You, Tavern Wash Park, are a tease. Went here for happy hour last Friday. They have 2 for 1 domestic drafts... just kidding! Did you believe me? Well, I'm just teaching you a little lesson I learned at Tavern Wash Park. Even though a beer is on draft and domestic that does not mean it automatically qualifies for the 2 for 1 domestic draft happy hour deal. I must have missed the asterisk and fine print on the happy hour menu. Oops. An additional slap in the face for this naive happy hour-enthusiast... 10 minutes after leaving I drove down Colorado Blvd. where a lovely billboard informed me that Shock Top is in fact brewed in Colorado. You don't say!? Like I said, a tease. Venting aside, Tavern Wash Park gets 3 stars because the patio was pleasant and the Poblano Queso Dip was bangin'.

I really like this place. Its within walking distance and it has a nice patio and its great if you want to watch a game. I have been here twice and have had the Tequila chicken salad and the Chipotle Chicken Pasta and both were very tasty. The decor is nice and the service is friendly.

Went for happy hour excited for a two for one deal. I should have known that their selection of beer would consist of coors and pbr, much better prices exist for these at fun dive bars. Not to mention the older men like to prey on the younger ladies here... Well this happens everywhere but a lot here.

Let's get something straight. I have a lot of "like's" in my life. I like skinny vanilla latte's. I like my new zumba class. I even like asparagus. But I don't just throw the word "love" around very much. I save those feelings for only the best. Pink Cupcakes. Room Service. And BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS! I have been to Tavern both Sundays that I have lived in Denver. Last week, I went with two girlfriends that participated willingly and giddily in the bottomless portion of our Sunday brunch. Today, I was the only one participating (and therefore, only had 2). The highlights: They aren't kidding around when they say bottomless. Someone comes around pretty consistently to make sure you are topped off. They have egg whites. And there is no up charge. That's a big deal for me. They have the football games on but you can still carry on a conversation and choose to watch. Or not. (I was there both times for only the early games, so it may get more gung-ho for the later games). There is no wait. Again, I went both times around 11am, and was seated immediately in a cozy booth. The faster you get that first mimosa to me, the better. And from walking in to raising a glass was about 4 minutes. Flat. The Bumps: I think the reason they keep those mimosas flowing so freely is because they are mostly just giving away orange juice. They aren't strong. But you can have as many as you want. The food is okay. Not great. Nothing I would write home about. The first time I had an egg white omelet. Everything comes with a mound of potatoes. They seem sort of like frozen grocery store potatoes. But they're ok. Today I had the Mediterranean skillet. I won't order this again. It was greasy and tasteless. And really, that's it. I like this place. It's not pretentious. There's not a long wait. The portions are pretty huge and the service is pretty good. This certainly won't be a favorite. But at least I know where to get a mimosa. Stat.

Brunch buffet fully stocked and omelettes cooked to order from the kitchen. I haven't been here in a few years but It's definitely a great brunch! ** oops I'm such a dork, I just realized this was actually Wash Park Grill. I musta had too many mimosas. But I still also like the Wash Park Tavern too!!!

Yep, defiantly won't be coming back here. I frequented uptown, downtown and wash park tavern in my heydays, but my recent visit to this location has made me not want to visit anymore. Came with my friend on a Monday night right before happy hour ended, around 645PM. We both ordered happy hour wine and dinner. The dinner was ok, I think the food overall has gone down hill in the past years, quality and portions. Fast forward to the bill, we asked for it at 730PM, thinking we would get our other glass of wine, which was not served, so then we thought she split the glasses between us which was not the case. I asked our server why we didn't receive another glass and she told me, "We can only serve happy hour glasses during the happy hour time, I can give you a token to use the next time you're here during happy hour and you can use it." Hmmmm...... Yes, let me keep that token with me and when I'm back here next time, hopefully during happy hour I'll remember to bring that with me. I would have been ok with her explaining that when we ordered this was how the happy hour worked, years ago servers would either serve 2 drinks at a time or tell you the policy but I guess she assumed we knew it. Ummmm....No. I thankful declined and told myself never to go back to any Tavern again.

I love the Tavern. I would say this is the bar in my 'hood I frequent the most often due to the proximity to my work/home. I came here a couple times the past two weeks to catch some March Madness games and was reminded of how much I love The Tavern. I enjoy The Tavern because it is always the perfect level of busyness. I have never been here when it is jammed. Tables are typically always full except for one or two. There is always a buzz around the bar. It is just what I look for in a bar. Not too busy, not empty, good beer selection, solid happy hour deals, great appetizers. For March Madness, they were having some great happy hour deals on Colorado beers, as well as food. Speaking of food, I love the food I have had from The Tavern. Let's talk about the queso in particular. If you know me at all, you know queso is my favorite food. The Tavern makes my queso loving heart melt. They have some pretty solid queso... Think queso fundido not cheese dip though. We actually ordered two last week when I was here because one just wasn't enough. They also have amazing nachos. These aren't your typical nachos. There are like 6 chips and each chip is individually topped with the perfect amount of nacho toppings. So, each chip is your quintessential nacho. Unfortunately, I really can only vouche for the nachos and queso here. My eyes (and belly) don't see past those two things on the appetizer menu. Overall, 4 stars based on food, beer, and atmosphere.

The food here is amazing. Their fish and chips have been poking my cravings portion of my brain for days now. The place is clean, all of our food was great, and the location was easy to walk too. The service was meh, but i think it was a singular incident. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to this restaurant.

This is a more local version of The Tavern than I am used too, but this area was in dire need of another bar that is open til 2 AM! It's very laid back, and has a very small town feel to it. There are lots of TVs, and I usually go here because they have subscriptions to all the sports networks (including NHL :D) Their burgers are delicious. Giant thumbs up to that! And last time I was here we also got the spicy calamari appetizer... OMG it was to die for. They also have a full bar, with quite a few taps! If you can't get a hold of me on Friday or Saturday night it's probably because I'm at The Tavern Wash Park screaming my head off cheering on the AVS!

Casual atmosphere, good sandwiches, great specialty cocktails. Date of Visit: 4/26/14 Our group's order consisted of the Croissant Club, Buffalo Burger, and Chicken Enchiladas. All were above-average quality, and good portions for the price. The outdoor seating was is perfect for people watching, as the area is quite lively and a nice place to spend some time. The specialty cocktails are also very good; we tried the Black & Blue Mule and Ruby Mules, and were happy to have done so.

I liked this establishment a lot. It is in a great location in Wash Park on a street with lots of neat boutiques and eateries. We were there on a Sunday, and they had a bloody mary bar, they had TVs tagged with which NFL games would be down on a given TV so you knew where to sit, but it wasn't a sport bar - more of a neighborhood pub. The service was great, we sat outside and had a lot of fun chatting up the other tables, everyone here was super friendly and the service was great. The patio is really nice and a great place to hang out. I want to give these guys a shout out - I had left my Rock and Roll Marathon bag on the back of my chair (had so much fun I got careless) and I called and they found it and held it for me. They genuinely cared that I get it back...and I appreciate them for it!!!

The Tavern Wash Park is a part of "The Tavern" chain in Denver. I believe there are 8 of them. They have a fun atmosphere and a good menu. For me the best way to describe the chain is that it is a step up from Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday's etc...but does quite hit the level of Houston's or J Alexander. Probably more in line with Wynkoop. Good food...but not great. Fun atmosphere and a good place to go with a group.

Can someone please explain to me why this place has gone downhill within the last 6 months?! I gave this place a solid great review on 6/12/2013 but a lot has apparently happened there to drag this place into the 3rd level of hellacious customer service. Over 6 months ago, they had several female servers who were absolutely the kindest, most responsive servers ever. They literally shined with customer service skills and I tipped them well over 20% on multiple occasions because they were great. For some reason, none of them are working there anymore. I recall a time about 3 months ago when the regular bussers were having to fill in as servers. The food was cold, beverages were late, refills hardly happened and those guys were working their butts off. It was clear they needed help so I tipped them well above 20% because they were working so hard. However, I visited on Nov. 9th for lunch. I sat on the patio and I have to tell you, the server was absolutely awful. Somehow it took us a solid hour to get our order which was basically an egg and ham croissant. Not to mention, the tables around us ordered about 15 minutes after my table did and were also served way before us. I watched the server refill and refill and refill the beverages of other tables for about 20 minutes before she even glanced in the direction of my table to take our order to begin with. Ok, so we were not drinking alcohol. Great customer service ought to be rendered to ALL patrons and not just to those drinking alcohol. Here's the deal... if there's an issue with the kitchen being backed up, ok.... just TELL YOUR PATRONS so you can at least stay in communication with them. If you're short handed, if you're a new server, if your cat just died.... just say something and I'll understand. However, if you ignore us, we get pissed and will leave you a very small tip. Pretty simple. I do not come to the Wash Park Tavern (where I've been many, many, many times) to be ignored and charged for it. Needless to say, I was late to my next engagement which was down in the Springs. I gave myself more than enough time to dine and drive to the Springs. Now, if the server thought, I would not tip well because I was not drinking alcohol, then she got what she expected..... very little tip. However, please do not judge that I will not tip you above 20% when I'm not drinking alcohol. Poor customer service earns you a poor tip. Period. This treatment of patrons is inexcusable. Is it a management issue? I have no idea. Is it a training issue? I have no idea. Wash Park Tavern, clean up your act guys. Seriously. You're lack of customer service is taking my business elsewhere.

I LOVE this place! They have an awesome happy hour, super service, and a wonderful patio that is wolf-friendly! I came here with some of my friends - I ordered a Manhattan (have never had one before, and did not like it - wasn't anything they did wrong, it was just very strong). Had a moscow mule instead - and it was so good! We had a great server - Red was his name I think - he was very friendly and told us about all the specials the Tavern has (Ladies night on Thursday!). It was a really great experience and I WILL be back!

I like this place. It has a cozy neighborhood feeling and the bartenders are friendly and nice to have a chat with. Food is pretty decent for comfort/pub style fare. We just had a real nice waiter tonight on the (heated!) patio. Just be warned: do not order the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. They need to go back to the drawing board! It was completely rock solid and we couldn't even saw through it with a steak knife. Not a pleasant culinary experience! The fish tacos are a great pick tho :)

Great location on Gaylord Street in Wash Park... and an excellent place to catch a game or meet up with friends. It's very similar to the other Tavern locations throughout Denver (same food, drinks, and overall vibe), but I think this one is my favorite due to the location and the patio.

Had pretty good service even though it was busy. I really like the patios. Happy hour 2 for 1 and very very yummy cornbread. It's nice that it's so close to my house, I will definitely be biking there this summer. Ordered a burger medium and was cooked exactly medium. It does seem to be a slightly yuppy crowd but that's fine if you come with friends!

I love this vibe of this Tavern! I've been to a couple others and I have no complaints. However this location is the best! It has more laid back vibe and they have a really stunning horseshoe bar. Also the TV screens in the mirrors in the bathroom are super cool! I feel futuristic when I use the bathroom :) I have always received great service and food here. Austin, one of the servers, is a really friendly and awesome server. All of the other servers and bartenders are really great too! Food is really good, and they have nice specials too. Half off appetizers after 10pm on weeknights!

The Tavern is what it is. I like to call it Applebees lite. I love the people who work there especially the few that have been there for awhile. Now for the bad review. The DJ is terrible. I stopped doing on the weekends because of the rude, unprofessional, and untalented DJ. Now he is there on Sunday during football. I don't get it. I will be finding a new bar for Sunday's as well now. Sucks because I live within biking distance.

Good food esp for a bar (tavern burger, clam chowder, chicken wraps...), good atmosphere. LOUSY SERVICE (on a not-very-busy Sunday afternoon) destroyed the vibe.

after leaving the Tavern, i immediately murdered a box full of puppies. my experience was so abruptly terrible, that my heart had exploded. i guess i should not be surprised, because the so called beef they brought me almost certainly spawned the Alien that burst out of Kane's chest. in other news, the service was absent. i had two drinks, paid my tab and left . frankly i was wasting my time. i could have distilled a bottle of whiskey before a third drink came.

Tons of TVs, bloody mary bar, spiked coffee bar and bottom less mimosas make this place a Sunday staple

I've been here a couple of times and I have to say it has a great vibe. The Old South Gaylord Street area has many dining options and this one certainly holds its own. On par with the other Tavern locations (and WAAAY better than a few of them - ahem, Downtown) this one is a solid. My first visit was on my birthday - a Tuesday night. We packed about 20 people into the little bar area but no one panicked and the service was attentive. I think there is also trivia night so that's worth checking out. Most recently I visited the front patio and had an awesome breakfast about about 12:30 pm. They serve it until 1pm! Our server Eric was nice and he took great care of our needs. There are even water misters on the patio for those hot summer months. Gotta love that! Parking is not the easiest so I would recommend finding a spot in the surrounding neighborhood and walking to the restaurant. At least you'll get some cardio! I would call this a "go to" place if you are in the hood and don't know where else to go. If you're in the mood for a leisurely (bar) meal then for sure stop in and hang out here.

For what ever reason, this brand of bars has a serious following. I've visited all of the locations (I think-) though there are so many it is hard to keep track. Here's why it works: 1) Lots of patio space 2) Happy Hour until 7:00 3) Lots of attractive people Are their specials that great? No. Any particular liquor, beer, or wine that is worth your time to seek? No. Amazing food? No. Decent bar food and drinks that will keep you going? Yes. So it's not my first choice but it gets the job done.
(3)
Brick H.
So much yes. The food is fantastic (try the tavern ultimate mac & cheese - it's hard to save any to take home!), they have great happy hour specials and ladies drink free on Thursday night! Free WiFi, friendly staff, and luckily for me it's right around the corner from work! They have a nice patio that is great in warm weather & i've never had to wait to be seated. I've been to a couple other Tavern locations, and this is by far my favourite. Check it out!

I read the reviews here and really wanted to not believe what people were saying but unfortunately my experience pretty well mirrored what a lot of other people are saying. It wasn't terribly crowded, maybe 3/4 full -- which one would expect for New Years Day. My friend and I sat on the back patio, and there were a couple of larger parties, but there were also several open tables out there. I was seated for close to 10 minutes before I was asked if I wanted a drink. The server didn't come back and ask us if we were ready to order for another 15 minutes after I got the diet coke (of the water & diet coke) I ordered. Then after we ordered we had to flag her down again for drink refills. It then took 40 minutes for our food to come out -- which is just as easily the kitchen's fault, but the cumulative is impossible to ignore. 40 minutes for biscuits and gravy and a chorizo skillet? I feel like those are two of the quickest items there could be. When all was said and done, the food was fine but a little too salty. We noticed a lot of other people around us leaving their food half-eaten, and there were some problems with orders at other tables so that may have helped color my perception, but I ate most of my biscuits and gravy without hesitation. I was happy to see that when Tavern Wash Park advertises "home fries" they actually make home fries, and not some half-cooked potato mess. So that was a big plus. Really though, I was disappointed. If the server is slow, there's a good chance it's because management isn't staffing enough people (they only had one person on the patio, which seemed pretty stupid.) and if the food takes a while, it's possible the kitchen was just having a bad day. But given the volume of people who seem to have had similar experiences, I'm guessing that it's the norm here unfortunately. I wouldn't rule out a stop back sometime for beer and football or something like that, but it's not going to be high on my list of places to hit up again soon.

I like Tavern's food and ambiance. I usually don't like their wait staff as most are stuck up cheerleaders who never made it into college. But here my server seemed like your average run of the mill down to earth guy. One of the best servers I have ever had at a Tavern. Which get this tavern a few more stars, however it was taken down a few stars due to parking issues. PARKING is horrible. SO I parked about 2 blocks down and walked. No big deal. But then I was the only car to initial park where I did and when I returned 2 cars had parked in front and in back of me TOTALLY blocking me in. If you have never been in this situation it SUCKS!!! Also another reason the stars were down was because I was there with a large group organizing an event so they put us in the back with another larger drinking group and we could hardly even hear each other much less plan an even. But they may be our fault for choosing this type of venue for our meeting place.

I love the food, the staff and even the music. I like that my husband can watch any game he likes and I can chat with the bartenders, surf on my iPad, or listen to the tunes. The patio has misters for hot days!!! Staff is amazing and friendly!! Good wine selection and a FULL bar for cocktails.

Went here for brunch on a Sunday. Our service was friendly, but slow. The food was really good though. Loved the home fries. Sweet chili wings were good as well. Tons of TVs, including one embedded in the bathroom mirror. Very cool. Good spot to hang out on a football Sunday.

Really disappointed with my decision to dine at the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice but other than that, I couldn't say anything positive about the experience. Although our waitress was nice, she rarely made it to our table and we were having to wait extended amounts of time for our food or basic requests, such a refills. We waited for more than an hour for our food, while watching tables who had arrived after us receive their food before us. Three of us ordered the same entree and each one was cold, barely had any meat, and the bread was burnt and stale. We voiced our concerns and were told that the general manager would come and speak with us. We waited thirty minutes and the gm never came and were told that we would get a round of drinks comped but we believed that to be insufficient for such a poor experience. All in all, a very poor experience, bad food, and handled by management in a very unprofessional way. A big thumbs down!

Food is pricey for the small portions they serve especially the appetizers. Drinks are overpriced. There is one waiter/bartender with blond hair and a long ponytail is incredibly rude. We try to avoid him every time we go there but keep getting stuck with him :(

We have often visited the Tavern's around Denver. We have had really good service and really bad service. We have always had OK food at a slightly high prices. We visited the Tavern at Wash Park today for Happy Hour after the National Western Stock Show. Dan, the bartender served us and was close to perfect. Then, he got off shift and said that Deanna would be right over and take care of us. She walked by us many times without even acknowledging us. I had to go to the bar to order another cocktail. Deanna dropped them on the table without a word. I went to the bar to pay our bill and the bartender said our waitress had the bill. I did not know Deanna was our waitress until he told me as I was leaving. I told the bartender I was not happy about the waitress ignoring us. The general manager Kevin came over and really tried to correct the poor service by Deanna. The moral to the story: Ask the hostess to be in anyone's section but Deanna's. Kevin and Dan were super, ask for them!

This is one of the weirdest places that I have ever been to because it looks all trendy but I have had the experiences here of a much seedier bar. The food is blah bar food and overpriced. The atmosphere is nice, except when too many drunk men fall off stools or pick a fight or drunkenly hit on you. The fact that I have to give my ID to the waitress to keep if I want a Moscow Mule because people steal the copper cups- seriously? Where else does this happen but a much seedier place? Oh, and sometimes, your waitress will forget she has you as a table. Even tho the place is small enough you can eye every table from the bar. If you are in the mood for somewhat trendy looking surroundings and weird vibe, go here.

The service was good, friendly, but not intrusive. The food, reasonable for a sports bar. Good size portions and a bit pricey. If you patronize a sports bar, in a made up chic neighborhood, you should not expect much more than that. Parking is horrible, I bet it is hell on game day.

Although I feel the prices are still high, I wanted to write an update to commend the recent service I had. I was there with a large group for a going-away party. I can understand that big groups can be a hassle for restaurant staff, but the team and manager at Tavern Wash Park never made it seem like we were any trouble. They were very attentive, and the manager (can't remember her name) checked in us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I don't live in the area, so I'm not sure how long she's been manager, but you can tell she takes pride in her job, and her restaurant -like it's her own.

My husband and I visited this location on Friday night. We sat at the bar for a couple of drinks and an appetizer before our dinner reservation down the street. The hostess and bar servers were all very nice and friendly. The skinny piña colada type martini was delicious! The things we weren't impressed with: fruit flies flying all over near the bar. Makes me wonder how many more there were that we couldn't see. We also had the Ahi tuna appetizer. The tuna was fresh, but the dish was flavorless. There was also a taste of something rancid. I'm not sure if it was the oil the accompanying chips were fried in or if it was the sesame oil used in the dish. Bottom line, drinks and happy hour prices are great. Friendly staff. Food and cleanliness an issue. Would probably not return. Wash Park Grille down the street has delicious apps.

After a day of festivities and relaxation in Wash Park, we stopped in for a drink and a quick bite. The drinks were mixed with perfection, and the happy hour apps hit the spot. We love the patio seating. The service was "ok" - nothing to complain about but nothing to rate highly either.

A very hot day. A little spin around Wash Park. Water misters on the patio. Televisions. Unlimited mimosas for $10 on Sunday. A good start to the day. Pizza had good flavor...jalapenos were fresh and HOT. But, pizza would probably go better with beer than a mimosa. I'll go back to try my theory.

I mean I highly doubt that you haven't heard about all of the Tavern's around town. However just in case they have a solid happy hour and the food is better than just normal bar food. I also like the atmoshpere of this specific Tavern as when it gets later in the night the atmosphere changes a bit and is just a fun place. Also if trivia is your game they have trivia one a week for bar credit. However there are some real good people (or people that google everything on their iphone :) needless to say I have never won but it is still fun.

The appetizers are really good. I especially like the buffalo wings. I went here again for the 3 or 4th time last week for happy hour with the girls. We pick a different place every week and I'm glad it was here. They have great drink specials throughout the night. Monday - Friday: 2pm - 7pm, 2-for-1 Well Drinks, House Wine and Domestic Draft Beer. Then they have specials later at night too. The outdoor seating area is really nice and comfy.

Cold ambiance and overpriced appetizers. 2 sodas, pretzels ( soft kind ), and chips and queso = $25.00. No thanks! Much better places on Gaylord St. to relax with a friend and enjoy good food!! Service was not great. We did not have napkins at our table, and asked twice! I eventually went and asked the bartender. Do not plan on returning.

Wash Park Tav is meh, probably my least favorite of all the ones I've visited in Denver. I agree with several reviewers that the food is OK, and a little overpriced. The $10 unlimited mimosas are still a good deal but somehow don't seem as strong or as tasty as the ones at their Uptown sister. I've been there on weekends a few times throughout the years and I think it's good to watch some games because it never seems to be crazily crowded and has several TVs, but there is always a bit of an old lady country club vibe here on weekends. Service is good but not outstanding...just meh.

There are people who will go to McDonald's, for instance, because it is familiar. Well, we went on an uninformed exploration of Wash Park and ended up in this area. I don't know if it was an off night, but the area was dead. We thought this being a part of the Tavern group would be a haven and have a crowd, but instead it was kind of benign and stale. The tavern service and menus was as it always is, but this location was just too unlively. .....it was a Saturday night! The potential is there, but where are the ppl? Dt

We wanted something quick and easy before we headed up to Red Rocks for a show. We were seated at a high top table and within seconds we turned to each other saying how warm it was in there and how unbearable it was. We walked around the restaurant trying to determine if it was just where we were seated or the whole restaurant. We decided a booth was a bit better. It was better, but definitely not cool considering it was almost 100 degrees outside. Our waitress was a bit all over the place considering we ordered very basic things. The spinach dip was yummy. It actually didn't look very good but tasted good. As our entrees came out, my friend asked for SOME chips because we still had dip and no more chips left. On the menu, the asian salad said "option of chicken" so when I ordered, I just asked for a simple "asian salad" but instead the waitress brought me a salmon asian salad. Not sure where the salmon came from. She placed a new order so it took a bit of time. Once my salad finally arrived it was actually really yummy. Again, considering this is a sports bar and the service is meh, the food was quite good. We were all finished with our salads, basically ready to hit the road, and realized that the waitress never brought out the chips. We saw another waiter or busboy bring a huge thing of chips and salsa to another table and then realized it was supposed to come to us. We asked for the bill and they had charged us $4 for the chips and salsa that we hadn't even gotten. I kindly asked the waitress to remove the chips and salsa from the bill because 1) we didn't order a full dish of that 2) it came as we were walking out the door. We wanted a few extra chips, not a full platter. It was just so odd. She had a bad attitude and it took forever for her to adjust the bill. No need to come back here, even though the salads were yummy.

Hi Gary, thank you for the lack luster apology. I did go to your location, would you like me to email you a copy of my receipt? Your genuine concern or more like lack of concern is exactly why I will NOT delete my post about your "restaurant". It did occur to me that the bartender lied about his name, why wouldn't he, he knew I was going to report him. So he charged my card under a server named Shawna on May 4th.

I would like to start by saying I live in the neighborhood, work in the neighborhood, and have been coming to the Tav WP for quite some time now, along with the other spots on Gaylord, and the Tav is one of my favorite places in the area! The bartenders (Dan, Lyndsay, & Hillary) are incredible and always show me a great time and they deserve a lot of credit. I love the new menu that they have created! So far I have tried the BBQ wrap with the chunks of cornbread (5/5) and the Pretzel burger (5/5) both with sides of Tots - huge fan of the new side option. I used to not come in a a lot with the old manager Mandy - she just seemed very hands off and lazy (on her phone a lot, always sitting at the bar, etc.) but they got a new GM Kevin who is honestly one of the nicest people I have ever met, and I look for him every time I come in!! Please do yourself a favor and ask to speak with him! such great stories and such a great attitude, and ALWAYS running around helping out his staff! So fun to watch him and he too deserves a lot of credit - it is incredibly obvious that he has made this place so much more fun! I have never written a review before - but its pretty cool and they deserve a good one! Thank you Tav WP for the amazing experiences I have every time I go in! P.S. - Best group of regulars a place can have;)

How many Taverns do there need to be? Apparently, regardless of where they decide to place one, it's going to suck either way. Maybe I had a preconception that the Tavern on Gaylord was going to be dismal based on previous experiences at both the Downtown and Uptown Taverns in the past, however, the Wash Park Tavern experience further heightened my distaste for this establishment chain. The deceptive mist blowing on the front porch lured my buddy in before I could veto this move. Interrupting the conversation at the hostess table, we requested a table on the patio where we anticipated a calming mist to cool us down from the heat. Unfortunately, the mist was positioned so it went directly on to the passer buyers in the street. Damn I wish I were a passer buyer in this occasion. Instead, I browsed the happy hour menu and to my disappointment, the only special on what they call "Saturday Sunday Funday" was $3 bud lights and $4 Three Olive Vodka drinks. Not a vodka drinker and not a sucker to think $3 for a bud light is any sort of deal, I resolved to order a draft beer for $5.50. Considering the price, I assumed the beer would either be a 20 oz draft or some selection that was rare to the Colorado bar scene. Not true in either case. Draft selections were minimal and what ended up in front of me was a non-chilled beer mug with lukewarm beer. Wishing to call for the check right after the first beverage in hopes to venture to Rievers, I unfortunately had to settle on another beverage to pass the time as my buddy finished his dinner. Figuring the next beverage was also going to be lukewarm, I ordered the $3 bud light and pouted until I got the opportunity to close out my $9 tab (excluding tip) for two beers with one being a damn bud light. Top that off with the horrific parking that comes with the South Gaylord block, I resolve to never be suckered into this place in the future. Two stars as opposed to one because our waitress at least didn't yell at me.

Service was terrible, food was terrible and over priced. We waited over an hour for a Philly cheesesteak and pork wrap, on a Monday afternoon, the place was not busy. Water was not refilled and there was paper bits in our side of sweet potato mash. Needless to say we will not be returning. If you are looking for slow service and food with no taste then Tavern Wash Park is the place for you. If I was you I would not waste your time like we did.

Allison was wonderful. I would definitely recommend her service - and the Tavern at Wash Park to everyone. We have been back several times and regardless of the server, we have always had a good experience.

Pros: lots of TVs, bottomless mimosa option (didn't try it, but how bad can bottomless mimosas be?), lots of seating options, upbeat atmosphere (I guess that could be a con, too, depending on your mood). Cons: Pitiful tap list...Only two microbrews, and I'm not sure Shock-Top counts, so maybe just one, plus Stella. The rest were various domestics. Wasn't sure what their bottle list is because it's not on the menu, and from what I could see at the bar it was again just domestic stuff. Menu didn't list drink prices which is sort of obnoxious. I guess I'd go back to specifically watch sports and eat wings, but I wouldn't randomly stop in for a pint (like I did today).

I had been to the Uptown and Downtown Taverns many times, but I recently made my first trip to the Wash Park location. It was much smaller than I expected, and the layout caught me by surprise. It feels a bit more cramped than it probably should, but having a large bar is nice. However, I have to say that I had an excellent experience here, and that this was one of the better bars I have been to in the Wash Park area. The place is well maintained, clean, and has a very positive atmosphere, but unlike some of the newer bars in the area it is not overly stuffy/pretentious. We had a very pleasant server, Mellisa, who was always laughing with us and made our experience that much better. I do not go to a tavern for the food, I go for the atmosphere, and having a pleasant, engaging server makes all the difference. Overall, I am glad I finally made it to this location, and although I think it is a bit pricey outside of Happy Hour, the clean decor, and delightful service set this apart from many of the bars in Wash Park.

Great place to watch sports. There are two patios at this location the one in the back I have seen several dogs which is pretty sweet. There is always good people watching here because the bar is square... you are guaranteed to witness several dusche bags trying to pick up chicks. haha The food is so so. The Happy hour specials are just alright... $4 wells and $3 buds doesn't sound like a steal to me. It is usually pretty busy as its in the center of South Gaylord Street

average overpriced food, mediocre service, and the worst ambience of any bar or restaurant in the area.

If you find yourself on Gaylord Street, overwhelmed by the places you can choose for happy hour, do not be tempted by the sun-soaked patio and choose this place. To choose Tavern Wash Park is to folly. Each time I have been here the tables have been covered in a sticky slime reminiscent of the substances to be found on my nephew's high chair. No attention to detail. Most recently, a server was nowhere to be found for five minutes despite the place being less than half full. The food is actually pretty decent, but the happy hour drinks are not a deal at all. 2 for 1 domestic drafts. If I want to guzzle Coors Light at 3PM I would go watch NASCAR or maybe even find a seedy bowling alley. Tavern Wash Park is a horrible place to go if you enjoy craft beer. I am really bummed the Tavern has bad service, poor cleanliness, and bad happy hour specials. The west-facing patio was enough for me to be tempted to return, but I will not let my friends convince me to try them out again. A few of my former co-workers and I get together for drinks every couple months and Gaylord Street is a perfect location between my house and work. We will stop coming to the Tavern.

So, I came back on a Saturday and whoa, slow the presses, college football and the boys in my hood love college football. This place was packed. The hostess and manager at the door walked me to an empty seat at the bar - love that service. I noticed that there were groups of women chillin', groups of guys chillin, yet families and groups of friends watching the game and laughing. It felt like the quintessential neighborhood bar. It was still warm and cozy inside even though it was so crowded - usually hard to pull that off with a sports bar type environment. This time I tried the Duo (chilled appetizer duo with guac and chilled queso). It comes with chips only but is quite tasty. The guac is kinda peppery and the chilled queso had a kick. I liked it. Oh yeah, and the HH has 2-4-1 house wines, wells and some beers, but you get a little paper voucher for your 2nd (of the 2fer), and if you don't have it during HH that particular day, you can bring the freebie-slip back on another day during HH and get your free drink then. WTF! I love this place. Great vibe. Cool people. Staff was ok - some super cool, some annoying. But management was there on top of things and all kinds of smiley-friendly "ya'll come back now hear"? And I will.

The "Tayern" (yes, look at their logo) hospitality group really offers chain blight. We were on a quest for appetizers and everything was as good as Chili's (not a great recommendation). All of us have worked foodservice, so we make certain to round up all requests so the server doesn't have to visit again and again. This particular server would hear one request and instead of waiting to hear the rest, he would disappear for 10 minutes to accomplish a 2-minute task. I haven't been to other "Tayern" properties, but I assume they have the same kind of corporate feel that makes suburbanites comfortable.

Another Saturday lunch. Tracie and I split a 1/2-lb burger (blue cheese, bacon) and fries. We received no bacon, but our server, Adrienne, noticed the missing ingredient as soon as we did and quickly brought us bacon. The fries were crisp and tasty and there were plenty of them. The burger was good, not great--cooked medium rare as ordered. The bun is not very tasty, but it was buttered and grilled. The music was soothing and just at the proper volume. Our service was excellent. At this restaurant is just 4 blocks from our house, we plan to return for meal that involves wine. It will be way more relaxed than today's Diet Coke food accompaniment.

We were up visiting friends that live close enough to bike ride over, so we did for a nice lunch. I was a pretty cool place to hang out and eat. On Sundays they have all you can drink Mimosa's and a Bloody Mary Bar for specific hours, which we missed. But the deal they did have was sliders, wings and a couple of other items for discounted prices. All in all it was a great place to have a Sunday Brunch or Lunch.

I try not to be a hater, but... the menu is overpriced and everything on there is forgettable. The happy hour is marginal and they carry all of ONE craft beer on tap. And it's Great Divide for crying out loud! This is a TAVERN? If you like Coors products, keep walking. Other than a good atmosphere for game watching, I have no idea of the appeal here. Maybe for dates, but I'm married and just don't get it.

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Well...Tavern Wash Park left me feeling a little outcast. A group of us stopped in for late night drinks last week, and I immediately liked the cozy feel of the place. Toasty fire going in the fireplace, fronted by a few nice couches, what looks to be a great patio for warm weather, and overall a good atmosphere for a small group - loud, but not so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation across the table. Their lemon drop martini is quite good, and gets you where you need to go fast. However, if you order at last call you might not be able to finish it. Just into my second drink (right after last call), a guy with a security earpiece came by and said "you have 5 minutes to finish your drink and then we're closing." Well, ok! When said closing time arrived, he came up again and said - "you have about 10 seconds to finish your drink. Slam it or I'm taking it." Whaaa? I totally understand a place needing to close in a timely fashion, but being polite about it goes a long way in my book. We were in no way being rowdy or obnoxious, so this made me feel pretty annoyed. I don't think the attitude of one employee reflects the attitude of an entire restaurant, so I'm willing to go back and try them out again. But just a head's up if you're planning on being there late.

I have visited Tavern Wash Park and have had pleasant experiences, until now. I went with a group of about 12 people on Sunday, Sept. 1. One of our party is from Argentina and he had his Argentinian drivers license. He was told that he could not be served as it is not a US or Mexican ID. In the past some places (not many) have only accepted foreign passports as proof of age (my friend is around 29 or 30). So, I asked if he had his passport would that help, they said no. The manager came out and verified this ridiculous policy, which excludes anyone (even Canadians) from enjoying an alcoholic beverage that is not from the US or Mexico. Considering that I have seen multiple Tavern locations take foreign ID before, this seems like either a poorly enforced policy or a way to discriminate. I used to tell all the foreign visitors I work with that this was a great place. I guess I can't do that anymore.

Great place for happy hour! I have been there several times and every time I have, the staff has been wonderful. Their happy hour specials are great, appetizers at half off and wine and beer. Lindsay is great, and all the bartenders are especially nice and friendly. Food is awesome. Can't go wrong!

What a great little spot!!! Service was GREAT! Sat morning at about 10/10:30a and the patio was so NOT crowded! The menu was very good and surprisingly relatively inexpensive! Service was great too! TV monitors are situated around the patio area as well and they had a different sport on each monitor, NICE! They had a build your own Bloody Mary bar, DANGEROUS!!! LOL!! This go round I had the Spicy Chorizo skillet, YUM YUM GIMMIE SOME MO!!! Damn that was good!!! Definitely a hot spot for me!

I went here with Dan W. once and I think he's pretty much correct in his review. I can't really complain about the place, but I've definitely experienced better places than this. I feel like the bartending staff was good enough, and there are lots of TVs for watching your favorite sporting event, but the fancy bar food is slightly too pricey for it's quality and quantity. I also think the regular-priced drinks are a little too pricey as well. Happy hour was reasonable.

I found myself here Saturday to catch the Nuggets playoff game. Not a bad place to catch a game, there's a collegiate kind of atmosphere and the crowd is fairly into it. The number of big-screens is pretty impressive, with approximately 3 TV's in any given line of site - maybe a tad excessive but the end result is there's not a bad seat in the house, so sports fans can rejoice. Also, it was 2-for-1 beers on their happy hour - and a good happy hour on a weekend isn't super common. However, I was not excited about the overpriced food, and neither were my comrades. "Wow they're not messing around on the prices" was the general comment. Nothing stood out as looking particularily good, so i thought I'd play it safe and ordered the chicken nachos. What arrived in front of me on the table made me roll my eyes and laugh - I should have known better. Approximately 10 round tortilla chips circling the plate, each with 2 pieces of chicken, some melted cheese and a slice of jalepeno on top, along with some guacamole, sour cream, and the teeny-tiniest cup of salsa in the middle. Ruh...? A pretty hilarious nacho offering, but at least it clarified for me that 10-chip nachos with teeny-tiny salsa cups are a major pet-peeve, so it was an enlightening meal if nothing else. My friends thought their food was nothing to write home about either, especially at the prices. A good place to catch a game, but much less than that as somewhere to get a bite to eat.

We went on a Saturday night. One of the coolest things about The Tavern is the atmosphere and location. It's in a really cool neighborhood and the inside the Tavern is really sweet and relaxing. They have double patios, one out front and one in the back, between them is one big lounge! Couches, high-top booths, a fire place with a sofa right in front of it, a nice sized bar, with 360 degrees of access and HDTVs everywhere! Everything was clean, hip and trendy inside, and a real chill atmosphere, dim mood lights and comfortable seating. Now, onto dinner. We shared a couple of appetizers and they were delish! We wanted to try something new and different, and opted for the Buffalo Calamari. A great choice, but confusing to my taste buds! We also tried the 'Choke'. Grilled artichokes with a creamy dipping sauce, it was good, but nothing great like the Buffalo Calamari. Our server was prompt, friendly and attentive throughout the evening. For dinner we had the Fish Tacos after much deliberation, the menu was diverse and tricky to pick something, it all looked really good! Salads, pizzas, burgers, etc... The fish tacos were good, served with Spanish Rice that was blah. Nowhere near the best fish tacos I've ever had, but they were good enough for the 11 bucks. The mojitos were good, and the cosmos came in a nice sized portion. All in all a good experience, I would actually give them a 3.5 star rating. It's worth going to check out, but nothing spectacular making me want to go back this weekend for more.

Went for drinks with family who live nearby. Cheap drinks, good service and a nicely heated patio to watch the shoppers on Gaylord street. I think this is a pretty cool place to hang out. I plan to return to try the food.

Over the course of the summer I've been watching the renovation to what would become Tavern at Wash Park which finally opened Monday 10/27 and I must say it's a welcome addition to the Gaylord district. It's smaller in size and the menu is a bit scaled back from the other locations I've been to (Tech Center and Downtown) but they did a nice job with the place. There is a nice sized bar with lots of TVs along with a small indoor dining area which has a fireplace which adds a nice touch. It also has outdoor areas both along the street front and in back which have heat lamps for when it gets cold. Overall I'd say it's nicer than Reivers which is across the street and a bit more laid back than Wash Park Grill down a couple of doors. And with their good happy hour prices and food makes for a great place to hang out and/or watch a game.
(4)
Monica B.
If you've had a long day and want a decent happy hour, this is your place. No fuss and no frills. You won't get a spectacular glass of wine, but you will get TWO generous glasses of cheaper wine for the price of one. Also, if you just so happen to sneak out of work extra early, their happy hour starts REALLY early. Works for me!

Walked in on Saturday evening. Totally packed and as soon as we walked in everyone turned to check us out. So blatant and disturbing. We left immediately. Meat market. Gross. I am officially not a fan of The Tavern franchise.
I think this is where you go to continue drinking after you have a nice dinner next door at Wash Park Grille. I thought a Wash Park neighborhood sports bar would be a little bit more upscale, but judging by the big crowd other people obviously think it's just fine. I can't comment on food since I didn't have any, but the service was a bit slow.

Had lunch at Wash Park Tavern today. It was my first meal there. We sat outside and boy was it hot. The problem is that they have a black plastic sun shade over the patio. That might work well in winter, but not in July. Frankly, the heat kind of ruined the experience. The food was fair. I had a Med steak salad. Pretty tasty (but they couldn't manage to cook the steak rare). The hummus was good. Service was prompt and friendly. My overall impression is that this place survives on its bar and appetizers -- especially during sports events (lots of TVs). There are much better places to try on that block of Old South Gaylord if you are looking for a meal.

Went back for the fourth time the other night. Each experience since the first has been "A-OK", just like the three stars say, and not "Yay I'm a fan!" as the four stars indicate, so I guess it's time to downgrade. It's a college hang out on weekends apparently, because we were carded on the way in. I didn't have my ID, and they insisted I go get it. Dang! I'm 43, people! Oh well, chalk it up to them doing their job I guess. Good thing I was staying 1/2 block away and my ID was very accessible. In all honesty, my $11 pear salad that I ate last meal was a zero or one star salad. The lettuce was brown on the edges and wilted, and the pears were brown in color. Someone must have made the salad much earlier in the day or maybe even the day before. For $11, I expect better. We just had wings with our salad, and they, along with our nice server, and my other A-OK experiences are saving The Tavern from a bad review. She was very attentive, and bought us each a round of drinks. The wings were crispy without being dry which we liked. All the other meals have been fine here, also. So yeah....I am in no hurry to head back, but at the same time if friends want to go here, I will join them.

This is the second tavern location I have been to, with the other being near Coors Field. The location is good and it's got a good feel to it. The food and drinks are a little pricey but our server was actually very good, hooking it up after she brought us the wrong drinks. I had an average hamburger with average fries. Maybe I should have branched out but I was looking for bar food. My friend had a good Philly cheese steak. The crowd is definitely interesting including suits, O.R. scrubs, and fat balding men in too tight hats with ski goggles on. If I lived anywhere near here I would pop in often for a drink.

Very inconsistent. Yesterday, lunchtime: not enough staff, on the floor or in the kitchen. With perhaps 20 people in the place, we waited 30 minutes for one salad and a bowl of chili (seriously?) Buffalo chicken was dangerously close to being not fully cooked, and smothered in so much cayenne it was virtually inedible. Felt better after leaving a $30 lunch in the john :45 later.

This place never fails to deliver. Always good food and an upscale environment. Good place to watch sports events and they constantly have good deals going on. Check out the bloody mary bar they offer on Saturday's early until around 2 and the bottomless mamosas.

just what old south gaylord needed - a little facelift. love this place and the cozy atmosphere it brings to the block. they've got a great patio area and it's just a little upscale but chill enough to wear whatever you want. i like it. the cheesesteak is ridiculous (peppers and jalepenos please!), the Thai sweet chili wings are amazing and even the side salad with house vinegrette is to die for. the fish & chips?? eh. i'll go back and stick to what i know on the menu since it's been good so many times before!

My ex-husband and his friends obsessively love this place and come here all the time, so since he is my ex-husband now, I don't make it to the Tavern too often. Also, it is in my old hood and I have a new neighborhood pub/sports bar, so that is a factor too. But I went last night with some friends to watch college football (seriously, Mother Nature, college football is on now, maybe you could make it not be 90 damn degrees every day for a while? Just a thought). And the Tavern is just fine. The food is good, better than you'd expect at a bar. I am still sad that no Taverns except the original Uptown have southwest eggrolls, but their honey wheat margherita pizza is darned tasty. Especially if you add chicken. Yum, I love pizza!! They have great drink specials for happy hour most of the time which is nice, and they'll do doubles (I think the deals are mostly buy one get one), which I enjoy - I drink so I can get drunk! I also love the huge patios, both in the front and in the back. My only beefs are that the servers always seem like they have too many tables to deal with, and I feel that the crowd is a bit more of a scene than I would like when I just want to chill out with friends and watch football. But overall you can easily get me to go to the Tavern especially if you remind me about the pizza!!

This is a pleasant place and I can't think of anything bad to say about it. It's very comfortable. The happy hour was reasonable. I've heard they have wireless Internet access which I will plan to attempt to use during a future happy hour. I do miss the Mexican place that once occupied this very space.

Went for dinner the other night. Asked if they had cocktail onions and was told no. When I mentioned that this was the problem the last time I was in and that they had promised to rectify this, the waitress said she would go double check with the bartender. Lo and behold, they had 8 bottles of cocktail onions. I little Grey Goose and some dirty additions served up, I was pleased that they could now make a legitimate Gibson here. Food was decent, but nothing worth writing home about. Fair is fair though, they do not deserve to languish in 2-stardom since they now have the basic ingredients to make a common drink.

I can't believe I paid money for this food. It was terrible. Now I'm not a picky eater- in fact, I don't even write reviews because typically, even mediocre food is still food. But I had the calamari (appetizer) here and it was so bad, I couldn't even finish it. It was so incredibly salty that it was just disgusting. The drinks we sub par and our service was awful! Now I don't blame our waitress because she was doing her best, however, there was a 20 top that came in and we basically never saw her again and no one else was sent over. Really, just terrible over all.

If I were to base this review just on my food, it would be 1 star, tops. I had the special, which was called something like Italian/Sicilian pasta with tomatoes and meat balls. As one of my dining cohorts pointed out, there are usually only 2 reasons any place has a special, and that's either to try something different, or to get rid of aging ingredients. In this case, I think there was a super ball factory trying to move some stock, because these were the HARDEST meatballs I have ever had. Seriously, I put one on my fork, knocked it on the side fo the plate for the others to hear, and it was very obvious to all present that these meatballs were like rocks. I even mentioned it to our waitress, she apologized, and had them bring some different ones, just as soon as the cook prepared them. Very nice, problem is, these were just as hard. The pasta mushy, and the sauce was out of a jar. As I said, if I based the review solely on this dish, I'd give the place one star and never return. Another of my dining cohorts offered part of her burger (which was my original choice, but I foolishly opted for the "special") and it was very good. Juicy, great taste, done just how I like it, etc. I've had better burgers, but this one was pretty damn good. Big fries, covered with a seasoning whose name I knew a second ago, but escapes me right now, but they're good. These fries would win most fry challenges, if that were a real thing. There were 4 in our party, and the other 2 (who know a lot about food quality, etc.) both really liked their plates, one having the fish and chips, the other with a big honkin bowl of Cowboy chili. The fish and chips looked good, and came with several pieces of cod, accompanied with a large portion of fries. The chili's appearance was also inviting, and, as mentioned earlier, the bowl was big. and honking. It was a big honkin bowl. He took a good amount with him, and I don't think that would normally happen with a bowl of chili. Service wise, I have no complaints whatsoever. Our server, Adrian, was great. Super nice, had personality, very attentive and helpful. I won't let the fact that she's cute as a button with the best dimples (ever) sway my judgement. She did her job, and did it well. Appearance wise (of the restaurant, this time) was modern pub. Clean, with spot lights on each table, but not in your eyes. It's very relaxed there, I loved the fireplace (instead of fake logs, it just one long flame, pretty cool, I think), the bathrooms were very clean. We were there in the afternoon, so I have no idea what it's like at a busy hour, I would bet that the staff is just as good. Great location, too, I love the area. Parking sucks when it's busy, as I have eaten at neighboring establishments several times, but we're Coloradans, we can walk a little, right? All in all, a quality place, just a very poor choice of plates for them to promote.

Went for a business lunch here today, was really nice. pleasant layout, busy, but private enough for business conversation, decent menu, reasonable prices and attentive but not overbearing service. I had the burger and it was great, the fries were good too. I'm told this is a chain, but felt authentic to Gaylord Street in Wash Park. I was impressed and will go back.

Have you ever been served a food item from a restaurant with a WORM in it?? Well, this was the case for me Sunday, April 19th at the Wash Park Tavern. A few of us cruised over hoping to sit outside and take advantage of the weather. Our wish was divinely granted as we found great table in the sun. We ordered a couple cocktails and decided we were hungry. We made the mistake of ordering the buffalo calamari, which is an overdone rendition of buffalo wings with, you guessed it, fried calamari. So becuase we were still hungry we ordered a Grilled Artichoke for the table and i ordered a burger. You can probably imagine our dismay when, after we had eaten half the artichoke, we uncovered a worm. I've never seen anything like this in my 34 years on this planet. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. We sent it back, at which point the manager came out and apologized and told us he would comp a portion of our tab. I was absolutely astounded that a dining guest found a WORM in their food and the whole tab wasn't comped. Wash Park Tavern must be feeling pretty good about themselves though as it's usually a pretty good crowd. I guess the worst part of the experience is getting food poisoning from, I'm asuming, the burger. I was laid up for 19 hours with the usual symptoms. It was absolutely miserable. To be fair in this forum, i will say to those of you looking for a cool, sports-bar, neighborhood atmosphere, this is a great place to drink. The build-out is pretty cool and there are plenty of great TVs so every seat in the house has a good view. Of the handful of times i've been there the service has been lacking. I'm not sure if this is because they don't staff enough servers or the servers are simply spoiled from working at a consistantly busy bar. Either way, the service sucks. If you're trying to get a drink at the bar during a busy time you'd better bring a fold-out chair or have the patience of Gandhi. I truly believe, with a few tweaks, this can be as great a place as their other locales. But cleanliness absolutely needs to be addressed and so does the service. I may never eat there again but can't say you won't see me there for a couple beers. Well, maybe a year or two from now, or at least after i get rid of this diarrhea.

I came here on a Saturday night during the Colorado V Colorado St game. I decided on the very refreshing Moscow mule, my go to drink as of late. The waiter was prompt and the outdoor bar/patio gives the place a great ambiance, especially the streaming lights laced along the fence and trees. Perfect weather too (coming from a native Houstonian )!!!!

Sucks because I live within biking distance.

after leaving the Tavern, i immediately murdered a box full of puppies. my experience was so abruptly terrible, that my heart had exploded. i guess i should not be surprised, because the so called beef they brought me almost certainly spawned the Alien that burst out of Kane's chest. in other news, the service was absent. i had two drinks, paid my tab and left . frankly i was wasting my time. i could have distilled a bottle of whiskey before a third drink came.

Good food esp for a bar (tavern burger, clam chowder, chicken wraps...), good atmosphere. LOUSY SERVICE (on a not-very-busy Sunday afternoon) destroyed the vibe.

(3)

So much yes. The food is fantastic (try the tavern ultimate mac & cheese - it's hard to save any to take home!), they have great happy hour specials and ladies drink free on Thursday night! Free WiFi, friendly staff, and luckily for me it's right around the corner from work! They have a nice patio that is great in warm weather & i've never had to wait to be seated. I've been to a couple other Tavern locations, and this is by far my favourite. Check it out!

Love this place so much I eat there almost everyday. The staff is very nice and the bartenders are great as well. Clean and way better than the other locations. Me and my co-workers always go here for drinks. Tell all of my friends about it.

Really enjoyed sitting out on the deck here this last weekend. The staff was very attentive.

I think this place has great food, good drink specials and a relaxed atmosphere. On top of that it is right in my neighborhood which I love. Great place to meet friends, the staff are super nice.

Stat.

Fair is fair though, they do not deserve to languish in 2-stardom since they now have the basic ingredients to make a common drink.

just what old south gaylord needed - a little facelift. love this place and the cozy atmosphere it brings to the block. they've got a great patio area and it's just a little upscale but chill enough to wear whatever you want. i like it. the cheesesteak is ridiculous (peppers and jalepenos please!), the Thai sweet chili wings are amazing and even the side salad with house vinegrette is to die for. the fish & chips?? eh. i'll go back and stick to what i know on the menu since it's been good so many times before!

Stat.
(3)Allie H.

(4)Brian S.
The food here is amazing. Their fish and chips have been poking my cravings portion of my brain for days now. The place is clean, all of our food was great, and the location was easy to walk too. The service was meh, but i think it was a singular incident. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to this restaurant.
(5)Audrey S.
(4)Elizabeth M.
Good food/service great neighborhood, and great dog friendly spot on their back patio. Thank you for letting me take my pooch.
(4)Colter H.
(4)Shawn S.
(4)Chris H.

Bartenders aren't that great, pour is awful, why do i even come here anymore,?? Lowry tavern is so much better

(5)Sara H.
(4)Cheyne M.
Great location on Gaylord Street in Wash Park... and an excellent place to catch a game or meet up with friends. It's very similar to the other Tavern locations throughout Denver (same food, drinks, and overall vibe), but I think this one is my favorite due to the location and the patio.
(4)Julia M.
Great food. Good for large parties. Would definitely come back for this place. Also the employees are extremely friendly. Such a lovely place.
(4)Rachel D.
Half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays + a fantastic server named Julious. Need I say more.
(5)Erin G.
(5)Elizabeth D.
(5)Cameron F.
Nice patio in the back. The food is certainly a step above most chain bar but a but expensive for.......bar food. In the area, check it out!
(3)Francisco P.
Only 2 stars cause bartender was very nice. Food was horrible, bland, old tasting.....i feel bad to do this because the bartender is so sweet, yall are lucky to have her
(2)Brandon S.
(2)David T.
Good food esp for a bar (tavern burger, clam chowder, chicken wraps...), good atmosphere. LOUSY SERVICE (on a not-very-busy Sunday afternoon) destroyed the vibe.
(2)Phillip M.
after leaving the Tavern, i immediately murdered a box full of puppies. my experience was so abruptly terrible, that my heart had exploded. i guess i should not be surprised, because the so called beef they brought me almost certainly spawned the Alien that burst out of Kane's chest. in other news, the service was absent. i had two drinks, paid my tab and left . frankly i was wasting my time. i could have distilled a bottle of whiskey before a third drink came.
(1)Christen G.
Tons of TVs, bloody mary bar, spiked coffee bar and bottom less mimosas make this place a Sunday staple
(4)Richard R.
(4)Andrea K.
(3)Brick H.
(5)Jason J.
(2)Cris F.
(3)Cindy M.
(4)Adam D.
Went here for brunch on a Sunday. Our service was friendly, but slow. The food was really good though. Loved the home fries. Sweet chili wings were good as well. Tons of TVs, including one embedded in the bathroom mirror. Very cool. Good spot to hang out on a football Sunday.
(3)Sharod D.
(1)Kati E.
Food is pricey for the small portions they serve especially the appetizers. Drinks are overpriced. There is one waiter/bartender with blond hair and a long ponytail is incredibly rude. We try to avoid him every time we go there but keep getting stuck with him :(
(2)James N.
(2)Kalani F.
(3)Bruce D.
The service was good, friendly, but not intrusive. The food, reasonable for a sports bar. Good size portions and a bit pricey. If you patronize a sports bar, in a made up chic neighborhood, you should not expect much more than that. Parking is horrible, I bet it is hell on game day.
(3)Lindsay H.
(3)Kari M.
(3)L.R. S.
After a day of festivities and relaxation in Wash Park, we stopped in for a drink and a quick bite. The drinks were mixed with perfection, and the happy hour apps hit the spot. We love the patio seating. The service was "ok" - nothing to complain about but nothing to rate highly either.
(4)Lee S.
(4)Cara K.
Cute little neighborhood spot. Has a nice patio and plenty of TVs for game-watching. The food was just okay - nothing too special, but more interesting than the average sports bar.
(3)Amy F.
Sunday Funday Bloody Mary Bar!!! So many goodies, mixes, and spices to fix it your way! only $5.50 Service was great!
(4)Chris C.
Love this place so much I eat there almost everyday. The staff is very nice and the bartenders are great as well. Clean and way better than the other locations. Me and my co-workers always go here for drinks. Tell all of my friends about it.
(4)Sean P.

Dt
(3)Len T.
Freezing on the enclosed patio with the heater inexplicably shut off despite requests to turn it on.
(1)Emily R.
I find most of the seating here remarkably uncomfortable! BUT, I really like the food! They have an amazing mac n' cheese (I think the best I have had in Denver) and the steak is to die for. The food will keep me coming back.

Really enjoyed sitting out on the deck here this last weekend. The staff was very attentive.

(1)Christy H.
Allison was wonderful. I would definitely recommend her service - and the Tavern at Wash Park to everyone. We have been back several times and regardless of the server, we have always had a good experience.
(5)Curtis B.
(3)Jas K.
(5)Emilee C.
(3)Anjum K.
average overpriced food, mediocre service, and the worst ambience of any bar or restaurant in the area.
(1)D.Johann H.

(4)Sushi L.
So much potential, wish the service could smile a bit.
(3)John C.
(2)Samatha M.
Was my first time visiting this location and had a great time! Sat at the bar and enjoyed the happy hour drink and food specials. The staff was great and attentive, always made sure I had everything I needed! I will defiantly be back.
(5)Laura L.

(1)Amy M.
Great place for happy hour! I have been there several times and every time I have, the staff has been wonderful. Their happy hour specials are great, appetizers at half off and wine and beer. Lindsay is great, and all the bartenders are especially nice and friendly. Food is awesome. Can't go wrong!
(5)Jess O.
Pretty good happy hour deals and a nice outdoor patio.Service was a little slow but very nice. Very quiet on a Friday afternoon, making a perfect place to catch up with an old friend.
(3)Rob L.
(4)Sharon H.
I think this place has great food, good drink specials and a relaxed atmosphere. On top of that it is right in my neighborhood which I love. Great place to meet friends, the staff are super nice.
(4)Nicholas N.

(3)Keyta E.
Went for drinks with family who live nearby. Cheap drinks, good service and a nicely heated patio to watch the shoppers on Gaylord street. I think this is a pretty cool place to hang out. I plan to return to try the food.
(4)Matt P.
(4)Monica B.
(3)Erin S.
Walked in on Saturday evening. Totally packed and as soon as we walked in everyone turned to check us out. So blatant and disturbing. We left immediately. Meat market. Gross. I am officially not a fan of The Tavern franchise.
(1)Hans O.
THIS IS ACTUALLY A 2 STAR REVIEW, BUT DUE TO ITS PRO-ACTIVENESS I'M RAISING 1 EXTRA STAR, AND YOU'LL SEE WHY. Tavern at Wash Park's interior will take you to the twilight zone, in a good sense; like their other sisters, they share the same idea of being cool, very cozy, few sofas around, a nice fireplace, dim spot lights, comfortable seats, a real comfortable and warm place to be. I would imagine that on summer its really nice, since they have a patio that its seamless, the transition between indoor seating and outside seating is perfectly done. Service is great! Our server was great - she was sending the "you will have a great time here. I'm relaxed (in a very good way) and you'll have a great time." If Strawberry Swing was playing that would make a magical moment. I had fish and chips - cod was perfectly seasoned and batter was really light and crunchy, it was good. Fries were regular, but I wasn't expecting anything out of it anyway. I was on the lookout for the fish, and it was good. According to my friend, and actually it really looked amazing was her cheeseburger, looked that it was well executed, grilling wise and she said it was good. If I try again dining here, a burger would be my choice. But what it really strikes me bumping one more star for Tavern Wash Park is that unfortunately our other friend's pasta and meatballs weren't great, they were tough and we could feel the toughness when he was bouncing them on a side dish. His entrée was the special of the day. I'd encouraged him to at least bring his concerns to the waitress before he slaughters this place's review. Promptly he brought his concern to Adrian and few minutes after she left our table, the manager shows up asking my friend to give another try. Came out that the meatballs came a little better. But just of the fact of being pro-active is really cool. Food might not be their forte but customer service, drinks, and their atmosphere is cozy.
(3)Katherine B.
(2)Tom S.

(3)Michael R.
(3)R B.
(1)Yoi K.
Slow ass service. Slow ass service. Slow ass service. Good corn bread and fried pickles. That about sums it up.
(2)Lane C.
This place never fails to deliver. Always good food and an upscale environment. Good place to watch sports events and they constantly have good deals going on. Check out the bloody mary bar they offer on Saturday's early until around 2 and the bottomless mamosas.
(5)Erin J.
just what old south gaylord needed - a little facelift. love this place and the cozy atmosphere it brings to the block. they've got a great patio area and it's just a little upscale but chill enough to wear whatever you want. i like it. the cheesesteak is ridiculous (peppers and jalepenos please!), the Thai sweet chili wings are amazing and even the side salad with house vinegrette is to die for. the fish & chips?? eh. i'll go back and stick to what i know on the menu since it's been good so many times before!
(4)Barb B.
(3)Bobby M.
pricey and silly the patio is ok cougars on the prowl

This is a pleasant place and I can't think of anything bad to say about it. It's very comfortable. The happy hour was reasonable. I've heard they have wireless Internet access which I will plan to attempt to use during a future happy hour. I do miss the Mexican place that once occupied this very space.
(3)Jeff J.
Good for happy hour. Drinks and Appetizers were good along with the price. I never get to dinner.
(4)David S.

Three words: holy cougar den!

It's like the Jersey shore in Wash park. Make sure you work out before you go so you look huge with your collar up. What else would you expect in Wash park? LAME!!!!
(1)Dan B.

(4)Elizabeth M.
Good food/service great neighborhood, and great dog friendly spot on their back patio. Thank you for letting me take my pooch.
(4)Colter H.
(4)Shawn S.
(4)Chris H.
(4)Sara H.
(5)Tanner P.

Bartenders aren't that great, pour is awful, why do i even come here anymore,?? Lowry tavern is so much better
(1)Jen U.
(5)Erin G.
(5)Elizabeth D.
(1)David T.
Good food esp for a bar (tavern burger, clam chowder, chicken wraps...), good atmosphere. LOUSY SERVICE (on a not-very-busy Sunday afternoon) destroyed the vibe.
(2)Christen G.
Tons of TVs, bloody mary bar, spiked coffee bar and bottom less mimosas make this place a Sunday staple
(4)Richard R.
(4)Andrea K.
(3)Brick H.
(5)Lindsay H.
(3)James K.
(2)Jason J.
(2)Cris F.
(3)Cindy M.
(1)Kati E.
Food is pricey for the small portions they serve especially the appetizers. Drinks are overpriced. There is one waiter/bartender with blond hair and a long ponytail is incredibly rude. We try to avoid him every time we go there but keep getting stuck with him :(
(2)James N.
(2)Kalani F.
(3)Bruce D.
The service was good, friendly, but not intrusive. The food, reasonable for a sports bar. Good size portions and a bit pricey. If you patronize a sports bar, in a made up chic neighborhood, you should not expect much more than that. Parking is horrible, I bet it is hell on game day.
(3)Kari M.
(3)L.R. S.
After a day of festivities and relaxation in Wash Park, we stopped in for a drink and a quick bite. The drinks were mixed with perfection, and the happy hour apps hit the spot. We love the patio seating. The service was "ok" - nothing to complain about but nothing to rate highly either.
(4)Lee S.
(4)Sean P.

Love this place so much I eat there almost everyday. The staff is very nice and the bartenders are great as well. Clean and way better than the other locations. Me and my co-workers always go here for drinks. Tell all of my friends about it.
(4)Toni D.

Dt

P.S. - Best group of regulars a place can have;)
(5)David B.
Really enjoyed sitting out on the deck here this last weekend. The staff was very attentive.
(3)Curtis B.
(3)John C.
(2)Nick C.

(1)Christy H.
Allison was wonderful. I would definitely recommend her service - and the Tavern at Wash Park to everyone. We have been back several times and regardless of the server, we have always had a good experience.
(5)Rob L.
(4)Sharon H.
I think this place has great food, good drink specials and a relaxed atmosphere. On top of that it is right in my neighborhood which I love. Great place to meet friends, the staff are super nice.
(4)Jas K.
(5)Emilee C.
(3)Anjum K.
average overpriced food, mediocre service, and the worst ambience of any bar or restaurant in the area.
(1)D.Johann H.

(4)Sushi L.
So much potential, wish the service could smile a bit.

(3)Rex B.
I really like this place. Its within walking distance and it has a nice patio and its great if you want to watch a game. I have been here twice and have had the Tequila chicken salad and the Chipotle Chicken Pasta and both were very tasty. The decor is nice and the service is friendly.
(4)Kelsey H.

Stat.

Was my first time visiting this location and had a great time! Sat at the bar and enjoyed the happy hour drink and food specials. The staff was great and attentive, always made sure I had everything I needed! I will defiantly be back.

(3)Nicholas N.

(3)Keyta E.
Went for drinks with family who live nearby. Cheap drinks, good service and a nicely heated patio to watch the shoppers on Gaylord street. I think this is a pretty cool place to hang out. I plan to return to try the food.

(2)Tom S.

(4)Monica B.
(3)Erin S.
Walked in on Saturday evening. Totally packed and as soon as we walked in everyone turned to check us out. So blatant and disturbing. We left immediately. Meat market. Gross. I am officially not a fan of The Tavern franchise.
(1)Suzy S.
(3)Michael R.

Slow ass service. Slow ass service. Slow ass service. Good corn bread and fried pickles. That about sums it up.

This place never fails to deliver. Always good food and an upscale environment. Good place to watch sports events and they constantly have good deals going on. Check out the bloody mary bar they offer on Saturday's early until around 2 and the bottomless mamosas.

Good for happy hour. Drinks and Appetizers were good along with the price. I never get to dinner.

It's like the Jersey shore in Wash park. Make sure you work out before you go so you look huge with your collar up. What else would you expect in Wash park? LAME!!!!

Fair is fair though, they do not deserve to languish in 2-stardom since they now have the basic ingredients to make a common drink.

just what old south gaylord needed - a little facelift. love this place and the cozy atmosphere it brings to the block. they've got a great patio area and it's just a little upscale but chill enough to wear whatever you want. i like it. the cheesesteak is ridiculous (peppers and jalepenos please!), the Thai sweet chili wings are amazing and even the side salad with house vinegrette is to die for. the fish & chips?? eh. i'll go back and stick to what i know on the menu since it's been good so many times before!
