Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

My husband and I were two of 7 people in the whole place. Therefore, one would think service should be pretty good since there are not a lot of people to take care. This service was terrible! We went there specifically because we sought out a place to go for a Chinese Buffet. We arrived only a few minutes before the buffet special ended but assumed we would be able to order it since there was an extreme abundance of food still spread across the entire buffet. As we retrieved our plates and headed for the buffet, a server walked up and said we were not allowed to get the buffet. He claimed it was closed. Interesting, because all the lights were still on and, as I mentioned, there was an ample amount of food left. After asking nicely and being told "no" a second time, we sadly walked back to our table. The gentleman who informed us of the buffet closing happened to be our server. Even after watching us sit back down he did not come to our table to begin serving us for at least another ten minutes. When he finally came, we ordered drinks and he immediately walked away without asking if we were ready to order food, which we were. Thinking back, we cannot believe we didn't just walk out. The truth is, we were hungry and didn't want to find another place to go at the moment. From that point on we had to ask for a someone to come to our table or chase someone down across the restaurant every time we needed something, including a napkin, a fork, another drink, more water, and even to finally get the bill. All in all we spent far too much time in a place that made us feel like we didn't exists. The only positive thing I can say about Ming's is the food was not bad. I actually liked my dish even though it was not the buffet option and it took about 40 minutes to get to me once we ordered. Reminder: The place was practically empty. No excuses for how invisible we felt.

Good food, but very disappointed to be charged an automatic gratuity of 21% at the end of the meal. We were a party of 7... as a former waiter, I understand why restaurants sometimes choose to add automatic gratuities for large groups, but 21% seems exorbitant. Also, the menu makes no mention of this 21% charge.

Fast. & the fried rice is the TITS!!!!! got some chicken and veggies everything was good except the wonton soup but it just wasn't my thing flavor wise. Everything was fresh. Not greasy and didn't make my stomach hurt.

The first time I ate here, I ordered food inside the restaurant. It was by far the best chinese I have ever had and my mother agreed with me. However, when I ordered to deliver, I was a little disappointed. The food wasn't bad at all but it wasn't as good as it was the first time. I can only assume that this is typical. I'll still be ordering from Ming's Dynasty. It's not far from my apartment and delivery is free.

This is my go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. Ming's offers consistent, solid Chinese food. Is it the best Chinese food I have ever had? No, but it satisfies my cravings and gets me by. What I love about Ming's is that they are not afraid to deliver the heat. They throw in Chinese peppers when you ask for spicy. They amp it up! The meat is also pretty great quality. Standouts for me: scallion pancakes, cheese fried wontons, orange chicken, sesame beef, deep fried general chicken. Recently had the general chicken and it was the bomb. Great crisp, tender chicken, amazing sauce. Will be difficult not to get this on the reg. If looking for solid Chinese in the Glendale area, look no further than Ming's Dynasty!

This spot has everything Americans see "Chinese food" to be, plus more. You can make everyone happy with their menu, and everything we have ever had from here has been great. The customer service is outstanding and they are always very nice and friendly. Great for take out or dine in.

Very good food. I always get pork fried rice but have tried a lot of their other entrees and have liked them all. A lot of Chinese restaurants around Denver are just awful so I have been going here for years. Although they have messed my silvery order up a couple of times i.e. Forgot my Mongolian beef and have forgotten sweet and sour sauce before but overall it's a good place to go or order from.

Ming's Dynasty, ya, it's OK. I've eaten there many times, taken food to go, and more times than I'd like to admit ordered it delivered. The joke at our house is that they'll show up before you even have a chance to hang up the phone, the delivery is super fast. The food is a bit greasy but the flavors are good. The chef varies so you may get a dish prepared one way on Tuesday and the same dish prepared differently on Saturday. It's always edible and the portions are very generous. You'll certainly have left overs or need a doggy bag. The dining room is kind of neat, they recently remodeled. My favorite part of dining in is you can draw on the white paper table cloth's (bring your colored pencils!) How FUN! The wait staff tries but they really haven't gotten to "good" yet. I'd say if you're craving Chinese and you're in Glendale try it, otherwise go somewhere better. The take out is their best feature, if you're close. The call -in staff doesn't speak English very well and if you make substitutions they probably won't get it right. That's OK, they make up for it in free egg rolls (which almost always arrive, unexpectedly.) They have a full bar for you drinkers. Overall I'd say it's worth the try if you get lost and wind up in tiny little Glendale, what happened?!

Holy Crap, this place is still around??? My Parents WAY back in the day used to take me here rather frequently and all I can remember is this is where I discovered "Moo-Shu-Gai-Pan". If it's still as I remember, the place is still open for a good reason, hence, it kicks ass.

I'm going to have to be straight with you guys and let you know that I'm like, the most insanely boring Chinese food consumer on the entire planet. I literally only get chicken fried rice and egg rolls from Chinese spots I go. Sometimes I venture out to the sesame chicken and some cheese wantons, but obviously that's pretty tame too. I tell you this for a couple of reasons; one, because it means I can't tell you how good any other dishes are than those, and B, because it also means that I can accurately gauge a good Chinese restaurant from a mediocre or bad one, because my experimental control is always constant. Get what I mean? You can't rely on someone telling you a Chinese place is bad because all they had was the "birds nest soup" (Google it) or sea slugs and they thought it was horrible. No, you have to use a base dish that every Chinese spot has and extrapolate from that in your fractal estimation as to what you estimate all the other dishes rank in deliciousness. Follow me? I hope so. If you aren't, what I'm saying is I can tell you whether a Chinese restaurant is good or isn't, and Ming's most certainly IS. I'm pretty fortunate to have Ming's so close to where I live. And even though my proximity is short, I have gotten delivery service from them and it was super speedy and the delivery driver was extra courteous, perhaps because he didn't have to drive more than a minute, but hey, either way, it counts. And it's good to know I have such a tasty delivery spot for when it begins to snow hard in Denver and I don't feel like leaving the house to hunter/gather my meal in my snowshoes. I've also dined inside for dinner, not just ordered to-go or delivery, and the interior decor is very nice, low key, and classy. The service was great each time and the employees were all very courteous, but then again, that's kind of their culture (or they're just really good at pretending their entire lives that they like us western folk), so take that for what it's worth. Oh, and they give you this little Chinese chip and dip thingies (which I'm sure I sound like a real genius calling them that, but whatever) upon seating you. Now, I haven't been to too many Chinese restaurants that offer amuse bouche, so that's was refreshing. And you're welcome for that bit of word power that I just gave to you right there, too. Use it. Feel empowered. In conclusion, I haven't eaten at any other Chinese places here in Denver other than ones in the mall food courts (which I can't seem to help myself from eating when I'm in the mall, and yes, I get the chicken fried rice from them too), so I can't compare it with any other specific spot in the city, but I have eaten plenty of other chicken fried rice at plenty of other Chinese spots elsewhere, so I feel that you can take my Chinese food restaurant reviews as solid. Ming's is about as solid as a redwood, and I'm sure that anything you get will be as delicious as I feel their chicken fried rice is. And I don't believe they offer if, but even so, I still wouldn't necessarily get the birds nest soup, mainly because that just seems icky; did you Google it? Weirdo Chinese people. Kidding. Love you guys. Thanks for putting chicken, and fried, and rice in the same dish.

Stingy and rude. I ordered to go lunch special which doesn't get the soup ....the price stays the same. I asked for extra soy sauce. I got ONE packet and when I asked for more I was just told NO. The food isn't good enough to be chasing the ones willing to order food away.

5 stars for excellent fast food Chinese .. order was perfect. Delivered hot and fast. Just what i wanted!
(5)Margaret C.
Ex in-laws invited me to dinner a few weeks ago. Ex hubby went out and got us a big bag of take-out food from Ming's Dynasty. The curry was good. Chicken curry. That's what my daughter ordered. The egg rolls were good, not too greasy. The sweet and sour chicken was fine, with tender crisp chicken and fresh crisp veggies with nice sweet and sour sauce. The fried rice was fine. It was what one would expect of Chinese Food, hot and fresh and good. There are Chinese restaurants I like better, i.e. China Gourmet in Boulder. But Denver is Denver and Boulder is Boulder and never the twain shall meet.........................

Ming's Dynasty, was my favorite destination while attending college. I have several friends who live in the surrounding area of the restaurant and I lived very close as well. It was some of the best Chinese food I have had in a long time (coming from California). I had the duck, and let me tell you...OMG it was amazing I have also had their buffet, and many other menu items. I go as far as saying it is the best Chinese Restaurant in all of Denver. I unfortunately now live to far away to order, so I had to go with Twin Dragon tonight and there is no comparison. Ming's Dynasty is the best option for Chinse food if you get the chance to eat there, don't mind the mini mall it is located in...it makes it that much better :)

My boyfriend turned me onto this place. Where the whole staff know him and his family. Amazing food. Great service and homey atmosphere. Chicken in foil was soo good never afraid to try something new when everything I have tried is so good.
(5)Amy F.
It's good food. I went there for lunch today and had the shark's fin soup, hot and spicy shrimp, and beef w/snow peas. The soup was very good, my first time having it, and I loved it. The hot and spicy shrimp was very mild, some spice to it, but not what I would have expected. And the beef with snow peas were pretty good, though the beef was a little "slimy" so to speak. But still very good spices in it. Though I was disappointed in my take out experience in part because I read other reviews where they were served either water or tea, and the wanton strips? I never recieved, or offered anything like that. Though I did get the wanton strips with my entrees, so I was pleased with that. The other minor disappointment is that they stop doing delivery at 2pm? Wha'ts up with that? I called yesterday at 2:10 and was told that the delivery guy already left for the day. But overall it's good food, but in a way, it's also like any other asian cuisine. I do have to give a thumbs up to this place as far as menu choices go as there is something for everyone.

I make it to Colorado to see family several times a year and Ming's Dynasty is one of the few restaurants I make a point to visit every time I'm home. I grew up eating many family dinners at the restaurant, from quiet groups of four to several round and square tables pushed together for 15+. The owners are almost always there with a kind word and big smiles, the waitstaff attentive, and the food is among the best Chinese in the metro area. As mentioned several times, the scallion pancakes are delightful, and the Orange Chicken is out-of-this world. I only wish I could return to Denver more often to experience a wonderful night out at this establishment!

STAY AWAY!!! If I could give this place zero stars... I would. I have had far and away the worst experience here that I've ever had at a restaurant, no questions asked. I ordered delivery from ming's tonight I was expecting a delicious Chinese food experience, I was in for quite the surprise. I ordered sesame chicken, lo mein, wontons and hot and sour soup. I received the food at my door in a timely manner, no problems... Yet. It was when I dished up my meal that the problems began. Eating the hot and sour soup the flavor of fish broth overwhelmed what is a usually tasty soup. Then dished up lo mein which was sticky, cold and unappetizing. On to the sesame chicken, hoping for better luck, it was mushy, cold, and gross. Ugh... Here we go wontons... Pull through! Nope. Uncooked, cold, gross. Ok-- I guess I'll call and ask what they can do to remedy my terrible dinner. HA! The first woman I talked to offered me a free order of wontons. A free order of wontons for my botched $40 dinner?! So, I kindly asked to speak to the owner, in an attempt to have maybe my next dinner on the house. Instead he YELLED AT ME! Telling me that he put out 80 orders of sesame chicken today and not one complaint. Well sir- can you really tell me all the orders of sesame chicken were identical? I don't think so... He continued on and on never allowing me to speak before he interrupted me. I asked him if he could please let me speak. Finally he told me, before he hung up on me, that if I brought my food back in he would refund my money. To which I'm pretty sure he thought I would never do. Well, I loaded up my terrible dinner took it back to the restaurant. Upon arrival, I was approached by the manager who apologized for my bad dinner and looked for my receipt. At which time the owner surfaced from the back room telling me I had eaten some of the dinner and shouldn't get the refund... Well sir, I HAD to eat the dinner to know it was TERRIBLE. He continued to verbally attack me in the entrance of his restaurant telling me I was a dumb young American and if I had been in an American restaurant I wouldn't have sent my food back. I said nearly no words to him to which he told me he should call the police on me... The manager kept telling him to "go away Bill", she kept rolling her eyes at him(poor woman), he continued on at me verbally attacking, etc. I told him if he didn't back off I would call the police on him. The manager apologized a countless number of times. He told me he never wanted to do business with me. I said, "good, me neither." STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

The food is great and the service is amazing!

This place is so very tasty. You should eat there if you like Chinese food.
(5)Kendra R.
Savory beef and broccoli that wasn't chewy. Egg rolls that do not taste of the grease in which they were prepared. Miller Lite available in it's bottle form. Great place for a date night before catching a flick. I'm very choosy about where I eat Chinese. Being subjected to bad Chinese take out as I grew up in a suburb in the Midwest, I no longer feel the need to subject my body nor tongue to such filth. This place I would gladly revisit when I'm in the area. I would choose this over PF Chang's. Then again I really do not like PF Chang's.
(4)LA M.
Super yummy. They just remodeled so its nicer inside. Staff is friendly. Prices are a little high so it's a once in a few months kinda trip.
(4)Annie B.
I used to be fortunate enough to live within Ming's small delivery area. I had been eating food from Ming's on a regular basis 3 1/2 years. I was rarely disappointed and I miss living in their delivery area. The cheese wontons, scallion beef, curry chicken, pork fried rice, sesame beef & slippery chicken are some of my favorites. Always rich in flavor and always a treat. This isn't your average delivery Chinese, I highly recommend ordering out, or dining in at their beautiful restaurant. I intend on driving back over there at some point! I miss it!
(4)Samantha F.
"YUMMY!" That's what I think when I hear "Ming's Dynasty". They have GREAt Singapore style Chinese Food. Oh, it's so good. I've only done the pick-up and the delivery thing. I can't believe how fast they are. I know that I only live like 3 or 4 blocks away but I order over the phone hand up, then I hear a *Whoooosh*-- *Knock, knock* -- How do they do that!? I always tip the guy $5 and he always smiles and leaves in a flash. My food is always hot, fresh and tasty, tasty! I always order too much but my staples are the pork lo mein, the coconut shrimp and the chicken fried rice. I sometimes like to order the veggie fried rice with the awesome bbq pork that they make. I also am a big fan of their orange flavored chicken. I have never gotten my order and been disappointed. It always comes in a clean and neat paper bag that's stapled up and they always include the steamed white rice, egg rolls and fortune cookies. The girl that takes my order is always sweet and nice. When I got for pick-up or take-out, they're courteous and fast as well but if she's on her cellphone and not really paying attention to me as I wait to give her my order, I get a little annoyed but that's because I'm impatient. Yeah, I love that place and from what I hear, I'd probably love the lunch buffet too. Except, I'm never home around lunch time!
(5)Sophia Y.
realize I am asian-am from San francisco. so I am used to good food I was told by they front desk that this is THE best Chinese in Denver. and from the reviews, I thought perhaps it is very pretty. but the deco a little japanese with shoji sliding doors. very attentive service got the mango chicken (that was like tomato and mango flavored chicken) YUCK! the mango was ruined and the flavor just wrong wrong wong got the baby bok choi and beef as recommended by the waitress. that was GOOD!! really good!! the only dish I would recommend got the egg drop soup, was some crazy yellow color chow fun was like covered in a deep brown color. smoky flavor, I liked it. but I am not a chow fun fan - too much oil in all chow fun not just the one here got the basil chicken, but it was more like black bean chicken with some basil sprinkled in. no basil flavor at all. the rice was good. the fortune cookies were even bad... or not normal.
(2)Modchen M.
minus one star for the one-step-up-from-mall-chinese food. the 'fried' rice is cheap instant rice tossed in grease, with no additives. the noodles are clumpy and a little more than al-dente. the meat is mysterious. the food is relatively flavorless overall and of low quality. minus one star for my delivery taking more than an hour when i'm located three minutes away. minus one star for delivering me the wrong food, cold, after waiting an hour for it. minus one star for the crappy attitude i received overall about it. "well, we're busy: you'll just have to wait." what? i've been waiting for an hour already. why don't you hire another delivery guy if you're that busy? oh, wait. THAT'S right. you guys are cheap.
(1)paul c.
sad to say it, but i have to lower ming's back down to a 3 now that i've discovered tao tao noodle house in aurora. ming's is okay if you need carryout (tao tao doesn't deliver) but i just can't see going anywhere else now that tao tao is in my life.
(3)John J.
I went into Ming's for lunch today and I can honestly say, without a doubt, that this meal is easily among the top 5 worst meals that I have ever had. I will not be back. The service staff there is really quite friendly. They are so nice that it makes it difficult for me to write this, but their food is just plain awful. I have to admit that I have a guilty obsession with American Chinese food that I have to satisfy. Dim sum and authentic Vietnamese in Denver are amazing and among the best I have ever had (Never had it straight from the country of origin though...). Unfortunately I have been having issues finding good American Chinese since moving to Denver. I have been to Ming's 3 times now. While the first time was decent, the second was simply passable, and the third could best be described as a food abomination. When going to a buffet, I try to keep my expectations of a buffet in line with what they are- not the absolute best, but a good idea of the offerings of the restaurant. What Ming's had on offer was hopefully not a good idea of their traditional menu. Everything that they had on the buffet had been sitting for at least an hour or two. The overall look of the food made me wonder if the buffet was reset with the items from the evening before because it cartainly tasted that way. I was hungry and I only took a few bites before packing it up and heading out. I can handle one or two things on a buffet being not so great, it happens, and when it does I just move onto something else. Everything on the buffet was disgusting and it looked rough too. My issue comes in it was easy to see that the quality of the items was very very low. The staff that day saw how low it was, but even seeing that, they continued to serve it. If their standards are that low then my mind immediately begins to wonder what "exceptions" they are willing to make in the kitchen. I hate to be so tough on everything as I try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but I am through with Ming's for good. I wound up paying out and leaving to go somewhere else for a proper meal. I would suggest that others choose to do the same- look for good food elsewhere.
(1)Allison L.
I was amazed by their good Chinese food out in Colorado ....didn't expect it at all.... Honestly, I was "forced" to have Chinese food that day ... and this place is just right across the street from my b-f's office.... so we walked in... Beef Chow Fun and Pork Fried rice were authentic.... not American style at all!!! The Beef Chow Fun tasted exactly what you can get in HongKong! Dumplings were home-made.... you could tell by the veggie inside.... very fresh.... Very impressed!!! Most important ... bathroom was clean!!! lol
(5)Stephen D.
Very disappointing. I've seen MD before while waiting for my car to be serviced but have never tried it before last night. The manager or owner wanted to seat us at a small table for 2 with almost the entire dining room open. Next the Beef with Broccoli was almost 90% broccoli and seemingly10% beef.Only so-so in taste. With 2 entrees a beer and Coke with tax and tip, $40.... I'll pass!
(1)Katy A.
I ordered the triple Kung pao, hot n sour soup, and spring rolls , all super delicious and such good service! See pic ( the portions were huge!) seriously worth every penny!
(5)Sammy S.
I am about to order delivery from them, for the second time in a week, so that says something. Their service is fast, and the portions are large. The taste isn't bad either. I wouldn't say its exponentially better than what someone would expect from a Chinese restaurant, but its yummy never-the-less.
(4)Maz M.
Favorite Chinese food in Denver! Love the sesame chicken and their egg drop soup is well made. Also the kung pao chicken is great! Delivery can sometimes be slow, but the driver is always super nice. They screwed my order up before and sent him back with the correct order and free egg rolls. Love Mings
(4)Jordan B.
I've eaten here a couple of times and it's wonderful! The food is tasty and service is excellent. Plus you can order online and pick up your food or have it delivered. I wish they had more locations as I'm not in this area often.
(5)jennifer C.
The food was amazing. The drinks were amazing. The best shrimp toast. The service was great. My new favorite Chinese restaurant!!!!
(5)David T.
Just a quick update because I order delivery Asian on average of about once a week - lazy in the kitchen these days - and, Ming's is the best I've found. Love the shrimp toast and the Thai basil tofu but have yet to be disappointed with anything I've ordered. The real reason for this update is because I love the fact that they use Delivery.com on their Yelp website page. So easy to use. The delivery website stores your info so all you have to do is check off the items you want on the menu, they place your order with the restaurant, calculate your check (including tip if you want to include it), charge it to the credit card you have on file and "voila" your food shows up at your door (they have your address stored, too) half an hour later or so - no muss, no fuss. You can even check the status of your order on-line if it seems like it's taking too long. All this without ever having to struggle with explaining your order to someone without a real command of English. Easy - peasy.
(4)Nic Z.
We ordered take-out for dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. We had two orders of Kung Pao Chicken - one fully-prepared and the other with steamed chicken and sauce on the side, and they were great. My only gripe was that the steamed order didn't have the veggies with the chicken or in the sauce, so it wasn't really Kung Pao, just Kung.. or maybe Pao. I may have taken a Chinese Civilizations class, but I certainly do not speak Mandarin. I digress. Food was good, and one order lasts several meals. I'd visit le Ming again.
(4)Curtis G.
I went here the other day craving some Chinese. It was a buffet. Everything was bland and filled with MSG. Not my favorite Asian restaurant in Colorado. The buffett was quick and easy, but paid the price later with all the MSG.
(2)John A.
I used to love this place, working in the service industry consistency is heaven sent. This place used to be the bees knees, now? Well now it's a shadow of it's former self, I've lived in this neighborhood going on 5 years now when I first moved here everything I ordered was great. Now it's a shadow of it's former self, what used to be hot, flavorful, well spiced, and seemingly fresh tastes like they went into a bachelor's fridge and sold me his leftovers. I honestly wish I knew this area better, after trying a couple other places I'm scared to go any further on my quest for good Chinese... I guess I must go the pizza route...
(1)Luke V.
The worst food i have ever eaten in my life, first & last time i will ever eat here. All the food sucks & the aftertaste tastes of mop water. The only worthwhile part of this whole terrible experience was our waiter, great personality, very attentive, he should be in a nice resturant.
(1)J J.
Service was delightful, food was delicious! Read some of the previous reviews and was leary but I'm glad we came. very happy with everything!
(5)Ron B.
I usually don't care for buffets, but theirs is fresh and complete. Nice selection and delicious at a fair price.
(5)Meghan B.
The food was delicious, not a doubt about that. However service on the other hand could use some major improvement. We sat down after waiting about 15 or so minutes, which was fine. We were served water right away, however we requested straws for the water that took over a half hour to show up. After that, we requested a water refill that took about a half hour. When appetizers were served we had request a knife that didn't show up until the meals were served so needless to say fingers were used for the appetizers. I understand the language barrier but when getting served refills on our water that took 30 minutes, it was then spilt by the waitress all over my boss's foot. Definitely not the best experience! Possibly consider take out next time, rather than the dine in experience!
(2)Heather H.
Work nearby & this is a great place to go for their lunch buffet. Egg drop soup is yummy, lots to choose from on buffet. Good service & a quiet place to chat while enjoying good food!
(4)Dave G.
I don't know what happened to this place, but it has slipped. We went for dinner on the Chinese New Year and granted, they were busy. However, the service was extremely poor and the food was mediocre. It was not worth the price we paid. I won't be back.
(1)Keith F.
The Sesame chicken was outstanding and the shrimp in lobster sauce was awesome you could really taste the lobster. The Moo Sho Beef was extremely flavorful. Service was excellent and no wait after 8:00 pm. The wonton were delicious highly recommend the sesame chicken, top 3 dish from any Chinese restaurant I've ever had.
(5)Michelle A.
This is the best Chinese place in my area, I've been there for both the lunch buffet and the dinner service. I have to say I prefer the food at dinner. The buffet is tasty and reasonably priced , but it's a buffet and because of the format the food simply loses something sitting out.
(4)Kayla K.
Basically this is my go-to delivery Chinese place. I don't branch out with what I like, but I can tell you that the sesame chicken and chicken lo mein are the best. The lo mein is not greasy and they don't use giant thick noodles. It fedienlty has a great taste and isn't bland like some of the other places I've tried. I've only had one iffy delivery where my good was just warm, but every other time it always comes nice and fresh. Definitely my favorite.

Great Chinese spot. I've never had the lunch buffet (wish I could have), but had dinner many times - dine in and take out. They have a little patio out front and were very welcoming when we brought out dog. The food is solid - never had a dish I didn't like. Only complaint I can make is the beer is fairly pricey, but that never prevented me from dining here. Moved from NYC where great Chinese is easy to come by. For Denver/Colorado, this is best Chinese I've had. Definitely recommended.
(5)Javier C.
Great Chinese food, very tasty and very well prepared. Price really good. However they would need to improve the restaurant environment, the carpet seems quite old, some chairs as well. Food, service and price excellent but the mentioned improvements are necessary for a full 4* or maybe 5*.
(4)J M.
The service here is horrible. I know Chinese restaurants aren't known for their quality service but come on...this was just awful. The food was good but I really have no desire to come back here. There are other Chinese restaurants in Denver.
(2)Chet M.
Great lunch buffet. I would recommend the lunch buffet.

As I said in my tip: Ming's now has a happy hour from 3-8. $.50 all bottled beers with entree purchase! And that's definitely worth repeating. Ming's is great and I'm really surprised I haven't written a review of this place sooner. During the week, they also do a lunchtime buffet for all y'all all-you-can-eat (or as we called it in the south: AYCE) types. If I remember correctly, it runs $13 or so. Dinner entrees run $10-14 for almost everything. That may seem pricey, but they give you so much food, I have enough leftovers (and Chinese is one of the few foods I'll eat leftovers of) for 2-3 meals after I have my dinner. Doing the math, I can have a couple happy hour beers and food for 2-3 days for $11-15 - not a bad deal at all in my book. I've never had a bad entree here although I am partial to their Drunken Noodles and General Tsao's Chicken. They also have my absolutely 100% favorite Hot and Sour soup.
(4)Christie D.
I absolutely LOVE Ming's Dynasty. It isn't some fancy shmancy Chinese delicacy or hipster ramen place, it's good, old fashioned, greasy, flavorful, tasty Chinese food. The lunch buffet is an especially great deal. For only about $10 you get roughly 30 choices including a full salad bar (why would I eat salad though??) and two soups- egg flower and hot & sour, followed by a complete schmorgesborg of fried options like egg rolls and cream cheese wontons, then the fab fried rice and chow mein, and all the yummy staples like orange chicken, broccoli beef, Kung pao chicken.... I should have eaten before writing this. See you tomorrow, Mings!
(5)Bethany R.
Ordered delivery. The food showed up hot which was great. Had fried dumplings, crab rangoon, chicken fried rice and orange chicken. Everything was okay - but nothing really stood out. Will probably try other places before I reorder.

My friend and I were looking for a place close to him to grab dinner Well I looked up all you can eat Chinese places on here saw the reviews for this place. I was impressed with what I read and thought Id give it shot. However at first it was a little disappointing when I got there to find out they DO NOT have a dinner buffet even though when I had called earlier someone answered and said they had a dinner buffet but it didn't start till after 3 so must have been a misunderstanding. So even though we didn't have the buffet we decided to stay and order off the menu which was fine. The service was exceptional very friendly and helpful. I ordered the hot and sour soup which was really good. Next I ordered the drunken noodles and to my delight the food portions were very large I had to get a to go box and the food was VERY good! so I left there feeling full and satisfied so I guess I didn't need the all you can eat Buffet after all, would like to try the lunch buffet next time I'm in the area.
(4)Margaret S.
In Glendale looking for a chinese lunch spot, Google did the trick. Within a block of Colorado Blvd going east on Mississippi, it's easy to find & lots of parking. 3 of us enjoyed the Lunch Buffet. Nice decor, we enjoyed the hot & sour soup, with the usual appetizer items including peel & eat shrimp. The variety of buffet selections I thought was great - just needed a taste of a lot of items - I like but never order - because there are items I like better! I'd have given them 5 stars & a bigger tip except the waiter threw down our pot of hot tea & cups onto the table, then I pulled a dirty plate (dried rice on the bottom) from the que. Bottom Line, yes - I'd go there again.
(4)Aimee H.
Felt the need to update after a couple of years in Denver. The delivery is as fast as ever, but the quality has gone down and become inconsistent at best. Disappointing! Looking for another go-to and hard-pressed to find one near enough for delivery!
(2)Thomas M.
I decided to give this place a try, and ordered takeout using the online ordering system. I got the Drunken Noodles, Wonton Soup, and egg rolls. The noodles were really tasty and the portion size was huge! You could definitely split the entree between two or three people. The soup was also good, especially the broth, but probably only big enough for one (but you can't beat the price at 2.50!). I only knock off one star because the Drunken Noodles were a little pricy, but overall the food was very good!
(4)Catherin C.
Their food is decent, not too bad, not too good, just okay. The problem is everytime me and my husband go at lunch time for the buffet, we always get the same stupid waiter, who, excuse my language, but he is an asshole, he will straight up come to our table, serve water and leave until we are done eating, no asking if we need anything else, nothing, he just leaves and forgets about us. Last time we came with two other friends he was just weird, he didnt refill our waters, we had to ask if he could do it, which im pretty sure his job, i mean hes a waiter, what else is he supposed to be doing a restaurant other than serving? he noticed we werent happy and straight up was staring at us, while we were eating, I guess he noticed we were gonna leave a shitty tip and that made him mad or idk, I really have no idea, but it was creepy he was staring at us while we were finishing up eating, at the end, we decided to leave, this was just too awkard. We tipped him like 2 dollars, he didnt deserve anything, in my humble opinion. Now I dont know if I even wanna come back to this place because this guy is a creeper, I dont know what his problem is.

As others have mentioned, Ming's Dynasty offers a solid choice when it comes to Chinese food. The menu is extensive, the prices are fair, the atmosphere is pleasant, portions are generous, staff is friendly, and the food tastes great. I enjoy spicy Chinese food and often order General Tso's chicken and vegetable lo mein. Other dishes like sesame beef and kung pao beef are also great choices. For appetizers, I usually stick with the steamed dumplings and/or soups, which are very tasty. Overall, I think you will be quite pleased with Ming's if you are in the Glendale area and are looking for a good lunch or dinner.
(4)Mike S.
Good quick service, excellent combo fried rice, generous portions. Chicken lo mein was good, fresh sprouts with good snap. Egg rolls were quite the disappointment, almost tasted like they had kimchi in them, very sour, and not in a palatable fashion. Maybe just a bad batch.
(4)Christine V.
Very pleasantly surprised! Just moved to the neighborhood and decided to try Ming's for takeout. The food was really good, ready very quickly, and my order was correct. I'll definitely be going back!
(5)Jess B.
Ordered Beef w Garlic sauce. It was wonderful flavor and was nice and hot. We Loved their brown rice. Daughter enjoyed their sweet and Sour Chicken. Had their Cheese Wontons too. A lot of flavor compared to some places that have such bland food.
(4)Stacy B.
We wandered in here not expecting too much. It was great! Very fresh, even at 9pm. They closed at 10pm so it felt a bit rushed by our server, although I might be a little more sensitive being a server myself. All in all, we were all very pleased.
(4)Kylie G.
Had high expectations per reviews, however I was disappointed. Cheese Wontons were under stuffed and over cooked with very little flavor. Similar to the 2 dollar cheese wontons from Panda Express. General chicken was good, the fried rice was bland. The hot and sour soup was very good. But overall, very very overpriced. Spend half a much at you standard Chinese restaurant for comparable tasting food. If it was cheaper is give it higher rating. Simply doesn't meet the hype or the price level.
(2)Courtney B.
We came in for the $8.95 lunch buffet special and coming from Vegas, I was pleasantly surprised. The item s offered were delicious, even though the selection is mall. the service was incredibly friendly and good. Just stay away from the desserts....
(4)Brooke P.
I think this place is really great. I love the lunch buffet. The people that work here are SUPER friendly and we always enjoy ourselves.
(4)Julio T.
Ming's Dynasty just does some really solid Chinese food. I had some amazing moo shoo duck here with delicious tender meat and the perfect moo shoo sauce. Also a big fan of the kung pao shrimp and the beef and broccoli. Everything was delicious and served in huge portions. We had eight people and ordered only five dishes and had plenty for everyone. The service is also really great here. I went with a somewhat rowdy group of med students and they were nothing but patient and nice with us. They had no problem with us staying a bit after the restaurant closed and just handled our large group with aplomb. So let's play a game of Chinese whispers where I'll tell you how great this place is and you come here and are so impressed that you tell someone else and so on...until Ming's Dynasty gets the recognition that it deserves.
(5)Mar S.
I love this place. Haven't had anything here I didn't like. I tried the ginger beef and it was amazing! My husband and I had to fight each other for the leftovers.
(5)Joe Y.
Lunch buffet is $9 (Mon-Fri) good place to fill up and not eat for the rest of the day (Sun $10). Ming is the typical Americanized Chinese take out place. Go to Hiro Buffet (Used to be LD buffet) if you want more menu options.
(3)Steve R.
Ok first of all whoever wrote "this is the best chinese food you will find in Denver" probably a) had dead taste buds and b) may actually be correct. Arrived at 11:30 (the start of the lunch buffet) - not too busy. Honestly, the food was meh at best. Lots of fried things and none of it was identified with labels. The "cocktail" sauce for the peel and eat shrimp looked brown instead of red so I decided to pass. Food was warm to hot-ish. Servers were short but not overly unpleasant. Sesame chicken had BONES in it? Restaurant was decently clean inside. Tables were bussed relatively quickly. Honestly the food here was a 1. The atmosphere and the staff eek it out to a 1.75 - Yelps' rounding makes it a 2. I have had much better food over in Westminster at Li's. The food here was so mediocre that after spending $11 on lunch (with tax) I actually decided to stop by the McDonald's drive thru and get a box of McNuggets and a shake so I could say I actually ate lunch. I won't be coming back. I did have to laugh that this seems to be the favorite of seniors and fatties. One large woman came in and demanded to have the table closest to the buffet. Lunch buffet is $8.95 + $2 soft drink and tax = $11.15-ish. Kinda hard to find unless you are really looking for it.
(2)Cody R.
This place has great Chinese food and a great atmosphere. I've had plenty of Chinese food all across the country and this is right up there in the number one spot. I had the sesame chicken dinner. This is one of those places where everything is made from scratch. No deep fried frozen chicken here. Great place
(5)Nathan G.
Ho hum. I had lunch here. I am not a buffet fan but they have a nice spread. I also avoid mass carbs and sugar so that eliminates most of their dishes for me. The food is ok, the place is ok. Overall it is clean and the staff is attentive and friendly but I just do not need to eat food by the snow shovel scoop.
(3)Colleen C.
Food is not good. Ordered an online delivery order and the site said it would be 45-60 mins. I called to say if it as going to be that long I would come and get it. They assured me it wouldn't be. Called at 30 mins and they said driver left. Called back at 45 mins and cancelled ordered. I've had the lemon chicken before and it was just meh.
(1)Jack H.
Love this place. Excellent service when you go in for dining or take-out and incredibly quick delivery. They told me it would be ~45 mins for my food to be delivered. More like 10 mins. So very satisfied!!
(5)Terry H.
Great Chinese food. Lo mein, orange chicken, and sweet sour pork are my go-to choices. Awesome place.
(5)Sean A.
I used to love this place! I brought my girlfriend here for lunch and the food is very average. The worst part was the owner who stood at a table the entire time we had dinner just talking to an older couple. That wouldn't be so annoying if she wasn't so loud. You could literally hear her entire conversation from any part of the restaurant. I left with a headache and an unsatisfied stomach. She should just stay home, she would Be much more useful there. What a pathetic excuse for a restaurant. I would have been more happy with fast food.
(1)N. Danny S.
The best chinese food you will find, period. Every time I'm in CO, you will find me here. Really, everything here is good. I have not had a dish I disliked. I usually start off with the cheese wontons, and some hot & sour soup, both of which will get your taste buds tingling for the entrees that await. By far, the best thing is the sesame chicken. Slightly sweet, light crunch and totally delicious. All of the other entrees I've had are equally tasty, which include kung pao/sweet & sour/walnut shrimp, pork with garlic sauce, black pepper steak, slippery chicken, moo shu beef wraps, and I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. The point is, anything you order will be good. Theres also a full bar to wet your whistle should you so desire. As if the savory dishes weren't reason enough to come here, the owners are always pleasant company. This is a mom and pop restaurant, so you'll always find the Wong's here who are never shy and always happy to talk to their customers. The great food and the welcoming family atmosphere make this my favorite place to eat in Colorado!
(5)Justin A.
The only reason why Ming's gets a 4 star versus a 3 star is that I didn't leave the restaurant smelling like my clothes were deep fried like the food. This is a very good thing in my opinion. First impression....I hope this food is better then the cheesy 70's decor. As far as food, the Wonton soup is Great. Not too salty and the broth was also good. The Orange Chicken was good, but not my favorite . Chicken Lo Mein was good as well, not too greasy. This place is also good because the portions are large and you will have more to bring home.
(4)Dan S.
When my cousin suggested we try this spot for a big group (16 of us), I kind of though she was a little crazy. Neighborhood is unimpressive and the strip mall its located in isn't that great. But you know what? This was some of the better Chinese food I've had in a while. The hot & sour soup (my measuring stick) was just the right blend of pepper and vinegary bitterness. Excellent. Appetizers were a big hit (including the shrimp toast which everyone enjoyed) and a pineapple duck dish as well. We really didn't have any clunkers and service was prompt without being overly so. They did a nice job and the dining room was packed on a Sunday night. Would definitely recommend to those in the area.
(4)John E.
for a quick quality chinese buffet this is a good place to eat. price was around $9 and service was good. great for lunch if you work close by. bathrooms were nice and clean
(5)Tabi H.
My husband and I have a great love for general chicken, so it was obvious our first meal should be at Ming's since it was across the street from our hotel (Loews). We were not disappointed! The general chicken was wonderful! I ordered mine mild and my Husby ordered his extra spicy and we both left extremely satisfied with leftovers in hand. The serving size was generous and they even box up your leftovers for you. We also has crab rangoons and they were very good but not the best I have ever had. I read in previous views that they had a buffet and did not see one while we were there. I was thankful that this was not a buffet because I'm not a fan of sneeze guard presentations of food! I have absolutely no complaints!
(5)Lynne P.
After driving by Ming's 2+ times daily for almost a year and a half, I finally stopped in to pick up some take out for dinner. This restaurant looks non-descript from the outside - it's in a strip of building and looks very similar to it's surroundings - dated. I wasn't sure what to expect when we walked in. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very nice, upkept interrior! We were greeted by the very friendly staff - they took our order, offered water while we waited, chatted with us. We were in on a Saturday evening, around 8ish and the restaurant was very busy. Our take out has probably one of the best chinese take out meals I've had - not only was it a lot of food (yay leftovers!!) but it was so tasty! Portions are probably big enough to split between 2 people or for 1 person to have 2 meals. The food really is good re-heated too! Knowing how great this place is and that it's within walking distance from my apartment is dangerous for my wallet and my waistline... but so worth it!
(4)Marnie S.
It used to be one of my all-time Denver favorites, but after new ownership a lot has changed, and after a recent visit, I will never return. Although the dining room was 95% empty, we were seated at a tiny table for two. My husband proceeded to a booth, and the hostess became very upset. The previous Chinese waitstaff were attentive and pleasant. The two male waiters (not Chinese) spent their time talking to one another while sitting in a booth. We were never approached by the waiter to ask if there was anything we needed. We had to waive at one of them to get our check. There was only one other occupied table. The buffet food was average. Sitting in an almost empty restaurant with no service was a very unpleasant experience.
(1)Dan C.
Parking is okay, in a small strip mall. Street isn't too busy to get into and out. Appearance: Outside is okay doesn't look fancy. Inside its pretty clean and kept classy. Food: Very small selection. Its a buffet but for about less then 20 items. No ice cream. Minimal dessert selection. But the food was good and not cold. Presentation was good. Did not sit well with my stomach afterwards though dont know if they are putting something in with the food as I was getting full pretty quickly. Price: On the expensive side. About $15 per person for lunch with drink. Waiters are the worst part of the experience. Before I was even done with my first plate I had the check already. They don't have much space so I'm assuming this tries to coax customers in paying early and leaving early. After 2 refills it was hard to flag down one of the waiters to get more refills.
(2)Alex M.
This place is a pretty solid chinese restaurant if you live in cherry creek/glendale. The food is decent and the prices are pretty reasonable. My favorite dishes to order are the Seasame Chicken, Chicken Friend Rice, and Scallion Pancakes!
(4)Bethanne B.
Definitely a fan. Yummy food and decent service. They are a little expensive, but the ingredients are better quality than most chinese restaurants. Absolutely recommend.
(4)Erika M.
OK, I went in to order take out and while we perused the menu we were served jasmine tea and wanton crisps with sweet and sour sauce. The portion sizes are generous and the quality is great. I enjoyed the scallion pancakes (though not quite that of NY dim sum places), and the Mongolian beef was awesome. If dining in the restaurant was recently redone, and they have booze!!! I love a place where I can have a cocktail with my meal (I am the mother of twins after all) Overall a good find and my new chinese go to place here in Denver.
(3)Jeanette H.
Huge servings and was at my door 20 minutes after ordering! Had mild general tao chicken and egg rolls both were very good and chicken came with rice included.
(5)Wanda C.
I used to live in Glendale and this was my favorite go-to place. Then I moved away and moved close to Glendale. By far, still the best Chinese I've tried here. I've even taken out of town friends and they were in agreement. They make a dish, Wonderful Chicken, that I have never had prior to coming to Ming's, nor anywhere else. Great service and the owners are always around to check on you. Even for takeout, they offer something to drink while waiting. I cannot recommend this place enough. What are you waiting for? Go now.
(5)Stefan R.
Overall I had a good experience with Ming's Dynasty. I live just a few blocks from the this place and decided to try my luck. The customer service was excellent, the people are so friendly at this place. The food was good as well. Tasted nice and fresh with a good selection. Don't expect San Francisco quality Chinese or anything but if you want a decent meal this place works. Great seating as well.
(4)Clare O.
Love this place!!!
(5)Sandi Y.
This has to be hands down the worst Chinese food buffet I've ever had. I ordered a hot tea which came complete with tea leaves floating in my cup. The Choices were very limited and unappetizing. Upon choosing the slim selections it was apparent from the first bite that there would not be a return trip to the buffet. I think the only safe item was the fresh fruit on the salad bar. The staff however were very friendly. needles to say I will not be returning.
(1)Kelly W.
Scallion pancake to die for!! Service is great! Food is always good. Fast service as well. Homemade hot mustard. Love!
(5)Adam A.
One of the best Chinese restaurants on the state. The Kung pao chicken is awesome and I always have to order some hot and sour soup. Each dinner entree is enough for two people. If you want damn good Chinese food you just found the spot
(5)Robin M.
My rating keeps going up as I write. Thanks once again to my fellow Yelpers, I knew the venerable Ming's Dynsasty offers two of my favorites, hard-to-find scallion pancakes and old-school shrimp toast. I ordered those plus crispy duck -- which after discussions with the very kind waitress/hostess, turned into an order for Hong Kong duck instead -- and combination lo mein, for which I had high hopes. (Long ago we had a favorite restaurant which made the greatest lo mein before it burned down; no lo mein since has come close.) I ordered all this to go and was offered water or tea while I waited. Earlier I had turned down water, but hot tea sounded just perfect for my scratchy throat and might help stave off a cold. The tea was excellent, as was the chat with the waitresses and fellow patrons. It was an extremely pleasant wait. Then the drive home in a car that kept smelling better and better. Ah, anticipation. The duck was very tasty, and the lo mein as well -- not quite as good as my memories but the next best thing to it, and the best I've had in a long long while. The appetizers pushed it over the top. The order of scallion pancakes was about three times more than I am accustomed to, the shrimp toast looked like a double order at least, and they had thrown in a free order of egg rolls. Wow. I was aiming to have leftovers of everything, but this is amazing. Unfortunately, shrimp toast doesn't stay crispy on a ride across town. I figure when I warm up the leftovers in the toaster oven, they will crispen up again. I'd eat the scallion pancakes hot or cold, they are that good. Mmmmm. I cannot speak for the rest of the menu, but I was very well pleased with what I ordered. Even though the restaurant is way across town for me, I look forward to returning.
(5)Jacky C.
The Best Chinese Food in Denver.
(5)Shawn W.
Been eating here for over thirty years. Lisa is the sweetest. Egg drop soup is the best I have had anywhere. I am also fond of the shrimp lo mein and shrimp with lobster sauce.
(5)Tony S.
I ate at this place in 2012 and I wasn't happy but this last visit I had I was impressed. The food was tasty and fresh and service was good
(4)Stephanie B.
Despite the fact that Mings is just a few blocks from our house, we drove by for years without trying it because the exterior seemed unpromising, strip-mall Chinese. However, one day on a whim we stopped in, and were pleasantly surprised. Inside, Ming's is like the fancy Chinese restaurants of long-ago -- dramatic decor and all of the classics from "Chinese for white people" menus. Customers seemed to be mostly large family groups of non-Chinese enjoying the lazy-susan style meal. Our meal was fine, and the service was very solicitous. Our server accidentally brought us meat instead of vegetarian pot stickers, and was so apologetic when we pointed out the mistake. They were also very helpful in catering to the needs of our 2-year-old. I'd definitely go back to Mings for take-out or with a group; my husband and I prefer to go to more authentic Chinese food-for-Chinese-people restaurants when we can.
(3)cindy b.
This is our takeout place but we mostly go to another place. The last time we had takeout ,the hot and sour was the best, and the other really great dish was squid with ginger--fantastic! My family loves the scallion pancakes. One person thought the tofu with black mushrooms was heavy on the garlic. This week, I went in here with a friend at 8 pm on a Sunday; we'd planned to do tea but that place closed early on Sunday (what else?). So I had tea and watched her order and eat a big bowl of steamed vegetables and tofu, with the sauce ("white sauce" according to the waiter) on the side. The place is gorgeous inside, white table clothes and nice decor. i always think I should come here more often. Her vegetables were gorgeous, and just crisp the way they should be, and it was a huge quantity. She took some home. The tea was average. I like their food, but compared to other places I would give it a 3. The noon buffet is a fair deal if you like that sort of thing. The food is comparable to dishes prepared here except, of course, it's on a buffet table. I add a half star for the wonderful atmosphere and the very friendly staff if you remember to go.
(3)Paul B.
Food is tasteless. No matter what dishes you order everything tastes the same. Avoid. FAIL.
(1)Dana R.
This is my family "event" spot - birthday parties, holiday or just to get together - all mean a delicious celebration at Ming's. There is consistently attentive service, with the owners circling to ask how the food is (which is always very good). Really, the thing I love the most, and am slightly ashamed to admit, is the lazy susan kindly placed on the larger tables. This ingenious contraption allows us to fill our plates expeditiously to maximize gorge time while keeping body movement at a minimum. Pure delight. Some of my favorite items, you wonder? For apps, it's for sure the scallion pancakes and for $4 you get a ton. While I was never into scallions, these have a slight flavor and jazz up the dough. For my entree, I love the mango chicken and the moo shoo (just tried with shrimp and really liked the combo of the ingredients with the pop of the shrimp). I just wish they didn't serve the moo shoo already pancaked because the sauce makes the wrap flimsy AND I like to combine the ingredients myself... Regardless, I don't really think you can go wrong here!

So I'm fairly new to Denver, and wanted to find a good chinese buffet close to my home. after reading on yelp, it seemed as though the good people of denver were pointing ming's as the place to go. Why must you break my heart, yelpers... The entire experience was Horrible. It was a bad, small selection, and shoddy service. I wasnt sitting longer than 15 minutes and they were already handing me my bill. They charged 2 dollars for a fountain drink and didn't even refill it. i had to ask, and even then the server was hesitant. Everything was fried and unappealing. They must not know what vegetables are. Seriously one of the worst buffets I've ever been to. I have no idea how any of you can give this place anywhere above one star. The only thing remotely pleasing was the cut up melon. and if that's the highlight, there's no way this place should ever get over 2 stars. This place was so bad I had to sign up to Yelp just so I could give them the virtual stink-eye. as far as your guidance to this mecca of suck, you fail, yelpers.
(1)Tracy P.
Holy Moly this place is GOOD! I'm kinda surprised by some of the low ratings for Ming's. I've been eating at Ming's since 1998 and I have never had a meal that I didn't think was delicious! I'm usually a creature of habits when I go to a restaurant. I'm always afraid i'm going to try something new and it's going to suck and I'll regret not ordering my standard meal, but not at Ming's! I've been eating there so long now that I've tried just about everything once and it's always good. The restaurant itself is really nicely decorated. It's not to dark, no weird music playing, there's just a nice ambiance about the place. The staff is super friendly and they remember us and always come and have a nice chit chat to see what we've been up to since out last visit. For the dinner service everyone starts out with a plate of fried wont ton strips with a sweet and sour type sauce. LOVE this stuff. The staff doesn't hover around and gives you plenty of time to browse the menu. Another thing is if you have a question about a menu item they do a great job of describing the dishes. Soup portions, along with all the portions are very generous! Unless you have hollow legs there will be plenty to take home. If your not a fan of the doggy bad, one dish is plenty to share with another person. Another thing I love about Ming's is I order my dishes extra spicy and you know what? They are ACTUALLY spicy!! I ordered a combination low mein made spicy and it would blow your socks off! It was great and NOT sitting in a pool of oil! Actually, I have never found the food here to be greasy at all. Don't want your Mongolian Beef deep fried?? Just ask and they will simply stir fry your beef instead. I can also say that all the veggie dishes are outta site! My favorite is the Schezuan Tofu Pot. It come still simmering to the table, a lovely little pot filled with asparagus, zuccini, carrots, broccoli, snow peas, baby corn, water chesnuts, bamboo shoots, fresh jalapeno slices, and a mess load of tofu in a schezuan brown sauce. I can't recommend it enough. I'd give Ming's a try if I were you, baring some kind of weird kitchen disaster I think you will find it's some of the best Chinese food around.
(5)Chanh S.
I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be going back. The soups are only $2 but they are tasty! You have to try the wonton soup or the eggdrop soup. Me and my wife split the shrimp w/ Chinese vegetables and it was huge. What I liked about this place is that they didn't give us crap for splitting a plate and even gave us two plates without even us asking. There was so much food we almost didn't finish but it was so good I polished the rest off. The reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the service is what you'd expect from non-American servers. They spent more time making sure the dishes were clean and the lunch buffet was cleared than making sure we had water and our check when we were done. Either way, the food was great, good price, and very cozy atmosphere.
(4)Cameron R.
Fantastic Chinese food! I always order General Tao's Chicken when I eat Chinese anywhere, and this is probably the best I have had in Colorado so far! Wontons are also delicious and the staff has always been kind and attentive. Carry out is always fast and easy as well

I was deliberating which asian restaurant to order from, I was skeptical they would deliver to my address since I was slightly out of the 2.5 radius but was pleasantly surprised when the voice on the other end checked, and confirmed they would deliver to me. What I ordered Hot and sour soup Mu shu pork Kung pao chicken I was craving mu shu pork, and couldn't find any yelp reviews but when it arrived pipping hot accompanied by 4 pancakes to cradle the fixings in I was elated. Just as I remembered it tasting and just enough sauce on the side for each pancake. Something a little different, I highly recommend. Hot and sour soup was also up to par Kung pao chicken was served with more veggies than I'm used to, I wasn't to keen on the celery, but others might enjoy this healthier version. Next time I'll try something else. All and all a good pick.

This is probably the best chinese food I've ever had in Denver - and I mean it when I say it. Doesn't matter if it's take-out or dine-in, Ming's has some seriously authentic Mandarin, Cantonese and Szechuan cooking. At first the atmosphere is not much different than the chinese restaurants you used to go to as a kid with your family. It gives the place a nostalgic feel even if it's your first time coming in. The service has always been very friendly and exceptional each time I've gone. Wait has never been bad either, even when it's been busy. If you're in for lunch, might as well go for the special lunch buffet. It has a good variety of dishes that you won't ever get bored of. For dinner, my personal favorite is the Hong Kong roast duck - deliciously prepared duck cooked to crispy perfection without the nasty grease... I really like duck, but I absolutely love Hong Kong duck! I felt it take me away to the very heart of Hong Kong itself. Hands down a great dining experience every time I've gone - I doubt they'll ever disappoint. May Ming's Dynasty continue to reign in Denver Chinese cuisine... and beyond! Stay hungry my friends.

Bland. Good service but the food just wasn't very good. We got the Ming Dynasty Dinner. 21.95/person. It was a lot of food but none of it was very good. The Egg Drop soup was thick and tasted lick chicken. The Pu-pu platter was neat and came with a flame in the middle but I've never had egg rolls or crab ragoons that I didn't like. The crust had a weird aftertaste. My entree was moo shoo chicken, which is usually pretty safe and I'd say it was up to par. Not great, not bad, can't really mess it up. I won't be going back.

Family owned and operated. Building and area are a bit dated outside but don't be fooled, the inside was very clean and pretty. Good service and good prices. We had the volcano drink (a little sweet but big enough for 3 people to share), kung pao shrimp, chicken and broccoli, and lemon chicken (order sauce on the side so the chicken stays crisp and you can choose how much lemon sauce you want). Everything was delicious and we leftovers so the portions were good.

Great costumer service! We ordered take out and they threw in free spring rolls. The food tasted good to me. Not sure what the other people were eating, when they said the food was tasteless. My younger brother, who is the pickiest eater I've ever met, Loved it! I would suggest trying this place.

Decent lunch buffet. If you are going to come here for lunch, there's no reason not to get the buffet. I normally stay away from buffets, because I always overeat, and this time was no different. The food was pretty decent as far as chinese buffets go. Not a ton of selection but what they had was amazing. They really need to label the food though because I accidentally ate some fried calamari (and thought it was chicken!!!). And there is a TON of fried food here, that would meet a whole week's worth of fat consumption. I was kind of upset that the trays would stay empty as long as they did though. I held out hope that they'd bring out more orange beef (or pork, I really couldn't tell) as the fat man sitting at the table next to me seemed to help himself to the rest. They had run out and replaced it with chicken! I already had so much chicken on my plate I couldn't go back for any more. Everything was delicious though and I am in a hazy food coma as I type this.

Definitely Delicious. Ive ordered the Lemon Chicken which is a nice portion and the eggrolls. They are friendly when you call in your order and its done quickly. Never had a problem with a order when i got it home. I see they have a lunch buffet but i never had it yet. But like everything that comes out of here im sure its on par as well.

We discovered Ming's the first night we moved here. It's right across the street from our apartment and we were tired and wanted something fast. I was pretty impressed. No, it's not the best Chinese I've ever had but the portions are huge. Every time we order for delivery, each entree gives us at least 2 meals. We've always just done delivery and we always have our food within 30 minutes, usually 20. They made a mistake once but gave us a credit for the missing egg rolls on our next order. Great neighborhood chinese place.

Excellent sesame tofu... Weird egg drop soup (why was there celery in it?). The delivery guy was very friendly, though!

All I order and love from this place is combination lo mein. It is hard to find a place that does not serve more grease than noodles. I am not a bid fan of the lunch buffet. But to each their own.

I can't really say anything bad about Ming's Dynasty but I can't really say anything good about it either. Nothing special, typical Chinese cuisine served either off the menu or from the steam tray trough (all you can eat at lunch). I suspect that the food served off the menu also come from steam trays in the kitchen. There are loads of better options in Denver if you're looking for good Chinese food.

Oh Ming - it's like I'm 12 again. Ming's Sunday Lunch Buffet reminds of me Church day's with the family. My parents would occasionally take us out to a place called Hong Kong restaurant where the food was plentiful but the dollar signs were not. with a family of 5 kids, you have to budget wisely -- and this is exactly what Ming's was: a budget friendly buffet! I was with 2 others. We were greeted kindly upon walking and almost immediately seated. The waiter was prompt with giving us glasses of water and our menus. He was quite jovial too, which made it all the better. As we were perusing the menus, he asked what we thought. Homing in on our indecisiveness, he mentioned the buffet. "No pressure. But check out what we have. Try something if you like, I won't tell. If you don't like what's there, you can order family style". By golly miss molly - the buffet had everything we wanted to try. The crab cheese rangoons were excellent for having been batch cooked. The wonton was just lightly fried and the filling quite soft. The sesame wings and fried shrimp - Yumm. Deep fried just right. Cashew chicken, sweet and sour pork, name a classic, it was there. Plus - huge pots of steamed white rice and hot & sour soup were yearning to be stirred. At $8.99 a person, you really can't complain for this all you can eat option. The food is well cooked. The atmosphere is quaint. The place was pleasantly hygienic. I think I'll pop by tonight for some take out....

Always friendly and pretty quick. Definitely my go to for take out!

I love Ming's, they're open late and their spicy really delivers a punch. The crab and cheese wontons are also amazing. If you get delivery the guy will be there before you hang up the phone.

Wanted to try them, then I learned they serve shark fin soup. Booooo!!!

The food was good, but the service is what pushed it to 5 stars. Genuine hellos when you walk in the door and the staff loves chatting with everyone, very friendly! Our soup to start was perfect and the entrees great as well. I'm guessing a manager and possible owner came by to check on us. They helped and seemed to love working with people. Maybe not the best in town, but pretty good, but the genuine, caring staff will certainly bring us back. Had Wonton Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, Szechaen Chicken (great spice) and Chicken with Vegetables ( a nice mild dish with great veggies) Hot tea was perfect as well. Check this place out!

The boyfriend and I loooove Chinese buffets for a nice, filling lunch on a weekend. We went last Sunday for the lunch buffet and it was lovely. The restaurant was incredibly crowded, mostly with large groups--always a good sign. The servers and hostess were friendly and managed to hold up well under stress. I loaded my plate with chicken with mushrooms, sesame chicken wings(!) wontons, and got a nice big bowl of hot and sour soup. The food was nice and fresh, with people coming out from the kitchen every so often to dump new food onto the buffet. Though it was very crowded, I had no problems moving around. Other customers were loud, as was the Chinese music blasting from speakers over the buffet. The food was nothing drop-dead amazing, but quite decent and tasty. It's easy to see why so many people crowd into Ming's Dynasty for lunch on a Sunday!

Went to eat the lunch buffet at Ming's as it was recommended to me by a friend. The food tasted fine, and I'm sure that the restaurant is an adequate choice for carry out or delivery. BUT... and this is a big BUT, I will never eat there again. No, it's not because of the mediocre wait service I received from the staff. It's not because of the tiny, cramped corner booth the hostess put me in when 2/3 of the restaurant was empty and available. It is because they do not offer free refills on soda orders. You read that right, no refills. Now, I know that out of the plethora of problems that a restaurant could have this seems a bit like nitpicking. But I don't believe it is. Here are my reasons: 1) Out of the dozens upon dozens of restaurants I have dined at in the Denver area this is ONLY sit down restaurant that doesn't have refills. As a matter of finances, a refill costs the establishment maybe a nickel or a dime. That's it. Refusing this conventional service while ALL competitors honor it seems not only counterintuitive, but counterproductive. 2) This nonrefillable 16 ounce glass was filled to the brim with ice. This means I received maybe 6 ounces of actual beverage. 3) The price for the nonrefillable drink was $2.00. This is about the same (or a quarter more) than competing restaurants charge for a bottomless glass of liquid refreshment. So I paid $2.00 for 6 ounces of Pepsi from a soda fountain. 4) There was no mention of the no-refill policy before I ordered in the form of a strategically placed sign, nor any mention of the policy when I ordered the drink. It was only brought to my attention after asking for a refill after only a couple of small sips emptied my glass of the non-ice contents. 5) It was a BUFFET. So you're telling me I can eat 25 crab cheese wontons, a pound of kung pao, go back for thirds on hot and sour soup, devour a bowl full of shrimp, go silly with a mountain of sweet and sour pork and top it all off with three plates of rice and chow mein, but ask for ten more ounces of sugar water? PAY UP, BITCH! I'm an easy going guy, but I don't tolerate being taken advantage of even for only a couple bucks. If a dining establishment wants to foster goodwill towards patrons, both present and future, it's best not to sweat the small stuff when implementing a business model. If this means losing a dime in profit here and there from a $2.00 purchase, it might just be the cost of doing business. I'll never go back to Ming's and I'll suggest to everyone I know to avoid the restaurant.

This was the first meal out since moving to Denver and I was not disappointed. Especially since most places in the area close at 9 and dynasties apparently last an hour longer. To start with, I thought that the bill was going to be steep because of the beautiful interior and patio......usually such construction/remodels tend to get into menu prices. However, this was not at all the case. Bang for your buck can for sure be celebrated here. The service was excellent and made me feel like I was in a 5 star place as several people attended to me and my two buddies like the Dali Lama had multiplied into 3 people. Hot tea which should always accompany a nice chinese meal which cost 50 cents extra/ person was served out of an endless pot. No soup before dinner and I thought that the food was only ok to good, although the portions left everyone full with a remaining meal to boot. 3.5 stars of Chinese goodness!

This was the best Chinese food I have had in a very long time....very clean an the service very nice
(4)Natalie H.
This is seriously the best Chinese food that I have ever had. It's not greasy and cheap tasting like most Chinese restaurants and you don't feel sick to your stomach after eating here. The staff is wonderful! Everyone is so nice, they keep your water full, and the wait isn't bad at all. Yes, they are a little more expensive than other places but it is worth it. I've only been once for the buffet but it was excellent. My husband and I usually go once a week when we are at the creepy laundry mat next door. Everything I've ordered has been fantastic. The pineapple duck, ginger bok choy with chicken, sesame chicken, and everything I've stolen off my husband's plate is AWESOME. Even the fried rice is amazing. Yup, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant ever.

We went to Ming's tonight for an early (4:45PM) Valentine's dinner with the kids (2yrs. & 4mos.) The food was awesome and fast. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The service & interior seemed fancier than the bill amounted too.

Delivery always arrive in 20-30 mins, even when they estimate a lot longer. The food is always good and hot.
(5)Vi N.
Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. It tasted freshly made, not just the stuff hanging out under heat lamps. Friendly service and great food. Definitely try the Japanese Eggplant with Garlic Sauce if you like eggplant. It's spicy, but in a great way!

This place is a buffet to the max during lunch. You see the people that you expect to see at a buffet. The old couple, the obese man, the crazy looking guy, and me (the naked guy with mittens on). I am a huge fan of their curry chicken dish accompanied by their signature drink that looks like a flaming volcano. It goes down and out well. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of the owner Bill. This guy is the ultimate. He will come to your table and see how everything is and chat with you. But the best part is he will always remember your name. One time my girlfriend, my brother Chris (visiting from out of town), and I went and met Bill. One month later my girlfriend and I went back to fill up our pockets with lo mien and Bill stopped by. He asked me how my brother Chris was. I about crab rangooned my pants. You have to give this place a whirl. I give it a strong 4 woks. Woka, Woka, Woka, Woka.

I found a cockroach in my food! Absolutely disgusting! I ordered some delivery last night for dinner and went to heat up some leftovers today for lunch. I opened up a new carton of rice, which had been sealed and in the fridge all night. As I'm breaking it apart to reheat it, I find a cockroach! I almost puked. I'm contacting the health department.

We ordered food for delivery to our hotel and it was delivered quickly and the food was fresh and hot. We didn't know this but their chow mein is the crunch noodles with the stir fried dish served on top of those noodles. If you want the soft noodles, order the lo mein. Wonton soup was REALLY good.

I've lived in Denver most of my life. I was surprised when a few years ago, a friend of mine mentioned Ming's Dynasty as having the best Chinese food in Denver and I had never heard of it. So of course I had to try it. I've been there a few times and I can't vouch for it being the best in Denver, but I can say it is really good. I always judge Chinese restaurants by their chow fun (a wide, thick, opaque noodle) and Ming's has some of the best chow fun in town. I've only ordered the beef chow fun for take-out, and it is never oily, very tasty and the beef is always cooked to perfection. I suppose a wise reviewer would rate a restaurant based on its selection, quality, consistency, service, cleanliness and price and I can't speak to many of these criteria except to say that the beef chow fun is consistently good and is reasonably priced. In any case, I do anticipate going there in the future, for a real, sit down type of meal and I plan on ordering the duck. But I am a big noodle fan at heart so I will probably end up ordering the chow fun anyway to take home since old habits die hard.

Came to pick up some food for dinner at Mings for my fiancee and i. It's in a small shopping center with Mings standing on its own. Lots of parking. Upon walking in.. the lights were pretty dim. Gives you that intimate type feeling.. order to go from the cashier up front. Very helpful by the way. Answered all my questions about the food.. cause sometimes you just never know. I ordered: Chow mein- house special.. with beef/chicken/pork/shrimp... I love chow mein and this was oh-so good. One of the tastiest chow mein dishes I've had. And the order was huge. Mongolian beef- deep fried beef with a orange sauce. This was more like orange crispy beef. This turned out good as well..if your looking for beef and onions.. this is not the same. See pic. Honey walnut shrimp- typical flavor. But they don't short you on the shrimp. Generous portion and not small either. My fiancée loved it. Egg rolls were your regular non meat egg rolls. Just veggies inside. The food took about 20 minutes to get packaged up and ready to go. But it was worth it. I'm from San Diego where chinese restaurants are everywhere. This spot could easily be up there. Yum.

The service was terrible and horrible. I had a food to go. When i came back to the Hotel I realized, they did not put any utensils. When i complain about untensil. They said "We NEVER give utensils for food to go in the evening and you never ask for it" Really food to go... NO utensils! Eat with a HAND. Instead taking care the customer they acting like its customers fault. Sweet and Sour shrimp was not good. The shrimp was so small I had look for it, it was all flour dough...
(1)Kelly R.
I have always liked this place...although, I 've never ordered delivery. After reading the reviews about how good they are with delivery, I decided to try it.... I ordered: EXTRA SPICY Mongolian Shrimp - actually spicy Crab Cheese wontons - filled well, not all fried dough like many restaurants in town (Thai Pot Cafe) Well done, Ming! Delivery came quickly, food was hot and tasted great! They did forget hot mustard, which I asked for, but will not ruin the entire meal.
