Fast, friendly, fresh, and delicious. It seems to be a very regular crowd and it's nothing fancy. For the last year or so, my friend has made this their go-to gyros spot. So I had to finally try it out! The prices seem a tad high, but they do stuff the pita so generously full that you will have plenty of overflowing meat to let a friend try. The service is awesome and the food will leave you craving more. Mmm... they also have thick cut fries and another nice touch are the perfect tomatoes. I also have to add that I love when a place isn't shy about providing you with more sauce. I had devoured my tzatziki and before I knew it, our server was pushing two more little tubs of it towards us. She even gave me a to-go tub, rightfully saying "you can't have leftovers without the sauce!"

I'm really torn about this place. On the one hand, the food is really good -- the pita is unbeatable and the eggs are top-notch -- but, on the other hand, their food is undermined by the consistently rude service. Two recent anecdotes to illustrate: A while ago, I was in for dinner with a friend. After placing our orders -- he got the spanikopita, which is a relatively inexpensive menu item -- he was told that he had to order something more expensive, otherwise he could not sit and eat with me. I ventured back earlier this week when my better judgement was overridden by my craving for a greek omelette. I wanted to order it to go, which their website says they allow. When I got there, they wouldn't let me sit down while I waited for them to take my order. That would've been fine if it were an order-at-the-counter situation, but it's not -- i had to stand over in a corner while I waited for a waitress to come take my order and then make my omelette. This might've made sense if the restaurant had been really busy, but it wasn't -- less than a quarter of the restaurant's numerous tables were occupied, so the refusal to let me sit or maybe offer me water while I waited struck me as off-putting. I've yet to have a pleasant experience with the staff here. I would really advise people to go to Pete's Kitchen a few blocks West instead. It's owned by the same people, and the food is equally good, but the service is consistent and much, much friendlier. TL;DR Mean people serving great pita. Go to Pete's Kitchen instead.

A friend brought us here and I loved the place as soon as I walked in the door. He said the waitress has been working there since he was in high school (long, long time, in other words ). The place feels like the institution it is. The food was good - a Greek salad and a special plate. Hearty portions. We left sated and charmed.

I eat here a lot! The gyros is so good after a night out of drinking . The people that work here are super friendly and just plain nice. I love to go here and relax. The food is always fresh and fast :)

There's ftiendly service here. I got Bud's Greek Salad, it was just mediocre. The gyro meat they used was flavourful but there was just way too much dressing in the salad. I took it to go, I probably should have requested to get the dressing on the side. I th ink the breakfast food might be really good here seems like even for a late lunch people were ordering breakfast foods. Th is place is like a diner.

I came in on a Sunday, quiet and not too busy. I ordered a small Greek salad and a Gyro. The salad was made with iceberg lettuce, but had a lot of great veggies and a delicious square of herbed Feta cheese. (Iceburg lettuce is not my choice of leafy greens in a Greek salad. It ended up watered down.) The Greek dressing was nothing but oil...YUCK! The Gyro sandwich came with plenty of meat, but with half a tomato that was still intact with the stem...really? I should have saved my Feta and put it on my sandwich. There is no bottled water, but I can understand, I guess. To top off my experience, the cook and the owner (heavy set lady with dirty blonde hair), start arguing over hours worked for an employee (whom does not speak English). As the other employee I standing there, the argument got louder and louder until one of the servers had to say...SSSSHHHHH! Very unprofessional to say the least. Sigh...should've gone to Gyroz drive thru...much better service.

You don't expect much walking in, but this is def the best Greek food in Denver. We started with spanakopita, which was delicious. It was a little stronger in one flavor than I'm used to. Maybe olive? Either way, I almost spoiled my lunch by stuffing my face with this app. My date also got a salad first. It was a delicious salad. The veggies were so crisp and fresh and flavorful and the Greek dressing was light but drenching. Definitely add a salad! Or actual meals were a gyro plate and gyro sandwich. Neither of us came even close to finishing, they give soo much food. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked, tender meat, soft pita but didn't fall apart, and amazing and refreshing tahziki sauce. So good! Definitely recommend!

We came here because the hubby wanted a gyros. He ordered a gyro that came with fries. I ordered the sampler plate, which came with gyros meat, dolmades, olives, peperoncinis, feta cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, and a pita. It was so good and service was awesome. I had to get a to-go box for my food because it was huge. Of course, you have to order baklava, which I did to go, but it looked so good, I ate bites out of tge container box before we got to the cashier counter lol.

We Don't Need Another Gyro Sorry about that. I just love the 80's way too much! Hey, this place is fantastic!! I highly recommend coming here for a value-packed, taste sensation! Pete's restaurants are a staple in Denver. Each eatery has a unique flair that makes it special. Pete's Gyros Place certainly fits that mold. Here, you can eat like a king and pay like a pauper. Let me start by saying that the serving sizes are phenomenal! Your plate will runneth over. You can stuff your face and still have some leftovers to take home in a doggy bag. The cooks here aren't serving up Soylent Green, either. The food is hot, fresh and toothsome. As if that wasn't enough, the prices are incredibly reasonable. A+ all the way!!

I love Greek food, so much so I try to eat it 2-3 times a week. Being from Chicago, which is famous for its Greek restaurants, I'm a little picky about my Gyros and will only eat then from certain places, and Pete's will be one of those places for me in Denver. The atmosphere, service and food are all top notch and the Tzatziki sauce is mind blowing. The Gyro plate is one of the best food deals I've had in Denver so far. You probably can't eat it all, and it's all delicious. It starts with a nice sized Greek salad, that was perfect in flavor. Then you move on to the actual plate which is perfectly steamed veggies, fresh cut fries and the gyro meat and veggies with 2 half pitas. I'm trying to finish the last of my food as I type this but don't think I can. I love this place, highly recommended it and can't wait to eat here again.

Been eating at Pete's Gyros Place since it opened - used to live near there. When in Denver, Pete's is a favorite no-frills, home style Greek food establishment. Great for gatherings - invite friends and family and then head down there during the week - weekends it's noisy and swamped! Next door are some sweet and tasty deserts and Greek coffee as well. Get the platter - it's enough to feed three people. Always great service - tasty food, excellent value, very casual atmosphere. For those who remember Pete's steak house this is the next best thing and in some ways better!

3 stars for distance from my apartment, customer service, size of plates/amount of food and also price. Minus 2 stars for the gyros. I think the gyro meat is not crispy enough, a little lacking in flavor and reminiscent of bologna, to be honest. However, the stuffed grape leaves are absolutely to die for as well as the greek salad. These 2 dishes are worth a million bucks. Seriously. I was disappointed not to be able to get the chance to try their hummus because they were out...? (Not sure how you can be out of mashed garbanzo beans...seems like you could make more but ok.) I am excited to go back and try maybe the souvlaki or a kabab. Anything but the gyros, sorry Pete. P.S. The bakery next door/attached is the most amazing place I've been in my life. So go there to wash the taste of bologna out of yo mouth.

The hash browns here are my life. Get them extra crispy with a side of feta. It is a diner. It is old school. Don't get the coffee (unless u like 1950's bad coffee), other than that...HUGE portions, great Greek food. Affordable.

A friend, my wife and I dropped in here early one morning after previously-mentioned friend brought it up as we were discussing nearby breakfast spots. We were both like, "Gyro in breakfast? Surely you can't be serious!" But he was, and we went immediately. I had the burrito. I thought it would be just gyro meat and bacon, cause I was sure it said, "ham or bacon or corned beef or sausage or something," but this thing was full of EVERYTHING plus hash browns, covered in cheese and green chili! Made me want to move next door! My wife had the spinach and feta and would not share! It was good. Friend had the gyro sandwich which looked pretty big, served with a pile of fresh onion rings. Coffee came out before I even knew I needed it, service was freakin' amazing. I love this place.

Nom nom, love this place! Thanks for being so close to my house! The gyro/portions are so big! The taziki sauce is awesome as well, not too dilly, JuST right! And plenty of it! I'll go back time and time again!

I'm a tzatziki addict and was lookin for a fix so I went on yelp and found Petes. I didn't expect it to be a diner styled restaurant or that this 'Pete' also owned several other restaurants on east colfax But damn! Everything was delicious We started out with the hummus (the last order of the day ..come to find out and I was ecstatic!) Next I had a gyro plate with souvlaki meat (marinated pork) which was flavorful but a little tough for my taste My boyfriend had the gyro plate with gyro meat, he says it some of the best he had.. Then of course I had to bring the leftovers home(huge portion sizes) And at last ordered a slice of carrot cake to go.. Cake wasn't the best but good enough :) !

The food here is consistently good. The portions are large, and the flavors are great. I routinely get Bud's Greek Salad with souvlaki (though sometimes gyros) and find I literally have cravings for it. The marinade for the meat is beautifully tasty, and the house made tzatziki is (literally) awesomesauce in all its garlicky goodness!

This place has all the makings of Al's Diner from the show Alice. It's kinda dumpy, no frills, but clean inside. The servers are friendly, but not overly chatty (in a good way). The place shines for value and flavor, its great and a tremendous value. The gyro plate is enough food for two or take half home for later. For under $15 you get a monster Greek salad, a pile of gyro meat and mountain of fries. Great food, super casual and a killer value. Maybe not a great spot to woo a first date, hit it on the walk of fame the next morning.

Not too bad. We've ever only gone for the Greek food so my rating is only based off that. The portions are huge and they are very generous with the meat. It's soooo much meat that we can bring home and make another meal out of it! Only downside is that they don't have rice, just salad. Ask for the dressing on the side because they like to drown that plate of salad, lol. Not bad prices for that much food. I've never seen a restaurant serve up that much meat before so it's really awesome that in this day and age, you can still find a good restaurant that is not stingy on its portions.

If you are familiar with east Colfax you are probably aware of the many "Pete's" establishments. There's also a pretty good chance you've ventured into one and had an amazing meal. Well Pete's Gyros Place is no different. If you haven't been to a Pete's you're in for a treat. It doesn't look like much from the outside but once you are inside you'll be greeted by the warm staff. You'll be sat at a table that is most likely tacky (not sure if this is from residual grease or the finish wearing off) but don't be alarmed, that is all just part of the experience. I typically levitate towards the Gyro's Greek style which includes a large helping of Gyros, fries and a wonderful Greek salad, or Dino's plate which is similar but adds a generous helping of Souvlaki. Pete's is consistently amazing and so is their staff. Like always, careful where you park on east Colfax. You might come out to find your car missing if you are careless. Towing companies work like scam-artists in that area.

Super easy place to stop in for n inexpensive lunch or dinner. We ordered Dino's plate which could easily have fed three adults!

New Gyro place in Broomfield which had a pretty tasty Gyro. I also got some stuff to go for eating later and all was pretty tasty. They had just opened the day before I visited so you could tell they were breaking in the ordering system but all in all a good place for some tasty mediteranean eats...

I've been coming to this little hole-in-the-wall cafe since I was literally a baby and for years we were on a first name basis with the waitresses there, some of who worked there for a decade or longer. The place is definitely a greasy spoon, but the best kind: friendly service, kitchy decorations from 50 years ago, and DELICIOUS gyros.

Food was good, especially their tzaziki. The place needs an upgrade badly. Will be back for the food but i think a renovation would make this place way better.

I will admit I am no Gyro Sandwich guru, although i was not very satisfied the two times I have eaten at this restaurant. The decor is from the 1970's and I can deal with that although the owner hacking up a lung (RIGHT BY THE FLAT TOP) the last two times I have been there really was gross. The Gyro sandwich is the only item I have tried and I will say the meat was very tender and had a decent flavor. What the Gyro lacked was a soft non flaky peta (mine crumbled apart both times). The sandwich also lacked everything that i love about a Gyro; there was one tomato, ONE (i do not mean an entire tomato i'm talking like a slice). There may have been one little sliver of onion and there was no cucumber. If you decide to order this sandwich I recommend you ask for extra tomato, extra onion and cucumber if thats your thing. Other then that, I would rather eat the street food Gyro's offered in various parts of Denver.

Meh. Service was poor and uninterested in helping (menu dropped on table without comment, told to enjoy by waitress as she walked away after slapping down plate on table). Food was mediocre at best. Won't be coming back.

This friendly Greek Haven has been my favorite go to Gyros place for years. I moved out of state and when I would come back to Colorado I always went out of my way to go here. Well, I am back and visit frequently. The service is always friendly and as quick as it can possibly be. For breakfast the Gyros and eggs with pita is my favorite. Don't forget to ask for some feta to be sprinkled in or get a side of feta and a little extra tzatziki!

My wife and I ate at Pete's Gyros Place last Thursday, November 13, 2014. This was our second time eating there. Food was great and plentiful. Price was right. I highly recommend eating there, if one is on Colfax Avenue in the downtown area of Denver, CO.

They have gyros here. I like to call them JI-ROSE for shits and giggles to seem dumber than I am, cause well - Sean gets bored real easy like on account of my INSANELY HIGH IQ. And my eternally restless soul. Anyhow - if you want to get some saltly lamb and some mediocre humus, without traveling more than a block or so from the Tattered Cover - then I probably went here with you last week.

I wanted to try Greek in Denver and I found about 86 places with the name Pete's so I figured they were all owned by the same people and would be relatively the same quality. After putting in the address in my GPS and driving towards the location, and being new in the area, I was looking for signs saying Greek or Gyro. Of course the place I was looking for was looking for was not the place I ended up at, in fact the place I was looking for was a competitor across the street, or at least I think it is a competitor because it bears part of the same name, and there was this reason this place had a lower rating. It was bright inside, but it just felt dirty and old. I ordered a gyro plate, the lamb really wasn't that great, the fries honestly were the best part. The prices weren't outrageous but I really wouldn't have expected them to be with the quality of food. There is a 4 spot private lot in the back that was full so I had to park on the street, there was plenty of spaces in front. The service was nice and courteous, and both of the waitresses were good looking which offset the rest of the experience and is for the only reason this place got a 2. The cooks were Spanish and made the choice to speak in Spanish thinking that no one else understood, error on their part, while it didn't bother me that the cook and the bus boy were cursing and generally talking dirty it's probably something that would have bothered many others that spoke Spanish or if they were to have done so in English. Just really unprofessional. I won't be going back or recommending this place. I really don't understand all the positive reviews on this place, it really was not that great. Either the people that rated this place so high have not had other good Greek food, or they just rate high and don't really analyze.

The BEST Gyros in Denver!!!!! Friendly service... Highly recommend this place... I had the gyro melt on grilled rye... my partner had the breakfast gyro... both were stellar!!!!

After reading other Yelp reviews indicating this place had best Gyros in Denver, my wife and I dropped in for lunch. I couldn't agree more. I ordered the gyro "rueben" and my wife ordered the gyro plate with Greek salad. Gyro meat was hot and juicy w/o being greasy. The tazeiki was great. Greek salad was excellent as well. We will be back!
(5)
Staxx R.
The gyros are good, not great. The meat was tender with good flavor, but they are skimpy on the fixings, and NO cucumber. The decor is really old, and the place is not kept up very well. The bathrooms are pretty old, run-down, and gross. The service is good. But for a place that claims to have the "best gyros" you would think they would update the decor and keep it cleaner. I would have prob gave it 4 stars for the food. But the atmosphere is not very appealing. Would I drive 25 mins to eat there again? Nah, its not that great.

Amazing gyro and souvlaki. I can recommend there platter for less than 20$ it will feed a family of 4 no problem and comes with a big beautiful Greek salad. -1 for dated atmosphere and and Colfax location. They have takeout so enjoy!

Best gyros!!!! And the tzatziki sauce is delicious!!! However, every time I ask them to put the sauce right on the gyro (which is how I always got it in Europe, so assumed this was the normal way to eat it) I get the craziest looks - but I still make them do it anyway because they normally just put it on the side and I want mine smothered in the goodness that is tzatziki :) I haven't dined in, just get it to go but can say that the service has always been good and they are always friendly while I wait. I have only had the gyro and fries but once I find something I like, I tend to stick to it and have no intention of deviating from that any time soon. So this review is based on the gyros only - and that's good enough for me :)

Craving a big delicious fresh Greek salad? Do you like tzatziki sauce? Got picky eaters dining among you? Do you like pancakes? Do you like gyros? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, look no further, Pete's Gyro Place is the cozy little diner you need in your life. The Greek salad is delicious. I usually get chicken or gyro on top. The tzatziki sauce that comes with the pita is delicious. The salad is huge and comes with always fresh lettuce, tomato, onions, greek olives, a brick of feta, grape leaves, peppers. The serving of meat is always very generous. This is the best Greek salad in town. I can't even find a Greek salad like this in New York City. There is plenty of variety, especially for the picky eaters that we are sometimes forced to keep company with. Pete's has most things your typical greasy spoon diner would have. The service is prompt. The waitresses here don't mess around. By this, I mean they're on top of it and they work hard. If you're lucky you'll have some room left in your belly to go eat some Greek cookies next door at Greek bakery.

This has to be the best of the Pete's eateries, at least in my opinion. I love how well seasoned all the food is, and what great execution. Take out orders are prepped in a thoughtful manner, when you open up your packages back at home you will smile. The salads are bountiful and delicious, even the 'small' size is a feast, my last one (ordered small Greek) came with a large block of feta and tons of nice ripe vegetables! The Avgolemono soup is 'souper' good here, just the right amount of lemon and egg. But the secret is in the sauce, that exceptional tzatziki! Made with sour cream, yes non-traditional but oh so creamy good. There is a good balance of the ingredients, and that's something that can be hard when making this condiment. The platters are huge and look delicious, I can't wait to share one with some hunky and very hungry dude. Opa!

One of my favorite places in all of Denver when I'm in need of some Greek comfort food. I almost always get the gyro plate or the souvlaki, and I love the bountiful assortment of tomatoes, olives, green peppers, cucumbers, pickled peppers, and feta that comes with the platters. Their tzatziki is rediculously good, and I love that they sprinkle chopped onions on the meat, they really help contrast the fat. Great service as well, always a pleasant experience.

Still the best Greek food in town. Go for the food, the service, the music and the amazing low prices. I still vote for a refurb of the bathroom. I will return! :-)

This is THE PLACE in Denver if you want affordable and very tasty Greek food. It's an old diner that was brought into the Pete's 'fold' a number of years ago and it's held its own with regards to consistent good food and excellent service. If you're hungry for two, get the Greek Platter and you'll probably go home with left overs for another light meal. The gyros, souvlaki, greek entrees are all good and the portions are ample. One reason I didnt give it five stars... the place needs a top to bottom remodel and/or total cleaning. Not that it's bad or anything remote to less than healthy standards, the place simply needs a good steam cleaning. Anyway, while you're there, go next door to the Greek bakery and buy some really authentic Greek pastries. All delicious. Pete's is not fancy! However, it's a place where everyone goes for good Greek diner food. Enjoy.

As a longtime Greek food fan I wasn't expecting much when I walked in, but was quickly made a believer! Food was awesome - got the gyros player - and reasonably priced for dinner and in terms of portion size. Service was friendly and quick and the tzatziki was among the best I've ever had.

The phrase "greasy spoon" comes to mind when I think of Pete's. I'm not sure how long this place has been around but it's obviously been a long, long time. And with good reason - the food is fantastic! Absolutely the best Greek salad in town. You get a whole chicken breast smothered in onions and grilled to order, all the typical Greek salad toppings and delectable dressing, dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), and pita bread warmed on the grill. The employees are super friendly as well. I have a feeling that Pete's will be around for many more years to come.

This is by far the best Greek food I've ever eaten. We've been eating here for about 10 years. The food is consistently good and fresh. Take out is done equally well. We always order Pete's Grecian Platter $19.99, a side of dolmades and a lemonade. Way more food than two people can eat. The tzaziki sauce in unbelievably delicious and their not stingy with it. However, cleanliness is not their strong suit, just don't look up at the ceiling or go to the bathroom and you'll be just fine!!!

I have high expectations for Greek food because Chicago has so many fantastic Greek restaurants. I came in for lunch yesterday afternoon and the souvlaki sandwich and tzaziki sauce were AMAZING. I awarded 5 stars because my server was so great, I came in alone and sat down at the counter and dined in. She and I had small talk throughout my meal, she was so interesting and friendly. I wish I could have stayed to chat but I was on my way to a massage. I will return when I'm back in Denver, and I've already suggested this to a few local business partners!

$2.95 breakfast special and you'll leave full and with a smile on. Some of the best waitresses on Colfax! Don't order breakfast at night though or the drunk cooks will cuss and yell back and forth with the manager and it will be like the reality show they never made. Excellent little cafe with very affordable prices!

I've been eating here since I was a child and I'm happy to report nothing has changed - same decor, same friendly service. I can't help but get nostalgic every time I stop in. Pete's has some of the best breakfasts too. You can't go wrong with a Greek egg-white omelet. Prices are reasonable and seating is limited so be prepared for a wait, depending on the time you go.

Have been eating here for YEARS and would recommend this to anyone as I've brought all my family and friends to eat here. Good food and really good spot for breakfast. I order "Gyro and Eggs" everytime with Pita instead of toast. This way you can make little mini Gyro sandwiches and still have hashbrown and eggs to eat too. YUMMY!

I am (finally) breaking radio/review silence to gout my admiration of this place. I had the happy juxtaposition of being out late on a Saturday night, watching a play with a friend, who declined to join me for after-theater food, and a few weeks old but much beloved Android.. I used my new Yelp app (yay yay, I'm finally *free* :)...and dug around for what was open past 10pm on a Saturday night and scrolled down the list...saw Pete's listing and the 4-star average over 50+ users, and said "Done. I need my gyros fix." They do a lot more than gyros here, of course, and I was briefly torn between "The Big Greek Combo", which comes with Pastitsio (Greek lasagna), mousaka, spinach pie and gyro meat - but I finally decided on their superb gyros plate. About 8 minutes later, I had a to-go container, the standard white styrofoam square container...half of which was filled to the brim with square cut, *perfectly* crisp french fries. Sadly they came with no salt on it, but that can easily be overlooked and forgiven. The other half was laden with a mountain of deliciously seasoned gyro meat, grilled onions, half-slices of fresh tomato, and the softest, most delicious pita bread I think I've ever had in my life. Sorry, Jerusalem, you may be closer but you just got schooled, I was ravenous when I left with my container, and I think I'm gonna have just under half of it as leftovers -- quite a deal for $9. I got 2 deep tubs of tzatziki sauce, which amazingly was not the consistency of cool ranch dressing, but a lot more like sour cream with cucumber seasonings in it...try it with the gyros OR the fries, it's a no-lose sitch either way. I didn't get the spellings of their names, but the staff will take extremely good care of you...Kassiman (note: I've managed to mess up this name and will try and get the real spelling next time...) especially was very warm and engaging, and that's what kicked this up to a 5-star review -- not that the food alone wasn't, say, 4.5 stars by itself. *SO* good. Take a gander at their online menu, they serve a lot more than typical Greek fare as well, and they also serve breakfast as well...omelettes, pork chops, pancakes, etc etc. *Marvelous*. I am strongly debating going there again tomorrow...the food is just too good to pass up. Check em out...you can't really go wrong here, service or food-wise.

This place is great! My husband & I go here when we want a HUGE Greek meal. Parking is free on the street and we have often found spots directly in front of the business. I usually order the Greek Sampler Plate. It has a little bit of everything so you don't have to settle for one thing. My husband & I have split Dino's Combo Plate and that was enough food for the two of us. The Greek salads are delicious as well as their gyros. The spanakopita is great as well. As a matter of fact, we haven't had anything here we didn't like. The prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food for the price. The service is quick, the place is clean, and the waitresses are nice. It feels like you just walked into your grandma's kitchen. Highly recommend this place.

Num num num. Pete's Gyro Place is awesome. My girlfriend and I went in here the other day in an effort to "diversify" our eating spots. This location is perfect...excellent service, food, and atmosphere. We ordered Dolmades as an appetizer. Although I am not a fan of food saturated in brine, these were pretty good. For an entree, we split the Greek Platter. For $20, you get a huge selection of beef, gyro meat, and chicken souvlaki. More then enough for two people. The platter was HUGE, with a lot of meat, salad, more dolmades, and pitas to share. Each meat tasted fresh and cooked to perfection and the pitas were good as well. When we ran out of pitas, the waitress brought some more over free of charge. This was an incredible value considering the cost of one gyro was around $9. I would HIGHLY recommend Pete's.

I graduated from East High School, let's just say its been over 20 years now, and I have been coming to Pete's since then. One thing that is always consistent is the food. The gyro Greek style platter is the bomb. It includes a full sized Greek salad with Greek olives, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers and peppercino peppers, plus a huge square of feta cheese all engulfed in the best Greek salad dressing on the planet. That's just the appetizer...then they bring out a plate full of gyro meat, onions, tomatoes and crunchy French fries accompanied with fresh pits bread and the sauce that goes on them. This is by far the best Greek food I have ever encountered. The ambiance is casual, its on Colfax, and the wait staff is normally very attentive. We have had in the past some more non-chalant waitresses that have a hard time keeping your drinks refilled, one of my biggest pet peeves when dining out, but this time our waitress never let our glass get less than halfway before she was over for a refill. This is an old favorite of mine and we will always cone back time and time again because the food is fantastic. Don't forget the baklava for dessert. It looks small on the plate, but is so rich and gooey, that it is just enough of a capper to finish off a yummy meal.

Had the gyro sandwich with potato salad. Not too bad meat not freshly cooked but still delicious. Would rather have hot off the grill.

I have been coming here for years to eat and I must say the best gyros in town. I had gyros at an other place not so good got more salad than gyros will not be going there again. So if you want great gyros go to Pete's Gyros Place and enjoy.

I've had better... The gyro was dry! Ask them to but the tziki sauce directly on the gyro!

Best gyros in Denver. I heard the other Pete's off of Logan/Alameda area is run by the same guy but we like to go here on Colfax. We have the same waitress every time and she is the BEST! (Actually I think they only have one waitress). We go to Pete's about once a month and have NEVER been disappointed, the waitress even remembers our extra Tzaziki sauce. Love this woman, also, the owner lady (not sure the names) is just as awesome, I can see her being my Greek mother saying "did you get enough to eat?! eat eat!" You cannot beat this gyro. It's phenomenal, cheap and great service, you will not be disappointed. I wish I could give this place six stars! The dolmades are super good too. Love love love this place!

As a non-native, I've come to realize that Denverites have a one star upward food bias. That is, they think the food is one star better than it actually is. Pete's Gyro Place is a perfect example. The gyros are good, but definitely not four star. And if you're going to be a "gyro place," your gyro should be top notch. These gyros wouldn't even be the best in many neighborhoods in Detroit, Chicago, or even Los Angeles. The meat was nice, but could definitely use more flavor. And the pita was way too moist - almost soggy. Overall, a pretty boring sandwich. I would feel a lot better if my gyro sandwich was $6. But it's $8.25, and just ok. Pete's may be a Denver tradition, but it's a three star one to be sure.

Quite bummed there was no falafel, there normally is at places like this. Don't go here if that's what you are wanting. Ended up getting a salad in a pita, with a side of French fries?? French fries????? lol Probaly won't be going back here...

I always, always order the gyros "greek style" platter to go. It's like $10, and you get a big pile of gyro meat and fries, with the onions and tzaziki sauce and tomatoes, as well as a separate whole plate full of greek salad, with domades, olives, peppercinis, and a huge chunk of fresh feta cheese. Mmmmmmmm - mmmmmmmmm I get at least 2 full meals out of this, and it's always so comforting and good.

Simply the best Greek food in the Denver area. I totally agree with the reviewer prior to me it reminds me of Greek Town in Chicago. Diner style, not fancy just excellent food at a good price. I like the Dino's Special includes Greek Salad, slab of Feta, Olives and peppers. Both Souvlaki and Gyro meat are included as well as two Dolmades. When your done go across the street to Pete's Ice Cream....yep the same guy. Another touch that I like is the mini round ice in the soda's brings back memories from my childhood also on occasion they have paper straws as well feels like the 70's

Hands down the BEST Greek food around. My colleagues and I would sneak away at least once a month for a very special lunch at our favorite spot...Pete's Gyro Place. The food is out of this world, and the wait staff is second to none. The location is great, but the curb appeal is somewhat questionable, so DO NOT be fooled!!! Tip 1: I recommend the Deno's Plate (Gyro and Souvlaki meat atop a bed of Greek salad. Includes dolmades, huge chunk of feta, kalamata olives, pepperoncini's, cucumbers, tomato slices... and last, but certainly not least...the best damn tzatsiki sauce and fresh pita bread.) Tip 2: Save half of the meal (believe me, there is PLENTY) for another day and go next door to the Greek bakery. I recommend the Almond cookies, but EVERYTHING is amazing.

Average Greek food in a diner environment. That's as succinctly as I can describe this place. Had the gyro. It was ok. It wasn't bad, but it would not even sniff a mention for best gyro I've ever had if I were to have such a conversation. Standard stuff... 2 tomatoes, some chopped onion, average tasting meat, and sauce in a pita. The sauce was a little thicker and blander than the really great places. It almost had the consistency of sour cream which is unusual. The fries were ok. Nothing special there. A little on the expensive side as well.

Here's the skinny: Handsome chef OK Decor Definitely needs cleaning in spots, especially under the ice machine. Waitress was pleasant if not overly friendly. Food was okay. I think I will stick with my Broomfield place. The Gyros were decent here, definitely not as good as in Broomfield or back home in Chicago. Fries were cooked and not soggy but the grease they cook them in must not be up to temperature because the fries themselves were loaded with grease. They play the game of loading your cup with chipped ice and then dispensing the beverage into an already small cup. On street parking. Credit cards accepted. Decently busy for noon. Okay but not worth my coming back from Reunion to this location. Can Denver please import some more Greeks? Honestly $10.36ish including tax is a bit high even if the gyro was filled to overflowing with meat. (I had the Gyro sandwich meal.) The only other condiments you'll get are 2 slices tomato, a lot of onion, and a side of sauce. The sandwich includes fries. Beverage was $1.75 with free refill. Summary: 2.5 with Yelp rounding giving them the benefit of a 3.

I love Pete's. Pete's anything. For me, the combo of atmosphere, food, kitsch, hot sauce and tzatziki is perfect. I usually come with a friend and split the Dino's Plate or the Greek Style. I must admit, I could live the rest of my life without ever eating the souvlaki here but I couldn't live without the gyro. The greek salad they serve here is amazing - the feta is not too salty which makes me so happy every time i get a bite in with a chunk of it. I switched up my usual order last time and was blown away - so overwhelmed that I might just order this from now on....The Greek Style Omelet - its the last one on the back side of the menu. It's gyro, tomato, onion, feta - I added spinach. I was expecting something tasty but was totally taken by how perfectly crafted this omelet was. Very thin egg, diced gyro meat, lots of spinach, tomatoes and creamy feta mixed in evenly throughout.....holy moly was it delicious. Every bite had a little bit of everything because the cook had diced up the gyro meat and mixed in the feta. THE BEST!!! My friend had omelet envy for sure. I agree with some of the other reviews, Pete's can be a hit or a miss, but now that I've found another option if I'm not feeling the traditional Greek Style/Dino's etc, I'm completely smitten once again!

What can I say about Pete's that hasn't already been said perfectly?Probably nothing, so I won't waste your time with redundant details. I will say that I like the location, the old school diner feel, the generous portions, and obviously the good food. It isn't the best I ever had, it seems like the food was missing something and it was probably a dollar or two expensive. Still Pete's is worth the stop if you have a taste for a Geero, Giyro, Euro or whatever the hell you call it.

Brian Z.
I have only eaten their gyro's so I can't comment on the rest of their menu. But....as far as gyro's go, I easily give a 5 out of 5 stars. Imagine an overflowing fresh warm pita filled with meaty deliciousness. Then topped with fresh tomato and onion. Finish it with as much tazitki as your heart desires. Oh, and add to that about a pound of fries and you've got yourself a gyro plate that I would put up against any.

I like this place a lot. The food is fresh and portions generous. The gyro is great, I love the tzatsiki sauce. I even had the breakfast here and it's really good. Staff is friendly, but they can take their sweet time if the place is busy (which is often since the diner is a bit small). Totally worth it though!

Best Gyro Sandwich in town. Tzatziki sauce is phenomenal. Prompt service and the fresh ingredients make it a must stop!

If you are searching online for a Greek place that is VERY tasty in the authentic way then you should go here. We stumbled onto this place reading reviews just like this, and I gotta say, we have not found a better place to get gyros in Denver. On top of that, it's still ran by a family and their food is always fresh and delicious. This place also does breakfast (even though I haven't sampled that yet) so they have awesome diner -style coffee that goes perfect with the kind of food they serve. Nothing super fancy just real good, authentic food that is fresh and not overpriced. Go here!

I have been on a greek food binge since returning from NYC. Stopped in here one afternoon after work and ordered a gyro platter. The cook got up from where he was sitting and proceeded to put fries in the frier and meat on the grill, when I noticed...he did not wash his hands!! That is just not acceptable, no matter how many years you have been in business!

Bad food, bad service, and semi-thievery. I gave the waitress $10 for an $8.50 to-go order and she walked away, assuming the rest was for her. Rude. Now for the food. It was greasy and artery-clogging, yet completely flavorless. There were two slices of tomato plopped on top of the gyro. There was NOTHING mixed in with the meat, just a big pile of greasy, flavorless sawdust beef. To top it off they have "Tips for to-go orders are appreciated" pasted right on their cash register. I don't know about you, but that makes me feel like a stingy cheapskate no matter how much tip I give. Hmm... maybe that's why the waitress stole my $1.50

We had the gyro melt with fries. It was gyro meat, grilled onions, tomatoes, cheese, tzaziki sauce, on rye bread. Delicious. We had dinner party that evening and again tonight. My husband made 2 batches of pastisio but was not going to take on spanokopita, that is why we come here. They have cold ready-made spanokopita and all you have to do is heat and eat. Service is always good and food is always delicious. We headed next door for Greek cookies and we impressed our dinner guests with a wonderful meal.

This place is awesome. It's a mixture of classic and a few other things. I think the prices are reasonable, and you get quite a lot. There's the cliche old Greek guys sitting in the back that make you wonder if ease dropping would be a mistake. Overall, thisvplace is great for many reasons and ill frequent this place again.

Yum yum! We love this place and have never ordered anything on the menu that wasn't fabulous. Excellent place for a little people watching. If you're lucky like we were when we were there last you will be entertained by the waitress dramas.

Having been disappointed with just about all the greek food I've found in Denver, I asked around the office, "where can I get a really good gyros?" "You gotta go to Pete's Kitchen!" what the unanimous and emphatic answer. Well ok then, I thought. Best give this place a try. I looked em up online and discovered that Pete's makes up about half a dozen different establishments all within a few blocks of each other on Colfax, and just about all of them have Greek menus! For whatever reason, I decided to try this location out first, and I was not to be disappointed! The gyros could not possibly be better I don't think. The meat almost melts in your mouth and is perfectly seasoned. The pita bread is soft and delicious, and the tzatziki is rich and authentic. When I ordered, I got the gyros platter that comes with a salad. Let me tell you: come to Pete's hungry because this meal was enough for two hearty appetites! The salad that comes with it aint no dainty plate of greens. More importantly, it might be the best Greek salad I've ever had. You wouldn't think so to look at it, but this simple looking pile of lettuce is doctored up with the best dressing, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and pepperocini's (OMG THE PEPPEROCINIS!!!) I've ever had. To top it off, you get this gargantuan mountain of delicious food for less than what I pay at most stops through a drive-thru. Bottom line, Pete's keeps it simple with quality ingredients you just can't get almost anywhere else, gives you a ton of it, and charges you almost nothing in return. If I didn't live so far away, I'd be one of their biggest regulars for sure. I cannot wait for my next visit to Pete's Gyro Place.

I haven't always been Gyro fan...I can thank my Chicago native husband for my new found love for delicious Greek food. I've become somewhat a Gyro snob thanks to him, and this place definitely passed the test. Service was spot on; food was superb; price was right. Not a whole lot more to say...this is one of the top spots for a damn good Gyro in Denver.

I don't know why they had to go and change things!! This place used to be the place to go. But about a year ago they started making changes. First it started with the peperchinis and now it's the whole menu. my mom and I would come to this palce at least once a month. but since they changed the menu we haven't even wanted to drive by the place. I don't know why they did that but they've lost some loyal customers. I don't know if they started cutting corners or what but even the chef and bus staff was different. Also there is this one watress who is always taking about closing our our ticket so she can go home to another waitress. I don't know how it's been doing since the changes but I'm going to start looking else where for my souvlaki fix. I did notice that they weren't as busy when we did last go there and it was around dinner time.

Being from Chicagoland, I have a hard time calling any area of Denver 'Greek Town.' Especially when something like 8 of the establishments are owned by the same guy... thankfully that one guy, Pete, can make some good Greek grub. The meat was cooked perfectly (though it could have been a little hotter), the portion was good and the price is tough to beat. It's no Uncle Nick's in RockVegas, but when I crave a gyro, which is more often than I'd like to admit, I now have a place to feed the need.

I got Bud's salad with chicken kabob. It rocked with flavor and freshness, and enough to feed two! Very nice.

This is a good place for Greek food! you will not be disappointed, the Gryos are very very tasty and large portions! you will not able to finish it. Many times after eating here I have leftovers, due to the large portions. Their Greek sampler it's awesome!... It's consistently delicious every time we go there.

Get here. Just had the best gyro west of Chicago. The place was hopping for dinner, going back for breakfast. Plates fresh, tasty and, ah, generous. A cafe vibe with staffers who treat you as friends and family.

This is one of my favorite gyros places around! It also helps that they are open even on the major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. So if you are single and have no where else to go for the holidays at least you can get a good gyro! Yep been there done that!

I have to admit I was a little scared to try this place because of the outside appearance...yep, I'm judgmental like that. Also, I live around the corner and have seen full-on 911 responses on more than on occasion (cops, ambulance, fire) and people being taken out on stretchers from either this place or the one next to it, so that didn't help much either. One night my hunger and craving for a gyro sandwich got the best of me and I was willing to chance a potential heart attack/drive-by shooting to check this place out. The inside is not much to look at and I probably wouldn't eat-in here. I got my gyro to go and could barely wait to get home to dive into it, it smelled so good. The gyro did not disappoint...it did give me some kickin' breath, but I guess that's the hallmark of good Greek food, right? Also, the tzaziki was nice and thick, which I appreciate. Looking forward to eating there again soon...

I previously reviewed this place, but accidentally thought it was "Pete's Kitchen"....which is another location. Confusing. I am glad I live no where near this place, because I would be hugely obese from scarfing down gyros, fries and Tzatziki sauce non -stop. The bakery next door is equally as lethal....I do not understand how Greek people stay thin. Love you Pete's !

I live so close to this place it's become my standby for when I can't bear cooking again. The best part of this Pete's location is the staff. The ladies who wait tables are super friendly and provide really excellent service. They're even sweeties when you're just picking up a take-out order. The food is pretty standard Pete's fare: greasy gyros and fries, well-seasoned souvlaki, tasty veggies and the best tzatziki I've ever had. The prices are pretty good, especially for the platters which provide enough food for four meals. I'm not all that fond of the breakfasts but that's because I can't stand browned omelets (the French in me I guess) and I can't really stomach so much grease early in the day. My husband loves the breakfasts, though. The exterior is definitely dingy, as is the dining room during or after a rush, but the open kitchen allows you to see that the food preparation areas are kept very clean. I have seen the cooks touch food with their bare hands (a big food-safety no-no) but that's the worst I've seen.

My kids & I stumbled on this place several years ago. Now it's our "special treat" whenever we're in the neighborhood (which isn't often enough!). My whole family is vegetarian, so we usually get the Greek Vegetarian Pocket. It's loaded with veggies, feta and some kind of oil dressing that, I swear, must contain crack or something equally addictive, because we salivate at the mention of the place. The last time we were there, my daughter ordered the Greek veggie omelet and loved it. Also, the mother-in-law ordered a meat dish and loved it (I don't remember which one, I'm a vegetarian after all!) The kids love dipping the french fries in tzatziki sauce. Give it a shot.

I have not tried the gyros, but this is the among the best places on Colfax for a good old fashioned breakfast. Everything was very good, and the French Toast was to die for. The breakfast here is better than the one at Pete's Greek and the folks from Annie's should come here for lessons. Now I just have to try the Gyros.
(4)

One of Pete's lesser known places. Very hole-in-the-wall. But offers the same good food you get from Pete's Kitchen. Breakfast, Greek, Burgers, Sandwiches, etc. The place is mostly clean. It is a good alternative to some of the other establishments that get too busy in the mornings. Sometimes you don't want to wait 30 mins for a table. Service is mostly courteous and funny. Strike up a convo with the guy who runs the cash register, you are sure to get a kick out of him!

I order catering from here today for a work party and I was very impressed! I was pleasantly greeted by a old kind greek man that called me sweetheart at least 5 times. The food was hot and ready to go upon my arrival. They packaged everything very nicely. The tomatoes and onions were separated so they weren't soggy upon prep and they provided ample amounts of lamb which was awesome. Also I was impressed with the amount of tzaki sauce and utensils packs they provided aswell. After everyone finished devouring their gyros they all complemented on what a great job they did. Also I quoted Renzios and Falafel King to do the catering and they were both almost twice the cost of Pete's! OPA OPA for Pete's!

Ahh. this place reminds me of ditching school at east high school and getting some of the best greek food in town. Since then the tradition has continued. The people are very friendly and remember faces. The portions are huge. I always get the gyros/souvlaki combo plate and it has never let me down. The owner pete has brought life back to the colfax area the last several years with his fantastic buisness ventures. Definitley a great neighborhood joint

Another one of Pete's restaurants. Pretty small inside, the staff is super friendly. Always quick service. Typical diner food, the gyros are huge, but I have to say that Pete's University Cafe has better gyros, which is strange because they are supposed to specialize in them here. Ah well. I really like the fact that they have pellet ice, which is hard to come by.

I always order their lamb/beef gyro plate and their Greek salad. It's usually really good but the dressing is really oily. I got it on the side and it was 95 % oil..ewww. One time, they gave me the skimpiest salad ever. This was an $8 salad...it was like 10 pieces of lettuce, one olive and one slice of cucumber. I called back and complained because I always order this dish and this time..it sucked bad. The manager was trying to make excuses..and I never did get my salad that I've ordered and paid for. Not sure about this place anymore.....it's a hit or miss. Their prices has gone up but the quality has suffered.

The food is really good - greasy but good; however, the waitress really stole the show...she's their oldest and longest serving waitress. We were tired after flying across country and we must have looked it. She was so warm and really took care of us. Based on her TLC, my husband and I will definitely return. It was customer service like we've never seen.

Three of us tried Pete's Gyro Place for the first time this morning. We've tried the other Pete's joints (including Greektown and Pete's Kitchen) and we all agreed that Pete's Gyro Place had the best breakfast of the three. The atmosphere is pretty basic -- two smallish rooms with tables and a few booths and a row of counter seats. The decor is nothing special (or interesting). The service was friendly, quick and efficient. And most importantly, the food was very, very tasty. The pancakes were some of the best I've had - light and fluffy, sweet but not too sweet. The gyros breakfast pita was tasty and filling. And the potatoes were sliced thin, cooked just right with very little oil. All in all, a great inexpensive breakfast.

Took my daughter for lunch there. Mmmmmm Good! We loved the food, our waitress was helpful, atmosphere is down to Earth. One of the waitresses been in this place for 25 years! If you plan to come here make sure you don't eat anything for about 24 hours before. The portions are huge and tasty! You can't eat it all but you feel bad about leaving something on the plate because it is too good. I've been coming for the last 1 years and will come as long as either one of us around.

A standard greek breakfast place. The many regulars make you feel you are walking on a treadmill. That's cool. Excellent Breakfast Burrito Supreme: Eggs, potatoes, bacon, tortilla, chile, plus sour cream, tomatoes and lettuce: Perfect. Waitresses have been here forever.Back in the Eighties, I used to see Alan Berg perched on a counter stool here. This restaurant is running on automatic. Good food, good service. The Hash browns covered with green chile is just about perfect. A bowl of green chile with tortillas will take your breath away. A respiratory experience. June 20,2008 Brookie, the fine, tall and wonderful, intelligent, charming and exceptional waitress-is gone.Just-Gone. She spoke gringo-Spanish with the kitchen staff. She was friendly and warm. She made this place : Special. Gone. Maybe I'm "gone" as well.....

Wow! The food here is fantastic! And huge! I got Dino's plate, and the salad was much more than I could eat, but delicious with the olives, feta, and dolmades. The souvlaki and gyros were very tasty, and came with tender pitas and tzatziki sauce. I'm almost never in this neighborhood, but now I have an excuse! (Well, 2 excuses if you count the heavenly bakery next door!)

Gone down hill big time. For those of us that know what a good gyro is supposed to taste like. I had been going to this restaurant consistently for the past year and the food has been worse each time I have been. French fries aren't difficult! Why are they ALWAYS soggy and rubbery? A good gyro isn't about putting as much meat as you possible can on it and smashing it together with massive pieces of onion and one little piece of tomato. I wish I knew what the rest of you were eating here because I wouldn't wish one of these gyros on my worst enemy.

shoot.....I'm having a hard time with this one. My meal was a two and a half star meal, however I think if I ordered something different it would have improved drastically. The chili that smothered my burrito was barely warm...bleck....pork green chili that was almost gelatinous. Moving past that I would say I would go back seeing how good everything else looked. Gyro breakfast sandwich here I come!

You know...I life this caf...and it IS on account of the Greek Food. Also, because it is on COLFAX--and that is just HOTT. This is the place you come with your buddy Audra who is a vegan, but at the time was just veg, so you can share the appetizer place which features hummus, tzatziki, dolmas, fires, and pita bread to a fault. You may also enjoy Pete's on account of the Greek waitress, or because there are no other customers, so it is quite...romantic....for the two of you. Think stainless steel paradise mixed with yogurt flavors and an all-night diner feel. (!)

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Tasty, basic Greek fare.
(3)Julie C.

(5)Florence S.

(3)Julie I.
The hash browns here are my life. Get them extra crispy with a side of feta. It is a diner. It is old school. Don't get the coffee (unless u like 1950's bad coffee), other than that...HUGE portions, great Greek food. Affordable.
(5)Aaron T.
(4)Lindsay A.
Nom nom, love this place! Thanks for being so close to my house! The gyro/portions are so big! The taziki sauce is awesome as well, not too dilly, JuST right! And plenty of it! I'll go back time and time again!
(5)Chelsey D.
(4)Neil D.
(5)Jesse N.
(4)mike g.
Great gyros. Sit at the bar
(5)Carly H.
We stumbled upon this place and they have an amazing breakfast and lunch menu! Make sure you're hungry! The servings are huge!
(5)Mai Y.
(4)Adam P.
(5)Tom N.
Super easy place to stop in for n inexpensive lunch or dinner. We ordered Dino's plate which could easily have fed three adults!
(4)Steven W.
New Gyro place in Broomfield which had a pretty tasty Gyro. I also got some stuff to go for eating later and all was pretty tasty. They had just opened the day before I visited so you could tell they were breaking in the ordering system but all in all a good place for some tasty mediteranean eats...
(4)Sarah H.
(5)Agi D.
Food was good, especially their tzaziki. The place needs an upgrade badly. Will be back for the food but i think a renovation would make this place way better.
(3)Van G.
Pete's serves one of the best breakfast in Colorado!
(5)Tom M.
(3)Starlette A.
Best Greek food ever!! Awesome service! Just fine good!! Go eat some!!! Had the gyro plate! Potatoes were divine! Really very tasty!!! So satisfied!!
(5)Charles K.
Meh. Service was poor and uninterested in helping (menu dropped on table without comment, told to enjoy by waitress as she walked away after slapping down plate on table). Food was mediocre at best. Won't be coming back.
(2)Rich S.
(5)Felicia R.
After eating a great meal here you can go literally next door and get dessert at the Greek bakery.
(5)Joshua W.
I enjoy Grecian food so I try it everywhere I go. Even though Pete's is a bit of a drive from where I live,.I make the trip regularly and especially when I get together with family.
(5)Lawrence C.
My wife and I ate at Pete's Gyros Place last Thursday, November 13, 2014. This was our second time eating there. Food was great and plentiful. Price was right. I highly recommend eating there, if one is on Colfax Avenue in the downtown area of Denver, CO.
(5)Sean M.
(3)Gabriel M.
(2)Skip S.
The BEST Gyros in Denver!!!!! Friendly service... Highly recommend this place... I had the gyro melt on grilled rye... my partner had the breakfast gyro... both were stellar!!!!
(5)Chris D.
(5)Staxx R.
(3)Jason M.
Amazing gyro and souvlaki. I can recommend there platter for less than 20$ it will feed a family of 4 no problem and comes with a big beautiful Greek salad. -1 for dated atmosphere and and Colfax location. They have takeout so enjoy!
(4)Jordan P.
(5)Daniel D.
In town for the week and scouted around for some greek. Very happy with the find. The food was very good, and the waitresses were helpful and cute :)
(5)Katie J.
Very friendly staff and the manager is very personable. Food is consistent, traditional with hearty portions. Living in "Greek town/ E. Colfax" I love all of the Pete's restaurants, and love to support them as local establishments.
(5)Lizi C.
(5)Alissa R.
Opa!
(4)Hailey K.
(5)John D.
Still the best Greek food in town. Go for the food, the service, the music and the amazing low prices. I still vote for a refurb of the bathroom. I will return! :-)
(3)Denver B.
Enjoy.
(4)Joelle J.
As a longtime Greek food fan I wasn't expecting much when I walked in, but was quickly made a believer! Food was awesome - got the gyros player - and reasonably priced for dinner and in terms of portion size. Service was friendly and quick and the tzatziki was among the best I've ever had.
(4)Vicki P.
(4)Tara L.
Great portions. We got the Grecian platter and have lots of left overs. The staff was super friendly; it felt like a small town diner. I would definitely come back.
(5)Chelsea M.
Got the gyro sandwich and friend got soup and Greek salad. Not the best gyro I've ever had but not the worst. Soup was very delicious though.
(3)Jeffrey M.
This place nails it on service and quick great Greek food goodies.................... Have only dined inside once,, but have made several pick up's for our workplace for over 5 people at a time....... and guess what ??? Perfect every time !!! No mistakes and tasty goodness..................
(5)Rodney V.

(5)John B.
(4)Chelle T.
(4)JT D.
YUMMY!
(5)Stephen K.

(5)Justin A.
(4)Melissa L.

(3)Joseph G.
I have been coming here for years to eat and I must say the best gyros in town. I had gyros at an other place not so good got more salad than gyros will not be going there again. So if you want great gyros go to Pete's Gyros Place and enjoy.
(5)Mary W.
I've had better... The gyro was dry! Ask them to but the tziki sauce directly on the gyro!
(4)Melissa M.
(5)David P.
(3)Caleb B.
Quite bummed there was no falafel, there normally is at places like this. Don't go here if that's what you are wanting. Ended up getting a salad in a pita, with a side of French fries?? French fries????? lol Probaly won't be going back here...
(2)Lisa O.
(3)Shawn R.
(5)April D.
(5)Adam S.

(4)Michael W.
(4)Brian Z.
(5)Natasha A.
(4)Eric J.
Best Gyro Sandwich in town. Tzatziki sauce is phenomenal. Prompt service and the fresh ingredients make it a must stop!
(5)Corie R.
Go here!
(5)Janeen D.
(1)Tim S.
Hmm... maybe that's why the waitress stole my $1.50
(1)Jacalyn Y.
(5)Pam B.
A must go to place when we are visiting our daughter and son-in-law in Denver. The food is good, just hate to have to wait so long between visits.
(4)Dean S.
(4)heather s.

(5)Lacey M.
(4)Jill B.
(2)Bryan M.
(4)Yowza A.
I got Bud's salad with chicken kabob. It rocked with flavor and freshness, and enough to feed two! Very nice.
(4)Art M.
This is a good place for Greek food! you will not be disappointed, the Gryos are very very tasty and large portions! you will not able to finish it. Many times after eating here I have leftovers, due to the large portions. Their Greek sampler it's awesome!... It's consistently delicious every time we go there.
(5)RB B.
Get here. Just had the best gyro west of Chicago. The place was hopping for dinner, going back for breakfast. Plates fresh, tasty and, ah, generous. A cafe vibe with staffers who treat you as friends and family.
(4)Alden C.
This is one of my favorite gyros places around! It also helps that they are open even on the major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. So if you are single and have no where else to go for the holidays at least you can get a good gyro! Yep been there done that!
(5)Melissa H.
(4)Jodi A.
(5)Brie O.
(4)Ryk M.
(5)Dale P.
(4)Rachel G.
(4)S Y.
Euro sandwich was huge and hit the spot. The mousaka was delicious with the fluffy bechamel on top. Yum.
(5)Jessica P.
(4)GRiffin f.
Ahh. this place reminds me of ditching school at east high school and getting some of the best greek food in town.
(5)Anastasia B.
(4)Chelsea S.
(3)Erin S.
The food is really good - greasy but good; however, the waitress really stole the show...she's their oldest and longest serving waitress. We were tired after flying across country and we must have looked it. She was so warm and really took care of us. Based on her TLC, my husband and I will definitely return. It was customer service like we've never seen.
(4)Jen G.
(4)Tatyana G.
(5)d t.
(3)Robert H.
(4)Eric S.
(2)Mona L.
Mmmmm....the gyros sandwich and the suvlaki are delicioius!!!!!! Our family has been going here for over 20 years. Yummy yummy for our tummys!!!
(5)Brye L.
shoot.....I'm having a hard time with this one.
(3)Penelope W.
