We all know what Old Chicago is about. mediorce schlock at medium price points. Average pizza, average everything really. The slugggardly waitress pushed us to the pizza bar for lunch which we refused. I had a servicable burger, but the frustration is that when you go someplace for lunch, you don't want to wait ten minutes to get the check , ten minutes to get it picked up , and ten minutes to get it procesessed. I was almost late for 1pm meeting across the street. Now I know why she pushed to me to the pizza bar: she wouldn't have to do her job.

Pretty bad. And they have competition from a similar one up the street. This looks to be in the newer, smaller format and looks to have just recently opened. Staff was ho-hum at the door. There was only 1 person working my section at lunch while 2 others were off gossiping about a baby shower and going into intricate terms about giving birth. I mean, please, do you have to discuss all that when there are diners around trying to eat? Ok server if not overly friendly. Took him a while to get my drink order and then once the food came he never checked back with me until I was finished. That meant he never asked for drink refills or dessert. Oh well, lost tip income on his behalf I suppose. Honestly, I wouldn't travel back here again. It's a bit out of the way and my experience was pretty underwhelming. I'll stick to the one on 120th where they seem happy to serve me.

I liked what I ordered (just a burger) and they didn't mess it up. My buddies pretty much made a pizza from scratch with alfredo sauce instead of regular old pizza sauce. Then they went nuts with toppings. They would suggest that and eat it all over again. The waitress was nice and good lookin. Plus, you can't forget all the kinds of beer they have.

Went for happy hour. Thorough beer list--about 100 or so. 20 on tap. Everything you'd expect as far as atmosphere goes, super corny and tacky. Service was A-OK. I got some buffalo chicken tenders, they were surprisingly solid. I'll probably come here once in awhile just to grab a quick brew with a coworker or pal. Nothing to write home about, but it wasn't offensive or anything.

This Old Chicago marks the spot where I have had the absolute worst pizza of my life. I got the NY style pizza. The name is a ruse, a farce, because it was nothing like NY style pizza since it was complete CRAP! The crust was oily and stiff, the cheese was clumpy and gross, and the whole pizza itself tasted as if it was rolled around in salt. The other times I have been there were ok though.

One word for Old Chicago...Bland I've had very good Chicago deep dish pizza and this place is not one of them. I only come here for the brews, not the food. As they have a plethora of micros to choose from.. As for the food products their horrible. The "calzones" to the pizza is bland, I've had better frozen pizza.i.e, California Pizza Kitchen. I tried the buffet to see if they had any other pizza product that I would like here, everything is gross, even the salad tasted old. Their dough is always undercooked, the sauce is sour and does not have the proper seasonings.. I think the only thing folk like myself come here is just for the brews.. My two cents...

Been in here a number of times... And although I like it, to me it feels like a pizza hut that serves beer. The food is pretty chintzy, the pizza's a bit flavorless... And the last time I was in here, the service wasn't very good. Beers are still OK... And sometimes they have good specials. Still a good location... And they're open late which is awesome.

The fried pickles are the worst I've ever had. If you can find the pickle amongst all the batter, it's a sandwich pickle that you buy at the grocery store. YUCK... the entrée I had was just ok. I probably won't be back. The other two restaurants in the same area were packed and we went here because it wasn't.. explains why..

It's old C's. Consistent food, good pizza, nice drink deals.

Not only does the food and service suck, this restaurant openly allows smoking on their patio where they serve food. Do they not realize this isn't optional, it's against the law? Way to make a crappy place crappier, Old C.

After reading the reviews I was kind of scared to eat there, but I gotta say both myself and my girlfriend were very surprised! I had a mini appetizer and a sampler, both were very good and didn't take long at all. she had a antipasto salad and loved it. Looking forward to going back. Pizza looked and smelled amazing and will be getting that next time.

Terrible service. Have been here twice around 11:30 to grab some $2 pizzas. Both times the server told me the kitchen was closed and on top of that there were no more pizzas left. So I believed her and swallowed my pride and ordered some beers. A few minutes later I get my beer order and it's wrong! All I get is a sorry. No fix no nothing. Not even a minute after I see people's food at other tables coming out. Kitchen closed my butt. I see our server the very same who told me there was no pizzas. Servin them up to people all over. I've been to other old chicagos far later than 11:30 and had no problem. Whoever manages this place needs to find a new career path.

So we went here after a long trip and we thought hey pizza. We went and sat down with our 3 month old and the girl came quickly to take our order. Then we waited, and waited...I'm not sure if they over heard me say something about it or if they saw me check in on yelp but then ended up bringing us free nachos (which were good) but then the box she brought us didn't fit our food and I ended up leaving annoyed. The one downtown we've eaten at went much more smoothly for us. Yea I'd get their pizza again but maybe....to go?

Been back a few times since our first visit. I'm glad to say that the issues we experienced are fixed. Pizzas on the buffet are fresher and plenty of variety most of the time. I do wish there were more thin crust pizzas but they do an overall good job. Good place for lunch.

Brought my family here to have lunch and we ordered some pizza and calzones. Took 15 min to get our salads. Waitress was training someone and it took 10 minutes for her to greet us and take our drink order. Never saw her after that. Her trainee brought our salad and our food that took 40 minutes during lunch when we were the only people in the restaurant. Maybe she just gave her trainee the sink or swim option and she sank

Always great service and smiles. I am the type to sit at the bar and watch the game or throw a few back with the other regulars. :) I love the world beer tour! Trying new beers is always fun and getting kick backs for it is never bad :) there is always something on one if there 7 televisions! Happy hour during week is never a bad deal :) food and drink specials! Love the burgers and apps. Not toooo shabby for a chain :)

So I have been doing the Beer Tour at Old Chicago sense I can Remember "so for a few years now". I really enjoy the tour and enjoy drinking. Over here the staff also enjoys drinking. While I was here with a buddy of mine from work, the bar tenders were bragging about getting drunk and coming into work still effed-up. Now I don't mind nor judge people who drink or talk about it at work, but be professional about it and do that in the kitchen not in front of your guests. Its unprofessional and IDK about your fellow yelpers, but I don't want anywho who's screwed-up making my meal... With that being said, the Calzones were Very good, and the bar tender that I had was very knowledgeable on his beers... If it wasn't for the unprofessionalism I'd probably have given them a 4-5 stars.

I've never had a bad experience at an Old Chicago before tonight. I ordered something to go and when I arrived my order was never placed in the system. The hostess found my name and order in the to go book but it didn't make it to the computer or the kitchen. I understand that mistakes happen, especially when a restaurant is busy, and so I wouldn't normally complain but I was treated very rudely, like it was my fault.

Normally we have a great experience here..tonight for the st Patrick's tour kick off..they messed up or pizza order twice..but Tracy our server took care of us and we actually ended up taking two pizza's home for just the cost of our beer. This place takes care of its patrons.. Brian the manager is a great guy too. Be sure to tip skyler, eric, james, Tracy and Brian well..they are great servers in the bar area :)

This place is terrible. We tried to go here tonight around 3:45pm to get a table for 3. Superbowl Sunday, I called ahead to see if there was a wait. She said there is no wait. So we went over there (less than a minute later because we were in the parking lot). The hostess tells us it's going to be a few minutes. Ok no problem. The waiting area is getting stacked with people and the dining room is empty. I walk back to use the bathroom and notice that one half of the restaurant is EMPTY. No one is being sat down In 1/2 the restaurant! We wait about 25 minutes and I hear the hostess telling some poor guy that the OTHER hostess didnt put his carryout order in, and shes very sorry but it all has to be entered again. Another 20 min for him to wait. We eventually left, as there seemed to be no manager on duty and a restaurant full of employees that refused to sit a packed waiting area at any of the many empty tables. Save your time and frustration and go elsewhere.

Food isn't the greatest in the world but it doesn't claim to be either and the pizza is actually really good. But if you are a beer connoisseur this is the place be they have at least 110 different beers at any time and they are all oso delicious.

In the hub of Thornton. If there is a hub..lol.. What we like best here? They have a whole shelf of ice in a clear glass shelf. Yes, a whole shelf, where they ice all glasses for beer. Now, many beer snobs (yes, there are beer snobs) say beer should be not ice cold. Me? I love it ice cold! And this is the place. Giant selection of taps as do all Old Chicago's. Their small size pizza is my favorite. It is on the happy hour menu.. 4-6 M-F.

Here's the thing: I understand that servers have friends. Said friends will come in to the restaurant. That does NOT mean that you get to sit and chat with friends while ignoring your other tables.

We were visiting from out of town and met up with a local at Old Chicago. Most of the menu was pasta and pizza and given that I eat as a vegetarian 99% of the time it made my choices even more complicated LOL! I ended up getting an apple walnut salad minus the chicken of course and cheese sticks. The salad was HUGE. I ended up only eating like half of it but it was very good and FRESH! My cheese sticks were warm and my water stayed filled. All in all, wasn't anything I would have to come back for, but wasn't bad either. My friend was upset that they no longer have ranch fries. So, hopefully your not looking for those ;-)

Right down the middle, son. A SanFran friend on the way to the airport, another mutual friend and myself managed to squeeze in about 45-60 mins here before he had to bolt to DIA. It was happy hour. They had $2.75 "mini pizzas", about 9-10: in diameter for $2.75 a piece. SF friend and I both ordered mushrooms as our topping, and for under 3 bucks? I can't bitch, it was crisp edges, soft crust, and tasty toppings. They had Coors Winterfest here, which I hadn't had in years and was on tap -- bonus. Our waitress took forever getting back with our bill, despite the fact all 3 of us were trying to use the "Jedi Mind Stare" on her from across the room to bring the freakin' bill -- eventually, my departing friend had to get up from his chair to pay -- inconvenient. Parking was ok, lighting was ok, everything else was merely ok. I wish we'd gone to Mezcal on E Colfax like we'd been discussing, but we were all running late that day...sucks. Anyways...you could do worse, but you could do better, too...I recommend happy hour.

Went here a week ago for dinner, got the deep dish pizza deal for $20. Sadly they had an issue with the dough in the oven which greatly delayed our pizza, but they let us know early and made the situation right. Food and service were awesome. A big thanks to our server Anthony, the manager Ashley and the MOD Jeff for fixing the error and making sure this didn't become a one-star experience.

It's a good thing for Old Chicago that I round up stars - I was thinking 2 1/2. Let's face it. Their Chicago-style pizza is awesome, but I never get it because I try to save my calories for the giant beer list. On my most recent visit, I was there with the hubby and his brother. We walked in and noticed there wasn't a soul on the patio. It was such a nice night, we asked if we could sit out there and there was quite a bit of confusion determining if that was going to be ok or not. When we were finally (along with another couple) given clearance, we settled in. Our service was decent. The gal did forget one of our drinks but then remembered it and brought it without charging us. I was thrilled that one of my new favorite breweries (Boulevard) was on tap - a true rarity in these parts since it's a Kansas City company, but unfortunately the beer list was not up-to-date and they had been out of it for some time. Major fail. I would have been fine had it not been on the list, but don't get my hopes up like that, people! My hubby got his standard order: Chicago Seven individual-sized pizza. I think it's gross (too much salty, preservativey meat) but he thinks it's divine. I got the Veggie Seven, thin crust, and tried the "make mine skinny" option which our server described as half the cheese and half the sauce. Better than I was expecting. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken mac 'n cheese which he said was tasty. All in all it was "A-OK" for what it is - a chain restaurant smack in the middle of the suburbs.

The wife and I were regulars here for their happy hour specials. The beer prices were hefty ( I could buy a six pack and then some of whatever micro-brew they had on special after I had two beers) but the food specials I felt evened it out and made it worthwhile. Not anymore. Their current happy hour specials are around a 30-40% percent increase of what they were... 30-40 %. That is ridiculous. personal pizzas used to be 2.69 now they are 4.00. Other appetizers used to be half off now they are one or two dollars off. Their ridiculous price gouging has lost them a customer that was on their way to completing a second beer tour and I do not recommend this establishment anymore.

I'm from the East coast and I've lived in Chicago and I find Old Chicago to have a very decent pie. I usually get their Chicago-style Double Deckeroni and it's very good. The crust is buttery and I enjoy the spicy touch to it. I have found that their dough can be a little under cooked if you don't order it "well done" so I'd encourage you to do so too. Their prices are a little steep ($20+ for a large pizza) but their happy hour is a good value. Also, if you're a drinker, they probably have the best beer selection of any such establishment in town. The staff is nice and the restaurant is clean.

Service: 5 stars. Excellent Atmosphere: 5 stars Excellent, Trivia in the bar area on Thursday night and they **** out drinks with non kid friendly names on menus. I brought my family here and was pleased. Food: 4 stars. This isn't the Chicago style deepdish I was expecting which has the sauce on the top but it was still good. Price: 4 stars. The price was $15 for a very Large Cheese Deepdish which is very reasonable but just adding on 2 toppings tacks on $5. However, they have coupons in the mail for $5 off any meal in the mail sometimes. Different drink specials every day. They also offer takeout and delivery for their pizza.

I used to love your pizza, and I'm not sure what happened recently. I really hope whoever decided to skimp on all the ingredients saves the money they wanted to. It's a shame, I would have gladly paid more for a decent helping of toppings. My daughter had the Mac and Cheese and it was great! But I think a pizza place should serve good pizza. I would compare it to Papa Johns. Both of you are not worth trying it again. The server was good, the pizza was not.....buy a frozen pizza if you want a better pizza.

Walking in a 1am. Old host said how can i help you. Um seat us for 2 please. Oh the kitchen and bar close at 1. You can sit but cant order anything. WHY THE BLEEP are you open until 2 if you do not have a kitchen or drinks after 1. Makes no sense to me horrible will not be back.

What do you say when all the other reviews are basically saying the same thing. It was over a month ago that I went this has been my 3rd or 4th time. So the bartender was friendly not all that attentive. I like the pizzas and a calzone but for the price you might want to try a different restaurant they are on the high side in my opinion. It's hard to tell this one from any of the others that I've been to nothing stands out. Never did see a manager but I didn't have anything to complain about.

I have been to several of the Old C's but at this one we consistently have amazing service. Ashley, Daniel, Rachel, and Rob bravo on the service. Food also always very good.

My husband and I came here the other night for dinner because we live down the street. Even though I really enjoy it here usually, it is just not the same any more. My food had a hair on it and my server was hardly checking up on us. I had to wait a long time before I had the chance to report it. He offered to make a new one but we had already waited long enough for our food and decided to forget it. He comped my dish from our check but that was all. No further action was taken to make it right other than that. We also had to wait a long time after our food arrive to request silverware to eat with. Our appetizer was missing ranch for the veggies but gave up on waiting to ask. We wanted to ask other servers but they were all only passing tables they served and never looked our way. We will not be coming back to this Old Chicago anymore. It is very disappointing.
