I hope this place stays open forever. We want last night at about 8:45pm, and of course it was open and of course some old Greek guys were hanging out drinking coffee. The cookies and pastries are SO unique. Each one is delicious in its own, completely different way. My favorite choice are the Melomakarona or the honey-soaked, super-moist cookies with walnuts on cop and a slight orange peel essence. They are deliciously sweet and have such an interesting flavor. Their sesame and almond cookies are also top-notch, as are the powdered-sugar covered dry almond cookies. As for their pastries, baklava is awesome, but so is the not-so-great looking cream puff. It is AWESOME. So much delicious vanilla cream in a great shell. The Napoleons are also fantastic--such light, crispy dough lined with cream layers. How do they make these so good?? No idea; but I hope they keep making them forever. It's also always the same Greek woman working behind the counter. She's nice once you get to know her :) I'll be back, as always...

One of the best bakeries in town. Staff is great, the goods are amazing and delicious, and it's kind of homey-feeling inside. I like coming here, I like what I get here, and I have never had a bad experience.

This little Greek bakery is a MUST TRY!!! My boyfriend and I wandered in one evening while on a walk and the owner, Paulina, was very sweet and ready to help us. After looking through all the amazing desserts we realized neither of us brought our wallets. She must have heard us talking and immediately offered whatever it was we wanted to try, no charge. We left feeling humbled and excited about the Lemon Cake she gave us. The Lemon Cake was hands down the most incredible cake I have ever eaten, moist and perfectly lemony! We returned the next morning to sing her praises and pay her for the cake we enjoyed the night before. It was probably around 11am and she had just taken a warm cinnamon nut cake out of the oven and recognizing us, offered us a piece of that cake! We obliged and would have been fools to say no, and as with the Lemon Cake it was moist and nothing short of incredible. We offered to pay for both pieces of cake but she would only accept payment for one, smiling the whole time. We ended up ordering a whole Lemon Cake for Christmas dinner and my family was floored at how amazing it was. The whole cake was somewhat pricey, but totally worth it for special occasions, and your friends and family will fight over the last piece. Bottom line, EVERY TIME we return, we have similar experiences. This place and Paulina make you feel like you are in your new Greek mom's kitchen.

I just go in here and point. The pastries/cakes/ whatevers are ALL DELICIOUS. Last time i bought $30 worth of deliciousness, a double shot of espresso, and stared admiringly at the table of old men yelling at each other in Greek over coffees and confections until they noticed. Then i left. They even had newspapers in Greek.

Decadent and delicious at a reasonable price. Take your pick; everything I have tried here has been fantastic. Tiramisu: I judge all other tiramisu compared to this one, yes, it's THAT good. Baklava: Flakey, chewy, and goody in all the right places. Not bitter from the walnuts. Lemon cake: Light and rich, but not too tart or sour. Mocha cake: Not my favorite, but my husband had no problem eating it all... and he doesn't even like coffee. They also have Greek coffee, espresso, and bottled beverages. I would have no problem taking my grandmother here for coffee and dessert when she comes to town, and that means a lot in my book.

The products range from as good as it gets mind-glowingly delicious, to not as exciting. The pies such as cheese, and cheese and spinach are ridiculously good. The eclairs are some of the best I have ever eaten. The eclairs do vary in size from day to day, which is a little inconsistent. I wasn't as big a fan of some cake item. Overall I love, love, love! They sell bread and cookies too.

I was craving a pastry, and my boyfriend hopped on Yelp to find a new place to try. Yelp didn't let us down. Omonoia is a small, cozy space with a big selection of pastries. Our treats and coffee were brought out on a silver platter, and we were also given water in a glass bottle. Those little touches made our treats even more of a treat. I had the milopita, an apple pie pastry that's made with phyllo dough, and a blueberry filled chocolate dipped cookie with a Greek coffee. I took up the offer to have the milopita heated, but won't next time. The pastry was heated in the microwave, which warmed the pastry, but made the phyllo chewy. In my ideal world, Omonoia will get a convection oven and reheat pastries in that. This was my second time having Greek coffee, and it's not really my thing. It tastes metallic to me and has a sludge-like looking substance at the bottom of the cup. I'll try another drink next time. The baklava pieces are quite large. My boyfriend got one, and it was good. My favorite item was the blueberry filled chocolate chip cookie. I loved that cookie and immediately wanted to try more cookies (there are lots to choose from!), but decided to wait until my next visit. I'll definitely be back!

This place was right across the street from where I spent a week in Denver. I must say I'm happy/sad that I waited until nearly the last day to check this place out. I'm happy because I'm sure I would have eaten far more pastry than normal had I gone in earlier, and sad for the same reason. I sampled the cannoli and their version of biscotti (I forget what they called them). Both were excellent. This place is a step back in time to when folks went out for coffee and real baked-on-premises pastries. Next time, I'll make sure to stop in again.

I love it. Great little locally owned bakery. The back two tables are usually occupies by old men playing cards. I'm not familiar with the names of desserts they have, but I've tried about 5 different kinds. All very delicious. The first time of the five times I've been here, I was excited to see the lady behind the counter wrapping up my goodies in wax paper like a little present. The little touch was all I needed to know that they are old school and the real deal.

This is such a cute little bakery! A friend of mine recommended this place to me and I decided to give it a try since I've never really been to a Greek bakery. I got a baklava and a bunch of different cookies. The Baklava was so rich, and a little bit too sweet, but I shared it with a friend to cut back the guilt. It was definitely nutty and got the honey all over, which was delicious with the flaky pastry. The cookies were all really great as well. I've also heard good things about the cakes and braided bread, which I will definitely come back to try!

I'm sorry Yelp. I've let you down for so many years. I've been coming to this bakery since I was a weeee little girl and only now did it occur to me that I must review this bakery. For the record, nothing that I write about this bakery will fully convey just how amazing this little bakery is. You will need to try it for yourself. All the cookies are amazing. I love every single one of them. The chocolate dip fruit filled cookies are always a delight. I usually also get one of the powdered sugar cookies. The macaroons are perfection. Almond cookies are consistently tasty. There is a little lemon cakey/cookie thing that I only recently discovered and this may be my favorite. I'm more of a cookie monster so I don't have much experience with some of the more gourmet desserts that they also serve. I"m sure they are amazing though. The baklava is hands down, unequivocally the best I've ever eaten. End of story nothing more to say. They give you an enormous piece for $3. The only thing left is for you to try it yourself. My parents go bizerk for the egg custard. Seriously bizerk. I'm not an egg custard person myself, but I do have to admit, it's good egg custard. The prices are all very reasonable. The other day we walked in and got desert for 7 people for $20. Actually it was for 3 of us, but it could have fed 7. We just love it that much.

Omonoia Greek Bakery (OGB), I heart you in many many ways I wish I could have more... Went here with N, on Friday September 14th 2012, after a not so stellar trip to one bakery close-by this establishment. When we arrived at OGB, My Oh My... the goodies of pastries, sweets, cookies GALORE made my heart skip abit.. for this case its more than my tummy goes rumbling, and Salivate aka Drooling To The Max. Which to choose, which to choose, so many goodies to choose.. But these were what I opt for that early morning : * 6 Cookies shaped into "shells" sandwiched with Jam, one end dipped in chocolate and dusted with powedered sugar. * 1 Slice of Strawberry Cake * 1 Slice of Lime Cake * 2 Spanakopita (Spinach Pastry) * 1 Baklava All my loot cost $23.53. I like all of the goodies I purchased from OGB. While N opt for the Greek Napoleon ($3.25). N like her order of Napoleon. Might return again to OGB with Hubs either to purchase more items or perhaps have a bite or simple lunch in the near future. @136/2012

Living in Cyprus/Greece for six months turned me into an addict of all the delicious Mediterranean treats no one in the US can manage to recreate. Omonoia is my best option for said treats, aside from stowing away on a plane bound for the Greek islands. The price point is perfect. I grabbed goodies for a friend's birthday party and walked away with a box of treats for under $15. Cookies, creamy pastries, and gluten free almond treats abound. There is something for everyone here and you won't break the bank trying to satisfy a variety of tastes. Oh and the bread! WOW! Walking in my body went straight to food coma status just from the smell of the freshly baked loaves. The owner doesn't speak a ton of English, but she doesn't need to. Yes, I am going to pull out a corny line -- Smiles are universal. You will be welcomed with lots of smiles here :) Last thing...have you had an authentic FRAPPE? Because they have them here. Not only are they delicious but they'll give you enough of a caffeine jolt to run a few marathons in an afternoon if you're so inclined.

Omonoia is hands down, my favorite places for dessert in Denver. We have been going there since I was a small child. I no longer live in Denver but make a point to drop by whenever I am in town. We were visiting just last week, and the food has not changed, it's still phenomenal. Traditionally, my family has always stuck with the galaktoboureko which is a custard like pastry/pie. Growing up, my siblings and I would often replace birthday cake for a slice of galaktoboureko. While in Europe a few years ago we made a point to try the galaktoboureko in Athens; we figured it had to match up. It didn't. Omonoia is better. A couple of years ago, my wife wanted to try something else so she tried out the almond cookies, they are also superb. Really I should try some other things there but every time I go I have a hard time straying from the galaktoboureko.

Everything I've had here has been very good. I loved the previous owners who gave me a dollar off because I didn't have as much as I thought. They were very nice. One time I went in with a friend of mine who is Greek and she tried to speak Greek to them and found out they weren't Greek. The new owners have spruced it up and put in a coffee machine, but they didn't know what a mocha was. Anyhow, the pastries and service are very good.

I really wanted to like this place a lot. The words "Greek Bakery" normally make my heart go pitter-patter, and my dad had rave reviews from when he used to come here years ago when he was working in Denver. He told me to look for the little man with the white hair, and that he would surely remember him. Well, I came in here for lunch today and it was a Russian woman running the place. I ordered a spanakopita (spinach pie), tiropita (cheese pie), baklava, and melomacarona. The portions were large, but the spinach and cheese pies were taken from the display case to a microwave for 45 seconds or so, then brought to my table. Needless to say, the phyllo was not crispy at all. The spinach filling was good but had an odd hint of flavor--I think there was a lot of pepper in it. The cheese fillng was decent, but again, if the whole thing is soggy it's no good. The desserts were better...the baklava had TOO much gooey honey, but I'm sure some people like it that way. The melomacarona (molasses cookies) were really tasty. I guess my concern was nothing really tasted terribly fresh, so I'm not sure how often they make new batches of everything. Since it was a bakery, I'm sure some of the other pastries, like the bread or other cookies, were probably pretty good, but if you're going to get the pies, I recommend you get them to go and put them in the oven. Cash only.

I was in the Denver area last week. I stopped by the bakery last week and bought baked goods before flying out to Hawaii. Service was great by owners. Baked goods were delicious. My wife and/or I stop by the bakery when we are in the Denver area. I highly recommend the Greek bakery.

You know that craving that you want baklava at 7pm, yeah if this place still has their lights on, go in. Of course they were out of baklava that late but the kataifi looked similar. And man was it awesome! A phyllo dough rolled around honey, shredded wheat and I think there were nuts in there too. It wasn't too sweet and the phyllo was so light and crispy. They had a of other cookies and pastries, but even if I see baklava there next time, it's going to be hard to say no to the kataifi.

One of my favorite Saturday late morning activities is stopping into Omonoia either before or after eating at Pete's Gyros Place next door. The owners are usually there to help out and they are so sweet. When I'm being a really good gluten-free girl, I go for the almond cookies - really nice texture reminiscent of a macaroon, chewy gooey goodness. I've had the Canoli in the past and it was just okay. The baklava...oooooh is it incredible. Pro-tip: Order an extra piece or five, put it in the fridge over night (and for up to a week!!!!) and cut off a little piece here and there - it stays crispy on the top but the honey kinda sorta hardens and it turns into this amazing textural delight. I love walking in on Saturdays and seeing old men drinking coffee and playing cards. Sometimes there are a few other customers ahead of me but I just bide my time people watching or ogling the daily selections.

What a very neat little place. Went to find out what's appropriate for a Greek Christmas we're attending. The woman (owner) was more than helpful, very friendly, many useful suggestions. I'm a lover of pastries, what can I say. Ever since discovering this great little local Greek bakery, I have been going there at least once a week. I love the fact that they stay open relatively late, even on weekends, and the lady who usually works there is super nice and accommodating. The selection of pastries is consistent - from delicious sweets like honey cookies, turnovers, baklava and various chocolate pastries that I can't remember the names of, to more savory things like spinakopitas and cheese pies - there's always something tasty I can take home. Everything I've tried at Omonia Bakery is delicious, although my favorites are probably spinakopita and the pineapple and cream-cheese turnovers. Yum!

I came here with my sister due to our obsession with "Greek delights", after walking by it countless times, she drives by it everyday to and from work, and after countless "I want me some baklava" conversations. I ate some custard pie some spanikopita, and of course some baklava. Well I liked it and ate it all. I think what I like most about this place is the idea of it. I like bakeries, I like Greek bakeries, I like the family feel. The food was mostly, our baklava was sweet and had great flavor but was a little tiny bit hard, I don't have anything to compare the custard pie to so I will leave that one alone, and despite being warned we had our spanikopita warmed and it was mushy but nonetheless delicious! I will definitely come back and I don't really even care if I get hard baklava again because I guess I have just decided to embrace this little place and all of its flaws.

Omonia Bakery has the best spanakopita, baklava and little greek cookies and desserts. I never eat in (but if you do you'll feel like you are in Greece), but can't tell you how many times the spanakopita has been a major component of my meal at home. Of course you would never microwave it, just pop it in the oven for a few minutes and it's gold (or eat it cold). Another place that is open on holidays. Great food!

We walked by here last night right at closing time and the man (owner ?)still invited us inside. Being that I have worked in restaurants I know what it is like to get that one last minute customer when all you want to do is go home. I figured I would just order something real quick so they could close up. When I liked at the pastry case I was blown away! So many delicious choices! We bought the eclair, a lemon cake slice, and another chocolate pastry and they were all GLORIOUS. I will defiantly be back. Not just for the pastries; the man and his coworker (perhaps his wife?) were kind enough to let us in after closing. I look forward to supporting this place more often. Thank you!

I sampled the cannoli and their version of biscotti (I forget what they called them). Both were excellent. This place is a step back in time to when folks went out for coffee and real baked-on-premises pastries. Next time, I'll make sure to stop in again.

This is the best bakery ever. Bought the honey cookies and also the almond cookies. We have also purchased hot from the oven bread.

Thank you!
