Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

First time to Durango and we were looking for a great pizza for the family and LOVED the pizza at Home Slice. The dough was perfect and the toppings were generous. Used very high quality ingredients. My son and I shared a large pepperoni and my wife and daughter had a loaded medium veggie pizza. Both pizzas were outstanding. The location is not the best or most beautiful but it is worth it.

My wife loved this place way more than me. We got a 16-inch pizza and 2 drinks and it cost about $25. The pizza was okay but not great. The place was packed, so I guess it's popular in the area and maybe I'm in the minority that isn't impressed. This was recommended by one of the employees at the hotel we were staying at, and he described it as "the best pizza in town." For my money, even something like Pizza Hut is probably a better choice, but it seems like I am in the minority on this one.
(3)Jon W.
Wonderful Pizza vibes. This place makes a good pie. Seriously, some of the best I've had. Their downtown location has a great patio area. They accommodated a few special requests, and the bathroom was clean. I got a regular pepperoni and a drink. I had an unexpired coupon for a food they no longer make, so they were happy to give me a garlic knot instead (garlic donut is what my 2 yr. old son called it).
(5)Baker M.
The best pizza in Durango by far. They are very pricy but great pizza. Get the spaghetti pizzA if they have it, Don't understand why they only sell this type by the slice. They use to offer it as a whole pizza. Not any more, don't know why????
(5)Emari H.
Ordered a delivery to our hotel room and they came quick! We ordered a meatball sub and 12" cheese pizza. It was reasonable ($25 total) and delicious! I usually don't eat the crust but the pizza bread was so fresh, soft & delicious and I could tell their sauce wasn't straight from the can like most pizzeria use I gobbled them up! Yum! Delivery fee $2-
(5)Ken R.
A great place to have a few slices and a beer on the patio. We stopped in after a mountain bike ride and it was the perfect place for lunch. So why only 3 stars? I guess I'm a pizza snob. The pizza was good, not great.
(3)Wade N.
A little bit expensive for pizza,. but good. Order a whole pizza, don't buy the slices which sit waaay too long in the window. For slices I recommend competitor DioRios (DSP) half block away, more Brooklyn style and affordable.
(4)Anne P.
We've eaten here several times while in town to ski. Love the pizza options. Thin crust w nice char around edges & lots of topping options! A few good local brews on tap. Good for families but very small inside.
(4)W S.
Best Pizza in the area! Huge Menu. Main issue is parking and limited seating. This place needs to expand!!
(4)Greg T.
wicked good.
(5)K H.
Stopped in on a whim and boy was it a great surprise, the pizza was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was relaxing, the server was friendly and and the beer was cold (Ska beer). I would highly recommend and if we lived closer, would come back more often.
(5)Mike F.
Best pizza in Durango. I absolutely love their calzones.
(5)Cory B.
Food here was fantastic!!! Everything tasted exceptional. The pizza was nicely seasoned, the calzones were fresh and delicious, and the salad was extremely fresh and tasty. Will definitely make a point to come back here!
(5)RS W.
Overpriced. They are proud of their offerings though they are nothing to write home about. In fact it's hardly worth writing this review. The house salad is a bed of lettuce with shredded Parmesan - no other toppings - and a vinaigrette dressing for $5.00. the cheese pizza slices are $2.40, if I remember correctly, plus 35 cents per topping. I had two slices and the house salad and my bill was $11.33 w/o tip. Seems a little high for what it is even if it would've tasted like something worth writing home about.
(3)Kd D.
Thai pizza is amazing. Everything here is amazing. If I didn't live in Denver...I'd drive there for a slice right now. Great chefs...great food.
(5)Wendy T.
When I was in Durango this weekend visiting some friends they insisted we MUST check this place out. They even said it was better than Cafe Rio in Ruidoso - and if you've read my review for Cafe Rio you know that would be a hard thing to accomplish. My response, after eating the food, was that it is like comparing apples and oranges. Both have EXCELLENT pizza - but they are very different. Cafe Rio perfects the classic Italian pizza, while Home Slice take great pizza and gets creative with it. Home Slice has a crazy variety of pizzas that you won't find everywhere. For example, they had a pulled pork pizza, and a Thai pizza. I tried a veggie pizza slice and a southwestern pizza slice, along with a salad. Being with good friends I was able to try bites of the pulled pork pizza and a beef sandwich that was heaven. My favorite part of the pizza was the crust - it is seriously the flakiest crust I've ever had on a pizza. It was so yummy! It was like a pie crust (I mean like a holiday pie, not your typical pizza pie) that your grandma would make. Super flaky, but thick with a great flavor. Definitely worth checking this place out when you happen to be in Durango. Great way to top off a busy day of river rafting and drinking beer.
(5)Matt A.
Best Pizza in Durango.
(5)Patrick D.
I thought the pizza was good. Not blown away. I guess if you have never had pizza before outside of Durango then maybe it would be 5 stars. I would pass on the house salad. My GF and I split a large one and it was some mixed greens with parmesan and oily dressing. Not worth the money. Stick with the pizza.
(3)Jenn W.
After a "late night" train ride we took our two little ones back to the hotel to put them to bed. Saw that this place does delivery so we called in - we were rudely told that they weren't doing any more deliveries for the night, which was over an hour before closing. We ended up just picking up our order. Pizza was tasty but a little pricey. Also ordered the cheese bread which was just average. If we were in town again we would consider returning (mostly because we haven't found any other good place to eat) but it would be with some hesitation. The customer service just left a bad taste in our mouths - one that the food just couldn't erase.
(3)Megan A.
I love Homeslice! Friendly staff for dine in and the delivery people are always friendly. Great pizza, salads and appetizers. Highly recommend!
(5)Kathy D.
Great Pizza. Place is a little small. Noticed they had another location on the other side of town. We were traveling through so ordered a whole pie and had enough left over for lunch next day.
(4)Steve D.
My family & I pulled in to Durango at mile 1150 on our road trip. We were a tad hazy and very hungry. We hot a room for the night and decided to order pizza from across the street. What luck! This place was awesome! The porch bar was buzzin for a Thursday night. I brought the pie back to our room and the crust was amazing. The sauce was very good and the toppings were freshly delightful. This was on the Main Street location. One of the cooks had a nice Ween tattoo. I wish we had a Home Slice back home. Now excuse me while I eat the last slice before my family wakes up.
(5)Greg H.
Excellent pizza and very friendly staff. Highly recommended. Good vibe too. Only reason not 5 stars was house music. Ok- but need variety. Other than that very good place... Skip the other pizza chains and go here. The Ultimate Behemoth is the pizza of choice.
(4)Becky W.
We ordered a pizza for delivery. It was hot and came faster than expected. As far as the pizza it was very good. Much better than the other pizza I'm used to. I wish they had one in the city where I live. We'd be there all the time.
(5)Amanda A.
Delicious margarhita pizza and a pita sandwich called World Peas. Husband loved how it was a grounded food truck with an eating area built around it. This was the first place we ate at in Durango and were really happy. Great stocked bar area and we had front row seats to a double rainbow right after a tiny rain shower. The only things that bummed me out was that the pita was so stuffed, it split and he got his pizza about 10 minutes before I got my sandwich so his was cold when we ate together. Prices were reasonable. Husband even liked it even though he isn't a vegetarian! Great place!
(4)YouKnowWhoDisIs K.
This place is the SHIT!!!!!!!! You want good pizza, then go here. Fuck all the rest HOMESLICE IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!
(5)Sam P.
Very good food!!! The pizza is heavenly and is very obviously hand made. Supreme, pepperoni, and cheese are all excellent. The place is a true delicacy. It has a nice breeze coming in, and it's a cool, friendly place. Now, the cons. The wood seats are just dangerous. I got many splinters. The drink machine is jacked and takes a long time to stop spewing. Otherwise, amazing place!
(4)Kevin R.
Small, quaint, really good pizza, great crust! Off the beaten tourist path, but worth the short trip.
(4)Garrett J.
Great pizza, and great local beer! Nice little place with a laid back atmosphere. Prices were affordable as well. Would definitely come back!
(5)Nichole W.
I am not from Durango, but now I wish I was... Because I would eat at Homeslice ALL THE TIME!!!! Wow, this place is just awesome!! The atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. It has a very groovy hippy kind of vibe goin on. The woman behind the register was beutiful, extremely friendly and incredibly efficient (I wish I knew her name so I could give her the credit she deserves). They were slammed when we were there and she totally kept her composure the entire time and always had a smile on her face. In fact, every employee we talked that day was beyond friendly, it was just incredible really. Homeslice has a huge selection of pizzas all with clever names and incredible toppings. I was there with a group of people so we ended up just getting ham and pineapple because that was what everyone agreed upon, but I saw tons of pizzas that I wanted to try. The pizza was simply delicious, cheesy gooey goodness with fresh toppings on a perfect crust. Oh, and the garlic home rolls are to die for! I probably could have eaten the whole order on my own (but I had to share)!! I loved everything about this little pizza joint and next time I'm in town visiting my brother, you better believe we'll be eating at Homeslice, at least twice!! Oh, and I forgot to mention, they do sell pizza by the slice as well. Keep up the great work Homeslice!!!
(5)Annette H.
HomeSlice has the most amazing pizza, an awesome vibe and some pretty wonderful people working to make sure you have a great experience. We brought a bunch of very hungry backpackers to this establishment on Thursday 7/31 and everything we ordered was superlative. I had the greek salad and a margherita pizza slice. Both were top notch. I then sampled some of the custom pizzas the guys ordered and, somewhat shockingly given what was ordered, everything was great. To be clear on the wonderful people aspect: I discovered I was missing my credit card the day after our visit, but unfortunately I was in a location with limited cell service. When I called a couple of days later, the kind folks at HomeSlice graciously mailed it to me in Phoenix. Way to go, HomeSlice!
(5)pieter v.
This gets two stars because this was seriously the WORST, most INEDIBLE gluten-free crust I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to injest. They were "researching" gf crusts for a long time and I was excited when they finally settled on one. Oh my god. Wow is it bad. Closer to a combination of saw dust and concrete than something like bread. In Durango, Fired Up is your only spot for gf pizza- haven't tried Cosmos.
(2)Axel A.
Excellent stone fire pizza, especially the huge pepperoni slices. Fat and polite service. I recommend it for lunch - and perhaps dinner, just have not been there for dinner.
(5)Mackenzie J.
I almost feel bad for giving three stars, because the food was ok. I was really excited because they had some amazing topping options: like fresh rosemary and goat cheese. The pizza also only took like ten minutes, I was surprised. I am not sure why they call their pizza NY style, it is way to thick and dense. I felt like it could have been cooked a little more. I loved that they used fresh rosemary, but sprigs were just thrown on the pizza and I broke it up myself. I still enjoyed my pizza but it wasn't anything I would write home about. Staff was friendly and the place had a laid back vibe (maybe too laid back). However, my reason for three stars is they only have like five tables inside and all of them were dirty, including mine. I would understand if they were busy but they weren't. Not one of them were clean while I was in there, and I was the only one dining. The cashier figured stocking Parmesan was more important. The manager or maybe even owner even stopped by and didn't say anything, except asked the girl to box her up a slice! The cook was outside as I left smoking. I don't understand why they have 4.5 stars. Maybe just because not enough people have eaten here.
(3)Joe H.
We passed this on the road and decided to give it a chance based off the fact that it looked cool, and lots of people were sitting outside. You can order pizza by the slice or an entire pizza. They also have gyros. My wife got a salad and a slice, and I got 2 slices. The pizza is pretty damn good. The crust was light and fluffy. I thought the staff was incredibly friendly. As soon as we walked in, someone acknowledged us and told us how the ordering system worked. And the bartender was super friendly, and suggested a few good local brews. It was a good, fairly cheap dinner. Only reason they don't get 5 stars, is I had to listen to jam band music the entire time.... But that is to be expected in Colorado I suppose. :)
(4)Jeffrey H.
Awesome! great atmosphere & great pizza got the ultimate behemoth. So good we loved every bite & cool patio. Be back ASAP!
(5)Mary Jane R.
After a terrific day on the Durango Silverton Railroad we found this local pizza shop through Yelp and could not have had a more perfect evening. The pizza topping options were endless but we stayed with simple toppings because of our young children. We ate outdoors and enjoyed a cold beer while watching the sun set over the Rockies. Months later we still talk about that meal.
(5)Raymond O.
Very good pizza, we also enjoyed there home salad, and garlic rolls and a couple of porters to wash it all down with. Small place, but good food and very friendly people. While I was eating an older gentlemen came to the counter and was honest about how he didn't have any money until the first of the month but was hungry. I was just about to speak up and buy him lunch when someone who worked there behind the counter did it first.
(4)Khloe B.
Total disappointment. Toppings piled high looked good but in theory only, couldn't even pick up the slice to eat, everything slide off the slice! And the dough was raw. Waste of food and money. Check out the pic!
(1)Samuel W.
I love HomeSlice. Best bet for pizza in Durango.
(5)Steve S.
Pizzas are just outstanding. The Chicago deep dish crust is perfect. Nice fresh ingredients. Beautiful patio seating area with hops and grapes growing over head for shade. Best pizza in Durango that I've found so far. Ska Brewing Co. beers on tap also a big plus.
(5)Scott T.
Last dinner in Durango for this trip. We like this place. The pizza is good and if you order a slice, it comes quick. Several local beers on tap. Fun atmosphere. The only drawbacks are the limited parking and tiny dining room.
(4)Marina R.
Tough one to review. I think they were having a rough evening. Completely overwhelmed by customer demand. We got there and the patio was full as was the dining room but no one in the dining room was eating - just waiting. We ordered slices, rolls and salads. The house salad was a plate of spring mix, shredded parmesan and a crustini for $5.00. I guess it's supposed to be a special dressing? It was oily balsamic. I would never get that again. The slices were good. I got one with salami or some other salted meat, tomatoes, and pepperoncini it was really good. Thicker crust than I usually like but not too thick, and fluffy. Husband got a margherita but it had cheddar - that didn't work for me. The boys had cheese and pepperoni - they loved it. We had beer - I don't know what it was but it was refreshing. The best part of the meal was their bread. They gave us rolls that was apparently a mistake or burnt. They were amazing, yeasty rolls with a wonderful tomato dipping sauce. We also ordered the garlic knots and they were great too. We got our food fairly quick but everyone around us was so unhappy waiting for their pies, some for over an hour, it made it a stressful dining experience. At one point a woman behind the counter tells a man getting utensils: "those are the only knives I have right now". There was one. I don't know if someone didn't show up to work tonight or the summer crowd did them in or all these great Yelp comments has made their business to big to handle. I bet this is really good pizza and nice people but weak salads and needs a growth plan.
(3)Anne L.
It's been years since we've been there, but we still talk about HomeSlice. The pizza is incredible. The toping selections are great. Really, I've never had better pizza in my life.
(5)Will J.
This place had some good pizza! Be forewarned, it is not a restaurant to swing by if you're in a hurry - the wait was fairly lengthy. Additionally, it seems to be pretty popular, so the limited seating room inside was quite full. Outside seating is available, but if there is any potential for rain (as there very much was when we went), only some of the outside tables are sheltered, so you may get a bit damp. Lastly, the line was pretty long, and there isn't much room inside (again, small restaurant), so there was a lot of moving around to let other customers around us. But, the food, as I said, is very good. So, if you're not worried about time or tight quarters, I'd recommend checking this place out!
(4)Stephen B.
Great pizza in a great town. Very nice beer selection as well.
(4)Janelle O.
Found this place on a road trip. Great pizza- interesting flavor combos and cool atmosphere. Big slices!
(4)J M.
Definitely a solid place to eat some pizza. The atmosphere was pretty low-key, but as we learned everything shuts down early in Durango. I just could not believe this was one of the only pizza places available to eat at when we got into town around 8:30pm. Good green chile which is always a welcome addition to any pizza. I think it could have stayed in the oven a minute or two more as the crust was not very crunchy. The servers were great and the local beer selection was also nice. The guys/girls running it even pointed us in the right direction for some drinks after we ate which was great.
(4)David S.
Pizza tasted great but the employees didn't pay attention to detail. I asked for the Five Cheese sliced smaller for the kids and the Phunky Phresh with added chicken breast and a side of jalapenos. I received the cheese regularly sliced. The Phunky Phresh I received without chicken and without the side of Jalapenos. The taste of the Pizza brought it up to 3 stars
(3)David G.
Awesome really enjoyed. This is real pizza made by hand. A little small inside but we were able to sit. 16in pizza and two micro beers great. Workers really friendly and seem to working there. A little hard to find, but keep looking.
(5)T R.
I rate all pizza with this place as the benchmark! Pizza in Italy gets a 3 as compared to Homeslice pizza.
(5)Debbie G.
Great food and friendly staff. Not to fond of the idea to allow pets.
(3)John A.
Ok food. Good staff, prices are good. College type restaurant. Big crowds limited seating.
(3)Kyle D.
Best Pizza in the World. Hot homegirls and cool homedudes. Awesome patio with grape-vines and hop vines. Good beer selection and window pies, WHAT? Ya window pies in Durango...Sick.
(5)Kevin M.
Very good pizza. Great crust and sauce. Quick and friendly. We were on vacation and happy to stop off the beaten path and find thus place on Yelp. Kid friendly. Obviously a local favorite. We agree.
(4)Dave S.
Great slices. Price was excellent. Rolls were good - I could've eaten a dozen of them.
(5)Chris M.
LOVE IT!!! The service was kind and awesome. First I started off with the Winthrop salad which had bacon, blue cheese, walnuts and strawberry vinegarette. We had to wait a while for the pizza but it was all worth it!! I really had a lot of fun sitting outdoors and looking out at the San Jaun mountains with my family. We could also hear the train and they had good music. My son who usually has less than one slice of pizza had two. I recommend it if you ever visit Durango! :) (It also liked the prices!) Enjoy.
(5)Amanda G.
I've been sitting on this review for a while, hoping that I could have more than one experience with Home Slice to judge by. However, there are so many reasons that I haven't eaten here a second time: 1. I work too much, 2. There are lots of other new places to try in Durango, 3. I live a ways outside of town and am too lazy to drive in for dinner most of the time, and, of course, 4. I am poor. As always. So I will go off the one time I have eaten here and then correct the stars depending on my future experiences. I first ate here back before I lived here. I was staying at the Holiday Inn so that I could do an interview (for my current job) and we were hungry. I wanted pizza but I did NOT want chain pizza. So E brought me here. I'm just going to list off the toppings on my pizza. If you think they sound heaven-sent, you can keep reading. If you think they sound gross, sorry. Ok, here goes: coconut curry sauce, shrimp, pineapple, bell peppers, thai chili sauce, basil, and cilantro. It's their Kow Thai pizza, and may I say, from a Thai lover, it's damn good. It's like they took my favorite curry and put it on a pizza crust. The shrimp were perfectly bite sized and the chili sauce left an awesome impression on my lips but wasn't enough to be over powering. We got it to go and brought it back to our hotel room and devoured it. Seriously. It's one of their specialty pies, which means it only comes in 12", and we just absolutely stuffed ourselves. They have lots of interesting combos, and I want to go back! I'm sure the opportunity for pizza will present itself soon, and I know just where I'm going.
(4)Margaret N.
Do you want a pizza that a little different from the ordinary? Then HomeSlice is for you. Sure you can make your own pizza, but they offer a really broad range of pizzas that you're probably not going to see somewhere else (i.e. the curry pizza). I popped in for a slice or two of pizza and I wasn't disappointed. I wish the slices had signs telling me which was which, but it was somewhat straight forward and I wasn't disappointed with my choices. In the warmer months it'd be nice to sit out front and catch some beautiful Colorado sunshine.
(4)Kyle J.
Best Pizza on this side of the world! I really like their 'Heater' Pie. I am not a huge fan of the new location on the west side of Durango, but the one on 6th is my favorite. Great beer and nice people.
(4)Aaron H.
Best pizza in town hands down. Some funky combinations but all I've had were great. Pepperoni rolls are phenomenal.
(5)Cooper P.
Great pizza, very busy during dinner hour, not worth the money when considering the hour and a half wait...
(3)Steve K.
5 * for excellent handmade sausage pizza pie. 3* for the wait on a recent visit - 45 min for a to-go order with a slight delay. The variety of pizzas offered is beyond comparison...
(4)Diane K.
Service is prompt, courteous & just plain awesome w/ a welcoming atmosphere full of friendly locals at both locations. Decor is glum, the one on N Main is roomier, more inviting w/ a full bar and a nice fireplace outside. Pizza had a fairly good flavor and plenty of cheese though there was hardly any sauce and too doughy. We got the NY style. No No aaaand No! Not even close. Sorry Homeslice, you have some good pizza but, NY style it is not Thin out the crust by 2/3, add more sauce, fire up the oven a couple of notches and grease, gotta have that yummy Italian-e dripping grease. Then...you will be a little closer. Other than that, it was good for Colorado pizza!
(3)Steve M.
Mmmmm tasty pizza, good variety and friendly staff
(4)D E.
Never been disappointed in their slices. I've loved them all, especially their spicy buffalo chicken, the veggie and BBQ chicken are also great. I'm sure in time I'll work my way through my menu. Their patio is super cute and a great place to eat a pizza and drink a pitcher.
(5)Jessica D.
Deeeeelicious! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is bc their ordering system is crummy & the swiss-miss girl in the food truck was quite a jerk, especially when I said - this is my first time here, how does this work? Apparently that wasn't a cue for her to dazzle me and make a good impression. Meh ... The bar took FOREVER to get service and it was clear the bartender played favorites to the regulars. I would have drank a lot more if it didnt take 3 years to get a beer. The food though ... oh, the food. Man it was good! our group ordered several pizzas and the bread and we all shared. There wasn't a one I didnt like. Their dough is delicious! Even the kids suddenly wanted to eat their crusts. When I'm back in Durango next year, I'll be sure to go back. I may not drink but I'll bring my appetite.
(4)CJ K.
Best pizza ever!! Been eatin here since I was a kid and been my favorite place ever since.
(5)Dave M.
Gyro was good, pizza could be better, was dry and needed more sauce. Pizza is a bit expensive for the quality. Staff were nice
(3)Bill M.
This place is the worst "so called" pizza I have ever tasted. By all means, if you like a tasteless outer crust - which makes up 1/3 the size of the slice- then you will love it. Dough is tasteless, sauce is tasteless and mozzarella cheese is tasteless. Way too expensive. Well, what would you expect to find in a Colorado. It's by no means NY City or Chicago Pizza. I guess that it is as good as it gets for the locals in Durango.
(2)M T.
Bohemian Pizza - delicious, hot, and fresh ingredients. We eat here about 2x/year while driving through to Vallecitos. Pizza is consistently awesome. Great customer service - clean bathrooms - variety of condiments. Freshly brewed tea is delicious. Clean bathrooms - sitting area.
(5)Sheena A.
Love the place and the pizza we order boehmeth pizza was very delicious . Wanted to order a second one . This is our second day to eat there . First tried on Thursday and now it Saturday and we are back . If you are looking for great pizza please try them first . You will not be disappointed
(5)Jo G.
Very good pizza. Had pepperoni extra sauce. Recommended the extra as it is really tasty. Cute little place.
(4)Kurt P.
What do you look for in a pizza... And a pizza place? Consistent pizza that looks like it tastes? Well, pizza looked great, so we ordered slices. Dough looked like the right texture. Ingredients looked awesome. Pizza looked the right thickness for the crust style I like. Mouth was starting to water when the guy put a fresh pie in the slice section. What did the counter staff do when I ordered a slice from that pizza? Took the delectable-looking pizza slice and put it back in the oven!!!! ....for a toasting! ... not kidding! So... the soft crust (which I was anticipating) became hard, toasted crust. This, literally, brought tears to my eyes. She did the same with the garlic roll... Transformed a delicious looking mound of soft bread into something resembling a stale piece of bread you'd hand out in a medieval prison. Is this standard practice, or did my counter staff person just have no situational awareness or leave it in the oven too long? How about asking if I want my crust toasted? I didn't try the pizza before "reprocessing," so I cannot comment on a freshly made, non-reheated pizza, so this could easily have been a four-star review. Pizza was tasty despite the toasting (what I am used to when I reheat my own pizza at home the next day.), so if you plan on just ordering a fresh pizza, you might be in luck. If ordering by the slice, either tell her "do not reheat," or "only put it in for half the time you usually do." The red sauce that came with my prison roll was pretty good and helped soften it up a bit. Atmosphere was what you'd expect in a college-town pie place... Reggae music playing in the background. Price was fair.

Went to order a pizza for delivery and got the most awful customer service. I have ordered pizza from there several times but this particular time they refused to deliver to my address. To add insult to injury the guy on the phone called me a liar and told me that they had never delivered a pizza to my address. He also suggested I drive and go pick it up instead of being lazy and waiting for it to show up. Overall, very rude person! If you don't want my business, fine! Lots of pizza places with better customer service in Durango!
(1)Amanda S.
The atmosphere here is casual. The order window and kitchen seem to be a food truck that was turned into a restaurant. I loved the local art on the walls and the menu items were named creatively. We were starving after just finishing a half day rafting trip and wanted something to eat quickly. So, our family of five (with 3 kids) ordered eleven individual slices off the Home Slice tower of ready-made pizzas. They were ready pretty quickly and delivered to our table. On the tower, there were a few interesting flavor combos (my fave was the pesto, kalamata olives, tomato, and ricotta) and the flavors you'd expect. It was an interesting mix of flavors. I liked adding their homemade green chile sauce to almost every bite. It was tangy and gave the pie a little "kick." I wasn't sure if the slices would be tasty after being heated up, but they satisfied our hungry bellies. I would go back, but would like to order off their menu as opposed to the ready-made pies. Oh, and it was a little pricey.

They have the best gyros in town hands down and their pizza is delicious but the last 4 out of 5 times we have used our debit cards there the amount that was charged was always more than when we left. We called and complained and they said they would fix it, but it was not. Lesson learned- only used cash.
(3)Jerad H.
We ordered take out and the pizzas were an hour late, cold, and folded in the box. The pizza itself was pretty good.
(2)Greg H.
(5)Cooper P.
Great pizza, very busy during dinner hour, not worth the money when considering the hour and a half wait...
(3)Aaron H.
Best pizza in town hands down. Some funky combinations but all I've had were great. Pepperoni rolls are phenomenal.
(5)Amanda S.
The atmosphere here is casual. The order window and kitchen seem to be a food truck that was turned into a restaurant. I loved the local art on the walls and the menu items were named creatively. Never been disappointed in their slices. I've loved them all, especially their spicy buffalo chicken, the veggie and BBQ chicken are also great. I'm sure in time I'll work my way through my menu. Their patio is super cute and a great place to eat a pizza and drink a pitcher.
(5)Steve M.
Mmmmm tasty pizza, good variety and friendly staff
(4)Steve K.
5 * for excellent handmade sausage pizza pie. 3* for the wait on a recent visit - 45 min for a to-go order with a slight delay. The variety of pizzas offered is beyond comparison...

(5)Joe H.
(5)Jenn W.
(4)Bryan L.
(1)Amanda A.
(5)Axel A.
Excellent stone fire pizza, especially the huge pepperoni slices. Fat and polite service. I recommend it for lunch - and perhaps dinner, just have not been there for dinner.
(4)Sam P.
(3)David S.
(3)T R.
I rate all pizza with this place as the benchmark! Pizza in Italy gets a 3 as compared to Homeslice pizza.
(5)Debbie G.
Great food and friendly staff. Not to fond of the idea to allow pets.
(3)Nichole W.
(2)J M.
(3)John A.
(5)Marina R.
Big slices!
(4)Mary Jane R.
(5)Kevin M.
Very good pizza. Great crust and sauce. Quick and friendly. We were on vacation and happy to stop off the beaten path and find thus place on Yelp. Kid friendly. Obviously a local favorite. We agree.
(4)David G.
Awesome really enjoyed. This is real pizza made by hand. A little small inside but we were able to sit. 16in pizza and two micro beers great. Workers really friendly and seem to working there. A little hard to find, but keep looking.
(5)Chris M.
(5)Kd D.
Thai pizza is amazing. Everything here is amazing. If I didn't live in Denver...I'd drive there for a slice right now. Great chefs...great food.
(4)Dave S.
Great slices. Price was excellent. Rolls were good - I could've eaten a dozen of them.
(3)Wendy T.
(3)Ken R.
Yum! Delivery fee $2-
(5)Kurt P.
(4)CJ K.
Best pizza ever!! Been eatin here since I was a kid and been my favorite place ever since.
(5)Dave M.
Gyro was good, pizza could be better, was dry and needed more sauce. Pizza is a bit expensive for the quality. Staff were nice
(3)Bill A.
(5)Jacob T.
(5)
