The Yelp reviews on the District are pretty accurate. I wouldn't say this was the worst, but also was not the best dining experience. The food was pretty decent. We got the fish tacos and carnita tacos... both were good. Appetizers and dessert were OK, nothing special. The downfall to this place (from my experience and others' based on reviews) appears to be the service. Our waitress, however nice, seemed to be off on other priorities, our table not being one. At one point, I had to ask another server to get her because it had been 30 minutes since we had seen her. It wasn't just her, the majority of the wait staff appeared to float around and not be too observant. I was surprised the place wasn't more packed for a Friday night, but after our service I can suspect why. Again not the worst experience, but I doubt I'll return. - Overall- Food = decent, service= lacking (I could provide better service), Price= Overpriced.

I was so excited to try this new restaurant. The menu looked and sounded awesome but sadly did not deliver. The special pork loin was overcooked and chewy and did not come even close to having a stout sauce with mushrooms as described. It was more like a boiled pork loin with a couple mushrooms thrown on top and the broccoli was barely steamed and tasteless. The bacon blue cheese fries with bbq sauce were actually fries (that were decent) with melted blue cheese a couple pieces of bacon and a homemade ketchup that was supposed to be bbq. I will gloss over the poor service. I think that was just our luck tonight. But I will say the first thing she said was "I wasn't even supposed to be working tonight". That should have been our first clue. The evening was not going to go well. I will also say that someone at a table next to us when asked how her mac and cheese was said it was not good. If they can figure out the execution of this menu this place would be great. The space is awesome and is a wonderful location. Here is to hoping the management reads this.

Great happy hour bites. Fun atmosphere. Try the charcuterie plate!! Servers are very nice. Ours gave us a few little beer tasters when we couldn't decide what to order. We will definitely be back!

We only came in for drinks but the vibe is good and they have a descent price happy hour.

Worst brunch experience I have had in Denver thus far. First, it took over 10 minutes to be sat as we waited for a host to approach the host stand. Once we were being seated, they took 3 of us to a table with 2 chairs. They were able to find a chair after a few minutes. 10 minutes later, no server had approached us. When I asked a server if they knew who are server was, he just said "let me ask," and he didn't come to our table again. 10 minutes later, as we were about to leave, a server came up to us and asked if we were ready. No apology. We ordered our food and drinks together. We had no silver ware at our table so weak d to get up and ask. And when our food was finally delivered they had walnuts on the French toast instead of pistachios and gave us the fried chicken Benedict instead of the fried chicken and pancakes. Also, for the "biscuits" they were toasted hamburger buns. Awful. The one good thing that happened is we got the egg Benedicts free because it wasn't what we ordered. Will never be going there again. Food and service were poor.

Fun happening destination! The "it" place if the moment on 17th... $10 bottomless mimosas and bloodies.... Great patio... Awesome prices

First visit and won't be my last! Unique brunch menu. My food was average but my friends raved about theirs. Mimosa and Bloody bar is best in town. Our server, Casey was awesome. A group of 6 all drinking bottomless drinks can be tough. She was a champ! Definitely recommend!!!

Went there for drinks a couple weeks ago and had a fairly good crowd near the bar. Decided to go back this evening and try out the food. It was busy and atmosphere was upbeat and fairly busy without a wait to be seated on a Friday night, but now I know why. 1) ordered the croquettes for appetizer which didn't come out after waiting 45 mins. Apparently they served it to the table next to us who sat down for 10 mins. Painful watching a table who came in after you enjoy your appetizer when it's late and you're hungry. 2) the server sold us on a special that I decided to get since he said it was served on arugula and that's what sold me on it. Absolutely no arugula. Just a plain mixed green salad instead. Poor knowledge on specials and what's in it. 3) where's the water! Given my experience there I don't know if it's a place I'd go back there unless I was in the neighborhood and needed just a drink.

The food is awesome- we got the bacon appetizer and the truffle fries... AMAZING!! Our server was super attentive and the manager was very involved and invested in our experience. Our first trip, certainly won't be our last!!!

  • Jesse S.

There was nothing especially bad about the experience. Just rather bland food at inflated prices. The veggie breakfast burrito was unremarkable, and at $12, overpriced. For that money I'd just as soon go somewhere else. Hot Cakes, at 18th and Humboldt, has a better burrito for $10.

Have given this place 2 chances now. The first was Brunch. My friend asked if the OJ was fresh squeezed...server says, yes. Real answer, NO WAY! Then my toast showed up and sat on the side of the table for 15 mins before my food arrived. The server said, "I don't know why they dropped off your toast so early." But, NEVER offered new warm toast, so it sat there the entire meal. My eggs were hard and way over cooked as well. The food is nothing great. The second trip was dinner. There were 3 of us. Drinks were good. But then when our 3 entrees were brought out on a giant tray w a tray jack...I had to look around and see if I was eating at Apple-bee's. I mean what the?? A giant tray and a tray jack?? I haven't seen those items in a restaurant since... ummm, high school. Food is again, nothing great. If this restaurant plans on sticking around, they better get it together. There are PLENTY of amazing restaurants in Denver to choose from.

We went to this restaurant last night as we were intending on dining someplace on 17th...the outside patio looked great and there was seating available. When we went in and met with the hostess, she said there would be a wait for the outside tables, which is fine...however, those seats were never seated the entire time we were there 1.5 hours. As another reviewer mentioned...we were seated at our inside table...and given waters and menus. It took over 15 minutes for someone to arrive to take our drink order. We placed our order for drinks and a couple of items off the "share-ables" menu, and it took about 15 minutes for those to come out too... The Mexi fries that were supposed to have cheese and jalapeño (and the cheese tasted and looked a little like Cheez whiz). My boyfriend ordered the Mac and Cheese...nothing special at all...and my friend and I split the Charcuterie board that was just ok. The food at the restaurant seems like it might have good potential...however the service is TERRIBLE. It seems like none of the staff know how to work in a restaurant..and half the time, they are standing around talking at the hostess table. there were probably 6-7 servers last night, however no dirty plates were cleared off our table, water was never refilled. I also think they are interested in pushing the bar attraction because around 10 they started playing really annoying electronica music. All in all..I probably would come back..but i think there is a lot of room for improvement with the servers.

Seriously love this place. Amazing salads and burgers. GREAT price points, and service is always good. The bottomless mimosa bar is on point. The decor is nice and cozy and I have yet to have a wait there. My new favorite spot in the neighborhood for sure.

First of all....construction debris in the window sill is nasty, but not as nasty as the blue cheese "sauce" if you want to call it that on the fries, do you know what moray is? The fries, were still slightly raw in the middle. The burger that I ordered medium came out well done. It was dry and crumbly in texture, the only thing that made it edible was a bunch of ketchup...gross. My date had the fish and chips. There is a difference between mayo and tartar sauce....he got a cup of mayo with his overdone fish and soggy fries. Management was clearly having a business meeting up front, maybe they should have been in the kitchen doing a line check and tasting the food going out, that is what makes a restaurant, the food...which here clearly was lacking. Its just another generic addition to the generic row of restaurants on 17th. Same boring menu and same mediocre food.

Since I live in the neighborhood I've been anticipating the opening of this place for awhile, and so far it has not disappointed. They have a great selection of beer on tap, as well as a menu where I literally want to order everything on it. I've had their Reuben fries covered with in-house smoked pastrami, swiss and Russian dressing which I devoured promptly - how could that be bad, right? They also had a number of salads with fruit which I personally really like, and they were reasonably priced between $7-9. Adding chicken breast was only $3 more, which again is incredibly reasonable. Bonus points - apparently their late night menu is available till 1:30am every night. Nothing else in the area serves quality food that late (yes Fat Jacks and DP Dough are delicious, but you can only easy so many sandwiches and calzones). Can't wait to try brunch - I saw a number of different hashes, one of them with multiple kinds of meat if I remember correctly?!? Can't give it 5 stars until I've tried the brunch, but I'm sure it won't disappoint.

I would definitely try this place again. They did suffer from "just opened syndrome" by having spotty slow service. But the food was good. We had a nice bottle of wine that was very cheap and a nice dinner. Judging from other reviews, they may need to rehire some servers.

Amazing menu! Delicious brunch menu and you can't beat the all you can drink bloody mary and mimosa bar. Extremely friendly staff and overall excellent dining experience. I'm told a rooftop dining area is coming this summer as well! A real gem for uptown Denver!

I have been here twice for lunch. I enjoy their huge half portions. I order a few and share. We had the ribs twice, the mac and cheese is a winner too! The patio is great for people watching, the umbrellas shelter from the rain and the staff didn't seem to mind serving outdoors. I will go back to try happy hour soon!

Space and patio 5/5; service 3/5; food 2/5. The patio is a great space on 17th and a nice place to enjoy a drink. The food leaves a lot to be desired (wings were small, scrony and lacked flavor; fries were mediocre; sandwich was dry and bland). Fortunately, there are many places nearby where you can go for a bite to eat after your drink.... The menu sounds good, but isn't well executed. Right now, the space is all they have going for them.

Was really awesome atmosphere. Food was delicious. And service was great. Not many beers on tap at the moment. But that's ok they are blowing through beer. Sign of a good business. I will absolutely be going back. So many unique things to try on the menu.

Food is just bland. Atmosphere ok. Service ok. It's too bad because it is a perfect location. Not quite on the same level as other spots opening on 17th.

We have been to the district three times and it was great! We did not have the same issues with service as the other yelpers. The first time we sat inside and our waiter was spectacular. He took his time explaining the menus and answered all of our questions. I love the fact that this restaurant prides its self of locally sourced and homemade! We had the bacon flight with lamb, duck and pork bacon. All three were delish. It was served with a maple reduction but we didn't need the dip they were better on their own. The butternut squash dish (can't remember the name) was so good we had it on two different visits. It has unique flavors and it is great vegetarian option. On other visits we have had the grilled cheese, wings, BLT, Pulled Pork and Hot Dog. Simple dishes but for us they were all well executed. Our party of 4 sat outside on a Saturday night at 7 and we were in and out of there in an hour.

terrible service, three staff could not come up with coffee in 15 minutes...messed up the bill on top of it...no remorse...owners should know they are losing business...but maybe it's an understaff problem too...either way, can't see myself even trying again

Went in randomly on a weekday night. Super trendy like a lot of the newer spots that have been popping up around Denver, craft cocktails and flavorful foods. Not a ton of people but to be expected from a new restaurant. Fun and attractive wait staff and bartenders. Highly recommended.

This place was very delicious! Since moving back to Denver, I was excited to try new places and I think I found a winner. The atmosphere was very modern and had a great vibe, especially the outdoor patio. I recommend the chicken fried sliders. Great beer selection.

So many delish choices and great service - what's not to love? The deafening television volume. That is definitely not to love. It can be avoided by eating outside in nice weather, but who wants to wait until spring to eat here again? Not me! I go for brunch, which has yet to disappoint - from the fried date french toast to the fried chicken eggs benedict to the bottomless mimosa or bloody mary bar, I love this place. The service is usually pretty good - there can be a lag between all parties being served, which is awkward. I hate eating when someone in my party is waiting for their food, but who wants to eat cold food? They need to work on their timing. On the plus side, the servers are super friendly and attentive, even if they have to yell to be heard. I've also had the fried chicken and pancakes, which is their take on chicken and waffles. Good pancakes, but I liked the fried chicken benedict better - sausage gravy! They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and tell them you're coming to be waitlisted.

Love this place! Great Sunday brunch with large portions and the best Bloody Mary Bar as well as Mimosa bar in town! Staff was polite and fast and the food is great! They have great theme nights now and I cannot wait to check out the Pajama party January 30th!

I actually love The District! My fiancé and I were in town looking for a wedding venue, and decided to meet a group of friends for dinner here and absolutely loved the whole experience. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, the drinks were delicious, and the food and the dessert?! SO good! We enjoyed the Mexi-fries, Tri-bacon, and the Charcuterie plate as a table and while they were all great, my favorite was the Tri-Bacon. That smoked maple dipping sauce is legit. There were 7 of us at dinner and almost all of us got different entrees and were very pleased! The salmon and the pasta were our tables big hits! Now let's move ahead to dessert, because it was my favorite part hands down. The chocolate cookie dough cigars and the chocolate torte will blow your mind. Do not make the mistake of skipping dessert at The District otherwise you might never know the joy of chocolate cookie dough cigars, and that my friends would be a travesty.

Went for brunch last Sunday and my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised! There were some not so good reviews in the beginning for this place. At first we sat at a hightop because there were not available tables outside, it was a beautiful day. Then we decided to switch over to the bar, which was a great idea. Bartenders (Bo and Penny I believe) were super friendly and helpful with the menu. Food was great (Scotch eggs and breakfast Mac) and so was the Bloody Mary/mimosa bar. We are going back for more! The host stand was a little chaotic and unorganized when we arrived and there was a floor/bar manager walking around not smiling or talking to anyone just refilling juices etc that didn't quite fit in with the rest of the happy staff but everything else was great and we had a lot of fun.

Every time we drove by The District it seemed just packed. Last Friday night we decided to go there after a gallery opening and take our chances. It was 8:30. We called ahead and they said there would be a table for two when we got there---and there was. That was a nice surprise. The place has a nice vibe. It's on the sparse side and a bit noisy, but not so much that we had to raise our voices and lean across the table to be heard. The waiter was excellent. He had great timing and knew the menu. We shared some small plates like the tri-bacon, the pear salad and we shared the smoked spaghetti squash entree. We liked everything---no complaints. Honestly, we didn't expect the food to be so creative. Had a few cocktails, which were good and stiff enough. The drink selection wasn't huge, but adequate. The prices are pretty reasonable. After dessert it was about $60 before tip, and we felt well sated. I see this as a place I could go once every week or two since it feels more like a neighborhood joint rather than a full on fine dining experience that sets you back a benjamin.

Atmosphere is really good. Beer is cold and drinks are good. Brunch menu is okay. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. The one thing that was consistent was the chicken was VERY dry. Kids ordered the tenders and we got the Benedict. The batter was also very bland. Needed to salt it up and add sauce to give it flavor. The Mac and cheese is not really kid friendly unless they like rosemary. Take it out and I think it will work. Its a new place so they need some time to work out the kinks.

Our party of 8 had a fabulous breakfast here this morning. All-you-can-drink Bloody Mary bar and French press coffee, fabulous omelet, to die for breakfast Mac and cheese, great pancakes, chicken-fried steak...great menu and fresh, filled with flavor ingredients. Service was fun, friendly and high quality! Absolutely recommended!!

Pretty decent dinner. I have not gone for brunch but they do have bottomless mimossas till 4pm, which is great if you wake up late on the weekend. Some meals have been great like their butternut squash risotto, however I have been pretty disappointed with some others like the Ruben and chicken fried steak sliders which were way overcooked and very bland.

I've been to this gastropub three or four times- both for happy hour and for dinner. They have a great patio with prime people watching, and full service kitchen until 1:30am (who else does that?!) I think the happy hour is the best deal. It runs Mon-Fri from 3-6pm, and there's also a late night happy hour from 10pm-1am on weekends. They offer beers, wines, wells, and their special District lemonade with vodka or whiskey for good prices. For food, they have a variety of tasty options. My favorite is the fries- servings are pretty large, and the toppings are unique and delicious. You can order reuben, bacon & blue, or Mexican to top 'em. There is a nightly food special as well- I can't remember which night, but there is a $6 burger which is delicious and a steal!

Decided to check this out with a friend because we were in a comfort-food kind of mood (unplanned rhyme there but leaving it). This is definitely a heavy menu so if you are looking for a large, filling meal this is the spot - especially if you start with the loaded fries like we did. Annnnnd the bacon flight. Both of which were AMAZING. They have a couple options for the loaded fries - we gave the Reuben fries a shot and they were very good! Again, super heavy and those combined with bacon, unfortunately, did not leave a lot of room for my dinner which was the pulled pork BUT of the two bites I did have, it was really good :) The service was great and the food was good - the restaurant has a good scene and it was just an overall great experience - recommend!

I have been to The District numerous times (brunch, lunch and dinner). Always a great atmosphere and experience. Brunch is about the best deal around with very reasonable food prices and $10 bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary's. My favorite brunch items are the unique Benedicts that are offered. For lunch and dinner, you have to try the Cuban smoked squash entree. Vegan, delicious and great value ($12 I believe). Plus they have some unique rotating events like Tuesday movies on the patio (with 1/2 price wine all day), live artist demonstrations on Thursday, Sunday night patio barbecue, and more...

  • Alexis C.

Wine here for the Tuesday night movie after doing some work at bicycle cafe. Tuesday also happens to be half off wine- so basically it's like an awesome outdoor Netflix experience with a full bar and menu and you don't have to get up and serve yourself. Because it starts at 9 I didn't want a full meal (just a full bottle of wine)- but my friend got the poached pear salad with mahi mahi and said it was good. I got the fries with blue cheese, bacon and sauces- which were amazing and perfect for a movie night. We got a decently priced (and then half off) bottle of red wine with our meal, and they had free popcorn available as well. Towards the end of the meal we got a delicious cheesecake to split which uniquely came in a mason jar glass. Can't wait for the next movie night, and I will definitely be back to explore the menu some more!

Stopped in on a Sunday for brunch. There was a bit of a wait (to be expected) so we seated ourselves at the bar and took advantage of their $10 bottomless mimosa deal. Their mimosa bar was kind of neat, once your glass is filled up with champagne, you were able to fill the rest of the glass up with juice. I wasn't a fan of the mango juice, so I stuck with the classic orange juice. We decided that we were over mimosas and were told that for $5 more we could add bloody marys to the deal. SO AWESOME. This was a hit among my group of friends. We made many trips over to the bloody mary bar, daring each other to add more horseradish or hot sauce. After around 45 mins of waiting at the bar we were seated. I ended up ordering the eggs Benedict, I can't remember the name of the dish (thanks bottomless mimosa/bloody mary bar) but it had a cheese hollandaise sauce and duck bacon. It was alright, I wasn't a fan of the cheese sauce or the duck bacon, but overall it was satisfying. I did notice that there were pretty small portions throughout my table. Aside from that, it was a really neat place to take friends and being able to hang out at the bar was a nice way to pass the time.

We walked in last Saturday at 10:30 and had reservations for 9 of us for a friends birthday. The place had a few people on the patio and less than a few inside. I couldn't believe how dead it was. But oh well- the waiter came right over and got the bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's started. They had 5 or 6 different juice to choose from and gave generous pours of champagne. Before we even finished one, we already had the next ready..my kind of breakfast! The reason I'm giving this place 3 starts is because the food was just OK. I ordered the breakfast Mac & Cheese and as a Mac & cheese connoisseur it was sub par to my standards. My friend got the chicken and waffles(or pancakes I guess they were) and it was a HUGE plate!!! Overall nobody in our group of 8 said their food was great so we will definitely be back for drinks.. And maybe on the food!

Great food, friendly & knowledgeable staff & service, great twists on classic American dishes and new an inventive creations. So I'm not a trendy or hipster twenty something, I'm pushing forty and have three amazing kids in elementary & middle school. I felt welcomed and respected. Heck my seven year old boy also had a great time. Great treat once in a while but for the prices could go far more often! On street parking can be an issue but well worth the hunting for a parking spot!

Just say no to the potato croquettes that taste like something in the frozen section at Costco! Also say no to any risotto you get here because it is never cooked, hard in fact! However you may say yes to the mason jar cheesecake. It is very good! Best and only good part of the meal!

I usually hit up qdoba on Monday afternoons (odd ritual, I know), yet diverted here on my walk over. It's right next to one of my favorite cafes (The DBC), so was hoping the coolness would seep over. There's a nice seating area outside where we plopped down. As it was 3p, it was happy hour (one from 3-6, another from 10-1a). They do have pretty awesome happy hour deals --- the district burger for $6 caught my eye (usually $11). Alas, I still didn't take advantage of the deals. I got the house smoked turkey-avocado Sammie (pretty standard, but had a nice blackberry aioli that gave it a kind of thanksgiving feeling), while my friend got the quadruple grilled cheese (again solid, not mind blowing). We each had a side salad --- their dressing offerings are pretty unique (had a garlic scallion vinaigrette that was excellent). All in all, a nice happy hour experience with good service (server Justin was pretty cool). Apparently this place has been open for 6 months and gone through 3 chefs --- seems like the offerings are solid enough (can't compare to old stuff). Id come back here again for a happy hour or consider its late happy hour (usually struggle to find solid spots in the hood aside from Stuebens open past 10 PM).

So, as many folks know, I am not trendy or hisptery or really that into brunch, as a non-egg eating vegetarian. However, to support a friend, we made a cameo here, and outside of a hell of a time finding parking, it wasn't too shabby. I did the build your own Bloody Mary bar, which was fun, although I didn't want vodka after my first round, and the servers seemed very confused by this. The vegetarian biscuits and gravy were fluffy and savory, and the Marilyn certainly met the needs of my sweet tooth. Leo got some sort of hash and enjoyed it, but felt the serving was a bit small. The servers were friendly, and although it took a while for food to come for our large group, they were incredibly on top of things with keeping our water and other drinks filled to the brim. My one sadness about the Bloody Mary bar? No blue cheese stuffed olives. Otherwise, for a trendy brunch place, my crotchety ol' self was satisfied, and I'd even consider coming here again, assuming we had an easier time finding accessible parking. Service really made this place shine.

Met up with the ladies for brunch here. Most of us were trying out the Bloody Mary's for the Bloody Mary tour. I opted for the mimosa bar instead. The pours are generous here and one mimosa was $3 or $4 and one was plenty for me, as I can't handle too much of the bubbly. For the bloody or the bubbly, the wait person brings you either a wine glass of bubbly for the mimosa or a tall glass with ice and vodka for the bloody. There is a table set up with a Bloody Bar and your choice of juices on the other side for the Mimosa Bar. Pretty cool concept. Some of the juices for the mimosa seemed a bit kiddie-ish, but the mango juice blend was just perfect for my tastes. As we had a group of 5, some of the ladies ordered some apps, a scotch egg and a bacon sampler. All seemed to be well-received. I ordered the regular French toast, which was simply delicious. A solid choice that was very good and at a reasonable price point. I had a taste of the bacon sampler and the peppered bacon was done right. And besides, bacon. . . mmmm. Our server let us hang out for awhile, which was nice as it seems to be rainy season in Denver recently. It was a fun time.

For our third Bloody Mary tour, we fortuitously decided to try a spot that offers a bottomless bloody bar, which is not very common in Denver (unfortunately). I easily made a reservation for us for a Saturday morning. As soon as we were seated, we were brought water and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Yes, please! Bloodies and one mimosa. The bloody bar has seasonings (celery salt, black pepper, old bay), sauces (sriracha, worschestshire, hot sauces), olives, horseradish, celery, pickles, limes, and pepperocinis. And of course, the house Bloody Mary mix. Bottomless Bloodies are $10. A single is $6. Mimosas are $3 a piece or $10 for bottomless. $15 if you want to mix n match. Whatever way you go, you'll be pleased. Generous pours of vodka and champagne. Four or five different juices for the mimosas. Now for the food: We started with a scotch egg (crispy, flavorful) and bacon sampler (get it!). Then three of us shared the pancakes (they let you get three different pancakes, if you ask. We had sausage, blueberry, and bacon), the French Elvis, and the morning Mac n cheese. I was most pleased with the Mac n cheese. Cheesy cavatappi topped with bacon bits and an egg (over easy, please!) Everyone was happy with food and service. We hit a snag when one dish wasn't quite right, but the staff rectified that quickly. Four stars because I have only been once and the bench seats are not comfy (seating near front of house). I'm sure I'll add a star after visiting some more.

Been here for 2 happy hours and 1 dinner. Been happy and drunk when I left errrytime. A: don't worry I walk there and home. B: when I say drunk I mean happily imbibed. They have great drinks and fantastic happy hour deals. I like that they sell some of their signature drinks by the pitcher to share with friends. (They make a margarita with Chili Beer. Get in on a pitcher of that). Happy Hour food and regular dinner hour appetizers are delicious. I have tried the charcuterie plate (fantastic price for what you get!!) the tri bacon (exactly what it sounds like so of course perfection) and the blue cheese fries (how could you go wrong). Also the carnitas tacos and mahi mahi tacos are FANTASTIC. Especially the grilled mahi. The service here is wonderful. They really go out of their way. One time I asked the split the carnitas tacos with someone. The order usually comes with 3 tacos and they gave us 4 JUST BECAUSE. Free stuff is the way to my heart. I also love love love their dog friendly patio and if you bring my dog a bowl of water and a treat you win me over.

I have a rule of thumb about local non-chain businesses.... you get two tries before a bad review. Sorry, guys, but you got three. The food and the drinks are really pretty bad. It's a good space, and the people are friendly though.

terrible service and even worse food! It took about 20 minutes for the waitress to notice we were sitting in her section, and another 20 for her to get two beers. this was also after a failed attempt to order from the bar. getting drinks and food only got harder throughout the night. and not just for my companion and i but for the waitress. the bartenders seemed to ignore her as much as the other patrons. i mean, how long can you pretentiously polish a glass? this was my first time at the District and i did not think i could be anymore disappointed, but then the food came out. i ordered the carnitas tacos. they brought me microwaved, three day old turkey. the district is rather terrible and there are plenty of good options nearby so just don't go and something better will be there soon.

Dinner here is awesome. They have a great bacon flight where you can taste different kinds of bacon including lamp, duck, vanilla, and maple. They also have an amazing steak option at dinner time that is topped with smoked blue cheese and served over risotta and roasted beets. This is my favorite! We had brunch here the other day which was not as impressive. The breakfast burritos were pretty dry. No one likes a breakfast burrito that isn't smothered! The green chile was also more of a salsa. Colorado does pretty well with their green chile but this didn't fit the normal description. They DO have an amazing all you can drink mimosa and bloody bar. You can make your own bloody and there are at least 4 different juice options for your mimosas. This place however, only gets three stars because we had such a bad customer service experience on the last visit. The staff had attitude the entire time, we waited on food and drink forever, and I even wrote an email to the owner afterwards and didn't even get so much as an apology or response back. Being in the service industry for 13 years, I know the importance of customer service and is a bummer that this place cant even its delicious tasting dinner out with its service. That is half the experience! :( They would have a solid five it looks like if they could have some consistancy in the service they provide and the food they serve. It is kind of spotty.

Best late-night food in the neighborhood! My first time here, the owner, Kerry, delivered my order( the special). Brined, smoked and Pan-seared, bone-in pork chop. Excellent vibe, bartenders and chefs. You're missing out if you haven't been here!

I was excited to check this place out. I sat at the bar and felt my tummy rumbling every time I saw a plate of food coming out. Everything looked so good! I decided to order the happy hour portion of the Reuben gravy fries. Man that was pretty good actually! I'd love to come back and try more things but I won't be sitting at the bar this time. The bartender was extremely inattentive and slow. She was older and lacked a personality. Plus, I can't stand it when another woman calls me "sweetie" regardless of age, I think it's rude and unprofessional. Maybe I'll have better luck sitting at a table instead of the bar.

So apparently on Sundays, for $10 (for 1 trip, $14 for unlimited trips), you can get a giant plateful of house smoked meats and as many sides as you want. This was a fantastic surprise when we stumbled in last night after sweating outside at the Jazz in the Park event. All the food was really good, including the mac and cheese, baked beans, brisket, brats, smoked chicken (etc). Even if there was anything to complain about, I wouldn't because it was TEN DOLLARS. How the place wasn't packed is beyond me. They said next week is pulled pork -- I'm sure my husband will convince me to go back.

Shocking, another weekend goes by and I have another post about a brunch in Denver, haha! This place.. Was different. We arrived at 10:30 AM to a completely empty house. On a Saturday. Maybe this worked in our favor, because our waiter was ON IT! They give u champagne in wine glasses and you are free to fill it with the juice of your choice, and our waiter brought that champagne bottle around enough to get us very "happy" lol. The mango juice was great with the champagne, my favorite! Some of the other choices tasted exactly like kool aid, which could be good or bad!! The food was decent, I got the district Benedict (see pics plz). I honestly wasn't expecting much because really we came for drinks and I read other reviews so I knew what to expect. I actually really liked the duck bacon and the presentation was great. You even get fruit, which isn't mentioned on the menu. The biscuit however was hard and not good. So, mediocre in the end. I would come back to day drink. Maybe eat before. We had a great time! Cheers!

Let me set the record straight... After driving by and seeing a packed patio day and night, we thought we would brave it despite the awful reviews. The very caring and thoughtful owner/manager has listened to the feedback and negative reviews. He has worked to refine the service, get food paced correctly, and is providing one of the best patio dining environments in all of Denver! Here's what you need to know-- 1) Very dog and kid friendly patio. Make sure your lil ones are friendly... 2) Bottomless Mimosas & Bloodys $10 3) Sat and Sun Brunch until 4pm 4) Bring your friends and have a good time! The mimosas are served in wine glasses and the juices are totally legit. Drink away! The Bloodys come full of vodka and the line up of mix-ins is top notch. I enjoyed several and can't wait for another session. We got seated on the nearly packed patio and received prompt and friendly service from Sarah. She was great. Around when we needed her, made excellent suggestions, and left us to ourselves to enjoy our afternoon libations. Any restaurant that delivers pink Himalayan sea salt on request is tops in my book. Next gluten free bread options are available so that's another score! Let's be honest here, there won't be any James Beard awards handed out, however the food was perfectly flavored, served hot, the portions were more than adequate, and the menu has plenty of variety. We enjoyed a bacon trio hash that was yumm-delish. Seriously indulge and be glad you did. And had the sausage omelette, which was loaded with good stuff and tasted great. Not to mention a super value and priced right for nearly any budget. This is the kind of place you go to hang out, drink, socialize, and spend time with your friends. The food is good and will go well with your drinks. There's plenty of beer on tap and all the top shelf mixers you could want. I would have to say this could be one of the very best patios in town! If you go and your experience isn't as good as mine, just let the manager know, I am sure any issues will be handled with grace and gratitude. I am big fan and am sure as time goes on The District will continue to improve and thrive!

I really enjoyed The District, though I have to admit I was worried based on other yelpers' reviews. Upon arriving we were immediately seated (group of 6) and greeted by the manager who let us know hospital staff get 10% off their meal - score!! Unfortunately I was having one of my queasy days so all I got to enjoy was the goat cheese and date salad. I would have liked some toasted hazelnuts too but it was flavourful, tasty without the vinaigrette even! A few at the table had delicious avocado and turkey sandwiches which came with a lemon and blackberry aioli. Another ordered the Bleu cheese and bacon fries. And all left empty plates, so clearly the food was satisfying. I was jealous; I want to return on a day I can actually eat! "Shareable" plates of tri-bacon (duck, pork, lamp) and ratatouille fritters, how can I not? And they have brunch too! We already plan on coming back for happy hour, so excited for next time!

After a trip to the Botanical Gardens we walked along 17th street to several restaurants and read the menus to see what sounded good. The District's menu offered something for all 4 of us. We sat out on the patio which was nice. Comfortable seating and shaded. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, fish tacos, burger and an appetizer of smoked meats, cheeses, vegetables and fruits. The platter had a nice selection of meats & cheeses, and pickled vegetables, but there was no fruit.. No biggie The pulled pork was good.. The BBQ sauce is sweet but has great flavor. There was nothing left on the plates of the fish tacos and hamburger, so I am guessing those too were winners. The service was great. Our waitress made sure our drinks were always full and checked several times to see if everything was ok, and if we needed anything. Great place for lunch!

I ended up at The District mostly because BSide next door was too full and had a 30-min wait. What can I say? I can see why The District wasn't full in comparison. The Pros: - Great service and great bartenders. - You can get a pitcher of cocktails like the Moscow Mule. Woohoo! - The bacon appetizer, which includes 3 different kinds of bacon. Yummm. The Cons: - Not particularly impressed by the gravy fries. BSide's next door are better. - The "jalapeno and cheddar" croquettes taste just like potatoes and not like jalapeno or cheddar. Bit of a disappointment. - The buffalo wings are good, but not as good as the fried chicken next door (seeing a pattern here?).

I've been here twice now, both times for Sunday brunch and I am a fan! I really enjoy the option for bottomless mimosas, Bloody Mary's, or both! They offer a variety of juices to mix with the champagne - yum! I've enjoyed the bacon hash with green chile (I must have), and most recently, the breakfast sandwich with bacon - scrumptious! In addition the staff is very personable and helpful. Can't wait to return again!

We visited for Sunday brunch, apparently before the place got too busy - we overheard one of the servers complaining that she'd only had two tables so far. Our server must've been having a rough day. It took more than 10 minutes after we were seated to be given menus and drink orders taken. When he brought over my coffee, there were grounds floating at the top. He noticed them, brought them to my attention by saying "sorry about the grounds in there, I don't know what happened," and LEFT IT FOR ME TO DRINK. I had to ask for another cup. When we received our breakfast orders, the four adult entrees came out, but not my daughter's Mac 'n Cheese kids' plate. The server had forgotten to put it into the computer. While it did come out within 10 minutes or so, I did have to ask that the included milk be brought out, as well as the french fries or breakfast potatoes. After that, the manager (or someone relatively in charge) came over and apologized for the mishaps and let us know that the kids' meal and the sausage appetizer we had were being taken off the bill. Our server also was trying his best for some service recovery at this point, making sure our waters, coffees, and iced teas were filled. The food was good: two smothered breakfast burritos, eggs Benedict, and a bread pudding/french toast dish drenched in chocolate and liquor. Overall, because of the food, I'd like to give this place a second chance. However, because of the service, I'd think twice about checking out someplace new over coming back here.

I'll start by saying that we ate outside on the patio, so maybe the inside experience is a little different. The inside furniture did look like it was high quality. The outdoors furniture, on the other hand was downright uncomfortable. I guess they're going for a rustic look, but the cheap metal patio furniture was off putting. My chair was wobbly, and the weird arm rest things dug into my sides. Yuck. We ordered our food, and waited nearly 40 minutes to receive it. While I'd have loved to have a leisurely two hour lunch, I was on my lunch break, so it wasn't an option. This place definitely isn't an option for an hour break from work. We started with the tri-bacon plate appetizer. The three different types of bacon were cool, and I was pleased to find that the sriracha bacon wasn't too spicy, but I though all of the bacon was a little under cooked. The two pork bacons were crispy and delicious on one side, but a bit gooey on the underside. The duck bacon was downright flaccid. For main dishes, I had the beef on weck, and Jon had the grilled cheese. Both were good, not great. Portion size was ample, but neither the flavor or texture were really remarkable. The salad was pretty standard, blue cheese dressing was something from a high quality bottle. Nothing special. Overall, I'd love to say I'd come back, another lunch spot within walking distance of work would be highly welcome, but it's just not doable on a lunch break.

Ugh, I was hoping that on my second try at this establishment that my star level would go up, instead I have to downgrade this place based on that meal. While the restaurant was able to accommodate my party of 8, the food was very disappointing. I ordered the butternut squash risotto and it came covered in a layer of oil. The squash wasn't cooked adequately at all and the dish lacked any seasoning. A couple of other women in my group ordered the same dish and came to the same conclusion. While the server was able to take care of our group and split our check just fine, every time he waited on us he sounded like a used car salesman trying to upgrade us on some special or addition to the meals.

After having a fairly tame weekend full of hiking and relaxing, we wanted to do Sunday hard. Real hard. One shot down and ready to go, we walk into the district. Hungry and thirsty, we feel at home. Surely well be taken care of by our district server friends. Boy, were we wrong. We ordered bottomless mimosas for $10...good deal until we realized how much champagne we got. What was this, champagne for ants?? Nothing! We the ordered our food, I ordered the tofu scramble... Which came out with everything but the tofu. Wtf. My friends ordered the breakfast sandwich with fruit (for the record, my friend was given 4 pieces of fruit and then charged for it) the veggie breakfast burrito, and the walnut pancakes. None of then we're satisfied. I give this review 2 stars because our waitress was awesome and the bottomless bar was awesome. The food on the other hand was shitty.

My friends and I wanted to try someplace new and were thrilled with our experience at The District! The restaurant itself is beautiful, the vibe is fresh and fun, and the layout is very comfortable. The bar has a little bit of separation from the main dining area so it feels intimate on either side. It wasn't super packed, so it was a great setting for us to be able to still have conversation and not feel rushed or crowded. They also have an amazing patio set up that I can't wait to try once it gets warmer. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We were never without a drink and they were patient when it took us a while to order (there were 6 of us and took a while to decide). They had great knowledge of the menu and helpful recommendations for both drinks and food. We met one of the owners as well as the manager who were very gracious hosts and wanted to make sure we were enjoying our night. We felt very taken care of the whole visit. The food was absolutely incredible. We started with the Tri-Bacon, Mexi-Fries and Charcuterie Plate to share, and everyone at the table was happy with each choice. I highly recommend any as an appetizer or to compliment a happy hour. I had the Fennel Glazed Salmon with Brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes, which was outstanding. I'm rarely able to finish a full plate because I'm a light eater, but I almost cleaned that entire dish, even after indulging on the appetizers. Others at the table got the Cavatappi, which I tried and will definitely have to get next time, the District Burger, which was ginormous, and the fried Mahi Tacos which she was very satisfied with. Major kudos to the chef, we were all elated with how everything tasted! Top it all off with a variety of delicious house-made desserts, and our night was perfect. We were very impressed and pleased with the whole experience! I can't wait to go back to try their brunch menu which looks equally as exciting, not to mention bottomless mimosas! Definitely looking forward to next time.

Great neighborhood bar with really good food! The bartenders have always been friendly and don't mind letting you sample a taste of beer or wine before you order. The house red wine at $5 a glass ($4 at happy hour) is pretty good, as is the District Lemonade. The vegan squash dish is fantastic, one of the best vegan dishes I have had anywhere. I also like the potato croquettes. Brunch was average-there are better places to go for good brunch, but if you don't want to wait for a table, this is a good option as there hasn't been a wait both times I've been.

If you haven't tried The District yet, what are you waiting for!!! Great food amazing atmosphere and staff!! Bottomless mimosas or bloody Marys on the weekend with brunch and it goes to 3:30 for all of us late risers. I highly recommend the bacon sampler they cure, smoke, and season in house. I have tried many items on their menu and every single one was amazing. You will not be disappointed!!!

I came to visit for the happy hour (3-6pm) I was pretty excited for the happy hour menu. The decor is modern rustic and on the patio there are rusted seats to add to the ambiance. I was here with a decent sized group in the bar area. The waitress came by once to refill 1 persons cup of water and walked away without asking the new people if they would like to order anything. The second time she came was to give someone their check and I jumped at the chance of asking for a cup of water. Luckily she came back pretty quick, but did not see her for the rest of the time. No water refills, no orders taken. We had to go up to the bar to order food and even then it was very unorganized. I think the guy helping was just the bartender and didn't really know the menu at all. I'm not sure if this time is suppose to be their down time?? there was no one helping with taking orders at all. I did read a couple reviews of poor service here, so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise. One woman ordered a Chardonnay thinking it was part of the happy hour wine list, but no one mentioned to her it wasn't. She was expecting it to be $5, but was charged $9 because it wasn't the wine for happy hour. I know as customers we shouldn't assume anything, but some times we just need a little guidance with ordering the correct item we want. Anyway, I would've given this place 2 stars, but added a star because of their food. I had the taco of the day (pork) $2, Mexi fries $3 and buffalo wings $4 (4 pieces). The taco was really, really tasty. It was very tender pork with just the right amount of dressings on it. Definitely a fan of that. The mexi fries were pretty good with the chipotle cream, it has a little spice to it with the fried jalapenos. The wings weren't bad either, normal traditional wings. No one really came by to check on us, we had to quickly grab one of them when they were dropping off a check or something. I think I will come back, but will be sitting at the bar where I hope to get better service.

I think I just had one do the best brunches ever here! I've been here several times but today was special. Justin, our waiter was new and being closely watched by his manager, Mike. It was very funny and one point I said "he's doing great!!" Coffee and water was constantly filled, always service with a smile and food was delicious. If you haven't had their duck bacon, then you haven't lived. Well done District! Definitely a go to staple for brunches in my hood.

Possibly my strangest dining experience ever. Server greeted us by telling us all the things were out of. Ordered drinks including a few mules only to find out later they were out of ginger beer. 45 mins after ordering entrees the server informed me they were out of the salmon I ordered. I changed my order. About 2 mins later the other 4 entrees for the table arrived. I don't understand how they prepared all the other entrees and then decided they were out of salmon. The manager and server were apologetic, but the entire experience was just strange. Food was nothing special and certainly not worth all the drama and navigating a menu of things they probably don't have The district has potential, a good location and a great patio, but they won't survive if they don't clean up their act

The District is hands down my favorite restaurant/bar destination in the Uptown area. The architecture is inviting to large groups, an intimate date or if you're solo. The wait staff is attentive, bartenders are friendly and the owners genuinely want to ensure that each dining experience is superb. There is always something going on (live art, beer and wine tastings, trivia, etc). There are a few nice TVs if you'd like to catch a game but don't want to go to a loud sports bar. Weekend brunch with $10 bottomless mimosas and bloodies has to be one of the best deals in town. And, the dog-friendly patio is regularly packed. Oh, and did I mention the 29 beer taps?

We went for brunch and this place was dead- at 10:30 am! It's clear as to why, because the food was not that great. EXCEPT for the bacon, or should I say bacon(s). YES- this place has multiple bacon! What a fun surprise! Pork, lamb and duck... Definitely go for the bacon, but avoid the french toast (the IPA style was bitter and soggy).

Monday dinner bust. Was pretty quiet when we came (730), which made the poor service even more difficult to understand. The waitress took forever to ask us for drink orders as our party came in, and half the things we tried to order were unavailable (my cocktail, the collard greens, the vegetarian green chili), though the waitress didn't let us know until the plates were being brought out rather than as we ordered). The specialty cocktails across the board were meh Prices were reasonable and dessert (flourless cake and ice cream) was really good, but definitely not worth another try with all the other options available in the area...

A little neighborhood gem for brunch... we will be back! Good food at a reasonable price, with a nice outdoor seating area in the shade. Did not go for morning medication, but their bottomless bloodies for $10 would certainly do the trick if need be. We shared the biscuits and gravy as an appetizer, and we would come back just for that! My breakfast burrito was full of good ingredients and brought a good sweat to my brow.

They should drug check their staff. I'm pretty sure our waiter was high because he kept forgetting stuff like our waters (we got our food before our water finally came out), and even whether we had already ordered or not (yes dude, you took our order). My wife and I went for brunch and got fried chicken and pancakes and the fried chicken benedict...very small portions of fried chicken but we weren't that upset because the chicken was so bland. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is the very reasonably-priced bottomless Bloodies and Mimosas during their weekend brunch.

Did not enjoy the food but really loved the Mimosa Bar!! There was poor circulation in the restaurant which in turn caused my group of 8 to constantly sweat and stick to our chairs. We were all in shorts and tank tops too.

Our part of our family met here for a quick get together. We sat on the patio which is a fun patio and as others have said...dog friendly. Our only problem was that as the sun went down it started to get a little chilly. After SEVERAL attempts, our server finally had to give up on trying to get the heater near us turned on. Everyone in my party was more than happy with the drinks and their food.

Pretty decent food, but it took what seemed like forever to come out. I went with three of my friends, and we all ordered burgers, medium. They must have been short staffed or just working slowly because we went through three glasses of water before our food came. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but we were all super hungry, so we were fairly impatient. When the food did come out, my bison burger was satisfying and flavorful. There was a nice char on the outside that enhanced the overall flavor, while the inside was still medium. I added blue cheese and it was $2 extra, which I wasn't expecting. Probably would have gone with cheddar if I knew blue was extra - it didn't add enough to justify it. My fries were on the soggy side, so I was less than thrilled with that. Also, all the condiments that the waitress brought us were almost empty, which was kind of odd in my mind. When I worked in f&b, I would always make sure I brought filled condiments to a full table, but like I said, maybe there was a reason for the less than stellar service. I'll probably give the District another shot, but it's not at the top of my list.

Usually the only reason I post to yelp is to be negative due to bad experiences but this is an exception....that is because The District is an exceptional place imo. I have been in Denver for a few weeks and have visited this establishment 3 times. Every time I have been very pleased with not only the sincerely friendly staff but also the food is absolutely amazing! This establishment obviously treats its employees well and it shows through the service and pride in the food it produces. Seriously though if for no other reason listed, come for the food...the chefs obviously take pride in what they send and it shows. Thank you.

Went here for brunch, not having seen the Yelp reviews. I'm glad I didn't see them because it would have deterred me from a great meal! The cereal bars and bacon flight are amazing, and the juice was fresh. Service was great. We will be back.

Wow! The food here is so delicious! I visited on a Tuesday night with a large group of friends. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by how good each dish was and the service was great. I had the butternut squash risotto. Mmmm hmmmmm. I sampled a couple friends' dishes, too, and yummy! I highly recommend "The Doctor" cocktail - unique and very refreshing. I look forward to going back!

I really really want to like this place. Uptown needs more decently priced restaurants with great patios and a casual feel. I love close and love to walk to local places. I just had lunch here and was thoroughly disappointed in my salad. I had the avocado chop with mahi mahi. The fish tasted rubbery and the dressing was nonexistent. The was nothing special with this salad, even after it being recommended to me buy the server. I gave this place three stars because the service was decent, I am excited for the location, they have good local draft beer prices and the happy hour menu sounds pretty good. Just work on your salads, guys! I will be returning to give this place another shot because I like to support my neighborhood.

I've been waiting for this place to open for a while and we finally made it there on Tuesday night. It's fairly new so I'm guessing they will only get better with experience and time but I feel I must mention a few things that bothered me. We were seated outside very quickly but it probably took us 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us to take out drink order. Needless to say, we had out food order ready by that time too. Once we ordered, service was much better. The food selection is great! And the fact that they have a late night menu available until 1:30 am is going to be great for them as well. Unfortunately, our food came out a little cold (possibly because they were busy or understaffed at the time) but otherwise, it tasted very good! I love the location and the ambiance of the restaurant itself. The patio is great and fairly large - very cute! I will definitely make it back to see if they have gotten better.

The District is one of the many new places popping up on 17th in the last year. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening for dinner. The space is unique, lots of separate rooms and a big patio. It was not very busy when we went in, we sat at a table toward the back, I think their were only two other tables with guests that I could see. The menu is good, lots of fancy bar food, however it is really pricey. The service was also really slow.

Came here around midnight after a concert, and was really delighted with my first experience here. Pre-prohibition cocktails were interesting and delicious, and the food we ordered came fast enough and was really delicious. I appreciated the lightly toasted bread of my turkey sandwich. Yum! The vibe was perfect too: casual yet classy, not very crowded, good service, really cool lighting and industrial decor. The choice of background music (some 90s rock nostalgia) was fun and not intrusive, as well as The Matrix silently playing on one of the TVs. We'll definitely be back!

When you see the outside of this restaurant, you get the idea that they certainly know what they're doing. Great decor, decent looking menu, a patio where anyone would want to be on a nice, warm day. They have a $10 bottomless mimosa/bloody mary bar that is delicious. Their food options were unfortunately slightly limited in my opinion, I felt like none of the options were really hitting the spot for what I wanted. We got the chicken fried steak which I hadn't had since I was a little kid at a crappy diner, I'm sure in reality something similar would've grossed me out, but I didn't really love the more natural option I received here either. It looked delicious, but the meat had a strange texture compared to the chunky fried batter on top, and all around I think it needs a little work. I would absolutely come back, uptown needs more restaurants like this.

Good food, if you sit at bar the service is great, if you sit around bar area terrible service. Dining room is marginal. Need to organize service.

Went here a while ago for a Saturday afternoon drinks. Ordered their sangria and it tasted like cheap, stale wine. Their ratatouille fritters I ordered were just bad. I ordered knowing it was vegetarian but I could hardly even taste the veggies- it just tasted like corn meal batter fried up in oil that's been reused it had a bitter after taste. There were three patties on the plate and I could hardly continue after my second bite. When asked for the check, it took about 15 minutes and when the check came it wasn't even correct. So asked to correct the check and it took another 20 minutes. In those 20 minutes we didn't even see our waitress around and the place wasn't even all that packed. After paying we left right away and I left my sunglasses on the patio table. When I called in to ask if they had kept it, they said they didn't see it. With the tips sitting on the table I'm sure the first thing they did was to clean the table before anybody else sat there and it's just hard to believe that they didn't see it. It just was not a good experience at all from the beginning to the end. I'm sure it was because they were still new and were figuring out their stuff. But won't be going back.

They have a really great bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary bar; which is rare to find since most places only do bottomless mimosas. I don't recommend the breakfast macaroni though. There was nothing to really rave about, but everything else there is really good.

Meh. The beer list was good, but the appetizers were mediocre. The "bacon trio" was different than advertised, and the Rueben fries were basically just cheese fries. They were out of the pork tenderloin, and according to the server they'd been out of it for over a week. The burger I ordered medium came and was completely overcooked and dry. I sent it back, and the replacement was even worse. The dessert was some kind of frozen cookie dough thing that was impossible to eat. The manager even said, "Yeah, I prefer the cheesecake." I don't think I'll be going back. Too many better options out there.

Great beer selection here! I was here recently for apps, dinner, and drinks and had a great experience. The hamburger was amazing and the croquettes were delicious. Yum.

The mimosas are the best thing here. They have a LOT of kinks to work out. I made a reservation two weeks ahead for a party of 11. They were very nice over the phone in accommodating my reservation. We arrived and had to wait over a half hour to be seated. They provided us with a couple of their breakfast corndog appetizers to appease us for the wait. That was nice of them and they were tasty, but they didn't bring enough for each person to try. Our food came out and some orders were not correct. The kitchen really needs to learn how to cook a poached egg. Most people's eggs were solid when ordered over easy or poached on Benedict's - see photo. One person in our party didn't get his food until all of us had finished eating and his hash was mostly potatoes - see photo (although he was lucky and his eggs came out properly poached you can see that they were butchered in the process). Some people's meals came with a biscuit but no bread or jam was ever brought to the table. We loved the idea of the mimosa bar and that was the original appeal but overall no one in our party was impressed with their food. Our server was nice, but the kitchen seemed to be really confused.

After 2 visits I've concluded this is not my restaurant. Both visits included trying to order items on the menu that weren't available. Tonight rather than saying the item wasn't available the kitchen simply subbed 2 of the main ingredients in a salad (date & goat cheese salad with arugula) and gave me a cranberry & goat cheese salad with spinach. Not really what I had in mind. The manager did give a partial discount but didn't comp the full salad despite the fact that it remained uneaten. Disappointing. That said, my husband's French fries were very tasty. If you go, stick to beer & classic bar food.

Nope. Sorry. Service was brutally slow, food was mediocre at best. I've been here twice now, and the first time I got my order to go. The pastrami was a bit on the dry side, but it wasn't the worst I've had in town. Fries were quite good though. The second time we came here we dined in, and the service was unimaginably slow. My food was just okay. I had their burger, which was the only non-breakfast thing on the menu on Sunday afternoon (even though they have an ANYTIME menu that, apparently, you can't order off of ANY TIME). Coffee was cold when it finally came out. The atmosphere is pretty decent and I like that they allow dogs on the patio outside. But they've got a long way to go before I'm willing to go back here.

I can only vouch for the bottomless bloody Mary's for a killer deal of $10. For my first visit, I was meeting up with some friends before tour de fat. They provide a nice drink station with a variety of different juice and garnishes for bloody Mary's. They generously provide you with a glass, ice, and vodka and you make your drink. You can switch from bloody Mary's to juice cocktails. The bartender was very nice and accommodating. The friends I was with did eat there and said their brunch was very good. I will be back to eat!

Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Drinks - need more info I was excited this place finally opened. Great space, nice patio, but the food is lackluster. I went with a couple friends. I ordered the mahi fish tacos. I love tacos, and I love fish tacos. Sorry, but these tacos made me sad :( overcooked, very dry, and totally skimpy pieces of fish... The side of rice and beans was also very bland. One of my friends ordered the Mac n cheese. It was more like Mac and they ran out of cheese constructing the dish. She was thoroughly disappointed. I tried it myself and agree it was very bland and dry. My other friend ordered the date and goat cheese salad which she did say was satisfactory. I really hope they can step up their game since the space is quite nice.

I went to The District on a Friday night with a group of 8. Our server was friendly but overall, the service was pretty sub-par. Appetizer plates came out as we were finishing our apps, drinks were slow to be delivered and often not what we ordered (they brought out singles several times after we requested double-tall drinks), and many of the menu items were not available that night. Even after we ordered, the server came back to tell us some of the menu items we ordered were not available. Food was OK. I got a burger and requested it be cooked medium-well and it came out very pink. Everyone said their food was fine, but nothing special. All that said, it's a cool ambience and a cool location. I would be willing to try it again, especially to sit on the patio during nice weather.

We sat at the bar and had to ask for waters and a menus after about 4-5minutes. the bartop was not busy. Great draft Root beer! Took the bartender a bit longer to come back and take our order. Ordered our food and it came out close to 30 minutes later! The food was pastrami rye and it was really good, except one of our orders was incomplete. We asked for the french fry toppings they forget and the bartender said she would remedy the situation. We had to go back to work after lunch so we asked for our check and to-go boxes due to the limited time to eat since it took about 45min from entering the door to get incorrect food(not included is the time to rush eat and box and pay). The bartender made us pay full price and we never got the french fry toppings we paid for. The food and draft beer selection is great! Service was below par. I do not recommend this place! good quality food and environment, but the service staff and long kitchen times is makes it worthy of two instead of 4-5

I hosted one of my happy hours at the district (total of 60+ people). Was a great experience. The people attending flowed well in the space. The staff was prepared and the food came out at a steady pace. I would highly recommend the district for parties ;). Ask for Kerry (one of the owners).

Food til close? Check. Badass brunch? Bottomless drinks at brunch? Check. This is the only place in City Park West with late-night food and drinks legit. And they've got movie nights, trivia nights, and game nights during the week. It's the perfect mix of bar/restaurant. Double expresso in the house.

Had really high hopes for this restaurant. Went in a little after 5 and it was very slow. Ordered drinks and they were less than impressive. One was supposed to have muddled blueberries, yet they were simply tossed in. For the other we were up charged $5 because we got something other than well liquor (only to be found out on the check). We ordered the fritter appetizer and it was good and came out in a timely manner. But we had to wait over 45 minutes for our dinner. When it came out it was lukewarm. The grilled cheese was horrible can hardly be called such, just toast and goat cheese. With all the excellent food and drink places in Denver, I can't see this place lasting long. We will definitely not be back.

It's curious to me that there are some negative reviews for The District. Maybe, I've been lucky, but I have had nothing but good experiences at this neighborhood bar. And the packed patio is always fun. People here are friendly, food good and service was friendly, attentive and on it. And the beer and drink options help the atmosphere too. I am not sure what else people are expecting -- and if anything it's become one of my favorite weekend spots in Denver.

Service was mediocre. I ordered the biscuits and gravy (vegetarian) and my food came out cold. Also they messed up my order by giving me sausage gravy. Don't order the bacon unless you like it soggy. The food was not good and I won't be back

The food was not the best. There were 6 of us for dinner so I think we got a pretty good variety of the menu. The problem isn't that the food is bad, it's just not as good or better than alternatives in this area. It's hard to say I would pick this restaurant again over competition. I would recommend that they revisit the menu. Either make the common menu items the best version around or remove them. Add some unique items that are not offered at other places. On the bright side, service was good. They lost my reservation but luckily they still had a table to accommodate. Waiter was very attentive and nice.

I came in here one day with my daughters for lunch. We ordered the Caesar salad, wings, and the poached pear salad. Yum! Service was among the best I ever had! The food seemed to be all house made and was delusions! One of my girls also had a housemade lemonade and she said it was perfect! I will definitely be back!

What a delightful surprise. We had late lunch. Price was $10-12 per lunch entree, and not overpriced at all. Steubens (down the street) costs around the same, but lacks the value. The District was unique, flavorful, fun atmosphere, and we enjoyed very good customer service from our server, whose name escapes me, unfortunately. A seasoned server it seemed: he did not badger us nor hover. His visits to the table were well timed and in the right frequency. My friend and I both thought this would be a great place we'd enjoy bringing friends visiting the area to showcase the great local eateries in Denver. And soon they're building a rooftop area to boost! Also sounds like they have fun nighttime activities to attract locals, too. Maybe one night when I'm not going to bed early i'll go check out their movie nights or trivia nights, etc.

It's a nice place, but the food we had was only so-so. I was here for brunch and ordered an egg white version of the Philly omelette. The insides were flavorless, and the egg whites were incredibly rubbery and undercooked. The side of fresh fruit was tiny... just a couple bites of pineapple and one split strawberry. The bottomless bloody mary's is a nice touch touch, especially if you want a Sunday afternoon hangover.

My coworkers love this place, so I had to at least try it . But I was not impressed with my food. I had the turkey sandwich and the bread may have been old or over toasted because it was rather crunchy. The fries were a similar story. I opted for the Parmesan/truffle fries because when done right they are to die for. Unfortunately mine had been over-fried and we're too crunchy. The cheese wasn't melted and they overcompensated for the "crispness" with too much truffle oil. Now I'm not one to complain to the staff unless I find a hair or the food is completely inedible. With that being said, I are half of my sandwich and will give them a second try, but will probably stay away from anything with bread.

Been to The District a few times recently but this was my first time ordering food. The atmosphere and cocktails are spot on for the area, but as I said I already knew that. I had the buffalo wings which were cooked well, not overdone at all, and the sauce was pleasantly spicy and sweet. Then I moved onto the smoked turkey and avocado sandwich, the turkey was delicious and the addition of bacon was definitely a great decision. With a side of the mexi-fries and a couple margaritas I can happily say this was a delicious meal with great service!

I was there 2-6-2015 for the first time. All of our food was very good. Flavor and presentation. Our sever Justin was very attentive and provides us with great service. I got home 2 days later and realized I calculated the check wrong with a addition error. I called Kerry and he phoned me back to say it had been corrected. They caught my error the night I was there. Great customer satisfaction and service in my opinion. When I am in Denver again I will for sure eat here. Thanks for doing a great job.

The food was ok. Restaurant week is a great deal for sure. However it's obvious the food was mad for efficiency and not 100% quality. Our server was very nice but had a HUGE section that her manager ran half of it (not her fault). We'll probably go back for brunch but it wasn't amazing.

I've been three times now since this restaurant opened. It is a nice addition to the neighborhood. On our first visit, we had the District Chef salad (amazing) and the fish tacos (good). On the second visit, we had the grilled cheese (awful). I appreciate the attempt at creative prep but the Brie like cheese was runny - not a good sandwich. Hoping that they are still working out the kinks on some of the dishes. Also found it odd how many drinks the bar 'was out of'. Seems like they have a bar inventory problem. Again, we liked the atmosphere and the menu. The service on both visits was top notch.

Well after giving this place 2 chances I will never go back. I had 6 people in my party and grabbed a table outside. We waited over 10 min for water and menus. The waitress brought over 5 waters and 3 menus. After painfully waiting for drinks food and even silver wear by the time the food arrived it had been almost 45 min. The food came out half cold and wrong. The omelet was incredibly bland and my side of crispy bacon was basically undercooked bacon bits swimming in grease. I had to go to the bar twice to refill my water and literally chase down the waitress for the bill. Probably the worst brunch experience I've ever had! If you would like to watch a bunch of waitresses stumbling around mouth breathing on food clueless as to where it belongs and have a longing for flavorless over priced food give this place a shot.

Like others I was excited to try this place after driving by multiple times and seeing the cute patio. Unfortunately, we probably won't be back. I ordered a specialty cocktail because I was intrigued that it came with blue cheese. The waiter brought it out to me without the blue cheese notifying me they were out of it (on a Saturday night)...Which also defeated the purpose of me ordering it... I was very disappointed. The wings weren't good, kind of cold. We ordered a mix of BBQ and buffalo and couldn't even tell which ones were which. One of them, the BBQ maybe, tasted like ketchup. Food was slow to arrive and was just okay. Their menu has an overwhelming amount of options. I would slim it down and master those items.

The food for brunch is quite good, but the best is the mimosa and bloody mary bar. Also, nice outdoor seating area which allows dogs. They are very kind to pooches and will give your dog some water. Their salads are fresh and tasty, especially good is the beet salad. They also have a really nice happy hour food selection.

Just opened on July 15th at 5PM. My companion and I walked in expecting nothing superb and were pleasantly surprised. They have 29 beer taps plus full bar the bar mixes an honest drink until 2AM. I have eaten dinner, breakfast and afternoon appetizers there and lately happy hour.. All have had excellent mix of flavors. The meals for two generally total with tip $40.00. The menu has a very eclectic style with hint of Mediterranean. They have nice offerings of meat for a grumpy old tyrannosaurus Rex along with excellent vegetable dishes when transform into a rabbit. My companion loves seafood to which my body has allergic reaction but there are adequate choice Monk Fish, Maui Maui. The Happy Hour fish tacos are very good fried or grilled at $2 each. The breakfast menu competes well in price and quality with other local breakfasts in same neighborhood. Coffee two menu items and one beer with tip was $37.00. We already have plans for this weekend for Brunch starting at 8AM. Dinner is offered starting at 5PM, bar opens around 3PM with daily menu. This is not a mcdonalds preparation can take 30 minutes or more, the house made Lamb and duck bacon is fabulous. The cheeses used here have all be exceptional and unique. The Squash fritters are wonderful as was the Grilled Cheese sandwich. Tried their hamburger it was fabulous, hand shaped paddy tasted of grill also.It seems this is enough for now. Over two weeks and 5 visits the total experience has been superb each visit. This is place with very eclectic menu that you can take special person to knowing they will enjoy. Each time we visit find pleasant surprises as the hamburger or Turkey Avocado sandwich. One warning is 17th Ave seems to get excessive parking police attention Overall this is worth your time kitchen open late till 2AM with bar service.

The District's menu was very promising but overall it was disappointing. Our waitress was kind and efficient however, she had no wine knowledge at all. She filled our wine glasses to the brim which reflected her lack of experience serving wine. We ordered moscow mules that were so tart that we send them back so that more ginger beer could be added. It was still terrible. My food came out cold and the rice was still soggy and not cooked thoroughly. My friend ordered a burger and fries but the fries did not come out until our bill was given to us. The mussels are nothing special, quite bitter and no bread was served along with it. My other friends ordered the BBBLT which was supposed to contain duck, lamb and pork bacon. There were two tiny strips on the sandwich. It looked great but they were totally skimped on their in-house smoked meats. Finally, the Kracken dessert which was a chocolate mouse over a chocolate shortbread cookie was served in large bowl that looked like slop. The mousse was good but the shortbread was thoroughly burned. They are a new restaurant that needs a lot of improvement. I hope they can improve their food. The atmosphere is really nice with great big open windows. There are also tvs around so the identity of the restaurant was confusing, it was like a hodge podge of a sports bar and contemporary fine dining. This restaurant is just another cookie cutter restaurant that you find scattered through Denver. Nothing original. I'd return after a few years once they improve and I hope they do!
