a little lacking for atmosphere and the food was a little slow in preparation. That said, the food was surprisingly good. The ingredients seemed very fresh (particularly enjoyed the spinach dip, which was freshly made from fresh spinach). My pepper-blackened burger was cooked perfectly, as was my date's seared tuna. The beer selection is decent, and the view overlooking Clear Creek is great. All in all, a quite nice eating establishment!

They shoot for a "four-star" ambiance but the food and service were not amazing. Not bad but definitely not amazing. Especially for the price.

their au poive burger stuffed with bleu cheese and bacon with a side of sweet potato fries were delish and quite the deal at $12. granted it took forever for the service (but we did have a party of 5), it was nice that we were able to order hh specials at the table and not at the bar. you don't have a view inside (darn sun shines straight at ya and they cannot close the curtains), but patio view is pretty sweet overlooking boulder creek! however, they did shortchange me..sure it's only a few cents, but my meal was $16 and change and i was only given bills back no coins.

Loved this place! We just moved to Golden about a month ago and this was our first venture out for brunch. The Bloody Mary was fantastic - just the right amount of spice. The chicken and waffles was unbelievably tasty. The husband is a vegetarian and even tried it - his comment was, "now that's the way chicken tenders are supposed to taste!". P.S. He's from the south, so he knows his fried chicken. He had an omelette, and had I not been so intent on eating every last bite of my meal, I would have tasted his, too. But, it received 5 stars by his standards. Not too pricey from what we've become accustomed to, so that was also nice. The restaurant sits next to a creek in downtown Golden, so the scenery was top notch. And, the service was outstanding. Not much more I can say about this place besides, "when can we go back?!?!"

  • Anne T.

This place is consistently terrible. The service is unprofessional - I was once asked by a server, who brought my food out with the wrong toppings, if it'd be ok if he just "scraped it off". I was in shock, and we almost left immediately. The food is not that great, 2 stars, and the service is - 1 star. It's a bummer because they have such a great spot right along the creek.

This restaurant has a great location right along Clear Creek, and the back patio is the best place to enjoy a sunny summer afternoon. If your looking for something lighter than your typical tavern meal of a hamburger with fries, but are unwilling to commit to a boring salad or wrap, I recommend the Miner Salad. Its comes with blackend beef tips, fries, and blue cheese dressing on top of a spring mix salad. Oh, did I mention it had bacon bits as well. Yummm.

Went on a busy Friday night, so all the tables inside were taken by reservation. Had to go sit outside on the patio with other people. It was nice enough to sit outside, but they only had one waitress outside. She seemed way overwhelmed and the service took a while. The trout dip appetizer was great, even with the extremely slow service. The food was reasonably priced. I got the Salmon Club which I thought was mediocre. Way too much mayo on it and too much Brie cheese. Good sweet potato fries. With good, timely service I would give this place 4 stars.

View was 4 star. Food looked great, but was barely 3 star Service was 2 star. We sat there for 15+ minutes before a server came over to us. Then he didn't come back for another 15 minutes...Blackened chicken salad was microwave seasoned chicken, and not warm. But, again the view from the patio is great!

Late morning breakfast on the patio on Labor Day. Good food. Good service. Good setting along Clear Creek. Sampled their nitro brown ale beer (for breakfast!) and will return for more. After the meal, took a walk along Clear Creek on the path that runs next to the restaurant & hotel. Bridgewater Grill is worth the drive to Golden from elsewhere in the Denver/Boulder area (and hang out for a while in Golden) and certainly a good place to stop if already in town.

I've been back recently for breakfast and now the inverse is true. The service is much improved but the food is lacking. They used to cut slices of strawberries and sprinkle a small amount of powdered sugar on top of the pancakes (this is why I come! No one else does this). Lately, I've had to ask for this after the pancakes have come out plain. They then proceeded to bring out a small dish of uncut strawberries and charged me 3 dollars. On a later visit, I reminded them to slice the strawberries and sprinkle the sugar, as they used to do. So their response? I got half the hash browns and scrambled eggs as usual and they sliced the strawberries but they were two tiny pieces! I couldn't believe the game they were playing. The bill for the breakfast? Close to 25 dollars with tip! I have given up on this restaurant. I now go to a local competitor.

about a week ago, my aunt and I ate at the Bridgewater grill and we were amazed at the food. the meals were well put together and very delicious. the service was also superb and very polite and nice. the decor of the restaurant was also very pleasing and easy on the eyes. I can't wait to go back.

Very surprised by the reviews, I had the turkey club, which was very good and the wait staff did there job well.

The Colorado beer tour is where it's at! Amazing food and beer! Jeremy does a great job with this dinner each month. The chef (Matt) makes excellent food/beer pairings and the wait staff (Melissa, Eric and jill) is attentive and efficient.

We love hanging out on the patio over looking Clear Creek in the summer or in the restaurant in the cooler months. The food is always good. It is nice that they have healthier options than most places.

One of the few places in Golden that you can actually find GOOD food and beer selections that breaches the crappy coors barrier. We've visited the several times and have always enjoyed our meal, snacks & service. I can highly recommend the fish tacos! They have a nice patio that overlooks Clear Creek which is perfect for lounging at after a day of tubing in the creek. Good food, decent beer selection that actually includes a few non-coors selections, made from scratch margaritas (not made from sugary sweet mix) and nice friendly service. About as good as it gets in Golden!

Great deck overlooking the river. I keep going back to Bridgewater in the summer for the deck and alway find myself being disappointed with the food. They seam to be going for upscale appetizers that are small and not quite worth the money. More like tapas than your traditional appetizers. The service is very slow. Would not recommend going to Bridgewater if you are wanting to eat right away. But if you are looking for a drink with a good view and are willing to wait Bridgewater is a good choice in down town Golden.

I was on my way to capitol grill, but being in a damn democracy of a group, I was turned around from potential $1 coors drafts to a restaurant in a hotel. Seriously? Ok, I'll give it a go... The patio definitely is a nice place to relax but I warn you, on a hot day with no cloud cover those black dawnings heat up and toast you underneath, very uncomfortable. Thankfully, cloud cover returned intermittently, and the change in temperature was very noticeable. We got there at 3:14, about 45 minutes before happy hour, and didn't get around to ordering until about 20 til HH, and didn't get our first drinks until right at 4ish. Our relationship with the waitress had a sour start, but I think all parties were waiting for HH, though things moved at a snail's pace, we managed to get by enjoying the view quite well. I had the cheese and fruit plate, it was good, with 2 different glasses of white. And by the end of our meal the waitress, now quiet friendly, finally suggested a glass, which of course was one I hadn't tried. Sorry babe, your time is up, we would've given ya 4 stars if ya picked up the pace initially, then again, my vino would've been full price, so we'll move it from a 2 to a 3, a draw if you will... My friends had the burgers, one ordered scallops, the burgers were monstrous, and the scallops delicious, I was assured. My fellow diners annoyed me a tad because not only did they turn me away from cheap draft beers, but they weren't sure if a restaurant in Golden had Blue Moon on tap...seriously folks, that's a given. I had a legitimate reason to wait some 5-10 minutes for a wine list, but don't make me wait for a beer list too...that is another problem with this restaurant, they don't have everything on the menu, you have to ask for a wine list, a beer list, and a desert list. Oh, and btw, the tea was horrible, two of my fellow patrons sent their glasses back.

We've been spending a few nights a week at the Bridgewater Grill for over a year now, and really enjoy the staff and service. We really enjoyed the food , and were happy to recommend highly, until recently. The menu was overhauled, and in the process one of the best sandwiches in town was lost ( they had a spectacularly good roast beef sandwich ). The replacement for our favorite dish resembles a sloppy joe on a cheap hamburger bun. In addition, the outstanding mushroom cheeseburger has been removed. It would seem that the insidious practice of impressing one's peers with offerings has overtaken impressing one's customers. We'll probably continue to stop in for a drink now and then, but dinner is a thing of the past for us. A month ago, this was an easy 5 stars. Amazing what taking decent food off of the menu can do to a place.

I don't know if it's a sign of a still-recovering economy, a post holiday slump or just a typical Monday night in a small-town hotel restaurant, but last night the Bridgewater was a ghost town. My hubby and I were literally the only souls in the dining room at 6:00. Kind of awkward, but hey, we had excellent service (it's not like the waitress had anything better to do). I took a chance and ordered the cheese and basil ravioli. I normally will not order a pasta dish in a restaurant that is not known for its Italian food, unless the pasta dish is something other than traditionally Italian, and here's why. The raviolis were overcooked and contained some unidentifiable pasty substance which I can only presume was cheese and basil, based on the description on the menu. It was smothered in some sort of tomato sauce (the description said "tomato cream sauce" but I think they were a little skimpy on the cream) that tasted as if it had been scorched while being reheated for the millionth time (make a new batch already!). I managed to choke down 2 raviolis before I threw in the towel and resigned myself to nibbling on the garlic toast and sniping bites of my husband's meal. And, I'm not saying this is related or anything, but within an hour of eating, I was struck with a very sudden and urgent... shall we say... "digestive issue?" Coincidence? Perhaps. My hubby fared much better with the blackened tilapia fish tacos wrapped in warm corn tortillas with a slice of avocado and shredded cabbage. The homemade salsa that came with it was smoky and delicious. I guess the bottom line here is knowing what to order. Salads and sammies on the patio - they do verrrrry well. Pasta? Not so much. I'll be back in the summer for another update - that is if they survive the winter, which I hope they do.

Bridgewater is located in the Golden Hotel right along Clear Creek-the back patio is one of best locations, views in the Front Range. The two level patio has wonderful views of the hills above Golden, and Clear Creek plays music to the ears-location is everything. We only had some wine, but decent crispy sweet potato fries. Sitting above Clear Creek as the sun sets is a perfect place-there are tables, and a bar which a few people noted had very good martinis. The manager came out several times to talk shop about the competition and what ideas we had to improve the menu, happy hour. Heading back soon to check out the real food menu on a Friday night watching the sun go down!

The outdoor seating is great next to the creek and bike trail. The food is okay...nothing spectacular but good and a fair price. The staff is friendly but the view of the creek really makes this place.

Zero stars if possible but it's not so I guess the star is for the daytime bartender, since he was the places only saving grace. First we ordered a strawberry daiquiri, mind you we asked if they could do one and they said yes..... But oh did they lie. It was not very good. Not a big deal, not all places have good mixed drinks. We ordered food; Caesar salad and fish and chips. The lettuce was brown.... But the kicker was the $9 fish and chips. Two little pieces of dark brown overcooked fish and ten fries. Again, whatever.... The view made it all ok. Till I found the hair cooked into my fries.... The bartender was so nice about it and said the manager would handle it. The very young manager came out in his way too big suit and was a complete jerk. He stated it wasn't hair but burlap from the potato bag.... I don't care, I still didn't have a hankering for burlap.... And don't they wash the potatoes and cut them and wash them again?! The customer should always be right.... And I wouldn't want plastic in my salad, why is burlap ok in my fries. Ps I'm a hairdreser and know when hair is hair but whatever. It was just so rude! Then the lady bartender who was taking over came and pushed me out of the way even touching my purse and moving it and took my husbands food without asking and basically kicked us out. Again, the first bartender apologized as we left. Poor guy needs to get a job not working with people who are bringing the place down. I am still in shock and so is my husband.

I am boggled by the negative reviews to this place. The service was fantastic. The prices were reasonable, and the food was awesome. The lobster mac'n'cheese was to die for and the wine recommendation was spot on. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, and our server, Katie, was the sh:t. Great hotel restaurant. According to my hosts (I was on vacation from Chicago--land of good restaurants) this is the best restaurant in Golden.

Absolutely terrible! Not busy, over 1 hour wait for food. Mine came out wrong but had to eat because I was starving and server never came back. Also served with soup and never got a spoon. Fianlly had to get up. Couldn't find one in server station. Finally found someone who got one. Good location, crap food and service.

I really do love restaurant week in Denver. It has been growing in popularity and in the number of restaurants that participate since its inception. I'm sure most Yelpers know the premise, but for the non-inducted among you, the idea is simple: For $52.80 (mile high - 5280 ft - clever, right?) you get a meal for two at some of Denver's nicer restaurants. Brilliantly placed towards the end of February, the slowest time in most every restaurant, it is a chance to go out and try new places for a consistently affordable price. I think it's a great time for risks. You can usually see the menus online, so it takes a little of the guesswork out. I was in the mood for steak, so we decided on the Bridgewater Grill. The Bridgewater Grill is attached to a hotel in the center of historic Golden with a patio that overlooks the Clear Creek. I had brunch there last summer while I was riding my bike and wanted to go back for dinner. What better time than Restaurant Week? The menu let you choose soup or salad, an entree and either an appetizer or dessert. Being more of a meat an potatoes guy, I opted for the app. instead of dessert. Homemade bread to start. Warm, homemade bread. Good start. Vegetable Beef soup... and this ain't no Campbell's. It was really good and had nice chunks of non-fatty steak in the soup. I chose the blackened shrimp appetizer. They were a little.. blah. I think they were a little over seasoned. Its shrimp in Denver, I know, but there is a right way to blacken something that stills leaves the flavor of the source meat intact, and a wrong way... overdo it, and bury it. Before I move on to the FIlet Mignon of Bison, I want to point out that the Bridgewater Grill serves Barmen, a rare treat brewed by the folks at Coors. It is named after the Prussian home town of Adolph Coors. It is unlike any other Coors product I've consumed, and I will be back to Bridgewater for the beer alone. Its really that good. You can only get it on draft, and only in a few select places in the Golden/Denver area. It takes 7 minutes to pour, and is worth every second you wait. So, the fliet... it was accompanied by a Jack Daniels cream sauce that I loved. I know T.G.I.Fridays has whored out Jack Daniels and their sauces, but when made from scratch by a chef with some know-how... it makes a great accompaniment to a good steak. I order the sweet potato fries to go along with it, and instantly wished I hadn't. My wife ordered the bacon and bleu cheese mashed potatoes and they were heavenly. The fries weren't bad, but not a good complement to the rest of the plate. Neither of us chose the dessert, so I have no opinion, but I did order another Barmen. Did I mention that it was ambrosial? We had a good meal here. The service was fair to good. A larger party came in shortly after us and they required a lot of attention, so I don't want to completely blame the server. The ambiance needed a little work. Maybe its because we were so close to the door, but it seemed a little sterile. And when it tried to be warm and cozy it came off a little... cheap. Like a hotel room that tries to make you feel at home with floral patterns and horrible materials. Bridgewater Grill is worth trying, especially if you're hanging out in Golden. I will definitely be back, and not just for the beer.

No worse turn-off than when a waitress unloads her frustrations with her coworkers. Since they've redone the menu at Bridgewater, I haven't found anything I like. The food is way below par and unimaginative. While visiting for brunch recently, two close friends of mine experienced the ultimate in dissastisfaction: the couple at the table next to theirs offered the remainder of their gift certificate to my friends because the couple would never be back. Ouch. Two stars because during the summer, I can grab a seat at the patio bar and enjoy a well-crafted martini. Don't get a mojito, it's really just a glass of heartburn. And the views of Clear Creek and Mount Zion certainly can't be beat.

After a long time I went back, or tried to. My mom and sister were in town and they wanted to try this place. We got there about 6pm and there were very few people there. We were told that there was a wait so we put our names on the list and waited. And waited. Asked the hostess after 15min how much longer it would be. She said we were next. Ten more minutes went by and a group of four people came in and were seated immediately. I asked the hostess if they had a reservation, she said no. We got up and left and I won't be back until I see an under new management sign out front.

I'm rounding cuz it's really two an a half stars! I stayed in the hotel for a week and tryed the restaurant one night. It seemed nice and maybe I went on a bad night but the fish n chips was good except the fries were overdone. My girlfriend had the jerk pasta which was dry. The chicken and toast with it was good though. We took dessert to the room which was a bonus. The mud pie was great. It may be better on a different night. Service was great! Good luck.

This place is just okay... The food is pretty good, but the service is consistently slow and just plain bad -- we've had drink orders completely forgotten, wrong food delivered, sat at the table for fifteen minutes before being noticed -- on multiple visits. Fortunately or unfortunately, their real estate sort of "makes" the experience, so it's your typical bring-the-parents-here place... Don't worry, the food is good and the menu is interesting. Just make sure you have the time to accommodate the slow service (er, enjoy the creek).

Great location and amazing salmon/brie sandwich. Service is slow and the wait staff chats a lot to one another (loudly) at the host stand, which is RIGHT next to several tables. Food and river location/view makes up for it though. If managers read this - do something about chatty wait staff and their service (needs to be faster).

It started off good as the bar service was great. Prompt, courteous and enjoyable. Outdoor setting is very nice. Appetizers were tasty. Unfortunately, dinner service was a different experience!. Service was extremely slow. Took our orders and then......nothing. We finally got some drinks, then salads, but then, again.... nothing. Had to go ask for more water and drinks while we waited for dinner. Finally, dinner was served, still had not received our drinks, and dirty dishes were not cleared. Server brought us the long ago ordered drinks as she was clearing our dinner dishes. We no longer wanted the glass of wine that was to go with dinner. As for the food, it was just OK. The chicken and pork chops were on the dry side, but the veggies were inedible as they were dripping in oil/butter. The burgers were nothing special and had to wait for condiments as ours were empty. Overall, very disappointing. Will not be back and will not recommend.
