Great service and even better food. The waiter was very friendly and was on top of refills of drinks and chips and salsa. I had the enchiladas and my boyfriend had the fajitas. It was a lot if food for the money. I have no complaints. Even the bathroom was clean.

Family vacation from Dallas Ft Worth and excited to find a Mexican food restaurant in Durango. Salsa was spicy and had a great flavor. Food portions are quite large. Food was fantastic. My family thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We ate in a restaurant by the same name in Moab, UT so thought we'd give this one a try. It did not disappoint. My husband had the Deluxe chicken nachos which he said were very good and plentiful. I had two beef enchilada plate. The beef was more like chili con carne although good I prefer my beef to be drier letting the sauce and cheese on the outside provide the moisture. Rice and beans very good. The hit of the dinner was the salsa ( chunky and spicy) and the Mexican cole slaw served with chips when we first sat down. EXCELLENT! tried a frozen margarita and it was a bit pricey and too much lime so it was bitter for our tastes. We would go back.

Very good food. The salsa is good. The best thing to order is the mokajete(spelling). OMG you won't be disappointed! You only need one for a family of four. Steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, nopales! It comes in a hot clay pot! You can not go wrong! So delicious you won't regret it

I had the Diablo steak. Very tasty, and a large portion. Service was good, atmosphere too. The kitchen was a bit slow, but the tasty salsa and chips kept me going. In general, very good, and the prices were reasonable.

Was told by a wacky lady at the rec center nearby that it was "OK" and to go 4 blocks down to "Zia" instead. We said the heck with that and took our chances with fiesta. The food was amazing, the host and waiter were awesome and fast. Food came out quick. I had the steak fehita and friend had the moolee. Best steak I ever had. We were in a hurry to leave and we got checked out quickly. Can't complain.

Avoid this restaurant if flavor of authentic Mexican food is what you are craving. The Burrito Verde and rice were extremely salty. I can tolerate slow service if the food is good, unfortunately this place earns a double strike.

AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Not that "health-mex-hippie-food" that you find in the area. Nothing against that type of food, but sometimes you want REAL Mexican. I'm from San Diego and this qualifies!!!

Coming from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, there are two things that are important, salsa and margaritas. This place excels in both. We were both pleased with out meals as welcome. Texmex at it's finest. A true delight.

Fiesta Mexicana is a chain of restaurants, mostly in Utah from memory. Anyway, we stopped in at the Durango location on New Years night because most other restaurants were closed. We were pleasantly surprised, while the food was average but the service was great.

The service is always terrible but the staff is beyond nice. They are just sloooooooow. The food is good and I've never had anything bad. If normal Mexican food is what you are after...nothing fancy or out of this world, this is your place. I have honestly not found anything better for the price in the area yet.

Took my family of 6. Had something for everyone and every enjoyed their meal. They are a bit stingy on the chips and salsa as the chip bowls were tiny. But they accommodated our requests to refill the bowls 4 or 5 times.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
