Came in a little before closing. Place was packed. Sat at the bar. Bartender was very nice, but a little aloof. Not a worry, she was very nice and accommodating. Seafood Hot & Sour Soup: The seafood was cooked perfectly! No rubber. The flavors blended seamlessly. Lamb Satay: Overcooked, not very flavorful. I'd forgo this. Orange Beef: Highly recommended! Not what I would have ordinarily ordered (my buddy did), but would think about ordering next time I go. Moo Shu Pork: Amazing! I always order this when available. (Guess I'm addicted to burritos) Possibly the best I've ever had! UPDATE: While I love the food, the service is awful! Food takes a long time, they are always out of what I want (crispy duck), and the dining room seems to always be in a state of disarray.

Do not go to this establishment. The owner or managers have issues and do not treat people with respect or dignity. In this day and age there is no room for bigotry, hate or general stupidity.

We loved Henry's! We arrived to our condo just in time for dinner. Hungry after a long drive, we checked yelp for restaurants in Edwards. Boy, did we hit the jackpot! Everything we ordered was delicious and the wait staff was helpful and the service was fast. In less than a week, we have eaten there twice. Without a doubt, we will stop by on our next visit to the Beav!!

Best chinese/thai food in valley. Awesome lunch specials.

This place has awesome food, by far my boyfriend and my favorite place to eat in the valley. But ONLY because the food is so good. It's legitimately like Henry hired incompetent idiots on purpose...and theyre rude. Henry is actually pretty friendly and he does happen to do a great job serving when we have had him ...but every single other waiter/waitress weve had has been god awful. And not just like from time to time because we go there once or twice every week. He would get a lot better reviews if he didn't employ dumbasses. But seriously the food is awesome.

Better than a strip mall Chinese place, but nothing fantastic. Came in for lunch on a weekday. They have Chinese and a few Thai dishes. Servers were friendly, food came up fast, even got us something off menu for my toddler. I had spicy basil tofu which had a strong basil flavor, which I like. Everyone else at the table was satisfied with their meal. Good value for lunch.

Henry's does what May Palace, Asian Spice Bistro and all the other mid-range Chinese joints in the valley wish they could. Lunch, 8 bucks, hot, fresh and damn good. Their little veggie egg rolls are the bomb. Henry's is clean, the kitchen is not hidden and every dish I have ever had was fresh and distinctive. It just feels like their is more TLC in the dishes than you get with the competition. Once you go Henry's, you never go back. Next time you are thinking about May Palace, give Henry's a try; you'll thank me.

I wish I could give less than one star. We arrived on an average night. We were seated and taken care of by our kind waitress. We ordered immediately after sitting down as we had all been there before with great experiences. We ordered 3 apps and 3 meals. Easy. While waiting we noticed a number of people placing take out orders and getting their meals and leaving. 35 minutes passed before we got our apps. We then began the waiting game. 8 people walked in placed an order and were served and gone and we hadn't heard a thing about or meals. We asked the waitress who said they had a lot of to go orders and the kitchen was told to handle them first. After an hour and twenty minutes of overall wait time, we decided to leave. We asked for the check. With the check we were brought the to go lo mein my sister ordered 30 minutes after our original order to take home to her boyfriend. Yea, that was done. Awful. We said we didn't want that and wanted to ask a manager what the deal was. Henry, the owner, yelled at us. Yelled at the waitress and yelled at my sister when another patron who had been waiting almost as long asked what the deal was. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. who yells at staff on the floor? And patrons? The food may be good....but it's really not much better than any other Chinese establishment. Go someplace the owner isn't a hot tempered jerk. Ugh.

Why has no one given props to this place? The lack of good asian restaurants anywhere in a 40 mile radius is insane. This place is clean, good prices and actually very good. One of the best lunch deals in the area. Go here and then help me find indian or vietnamese food in the area.

I've heard many things about Henry's, all of them being good. About 80 minutes into my stay at the restaurant, I noticed something very strange. Aside from still having no food on my table, I noticed Henry very quickly bringing out boxes upon boxes of takeout orders. This had been the routine all evening. I asked our waitress, "Why are all of the people coming in after us for takeout orders receiving their food before us?" Her response was "That's the way the kitchen is run." In an odd twist of fate, the takeout order we placed 30 minutes after our original order was given to us before any of our other main course food. It's a whole 12 hours later and I still don't think I would've had my food by now. We asked to speak to Henry and he was very rude. He then started yelling at the waitress in front of all the customers. Which is not the way you conduct a proper business. Bottom line is, the restaurant should be first come, first served. It was terrible that no less than 12 takeout orders were accommodated before ours. There is Absolutely no excuse for that. None. Gordon Ramsey would've had a field day with Henry. I am now forever boycotting Henry's. I'm not a picky diner, but making me wait 80 minutes for a meal is not acceptable.

There IS nothing special about the food at Henry's. Service was OK.

  • Martina M.

My husband and I had dinner there after long day of skiing in Beaver Creek. The food was good and tasty, and the portions were huge. We shared an appetizer - wontons filled with cheese (it was ok) and two main entrees: Pad Thai (I've had better one but my husband really liked it) and Henry's Spicy Eggplant ( I absolutely loved that dish). Would go back to try some of other Henry's Specials.

walked in last week for "take out' food. restaurant packed and some crazy man was like "NO WE CAN NOT SERVE THEM" them? really dude? it's like 2011, should i refer to you so generically? basically with a packed restaurant and an open kitchen, an order of lo-mein was like moving the great wall of china. join me in saying no thanks to this place. impolite restraunteuers just aren't my friends in this economy. and when I did try the chinese food it reminded of the crap i get that is over salted. take a pass, get a pizza instead.

Fair as it goes for oriental food. Heavy on the sauces, which all tasted about the same. Very heavy on the Thai sauces. Pad Thai - bland.

The food is excellent! Although the service may be slow at times, it is worth the wait. I recommend the Shanghi eggrolls. I also agree with the review about the dinner theater - it can be pretty entertaining!

Went there with my son who is 6 and in a wheelchair and "Henry" or I assume to the owner because he acted like it shouted at me and my other two children as we tried to open the door for the wheelchair to fit into the restaurant. After 6 years of my son and our family frequenting restaurants all over the world I have never been treated with such disrespect. I ask anyone who reads this to never, never eat here.

I have been to Henry's for take out & dine in. It is always fantastic! Take out is usually busy but correct. The servers are very nice & dining in is a pleasure. Good food, not expensive...what more can I say?

  • Joe O.

Where do I start? You may be treated to dinner theater of sorts. One time while we were in there, the owner fired the brand new bar tender right in front of everyone because he didn't like how she answered the phone. Another time, we went for an early dinner. The place was empty, but the owner was passed out in a booth. The place can get loud. Why did I rate it 4 stars? The food is excellent and pricing is resonable. The wait staff and even the owner are friendly to the customers. It's the best asian food I've had in the valley. I will keep returning despite the antics and show.

  • Jared B.

This place has a good sense of humor. It has a bar for the people that like beer. Only the worst thing I herd was a woman that wanted to leave as quote "I dont like this place I,m done!" As of for me, really good food like egg rolls, orange chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. Really slow for the people that want to eat, but I dont know if you can get your drink. I think not. For those who want to eat, I will think better like this place.

  • Mike B.

Hostess was robotic, never said hello, how are you, welcome, enjoy... All she said was two for dinner? Didn't even say right this way or follow me, she just grabbed menus and turned and walked. I didn't know if she was sitting us or the table in front of us...then when the server came over, again no hi how are you, welcome. Actually the server never even made eye contact with us, she was distractd with something outside. When the meal came a cook dropped off the food. Mine was not spicy enough, so I had to wait what seemed like more than 5 mins, the server never came over to ask how is everything or if I needed anything else...actually the cook saw that I was not eating so he came over and asked what was wrong. My water was never refilled and the server took our leftovers without asking if we wanted a box??? Now if they were super busy I'd understand, but we were 2 of 6 people in the entire restuarant. No manager looked to be on duty, no one ever came over to ask us how everything was. For how slow it was, this is the worst service ever. Ive gotten better service in a deli. Will not return

Great lunch specials. Chinese done right. As a local, I'm really glad to have Henry's as a choice for dining.

When henrys is on point it's some of the best Chinese I've ever had, but occasionally the chicken will be really small pieces. The service is always terrible so I would suggest pick up for some yummy Chinese!

I consider myself a regular... The only restaurant I really go to when i want to eat out. The service and food are fantastic. Today i was in visiting gabby and chelsea. Both are awesome. In the past my boyfriend and i have been helped by jessa and shes amazing. One of the major reasons we keep returning. The servers.. Bartenders.. Food.. Everything is so good. The only negative.. Is the crazy (rumored now ex) owner who we have seen berate the servers right In front of us for no reason. He is terrible. And mean. If hes the old owner no idea why he is still stopping in to yell. Note to new owner.. Congrats on buying henrys. Its our favorite. Maybe tell henry to stay away for the sake of them and the customers. Other than that. We suggest this restaurant to everyone! Delicious every time :) :)

Love love love their lo mein!! I feel like I've been here a million times because I used to work right next door the first couple years they were open. I have to say, it totally holds up many many years later. Only thing is, you might want to call a bit ahead for takeout be they are pretty busy most evenings

  • Marko L.

First time at this place. There's not a lot of choices when it comes to affordable Asian food in the area. But if you want something quick, affordable, and tasty, this place would be it. I specially like their hot and sour soup and sweet and sour chicken.

    (4)
  • Bob R.

Great Thai food! It was quite crowded the two times we've eaten there, but then that speaks highly of it's popularity - service was still good and the staff is very friendly.

Quick friendly service, DELICIOUS Chinese cuisine all at a very reasonable price! Not too much food and not too little! Made to order fresh and fast! LOVE Henry's in Riverwalk!

I eat here all of the time and I really enjoy it. The price is great and the food is awesome! It can be a little busy but if it was not I would be wondering why not.

  • Jill R.

If I could give zero stars I would. The owner yelled at us bc we asked for our appetizer BEFORE our entree. First he said "can't you just eat it all together". Then when I responded that since we are paying, no.... He yelled at us "what do you want from me". We left without eating. Paid for our drink and will never return. Interesting way to run a service industry business

I've been in town here for a week on vacation. Tried this place twice in one week. My BF loved the green curry dish. My daughter liked the chicken lo mein they ordered it both visits. My first visit I ordered the sesame chicken and it was ok. Second trip I ordered Kung pow chicken and thought it was great! Service was fast. Staff was not so nice. I think the staff could take a course in customer service. I suggest being polite & less attitude.

Best Chinese food in the valley! We have been eating here for years and the quality of the food has always been superb. The lunch special is a great value and perfectly sized! Food comes out quick and is delicious.

So this is my first yelp review. I have been living by it for about a year now but am always too lazy to review after a meal.. Henry's was great. I was hesitant to order takeout after reading a couple reviews about poor service but am very glad I did. The lady who gave me my order took everything out of the paper bag and it was on point (felt bad because it was busy). Hot and sour soup - great taste, not too much random stuff in it like usual which I liked. Veggie egg rolls - don't recommend. Beef Brocolli, general tsao chicken, pork lo mein, Kung pao shrimp - all great. Highly recommend this place if you're craving takeout chinese in the valley. Hope my first review helps some of y'all!

This place is awesome, I love to have lunch here and for under $10 in this valley is even better! Food came out fast and service was great! highly recommended

Definitely recommend for the food. But the staff is rude! Walked in and bartender up front didn't even acknowledge us. It was if us being there was putting them all out!

    (3)
  • Jack B.

Henry's isn't always perfect, some times the beefs chewy and I did find a piece of plastic in one of my take out meals once. Refer to picture above. But all in all I still go to Henry's because its the best Chinese in the vail valley and its one of the best in the high country. Excellent lunch special and great take out. And as long as the place isn't packed to the brim sit down dining is enjoyable too.

  • Jodi D.

Best Chinese food in the Valley by far. A little pricey, but so worth it. Great flavors. Big portions. I can't comment much on the service because I always get it to go, but the bartenders taking care of the takeout orders are always friendly, even when it's super busy and they're multitasking like crazy. Delish!

  • Susan A.

Took the family there last night and was surprised at how good the food was. This place is well run by people who seem to care, much different than most small Chinese restaurants. Food was better than the chain P.F. Chang's at better prices. This seems to be a real locals place as it was recommended by our shuttle driver. Nice change for a tourist resort. We will be back!

  • Chabraholler Y.

Pretty good food if they don't f@&k the order up. The service is sub par, the girl at the front is rude and oblivious. If u want take out i recommend u physically walk in sit at the bar and order it. If not they'll usually mess up the order.

Food is served amazingly piping hot taste good the ambience is lacking but the food is good and the price is right

Seeing as though I was born and raised in NY, I can only give this 4 stars because no Chinese is better than NY Chinese. However, had it not been for that this place would get 5 stars. It is in a great shopping area (Riverwalk) and has been great for both lunch and dinner. It can get pretty busy, but I have never had any issues with how long it took to get my food, or the quality. It is a fast paced Chinese with great food! I have loved everything including the prices.

    (4)
  • Karma K.

This is a great place, the staff, the food and the location (near movie theater) are so perfect. I had the drunken noodles, general chx, and the pork fried rice. about $35. The portions are big so be ready to eat a lot of real delicious food!!!

  • Harry C.

Food 5/5 . Best Chinese food in the valley, and I am Chinese. Customer Service 2/5. Ordering take out is your best bet. Lunch for the best deals. Sorry, no delivery. Henry, is too busy to chit-chat. My go-to place for Chinese. Better than May Palace. Never go to China Garden. Gobi doesn't taste 100% Chinese.

    (4)
  • Doug C.

Probably the best Chinese food in the valley IMO. I would have given it four stars but the off-season prices are non-existant. If they are off-season prices I'd hate to see ski season prices. I have eaten there three times and their thai offerings are fantastic as well. No complaints about the food. If you have to have Chinese this is the place to go.

    (4)
  • Larry B.

1st they remember you and I like that! Have had great food here along with a good time. the seafood is fresh, the hot and sour soup great and perfect rice. These are the things I use to rate an Asian eatery with! I aslo had the pan fried dumplings, Come hungry they bring the food!

    (4)
  • Chris W.

Henry's has good lunch specials with prompt service, friendly staff and decent variety & pricing. It is also a little bit inconsistent - sometimes everything is amazing, other times it is just ok and/or not quite spicy enough. Even when it is below par, though, I'd agree with Yelp consensus that Henry's curb-stomps the (lack of) competition in the Vail Valley for Chinese Food. Gobi ("Slow-bi") might be slightly higher quality, but it's also not /quite/ Chinese food and has a higher price point.

    (3)
  • Jasmine T.

Nothing special about the food at Henry's. It's fast and does a booming carry out business, but it's not my first choice. Chicken Terriaki is yummy, but they never seem to give us enough rice. We always have to order extra rice (large). I don't recommend eating in during the winter - it's freezing in there! The doors go directly to the outside from the dining room - not too pleasant, brrrrr! I see why they do more of a carry out business.

I have found my new favorite, inexpenisve chinese place! Its a small little place in Riverwalk and it was great! We got there around 6pm on a friday and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table which is understandable for a friday. Food was great! I got some tropical rice and yum! Delicious! Service was not the best. The lady never really did come back to check up on us. But the food made up for that so I was happy. I will be coming back for sure!

The owner is the Grinch that stole Christmas. It was Christmas day in Edwards and we ordered our food for take out. They said it will be ready in an hour. We arrived at the restaurant to take out the food, they immediately processed our credit card and then we waited another 40 minutes. After an hour and forty minutes of waiting we approached the owner, not sure if his name is Henry, but when we explained we had been waiting for an hour and forty minutes , he dismissed our comments, he clearly didn't care, he cancelled our order and said for us to go to a fast food place for dinner. This guy is a piece of work. We were polite and he never looked us in the eye but just brushed us off. His arrogance and rudeness was unparalleled. I think he needs a vacation as he was so stressed but thankfully we went down the street to China Garden in Avon. The owner could not have been nicer or more accommodating at China Garden.

  • Randy L.

The food was great. Some of the best General Tso's chicken with fresh jalapeños. The cheese wontons were fried to perfection. The service was a little abrupt. It felt like they were overwhelmed with a full house and takeout orders, but I was that it was a slow night. If you want Chinese or take out in Edwards, this is the place to go.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
