Awesome fish tacos, decent staff, but who cares I would come for the fish tacos if they were dressed in clown suits. We are so luckily to be the only other state with Wahoo's

I haven't had a burrito this good since San Francisco. The special burrito (I forgot what they call it) with blackened fish is great. My only complaint is that it was a tad small from what I am used to. Nevertheless, the flavors were nice, not wimpy or overpowering, and well balanced. Of course, it wasn't what I would call spicy, but I don't like spicy, anyway.

OK this "3" is an average and has the statistical inaccuracy of an average. I would give it a "5" for "best place to stop for cold brew and appetizers in the mid to late afternoon while near Colorado Blvd". Why? It's convenient, quick counter service, good AC and cheap beers. For the food I MUCH prefer the fish tacos down the street at Belcaro Shopping Center, Rubio's.

First time here and I loved it. Had the blackened fish bowl and I was not disappointed. The green sauce (not sure what it's called) they give you was what made the fish good. Good service and good food, can get busy during lunch so come earlier or later and you won't be disappointed. Wish they had these here where I live now.

Fast, tasty, clean, orderly, with good service, and good food. Nothing outstanding about this store, but nothing to detract from it, either. I had the Wahoo bowl with blackened fish, cajun beans, and white rice. Pleasantly spicy and tasty. My wife had a salad with a generous slab of salmon. Fish was done properly, but not overcooked.

I do like this place. The craving started during pregnancy 5 years ago. The staff is friendly and patient with all the children they have on Thursday night, when 2 kids eat free for each adult meal purchased. Iusually order the #2 with a blackened fish taco and shrimp enchilada with green sauce, brown rice and white beans. The steak sandwich is good too. We do at least once a week.

The food is good, even above average for the price point. The service staff is always exceptional. Sides portions are huge, except for gauc, but that's par for the course. I recommend fish tacos blackened. Only odd thing is Dan the manager. He's got something odd going on for a manager, seems like some customers are invisible every time. As many times as we visit, as he works the floor checking tables, he never has asked how we are doing. It seems a certain segment of guest get checked on many times, while others don't catch his eye. Thankfully, this isn't reflected in the rest of the staff-- they are quick and helpful.

When I first heard of Wahoo's fish tacos, I didn't think it sounded appealing, at all. But a friend told me how awesome it was and I figured I would give them a try. I am so glad I did. I love the flavor of blackened fish tacos. A nice spicy taste that goes well with some lime squeezed on it. The chain has a nice feel to it, not too corporate, but still delivers on consistency. It's not the most amazing experience ever, but it is pretty good, and if I'm in the area and am craving something inexpensive but also somewhat healthy, I go here.

I haven't had anything except the Cajun salmon fish tacos and they are wonderful! I love fish, and was thrilled when I saw that their salmon was wild caught instead of farm raised. Also, most places I go to fry instead of grill the fish for the tacos, here you have the option of either and I will always recommend the grilled! The price is also fair for the amount of fish you get, I believe one taco is around $2.50, not bad in my opinion! If you're a margarita fan they also have a pretty good margarita that's not too sweet and a generous amount of tequila in it! If you go between 4-7 you get $1 off and free chips and salsa!

Visiting from FL. The place looked interesting so we stopped in. My wife and I thought everything was very fresh tasting and vibrant looking. She got the Bonzai Bowl chicken. Great portion with lots of veggies. I got the Wahoo tacos. There was a big whole piece of fish in each taco instead of little chopped pieces. The brown rice option was nice and the Cajun white beans were a nice touch. This place would be a huge hit on the beach somewhere.

Wahoos is a great joint for those who just want a little something something that is different from Mexican and different from Asian. You get a little bit of taco or burrito but with a different flair. i like the naked bowls with a little hot sauce. I tend to like this place when I don't think I am hungry but need something to eat. Great patio and good place to bring your doggie!

I love wahoo's! Everytime I go there, it's excellent. Most places taste like they are a chain, but they managed to avoid that part. The green chile sauce is amazing, don't be stubborn, try it, you won't regret it!!!

I just realized that I'm currently eating something like one dinner in 10 here. I must like it. It's more like an addiction, really. It's the green sauce. I love the way it softly burns my lips, tongue, and throat. The effect is almost narcotic.

I'm a huge fan of the blackened fish taco platter here, they are dynamite! The platter comes with a choice of rice and beans. The cabbage slaw on the tacos is delicious and I can't get enough of their fresh salsa. The only place that *might* have better fish tacos is Baja Fresh. The smothered Bonzai burrito is also an excellent choice. I go for the shrimp burrito when I'm in the burrito mood, delicious! Parking here completely sucks, so try the opposite site of the building by Starbucks.

Superb fish taco's and casual vibe. Quick counter service, ice tea was great, menu is stacked and counter service is quick and easy. Underestimated the portions and got a Kahuna Combo (1 fish taco, 1 chicken burrito), which also came with rice and beans. I barely ate half my meal...

Some of the best fast food around. Their Margs are great too! I love the blacked fish and Cajan beans, although they could have more spice, I'm not complaining. Hit them up for happy hour, you won't regret it. Very clean, friendly, and fast.

Awesome Grilled Salmon Tacos! Get the green sauce! Delicious white rice and black beans on the side. Reasonably priced. Great service! =]

Wet banzai burritos are the sh*t! Steamed veggies and meat (I usually get teriyaki steak or shrimp) and smoothered in green sauce (not sure what's I the green sauce but I think it can cure cancer). Their margaritas are amazing! Nice and strong too! Like really strong! Go for happy hour and get free chips and salsa!

I do like Fish Tacos. When in Los Angles we went to Wahoo and were excited. . .oh boy FIsh tacos! It was only when we returned to Denver did we happen to notice that the Fish Taco's at Wahoo were available locally as well. These days I find myself more inclined to do fish taco's at Yolando's (only two locations) and they seem more the "traditional" style. Wahoo fish tacos are good - and solid. The best part about Wahoo is that its a nice, clean, effecient eatery. We normally don't frequent chains (as a rule) and national ones even less. Yet when you have two tired kids and are hungry on the way home from the Science Musuem you can count on Wahoo

  • Michael P.

Fast service, friendly help, but food not seasoned well. Could not have asked for anything better about the wait staff there as our food got to our table within 5 minutes. But there is a lack of seasoning on the fish, pork, or shrimp tacos. This location would easily be a 4 or 5 star if the food was done well. Fair price, could be better.

I'm in the process of relocating to Denver from Houston and have been worried about the quality of Mexican food I might find! We stopped by Wahoo's last night for a late dinner and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere was fun and casual. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I ordered a Wahoo Salad with Vegetarian filling and loved it. The guacamole was as good as it gets and all of the other ingredients were fresh and tasty. My hubster had fish tacos and the kids had burritos. Everyone was happy! YAY!

Not super impressed. I've really tried to like it because I feel like it's a bit healthier than my normal faster food. Maybe I'm just not getting the right thing but I'll pass the next time I drive by.

It's always nice to have a taste of 'home' when you move to a new city. And although I am not from California, I lived there long enough that Wahoo's was one of my favorite spots to go! I like the laid back atmosphere of it, the beach feel, but also every location I go to the people who work there are amazing. The only difference here in Denver is that they actually showed something other than surfing videos on the TV's, which is a welcomed change! ;) As for the food, I normally get either the grilled or blackened fish taco (a la carte) and these two options are just perfect for me. If I go on my personal time, I normally grab a beer as they have cheap beers and sometimes a beer on special. If you haven't given this place a chance then you should definitely check it out.

Rarely does yelp let me down, but this time was a bust. Yuck & ick. Tasteless, poor quality fish & expensive...I cannot understand the overall four star yelp rating here. Who's eating this crap? After my first experience, I wouldn't eat here again for free. Left hungry & pissed off. For a casual cafeteria style joint, we waited nearly 20 mins for our food. Several parties who ordered after us received their food before we did.

I come here on Thursdays for kids eat free night. The food is good and the atmosphere is perfect for my kids. It has the vibe that it should be located next to a beach. The staff is always friendly too.

LOOOOOOOVE this place. Love the atmosphere, love the food, but the parking can be a pain in the keister during the busy work day lunch period. I like that the food can be a healthier fast-food option than most fast food.

This was on my bucket list of places to try. I was not impressed by the pulled pork and coleslaw sandwich. I am from the south and have definitely eaten better. Definitely a disappointment. Maybe, I just didn't get the right entrée?

I have to now recommend the Blackened Fish Enchilada! Get it with red sauce..awesome! I tried their side salad today, instead of black beans (my norm), and it was great! Very simple: fresh lettuce, carrot and balsamic. Another great meal at a cool, friendly establishment.

Wahoo's is the perfect fast healthy choice when out running errands. Ask to have your fish undercooked a touch.

    (5)
  • Camden T.

The salmon was a bit dry and the rice was not cooked properly (it was slightly crunchy). Nonetheless I liked the taste of the enchiladas so I'll probably try them again another time and hope it's better.

I love Wahoo's! This is my go to "fast food" choice when we eat out. We were moving and the process took two weeks. We ate out WAY too much but I had no complaints the three time we ate here in that time period. I love that it's essentially a healthy option and it tastes great. I LOVE that they have queso, I can't come in here and not order some. I love the fish tacos and always wind up dunking them in the queso. Writing this is making me hungry! I think I know where I'm heading for a late lunch.

I love Wahoo's! I have one right by my work and I frequently visit for their blackened fish tacos. The food is conistently awesome and so fresh tasting. Their fish tacos are the bomb. The fish is always cooked perfectly and has exceptional flavor. I particularly enjoy Mr. Lee's Hot Sauce on top of the tacos. Wahoo's is a cool local joint worth checking out for a quick meal. They have a chill feel and a nice patio. I think they blow all the other fast-food Mexican places out of the water. So, check them out!

It had been almost nine years since I'd eaten at a Wahoo's - ever since we moved from San Diego to the Ft Worth area. Now we live in Denver and what did I happen to see while driving down Colorado Blvd one day? YES, a Wahoo's! Some days I want a quick, inexpensive (i.e. cheap), and healthy lunch where I don't have to deal with servers (and tips). And for some reason I crave the Wahoo bowl with Wahoo, black beans, white rice (don't judge), and extra pico (makes a pretty plate/bowl, too!). We've been in Denver two weeks and I've already eaten here twice (same thing both times - actually, I've never ordered anything over the years other than the above-mentioned Wahoo bowl - perhaps I'll branch out one day...).

After a long day of traveling, this was our first stop in Denver. My friend who I was visiting recommended it to me. I was amazed at how awesome this place is! The food was delicious! I got a chicken burrito bowl, queso, and salsa (very hungry after a 5 hour flight!). I eat Mexican food everywhere I go and I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Service was super fast. You order at the counter, then they bring your food to the table. Everything was super fresh. I could have eaten bowls of their salsa! They also have phenomenal margaritas! I usually don't ever finish meals but everything was so delicious I ate my entire bowl. The decor inside reminded me of a beach town restaurant. It is a very chill and relaxed place. Will definitely be going back before our trip is over! HIGHLY recommend!!

OK, I am going to depart from all of the praise here. Let me start by saying I don't like fish..period. In a taco, in a bus, on a house, on a plane...I don't like taco's anywhere. So..I went with the steak burrito. My order was with "very little beans...mostly meat." Well, what I got was mostly beans, very little meat. The flavor was OK...not great...but good. One end of the burrito had NO meat in it. If they would put a decent amount of meat in their burritos I would probably have given them 4 stars.

I'm not a seafood guy, but I decided to try Wahoo's while on a trip to Denver after reading their menu and seeing lots of non-seafood options. The carne asada taco was simply sublime. The cajun chicken taco was above average. However, the brown rice stole the show. I could've probably eaten an entire plate of the brown rice, which puts many Asian restaurants to shame. Super friendly service that went above and beyond the typical service at a counter service chain restaurant. They were patient while I asked questions about the menu, more than accommodating on substitutions, and even checked by my table to ask how I liked my food. Being a Texan, though, I'd have appreciated a salsa bar to provide me some options to jazz up my tacos.

  • Sterling M.

Love the tacos, but I wish the beer prices were cheaper.

    (4)
  • Jeff G.

Inexpensive and very fresh tasting, especially for fast food. This location also features very friendly service and a tasty margarita in a tall pint glass for a wallet-friendly five bucks. (Don't believe Yelp - this location does in fact serve more alcohol than just beer and wine) The atmosphere was surf/skate themed and very "chill". I heartily recommend getting the green sauce-smothered Outer Reef, which would still be a good buy even at twice the price.

I started coming here last year due to my stepson and boyfriend's love of this place. I was a bit leery. I only knew (from the name of the business) that they served fish tacos. Fish tacos did not sound too exciting to me. Although I've lived in Colorado for 17 years, I'd just had no desire to ever try their food. However, one night the bf and stepson had a craving for Wahoo's. I figured I'd take one for the team and check it out. My first meal there was pretty meh. I had one of the banzai bowls, similar to Asian chicken & rice bowls, but I was not bowled over. However, a friend suggested that I stick with the "Mexican" side of the menu and I would be fine. Since this place had already become a huge family favorite, I knew I would have to find something on the menu to suit my admittedly picky tastes. The next time I went back, I had chicken tacos and I enjoyed it. My bf likes to get a fish burrito. Since the early heydays, we come here often. Sometimes we stop in and eat in, maybe have a margarita and get chips and salsa. Other times, we take it to go. My favorites are the chicken enchilada, quesadilla and the fish sandwich (blackened). So good. We come here at least once or twice a month for a quick dinner or lunch on the weekend. I can't get enough, but I still haven't tried the fish tacos yet. Maybe next time!

Awesome ambience and atmosphere! Delicious food! I had a carnitas burrito, and it was definitely tasty. It was just missing a little kick. I needed some sort of spicy salsa. I do like all the stickers plastered all over the restaurant. It adds a pretty cool flair to the place. The parking spaces are undersized for a regular F-150 though. When a couple inches matter for parking, its easy to tell what places have generous parking lot spaces, and which don't. They're just packed in!

I've enjoyed wahoos but last couple times seemed disappointing. The fish smelled very fishy and seemed pre cooked and wasn't very good and overall the good was only mildly warm. I may or may not return. Disappointing nonetheless.

This was my first visit to Wahoo's and it won't be the last. Took some of my peeps out to this location and was not disappointed. Everyone loved their dishes. Onion rings were awesome!! they were the first to go. I had a mix of three different tacos, chicken, shrimp, and blackened fish. Each one was cooked perfectly and was quite tasty. Parking does suck, but if you look on the side street on the northeast side, should be able to find something that works. While I generally see chain restaurants as a last resort, this one is probably one that provides a great alternative to the run of the mill burger joints. I know in my part of colorado, there is really not an alternative like this (whether it be a chain or local), so this will be a place to visit in the future.

If you want fast, cheap, and relatively healthy bland food... This is the place for you. I love the fact that I can grab a bowl of brown rice, black beans, and grilled fish, and within a matter of moments be back on my way to work. There have been times though where I felt like an apology was owed to the poor fished they crudely destroyed by cooking for WAY too long. This place is what it is... A fast food chain with a healthier menu than most and wont hurt the wallet.

I have been here numerous times and still feel overwhelmed by the menu and the rush to order. Not that they make you feel rushed, or there is a tremendous amount to choose from, I just don't know what it is. I brought home a menu the last time I was there so I can prepare myself before hand I guess cause the food is good and I want to experiment and try new things. Wahoo's serves up my favorite veggie quesadilla. They don't skimp on the grilled veggies, they are fresh and don't have that overly grilled flavor as some similar eateries tend to have. The cheese is melty but not greasy. A whole quesadilla is way too much for me, so they usually let me slide with the kid's meal, which is half the quesadilla and a side of rice and beans. They have black beans and spicy cajun beans, both are pretty decent. I've tried various bowls and burritos. I do prefer the bowls however. If I do go for a burrito, the Banzi is good with shrimp and green sauce. It's really everything you could possibly fit into a giant tortilla. A bit over the top, but good. I enjoy the Wahoo and the Veggie bowls. I prefer the grilled fish, the blackened is a bit too much spice for me. One of my favorite thing about Wahoo's is the option of brown rice, I wish other places would catch onto this. Funny, I've never tried a fish taco here...hum

I moved here from SoCal 9 months ago, and only today went to the Wahoo's on Colorado Blvd. I should've waited until I visited California. I have been going to Wahoo's since I can remember, and love the simplicity of the menu and clean flavors. This time, I ordered two grilled fish tacos and 1 shrimp taco. My boyfriend ordered a banzai veggie taco, mushroom enchilada, and shrimp enchilada. First, the grilled tacos came out as blackened, and the banzai veggie taco was nothing but rice, beans, and cabbage (unlike the delicious list of veggies on the menu). I decided to not return my tacos and just have the blackened fish since everything on the menu is usually good. Unfortunately this was a mistake... Quite simply, the blackened fish tacos tasted like feet. The "Banzai" taco was a corn tortilla with beans and rice in it...I am certain, however, that they just completely screwed up the order. I was disappointed that the service and food at this otherwise exceptional franchise were both abysmal. I want people, however, to remember that this could have been a fluke, and I have had nearly a decade of delicious food from dozens of Wahoo's locations. I will be returning to this location to try the food again, and this time I will make sure they get my order right.

The doors are covered in skater stickers--this is the hipster Chipotle. The steak tacos are great, and they serve beer and margaritas. The patio is great! Parking is a nightmare--you'll likely have to go next door.

Great California Mexican restaurant chain. My parents moved to the Pacific Northwest and still miss Wahoo's fish tacos. Being vegan, I wrote to the corporate headquarters to see what was vegan and was pleasantly surprised! Vegan options: All fresh raw ingredients (veggies, salsa, guac, etc.) Corn AND lard-free flour tortillas Brown rice (the white rice has butter but no chicken!) Black AND white beans (for once) chips & Salsa Guacamole Red enchilada sauce Teriyaki sauce Mr. Lee's hot sauce Banzai vegetables (on salad, burrito, bowl w/brown rice, or on the side) vegetarian enchilada (no cheese) Blackened mushrooms (in taco, burrito, bowl, or salad w/o cheese) vegetarian taco (with brown rice and without sour cream or cheese) French fries NOT VEGAN: white rice Roasted pepper sauce vinaigrette dressing While I'm not Gluten Free, I know that Vegan gets lumped with GF menu options, so I'll just provide those things that HAVE GLUTEN: flour tortillas sandwich bread onion rings cajun white beans may contain trace amounts brown rice contains trace amounts of gluten teriyaki sauce has trace amounts--(as an aside, Kikkoman soy sauce has less amount of gluten than that that can actually be measured, so if you know you are sensitive to soy sauce, be aware that some of the meat is marinated in soy sauce as per the menu description) All blackened items have trace amounts from the Cajun spice blend. My favorite is to get bonzai vegetables in a burrito with mixed black and white beans and brown rice. The margaritas really kick ass and they are on happy hour all day Sunday. Good chips and salsa, too!

Wahoo's, hmmmmmm...the fish tacos are really quite tasty. I'm also a fan of the Banzai Burrito (gotta get it 'wet', with green sauce on top) and 1 or 2 of their bowls as well. Service here is generally friendly. They also listen; if you say you want light rice and don't want to carbo up, they'll make it that way for you, and that is a good trait to have in an eatery; I can't count the times in Chipotle or Qdoba when I've asked for light rice and they dump on a full ladle full. I like that they have black beans here, but that seems to be a staple now that it's caught restauranteur chain's eye that people like that better than "bean glop". They make decent guac here (I can't speak for every outlet, but I have seen them *make* the guac here, at least once when I was looking), you can have beer or wine with your meal, and the Banzai Veggies mix makes a great filler in any meal. They also have a small patio that faces east, good for those lunchtime diners (not so much dinner). Again, getting things 'wet' here with with either salsa or green chile sauce makes things tastier. It's pretty good. 3 1/2 stars, but bumping up to 4 because I can't think of anything they do *badly* at this place, foodwise or servicewise.

When I was in culinary school, I clearly remember some of my classmates going out for lunch and bringing back a bag of McDonald's with fries and who knows what else. To this day I don't know what they were thinking, but I can only imagine how much they must love junk food. I, myself, could indulge in greasy street food once in awhile just like any other person, and when I do, Wahoo's is the official place of choice. Wahoo's is a breath of fresh air among Mexican Grill franchises (by the way, it is indeed a franchise for those who don't seem to know). Having been emotionally scared by the likes of QDoba and Chipotle, I almost forgot what better Mexican food tasted like. Don't get me wrong... Wahoo's is still 100% gringo, but at least it is better than most. Their portions are great and I always get everything with fish. The staff is hip and the ambiance is so chill. I recommend it if ur looking for a good alternative to Gringo Mexican food.

I am on a quest to find the best fish tacos in Denver so I thought Wahoo's should be one of the first places I tried. Well, I could have gone without. I tried the blackened fish tacos and they were SO dry! Good thing I had a (too strong) marg to wash it down. The shrimp was ok, but again, nothing to write home about. It would have been a lot better with some sauce of pico on top. So now I continue on my quest.....

Went here with a co-worker and decided to try something new and step outside of my Illegal Petes/Chipotle Box. I was quite let down by the chicken burrito I had. I was charged for every little extra right down to the salsa! The rice was disgusting and had no flavor. Since I don't eat fish, I tried the blackened chicken. The chicken seemed hard and overcooked. Just thinking about the meal I had is making me sick to my stomach. If I'm in the mood for burritos or tacos again I surely won't be back here.

I love Wahoos and this location is no different. I do not know of too many places better at customer service and cleanliness that this chain. I am never ever disappointed when I walk in to this location. The best part about today's visit was the blackened salmon (cooked fresh) option for my burrito and the brown rice that I was skeptical about but both were fabulous on my burrito! Fresh iced tea to top it off! And off I was all in about 10 minutes or so! One cool perk is if you get a large fountain drink and save your cup... the next refill for your next visit is only 50 shinny pennies! ALSO check out those food specials for 5 bucks and under. Beware... the parking lot is full!!! There are some side street spots and if all else fails... park at yucky McDonalds and walk over!

I had never heard of a fish taco before moving to Colorado and hearing about Wahoo's (maybe because I'm from the Midwest?). So I tried them, both blackened and regular, and they are good! Served with cabbage, who knew? But my favorite dish--and now really the only thing I ever order when I go here about once a month--is the Wahoo's Salad with Carnitas. That green cilantro sauce!! and the guacamole, and the tasty pork, on the crispy mixed greens, topped with fresh salsa, it just gets me every time. Add some Tapatio hot sauce for the perfect bite. I find myself craving it, and that's how I know that it's time to go get my monthly fix!

BBBbbllleeekkkkk!!!! What were they thinking? The food is overpriced, incredibly bland, and a complete let down. The service is fine, but that's no consolation.

I used to live within walking distance of this establishment. I miss it. I ate here regularly from summer 2005 until recently when I moved away to Aurora. It was always consistent, always delicious and always a good idea. I usually switched between 3 dishes. The fish sandwich, the blackened fish tacos & the blackened fish enchiladas. ALL of them are fabulous! I would usually get one of these dishes with a giant Sierra Mist to go. The thing to do is squeeze several lime wedges (and then dump them in the cup) on top of the ice and then fill it with Sierra Mist. It tastes like a carbonated limeade and is the BOMB! The staff here is also wonderful. Service was always great! Whether we dined in or took it home. I miss my Wahoo's! (The questions below is asking me if this place serves beer or wine, full bar or none... the answer is beer & margaritas. There isn't a full bar, just tequila and the margaritas are pretty good!)

I used to eat at the original in Orange County, CA when I was in college. Although this place lacks that Newport Beach surfer atmosphere, the food was just as good as I remembered. I love the buttery rice here!

While I'll admit I have not been a big fan of the fish taco craze, perhaps it's because I am half Asian, or because I was raised on TexMex take your pick. I finally had Wahoo's Fish Taco to see what everyone was raving about. Honestly, they have excellent onion rings. Crispy outside, hot and tender inside. I loved the onion rings. The fish taco itself was a huge let down. The corn tortillas were soggy, nearly falling apart, and the talapia used was only so so. Overall even after trying 2 different locations I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Not the worst Wahoo's I've ever been to... Living in SoCal, I have been going to Wahoo's for years. The one in Costa Mesa, is my favorite of them all. Sure the lines are always out the door at that place, but it just feels right going there. Maybe because it's the original and I just love the look of the place, not sure. There are a few, like the one in Long Beach (2nd and PCH) and the one in La Jolla, just feel like they belong there. While other's, like one of the Irvine locations. It just feels too fake, it really doesn't fit. Yesterday we were craving Wahoo's which we haven't had since moving here. We've seen this location numerous times and so it was the one we decided to go to. I find it kind of funny as mentioned before, that it has a Starbucks attached to it. I'm not sure why, but I don't care really. I personally like Starbucks, I suppose it's because I don't go out for coffee enough to try all the local coffeehouses. I found it really odd that the place wasn't packed. There were two tables outside that were occupied and three inside (ourselves included). Such a foreign sight. I don't know. Perhaps people in Denver don't like Wahoo's, I mean there is a McGodAwful Burger across the street and we know how much people love their fries (I am not one of them). Or simply we visited at an off time or people prefer a different location. Anyway... the food itself tastes just as it did at the others, nothing new I can say there. I love my Wahoo Blackened Chicken Bowl and I'll probably order the same thing for the next who knows how many times I go there.

Good food - amazing for a chain, with margaritas and beer - I'll always love those things. The Banzai bowl is absolutely delicious, healthy, and well-priced. Fish tacos are tasty, and the enchiladas are better than most Tex-Mex places. You can sit outside or inside, they bring your food to the table, and always will enjoy a great meal, quickly, and leave satisfied. Now if we had these back home in Chicago, I'd be a very happy camper, probably with less change in my wallet too!

Wahoo's is a great place for a healthy meal as long as you order reasonably. My favorite is the Wahoo's salad with blackened fish for $7.29. They serve a large portion of fish over lettuce with guac and pico de gallo. You can definitely max out your order and get a smothered burrito with rice and beans on the side if you're feeling like living it up. Order at the counter and and find a seat - they'll bring your food and silverware to your table. The customer service is excellent at the Colorado Blvd location. Throw 'em a buck or two tip and they'll bend over backwards to make it a good experience. Pick up an Onion or Westword at the door to read as you wait for your food.

Wahoo, it's hit or miss. Sometimes I think yea this place is OK, then I'll try something new and ick. The flavors are very different. Some might even say weird. My guy likes it and it's close to home so we go there often. They do well with substitutions, oh, I almost forgot to tell you the best part...They have a Starbucks connected! Yea!! The staff is made up of mostly Bohemian dudes, whose parents must say, "GET A HAIR CUT!" every time they come home. The TV's are always playing some cool surfer moves or awesome skateboard bro's. They have a fun patio and you'll always find a young hip crowd. The atmosphere is one of the best features. You'll have to be open minded and experimental with the menu.

I've been to a few Wahoo's before, but this place gives me a bang for my buck. My weakness: shrimp tacos. So many tasty morsels are placed within their corn tortilla beds that I have a hard time holding the thing together as they meet their destiny; my mouth. The Banzai bowl is good and the pepper sauce/dressing is very flavorful with a good kick. Burritos are .. we'll I can't finish one and the better half needs a full 5 hours before the next meal. These are available wet or dry with your choice of bathing juice. The salsa/pico/tomatoey treat is exactly that. Wahoo's use to have a special that was the grab bag. 5 tacos with chips and salsa. We'd always always order extra pico. Add a squeeze of the lime that you get with each taco (even when you order to go). Mmmm. Kudos to being attached to a Starbucks. A tall Americano make severything sit right. Minus a star cuz parking majorly womps.... I park at taco bell and waltz over for better "mexican"

Okay, it's a chain. Ignore that for a minute, because the food is great. Well, actually, the fish tacos are great... I've been to Wahoo 8 or 10 times and I've never had anything else there. I am a fish taco nut, and while there are better fish tacos available in southern California, these are hard to beat. If you are lucky enough to have a wahoo close to you and you live in say... Colorado? You're not going to find better fish tacos within an 8 hour drive. Go. Now. -you can thank me later.

It's been awhile since I've darkened the doorstep of a local Wahoos. And after consuming my old usual - the Banzai bowl with blackened chicken and black beans - I'm baffled as to why I ever let my regular status lapse. This meal is delicious, fairly nutritious, great tasting and good for you! Lots of veggies, the perfect amount of spiciness and carbophobes can order is sans-rice. And it goes well with root beer! For everyone who found Wahoos meat to be bland or dry - the cilantro-lime sauce provided with the Banzai bowl may help that situation. I urge you to give it a whirl.

Consistently friendly and quick service! Love the blackened fish burrito! Also like the fact that they don't add beans and rice into their burritos (they comes as sides in a combo meal)...

I love the shrimp burritos & tacos! Staff could be friendlier.

Wahoo's is awesome. Never a bad meal here. I'm not much of a fish eater personally, but that doesn't keep me away from here. I love their Bonzai chicken bowl. Really tasty! I sometimes mix it up with some pork carnitas tacos with beans and rice. I'm relatively snobby on my carnitas, but they have a decent one. My (far) better half swears by the fish tacos, so they must be good. They've got pretty good salsas too. I'm usually only here for lunch, but I can attest to the drunken deliciousness of their margs as well. I wouldn't quite categorize this as Mexican food, so if that's what you're truly craving, go elsewhere. Unless I get hit by a beer truck in the near future, I'll be going back to Wahoo's.

Well mom, dad how do I say this? This may come as a surprise to you both, but your little boy is not a virgin anymore......of Wahoos Fish Taco!!! OK I admit the first time was a bit awkward, I had no idea of what I was doing, and I wasnt sure of how long it would even last. I didnt like the idea of paying for it, but everyone else does, so I guess it's ok. I went into this with no protection, no confidence, and no reassurance of how great my first time would be. And finally when she came.....(the waitress, to bring my food that is) The result was as if I had gone to heaven. No one ever told me it would be this great! That what I waited so long for, was going to leave me wanting more! And that she wanted me to come again, wasnt enough of a good sign, she even thanked me as I walked out the door adjusting the belt on my pants. If the next time is like the first time, I think this could turn out to be a really good relationship.

Can't believe I haven't written a review about one of my faves! The boyfriend and I visit this location at least once a week. The food is awesome. I have tried most of the food items but the Blackened Salmon bowl is my absolute favorite thing to get here. We usually come here on the nicer days because they have an awesome patio. We usually grab a carafe of margs(strong btw) and sit in the sun. The only bothersome thing is the parking can be difficult around lunch time as it is on Colorado Blvd.

Okay..Im still a huge fan of Baja Fresh, HOWEVER, everything here was fresh and tasty. Spicy is all relative. So when they say spicy I expect spicy, I expect my nose to run, this was not the case here. I enjoy a little more flavor than what was provided so I added their green sauce to my tacos and we have a winner! LOVE that green sauce! One thing I was surprised about though is that usually the beans are band but they werent! The beans were spicier than the taco? All in all a good experience and I will return.. as long as you dont run out of green sauce.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
