Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
Normally this place isn't so bad. I mean it's Applebee's, it's generally the same across the country. But tonight they were not in their game. It took 20 minutes to seat my family of 4, when there were several avaliable tables. I understand it is a Friday night, but the service was just terrible. We always order our kids food at the time we order an appetizer so they don't have to wait longer, they are 5 and 2 they get hungry and impatient. And a little while later my husband and I give our orders. Well, my husband's and I food came out about 2 minutes after our appetizers and our daughters orders are still no where in sight. This, to us is pretty unacceptable. The food was average, you get what you pay for.

Went in last night on a first date with someone. I've always enjoyed their food. The variety can't be beat....and neither can the service. The only issue I've had with the service is that sometimes the wait staff are slow on refills. Have not had anything to drink (alcohol) in awhile, but the bartenders here are always good. Polite. If they don't know how to make a drink, they'll figure it out for you. Good place to meet friends! It really is a neighborhood kind of place.

First I am not a big fan of chain restaurants, unfortunately for me my wife LOVES chains. Buuuuut..for an Applebee's this is NOT one of the better ones I have been to. Since it is down the street my wife and her friends and family like to frequent this place often. What I have seen is the hostesses are often lazy and look bored, there is only one waiter that has any type of personality and enthusiasm but only works the lunch hours, the rest of the wait staff slow and do not care about service. I am sure the cooks cannot read because every time at least one order is not correct. If you see this place keep on going by

Slow to take our order then cold salad on s hot plate and a server wit an attitude really! The cheese on the lettuce was melting and the lettuce wilted really! And then at (band camp) seriously the wait person reached over my plate and drug her sleeve through my cedar plank chicken. Which is new and not all that good. Over all this experience was ok at least.

3 two tops and 1 four top( was leaving) upon entering in the entire establishment. Had to wait over 5 minutes to be seated. Then waited another five minutes for our waitress to finish her conversation with the hostess before she greeted us and took our drink order. No napkins no silver given at any time during our meal. We just used our beverage napkin. Ordered wine... first glass had caked-on lipstick on it - the second glass had lipstick on it as well. ... screw it... I just drank from the other side. Uughhh... kiddo got her food served on a scorching hot plate.....hello..... she's only four!!! Where's the common sense left in the food service! You're killing it for the rest of us in the industry that gives a hoot!!!! ANTICIPATE THE CUSTOMERS NEEDS OR GET OUT OF THE INDUSTRY!!!!

Unfortunate that I haven't enjoyed an Applebee's in all of my travels and here was no exception. Waited long enough that we were seating ourselves when hostess Julianna showed up telling us the tables weren't cleaned and then tried seating us next to a big group, soccer team I believe. She had to wipe off table that we preferred cause guess what? Yep! None were clean and excuse after excuse. I had to clean the high chair that was filthy and wipe down the table that the hostess left soaked. The manager Joel did what he could but there was no saving it. Best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes. Everything else, microwave frozen dinner. Save your money and go elsewhere.

My chicken salad was good. The waiter was a little slow with greeting us. Took a while to get drinks. My wife's salad came out with no chicken when it was supposed to. The manager was very hands on with his duties as a manager. I gave three stars because I usually don't come here and feel it could be better on my next visit.

Went here tonight for my dads birthday. Its a wednesday so you would expect the waitress to ha e enough time for decent service, the food to be fresh, and the waters kept full. Nope nope and nope. I ordered the chicken fingers platter. The fingers were measly and dry. The honey mustard was horrible. It tasted like they put a dab of honey in chinese hot mustard. The cole slaw was dry and tasted like rabbit food. My mom had the asian burger that was supposed to have pineapple and and asian zinger type sauce. I cant even say the chef went retarded on her order, it was more like the chef went full potato. Not a hint of pineapple but plenty of other bits and pieces like mushrooms and bacon (not even supposed to be on there) and the asian zing sauce was mayo with sirachi added. The meat was dry but the bun was good. Thats about it. My dad is an army vet and would eat roadkill if if didnt have too many maggots on it, so he really didnt have a problem with his order.

Food was below par. Not enough chicken in the chicken won tons. Very inconsistent. Ordered one and got little chicken. Ordered another and got even less! NOT COOL. Mentioned it to the bartender and she seemed unconcerned. The bartender was good, don't get me wrong. Very attentive and had excellent timing. She should have mentioned the complaint to the manager who was always around the floor.

No gripes! Bee's is a B+. Service is great when you engage the server (a rookie spot for servers to begin a coLlege career). I think that the happy hour is the best time to visit this joint when looking to score for a little price. Don't hate when you come to a corporate spot to eat or drink, it makes you out to be a pretentious jerk who eats at corporate spots. If you want service or better food, not fried, try a local spot, otherwise leave it out of your review of the BEE'S. THE BEE'S don't care, just like the honey badger!

It's an Applebee's. Same praises and complaints as any major chain restaurant. Always greeted by a nice hostess, service is slow and drinks are a bit over priced. Best time to come in is in between lunch and dinner for optimal service. Anything else and expect your server to be frazzled, rushed and slow on your food and refilling drinks. Kids eat for .99 on Tuesdays.

Service is horrible tonight. Have only seen our waitress once since we placed our order. Currently we have been waiting on our food (rare burger and apps) for over 30 minutes.

ok this Applebee's was ok for a while, now it has become very bad. Service is slow and not attentive, food is horrible, brought to the table barely warm and dry fries, no taste to anything, they forget the chicken on the chicken Caesar salad, they bring you a hamburger with nothing on it, will never set foot there again. I gave them a chance because I thought everyone has a bad night, but after 4 tries things have gotten worse not better

It's Applebee's. It is what it is. Generic bar-and-grille chain smothering steaks with sauces to hide the quality. Ribs are decent enough. About as plain-vanilla as you can get. Soulless but acceptable.

Went for a late lunch today and ordered the shrimp and parm steak. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. Service was not the fastest but was pleasant. Will def go back!

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
