I really like the vibe of the crowd and the design of the place. The beers are good, but the service is a little bro-ish and off-putting. There is room for improvement, but off to a good start. The soft lighting and variety of seating make for a comfy feeling. I recently enjoyed a mango wheat and a Japanese lager. They also had a tropical IPA and under IBUs listed 'tropical'. Turns out it was more hoppy than tropical in my opinion, but my homeboy Tom really liked it. They also don't have beer lists anywhere except for their chalk board. When asked about this, the beertender said that they couldn't keep up with their changes. That is a weak excuse as I know many breweries with a lot more beers that seem to manage lists that incorporate daily updates. The layout of the space doesn't provide a view to the beer list from all areas, so I think they could greatly improve the experience by adding a few lists to reference. We went there for team trivia and although it was a great time, the prizes were the smallest I've ever seen ($20 for first place, $15 for second & $10 for third). I understand it is hard to make a buck as a new business, but that wouldn't get a round of drinks for a team if you got first place! They do have an AHA discount, so that is nice. They have some popcorn and canned big brand sodas too. I feel like they are super close to having everything jive, but need friendlier service and some feminine energy. They were snatching glasses prior to the end of trivia even though there was still beer in them. I totally understand they wanted to get us out of there, but the same guy tried to grab my friend's beer a couple of times despite her telling them she wasn't finished. When you're spending $5+ a beer, every drop is valuable. Also, in neither experience did the servers come to the tables. Other reviews state this occurs, but I haven't seen it. I will likely give them another shot, but was kinda disappointed in my recent experience. The first time I went, we sat at the bar and had a full sampler. It was good enough to return, but there was no back and forth with the staff. In the modern brewery world we have high standards, and a good chat about the beers or conversation at all is what separates the average from the amazing.

Great beer, fun games and trivia! The only downside is that sometimes it's too full in the back. We liked that they have food trucks outside most nights. Many of the beers tend to be a little too sweet for our taste, but the astronaut amber is my favorite.
(4)Brian E.
I won't go back here. There's just too many breweries in Denver and this one failed to meet the mark. -Beers were $6.50 -Beers were not that good -Music was terrible (who the fuck likes 3 Doors Down?) -Barking dogs everywhere -Yuppies everywhere Pass

All Platte Park residents, rejoice! A brewery was pretty much all South Pearl needed to make it practically perfect. Sure, parking is still a nuisance, but for those who can easily bike, scoot, or walk over - this is a wonderful convenience. After a day of hiking, we decided it was time for a cold one, but we couldn't just stop by any old brewery. We had to find one with a patio, or at least welcomed furry companions. After built up anticipation and the permission of doggies - it was no question where we were headed. Some of the perks that really captured my fancy was the service. Servers come to you. No need for awkwardly standing by the bar for the bartender to notice you. The other plus was the space. It's open and breezy floor plan that spills outside to the patio facing South Pearl creates a perfect spot for any sort of rendezvous. Meeting a group of friends? Just drinking alone? Young parents who need a place to take the edge off without the judgment of bringing a baby to a brewery? Or perhaps - like myself - you're drinking with your significant other to wind down after a sweaty trek up a mountain? It's all there for you. Though there is no food menu available, I happen to catch and glimpse (and sniff) of the delicious burgers from the nearby Park Burger. It seemed like the perfect combo for sunny, Summer, Sunday afternoon. In regards to the beer, the stout and amber were probably my favorite. There wasn't one particular beer that left my taste buds tingling, but I was happy to try every sample on the flight. The IPA was certainly hoppy and the lager was a soft brew and easy to drink. All in all, they've got a good thing going on at Denver Pearl Brewery.
(4)Dave T.
Great location and atmosphere. Almost the whole front is open to the street. The beers and beer creativity is pretty good. I can isolate one as I had the flight and probably forgot which was which. They have a plethora of board games to keep you entertained. Also Tuesday Trivia, which compliments to them is not the typical Geeks who Drink. DT
(4)Steve S.
This is a cool little place, catered for those of us who like beer and find Park Burgers selection to be just not enough beer. However, I'm not sure I get the point of a place without food. Sure, it's a great tasting beer (the Vienna Lager was awesome), but after that it's just more liquid. Yes, you can bring in your own food, but what is the point of that? Especially if you bring food from Park Burger (which I hilariously saw). Thus, Platt Park Brewing Company sits in an odd area. It's great for beer, but it lacks anything else. Bring your dog and your favorite board game and friends to spice it up a bit, but ultimately you'll be seeking food within the hour.

Two stars...the beer - everything flatlined with regards to flavor. Nothing really stood out, seems the brewery is playing a quick/safe game. Agree with some of the comments here - the scene is awful and the music keeps that 'touristy' (oh that's a word) tempo. Very crispy, pre-made feel - these guys skipped indy-original for straight to restaurant chain vibe. Sadly, a lot of people dig that, maybe because it feels familiar. I, on the other hand, immediately biked to the nearest dive bar to de-sterilize my mind and palate. Sorry guys, you're not my pint of brew.
(2)Doug Y.
I know this is all for naught since everyone but Yelp seems to know that they've changed their name but let's call this a memo for this slightly beer addled brain of mine. The flight I had here was all pretty solid and the flight was very reasonably priced so Platt Park or Denver Pearl or you can call them Ray or you can them Jay just don't call them late for dinner. oh and btw. I can now wear the cool t-shirt that Dale gave me without the inherent douche-iness of wearing a shirt to a place you've never been. Thanks Dale!

After the Broncos thwarted our plans to hit up a brewery on that side of town, a few friends and I opted to check out Platte Park Brewing Co instead. PPBC is located on the always cool and hip Pearl Street, so they've got a great location locked and loaded. They've also got a pretty fabulous space: tons of tables, plenty of bar space, funky decor, and several board games to keep your party entertained. Sadly, as I've reflected upon my night here, the aforementioned is about all that attracts me. I tried 8 different tasters during my visit and while nothing was bad, nothing was memorable either. (I did enjoy the Black IPA, I must say!) The best word I could think of to describe the overall experience of the beers was pedestrian. Just simply "meh" for me. And this totally guts me because Platte Park has a great space with a cool, relaxed vibe. This is a place I would love to hang out at! But it's not a destination for beers for me, especially with so many amazing breweries in town. Maybe it was an off night? Hard to say. But for now, PPBC is just "meh" when it comes to the product.
(2)Jason J.
Still REALLY frustrated these guys had to change their name under threat of lawsuit, but a rose by any other name would smell as sweet! It's in a great location, their space is pretty unique and original, but still has a great "home" feel to it. I thought the bartenders were super awesome, really chatty, very fun, playing Uno with customers, talking about lots and lots of things... They've got a whole front side that can open to the street, so that's gonna be a great thing in the summer. But the beer, that's what we're all here for, right? I tried a sampler that included such gems as Your Grandma's Pumpkin Pie, Gumps (surprisingly hoppy & delicious) Lager, and Drop It Like It's Hop (I giggled, I'll admit it.) The beers were tremendous. There was not a single beer I tried that I would not get a whole pint of the next time I'm in. I was pleasantly surprised with how crisp and clean their beers felt, even the ones that weren't necessarily supposed to be. Everything felt clean, everything had a complexity that drew you in, but a simplicity that carried the beer without too much fuss. I haven't enjoyed a new brewery experience as much as I enjoyed these guys in a long time. Go in, get a sampler, have a blast.

Ok, so I 'technically' didn't get here when it was called Denver Pearl. They just changed the name to Platt Park Brewing, so I hope this gets populated with the new name when it changes. I went when they had their 'name change' party, and the beer specials were out of this world! Even at full price, it is worth going. Not only do they have terrific beers, great little open patio space out front, and on a great bike route if you want to hit lots of places. Platt Park brewing is located near a great burger place, pizza place, Asian, and shopping. If you want to spend a day out, go here first, walk down Pearl, go over the highway, hit some more spots, and come back to Platt Park. Brilliant addition to our bike rides!
(5)Lindsay A.
This is a nice spot to stop after work for a beer. I worked in the neighborhood for awhile and it was always one of my stops when I was feeling a drink was needed after a long day. I like the selection for the most part, I just wish they had a couple more options! The seating is cool, they have a full bar area, a little bit of a patio area that is directly on Pearl Street(prime people watching) and a bunch of tables in the back area. They also started doing trivia on Tuesday nights at 7. The brewery has a very neighborly feel to it, most of the people you meet there are nice. You can order food and have it delivered from their book of menus, and you can even bring your pup inside!
(4)Travis M.
Great beer, great service, and great location. My favorite is the Gump's Lager. I applaud any brewery that can make an excellent lager, because despite it's appearance, it's a complex beer to brew. Come for a Tuesday trivia night, or come any night to play a selection of board games they've provided. Check it out!
(5)Ron K.
This place didn't stick out as anything new and exciting that would make me want to come back or bring people to. The beers weren't memorable, and this place has TV's which I am not a fan of. I prefer to not have the distraction of a television when I go to a brewery and feel TVs takeaway from the socializing brewery atmosphere. My friends and I roll up on a weeknight and find they're closing an hour early which was in like ten minutes from when we showed up. The servers apologized for the early closing, but gave us kind of a negative attitude for showing up right before they were closing and when we asked for 'a nip' of a beer to taste (rather than pay for a taster). The beer was 'meh' at best and I really disliked the distraction of TV.
(2)Reed K.
Great spot. Local neighborhood brewery with really awesome options as far as beers are concerned. I've been a couple times, but this last time I took my girlfriend who is really picky about beers she likes (there aren't many). We did the taster flights and she was very pleased with several, and as usual I loved all of them. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is great. They don't serve food, but Park Burger is right across the street and you can bring it back in with you.
(5)Carolyn P.
The beer is great and the space is fun. I love that you can see into the brewing room but still have plenty of seating for a big group. They have a few TVs and a selection of board games to play while you enjoy some tasty beer! My favorite beer was the Weiss but will come back to try some more!
(4)Dustin G.
Colby an I go way back, back before the shop was open, back when it was the Denver pearl brewing co... I gave him a resume, didn't get the job, but we are still friends, I try to make it over whenever I can, I wanted to have PPBC's beer at my restaurant, sadly it didn't work out, but PPBC's brews are my favorite, I don't even have to order, I walk in, sit down, and I have a "drop it like its hop" in front of me. so if you want really great service, great beer and an awesome atmosphere, come to platt park brewing co, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Kelly L.
We biked here from the Platt River trail and it was a great choice! The beers are solid, especially Gump's Vienna Lager and the Mick Lovin Irish Red. There were a couple IPAs that were pretty good too (just not my favorite style of beer). I love Dunkels and, unfortunately, did not enjoy theirs very much. We loved the atmosphere and the neighborhood. It was a pretty cool Denver hangout. The late 90's/early 2000's music was a nice "throwback" also!
(4)Elizabeth Q.
AWESOME! After recently relocating to Denver I was eager to dive into the craft beer scene, finding Platt Park was the best thing that could have happened! The atmosphere is calm, great for meeting groups of friends and watching some football on Sunday or having a night out. It is also dog friendly and opens up with a great patio, perfect for any occasion. I love the selection of beer they have, no matter what you enjoy there is something for you. My personal favorite is the sour b. I have tried MANY sours and this is BY FAR the best I have had in the Denver area. The staff is friendly and your cup is never left empty. They have board games and trivia, and allow you to bring in food which is great. They focus on their beer and you can tell, I would highly recommend this brewery to anyone who appreciates the care and craft it takes to make good brews!
(5)Chucky B.
Good selection of beers and spacious seating. They don't serve food except for popcorn and chips but they let you bring in food from outside. There's a good burger joint called Park Burger right across the street. They allow dogs in the brewery so if you're not a dog person then I wouldn't recommend this place. I've only been here once and there were 6 or 7.
(4)Kathleen R.
Soft opening = $1 pints. Amazing! "Drop it like it's hop" Rye IPA is tasty, Astronaut Amber is complex but falls. Little flat more like a cask. The Phased Pale Ale is the best thus far; hoppy with a nice citrus flavor. The lights are bright but love the minimalist look. The bar has poured concrete & rad cogs and such. The light fixtures also incorporate the industrial feel. Great patio on pearl too! All in all, great spot with tasty beer. This place is a keeper.
(4)Lyndsay D.
Beer was "okay." The service was awful. I totally get "bar-service-only" but you don't have to be rude about it.
(2)Shelby P.
What a hip, modern, dog-friendly spot to spend a Saturday afternoon. Hubs and I grabbed a tasting platter of beers and sat down for an intense game of Jenga. They had a bunch of games to choose from. The long tables are perfect for a big group hang-out. I'll definitely return for some cold beer, competitive Jenga, and a spot for my dog to chill!
(5)Peter C.
Nice staff and a fine setting for the taproom. But the beers simply don't measure up. They tasted flat and even soapy - not of the same caliber of other breweries in the same neighborhood (Former Future and Declaration, to name two). I hope they can improve their beers because Id love to support a Platt Park neighborhood brewery.
(2)Mike H.
As a resident of Colorado and connoisseur of beer, I have visited many great Denver breweries. But I've never been to one as welcoming or fun-loving as Platt Park. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, the employees are attentive and sociable, and the beer is fantastic!! Whether you're walking the dog and hop in for a quick brew, or playing a 3 hour game of monopoly with your friends, Platt Park is a prime spot to relax and refresh. It has a nice modern-industrial feel, and the occasional live band/dj to spice things up. Plus, unlike some breweries, you can actually hear yourself think in there (which might have something to do with the acoustic foam panels on the ceiling). I have told friends about Platt Park Brewing Company before and will continue to do so in the future. Keep up the great work guys!
(5)David H.
Great beer, great environment. What's more is that their beer is actually normally priced, unlike some other local breweries. They have great food trucks. Overall, a great experience.
(5)Drue A.
I come here sometimes in a particular mood that it seems to feed in a way I like. Its beers are clever but not aggressive. It feels relaxed but not morose, easy feeling in a way yogurt shops address parents and kids. I can't emphasize the importance of music and good beer with only text. Platte Park's music has always made me appreciate the beer and tables and chairs without asking me to overindulge, or if it does then it doesn't let on. It invites the individual to enter on a whim and the small group to begin its night there. The first-stop places are always the best. You have the best conversations at the first stop. The day feels most promising at the first stop. After I leave I feel like making more of myself, or making a friend or texting my brother. This is what Platte Park does. Go on a nice night or when you need new space to think.

I'm not a beer connoisseur, but I AM a connoisseur of great neighborhood finds. Just around the corner from our house, Denver Pearl provides a GREAT option for grabbing a few beers with friends on S. Pearl. *The Beer*: as previously mentioned, I'm not the authority on anything hoppy. My company, on the other hand, is quite the consumer. He tested the entire menu and found a few beers to enjoy. While they likely aren't in contention for "Best Ever," I've seen his tab and I can tell you he still liked drinking them. Lots of them. *The Atmosphere*: Excuse me for shouting, but I LOVE THAT YOU CAN BRING YOUR DOG! This whole neighborhood is full of people who tote their favorite furball along to happy hour, dinner, and maybe brunch. The ability to let your best friend lay at your feet while drinking a beer is unmatched. Also love that you can bring your own food in. i.e. Order carryout from Park Burger across the street and avoid the 2hr wait. Amazing. No problems whatsoever with service. They seem to operate with fewer bartenders, so this can increase the amount of time between visits to your table by your server, but not by an absurd amount by any means. SO here's your game plan: leash up Fluffy, call in your order to Park Burger or Sexy Pizza or whatever else, and head over to Denver Pearl.
(3)Amy J.
Our favorite Denver Brewery. Family friendly and dog friendly. Excellent and varied beer style selections - Tropical Snowdance might be best IPA in Denver.
(5)Ted S.
Just visited the Denver Pearl yesterday. Love having a brewery tap house on Old South Pearl (I'm a couple blocks away). This has the potential of being a great local's place along with a destination brewpub. The space is very nice, slightly industrial and clean. Small al fresco seating is nice and the front opens up so it's airy. The beers are well-executed and I suspect they'll get better with practice. As it is, the amber IPA, lager, wheat, milk stout -- they're all good and balanced well. A few things, however.... I know I'll probably sound cheap, but I'd really love to see a HH pricing on one beer; or a 24/7 bargain beer priced at about $3/pint (regular is $5). A couple patrons next to me said they'd like to stay for more (and being locals on-foot, no DUI worries) but those $5 pints add up quickly. Service? Meh. I get that this place is new. But loosen up, folks. The servers acted like you'd drink 'n dash for the door and mine said quite bluntly, "We're a pay-as-you-go bar." Alternatively, they'll take your CC from the get-go. But as a gesture, why not serve a round or two before discussing $? At least for the folks sitting at the bar. No place I go to -- Renegade, Wynkoop, Breckenridge, Bull & Bush -- does this. They'll pour, you drink, and you ask for the tab before you split. The bartenders don't seem like beer people. The attitude was clinical, antiseptic -- no engagement, no "Hi, welcome to Denver Pearl. This your first time here? What styles do you like?" No attempt at engagement. They weren't that busy...they were clustered behind the bar, chatting among themselves, Just not a friendly vibe. With the World Cup on I felt like I was in a sports bar, not a tap house. We'll see how it pans out. There's plenty of great beer in Denver. What keeps me and others coming back is service, attitude and ambiance. You want to think that they appreciate your business. I hope this place matures and becomes a local's outpost in the neighborhood.
(2)Chopop M.
Beers are pretty good. Got a flight and a couple of them were worth getting in a pint in a future visit. Can't say there are any that warranted filling a growler, or at least none of those that we tried. They had good music, clean atmosphere, and most importantly allowed dogs inside. Roll up doors at front are a bonus for nice days too. Will go back when in that neighborhood but too many other real good breweries around, to go out of way to go here.
(3)Conrad V.
Another great Denver micro-brewery!
(5)Dale Z.
This was our first stop on an impromptu brewery tour on the 4th of July. The main parameter of which was to try some new breweries. I didn't have a great mental picture of where this was located, but once I spotted Park Burger, I had an "oh, yeah" moment. DPBC had a lot of beers to try (and we made a point to sample them all). Everything I tried was rather good, even if not all of them were to my palate preference. I liked the Ash Valley Fruit they were serving. The sweet tropical notes were to my liking on a hot and somewhat muggy day. The Ash Valley Wheat, Astronaut Amber, and Gump's Lager, also fit the bill on a warm afternoon. I also had a small taste of the Bourbon Stout (Milk Stout aged in a bourbon barrel). The vanilla notes were strong and really rounded this out. My favorite taste I had this day was the sour. I like sours so much, that I even enjoy the ones that I don't think are that interesting. This particular sour had lots of pucker factor with some good flavor lurking beneath. The space here is much larger on the inside than one might guess while passing by (4,500 square feet). The service was quite good. I enjoyed chatting with co-owner Colby (this is a father and some business, of which he is the younger). This will be a great place to hang out, and I think it is a welcome addition to this end of Pearl.

We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday night. There was a food truck outside. We tried to go in but a couple with their dog couldn't decide if they were going to go in or not. They carried on their conversation, blocking the door. When we finally got inside a few dogs barked and jumped at each other. That scared me, since I didn't realize this was a dog friendly bar. It wasn't too crowded but we thought maybe we could move to the back where it seemed less "doggy." It was a cool setup with large wooden tables. There were lots of board games on the side shelves. Unfortunately we found a bunch of toddlers running wild. I thought I was at McDonald's playland. Nothing against dogs and babies but the vibe felt chaotic, not relaxing, and we were on a date. The beer is probably great. You can bring in food from other restaurants. If you're a young parent who can't find a babysitter, this is your place. We decided to give our Groupon to our kids. We headed to the Sushi Den.
(3)Gee W.
Lots of great beer, nice setup, good service. OK, the longer version: At the south end of Pearl, this place is just a little ways away from the congestion of Sushi Den et al, but not far at all. Its a good setup with a bunch of hi tops in the front, garage doors to let in the good weather, a decent sized bar, and then some larger tables towards the back. In the very back is the business end of the operation, and you can see where they brew everything. They really have some unique styles of beer and rotate their selection regularly. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful...always offering you a sample if you are on the fence as well. Happy hour is 3-6PM (I'm not sure if it's on the weekends) and it's 20% off regular prices...and their regular prices are very fair. Overall, I like not having to go to some quasi industrial wasteland/ SuperFund site to find a good brewery. Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying I won't, but it's great having a place that has awesome beer in the middle of a neighborhood and close to some actual restaurants. Well done, Platt Park Brewing Co!
(4)Jasper B.
Pretty good beers. I'm an IPA kinda guy, and theirs is decent--currently offered on CO2 or nitro, although I don't usually like IPAs on nitro. Dog friendly place, so lots of dogs sometimes. May smell of dog food at times.
(4)Bobby J.
I'm digging the new name and there beer selection is amazing!! You have to try the platte park porter. They use kaladis coffee and it is AMAZING!!! The atmosphere is cool too and of course right across from park burger. It's now my local brewery.
(5)Johnny U.
New name. "Platt Park Brewing Co" Seems Pabst had a small defunct beer that had the name "Pearl" in the title. Big lawyers......lots of cash......you get the picture. Regardless of name, this little brewery puts out some pretty good suds. I've seen the menu change. One of my favorites from a week ago is a "Kaladis" coffee Porter. I'm in love. Beer mixed with hands down the best coffee in town!! Nothing like being wide awake and buzzed! Garage doors open to Old South Pearl St. Watch the world go by. If you're hungry, Park Burger is just across the street. They allow you to bring in outside food. It's dog friendly, and the staff is people friendly. Nice pace to hang out.
(4)Leslie H.
Ordered a paddle of beers which included a lager, pale ale, something really hoppy, one made with rice, an amber, an IPA and a banana flavored beer. Liked them all except the banana option. Neat place to hang out, games on hand to keep you entertained. Okay to bring in food.
(4)J R.
Good buzz in the place, still I did not care for the vibe though. Also the service was not my favorite. Mainly due to the particular bartender that was serving us, he was pushy and not the most attentive. The place is a tiny bit more expensive compared to some of the other places around. All with all a decent place. I could visit again but given that there are many nicer alternatives around I would recommend them instead.
(3)Daniel M.
This is the place for tepid, undercarbonated, flavorless beer! Awesome location, decent facility, now they just need to find a brewer who knows what they're doing. The good reviews seem to focus more on the location and the space rather than the beer. Really a damn shame.
(1)Sean M.
Great addition to the neighborhood. Fantastic atmosphere to play a board game, watch some football. My only complaint is the beer never being cold enough. Not sure if it's on purpose, but I never want to have more than 1 beer here when it's room temperature.
(4)Sarah S.
PLATT PARK is an up and coming brewery in the Platt Park Neighborhood. Being new to Denver and checking out lots of brew spots, this is definitely one of my favorites. Try the Platt Park Porter and the Sour Berliner, they are delicious!!!
(5)Emily G.
Awesome new place. Chill. Fun atmosphere without being crowded or prey regions. Delicious beers. Board games to play.
(5)John C.
Great atmosphere and good service. Went there last night on a date. We tasted several different beers and chose the Nitro stout and the wheat beer. Those were the best in a bad lot. There was nothing about their beer that stood out. Since this place is new, hopefully they'll develop some tasty beers to serve.
(3)Max M.
I couldn't have asked for a better neighborhood brewery. The people are friendly and answered all if my questions and it's great that they are dog-friendly. Who doesn't love dogs, right? Plus, you can't beat the food and coffee on the area. In fact, get some coffee, go to park burger, then end the night with 3-10 beers at DPBC. Then get a cab.
(5)Sara H.
I like the convenience of this place a lot. I can literally walk about 300 yards and be there. None of the beer jumps out at me though, all the regular stuff that the rest of the 18,000 breweries in Denver have without tons if flavor to make this place stick out to me. I will still visit though and continue to give it a shot since it is so close.
(3)michele b.
The beers we tried were fine. The hops they use are a little too floral for my liking, but i suppose they were fine for summertime. The service was sketchy ... our server disappeared for long periods of time, and we often had to wave to get her attention while she watched the TV behind the bar. She also didn't really know anything about the beer (maybe she wasn't old enough to drink??). And my friend was quite steamed when the server said there was no milk stout (despite it being listed on the chalkboard), and then, after my friend ordered the wheat beer, a milk stout was served to another customer by another server. When we asked the server about that, she said "oh, they must've just tapped that." When my friend ordered the milk stout (which she says was quite yummy), the server made no offer to comp the half-full wheat beer that my friend no longer wanted. Service is not quite ready for prime time! They don't serve food, but you can order takeout from some neighboring restaurants. The patio bar is too skinny to really hold anything more than a glass of beer though (so it's tough to eat food on the outside bar). I like the open-door policy with respect to dogs, although i would never take the beagle (pictured) anyplace where food or drink is served (she's a thief!). So, despite the service hiccups, we were enjoying our visit. And then the smokers showed up. The smokers congregate in front of the brewpub because all of the neighboring businesses have posted no-smoking signs near their doors and windows (i don't blame them!). So, when the brewpub's big garage windows are open (which is most of the time), all the smoke blows into the brewpub. Of course, once inside, the smoke has nowhere to go and it stinks. We left after one beer because we just couldn't hack the smoke. We'd rather frequent places that are TRULY non-smoking.
(2)James V.
Always friendly and willing to give you a taste of their latest brew. The beer has become progressively better and they have dialed in a few that are extremely tasty. They are always experimenting with new hops, delivery methods and beer types. A great environment and brewery with ownership that gets it.
(5)Michelle S.
I enjoyed the Fruit Wheat while my husband got a taster paddle to try a wider selection. The bar inside is nice with the garage door decor and the outside patio (long skinny table with stools) is nice if you like drinking a beer and people watching. I was even able to watch the Rockies game on one of their two TV's. It was all good until 3 patrons decided to bring their large dogs into the bar. After barking to contend with, patrons and the server having to watch where they walked to avoid stepping on them and my allergies kicking in due to all 3 dogs in a small area, it was time to leave. Not sure I'll be back if that's the norm.

Great beer, good people....good selection/prices...worth stopping for a quick brew or an all night event.

Platt Park is a really solid taproom that is relaxed but also kind of trendy, verging on the edge of metal modern without being that harsh of an environment. Very comfortable. Makes the dorks like me feel like we're hanging with the cool kids for once. The front of the building opens up garage door style so that you can have that lovely sitting outside while sitting inside feeling. There are some tables up front and also a large room in the back with additional tables. There are lots of board games for kids and families, or adults who like to play games. The place definitely struck me as really family friendly. Dog friendly, too. Bonus points due to proximity to good food. So while there is no food except popcorn served at the taproom itself, there are lots of good food options nearby within an easy easy walk, and they don't care if you bring food in. In fact, there's a binder behind the bar with menus if you get the munchies. As for the beer, we thought it was pretty solid. Like most breweries, there were some hits and misses but even the misses were probably more just not up our alley and not bad beer. I ordered the mango wheat, which was exactly what it sounds like. Very pleasant, very mango, very wheat. I would say it's quite crisp and refreshing but it was a good taste. Would I have ordered a second one? Probably not -- too mango to have two. We had several people who got flights, which is probably a good way to go here since there is so much variety. Everything I tasted was great. I was blown away by the cream ale, which tasted practically identical to a good old school cream soda. Much more "cream ale-ish" than most cream ales. I will also say that the service struck me as great. My husband and friends did the ordering, so I never went up to the bar. But while we were there, a man at the table next to us spilled his almost-full beer. He was there with his wife and kid, and they were clearly just enjoying a nice family afternoon. The bar tender not only produced a rag lickety split and came over to help them clean up the mess but immediately replaced the man's beer no charge. Class act. A perfectly lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Love this place. They offer great Groupon and Living Social deals. Cool space with a bunch of games ready to be played! We chose "cards against humanity", grabbed a few strangers and made new friends. The flights are yummy! Don't forget to get your jug filled to take home!

Oh, just your local neighborhood brewery with awesome vibes and pretty great beer. This is why I love it so and wish I lived closer to it. It's such a great space. Games and big tables are in the back, with a big window for viewing the brew equipment. In the front, there are high tops and a couple of TVs, perfect if you want to watch a game or something. The staff are pretty great and know the beers well, and will be honest about what they think of them. Loved the black lager, the phaded pale ale, cowboy, and the tropical IPA. And bonus, if you have a dog or need some canine lovin', they are very much welcome here.

Another of my favorite breweries. The have a great selection of beers. The bar staff are very friendly and do a fine job. Brian never leaves me with an empty glass, which can be dangerous and "Riggi" is just a joy to be around. They do not serve food but there is a burger bar across the street and you can bring outside food in to eat. Parking can be awkward at times but that is only because the place is so popular. They hold events for charity now and again which I like to see. Family friendly. They allow dogs which is great.

Cool atmosphere. Beer list was not too impressive. Came her on a Sunday and the beer was really warm. I would not come here for the beer but rather a nice atmosphere and good service. Unfortunately when you are a brew house you need to execute on the beer.

This place is listed in the "Ten Hottest Beer Gardens Across the US" by Zagat. It's also a dog friendly spot (1 of the biggest highlights for me because I like dogs more than I like beer)! They have a little dog treat dispenser in the front of this place for your pooch homies. I came in here and got followed by the cutest puppy bull terrier named Gigi (?). She was adorably playful and puppy-like. This place offers beer flights for $9 (6 tasters of 4oz beers)-what a great value! It came with Gump's Viena lager, Tropical Snow Dance, an amber, Nadare lager, Platt Park Porter (made with Kaladi brother's coffee) and an IPA. I also tried their sour beer which comes in original flavor and watermelon. I tried the mix of the 2 together (as the bartender suggested because he said watermelon alone tends to be too sweet) & I thought it was delicious (like really sour juice). They have a shelf out back that offers tons of board games for you to play (Cards Against Humanity Jenga, etc). The place is cutely decorated with wooden tables, chalk menu board, garage like windows (very Denver-esque) and brushed nickel chairs. Their hours are Monday - Thursday: 3pm-10pm, Friday: 1pm-12am, Saturday: 12pm-12am, Sunday: 1pm-10pm This place was fun because they played a ton of music I listened to when I was in HS/middle school like My Chemical Romance, Sum 41, Blink 182, =W=eezer, Goo Goo Dolls, Red Hot Chili Peppers, New Found Glory, Yellowcard, etc. They also played some newer stuff like Childish Gambino, J. Cole & Kanye. So woot for fun music and nostalgia!

We were really impressed with Platt Park. We came in on a Sunday with a Groupon we purchased. The place is pretty spacious and brightly lit, right in the middle of South Pearl Street. It's got a very neighborhood feel to it. The deal we bought was pretty generous, two flights of the 6 house standards and two howlers. After trying all the beers in the flights we started in with a couple of pints. They have a vanilla cream ale that was original, and the porter has some good coffee flavor to it. In fact, all of their beers were good, I'd have gladly had a whole pint of anything there. The only one I didn't try was the sour as I don't like those, but Jess had it. She said it was heavy on the sour but enjoyed. They have a nice patio and a large room in the back that can be reserved for a large party. The only thing wrong was that the man behind the bar floated between aloof and unhappy. Other than that, this may rank as one of our favorite new brew house discoveries. We will definitely be back here. Cheers!
