We have gotten delivery twice now, and both times it has been excellent! The food arrived quickly and was hot. Very delicious General Tso's chicken and generous portions of soup. The vegetable lo mein was the best I've ever had. This will be our go-to for delivery Chinese food.

I've never really been a fan of Chinese food, but New Dragon might change that. I stopped here the first time on a Friday night for take out because I needed something fast, but didn't want fast food. Enter New Dragon. Parking aplenty because New Dragon is in the same shopping center as Safeway. There wasn't anyone else in the restaurant when I came in, but there were lots of to go orders waiting to be picked up, and the phone was ringing with what I'm guessing were more take out and delivery orders. They have dinner specials like lunch specials, and I got the sesame chicken with fried rice and an eggroll in one of those large square Styrofoam containers. I also got a can of Diet Coke, and the grand total came in under $8. Such a great deal and so much food without a long wait. Yes! The space is small and about what you'd expect from a restaurant in a shopping center. What I didn't expect was getting to see my food prepared. I really liked that. I also really liked the food and not just because I was really hungry. My only quibble is that the food wasn't as spicy as I like although I requested spicy. I liked the food so much that when my boyfriend suggested Chinese food for dinner a couple of weeks later, I didn't try to talk him out of it. When he went in for take out, he didn't see the dinner special option on the menu; I also didn't see the dinner special option on the menu I got with my first take out order. The option was on an in-restaurant menu on my first visit. Maybe it's a new option. Back to the food: He ordered the hot and sour soup, extra spicy orange chicken, and extra spicy Szechuan beef with an order of steamed rice. We liked all of the dishes and had lots of leftovers. The orange chicken had orange rind, which made it even more flavorful. Extra spicy still isn't all that spicy, but the food had more of the kick that I like. I might try ordering extra extra spicy next time. Thanks for getting me excited about Chinese food, New Dragon!

We were worried about ordering from here because a lot of reviews said they were slow, but at 35 minutes from placing the order to it arriving at the door, this was the fastest any order has ever arrived at our place! Be warned: the dishes we ordered were spicy, and both definitely have quite a kick, but that's our style. Overall, very decent Chinese delivery service!

This is not even a good excuse for chinese food. The veggie egg foo young looks like it may have been frozen and I can't even even tell if there are veggies in it. The sauce is gross and too soy sauce-y (egg foo young should be served with gravy, not soy sauce). Anyway, this place is gross, do not order here.

This place is only a few blocks from where I live, so I really want to like it, as it serves up greasy mall-like cheap Chinese comfort food. I've ordered to-go a few times, but this last time was finally when I had enough. In our tofu pad thai I found several chunks of barely cooked chicken. I feel lucky not to have gotten ill (except for the ill feeling of eating dead animal). I hate tossing away food but there was nothing that could be done. Maybe served me right for thinking I could order pad thai from a Chinese restaurant? The couple bites I had were bland and mushy anyway, so even without the unwanted chicken addition, it was awful.

Good food, and the best part is you can order online! (I'm lazy) I usually get sesame chicken and some crab cheese wontons.

I'm addicted to their orange chicken! I only get take out so I'm giving them 5 stars. If I was dining in, the place could use some improvement. But their food is very tasty with reasonably prices.

Fast service, but that's it. I had a great view of the kitchen from where I was seated absolutely everything came out of the microwave. Also the sesame chicken is very dry. Poor experience all the way around.

Everything was terrible. The wonton soup was in beef broth with these tiny shriveled wantons that were inedible. Fried Dumplings were soft and mushy and the fried rice was pretty much white rice with soy sauce on it.

If American Chinese food is your comfort food, then this is the place. They do potstickers right. Staff is awesome - they went to great lengths to make good on an honest mistake in the change.

It's crazy how few good Chinese spots are in this neighborhood. I think I've found my go-to spot. The sesame chicken wings were crazy good! Their sesame sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I've also had that sriracha chicken, which I enjoyed as well. Online ordering makes it super easy for pick-up or delivery.

Although this isn't the best Chinese spot in town, it's better than some others I've been to and it's in the neighborhood. I'll have to agree somewhat with the previous review, though; it wasn't too bad for the price, but it has its downfalls. When I went for lunch, it was $4.00 for 2 main dishes, rice or noodles, egg rolls or wontons and a soda. That's a heck of a deal. The noodles were OK, the Sesame Chicken was over breaded and pretty sweet, and the Broccoli with Beef was pretty tasty and had a nice amount of fresh broccoli. Was it the best? No. Was it filling and satisfying? Yes. I'd go back for a quick lunch sometime, but it won't be my first choice.

Delicious Chinese food! Their lunch specials are a great value, whenever we order two our total is around $11. Large entree with generous side of rice and an egg roll. Also free delivery over $15!

I walked in and the chef came up front and threw a menu at me. He left and then answered the phone. Ten minutes later a women (Who I supposed was his wife) came in the front door and after an exchange in Chinese, she took over the phone conversation. The chef returned to the kitchen without even looking at me. I sat and sat. And then , I left. 15 minutes of my life wasted. Oh did I mention 12 noon I was the only patron there??

Surprisingly good food! Ordered delivery & the food arrived piping hot. Tried the beef and garlic sauce, general tsao's chicken, beef chow fun, vegetable fried rice, and crab wontons. All yummy. The breading on the chicken was a little thick like some reviewers noted, but it wasn't a detractor for me because the pieces were still so crispy. The woman who took my order over the phone & the guy who delivered the food were both very nice too. I will definitely be ordering more food from here.

New Dragon is the best Chinese food in the Highlands/Sunnyside area. I have eaten there 6 times now, and have never been unhappy. Lunch specials are amazing! I WISH they offered a dinner special that included an egg roll like their lunch special. There is a review on here about the owner/chef being mean?...from my perspective...the owner is a very quiet chef, and his family (son and wife) runs the front of house. He cooks like a champ. Don't believe me?....go watch. I witnessed it tonight. He is a fantastic cook!

I'm upgrading to 5 stars because their Singapore noodles are probably the most delicious Chinese food I've ever had.

ordered online from them last night, first time, super fast and very nice delivery guy but the food was terrible; egg roll was a tiny spring roll it was actually tasty, miso wings were AWFUL and the sesame chicken ordered hot was normal frozen sesame chicken with zero spice that any generic chinese crap hole delivers. i will give them another chance and rereview but man i was disappointed, only ate the spring roll and rice threw everything else away along with my $16 + $3 tip. if they werent so fast and polite i would have given them 1 star

I am definitely impressed. Very fast delivery and so good I will not have any leftovers. I tried the fried dumplings, sesame chicken, and crab wontons. Sooo good.

look, you're not gonna believe me (it took me two more visits after my 1st shocking experience) but this place is SERIOUSLY GOOD. I know, seems unlikely. But the prices are good, the quality of the meat and the fresh veggies is very good and the seasoning is very on target. They even have Twice Cooked Pork on the menu, a dish I don't see often out here that every szechuan restaurant in nyc serves. And it was GOOD, really appreciated the big plump chinese mushrooms in it. So yeah, they don't seem to be the most efficient place around (highly recommend phoning order in ahead) but the food makes up for that no problem. Menu states No MSG and from what I've tried I think that's accurate. And the lunch specials at around $6 are a steal.

Great food. I ordered delivery (crab cheese wontons, wonton soup, shrimp chow fun,& egg roll) and was very pleased to find little 2oz. Dixie cups of sweet&sour and creamy hot mustard instead of the packets of the florescent stuff most restaurants provide. My food was tasty and hot, and was delivered ridiculously fast. I'll definitely order from them again.

New management, new menu, and TOTALLY NEW FOOD. They went from "buck a scoop" asian delivery, to excellent food and a great value! Easily my favorite asian delivery I've ever found. Their crab rangoon are now stuffed with filling and are slightly savory, their Beef & Broccoli has tons of fresh veggies and a great sauce, and the beef is high quality and tender and oh so good. I had eaten at the previous owner's place once before, and it was not great. I ended up going back a second time as a last resort, and I sure am glad I did - its not the same place and I've been back all the time now. So if you haven't been here in 2013, definitely give it another shot!

Okay so my husband decided to step outside from our normal delivery spot, China Dragon, and order here. We were SO thankful we did. We ordered sesame chicken, beef & brocolli, lo mein noodles and crab cheese wontons. The sesame chicken was amazing-great quality all white meat and the breading was soft and fluffy and the sauce was just right (not too sweet but not too spicy either). The beef and brocolli was pretty darn good too! The lo mein noodles were so delicious for being just plain lo mein noodles and they were even better when I put soy sauce on them. The wontons were THE BEST wontons I've veer had. They were so fluffy and crunchy and were STUFFED with soft cream cheese filling. The sauce was not your ordinary sweet & sour sauce. It was like an apple cinnamon sauce and it was delicious!! I would definitely eat here again. The only thing I would change is that the entree sizes were a little small for the price. Oh and we ordered for delivery and it took about an hour to get there.

Deeply Meh. The sesame chicken consisted mostly of breading with a strange chemical-sweet flavor and very little chicken to be found buried in the bread. The hubby's garlic chicken was overcooked with very little flavor. Straight out of a jar methinks. There aren't many Chinese options in this end of town, but this one ranks near the bottom of the heap.

New management. Food was great. We got the egg rolls, crab cheese rangoon, chicken friend rice, and general tso's chicken. all was great. the owner threw in some complimentary soup for us while we waited for our order. nice people. best chinese take out place we've found so far in the highlands.

We ordered delivery which took 45 minutes and the food we got was gross. I paid 30 dollars for pork fried rice that tasted old and the pork was gross. The pupu platter contained some ribs that looked over a week old and the shrimp with garlic sauce had a disgusting flavor. Be warned its not good. Never again

I like my Chinese Delivery like I like my women. Easy. Fast, Warm and no surprises. New Dragon met that criteria. I will totally get delivery/take out from them again.

I decided to try New Dragon and was quite amazed at how good it was! Delivery was super fast and everything was still piping hot! Only weird thing was that there was corn in the Egg Drop soup!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
