Cute place, nice furniture inside. Generic chi tea, I get the same brand at target.

I stopped in on my way to work one morning and the menu was very vague. I wish they put the glaciers on the drive thru menu. I waited longer than I should for a cup of coffee to go. Didn't taste like I had hoped, but still pretty good. Haven't gone inside yet but definitely will come back to see what else they offer. The name is very eye catching.

wonderful coffee house with perfect coffee's and interesting art work to ponder while enjoying your favorite hot or cold beverage. Service dogs are welcome without question. my German shepherd Service dog and I give it 5 stars.

This is the only coffee shop within a mile of our place. Thank goodness it's great! The staff is very friendly and the prices are awesome. I had the breakfast sandwich and my husband had a Santiago breakfast burrito. We both ordered coffee. Not sure where it's from, but it's great. Can't wait to come back!

This is exactly what a coffee shop should be. Good coffee, fair prices ($3 Cappuccino) and a genuinely friendly and attentive staff. What really sets it apart from the chains is that it encompasses the neighborhoods culture with the art and style inside and out. I've yet to try the food although they sell Santiago's burritos along with sandwich's which I will definitely try on my next visit. In my opinion the best coffee shop in West Denver.

This is a cute little shop with nice artwork on the walls and a few comfy chairs scattered around the room. It is comfortable and the music was good. The coffee is roasted by Picky Bean, which I haven't heard of before. Their espresso is roasted dark and tastes pretty good. They have a drive thru window.

The coffee is good, the decor is awesome, the baristas are beyond friendly & helpful, and it's quiet/spacious for studying/working.

My friend raved about this place, too bad I don't agree with her more. First of all, I think they need to put effort into making the exterior more like a coffee house. I mean, they even went as far as building a drive through! The space is big since it's stand alone building. And the restroom is clean. I was excited to see so many syrup flavors (like 20 of them!), albeit only typed out on a piece of paper and taped to the back of the espresso machine. Another thing I don't get: they have a perfectly good looking board menu, why not put the flavors up? I asked for a "flavored cappuccino" (since I like more foam than milk) with Almond and Butterscotch syrups, but not too much since I didn't want it to be a dessert. But what I got might as well have been an unflavored cappuccino. Compared to my recent latte experience at Caribou Coffee, this one was less tasty but more expensive. However, I will give them a star for letting me have free brewed coffee refill to go. And I appreciate seeing those individual International Delight coffee creamers sitting out, that's much better than just plain old half and half. Perhaps it was the barista that day, perhaps it takes more visits to get the right cup of coffee, my friend sure has figured out her way: after adding half and half to her coffee she asked for whipped cream on top, which technically doesn't come with regular brewed coffee but the barista was happy to comply and didn't charge her extra (which I'd think is something Starbucks would do, urgh!). No wonder she's one happy customer.

Nice little stand alone shop with pleasant customer service. Menu is a little hard to figure out, but my drink was perfect. I'm in this area fairly often for work and drive by so I'm glad I gave it a try. I'm looking forward to coming back and grabbing lunch and a flavored latte next time. It's always nice to try something different than the big chain, so I hope this places continues to succeed.

We get the blended coffee drinks here which are actually very good. We've also tried both the Santiago burrito (spicy) and the breakfast sandwich. The Santiago burrito is what you'd expect (meaning good) but the breakfast sandwich was laughably small for the price. As a result, I don't order food when I go to The Mean Bean. The place itself isn't very conducive to sitting and working while drinking your coffee, which is what I look for. The staff is generally nice. The guy who sings on the weekends is too loud and will drive my whole family out of there, fast. The drive-thru is nice, even if it takes a little while to get your drinks. Okay place; check it out for yourself.

Hate Starbucks and always prefer local coffee joints? Give this place a try. Their mocha is pretty good. Haven't tried their other stuff, but I love how small this place is.

I've NEVER been a huge fan of Starbucks...but I love the Mean Bean! I hope they open more locations. Great coffee and trendy and comfy inside.

Love this place! White chocolate mocha was awesome, pumpkin muffin was delicious! Give this place a try.

I love having a gathering place in our neighborhood. Wonderful place to meet friends and have one on one business neetings. Good menu and I hear that the food menu will be expanding. Will plan on more lunch dates here. Definitely will return on a regular basis.

Friendly staff, cool local art, but staff smoked weed a bit after I arrived and it stunk the place up. I understand it's legal in CO, but like cigarettes, please don't push your habits on other people, especially customers. TIA!

This is the only coffee joint west of downtown unless you're into starbucks... The outside is unappealing (i'm a painter) but you feel right at home once you step inside. Free refills on coffee - YES PLEASE! And they serve Santiago's burritos - YUM! Relax in their comfy chairs and they'll chat with you for a spell - A GOOD TIME ALL AROUND

I was especially early for work this morning so I decided to look for the closest coffee shop with the best rating, this place came up. I ordered the latte and it was actually pretty good, not burnt, scolding hot, and they even put in the proper amount of sugar. A definite benefit, aside from the fact they were open that early, was the fact that they had a drive through and made it nice and convenient. The customer service was pretty good and the young lady was fairly nice. Since it was early in the morning the place wasn't full or anything so it was fairly quick. Because I went through the drive through I don't know about the inside or facilities. I did notice that they also serve Santiago's breakfast burritos so if your hungry there is always that as well.

Cool little joint. Friendly staff. Good music. Nice and cool inside to get out of the summer heat. Places like this can start urban renewal, or in this area, suburban renewal?

Great place for an iced coffee. The staff is super friendly and will gladly offer help you if you have questions or are looking for recommendations. They have plenty of different selections and a drive thru, which is great so I don't have to lug the little kids out of the car after I drop the older kids off at school. The prices here are way more reasonable and affordable then that other big coffee chain.

One of the first things I noticed when I moved to this neighborhood was the abundance of incredible restaurants, and the incredible lack of coffee shops. Finally, we have a place to call our own! A local neighborhood spot for a shot! Despite my excitement, I had some reservations. I'm absolutely a coffee aficionado, and bad coffee can really, really, put a strain on the day. Ink has strained several days, and Dazbog has straight up ruined a couple of others. Dramatic, I know. So, we walk in... The interior needs work, and some background tunes would be very welcome. The awkward silence kills. And why are you serving Monster drinks? But they're brand spankin' new to the neighborhood, and what really matters is the coffee. I ordered my usual, and the guys behind the counter were super friendly and welcoming. Their hospitality helped to balance the awkward dining area. But let's get down to brass tacks. How was the coffee? Surprisingly good. Far better than Ink, and blows the quality of Dazbog out of the water. They use Coda coffee (I'm pretty sure) and do a great job. I will absolutely be back, and the fact that they have a drive through as well warms the cockles of my sometimes lazy heart--for when I need my fix and don't wanna get out of my jam jams. Give this place a try!! I will certainly be back. **Edited after several more visits** Please figure out your pricing and keep it consistent. I get the same thing every time, and my price has ranged from $4.85 to $9 bucks and a couple of price points in between.

I'm a new fan of a much needed coffee shop with no frills-Mean Bean Coffee! I walked in, was greeted with a smile, ordered a cup of Joe and went about my day. Thank you Mean Bean for bringing a much needed coffee shop to our neighborhood.

The Mean Bean is a good place. The coffee is better than Starbucks. It's a newer place and they've had some growing pains. But believe me they keep getting better. And this neighborhood needs a decent coffee shop. I live 4.5 miles away and there isn't even a Starbucks between here and there. Where in urban America does that even happen anymore?
