My husband and I had a delicious brunch here last Sunday! For one, the place has that very of-the-moment ode to the 19th century design: exposed brick walls, Edison light bulbs and hard wood floors. Some of it, I found to be a bit much (empty paint frames, cheese grater lamp shades). They have a full bar and creative menu of different versions of the Bloody Mary. My husband order the house and was not disappointed. I got a coffee and the Ham and Cheese breakfast sandwich which I ordered on a house-made biscuit. It completely hit the spot. My husband got the traditional English breakfast. They have an appetizing selection of different types of "Bennedictions" but we were a little too hung-over from the night before such a heavy first meal.

What a pleasant find in Durango...El Moro Tavern! The atmosphere is pretty cool and laid back with a wall-to-wall spirits selection. Make sure to show the kitchen the respect they deserve with ordering them a round of PBR! We had the Beet and Apple salad which was delicious but I would highly recommend getting the Meats and Cheese! They are wonderful and local! I had the Shrimp and Grits which had great heat/flavor to it but the fried grits were amazing and had such flavor to my palate! I would definitely recommend this item! We also had the Seared Scallops which were good.

Five Star! I had the Lamb Gyro with the salad. You can tell that this is a details oriented establishment. The salad was a perfect oil & vinegar on mixed greens. The lamb gyro was magnificent! On top of it all, the bar is as good as you'll find anywhere. They have everything & make a lot of unusual stuff. I had an old fashion with cherry house-made bitters!!!!!! OMG, take me to heaven now, because I've had the best old fashion I'll ever have!

This is a great place to drink and eat in Durango! The bar staff is very frendly and knowledgeable. They make there own biters and syrups in house, true artist. Best place for a cocktail or whiskey in Durango, try there Sazerac cocktail. Also the smores desert can not be missed.

Great food, not busy, excellent drinks, and one of the cutest atmospheres in Durango. This is not a Mexican restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

The Bacon and Swiss Chard Tagliatelle is to die for!!! Overall love this place, great ambience and lovely staff. We enjoyed a nice cheese plate to start and there were fun drinks and a good wine list. A couple of us enjoyed the Gyros but a warning that they are spicy. Ended the evening taking with us some of their incredible espresso popcorn. Would highly recommend this place if you're in Durango!

Just moved to Durango from Denver and so glad I found el Moro!!!!!! Elias was a real bartender who knows real drinks and watching him mix made me feel very confident in my cocktails! House made bitters and infusions, a huge beer list, plus extremely competent bartenders made this experience great. My new go-to for after dinner drinks.

This place is magnificent from excellent food to a great range of bottled craft and import beers! (Lots of Belgians) Also 6 draught beers available including Chimay and a Belgian Flanders sour which was amazing! The staff there are very knowledgeable and friendly. A definite must go to place when visiting Durango. Go see Dave and Bill!

Fantastic spot. Cocktails and beer section are great! My wife and I had dinner and Dave was our server. He was great and so was the food. We will always stop in here any time we are visiting Durango!

Best bar in town for interesting and tasty drinks. They have a phenomenal liquor selection including some hard-to-find bottles like Milagro's Special Reserve Silver tequila and Peach Street's Jackelope and Jenny pear gin. The bartenders are always great. The ambiance is phenomenal (I especially love the ceiling fans and the bathrooms - I've investigated them all!) The food is a bit lackluster and not particularly memorable, but the concepts are good and they use a lot of local foods (two thumbs up!!). Maybe some day I will find some items on the menu that really win me over, but for now the drinks are more than making up for the food. They even have some unique beers that you just can't find at the liquor store! Good service. Beautiful restaurant. Amazing drinks. Five stars!!!

Best breakfast place in Durango - no question. Sadly they only serve breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. It is priced reasonably and delicious! I discovered canadian poutine there - yummy!!

Easily one of the best places to dine in Durango! I've stopped in for lunch & dinner and the menu has a wide variety of choices. I'm no longer a red meat eater (medical reasons) so, the Pastramied Wild Salmon was an easy choice for a taste that I've missed for years. An unusual combo of flavors and stunningly good...my hat is off to the chef! All of the staff is great too. Be sure to check this place out!!

Today, we ate at El Morro, and Harry had an English breakfast with a cream biscuit ...oh my, with HOMEMADE strawberry jam and/or honey-sweet orange marmalade... while I had the Guido Italian breakfast muffin with a poached eggg, proscioutto, balsamic reduction, arugula... highly enjoyable! OH, and don't pass up the house Bloody Mary... Also, found the industrial décor elements fun, the box grater side lights and Mason jar chandelier lighting. also fun, the coal scoop for a faucet in the ladies room

This is now my #1 favorite restaurant in Durango. We ended up at El Moro by accident; May Palace was closed so we wandered down Main Street until we saw the sign and decided to try it. Boy were we in for a treat! There weren't too many people inside so we had our pick of tables, and our server was super nice and informative. We were provided with water right away (awesome!) and had some time to look over the menu. After much debate we decided to start with the Scotch egg and the Onion soup. Our waitress made the Scotch egg sound so delectable that we had to try it. And it was AMAZING. I've never had one before but I'm definitely going to come back to El Moro and order it again. It's basically a medium boiled egg covered in ground pork and fried, then topped with pea greens and some yummy mustard. DELICIOUS. It was tasty, flavorful and not greasy at all! 5/5 for sure. The onion soup paled in comparison to the egg but I will say the bread covered in Gruyere was yummy. I never like the crouton-y cheese covered bread that is traditional to a French Onion Soup, but this time I did! The onions and broth were good but didn't have the depth of flavor that was expected. For main courses I ordered the Cuban sandwich, my mom had the burger, and my dad had the sausage/hot dog. Each sandwich can be accompanied with fries or a salad. My advice: Get the SALAD. This isn't a "Be Healthy" pitch, but seriously the salad was huge and delicious and the dressing was great! As for the sandwiches, the Cuban and Burger were spot on. I loved the flavor of the pork melded with cheese and perfectly toasted bread. They were a little heavy on the mayo but I was able to scrape that off no problem. My mom thoroughly enjoyed the burger which was grass-fed and cooked to a perfect medium. Lots of veggies piled on top too! My dad was a bit sad about his plate because the sausage was quite salty and the bread was nothing special... but we shared and the awesomeness of the appetizers and the other two sandwiches made up for it :) In the end excellent service (our waitress explained each course thoroughly), phenomenal food, reasonable prices, great portions, and awesome ambiance (nice pictures of old Durango). I will be back as soon as possible!!

I had what can only be described as one of the best meals of my life last night. I've traveled around the world, to over 30 countries, and across the United States. My husband and I were taking a road trip and stopped in to this restaurant only knowing it had some great history. I had no idea what the menu looked like so it was a bit risky. We ordered the beet and apple salad to start, which came with a curry vinegarette.. It was such an explosion of flavors, even my husband who is not a salad man LOVED it. So interesting. For dinner I ordered the pastrami sliced wild salmon with risotto and asparagus. Somehow, they created a dish of your typical salmon and risotto that pretty much tastes like a pastrami sandwich on rye with mustard. The risotto was flavored with caraway and gave it that rye flavor, the asparagus was in a mustard sauce that was incredible.. My husband ordered the bacon and Swiss chard tagliatelle. They make their own pasta and it was perfectly cooked. The bacon is cured IN HOUSE as well and it was just heavenly. I could go on forever. I love this place and if you don't go, you're missing out on culinary greatness!! Thanks to our waiter/food enthusiast DAVE for giving us such great recommendations and just being so cool.

WoW! Old timely saloon from the turn of the century We are driving cross country from Miami to San Diego and this was by a long shot Best food ever! Our waiter,Dave, suggested a few things that sounded great.....BUT, they were surprisingly BETTER! Seriously ?! YES We started with Dave's suggestion of the beet & apple salad. (I don't do beet). It was out of this world explosions of flavors in our mouths! Entree was Bacon & Swiss Chard Tagliatelle.(I would never had ordered this), but Dave said its to die for....It was! Unbelievable Beyond description! Melt in your mouth My wife's entree was equally wonderful. Pastrami spiced wild Salmon....best salmon The chocolate dessert was CHOCOLATE BY DEATH! I'll be baaaaack

We came here for dinner around 9:00pm on a Saturday night and were seated right away. Our waiter was awesome- super great service, friendly and took a picture of us with their hanging picture frame. We both ordered some beers which were recommended by our water...our beers (which I can't remember the name of, of course) were really good. They have a lot of options, so you'll definitely be satisfied in that regard. We ordered the Gyro plate with fries. The Gyro was excellent- instead of strips of lamb they did meatballs which I thought was different. The Gyro isn't huge, it's just right. Their fries were so good! I loved the atmosphere, very unique. The lighting was cool and I liked the projector they had going with old school movies. Bathrooms were very clean! I'll be back again!

First trip to durango and this has been the best restaurant BY FAR. Amazing cheese options, the shrimp and grits was the best I've ever had, espresso crusted steak was to die for and that's just the food. I tried a few of the cocktails including the 945 sour and the california Waltz. Both were amazing. I can't understand why there aren't more reviews about the food but I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting the area. You will not be dissapointed. A MUST TRY! I will be back. The shrimp and grits have found a place in my heart.

Decent birthday dinner but nothing to write home about. Service was weird until I mentioned it was my birthday and then the waitress became a lot more friendly. Flank steak was only okay--way too much food for one meal and I felt terrible wasting about half of it but traveling, there's nowhere to put it to eat later. I would give them another try but would definitely order something different.

Tourist trap. Not many taps. Walked in and out and no one seemed to care. Was looking for a good place for some local , CO, beers. Disappointed.

Great dinner! Service was fantastic and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend. We started with the burrata, then the apple and beat salad, which were tasty. I had the flank steak and my husband had the tagliatelle with bacon and chard, both were great. Best craft beer selection we found in Durango.

One of my first stops in Durango.... a great one at that. This tavern is seriously cool. Esthetically, there are so many details that were put into it's design, the decor, even the bathrooms... I wanted to take pictures of so many things - oh wait, I did! The bar is fully stocked, beautifully crafted and organized well. The bartenders were friendly, casual and interested in making connections with you instead of getting you out of their queue.... that's the "Houston" in me talking... Durango is a world unto itself. Check out the photos I posted - the attention to details is alive and well here - in the atmosphere, in the staff, in the creation of your food and drink, in the walls. So very cool.

We stayed in Durango for a week, and this was my favorite restaurant. The menu isn't extensive, and I think all of us ordered some sort of sandwich plus appetizer, but all of it was deliciously prepared. The melted brie appetizer with the caramelized orange slices was remarkable. It's a casual place, may focus on being a bar, but we didn't have any alcohol and it was great.

I'm a whiskey fan and have been in many bars in Colorado. El Moro has the largest selection of bourbon & rye I have seen in the state. I had three shots of whiskeys that I had only read about online but had never seen in the bottle. Nirvana! The bar itself is a thing of beauty and the food is great too. And to top it off, the owner is a really nice guy who is as passionate about great whiskey as I am. Thanks, El Moro and we'll definitely be back!

Cool little trendy spot for great libations and food! I had a scallop special while I was back home with family, that coupled with a traditional Moscow Mule in a pretty sweet cold copper mug was a fantastic lite dinner option. The only downside is that it's a bit pricy, but surely worth every penny. The atmosphere is really pretty cool also, with industrial style lines, an old library style rolling latter in the bar and brick ensemble, it's a pretty awesome spot for drinks, dinner or both.

  • Chloé R.

Best bar in town. Amazing selection of spirits, beers, and wine. Moscow mules are the best in Durango. Amazing decor. Clean, swanky, interesting lighting. Mason jar decoration throughout. Friendly and knowledgable bartenders. Friendly staff. Amazing chefs. House wines cheap and excellent. Onion soup, cheese plates, Tagliatelle, and Cuban highly recommended. Great vibe.

Very high priced with poor quality food. All dishes were served lukewarm to cold. Portion size is very small, especially the mussels with linguine. Many mussels in the dish were served unopened. Eating these mussels can make one very sick if they don't know better. Waiters are very pushy especially in trying to get you to buy the most expensive CO wine. The menu is also quite small with little variation. Don't let the fancy ambience fool you. Stay away from this mediocre establishment.

We enjoyed our lunch of a lamb burger and a Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich. The serving size was more than ample. The flavor was really wonderful for both of our choices. It was raining the day we visited and the room was a bit cool so I would suggest the staff watch the temperature to insure the comfort of guests. Our wait staff, Cristal, was attentive, helpful and informative. We would return if we lived local.

Upscale and fancy. Went on New Year's Eve so it was very busy. They should have staffed accordingly. The service was extremely slow. Waited at least 30 mins to finally get our drink order. I had the grilled cheese sandwhich and it was very good!

Another place for for my places to go! A nice atmosphere with very laid back service! The food was a palate charger for my tongue! Starting with the appetizer, the pork rillets, and onto my entree the prime rib each bite was exquisite and my taste buds were heightened! I strongly suggest this place for people who want to try something new! Overall a very excellent place to eat at!

We were wandering around Durango looking for Sunday brunch and as luck would have it, we walked into El Moro. What a nice surprise! The menu is creative which made the decision difficult but I decided on the crab cake with poached eggs and creole hollandaise. It was amazing. And must add that they make a delicious Bloody Mary.

  • Karim F.

Amazing collection of big beers on tap, and in bottles. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The service was top notch, from being greeted at the door, to our leaving the establishment. We had the chance to try the Scotch Eggs, and they were delicious! We can't wait to go back there again! Our new favorite bar in Durango!

  • Delilah G.

The food is good, the breakfast is to die for ! All of the different egg benedictions are amazing, along with their eclectic list of delicious Bloody Mary's! Their other drinks are pretty incredible as well, the bartenders certainly deserve the title of mixologists ! My only complaint is how slow the service tends to be, especially when ordering a simple drink, I am not an impatient person either, but sometimes the amount of time I've had to wait for a drink is insane. Overall def a great choice! Just speed up the drink service please!

What is there not to love about this place? Do you like beer? Well El Moro has the best beer selection in Durango. Do you not like beer? Well, we should talk about that..... but perhaps later. Are you into Scotch or Bourbon then? Their selection is fantastic. Beer and Whiskeys not your thing? How about martinis or mixed drinks? A fantastic drink list awaits you, with rarities like homemade bitters and homemade grenadine. That is just the adult themed beverages. The theme and the decor in El Moro could not be cooler, Everything seems completely thought out. From the light bulbs, to their coverings, to the plumbing in the bathroom, this place is just cool. Now the food, oh the food. To be fair, I haven't eaten everything on the menu, but everything that I have eaten I have LOVED. Some of my favorites are the Scottish Egg (Which comes out perfect, it may look a little done, but it is cooked perfect), the Chorizo Sausage (All of the cheese and meats in the charcuterie are fantastic, but the Chorizo sausage is my favorite), even the French Fries are fantastic. All of that said, I think the 2nd best part of El Moro is the breakfast. As much as I love Durango, there are few good breakfast places, and those that exist have big lines on the weekends. El Moro's breakfast/ brunch menu will rival or beat anything else in town, and there is NO WAIT. At least until you all find out about it. You may be asking, 2nd best? Well then what is the best? Well that my friend is the people. i have met some fantastic people there and had some amazing service. It helped that many were named Dave or David, easier to remember. Do yourself a favor, check this place out.

A mix of modern and rustic, this spot is one of my go-to's when in Durango. I'm a city girl and this has the feel of a cool bar in LA or Denver. Grab a seat at the bar. If you like beer: You can get yourself a tall boy in a brown bag for just a couple bucks. Feeling classy? Get a Colorado mule in a copper mug. Like whiskey? They do to, they have many to choose from! At Brunch? Get the Pimm's Cup. For all the foodies, I was amazed by their menu. Everything, I mean everything, was local, and from the best ingredients. I have tried the Green Goddess salad, the dressing is creamy and citrusy- I crave it! If you go on a cooler day, get the grilled cheese! It's such a treat. Another that you'll crave when you leave. It's got local cheese and a few thick slices of bacon on toasty bread. Get it with a side of their fries- peelings still on, shoestring style, with just the right amount of salt - the best!! Love it there.

After first visiting this restaurant randomly with friends while in Durango, quickly it was found out that the bartender had as much of a passion for whiskey cocktails as I have. He made me some amazing variations of manhattans. We came back for dinner and enjoyed the food just as much as the cocktails we'd had the previous night. We started out with the vibe marrow that was quite amazing. We then had a delicious charcuterie board. My entree was the salmon with Brussels sprouts. The salmon was a bit over cooked but the meal in general was very good. The mustard vinaigrette on the Brussels sprouts was great. If you're at all interested in the vibe and feel of a city restaurant with great local produce and great artisnal cocktails, this is the place to go in Durango.

Best spot in town/Main St area in my opinion. You can go for a nice beer/cocktail, or a nice dinner with your partner. Also, easily the best beer list bar and it changes frequently. Dave and Dave are awesome behind the bar. Great vibe and ambiance. A+ all around

Most pretentious place I've ever eaten. You can't even order a "normal" beer. I don't mean a PBR, I mean just a amber or larger from some craft brewery. Everything was some imperial or specialty beer. And they charged $10. Out of the 6 dishes we tried, 2 were good and the rest had issues. I get better fried pawns at the local bar. And the fries that came with it were worse than than frozen from Safeway. Crappy tomato paste on a good steak? Really? My friend took two bites. The sauce was not eatable to three people. Did they offer another one? Nope. They even brought the wrong drink. Our complaints were met with "Glad you like it" and they wouldn't take anything off the bill. $127 for 3 people. By far the worse meal I've had in Durango. My friend liked the appetizers (both meat based so I passed). but nobody like any of the entrees. My recommendations is it's a beautiful room. Maybe have a appetizers at the bar. Maybe. But any place really is better than here.

Good food, but can be over priced. I've eaten here a few times. Really like the flank steak. Last time I ordered scallops--they were good, but the miniscule portion didn't match $$$ spent. Order cautiously, and expect to pay New York prices. Friendly, casual atmosphere ... of course. After all, you're dining in Durango. Bike shorts and yoga pants acceptable.

We celebrated my 50th Birthday at El Moro on August 2, 2014. What a fantastic evening of food, family and friends. There were so many menu items that I wanted to try, so I decided to order from the start of the menu at Bar Food on to Cheese/Sausage Plates, Bone Marrow, Pork Rillets, Scotch Egg, Molten Brie, Buffalo Chicken Sausage, Jalepeno Sausage, Ancho Rubbed Scallops, Flank Steak, Bacon and Swiss Chard Tagliatelle. The menu choices were placed in the center of the table and we all did small bites of everything. The food was Fabulous! Nick our server for the evening was "The Bomb"! We can't wait to go back for Brunch, which is equally fantastic on it's own. El Moro is a MUST, if you are spending any time in Durango.

I practically get my mail at this place. One of two places in Durango where I will drink on the regular. The staff are knowledgable and passionate about cocktails, and that makes it a step above most bars... Or saloons. Dave, David, Leisha, Kurt, Sara and Sweater Bill are all fantastic.

We had their Sunday brunch and thoroughly enjoyed everything. It's English style which compliments the hipster/steam punk aesthetic. My wife got the biscuits and gravy and I got the full English breakfast. Everything was delicious including the drip coffee and the service was attentive. For all that, the prices were very reasonable and we'll definitely be back!

We have gone back because it is the BEST bar in Durango with killer drinks. It is also upscale in regards of the rest. The restaurant is beautiful and we came with big expectations because of all the great reviews. We had the beer salad which was terrible, soggy and forgettable (we even told the waitress that and to take it away and to our surprise was still in the bill), girls ordered mac and cheese it was great maybe a bit too salty but tasty. My son ordered the burger and he seemed happy with it, I ordered the turkey sandwich and it was like warm and very average, my wife ordered the salmon burger the bun was giant and the salmon dry so below average as well.Deserts were just ok and forgettable (s'mores and their homemade ice cream). One thing was our server Tyler was excellent and attentive and their staff in general seemed eager to please. Our verdict: killer bar which we will go back for cocktails tonight/ average restaurant perhaps because it is new and needs tweaking won't be coming back this trip but maybe in the future.

I recently ate here for brunch and it was excellent. I had the Jose benedict and loved it! My husband enjoyed the breakfast poutine and the mimosas were the perfect addition! Very unique and delicious menu. I can't wait to make it back to try the dinner menu.

Great selection of beer and wine. Pork rillettes were perfection! Really enjoyed the wild boar sausage with cheese and baguette. Scallops melted like butter. Chocolate pate with peanut brittle was very good, but would suggest going with a different dessert next time. Atmosphere was super intriguing with industrial look. Be sure to check out creativity and ingenuity in the bathrooms. I plan to make this a favorite stop next time I'm in Durango!

El Moro is the perfect place for drinks with friends! They have the best Moscow Mule in town. I always come here for brunch on the weekends where they offer a variety of benedicts and an awesome English breakfast! On Saturdays they usually give you a free mimosa with your breakfast, which right there makes El Moro the best brunch in town. On top of having top notch food, they also have excellent service and a beautiful rustic environment. I recommend El Moro to everyone!!

I've been twice so far, once for HH, once for dinner. Service is great, beer and wine list is great, food is great. We had the buffalo chicken sausage and scotch egg for HH, both tasted great and were a fun new twist for appetizers. Dinner was also a hit, I had the prawns and chips which were great, my husband had the cuban, also fantastic. Can't really think of any criticism, tho I've heard people say they think it is pricey for the portions. I do think Durango is kind of stuck in the dark ages when it comes to prices tho-- perfectly reasonable for most places.

we used to go here all the time, and at one point i would have given them 4 stars, but service has been so consistently terrible that i will never come back ( and i trashed my frequent diner card). the funny thing is, management doesn't even seem to care, because i've brought this up with them multiple times before and no positive changes or even an apology ever happen- they just told me to 'try again another time.' (i did try again and had an even worse experience so of course that is why i won't be back.) it's a shame because the food is pretty good, but not good enough to warrant the high prices or having to endure the bad attitudes. i guess they've just rested on their laurels of being the new [too] 'cool' place in Durango. i've talked to a lot of other people about this as most people know me as a person who knows the best places to eat and drink in Durango, and whenever i brought this place up the consensus seems to be the same- something along the lines of 'worst service ever." so they get 2 stars because at least the kitchen is doing ok, but the entire front of house, managers included, need an attitude adjustment (or just a new line of work). they've lost me as a customer and i'm sure with Durango being as small as it is, they can only offend so many more locals before they won't have any more repeat customers.

Some friends and I had decided to check out this new spot and have a couple drinks since I had an extra night in town. At first walking in I noticed the interesting light fixtures that were canning jars made into hanging light chandeliers and light sconces made of cheese graters. Awesome! The staff was very accommodating, suggesting drinks that would fulfill a sweet tooth. The nutty Irishman totally hit the spot for a much needed warm coffee booze drink . I was also talked into having this delicious s'mores dessert! It was divine. Thanks again Jacob. If I ever come back to Durango I'll definitely stop in again.

They just opened for business so I'll go easy on them (seems a mistake not to go all out in the beginning with extra servers and kitchen staff to impress the locals but whatever) and we walked in with a 5 top just as our waiter got slammed with a couple bigger tables so I suppose waiting an hour for drinks is to be expected. First, the good. There is a massive two sided beer list so make sure you get a couple for your table if you like beer because it will take awhile to decide. The food menu is pretty amazing with lots of good meat and delicious sounding appetizers. The decor is pretty cool but the space is a bit loud. My wife had the lamb burger and thought it was delicious. I went for the Pastramied Wild Salmon which the waiter suggested I get cooked Medium so I was surprised to find it well done. It tasted ok but was definitely over cooked. My friend got a scotch egg that looked like it was left under the heat lamp so I'll chalk it all up to just opening and working out the kinks. I'll give it another shot in a couple months. Lots of potential just not completely there yet. It's the same owners as Steamworks so I'm pretty confident they will get it together.

Very creative menu & cocktails. Great atmosphere & interior. Knowledgeable & friendly staff. Drinks & beers are a teeny spendy, but delicious selection! Maybe could have a few more choices on draft. But all in all....SWEET place!!

Best Meal we had on our vacation out west. Our server was delightful and made recommendations which we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend the beet salad and the bacon and swiss chard tagliatelle.

I did not get any food, so I will focus on the cocktails. We went in and found some seats at the end of the bar, as it was pretty crowded on Friday night. Loved the fixtures - Edison bulbs in mason jars, cheese grater sconces, and the ceiling fans with chains connecting them - very cool space. Had 2 expertly made cocktails, a Tuxedo and a Pisco Sour. We did look at the food menu, and would like to come back and try it! I also enjoyed learning the history of the locale - gives it a nice Wild West feel :)

Very impressed with the food, drinks, and service. Jacqueline was an incredible server. Prompt without hovering. Appetizers were great and drinks were well made. I will be back

Been there twice. First time was three days after opening. We sat at the bar for something cold to drink and maybe a small bite. Plenty of staff but they were understandably overwhelmed. The small plate never came up, we pulled the plug after an hour, they comped the drinks. On the return visit I was buying a birthday dinner for a buddy. The room is loud, not where to go if you are looking for an intimante spot. The menu is very meat centric, charcuterie , and sausages make up a large part. I am a typical protein junkie guy, and I thought the menu should have more greens on it. The staff ( again plenty of them and attentive) was not particularly well versed on the beer or food menus. Grass fed?, the rib eye was, the short rib not, a disconnect for a farm to table concept. I had the rib eye, tender not very flavorful meat but the basaltic reduction on it was really tasty. Over frites, thought the plate should have a little green on it, maybe a couple of asparagus spears or just a garnish. He had the veggie sandwich and thought it was good not great. Beer menu was esoteric and broad. Maybe I am too harsh a critic as I have always thought their other restaurant , Steamworks, is over rated and mystifyingly busy. I will give them more time before another visit. Close but still work to be done.
