this place has alot of potential, the food is decent, the service is ok its just the portions aren't really that big for what you pay for. Food can be good but Im very big on portion size as well. It has a great setting outside next to the creek as well. Would I go back again probably not I'd rather try other places in the area before coming back here

The pork and chicken schnitzel was to die for, and the euro meat was the best i've had in a while. The bread rolls came out fresh and hot, soft unlike other places. Everything on the menu was flavorful and out of this world delicious. This place surprised me on how good it is! Next time i'm around Georgetown, this is a place i'm defiantly will swing by.

Good Goulash and Czech beer on tap

Love this place... Food is great, portion are just the right size and the staff is friendly. hard working people running a family business. I love to hear the sound of meat being pounded after I ordered a schnitzel. the red cabbage is to die for and homemade.. I repeat HOMEMADE.. their goulash is almost as good as my mom made it...

Wonderful, quick and friendly service. In gtown for thanksgiving. Thank goodness this place was open. Veiner schnitzel was great. Hope it doesn't weigh me down so much that I can't ski tomorrow!

I won't give it a completely bad review because I think it COULD be good (some of the food that people in our party was really, really good). But the service, oh my god, was possibly the worst I've ever experienced. Our waitress was very pleasant and you could see she meant well, but she was SO easily flustered and not comprehending what needed to be done. We had a somewhat large party and the dishes were brought out one at a time over the course of at least half an hour. Some people were completely finished with their dinners while other people were still sitting there waiting for their food. Two of us never got our dinners at all and it wasn't until one of us tracked down the waitress that we got them - she'd thought we all had food so had started waiting on the next table while we were sitting there with nothing in front of us. So when we got our entrees (I had the goulash) they had a skin on them from sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Gross. Again - some of the entrees that people in our party got were really good (a friend took pity on me, sitting there with no food, and let me have some of her salmon which was delicious). But they've really got to step up the service aspect of the place - it ruined the whole experience.

Had breakfast while waiting for the half marathon to start. Pancakes were above average, service very attentive. The breakfast burrito was not what I expected, basically hamburger in a tortilla. Maybe that's a European breakfast burrito? Looks like more of a dinner place but was ok for breakfast. The service was much better than others have suggested.

Great traditional German and Greek food. The Hungarian Goulash is not to be missed!! Skip the Gyro.

On our way home from Vail, my husband and I stopped in Georgetown for lunch. We drove through town and landed at the Euro Grill. Our service was great...I'll admit the place was empty and we were the only customers they needed to take care of. We both ordered giros and they were very tasty. Our servings were very large...too many fries for me, but I guess it is better to have more than you want than not enough. The prices seem fair for what you get...they actually seem cheap after 3 days in Vail.

We came for breakfast and had a good experience. The service was fine, and the bread, pancakes and coffee were excellent. Our only complaint would be the menu seemed limited and uninspired. A Denver omelet at a place called Euro Grill? Yawn. Be sure to enjoy the porch by Clear Creek!

Really good restaurant - had the Bohemian roast duck with bread dumpling and red cabbage for a late lunch. Service was very good.

This is a Czech restaurant on the outskirts of Georgetown. It's a large and roomy place (meaning the tables aren't within a foot of each other as with many restaurants) with indoor and outdoor seating. A stream runs right by the patio, which is a nice touch. The establishment appears to be clean, but could use a more appealing paint job on the outside. The bathrooms were clean and looked recently updated. For dinner, I had their chicken gnocchi with asparagus (I know, this dish is Italian, not Czech!) And my fiancé had the beef soup as an appetizer with his main dish being the beef and dumplings. He really enjoyed it, but it wasn't too my taste. I loved my gnocchi, though. I had their raspberry cocktail for dessert. Yum! My fiancé had the apple strudel and liked it (but I thought my dessert was better!). We both enjoyed our Pilsner Urquells throughout our meal. Our waitress was reserved but polite and the service was decent.

Some dishes were better than others, and the young wait person was pleasant, but a bit clueless! The best choice was the Svickova (marinaded tender beef slices in a rich flavorful gravy served with tender slices of dumpling). The goulash was pretty tasty, but the two members of our group who ordered the braised pork in gravy were both disappointed: it was bland, a bit salty, and mostly not much there. Both servings were all gravy & very little pork! The dumpling slices served with all three dishes were very good. We found both traditional Czech beers tried to be disappointing to tastes formed by more robust microbrews. BTW, this is NOT traditional American fair, the EuroGrill serves a Czech/Eastern European menu!

Euro Grill was a good find. We stopped off in Georgetown for a quick lunch before hitting the 4x4 trails. We were seated quickly on the outdoor patio along the creek. The waitress as friendly and fast. The very good and fresh.

We made a road trip from AZ to MN - driving 500-900 miles a day and getting really exhausted fast. All we needed to do was take a seat in the Euro Grill and the stress melted away. The waitresses are great and so sweet. The Veal Schnitzel was perfect - crisp and tender. The potato salad was the same as we got in Germany! The Weiner Roast Braaten NY was done to perfect med-med/rare with a smooth peppercorn sauce. I tried to replicate the potato hash & theirs was better! LOL Ordered a piece of Streudel to go - was huge & so flake! Portion size is large - so be hungry - because the food is so good you will want to share a couple of dishes! Wish they were closer to us in AZ!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through!

Super cute place, so glad we found it! Amazing pork schnitzel! Went for lunch and the serving was pretty big, with really tasty mashed potatoes. My husband got their goulash with dumplings and he really liked it too. The only thing is the service. It was alright, could do better. Servers seemed not to like their jobs very much. But we will definitely be back for the food!

Outdoor seating 4 stars, service 3 stars, food 2 stars - Overall 2.5 stars. What carries the experience is the outdoor seating, location, uniqueness, and the service was as pleasant as any we received when we had been in Europe (see pics of restaurant and food). The food was okay, not disappointing but not particularly memorable. I had the pork goulash - meat was tender but the sauce was very salty and reminded me of coming from a packet. The baked brie was great (pretty hard to get that one wrong) Offering foreign beer. Apple bread pudding dessert with ice cream was not-too-sweet and pleasant without being compelled to return for it. I make my own fermented kraut and was excited to try an order of their red cabbage on the side. It was good, yet without the singing memory of eating kraut in Europe. People will either love this place or think meh. Before you go please note: The server explained this is Czech food, quite different from German. The "dumplings" are actually just steamed white bread (in addition to the regular white bread and butter brought to the table.) A meal averages $16 p/person, the dessert was $7. Add a drink and an app or dessert and expect to pay closer to $30 p/person. The food took about 30 minutes, restaurant was empty during our visit. The service seemed on par with European culture and wasn't unfriendly. I can overlook preferences in service or ambiance if the food is amazing, it was okay. We took our leftovers home, but we didn't opt to reheat it later. This place can still be something fun and different to try while in Georgetown, just set your expectations accordingly. If we go back, it will likely be just to sit outside with a foreign beer and appetizer only.

Very good stop in the mountains. Loved eating outside next to the river. The chicken and pork schnitzel was like I had in Germany! The goulash soup was perfect, spicy and tasty. The apple strudel was genuine even with the whipped cream to the side. Great service. Lunch menu was good but the dinner menu looked great. We will be back.
(5)Heather M.
The food was so good! Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were stuck on I70 in major traffic and had to stop for dinner. We were surprised and delighted to find this restaurant. Beautiful outdoor seating near the river. They even let our dogs sit next to us.
(5)Liz D.
Excellent goulash. Just like in Prague. Beautiful deck that sits right along the creek bed. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy Eastern European style food or just a nice setting in the mountains.
(5)Jennifer T.
Meh, not the best place to stop for lunch. We stopped for lunch with visiting family because the deck overlooking the creek looked nice. The lunch selection was really slim. There was a cheeseburger, hamburger, and blue cheese sandwich on the "lunch" menu. I ordered the blue cheese sandwich and it was mediocre at best. My husband ordered their brie with raspberry app and it came out with a pile of tomatoes instead. He's not a fan of tomatoes so he wasn't real happy with his meal either. We actually watched a table come and go after looking at the menu. I wish we had too!!

We stopped in Georgetown for lunch and fell instantly in love with its Swiss feel, which made B. crave European food. We were advised to try out Euro Grill. It was pretty deserted for a Saturday afternoon, but it was a beautiful day, and there's a wonderful sparkly creek running fast out back. They had a large patio for people to enjoy the view, but we opted to sit indoors because of our allergies. The waitress gave us the best of both worlds and sat us by a window. She was excellent and efficient, and even came to our rescue when we discovered a spider in a wine glass that had been sitting on the table. B. declared the pork schnitzel to be the best he's ever had, and he's tried quite a few, including in Germany and Austria. I got the gyro, because I can't resist tzatziki sauce. I was a little surprised when it didn't come out as the little puffy wrap-in-foil I expected, but a kind of assemble it yourself deal with enough meat for four or five gyros. It was excellent in any case, the meat not to soggy, not too dry, just waayy too much for one meal. I got a box to take the rest home, and when I asked if I could have a lidded containers for the remainder of the sauce (do you know how hard it is to find it in stores, let alone spell it?) she said she'd bring me a fresh serving in a container instead. P.S. - nicest restaurant bathroom I've ever seen. Only 1 toilet, but neat, clean, and beautifully decorated! Definitely a place we'd try again.

Food is great! Agree with everyone; the European entrees are great here and reasonably priced. Service really brings my rating down; was very slow even though the place was nearly empty. Quaint music was on in the background and the decorum was a little unusual; definitely a kitschy vibe. They did however have a great outdoor seating area; if it hadn't been raining I think our experience might have been a little different breathing in some mountain air. If you're into a slow-paced sip of beer or wine with some goulash, I would definitely give this place a try.
(3)Victoria G.
My sisters and I ate here last week. Loved the food! It was too cold too eat outside, so we enjoyed a view by the window. As compared to other reviews, our service was great. I loved the goulash. I found the prices reasonable and would definitely go back.

This place is seriously hit or miss. After eating here a dozen or so times I would never order anything but the schnitzels - which are generally very good. Everything else is HIGHLY variable. The servers don't speak very good English (they are European) but it's rare for anything to get lost in the translation. They do tend to drop the plate in front of you and walk off. Weird. If you are there when it's busy you can count on awful service. Also - not extremely knowledgeable - I went in with my parents once and they ordered the fish and chips. It was an off night for the fish and chips. My mother asked what kind of fish it was and the waitress replied "nobody knows - Sysco brings it in boxes" direct quote. I just don't see myself going back here very often if at all. It's just off in some weird way.

Better places in town for both good food n service

My friend and I went over Guanella Pass from Grant into Georgetown this past Saturday, and after some pleading, he agreed to take us to the Euro Grill. I dare say we were both extremely pleased. As they were closing for a 3-week vacation starting today, they only offered a limited menu. Fortunately for me, the chicken schnitzel I was desperately craving was on this menu, whereas my friend (who doesn't like to try new things) just did a mixed green salad with caramelized walnuts and added grilled chicken. We began with a bread basket and we each had a glass of wine. If I were rating just on the food, I was have probably given this 5 stars. My chicken schnitzel was cooked to perfection; the German red cabbage was extremely delicious and the mashed potatoes were perfectly lovely. If there were anything less than stellar about the dish, it might be that the brown gravy on which the schnitzel rested tasted like it came from a mix. Still, I neither needed nor wanted the gravy for anything as each part of the dish was perfect. I'm even amazed at the utter deliciousness of the German red cabbage, as I've never had it nor made it quite the same way. My friend was also raving about how much he loved his salad - which is a rare thing for him to say. The only reason this isn't being given 5 stars is because, as other reviewers have noted, the service was a bit lacking. We were there in the late afternoon in a restaurant that was almost empty, yet the service was still slow. While the waiter was far from being rude, he wasn't exactly as warm and friendly as we come to expect from the service. This, as well as the fact he was dressed rather slovenly for the restaurant, took away from the experience. I had been hiking mountain trails on the pass when I arrived, yet I was by far much better dressed. I will say that when we asked him some basic questions, he seemed to open up a bit more, appearing less guarded. I'll give him some credit and assume he was ready for vacation after a busy season. I'll nonetheless be back the next time I'm in Georgetown.

We were recommended this place by the staff of our Hotel in Georgetown, wow what a little gem. We arrived for a late dinner on the patio, nice view of the creek. Great menu with a wonderful selection of European food, with an eastern influence that is something you have to try. The service was very European, in other words very paced. If you are looking for a quick in and out, you may not want this place. We started with some escargot, it was cooked perfect. We also had some baked brie; it was not really to my taste. We had the Schnitzel, and some amazing Veal. You can tell that each dish is made to order, and they take their time to do it right. Very authentic food, and tasty. Can't wait to return and try more of the mouthwatering menu.

When we visited Georgetown today, we were disappointed that many of the restaurants were closed. After circling around a few times, we settled on Euro Grill, a little skeptical based on its outward appearance. Wow, were our doubts unworthy! We were immediately impressed by the inner decor and very friendly staff- the other reviews of poor service were very unlike our own service. Our server was friendly, timely, and had great recommendations. My husband ordered the fish and chips, which was lightly battered and fresh- delicious. I had the chicken schnitzel and finished more than I should have! The food was phenomenal and we really enjoyed the Pilsner as well. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you stop by Georgetown!

We tested our theory that there is a "sweet spot" with Euro Grill in terms of arriving at a prime-time for the best service, ambiance and vittles just a few weeks ago, again. I think we're on to something - this time we arrived at 4:00ish and decided to have a couple of rounds of drinks at the bar. The bartender/server made a fantastic dirty martini! So, we ventured to our table at 5:00 and ordered as we were seated. Sure enough, by about 5:10 the floodgates opened and the place was packed. Lucky enough to get our order in before the throng, we were served at 5:35. That's ok, it was still lovely and I had ordered duck and the Mr ordered their steak. I found the duck needing a bit more sauce than just the orange that was offered for squeezing. The dumplings seemed dry w/o a gravy as my last meal had (which was a different dish - so now i know to ask for something to dip the duck & dumplings in). The Mr enjoyed his steak, found it cooked to order and tasty. 1/2 way through the meal, someone from the kitchen came out and turned the pleasant low-light up and then proceeded to constructing a 12-top table. A train of 8 children/infants followed with 4 adults and our lovely evening turned into Chuck E Cheese just like that. We overheard 2 of the 4 adults attempting to order children's meals for themselves and being declined by the waitress - they ended up ordering burgers. We really could not fathom why this group had passed-up 2 pizza joints in town to go to Euro Grill, but hey - that's not Euro Grill's fault. I did, however, reduce a star from my past review as the message is consistent regarding the number of servers to patrons in previous reviews and has now rung true in my visits-to-date. Good food, well worth a visit - but as I have said before try to avoid prime-time rush for best results.

Don't waste your time or money. Service was very bad--they messed up 2 out of 3 orders, we had to ask for refills because the entire table was out of water, and the check was wrong. Waitress was more concerned with closing than customers. Food was just blah and seriously overpriced.
(2)Katy H.
Great food and very friendly staff. We enjoyed a Sunday late lunch after a drive to see fall colors. They were all very friendly and accommodating to my kids and we all enjoyed our meals!
(5)Mary S.
Great food, lovely waitress (a bit hard to understand her accent) and pleasant deck by a brook. The only thing I didn't care for were the fish & chips: a couple small deep fried pieces... Edible, but far from the best I've ever had. Stick with the authentic dishes.
(4)Jeff D.
I have to agree with Mary's July 13, 2010 review: possibly the worst service ever. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. My wife and I decide to take a spontaneous trip to the mountains from Denver and just land wherever our paths took us for lunch. That path, unfortunately, lead to Euro Grill. We were initially hesitant to go inside (nothing really under $9 on the menu for lunch), but the parking lot was full so we thought, "Hey, it can't be that bad." It turned out that all the cars belonged to what appeared to be an old lady hat party of some sort. No one else but them was in the joint. So, we sat at our table for five minutes, five real minutes, before anyone comes to our table. I order beer for the two of us (the beer came out 10 minutes'ish later and was really good). It's "Euro Grill," so slow service is just keeping with the theme, right? Then we try and order food. I order the svÃková and my wife orders the slow-roasted garlic pork. In so ordering the svÃková (pronounced sveech-ko-va), I somewhat bungle the pronunciation whereupon the waitress proceeds to get snarky and smarts off something or another and corrects me. That's fine. I'll know next time. Then, after all of this waiting, our food comes out in record time. I mean "wow-there-was-no-way-they-just-prepared-that" time. It was like they had leftovers from the night before, slopped it on a plate, and then put it in the microwave. We ate it - whatever "it" was. My wife's was cold and mine tasted like a TV dinner. And the portions? Well, definitely "European." The tab, all tolled, camed to $45.00 with tip. And, trust me, the tip was not all that generous. I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. In fact, if there is a way to report them to "Kitchen Nightmares," so that they get it together, I would love to know how. This place really needs a Chef Ramsay intervention, if not a Department of Health inspection. Until then, I urge all of my unsuspecting metro adventurers to keep driving west to Dillon. You're bound to find something better. I wish we had.

Had a very mixed lunch at the Euro Grill over Memorial Weekend. It was not crowed for a late lunch. All food for four diners came warm, almost cold. I got distracted by a phone call and had to walk away for 5 minutes so my cold food upon return didn't cause me to question; at first. Then when I realized how dry my gyros meat was, I began asking around the table and found the same "off-notes". From our example plates, I'd say Euro Grill knows European well, menu items we tried not European were very lackluster. However in our case, if European doesn't look, smell and feel like it just came off the grill and from the kitchen, then lackluster is repeated. A four or five star restaurant does right 90% of the time. I'll give it one more go and we'll see.
(2)Scott Y.
So I'll be back. I do like the food. My only problem is, and its a biggie, is the servers don't actually make the tips that you give. All of the servers were foriegn girls on a work/travel program. Generally, it's none of my business how you conduct your own business. But when my tips are going to the owner who's been sitting on his ass watching TV at the bar all night, I gotta draw the line. While I wouldn't call the Euro grill fine dining (mostly because the service certainly is NOT fine dining), they have fine dining prices. The idea that a couple could go in, spend $100 and tip $20 without the server seeing a dime, pisses me off. So, like i said, I'll be back. The food is good, the servers are cute, and stiffing the servers/owner will never feel so good!!
(2)Jeff M.
Tried the Pork Schnitzel which came with whipped potatoes and yummy red cabbage. The food was delish and the meal was only about $12. The Schnitzel and some of the meals were more of the Bavarian/ Austrian/ Eastern style and i liked that. Mmmm. They had a nice selection of food ranging from about $8 to $25 dollhairs. The atmosphere of the place was nice, i sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the stream flowing by just a few feet away. Everything was clean and laid out well. My only real complaint was service, it was a little slow. It prolly took about 10 minutes before I got my beer. The food was out pretty quick after that though. The food was great so if you have a little patience try it out.
(3)Joshua W.
Great little hideaway along hwy 70! If you like Goulash or Schnitzel, this is a great spot for you. Nice portions, not overwhelmingly large like many restaurants serve these days. Very authentic.
(4)Casey B.
Great restaurant when you're in the mood for delicious European food! The staff was very friendly, international music played, and the owners are European as well. The pork schnitzel was very tasty!
(4)Johnny W.
I am a Pilot and a Georgetown Resident and I can't figure out why this place isn't way more crowded. The location is right on Clear Creek with a Patio Riverview and the food is superb, one of a kind, Czech Bohemian. This was considered the best style of cooking in all of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. You will not find better Lager beer on Tap, nor someone that knows how to properly pour a Lager Beer than here. Be aware it takes 4-5 minutes to pour a Czech Pilsner. The Svichkova is out of this world along with the Schnitzels and the Czech style of Red Cabbage & Dumplings. The Deserts are very good as well. Try a Czech Pacinky, which is off menu. The Folks that work there are Bohemian Czechs and are very reserved culturally and some might take that as rude. German Restaurants are a Dime a Dozen, but good Czech Restaurants that serve extremely hard to find Czech Pilsners on Tap are like Hens Teeth, even in places like NYC. TRY THIS PLACE OUT & You won't be disappointed.

Used to be on our list of places to eat with out of town guests. Atmosphere hasn't changed...still great. Food has deteriorated since our last visit over 12 months ago. Stopped on our way from Denver to Vail. Goulash was disappointing...meat tough and barely edible. Hamburger not exceptional, but fries were tasty. Long way to go for great fries. Won't be back for some time.
(2)Valerie S.
Fantastic food. We ordered 4 different entrees and all of them were delicious and priced reasonably. Will definitely be back.
(5)Jeni H.
This restaurant desperately needs to up their standards. Until then, I would not recommend eating here.

Took my 4 yo grandson here for lunch. Can't pronounce what I ordered, but it was excellent! Bought a hot dog for him, but he liked mine better, so we shared it. Great service too. We will return.
