Conveniently located right next to our hotel, thought I would give it a try. Ordered a few of the "sampler" platters and was enough food for three adults and four children. The sampler contained ribs, pulled pork, beef, half a chicken, sausage, and cornbread. Went on a Wednesday evening and was not crowded at all. We sat out on the patio, it was comfortable and we were able to see the trains. When the kids got restless, there was a horseshoe pit for them to play in. It wasn't the best barbecue I have had, but it was still really good. Only had one type of bbq sauce, it was a good sweet sauce, but was hoping for a spicier option. Overall, a great bbq joint with a good atmosphere.

I had the pulled pork platter, cajun slaw, sweet potato logs, and corn bread. The pulled pork was very moist and had great flavor. The sweet potato logs were great. I would eat here again.

While on vacation we stopped in. Three of us had burgers which were big and good. I had the fried chicken po boy. It wasnt spectacular but I liked it. The sweet potato fries were awesome and thick cut/beer battered...very tasty. I also liked the slaw.

I went to T's with my family. They seemed to enjoy their food more than I did. I will say that the issue really was more that vegetarians shouldn't go out for Cajun food. Even the rice and beans have meat. I had a green salad. It was fairly boring but OK, and potato logs, which were basically deep fried french fries. The BBQ sauce was watery, which my aunt informed me was the style. I thought the potatoes were fairly boring but passable. The other food looked like it might have been better, and the girl who took our order was very nice and helpful. The place was comfortable, and there was plenty of seating. I'd pass again as a vegetarian but go again if I ate meat.

No place to sit inside as restaurant was steamy - ordered the platter to share with husband, all meat was overcooked and tough, BBQ sauce seemed as if it came from a bottle in the grocery store, cornbread was jiffy mix and overcooked as well - not impressed - seek your meal elsewhere -

It is my boyfriend and mines new favorite place to eat, the shrimp po boy is amazing. And the bread pudding.... I could eat it forever. Even after a full meal there I always have room for that delicious bread pudding.

I've been here 3 times and the BBQ has been moist, smoke flavored, and lean. I took my brother here last week, with his wife and 2 kids. The chicken quarters were moist, the pulled pork was moist, absent the usual pieces of fat in most BBQ places, 1 of the boys ordered a burger, which looked way to big for him to finish. They have ribs, sausage, catfish, and some Cajan dishes. The sides were very good, my wife had red beans and rice, I like the sweet potato fries, 1 of the boys had the potato logs, and they deep fried the sweet Colorado corn. I think they offer a selection of around 8 sides. Their BBQ is some of the most moist and favorable we have ever tried. We sat in their outdoor patio, right next to their smoker. They pulled out pork bellies while we were there, I was almost drooling! They have a horse shoe pit if you want to give it a try while you wait for them to bring out your BBQ. You order at the counter, and they give you a block letter to put on your table, and they find you. I'm not sure what the vegetarian reviewer would expect from a "smokehouse or BBQ place". Nor the reviewer who thought the BBQ sauce was watery and vinegar. The great southern BBQ/Smokehouses usually make their own sauce, and they are usually vinegar based and tend to be a little runny. They are not your typical thick grocery store BBQ sauces that are loaded with corn syrup, modified food starch, xanthan gum, etc. The Smokehouse makes a great sauce! As for the women owner, I suspect she is the 1 who has always been at the counter every time I have been there. She has always welcomed us, while always smiling, and checks on you even though its a counter service operation. I love their BBQ, its the best in southern Colorado...

We wound up returning our food for a full refund after a terrible experience. Conveniently located near our hotel in downtown Durango, we decided to check out T's at 8:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night. The cashier, who turned out to be the owner, suggested we order a half pound each of pulled pork and bbq beef because we were undecided. After paying, I noticed we were overcharged $.50 per meat selection. A dollar is not a big deal, but what upset me was that the charges were not advertised on the large menu on their wall, nor were they mentioned upon her suggestion of ordering smaller portions of two meats. She didn't offer to return the charges, but instead defensively explained her prices based on a sheet behind the cashier counter. We left hastily and returned to our hotel room just to realize that the bbq was lackluster at best. The pulled pork was tough, with little to no remnant of smoke flavor. It was sitting in a pool of white vinegar, which still did not mask its lack of flavor and toughness. The bbq beef was basically a braised chuck roast which was served in its braising liquid of tomato sauce and vinegar. The "sauce" was water-thin, and purely sour; with no depth of flavor. In addition, the beef was entirely too lean, and just plain tough. I sensed that both meats were previously refrigerated, and then microwaved, so I called the establishment to ask how they reheated their meat. I spoke to the same lady, who told me that microwaving is fine if done briefly. Later, she retracted her comment, telling me that she was instructing me how to reheat the meat in my own kitchen. I also mentioned the overcharge incident, to which she overbearingly replied, "I didn't try to rip you off because you were tourists." She became increasingly defensive and insisted we return for a refund, which we did. We returned our pulled pork and bbq beef, and she still did not even try to understand our point of view. We sincerely and kindly offerred suggestions, but could not overcome her defensive barrier. T's has only been open for six months, and with such inattentiveness and blatant customer dis-service, I doubt their longevity. I really wanted to like T's, but can't think of even one reason to recommend this establishment to anyone.

Best bbq joint in town, hands down, and I make sure to go at least once a week. The sandwiches are cheap, the side of fries is huge (and home battered), and they even give a college discount. The staff is always friendly, too. They have a nice outside seating area, and free horseshoes, to boot.

Solid food and good prices for the portions. I had the shrimp po'boy and my boyfriend had the beef BBQ platter. Both were really flavorful.

Went to T's yesterday for a late lunch/early dinner. Middle of the afternoon, definitely. We were 3 of seven diners present. 1. The food: IF you are a BBQ fan, a resident of the Carolinas or Texas, you might poo-poo the BBQ. There is certainly better BBQ available across the United States, and I have consumed my fair share of it, including some I wished I had never eaten. T's offers a solid performance. It might not be A+, but its not D or F either. Solid C+ or B. It is flavorful and edible. I am certain you can run into far worse BBQ in Durango without trying very hard. You are not likely to find alligator or catfish on any other regular menu in the area, however. It might be a special if you do find it. 2. Beverages: Soda fountain, a small but respectable variety of local, regional, and national brews in cans or bottles, as well as some hard liquor and custom cocktails. 3. The space: Yes please. A nice patio in the back, and low traffic. People don't randomly "pass by" T's. People go there with purpose. It's not on the sidewalk, adjacent to the river trail, etc... but rather tucked back into a space carved out of the old railroad yard. It might be "too remote" for it's own good.... but you can smell the smoker from blocks away if the wind is just right. You will also hear and smell the hubbub of the railroad yard if sitting on the patio. 4.) Pricing: a decent meal will not break the average bank of "eating out" diners. $10-14 per plate plus beverages. Not bad for what you get. T's earns exactly 4 stars. "Yay! I am a fan", and those four stars are for not only "what it is", but also "for what it is not". Good food, comfortable "not in public" location with great outdoor seating, in the bowels of Downtown Durango. "A bit out of the way" in Durango is actually "A bit more in the local". I will be returning to T's, frequently.

Huge sandwiches, fat beer battered fries, deep fried corn- everything was great! Also a great place for families-sit outside in the shade!

Yummmmm! Amazing BBQ. Moist, flavorful, and decent selection (trying the gator next time! They have a platter and appetizer not listed on the big menu, but found out when asking!!) Hubs and I split the sampler now. Didn't seem like enough food the first time, but with the side of amazing fries, it is a perfect amount. Can barely finish! Kids love their burgers! Sauce is southern/LA like it should be......these are serious southern texans now living in Durango who have found legit serious bbq. We have visited 3 times in a short time and will be regulars. Only suggestion, I cannot get a decent baked potato anywhere, consider adding that to the sides? Please! And some boudin. :-) love the location as its geared towards locals vs the hustle and headache on main. Much needed durango restaurant all around!!!!

Some menu items better than others...I'm a local who usually gets their good burger, but yesterday I got their special of the day, brisket sandwich, and it was almost inedible with gristle. Sandwiches are a little pricey, but usually big enough you can split them.

Cajun and BBQ. Right next to the train station but back behind the theater and bagel place. Worth finding. Has lots of free parking. I ordered the andouille sandwich. It was delicious. Red beans and rice were good. Service fast and friendly but regular table service would be nice. I dont like the order at the window. Will add more next time I come here.

Located close to the train station I had heard good and so so reviews. What we had was great. The BBQ sampler had enough meat to feed at least 2 and maybe up to 4 people and it was outstanding. I'm of the opinion if you need to use sauce on your BBQ then it isn't good and the meats on this plate were great sauce-free. The meats were brisket, pulled pork, 4 ribs, and andouille sausage. The husband could only eat half the plate so I gladly helped finish it. I had the corn chowder and it was rich and satisfying. Service was great. Will definitely go back next time we visit Durango.

They have Fried Corn-on-the Cob, my favorite side with the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich. Consistently Awesome! It does take a little navigation to find T's but worth the hunt.

Great BBQ and ALLIGATOR! Yummmmm! Can't get that anywhere else in Durango! Off the beaten path but worth the hunt/trek. The girl at the front desk taking/running orders sure hustles...I am always sure to tip her. All around great experience and great for Durango! Ohhhh, and did I mention sweet potato logs? How could I forget? I'd eat them everyday if I could!

Seriously good BBQ but way too crowded unless you happen to come in right before they close as we did. Even with closing time clean up, our service was excellent and we didn't feel rushed at all. My husband can't wait to return!

Not my cup of beans! I like at Louis style bbq not vinegar based sauce. The meat here was moist and decent flavor. Ribs are large and not babybacks. Not bad food just not my cup of beans

BBQ, well we all have our ideas and tastes on what BBQ should be. I rate all my reviews based on if I can make it at home and its as good as or better than buying out, well they don't get a good rating. I travel on occasions through different places and recently was in Missouri and had real BBQ that the ribs and brisket were marinated and cured then slow cooked low and slow.... Making the meat tender, but firm, little juices squirting out all over your hands and making a mess. Well T's had great tastes and flavors but easily developed and there cooking time was higher and faster than what I consider good to excellent BBQ. We all can cook a slow cooker, throw it on a smokey grill an get the T's flavors. I would eat here again, maybe, but if they took more time and didn't rush things it could be a lot better. We had ribs, andouille sausage, fried corn, slaw. Fried corn wa smushy, slaw was simple and like others.
