Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This restaurant is outstanding!! They really make you feel welcome!! The food is fabulous, from the Pizza to the Nightly specials (hand picked mushrooms) that morning in your Homemade Pasta dish that night! Cocktails were made perfect! We were a party of 8, all the food was hot and service was Awesome! My husband had the Pork Chop, totally recommends it. We loved it so much we went back the next night. Enjoy!

Pretty good restaurant overall, food is tasty, great atmosphere. Went there with my family and we enjoyed the place. Foods to try: ravioli, Halibut.

We walked in without a reservation on a bustling Saturday night. The hostess was very nice and situated us in the large bar to wait. We had a delicious thin crust pizza and glass of wine on comfy couches. Dinner was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Will return soon.

Let me say first disclose that the two friends I dined with at Zino's were very pleased with their meals (wild boar with bolognese sauce and a linguini seafood entree) but the braised wild boar that I had was bland beyond belief (my friends agreed)--stay away. A note about the service; it had the feel of a team of 20 something's with forced smiles and gratuitous comments serving up to old Vail valley wealth whom, for the most part, seemed to eat it up.

Best food in town hands down. One of the cooks named Johan is unbelievable!! Highly recommend! Every one from the owner to the servers are excellent!

Seriously, no one has reviewed this place??!?!?! Alright, well I should begin by saying that I have lived in Italy, so I have high standards for Italian food. This place delivered. Stand outs: helpful waiters, decent wine list, salads, soups, gnocchi (lamb bolognese), their antipasti, and their desserts (we had a solid tiramisu--not the best ever, but still, very good). We were told that during the warmer months, they have outdoor seating overlooking the river. Che Bella! The best meal I have had in the Vail/Avon/Edwards area.

They really are top notch, and what a nice surprise in this area when most restaurants are highly over rated. Our server was so attentive, and on more than one occasion I saw her head for us, but picked up on some behavior of someone in our party and backed off until a more appropriate moment. Other times she'd show up as if she were reading our minds. Our party of four split three appetizers, three entrees, and two desserts along with two bottles of wine (a Gavi and a Nebbiolo - both terrific). The Burrata and Fonduta appetizers (on the regular menu) were fabulous, and the special which was an octopus carpaccio with capers and sundried tomato.. The main courses consisted of Cinghiale (wild board with gorgonzola - outstanding; braised rabbit gnocchi - excellent; and the outstanding special (mussels). We are used to outstanding restaurants, and are often underwhelmed when we travel to resorts that claim to have special places that really fall short. Would love to have a Zinos in Washington, D.C. (which we kind of do of course by another name). Highly recommend.

What a great place! We've eaten here numerous times and always have a great experience, whether for a quick bite or a special occasion. As other reviews have said, the food is excellent and the wine list is enough to satisfy any palate! Some of the best pizza in town, hands down.
(5)Marilyn M.
This restaurant has an ambitious menu which works some of the time. The appetizer with polenta, melted assagio cheese a topped by a poached egg was marvelous. Try it.
(4)Juliet R.
Great, great food! Really nice ambiance and friendly staff. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but definitely try the burrata and fungi pizza. Delish! A must go! Can't wait to come back for the halibut saltinbucca, they ran out as we sat down..
(5)Mike B.
Great food, atmosphere and service.
(5)David M.
Very good Italian food with a large, fairly priced wine list, and prices set 10-20% below its Vail counterparts, make this place an absolute Eagle County winner. The OK, but not exceptional service kept this place firmly in the 4 star category of an excellent but not totally knock-your-socks-off restaurant. The owner's the same guy who runs Sweet Basil, one of Vail's best restaurants, and the food prep rocks. Had one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had outside of Italy at Zino's: a fettucine dish made with freshly picked local chanterelle mushrooms and enough lobster to more than satisfy, served in a light cream, garlic, sherry and butter sauce. Seriously OMG incredible. Would definitely go back.

We showed up at 9pm and were the only table - Zino stayed open for us. We had a wonderful meal (house made pasta was awesome), good wine, friendly staff, and great environment. When apologized when leaving and they said "no worries, we're happy to server. We're all friends and love hanging out here to serve you". It was great. Will return on my next Vail trip.
(5)Laura A.
Very good meal! Would have given 5 stars but the service was a bit lackluster. I had the Burrata and Maiale, which were both fantastic. I also got to try the Tagliata, which was amazing. I wish I had ordered it! We definitely would try it again if we are in the area.
(4)Andy K.
Went on a busy Tuesday night for mussel mania. the place was very crowded even during off season. The mussels are the best in the vail valley and at 50% off a real steal. We also had sides of Brussel sprouts and they were fantastic. Go here instead of the overpriced village restaurants. It can be pricey but its worth it and its about 25% less than restaurants in Beaver Creek Village.
(5)Chris V.
I'd give it 3.5, but it's not an option and my teachers never rounded up so I don't either. Bartender Janelle greeted us with a genuine kindness promptly and was additionally exuberant about the food offerings. We started with the house made Burrata which was great, however the accompaniments were pedestrian and the roasted tomatoes were overcooked. Perhaps a tomato balsamic jam and basil pesto would be better. For our mains we had the breaded pork with Brussels sprouts. Dish was good however ordered medium came well done. Additionally we had the sausage pizza. Cooked nicely with a thin crust, arrived cold. Like not warm at all. Chefs could use work on timing tables perhaps as this has almost always been the case. Dessert was of course tiramisu. Again a pedestrian dish with way too much booze. On the contrary the pastry chef is delivering an excellent house made bread selection especially the cherry tomato one!! Overall a good place to enjoy a more contemporary Italian meal. We will be back.

Great service, even better food and an extensive wine list. The salads were so different and delicious! A bit of chicken or fish and this could have been my main course. I had the ORTOLANA - Grilled Portobello, Roasted Squash, Artichokes, Oven Dried Tomatoes, Beet Vinaigrette, Parmigiano, Truffle Oil. It was dressed perfectly and the flavors were amazing! I normally don't like "meaty" fish, but the swordfish is a dish I would have again.....and again...... . Again, the flavors were so different, yet delicious. The puttenesca sauce and chickpea spread made it. Zino is not only hip (my "coolness" factor went up 2 notches just being there), but has the quality service and food one would expect while dining out.
(5)Caroline H.
Our first time at Zino and loved it!!! Look forward to going back with our kids and playing bocce ball on the beautiful patio. Buratta and homemade pastas were delicious. Waitstaff was excellent. What a perfect spot in Edwards!
(5)Amy H.
As other reviewers have said, the food is excellent and the wait staff genuinely friendly and attentive. We always have trouble finding good vegetarian food in the area, so were delighted to see so many great options available, and the server offered even more that could be specially prepared. The salads were unbelievably delicious, and our entrees - pizza and ravioli - were very good as well. We wish we had saved room for the tantalizing desserts, but will just have to make a trip back! The restaurant is beautifully appointed and really unique in the way it's decorated and laid out. It was definitely quite loud - a boisterous Friday night - and the tile floor, stone or window walls, and high ceiling really amped up the overall volume. So, if you're looking for a quiet, romantic evening this might not be the spot. We made a reservation through Yelp with Open Table and it couldn't have been easier and more seamless. A great experience from start to finish!

Tuesday mussel night is super. Their pizza is over-rated.

Food, service, ambience, value....awesome. My favorite place!!!!! Great Happy Hour with $10 pizzas and discounted mussels, very good. Enjoy the atmosphere a lot.

Gotta go to Zino's. Love the food & house wines are great. I had mushroom pasta & asparagus salad. Nick, the chef, is very creative. We'll go back. Server Kelsy is just in from New England, excited for winter and very attentive. The host Katy answered all our questions about diet restrictions, was very pleasant and seated us quickly. Thanks again for a memorable evening.
(5)Melanie O.
Great restaurant. Food was fantastic, I had the ribeye special and my husband had the carbonara. Service was impeccable, especially our waitress Nicole. Highly recommend!!

Tuesday Special $6.00 muscles, large bowl, tastes great

I was in town for work and stayed at Riverwalk In. Zino is sort of attached to the same building structure. Based on reviews, I decided to give it a try. I came in late in the evening around 8:30pm and sat at the bar. The Bartender was super friendly and nice; he made couple of recommendations on food and suggestions for wine. He was very attentive and checked on water, wine, and food regularly. I ordered Asparagi salad which was one of the best salads I've eaten. Excellent quality - fresh greens, perfectly poached egg, and super tasty dressing. Yes, it was expensive for a small portion but this is Edwards/Beaver Creek, and everything is expensive in the mountains. I ordered Margherita pizza, wood-fired with Buffalo mozarella. All the ingredients were perfect. The sauce was well balanced, the dough was very tasty and well made, and combination of the basil and mozarella made a quiet addicting meal. Highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely return here for delicious, well made Italian food.
(5)Mark B.
Great place, great service, great food. Get the pork chop! Actually everyone really like what they ordered. We were in Vail for 5 nights and everyone agreed this was our favorite dinner.
(5)Jack T.
We ordered the Salcicia pizza and the boar bolognese ragou with angel hair pasta instead of the fettuccine. My wife said "oh my God, this is so good" to both dishes. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant from all aspects including ambience and service not to mention the excellent food. Our server was Amanda, who was both friendly and gracious. I am normally quite critical especially for my favorite type of restaurants - Italian. This is my second opportunity to have dinner here, I came once last year while skiing in Vail and made it a point to drive from Vail to Edwards for this dinner this evening. This being the case, please come and get Zeno's an opportunity to also impress you.

Food - 5* Service - 5* Ambience - 5* I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! We come here every time I'm out visiting the Vail Valley and my parents frequent this restaurant as they live just above Edwards. I always try something different and have yet to be disappointed. You MUST try one of the burrata dishes, they make it at the restaurant and it's so creamy and delish. Another must have is the asparagus starter with egg. I have had several pasta dishes, the veal meatball, ragu, and calm pastas are all incredible. Their pizza is also not to be missed, a perfect crispy crust and fresh and simple ingredients. The restaurant is located right on the river, which makes for such a nice ambience. There is a place set up to play bocci ball outside which can be a fun way to start the evening before sitting down for dinner, just make sure you call ahead to see if it's available. If not, it's still fun to watch! It is nice and open so even if you're seated inside, it is still easy to hear everyone in your party and never gets too loud! Every time we come we have knowledgable and fun, friendly servers which just adds to the great experience.

The food is so good, Everything on the menu, which changes seasonally. Good atmosphere, always busy. Chef Nick is the best and I could talk with him for hours about food. It's classic and delicious Italian food. We get to-go food frequently and it's just as good as if we where in the restaurant, except we have to serve ourselves. This restaurant is definitely a must if your visiting, and always on our list of "where should we eat tonight "
(5)Mark O.
Ambience and appetizing in Edwards. I loved the service. Started with homemade burrata topped with artichoke pesto and crispy sage leaf. Burrata melts in your mouth. Main was the ravioli. I will be back tomorrow to check out the rest of the menu.
(5)Jennifer L.
Zino is a great upscale option. The off season special was great. I had the pistachio crusted Sea Bass. Yum! Our server, Nicole, was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Great option for a date night or to meet friends for an app and drink in the bar.
(5)Alex C.
Fantastic happy hour with the best pizza and ambiance in town. The Mediterranean and the peach-prosciutto pizzas are truly amazing. I'm not overly convinced on the dinner menu, totally hit or miss, avoid the gnocchi! But undoubtedly our go too for happy hour!
(4)Christina L.
The homemade pasta really stood out to me at Zino. It was so light and tasty. I tried it on the Short Rib Fettuccini and couldnt get enough. The muscles must have been very good because I was brave enough to try them for the first time and loved them. The restaurant is great for groups, romantic dates and even, yes, even kids. They actually treat kids very nice here and will after to their little whims, like when my son asked for a sausage pizza with the sausage on the side. Don't miss coming here when you are in Vail, you will not be disappointed.

Upon Arrival: Walking into Zino always brings a smile to my face. This extremely popular Vail Valley restaurant is one of few that has truly got it right in my opinion. We entered and were immediately greeted by the same hostess who always seats us. Then we walked down to our table in the main dining room downstairs. The outdoor seating was booked (on a Monday night)! The décor is very trendy, but in a very classy way. You feel at home, even though the ceilings are 30ft tall. Our initial waitress was very crabby, which I had never experienced at this venue before (write that off as a fluke). We decided to move to a table outside once there was an opening which was much more comfortable. Food: I will never have a problem with the food at Zino. They make their own pasta, burrata/mozzarella, and brick oven pizza every day. The burrata they make is the best traditional burrata I have ever had. For my main entrée this time I had a "carbonara pizza." Normally I have a pasta dish but decided to switch it up. Their food is truly incredible; fresh, delicious, and simple. Food Rating: 4.8/5 Overall Experience: Overall I think Zino is a must for anyone looking for great food, great ambience, and easy simplicity while still dining at a five star restaurant in the Vail Valley.

My family has been coming here for years and were treated like family. The food is amazing and the wine, beer, specialty cocktail list is incredible. The staff is always friendly and they won't hesitate to make a special order. I have recommended Zino's to all who ask where to munch on some fine dining. I have even witnessed someone who's stomach was upset and was scared to "lose" their meal so they made them this beautiful plate of chicken and veggies done with minimal seasoning so their patron would enjoy!
(5)Jane S.
We are locals who arrived on Sat nite. Sat at the Bar. Not busy. Asked bartender to see the happy hour menu. "Can't i get you a drink first?", he said. OK, i thought. I wil go with your program. Ordered wine and a pizza. Our pizza deliverd to the couple next to us. Their pizza came out delivered to us. We all realized the mistake. I asked bartender for a clean plate. He gave me a look like, "really?" Bartender apologies for pizza mistake to couple next to us and says he'll rush our pizza and leaves the bar. We get eye contact from female bartender who pays attention and refreshes drinks. Co-owner asks us how we liked our pizza. Great, we said, and explained the mix up and mentioned the bartender was the worst. Everything down hill from there. Nothing comped. Only yet another apolgy from the bartender and a wet wimpy handshake. we will not go back. There are too many other great places to eat in Edwards.
(1)Gertrude T.
You can't beat a beautiful fall day on the Zino patio. Great atmosphere, fantastic food. I've eaten here a few times and always left stuffed. Try not to fill up on the bread even though you'll really want to. The service staff isn't always "on it" but they are always friendly.
(4)KAREN B.
Nice ambiance, great service and food. Enjoyed the sangria - just the way I like it, not too sweet. The complimentary breads with balsamic vinegar and oil were tasty. We ordered the spinach salad and cioppino. Both were very good. It's not the best Italian food we've ever had, but certainly hit the spot.
(4)MC C.
What's up w Yelp that I cannot give Zino's 6 stars??!!! From our bartender, Justin, and the smart, friendly waitstaff, to the open, warm architectural layout of this eatery, and the delectable menu offerings, this place rips the foody pants off any other local eatery. (I, too, cannot believe the dearth of super-poz Yelp reviews.) I've eaten here at least 5 times, and have never been disappointed. My big draw originally was Zino's happy-hour specials advertised in the Vail Daily. How can you beat $6 for a pile of savory, steamed mussels with a warm lemony dipping sauce (which we then used for our delicious bread)?! And that special went all night Tuesday... And then, of course are the 6-7 different 12" pizza offerings, already a bargain at around $16, with fresh local mushrooms, mouth-watering mozzarella, arugula, exotic salumi, prosciutto, etc... But during happy hour, until 6:30, grab one for $10 !!! And during H.H., the well drinks are only $5, the drafts ( like my beau's Ranger IPA, was $3.50, and my fab, generous mojito was $7. Believe it or not, I've also eaten their fab regular menu offerings, and never been disappointed. Soooo, get your butt to this place before anybody else does!!! I love their food.
(5)Kevin B.
Great place. Right out our hotel (not as great). We got a good Pinot and my risotto was top notch.
(4)Whitney R.
Excellent food. Service was slow and inattentive overall.
(3)Charles Neil R.
We liked the atmosphere, great service (Heather), loved watching the open kitchen, and the food was good too. Their in house made ricotta is wonderful. The single-ravioli app. was a wonderful idea (very soft cooked egg inside) and executed well but was a bit too light in flavour. The special soup (Pumpkin with ginger) was loved by my wife as well as the different style of risotto (not basmati). My main course ravioli was very nice and a little brighter in flavour. Dessert: apple tart - yummy; gellato trio - pretty good. But, what?!?! no tiramisu!!
(4)Jason M.
Let me preface this by saying that I've grown up in a family of a commercial fisherman with many Italian family friends. Overall the food is very good and the service is attentive. We ordered the Fritto misto for a first course and it was very good. The spicy marinera sauce was very tasty but the curry sauce could have been left off the plate. Then I ordered the seafood linguini which had a fantastic flavor but I cannot forgive overbooking seafood especially lobster. And my lobster was so overbooked I almost mistook it for rubber in a tomato sauce. But aside from that the rest if my party's dinner was very good. The veal picatta, gnocchi, and roasted chicken were exicuted very well and for that I give 4 stars, especially for Colorado. If this place were in LA it'd be 3 stars. I have to admit that I am partly a bit perturbed by the fact that at the end of the meal the waiter came to clear the table and knocked over my glass of wine, which spilt onto one of my guests. Our only consolation was an "I'm sorry" and two free espresso drinks. Do I even need to mention the fact that this was a $75 dollar bottle of wine and spilling 1/4 of it is worth more than two coffee drinks not to mention the dry cleaning bill... I will say no more. To conclude, the service started well but ended unfavorably. But to judge the place on food alone, it is worthy of 4 stars as long as you don't order anything with lobster.
