Delicious Thai iced tea! I tried the mild Drunken Noodle, and it is phenomenal. We tried the steamed pork dumplings as an appetizer as well, and they were also worth ordering again. My husband normally enjoys very spicy foods, and he ordered the Pad Thai in "hot". I tried this dish, and it was way to spicy for me. My husband said he wouldn't order it that hot again. Friendly staff, somewhat slow and difficult communication, but definitely worth the wonderful food. The atmosphere is quaint & low-lit in a great location on Tennyson St. in walking distance of a lot of shops! Disclaimer: when they say hot, they mean hot!

I had an interesting experience today for lunch. It started off normal and the waitress was friendly. We ordered our food and had a pretty good time. Until........The bill came out and the waitress gave us the wrong bill. After that she gave us a new bill but overcharged us. She automatically added an 18% gratuity on the bill and we had a small group of 4. When one of us went to talk to her about it, she basically indirectly told us that another employee had accused one of us of not tipping during the past couple of visits. She even said that they have talked to us before about not tipping. BUT THAT WAS A LIE. It is rude to first add gratuity to everyone's bill when you think it's only one person who did not tip. But it is also rude to lie and say that they talked to us before about not tipping when they did not. It was one of the worse experiences at a restaurant and I am not going back. By the end of my time there I still tipped them but felt they did not deserve it after they ruined my day. THANKS FOR RUINING MY DAY. I hope you are nicer to other customers and don't ACCUSE others for things they did not do!

Swing Thai is right around the corner from the Oriental Theatre so it makes for a convenient choice when waiting for a show to begin or grabbing a bite after. The menu is very limited so you won't find many of your favorite Thai dishes, but you will probably leave satisfied. The servers are nice and the decor is well suited for a Thai restaurant, but I've had better.

I loved their spicy pad Thai. The atmosphere was also beautiful. For the price, they gave a decent amount of food. The thai iced coffee was a little too sweet for my liking, but I really enjoyed the food. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

It was the last day to use my LivingSocial voucher, and they must have been redeeming those all day long because as soon as the order was placed, the girl who looked to be in charge asked if I had the voucher. The house was half full, some people sat out on the little patio. I thought the interior décor was very cultural-oriented. We were first served the Tom Yum (I asked for shrimp), mind you, MILD = NO HEAT AT ALL in Swing Thai. Which is too bad because the delicious soup would be a lot better with a bit of heat, just a little, I'm sure I'd be able to hack it. Pad Thai with chicken was the same deal, asked for mild and couldn't detect any spiciness. It's a very saucy dish. I still prefer Pad Thai at Tommy's Thai restaurant because you can have a combo of chicken and shrimp, and their sauce is more subtle. Here in Swing Thai, the noodles looked to be drenched in tomato sauce! Vegetable fried rice was OK, I asked for half tofu and half veggie, got all veggie, and they were all very slightly cooked. The onions still tasted raw and the large pieces of bell peppers were hard to chew apart because it still had thick skin as a result of undercooking. The food here has a good taste profile but I wouldn't be surprised if MSG was used because I had to drink water all night long. Which isn't to say I mind it too much. As long as I go in expecting that, I'm fine. Service was quick, they pretty much just left us there eating by ourselves. The restaurant is located on a cute street that seems fairly developed. I with them the best!

Swing Thai is our go-to Thai food restaurant. It's not the best but they are consistent. Service has always been good, it's always clean and I appreciate the decor. We typically order carry-out and eat at home but we have ate at the restaurant several times and it's never been super busy even at peak hours. For now Swing Thai is the safe bet when craving pad thai. We've tried others in the Highlands and after getting violently sick a couple times from one place that shall remain unnamed, it's just better to stick with what we know.

Never see this place busy, but the food is consistently good. Really good Tom Kha Gai, Pad Thai, Pad see ew. Not an exciting atmosphere, we usually order 'To Go'

I've been here probably 5 times in the past year and have never had a bad meal. In fact, the food is quite tasty and I guess this is the place I will measure all of my Thai experiences against, moving forward. It's never too crowded, which makes it great to get in and out of at lunch. The Spicy Drunken Noodles are great!

I just ordered the green curry and received a rather bland and small serving of soup. Not a thick soup consistency, a thin broth with very few vegetables and three miniscule pieces of chicken. One star for prompt delivery even though the delivery guy had a man bun.

I've eaten here 10, maybe 20 times since I moved back to Denver two years ago. I go here because the location is so convenient - a few blocks from my house. The best word I can come up with is "inconsistent." I've had terrible service - waited and waited and waited to get served, then waited and waited and waited for the food to get there. Same for the check at the end. Last night we waited 20 minutes after finishing our meal, trying the get the server's attention. We got up and started walking out. They noticed us then, heh heh... All of a sudden, we got our check - imagine that! I've also had very good service. What's bizarre is, if you get one of the young men as your waiter, they're pleasant, prompt and on it. If you happen to get one of the young women, they're rude and kurt and slow. Strange.... I've never been disappointed with the food, with one exception. Noodles, curry, soup dishes are done very well - excellent Thai spices and sauces. My girlfriend's a vegetarian, no issues. Not sure about vegan fare. So the food's very good. I wouldn't say excellent, but very good. Don't get the barbecued chicken though - dry, not flavored well. If you go, be prepared to gamble on the service, and don't be surprised if you get some rude curt treatment. You'll like the food. Best bet: Get take out.

Hubs and I ordered take out tonight and were blown away by the spiceyness of both dishes. Don't get me wrong - we like it hot. But this was beyond! I can't even. Started with tofu spring rolls because they were out of pork dumplings (weird for a Thursday night at 6:30). They were just okay BUT ended up being the only saving grace to our meal - hubs even said to me "Please tell me we have more spring rolls" once he was defeated by heat Entrees - jungle curry with shrimp (sidenote this is listed as hot on the menu but I did not ask for extra hot or any alterations to the dish) there are literally no words to describe how hot this dish was besides we could not take more than two bites between us and hubs eyes were watering. Legitimately caused a stomach ache and prompted a call to the restaurant to ask "did we do something wrong to deserve this?!?" - swing special with chicken - also very hot but we were able to fight thru it after trying the curry. Nothing remarkable: few pieces of chicken with a scattering of veggies that are drenched in sauce I just can't get passed this and want to warn others that might have more sensitive pallets than we do - not to mention the portion was small so don't expect leftovers (even if you can get past the hell burning mouth you will be left with). It is so disappointing but the empty dining room probably does the best reflection of the food, portions, service and crazy crazy level of heat in the dishes.

Thai food always makes me nervous. It looks like Chinese food but doesn't always taste like it, so my taste buds end up confused. No such bad experience here. The tasteful combination of trendy and traditional decor created a warm and welcoming environment. The waitress was nice, but not overly friendly. The selection was varied and the prices reasonable. I ordered the pad thai (medium), and really enjoyed the flavor. A little too much meat for my taste, but just the right amount of bean sprouts and sauce. I also took a bite (or two or three!) of my husband's vegetable stir-fry, which featured the BEST garlic sauce I've ever had (seriously--so good!). I was also pleased the the lunch portions were generous. We each had enough food leftover to make another meal. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

Decided to give it a try since we were in the neighborhood. Sub par service. No one was in the restaurant at 5pm on a Saturday which is never a good sign. People started to trickle in about 20 minutes later. The female server was not overtly friendly. The drunken noodles were okay. The chicken was dry. I wanted a singha and they were out which is a Thai beer. My date had pineapple shrimp fried rice which tasted awful. Not going back and don't recommend. Compared to my fave place on south federal this gets a generous 2 stars. Not all Thai is created equal.

ABSOLUTELY WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! My friends and I ordered three plates for pick up, one of which was the drunken noodles. She asked for no basil and peas and asked to add chicken. We went to pick up and paid all together on one card. Upon returning to our house (which is not close to tennyson) we saw that we had not been given any soy sauce, napkins or utensils. My friend who ordered the drunken noodles with chicken did not get any chicken in her meal even though we were charged for it on the receipt. We promptly called to see if we could get refunded for only her meal, seeing as that we had already driven far and did not want to drive back for a fresh one. The man who answered the phone would not refund us and told us that he would comp us for the next time we come in. We did not take him up on that offer and asked to speak to the manager. He told us that the manager was not in and that the only way he would refund us is if we took a picture of the meal to prove there was no chicken and then text it to him so he could show his manager. I asked how i would know if he would actually show his manager for me refund, and that by doing that he had every opportunity to screw me over. His Response? He told me to "FUCK OFF". Working in the restaurant business myself, no matter how frustrated a customer might make me, I would never say anything like that unless I WANTED to get fired. Will absolutely never go back to any swing thai location. WORST PLACE EVER

Just had my first experience with the Jungle Curry. As Yelp tells me with the Star configuration I am indeed a fan. The Curry has lots of vegetables, I had chicken as well. The sauce was a little watery, but that worked out in the end. The spice to the sauce is supposed to be Hot, and I will say, check! There was also a sweetness on the first taste of each bit, then the spice. Great balance. I did not eat it all and ended up with a liquid sauce that was amazingly soaked up by the rice I dropped in there for lunch the next day. I will have to try other entrees, but I am not really sure I want to do that?

I am shocked that I haven't reviewed Swing Thai yet! I have been coming here for years and get the same thing every time. Now this doesn't mean that I haven't done my fair share of sampling off of my dining companions plates. My go-to order here is the chicken satay, shrimp pad thai, and a nice, refreshing thai coffee. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this order. (I am getting hungry just thinking about it). For a chain, Swing Thai delivers great food and great service on a consistent basis. I also really like that they offer gluten and vegetarian options (neither of which I go for, but I can appreciate it for people who do).

My favorite Thai restaurant in Denver! I love the Swing Special -- that sauce is to die for and no other Thai restaurant can come close to this delicious creation. The crab wontons are also tasty and I love their coconut lemongrass soup, too. The staff is always kind + quick. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Mile High City!

You know, I gotta say: Swing Thai is a cool spot to grab a drink, watch passer-bys on Tennyson, and dig into to some tasty food with a kick. The decor is something to be seen as it alludes to the natural, scenic splendor in Thailand and really puts you in the mood to enjoy some authentic eats. The beautiful, expansive prints displaying the the Thai landscape, the quirky bicycle by the front door, the statues of Buddha - it all encompasses that Southeast Asian vibe. I really wish I could speak equally as high about the food and service. Although, I went straight for the most obvious thing on the menu, the Pad Thai, I was underwhelmed. This is not to say it's not tasty. I just like a little more bite to my pad Thai. It's Thai cuisine after all, the mother of all spicy culinary countries. The serice was unfortunately was just as bland as my dish and not too thrilled to be at work that day. We must have caught her on a bad day, which I definitely knows how that goes. Nevertheless, I have good feelings about Swing Thai. I just need to be more daring with my food order!

Food was decent. Major problem was that the server who took our order definitely was not listening to what we were saying. We hoped for the best, that she would get us what we ordered, and didn't receive our appetizer. We also received a pad thai instead of pad see u. We returned the pad thai and ordered our appetizer when we got our dinner. Overall, was not impressed and will not be going back.

This is the best of the Swing Thai locations in Denver. The food is great and ready fast if you take out. They also have an excellent drink menu! Service is a bit slow if you dine in, but it is worth it. I highly recommend eating on the back patio. It is quiet and really peaceful.

I sat at the "hostess" area for 10 mins waiting to be seated, I finally stopped someone and asked for a table, she looked at me like I was stupid and pointed to a table across the room and told me to sit there. I then got to wait for my server for another 7 mins. In the servers defense, she seems to be the only server and is also bar-tending. I proceeded to order an appetizer, but out of all of their appetizer selections they only had 1 left. The food is good but I think I'll go elsewhere next time, especially with Thai Basil a few blocks away.

Great Pad Thai. Nice place to enjoy a snack or a meal and a drink and watch Tennyson. We've eaten at other Swing Thai and they're all good. Staff was really nice. We were the first to sit on the patio that day so service was a little weird. but otherwise great time.

I found parking. On Tennyson. At 12:30 in the afternoon. So already you know something is wrong. I walked in to the restaurant: I was greeting by a friendly if not somewhat desperate-sounding hostess. "To go?" Um, no. "Table for one please." There was ONE PERSON in the entire restaurant. Did I mention it was 12:30 in the afternoon? It's decorated nicely enough and seems clean enough, but I was seated at a sticky table, right next to the only other person in the restaurant. An unfriendly server approached right away. I ordered the Peanut Curry with Coconut Milk and Chicken over a bed of spinach. She asked how hot I wanted it. I said, "American hot, not Thai hot," but she cut me off and said curtly, "Mild, Medium, or Hot." I said, "Medium." I also ordered the Fresh Spring Roll with Chicken as an appetizer. The appetizer arrived promptly. It is one roll, but it is hugely fat and then cut in half, and a bit difficult to eat. There was almost no basil in it at all, which was a disappointment. They were short on flavor. The ends of the roll were tough and unedible, as though they had not been cooked long enough. The dipping sauce was delicious. When she took my plate away, she did not ask me if I enjoyed the dish. The Peanut Curry with Coconut Milk and Chicken arrived and looked yummy. The sauce was divine, but a little hotter than "medium"--and I really like hot spicy food. The spinach tasted funny (frozen?) and two pieces of the chicken tasted bad, as in OLD. I actually had to spit them out of my mouth and into a napkin. The first one I thought might be a fluke, but after the second one, I quit eating it. The rice is served on the side and it was good. About the time I was spitting out the first bad piece of chicken, I heard someone in the kitchen sneeze. Of course, that's never good. I placed my credit card at the end of the table, and the bill came promptly and was returned promptly. No one asked why I didn't finish all my food, nor did they ask if I wanted to take it home. I paid my bill, and as I was leaving the restaurant, I heard someone blow a huge ball of snot out their nose. I looked into the kitchen, and it was one of the cooks! No gloves. Blowing his nose right there over the food prep surface. I won't be back.

Service was AWFUL!!!! We walked in, and it took about 10 minutes for the server to even acknowledge us. Once she did, she said it would be a VERY long wait for food since they have too many liviing socials there although the place wasn't even full. We decide to seat ourselves on the patio and wait. After another 10 minutes of not being acknowledged, we decided to walk up to the take-out window and order drinks and our meals. The same server again came up to me as if she didn't remember me and told me again "it will be a very long wait for food". We put our order in at the window anyways and went back to our table. In the time of waiting for our food, she had turned multiple people coming in away because they were "too busy". Talk about awful!!!

I was excited to see a Thai place on Tennyson but was less excited when I saw it was Swing Thai. I've been to a few locations around town and they are consistently average. None the less, if I'm in the mood for Thai food they do the trick. I do like the ambiance of the restaurant, it feels very much what a Thai restaurant should feel like in my head. The service is quick and the staff is friendly ... so that's a plus.

The service was horrible and the food was worse! We went on a Monday night and there were only about 4 tables full. The hostess and waitress acted annoyed we were there and in a big hurry. The food had poor flavor (it was not even spicy even though I asked for medium which is spicier than normal). The curry was liquidity and there was minimal sauce, the vegetables were not cooked and the flavor was mediocre at best!! I brought an out if town guest and was embarrassed. I had to go inside and request someone come fill our water glasses half way through the meal as they seemed more interested in cashing out for the night than waiting on us. I will not recommend this place. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED! I have eaten at he one in Colfax, which is consistently average to good, however this location was sub-par.

Swing Thai is the only Thai I've had in Denver - it's solid, the service is generally good, and both their takeout and dine-in are good. No complaints - but don't be surprised when it's mostly empty, even at lunch.

  • Kirsten L.

The food is pretty good. The location is convenient, but the takeout/delivery is why we usually choose to eat here. I think they advertise not using MSG, which gets bonus points in my book. I'm not a huge fan of the pad Thai but my husband loves it. The spice has some kick to it!

My new favorite Thai food even though it isn't that close to me! My person and I were in and around Denver this weekend and he tok me here saying it was his favorite thai food. No kidding, we'll be back even though it requires a bit of a hike. Service is extremely attentive, and I love the atmosphere of the place. It is small but without feeling crowded, and beautiful without feeling too-fancy-to-relax, if that makes sense. there are a lot of nice accents and cozy touches. We were HUNGRY so we ordered pretty much right away and I was surprised on a busy weekend evening how fast our food came. Given how nice the decor and service was, I was double-surprised at how low the prices were. What really won me over was how friendly they were to a hungry honkey like me who wanted Pad Thai, but needed to have a couple of ingredients removed. My Pad Thai was delish, my person's curry was good, and their Thai Iced Tea is the best I've had. I heart this place thoroughly and look forward to coming back to try more of their menu.

I don't recommend the red curry. Good flavor but way too heavy, very little veggies and the shrimp tasted fishy. Made right this dish is delicious but right now feel like I'm going to hurl. Two things I haven't been able to find in this town decent red curry or crispy chicken chimichanga.

This place may not be the greatest place in the world of Thai places, but it is certainly good and very delicious. Moreover, they are vegan and gluten free friendly, and given that I'm a 20 year vegetarian, and recently was put on a trial gluten free diet, this was incredibly helpful. My vegan friend got the green curry, and I started with the vegan (I know!) tom kha soup with tofu, which was bloody delicious (though I wish there had been more veggies -- it was pretty much tofu, mushrooms and broth), followed by the panang curry with tofu. Both curries were good, although their version of mild and my version of mild seemed a little different. However, there was a good amount of food, they have brown rice as an option (for .50 more), and the service was good, with constant refills on our drinks and water. I'll be back for sure, to try another gluten free vegetarian option, and hopefully, also the Mango sticky rice. Plus, the neighborhood is cute, and super walkable; would be a great evening or weekend date place.

The best pad Thai EVER! Although I'm a big fan of their most famous dish, the reason I don't come often is because the service is horrible. Also, during cold weather, they refuse to turn on the heat so customers are freezing while trying to enjoy their meal. Last time, I forced my meal down so quickly because I couldn't stand the freezing temperature. Togo is definitely the way to go!

This Swing Thai location is a good option for a quick, yummy meal along Tennyson St. I also think their quality has improved recently as our last three meals there have been very good (Pad Thai, Swing Special, and the Pad See U). We have also received decent service on every visit. They also have a nice quiet patio in the back during warmer weather.

It pains me to give this place only 3 stars. The food is wonderful. Best coconut lemongrass soup ever! Get it as a noodle bowl and it makes a mouth-watering meal. However, the service has become so very bad that we were barely noticed this past Sunday. And we were the only people in the dining room! Another family of 5 was on the back patio. We watched table after table of people seated get up and leave after waiting 10 minutes with no water or service. All the while we waited anxiously for our food since we sat with a hungry toddler. Ridiculous! My husband said it best...if you can't swing it, do take-out only! Seriously people. Poor form.

Took some friends over to Swing Thai's Colorado Blvd. location (after checking out Trader Joe's, across the street). I've gotta say, I'm always impressed by the courtesy and the great service I get when I dine there. The Pad Thai is still my favorite.

Ocassionally they mess up my togo or delivery order, but the food quality and taste seems to have improved recently, prompting me to do a review! Two of my favorites are the swing special and the curry (any, but usually green). The pad thai is also very good. I also enjoy the fried veggie rolls a little too much. Bonus! They deliver a thai iced tea to your door.
