Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

Village Inn's regional manager is awesome. Originally had a bad experience. I had posted a bad review. Immediately Village Inn contacted me: first by email and then by telephone. I am not that stubborn or hard to work with, so all I wanted was an apology. They gave me several apologies. I greatly appreciate the desire to have great customer service. How many times does a business contact you for a bad review? Hardly ever but this company did. Not only did they contact me, they wanted to make it right. WOW. I would recommend eating at Village Inn even if it was just for the desire for superior customer service. But the food is good. I think for customer service they deserve a 5 star rating.

After months of passing by several locations in the area, I finally got a chance to check out the Village Inn this evening - yet another franchise that I hadn't yet tried, as we don't have any back east. This particular location is in the parking lot at the La Quinta and is a bit hidden under the interstate overpass. I arrived at about 10:45pm after starvingly hunting around for something that was open late, and I happened to notice that the hours at this location are currently 8:30am - 1:30am. I believe some other locations in the area might be open 24/7, so just a quick heads up that this one's not. No crowds or wait time. Free wifi is always a big plus. I went with the French Dip and fries. Everything was great. There appeared to be a massive selection of pies available whole or by the slice, which I'll be sure to check out next visit.

It's Village Inn... Nothing special. Nothing over the top, Not the best food in the world, but not terrible either. I get food to go from here pretty often, and it's always cooked properly, and is delicious.

I recently worked at this shit hole for about 2 weeks as a cook. I quit as soon as possible. These people could give 2 shits less about their employees. I worked at the shit hole on 120th and I-25. First off, the manager, Jeff, is a micromanaging asshole with zero personality at all. This guy has no clue how to talk to grown adults. He's sloppy, gross and looks like a big ball of gross grease with clothes on. He smells like a chicken coop and his teeth are absolutely disgusting! I'm a great cook, I've trained with chefs, and I busted my ass while I was there. If Village Inn gave a shit about their employees as much as they care about their customers, they'd probably have more customers. I absolutely HATED cooking their gross, truck stop food. Yuck! I actually saw a box of bacon fall once, on the floor, and Jeff picked it up and just put it back on the counter! It was literally on the floor! I honestly don't know how this guy is the manager. He has no people skills, treats his employees horrible, and, he's gross to even look at. I have no clue how Village Inn even continues to exist when there's a Cracker Barrell and a Perkins right across the street. I've never seen a place in life that doesn't think about or care about their employees. This store has so many turnovers that when I started people were asking me if I "could handle working with Jeff." That's pitiful considering the place is a heart attack waiting to happen. My point? Respect your employees too. Don't be such dicks especially when your food isn't good at all.

Not sure if they even deserve 1 star. I will say yes because the manager attempted to correct the issue. My wife, 4 kids, and myself came in for brunch. Kids eat free Monday. My wife ordered a tuna melt, I ordered a tuna sandwich. When served, both were plain tuna sandwiches. I asked the waitress about it and she told us they were both the same sandwich with different names. Not. Why the price difference? Then when my wife couldn't eat hers because it tasted bad, the manager offered to take hers off of the bill. Cool, but then they charged us for all for kids meals. Whatever! By now I'm ready to just leave and never come back, whatever the price. It seems like the employees have no idea what's going on, but thanks anyhow mr manager. You can't hold their hands all of the time.

Village Inn is just what it says it is: an inexpensive coffee shop. Food is mediocre, service likewise. Prices are reasonable.

This place is ok. I remember coming to this location as a kid, and it still brings back some nostalgia. It's always been decent. It has decent food, decent prices. It however does not come close to other Village Inns. One particular visit, My husband and I had to be in the area and decided to go there. It was the worst experience we had at a Village Inn. The service was horrible, and the food was just ok. When we first walked in, the manager said it would be a 15 minute wait, not bad. After the 15 minutes, more parties of 2-5 people started coming in. They had seated 6 parties who had gotten there after us. Finally, we went up and asked. They had crossed our name off the list, as if we weren't there. That wasn't a big issue until we started having problems with our server. The waitress kept talking to us with an annoyed tone, sometimes rolling her eyes. We both ordered the VIB breakfast. For one part of the order, I got the chicken fried steak with country gravy. I asked if the gravy had pork because I can't digest it ans it makes me vomit. They said no. The gravy tasted like the chicken fried steak but I got really sick, turns out, it did. At one point, we had three different people asked if we needed anything. I asked for a refill (my soda was completely enoty). Finally we asked our waitress, who acted like it was an inconvenience for her. The whole experience made us feel unwelcome. We probably won't be coming back to that location. I did feel bad for not tipping, as that is jow servers make their money, but we decided if she wanted to act like she didn't want our business, she didn't want our money. I would recommend going to the one on 84th Ave and I-25. The food is better, and it has always been enjoyable.

Completely unimpressed with this particular Village Inn. We went and joined friends but nobody actually sat us anywhere we just waited like 10 minutes with nobody even acknowledging when we were there. So then we sit down. The waiter had screwed up our friends order really really bad. And he took forever with our order. He also took forever to bring everyone's free pie. Yes indeed we got free pie so well I guess well done. Oh well. We'll be picking other places to go.

After many disappointing meals at "family owned" restaurants, my husband and I decided to eat here. We of course have eaten here many times in the last decade, but never really considered it a Go To place. That being said, we just had a fantastic lunch. We went for breakfast but decided to have lunch instead. MY husband ordered the Rueben and he said it was just as good as the one he gets at a restaurant downtown. He loved it. I ordered the Pretzel Roll Cheeseburger and it was also delicious. Both came with yummy French Fries. The food was hot, fresh, prepared perfectly and the server was great. The manager is friendly and seems to really care about his restaurant. it was so enjoyable that we are now going to go there anytime we want an honest meal. No pretension and that was nice. We were pleasantly surprised and I had to share.

Definitely not up and coming. More old style food that caters to the 50-year-old and up category. It tries to put a new twist on an outdated menu, yet fails for the most part. Decent atmosphere. Average waiters. They have their regulars, but beware of becoming one!

We were tired of the mediocre breakfasts at Cracker Barrel and Perkins nearby. This Village Inn is a breath of fresh coffee....it was clean, the decorations were warm and bright, and the server was cheerful and took very good care of us ! The food was perfect. I am coming back here for sure ! Never underestimate a place...I think we found a gem tucked away by I-25 !
