While the service is still figuring things out, the pancakes are good! Sourdough flap jacks are *almost* as good as Bubbys in Tribeca, NYC. B&G fell flat and the eggs Benedict left something to be desired. Stick with pancakes and you'll be set!

These hippies cried and complained about my review and got it removed. But the people need answers, so I'll remove all references to rappers, strippers, and diseases of the female anatomy: The marquee pancakes were decent, absolutely nothing special. Ours contained big a$s chunks of raw pancake mix. That's day one sh!t. If you hoes are gonna claim to be a pancake house, you need to first learn how to mix the godd@mn batter. The omelette was an odd shaped mound. At first, the girth of which got me excited. At least until I jumped in. A lot of hippies in FoCo have been talking a big game about the coffee here. Like the hash browns and eggs, it was mediocre at best. I'd hate to see someone from out of town think this is FoCos best breakfast. That'd be a real rookie mistake.

Pretty busy Saturday guessing that's why the food took about half an hour. Bacon is big and great. Food was good. Everyone liked the pancakes. Service was great. The only bad is the tap water they serve is horrible and my menu was taped together.
(4)Cathy B.
Expensive! Mediocre food. Little to no training on serving clientele. Hostess calls guests that are waiting outside, then promptly turns back into restaurant without waiting for them. .."closing door in their face". Waitress was curt and didn't know what the breakfast special was. Food was average and highly overpriced. With tip breakfast was $36!!!

I have been here twice. The food is wonderful. First time just had eggs and sausage, which if course comes with pancakes. I can't tell if its the pancakes that have a sweet flavor or if its the syrup that has a little vanilla in it. Whatever it is, it is tasty. The servers were awesome. They took turns checking on me and kept the delicious coffee coming. Today I had the Joe (it has a longer name but can't remember it). It's spanish onions, sausage, spinach and eggs all mixed together. I splurged and added chedder cheese. That was a good choice. This was delicious. Delicious is an understatement. Topped off with the amazing pancakes. Servers were different today and still top notch! Oh, did I say the coffee was good? It is!

This place was fantastic. My new favorite on the South side of town! Service was great! Coffee was hot and really good and the food was plentiful!. The only down side is it was pretty expensive for breakfast! I would really like to go in and get their coffee daily! Might I suggest that you serve your coffee while waiting for a table...?

Overall very tasty with generous portions. We had the chorizo omelette with pecan pancakes, side of bacon, side of turkey sausage, and kids junior plate. The omelette, pecan pancakes, and bacon was great. The turkey sausage was good, but nothing special. The junior plate was also good. Atmosphere is very open and comfortable with simple, semi modern decor. The tables seem a little on the cheap side (except for one big one). Service was fast and friendly. Since breakfast places can vary wildly in wait times, this visit was on a Wednesday at about 1 pm. So YMMV.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Amazing pancakes and biscuits and gravy. The bacon is nothing short of.... Amazing. The whole family enjoyed their food. Highly recommended!
(5)John S.
The food is very good, albeit very pricey. The way they cook their omelets takes extra time so not a place if you are in a hurry. Large orange juice, Denver omelet, hash browns, whole grain toast, tax & 18% tip = $26. Yikes!

TIPS: If you are a party of 2 or less, sit at the bar. No waiting. They have a communal table that you can sit at with strangers, but don't seem to mention that to anyone when they put their name on the list. Ask about it, because last time I went there were only 2 people at a 10 top. They are really, really busy right now since they are new, so if you come in with a large party you should expect to cut them some slack. They to to-go orders if you just want to get your food and eat in a quieter environment. FOOD: I had the baked pancake with strawberries and bananas and it was delicious. The bacon I ordered was nice and thick, though ran about $6 for 3 pieces. Fresh squeezed OJ hit the spot. The pancake, 2 glasses of OJ, and side of bacon with tip was $32. For one person. It was excellent, but keep in mind you will pay for it. I will pay that price because I am pregnant and craving pancakes! RECOMMENDATIONS: One criticism I have is that there were about 10 open tables even though there were about 12 parties waiting to be seated. Even if you don't have enough servers to cover every table, it would be smart and look better to go ahead and seat the customers and let them know it would be a few minutes before you could get to them. 4/5 stars!

Fort Collins has a lot of great breakfast places... and this one has cracked the top 3 for my family. Everything we've tried has been great... best "regular old" pancakes I've ever had. It's a bit pricey. Only real complaint is the water to wash your hands in the men's room is ice cold... I mean ICE cold and never gets any warmer... gotta fix that.
(4)Stephanie S.
Hands-down the best pancakes I've ever had. The eggs/hash browns/pancake platter is a great value and delicious. Would love to give them 5 stars, but I did have to send eggs back that were well under-cooked even after asking for them medium. Make no mistake, the apple pancake is more like an apple pie - delicious, HUGE, and very sweet. No complaints there though!

We have been fans of this chain in FL and were so thrilled to have it open locally. The menu remains the same and rightly so. I had the Swedish pancakes and they were delicious. My hubby had the blueberry pancakes and they were better than homemade! Super coffee, super service! We will be regulars.

Love this place & so happy it opened! We were huge fans of the Original Pancake House in Boulder & were very upset when it closed down unexpectedly. We would literally drive an hour to get breakfast. Dedication right there! Try the dutch baby, chocolate chip pancakes, bacon (so thick & crispy), fresh squeezed orange juice, even the coffee is good! The dutch baby comes with powdered sugar, butter, & lemon. The inside of the pancake is so soft & moist & tasty with all of the fixins. Chocolate chip pancakes come with chocolate sauce in place of syrup & homemade whip cream! (Say WHAT?!) We continue to go back!

I've had better food at Denny's. Here the Bacon is to think and smokey tasting. The scrambled eggs are OK. Their minced ham has no taste, they should do ham chunks instead. Their hash browns are greasy. And their hot tea lost it's hot. It's only Luke warm. You can get hotter out of the tap. This place actually sucks.

This place was across the parking lot from the hotel my boyfriend and I were staying in, so we decided to give it a try one morning. Based on reviews, we were expecting a typical run-of-the-mill breakfast diner. The decor was actually quite nice--very light and sunny feeling--but that's about as much good as I can say about this place. I ordered the chorizo omelette. What arrived can only be described as what looked like a dirty diaper covered in diarrhea. Seriously, this omelette was the size of a Nerf football, drowning in a chili-pork sauce. Not only is this omelette massive and could easily feed two adults, it comes with a side of THREE PANCAKES (who can eat that much?!), which I substituted for hash browns. Once I cut into the omelette, a river of melted pepperjack cheese starting pouring out of it. I live in the South and I've had my fair share of gluttonous food, but this was just far too much cheese to be edible. At the very least, the hash browns were actually pretty decent. Soft on the inside, and nice and crispy on the outside. My boyfriend ordered a plain Belgian waffle, and what he was served was a sad, floppy frisbee. I have never seen a more depressing-looking waffle in my life. He bit into it, and immediately discovered it was raw on the inside. The waitress had the kitchen make another waffle (which took about 15 minutes; waffles take about 4 minutes to cook). Once it arrived, I tried a small piece and was overwhelmed with the taste of dense cardboard; these waffles are MADE FROM MIX. I guess they expect most people will drown their pancakes/waffles in whipped cream and toppings, so they can't taste how flat and bland their pancakes/waffles are. Someone from the kitchen came to our table to personally check in on us; he was actually quite polite and courteous (I think his name was Ken?), but we were already so discouraged by everything else, we already lost our appetite and just wanted to leave. How this is a successful chain of breakfast joints is beyond me. The portions are unrealistically massive, the pancakes/waffles are made from a bland mix, and the prices are just ridiculous for the quality of food served.

First of all, Fort Collins has a lot of breakfast places but this is by far the closest to us so we were very excited when this opened. We went to breakfast soon after it opened. Service was slow and the food was OK. Fast forward to yesterday. I called asking to place an order for pickup and was told they will not do that on weekends. Fair enough, so I asked if I came in could I just sit down and order food to go. I was told of course, no problem. I dragged the kids out to pick it up so we could surprise my wife with some breakfast in bed (without the normal cooking mess). We come in, I go up to order and they tell me "actually our kitchen is too busy." So I said, "well what if we wait, sit down, and order to go?" The response "I'm yeah no that's not going to work." I asked to speak to a manager; one comes over, doesn't even get close enough to speak and gives me the 'thumbs down' and walked away. The guy at the register then asks me to please go outside as the waiting room is really crowded. If I wanted to be abused but get good pancakes I would have just gone to snooze. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. For great service and food go to The Back Porch or Silver Grill. For bad service long waits but amazing food go to Lucille's or Snooze. In one word: Awful.

With the increase of breakfast places popping up all over Fort Collins, this place was highly recommended to us. We stopped by on a weekday morning for brunch and there was a short 5 minute wait. Our server must have had a bad day. She was short and somewhat rude. Our water stayed empty for most of the visit. When it came time for the check, there were no thank yous. Just a silent take and return of our card. Food was not exceptional. My chocolate chip pancakes were fine. The eggs were undercooked for "over medium." My boyfriend shared that his blueberry pancakes were also fine nothing amazing. With so much competition, I'd be hard pressed to return, especially with Doug's Day Diner across the street.

"OHOP," as I call it, can seem like your local hole-in-the-wall breakfast place before you realize it's part of a small chain that reaches more than half-way across the United States. This was my experience growing up with OHOP in Southern California. So, coming through Fort Collins on a coast-to-coast road trip, I had to try the local OHOP! I ordered the Corn Beef Hash with a side of Blueberry Pancakes (instead of the standard potato pancakes). The hash was delicious with its over-easy egg and potato, mixed with great corned brisket. The pancakes were the standard awesome sweet blueberry through-and-through, with the included warm blueberry compote making a world of contribution. The pancakes, my wife and I both noticed, are considerably smaller at this location than at others. Just something we noticed. A delicious breakfast. The coffee was standard, and on-point, refilled often. It's a darker roast but mellow and drinkable, good paired with the sweets here. The Original Pancake House offers a slice of that dependable old-fashioned Americana in a commercial strip mall that looks like its in Scottsdale, Arizona, or one of the million other locations where this exact type of development exists. The food is great and the service is always top-notch. A cup of orange juice, some coffee, pancakes and eggs.... "don't bother me."

Super sad to post this. We are regulars at OPH, my big family comes here at least once a week. Food is consistent, service is consistent and coffee is top notch. Not today. Super crappy service and management attempted to "make the situation better" but just irritated the situation more. I have never left a $0 tip before but I would have done a disservice to myself by leaving a tip. Nanette, please do better for your customers next time. 80% of business comes from repeat customers. This experience definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

First off, this place ain't cheap. Dreams of a deluxe breakfast with egg and bacon along side the world's best apple pancake were tempered with the reality of prices: $2 for an egg and $4.50 for bacon. Maybe I'm a little cheap, but I passed on the sides. Per the Apple Pancake - first off, it's not a pancake at all. it's a custard-like thing baked in the oven, about an inch and a half thick, and hotter than blazes (temp, not spice). I ejected my first bite just before my taste buds started to sizzle. After blowing on it, I returned said bite to mouth and...meh, the anticipation needle plummeted to zero as I realized the world's best apple pancake wasn't to be found here. A little more descriptive info would have been appreciated, starting with, "The pancake you're about to order is not a pancake." My wife's Georgia Pecan Pancakes were indeed pancakes, and delightful. The hot toasted pecans, powdered sugar and hot tropical syrup were perfect! Wonderful in every way, including portion. Her half order consisted of 3 nice sized cakes. Coffee was good. Cream was real. The restaurant is light, open, airy and tastefully decorated. The feng shui was a bit off, with bathrooms right in the middle of the dining area. Our table for two was wedged between a coffee cart and a busy corner, leaving us feeling squeezed in. "Only two of y'all? OK, we've got a nice, tight little spot right here." Service was great. Waitresses were attentive, prompt and cheerful. Bottom line, I'd go back to try the Dutch Baby or another variety of cake or waffle. But, given the prices, it'll be a once-in-a-while special occasion breakfast excursion.

I really rate this place 4 stars for food, but added one for great service all around, which it seems people may not have been getting when they first opened in FoCo and hence the bunch of low reviews on here.... Today everyone was friendly and efficient and did their job well despite a very busy (typical) Saturday morning rush. I've been to other OPHs and everything here, including service, was as good as the others. And yes, this one does have the long lines like the others too. Face it, you want good food, and so of course does everyone else. So yeah, be prepared to wait a little if you come at a popular breakfast/brunch time. As for the food, you will get amazing pancakes here in wide array that you can't easily get anywhere else. The Dutch Baby I've never seen anywhere else outside of Europe. Also love the sourdough, apple, swedish (with lingonberries!) and southern pecan cakes. Yummy! Just come here for the pancakes. The rest of the food is fine, but mostly overpriced for what you get. The bacon is a toss up... Super expensive but also super thick and delicious. I admit that I always seem to splurge on it anyway despite the price and I always enjoy it. Yet, still.... The price. Ouch.
(5)Stan C.
Disappointingly average. I've never been to this chain before, but the portions were small for the price, and the pancakes, rather than big and fluffy, are small. This isn't to say they aren't good, in my opinion they were very good, but the small portion is a bit of a bummer. The menu items are very traditional for the most part, the pancakes have good variety but nothing too unexpected (aside from specials such as the bacon pancakes, which sound awesome). Moving beyond that, the service was average as well. The waitress wasn't very welcoming, nor was she outright rude. There was nothing about the experience to make it stand out from any generic breakfast place, which for a restaurant that seems to pride itself on its "original-ness" doesn't seem very original at all. Service was also slow, but with a newer place that is to be expected. We also had to ask multiple times for missing ordered items and for cream/syrup, which you would think would be neccesities of a breakfast place. So there you have it, another "It's okay" Fort Collins restaurant. Try it out for yourself, but don't expect anything you haven't seen before.

Great new breakfast place in FoCo to start your day. I know they're well known for their pancakes (they are really good) but I was blown away by their hashbrowns. They are the best I've ever had! Just not a fan of the extra thick beef jerky bacon. Really love the clean retro feel and the Etch-a-Sketch for the kids. Plenty of helpful waitresses. Just wish they had Wi-Fi (Hint-Hint).
(4)Kristi M.
After reading many reviews, I decided to try this place twice before writing my own review to make sure it was consistent. I tried it on a weekend as well as a week day morning and had great experiences both times. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was great on each occasion and the fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious! I think sometimes people are quick to judge a restaurant when it's new and there are still kinks to be worked out. No, I don't think it's the BEST breakfast place in town, but I think it's one of the better ones on the south side of town. The concept (food + interior) is simplistic and worth giving a shot. Their menu is varied and seems to have something for all types of pallets. I prefer a spicy breakfast and really enjoyed the Texican. Also, for a girl who likes her coffee black, I definitely approved of their coffee. Give it a try and judge for yourself as the reviews seems extremely varied.

Good pancakes/gluten free options. Service a bit slow and portions huge- maybe too huge! Kid pancake would fill an adult! Will be back- very kid friendly!

When I first saw the sign go up, I was quite exited to see this chain come to town. Any place where you can get good pancakes is good in my book. I've visited three times since they have opened, and have yet to be impressed. I'll admit their Apple pancakes are really good, yet really expensive. That's a theme at OPH. The prices all seem a bit high for a breakfast place. While the variety of pancakes is wide, none seem exceptionally good. The other day my wife ordered scrambled eggs, which were awful, as it seemed they stayed under a heat lamp too long. The service is definitely on the slow side of things. On one visit (with the place maybe 1/3 full) it took forever to even place our order and even longer for it to show up. OPH is a disappointment and isn't high on my list of places to visit in the future.
(2)Brad W.
An update to my last review. We went back and the portion size on my favorite pecan pancakes was significantly larger this time. The bacon was still skimpy compared to others but the cakes were good. I'm not sure why the first visit portions were so small for my entire family....
(3)Karen T.
Had breakfast here with 5 friends we each had a different menu item and every single one of us loved our food. We even put together a plate to share so we could all sample each other's. I highly recommend trying OPH for any meal of the day! I happen to love the eggs Benedict.
(4)David G.
You will have difficulty finding a better breakfast chain then this. The pancakes see fluffy, the crepes are luscious, the bacon is thick and well-done. A bit expensive but certainly worth it. Get there before 830am on weekends or you'll wait an hour.
(4)Susan M.
Good place for kids, fairly quick meal, which is key with a group of small people. Food good, not amazing, extremely large portions...would suggest sharing!
(3)Cherie K.
Well, so disappointed. I had originally left a great review for this place and in most cases would average a good and bad review together but I'm afraid I won't be venturing to this establishment again. My husband has a dairy allergy and obviously, this is not a restaurant's fault...however, I will say that we've never left a restaurant because they have been unaccommodating, until today. Heck, we even go to the melting pot and THEY accommodate us. We have visited the Original pancake house in MN. many times and they've always been amazing. Today, we went and we're told that my husband could have poached eggs for breakfast. I asked them if they had oil to which they replied that they did but that they couldn't cook breakfast in it for him. He wanted eggs, hashbrowns and ham. So we left. We had to choice but to....unless he wanted poached eggs. They gave me my coffee for free...
(1)Shawn G.
A little pricey for breakfast, but food was really good. The apple pancake is ridiculously good:)
(4)Raygina K.
Overall it's not bad. I like the atmosphere and the service was good. We got three different half orders of pancakes to share, so that we could try several flavors. The bacon pancakes were my favorite. The Hawaiian were good, and the potato were not bad. Our main issue was the sizes. It wasn't anymore expensive than most breakfast places, but we left still sort of hungry.
(3)Aubrie N.
We were excited to try this new breakfast spot. And surprisingly disappointed. It's not a great place for kids, they don't have children's cups and served my kids water in glasses. We also ordered hot chocolate and my kids got ceramic mugs with glass plates. Haha disaster waiting to happen. I asked if they had any plastic cups and she had to go look, and was unable to find anything. The meals are overpriced for what you get and the pancake creations are not very creative. There is also no espresso machine, which is odd to me that a breakfast joint doesn't have an espresso machine. The service was ok as far as speed but the waitress was very inattentive to obvious things a server pays attention to. Bummer of a place as it could have been a cool new breakfast place in Fort Collins.
(1)Suellen` T.
While going on a Sunday morning, we didn't expect to wait 45 mins and then get undercooked eggs. The staff is overwhelmed and when busy, they don't check back. The waitress came with the bill so I couldn't get the eggs re cooked unless we wanted to wait for that and that was just not an option. We will try them again when they have been open a bit longer and definitely not on a Sunday morning at 9am. Hoping that they work things out as the menu reminds me of the ones I have visited before. For a first try, not a good showing.
(2)Greg S.
The best pancakes I've ever had. Buttermilk.. Keep it simple. Nice environment and good service. Great addition to southeast FoCo.
(5)Stacy T.
Very disappointing. This was my second visit. Gave it a second chance after a less than stellar experience last week during which I waited 25 min for breakfast in a 1/2 empty restaurant. Today--- slow service. One guest at my table received her entree 12 min before anyone else in our party. Server said nothing like it was a normal business practice! My entree arrived cold as did my friends. She sent her eggs back. They returned rubbery and microwaved. Server told us the heat was out in the kitchen so "food sits on the line and cools off before we have a chance to bring it out!" Ummmmm so bring it out faster!! No apologies, overpriced, pancakes no better than any other place. With so many options in ft collins I will not ever be returning to this one!
(1)Lynne H.
Food is way over priced. Unless you order plain pancakes you pay extra for bacon and eggs. It was two dollars for one egg and $5.20 for three pieces of bacon. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was nasty. It was very mushy it does come pre-mixed with peppers and onions. Unless you like your hash to taste like it was out of the can you're better off going to snoozethey have excellent hash there. Pancakes were fine The eggs I had them scrambledthey turned out goodbut when they took my meal they took my eggs. The new eggs I got were nasty and had a strange aftertaste reminiscent of some kind of cleaner. My husband ordered a special with chorizo hash browns egg and he got a biscuit. The biscuit was extremely dry. They forgot to put jalapenos in the meal. Service was fine. But the food wasn't great. If you're looking for a great breakfast and want some pancakes go to snooze. It's worth the wait I think even IHOP could do better than this. If you want to fantastic meal go to Lucilles.

My family and I stopped in the Original Pancake House because our hotel was in the same shopping center. We were seated immediately when we arrived and my son was able to snag a hangman game in the lobby to take to the table. The waitress was courteous and took our order promptly. It seemed like a bit of a wait but we kept ourselves entertained with the hangman game. The atmosphere was clean, modern, and fresh. We arrived at the restaurant shortly before its afternoon closing and I was happy to see the waitresses were very busy keeping the establishment clean since there were few customers. I tend to assume that if the wait staff cleans when not waiting then the kitchen staff cleans when not cooking and this makes me happy. They were also very good at cleaning without being disruptive or intrusive on our space. The pancakes were excellent! The pecan pancakes were the best I have ever had. I will return.
