My husband and I went here on the recommendation of the woman working at Hot Tomato Cafe, where we ate dinner and which is just about a block away from the bar. She called it Johnny's Saloon or something like that, but the sign out front said Buckboard. The bar is a dive - my husband's favorite kind. There are a couple pool tables in front and the bar and seating is at the back. We were there on a Friday night and the place was pretty packed with locals (I doubt many tourists go there because it's off the main strip and fairly inconspicuous). People were generally friendly - we talked for most of the night with a forty-ish couple, who were there with their son - but it was pretty obvious that we were tourists and I think the bar service was a bit slower for us than for the locals (not a huge deal but just FYI). There was a band with four old dudes playing country music and they were awesome. We had some Coors and gin and tonics, so not much to comment on the quality of the drinks other than the drinks were cheap. All in all, a pretty standard small-town bar. I would probably have given it three stars if there hadn't been the great live music.
