Great lunch place. And you must try the persian pastries which melt in your mouth. Everything is fresh and tasty.

This place is good! I got a breakfast sandwich and it was great. Service was very friendly and fast. Support this awesome local business!

Stopped by during the Erie Town Fair and really liked their Bagel Sausage Sandwich. I went back again for the sausage but this time got it with spaghetti, once again it was phenomenal. Slightly off the beaten path, but totally worth the drive. They also have some exceptionally great art throughout the restaurant.

This restaurant is brand new. The menu is standard breakfast/brunch/lunch. Grab a bagel and coffee before work, or stop in for a full breakfast. The soup of the day is always unexpected and delicious. The lentil soup is the best I've had anywhere! You can also purchase traditional Persian pastries, cookies and candies baked fresh by the owner. The jams they use are homemade as well and are available for purchase along with being served with your meal. My favorite is the carrot jam.

This is by far the best breakfast place in Erie, CO. The owner is extremely welcoming and friendly. The food is always perfect. The service is very fast. The homemade jam and homemade pastries are the best I have ever tried. Try the walnut pastry or some of the homemade sausage. Bakery is onsite. Excellent!

This place is AWSOME! The food is wonderful and the service is real and personal. It is really a step into Persia. The Italian and American food is wonderful but the Persian pastries are simply superb. They have gluten free pastries that just went completely above and beyond anything I have had before. When you go there please try the mulberry pastries they are not actually berries or made from them but are made out of almonds sugar and rose water. When you taste them it is like eating what roses smell like! Go there!=) it is a small hole in the wall but is AMAZING!

I was visiting Erie and checked this place out. It appears to be located in the downstairs of an apartment building. Thank goodness there are tall signs outside, but the signs are on Cheeseman St, not on Briggs St. It's cute and homey, the food is fabulously fresh and yummy (I had the Philly Cheesesteak and the salad had homemade dressing!) The owner and his wife are SOOO friendly! I love that! It was uncrowded during lunch and I don't know why. The whole place has a very welcoming vibe and the desserts are fabulous as other reviewers have mentioned. A must try!

We stopped by the Briggs Street Cafe for the first time this past weekend. The food was excellent! Home made spaghetti and meatballs, noodles and all. My kids even finished their's, which is amazing. We also tried the pastries which made the experience all the better. The service was top notch. Very friendly! Yes, the location is a bit odd, but food will make you a believer.

I loved finding this little basement cafe while visiting the Boulder area. When I first rolled into the small town of Erie at the start of a week long stay, I was a bit worried about breakfast options as I did not want to spend time cooking AT ALL. Found Briggs Street through Yelp and was very happy I did. My husband and I visited for breakfast twice during week. The cafe end is small, but there appeared to be a meeting/banquet room opposite the cafe area that would be great for casual social/club meetings. The place was very clean and the husband/wife team attentive to asking about your food preferences. In general, the breakfast foods are standard items made well....big, fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs the way YOU want them, tasty home fries, FANTASTIC coffee. The pleasure is in the details. Go for the Persian bread toast. The bread is made in-house and is excellent. Much better than standard toasted bread. Smear it up with the variety of house-made, to-die-for jams and you have a little slice of breakfast heaven. Loved the pumpkin jam so much, I bought a jar to bring back to NC. Also picked up a jar of wonderful quince jam that the whole family is enjoying. The jams are so tasty that I am thinking about contacting the owner to have the other nonstandard varieties shipped to me that I foolishly didn't pick up while there.

The search for decent food in Erie continues. The Permanent Piece and I realized this restaurant existed, so gave it a try yesterday. In spite of the fact that for most of our time there, we were the only customers, the service was haphazard. But the owners are so nice, that can be forgiven. The man enjoyed the breakfast calzone quite a bit. Interesting menu item to be sure. Against my instincts, I ordered biscuits and gravy and can only say this - avoid the biscuits and gravy.

Excellent place! Finally somewhere good to eat in downtown Erie. Highly worth the visit. Bery good sausage and peppers sandwich and calzone.

Had lunch here once. What I ordered is only a dim memory now, but a delicious one. Quaint, inexpensive, peaceful, and the owner is lovely. They have a banquet room, so maybe he does parties? Not sure. All I know is I can't wait to go back. Stop in if you're in Erie!

Interesting atmosphere and service. The food was good. I wouldn't want to be there when they are busy as it took awhile and we were the only ones there.

This is a solid, adorable, local place to get a really filling yummy meal. We went for breakfast on a Sunday. There were several locals. As others have mentioned, it's a bit hard to find, so be aware of that going into it. The owner is a most gracious host. He constantly checked on us, worried if I was too cold (he turned up the heat), asked another woman at another table if she didn't like her food (she responded that she doesn't eat bread). I had a pretty standard eggs-bacon-potatoes breakfast. The potatoes had rosemary on them and were to die for. Not too greasy, very flavorful! My fiance had the breakfast calzone with jalapenos and bacon, and he loved it. The persian bread and jams, as others have mentioned, are really delicious. It's an adorably mom and pop restaurant and we'll probably be back soon for another great breakfast.

Great little place in Old Town Erie. Perfect for breakfast or lunch. Cozy atmosphere with good food. Great for a cup of coffee.

We really wanted to find a place for a good quick meal close to home and went here for breakfast. It was a bit odd being the only customers, but the owner was very friendly and the food was better than I expected. It has a Persian flare (don't let that scare you away) we had the homemade flat bread and jellies which were really good. My wife had the bagel sandwich which she liked and I had a normal eggs, potatoes, and sausage breakfast- good but I liked the bagel sandwich better. The portions were normal, service was great, cost was better than other places nearby. I'd give them more stars if they had a kids menu, and didn't serve kids milk in a real glass (makes me nervous with a kid who is just leaning). 4th star is because of the close location and being a place we would go back to again.

I had lunch here and it was excellent. The service was great and the food was really good. I will definitely be coming back.

Visiting town and decided to try this place based on the reviews from yelp. Quiet little place in The basement not to hard to find. The owners are very sweet and provide excellent service though out your meal. I believe the wife cooks and husband serves. The portions are just right- not to big. Today's soup was a sweet butternut squash served with flat bread that was delicious. And all the salad dressings are home made along with the jams and Persian pastries. We also had an order of biscuits and gravy that tasted okay. The gravy was on the watery side and resembles more of a soup. My review is more based on the service. I would recommend trying it if you are in the area.
(4)David K.
Had breakfast there today and really enjoyed the food and the service. Both the buttermilk and rice pancakes were delicious and the persian tea was great! Although the address is 698 Briggs St. the entrance and signs are actually on Cheeseman St. Looking forward to having lunch there.

Good little find! Food was excellent and service was good too! Small simple breakfast menu with very good baked good.

We live in Erie and hate that there are so few restaurants. The food and service was excellent when we visited today. I had a ham and mushroom omelet and it was excellent. The potatoes are absolutely wonderful. My husband had the basic eggs, potatoes, and sausage and he said it was perfect. The atmosphere was comfortable and our waiter (I believe he is the owner with his wife) had a great sense of humor. We will definitely return just for the chance to joke around with him and for the excellent food. Residents of Erie, Lafayette, and Louisville, please do not let this restaurant go out of business due to the lack of it.

Great atmosphere great service very clean one of the best calzones I think me and my son of ever ate would recommend to everyone to come down here and try. Coming back later with my wife to try some of Persian cuisine,..

I stopped in for an afternoon cup of coffee and a quiet place to work on my computer, but was unable to resist the special they had on breakfast bagel sandwiches. I later found out that they specialize in Persian cuisine, which was a pleasant surprise. I love Persian food and was glad to find there's a place closer to me than Broomfield or Boulder. It also explained the wonderful aroma in the restaurant and the flavorful seasoning on the breakfast bagel sandwich. The restaurant is located in the garden level of the building at the southeast corner of Briggs and Cheesman, so it was a little hard for me to find, and it's not the ideal cafe for working on a computer, but it is nonetheless cozy and worthy of my recommendation -- delicous food and very pleasant staff.

Stopped in on a Sat afternoon (6/21/14) for lunch. So happy we did! Odd little basement restaurant, but very clean and one of the owners was quick to invite us to sit wherever we'd like. Service was spot on and friendly. My breakfast was cooked just as ordered and I got to try two of their homemade jams, watermelon and carrot. Yes, carrot. I bought one it was that good. My husband enjoyed his lasagna and we both liked the Persian pastries and carrot cake! If you're in the area, this is worth the stop. Next time we head up to visit family, we'll be sure to stop in...

We did not have a great food experience here. Granted, we did not get any of the specialties, and maybe that's why. However, I firmly believe that if you put it on your menu, it should be good and that does not seem to be the case with everything on the menu at Briggs. I got a breakfast calzone and it was just weird for me. Eggs in pizza dough and served with a side of marinara seemed good on paper, but in reality it was just an odd combination. It was okay, but nothing great. Not really judging them on this, since there was nothing technically wrong, it was just an odd dish. My husband's meal was awful. He got the steak sandwich, and I'm not sure that the owners understand what Philly cheese steak is. He was served thinly sliced, grisly roast beef with very obviously cheap and rubbery slices of American cheese, probably Kraft singles or similar. Again, served with marinara. The roast beef was so fatty that he couldn't even eat it, I'm talking globs of white fat everywhere. We both ended up sharing the egg-zone. Owners were nice, place was clean, but I really was unimpressed with the food. Won't be going there again.

Absolutely fantastic. Not sure on outside when pulled in it inside is clean and nice. Had a Persian dish with walnuts and ground beef - oh wow, fantastic flavor and fabulous combination. The squash soup was so warm, spicy and comforting. However, leave room for the pastries we had the coconut cookie and the nazook. Warm, spicy like a coffee cake roll. Mint iced tea to wrap it all up in a bow. Great meal and great service. So fabulous. Bring friends and a healthy appetite.

Hard to find but worth the trip. We had breakfast and you would typically think nothing special. They had homemade sausage, the hash browns were delicious. Owner was super nice and attentive. Love these little hole in the wall places. Good job yelp reviewers.

Good food, good prices. Atmosphere was a little sketchy but if that doesn't scare you you'll love it.

Family went for Sunday breakfast. Waited to get menu, waited to give order, really waited to get food and after asking for check, waited 15 minutes before found waiter chatting with friends up front. Then he asked me to tell him what we ordered so he could make the bill. Food not great either.
(1)Milmar R.
Nice owner but food not worth the price. $5.99 for two small, thin and chewy pancakes... No way!. A ONE egg omelette with a slice of Kraft American Cheese???... With a side of tasteless hash browns. For 8.99 if I recall right. If I'm going out on a Sunday morning for breakfast I expect better portions and something extra that I wouldn't have at home. I don't mind paying more for a terrific breakfast but definitely felt taken advantage of with this terrible breakfast. Terrible bathroom smell once you step inside the restaurant and a wide open bathroom door and full view of its interior is the first thing you see once you walk in inside this place. I truly wish this would have been a better experience. Left hungry and with no desire to go back.

What a random hole in the wall place. I was a little confused by the menu as it was a hodgepodge of various items. The burger I got was excellent though. The bread it was toasted on was delicious! My daughter had a pancake and ate the whole thing. They would probably attract more customers if they had a theme to the food.

I enjoyed my breakfast here...and it's only 5 minutes away from home! I spoke to the husband much of my time there and he was great conversation. They are kind people for sure. I had some meal with eggs, sausage, and flatbread with homemade pumpkin jelly. The sausage was different...a good different and quite savory. Either it had lamb in it or was spiced as lamb...but I liked it! I will return to try other things on the menu. Especially the Persian ethnic items!
(5)Camille C.
Great little Mom & Pop place. They serve Persian and American food that are both worth a try. My favorite part of eating there were the homemade dressings and jams served with Persian flatbreads (A+). I had the soup of the day, butternut squash, and the squash used to make the soup was sitting on the counter so it was fresh. The owner was friendly but was working alone so our drinks weren't filled all the time and he didn't remember our individual orders when serving us. Just give him a friendly reminder and you'll be in good shape.

I was working on my PhD thesis and collecting samples outside when it started pouring down rain. I jumped in my car and started driving around looking for shelter at a nearby coffee shop. I parked at Briggs and ran inside only to find it was closed. However, the owner took pity on me (maybe because I was seven months pregnant.. Ha) and invited me in until the storm passed. Although the kitchen was closed, the owner turned on all the lights and made me tea and several desserts. Not only was he an amazing host but the food was delicious! I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. My only regret is that I don't live closer.

Very good food. Good bread. Good jams. People running this place we're so attentive and friendly.

Place is a tiny hole in the wall, kind of reminds me of an upper scale truck stop. Food is average, service is good and prices are very appropriate for the portion sizes. Not a bad place by any means, just nothing to rave about.
