As a Greek, I can say that this is the best, most authentic Greek food in Denver. No, it's not the $5.99 gyros sandwich that you get from the mall. If you want that crap, go to the mall or a "middle eastern" restaurant. You get what you pay for folks. The service is always friendly and consistently good. Try the lamb sandwich, it's incredible and if you've never tried lamb, it's a great place to start. Sip on a glass of ouzo on the rocks and enjoy the service and atmosphere that only a family owned Greek restaurant can provide. Love these people and can't wait to move back to Denver so I can resume being a regular.

First time here. Great service and beer selections. Had the pork Souvlaki plate with greek potatoes. The pork was pretty tough, slow cooking would fix that. Potatoes were nothing special. The lemon soup was very good. Appitizer of a selection of greek food was not bad. Going to try this place again and try some different food. To be continued...

I ordered the tiropita appetizer and a small greek salad for carry out. Salad was large but since the lettuce was soaking wet, it was not possible to get any of the oil/ vinegar dressing to stick. The prep was very uneven/unprofessional and of the two cucumber pieces I got, one was a 1/4" thick slice and one was a 2"x 2" thick chunk that was too big for one bite. The sliced onions were translucent with age. I did not receive any pita. When I opened the tiropita carryout container, I was hit with a face full of nauseating mexican food grease and immediately threw the entire uneaten dish in the OUTSIDE trash can so it wouldn't smell up my house. Upon calling Monaco Inn, I was told that the tiropita are always prepared in the deep fryer basket with the burritos and nachos. The grease smelled very very old and, based on the sheer volume of grease soaked into the tiropoita, maybe the grease is also not hot enough. In terms of the amount of grease, the closest thing I have come across are the sopapillas at Casa Bonita. It's hard to mess up a clearly pre-frozen pastry that just needs to be heated in the oven but the tiropita were inedible. I was not offered a refund for the inedible food. Not going back.

They offer everything from Lasagna to Enchilada...but, I always get the Greek Salad. It's a nice portion, lots of gyros meat and comes with pita. The service is excellent. You don't go for the atmosphere, but it's a great spot for a tasty lunch.

We had the Giro sandwich with fries. The fries were hot but limp like they had been cold and microwaved. Not good. The sandwich comes with just the gyro meat and a couple of half tomatoes slices no lettuce and less you pay extra. Two sandwiches and two beers cost about $35. Not a good experience.

I never sat down here and only got carry out once. The price was very steep and the quality of food was subpar. My wife and I both kind of looked at each other like WTF? With so many other choices of restaurants in this great city, don't bother. As far as Greek food goes, Yanni's really can't be beat and for the price, it's a way better value than the Monaco Inn.

Heard really good things about this place ve so wanted to try it. To begin they served is two piece of bread room temperature. The butter was ice cold so impossible to spread. When we said we couldn't spread the butter our waitress told us just to do what we can. Mom ordered the French dip. She said it was blah and she had better. I ordered the gyros plate. It was a good size but the meat was dry. Overall we are not impressed and won't be back again. It's too bad

Hit and ok at the Monaco Inn. Service was great. Very atttentive and fast and freindly. Food was great than just ok. The calimari was super good. Fresh and hand made. Cooked to perfection crispy breading and tender meat. See photo. The meal I had the lamb sandwich. It was good but nothing to write home about. The main problem was the ridiculous amount is Swiss cheese that overwhelmed the lamb, peppers and mushrooms. 1/4 of the cheese would have done just fine. This was a shame since the ingredients were fresh and not from a can and shoukd have been shown off. The side was the ridiculous Greek potatos. This was two small bland wedges of potatos that were rubbery and probably sat in the food warmer too long, go with the fries instead. The big issue with this joint is the large menu that includes Greek, American and Mexican food. Stick with the Greek and make it better.

Best Calamari I've had in quite some time! (Bonus points) Service is good. Bottled Greek beers. Lots of different combination platters... Food tastes pretty good. The only drawback is that the prices are a bit high. Overall though, a pretty solid option for a Greek night out.

Dolmades. Tiropitas. Bowl of their lemon chicken soup. I order this every year on my birthday. Love this little place! I have had a few other things off the menu and found it so-so. If you're looking for foo foo food with unnecessary garnishes served on a plate 80% larger than the meal itself, go to Lodo you yuppie. Monaco Inn is straight up grandma's home cookin'. No playin' around. Real, hardy, flavorful Greek food made with love, baby!! YEAH!

I have been coming to Monaco Inn for many years and it has always been my family's favorite Greek restaurant in town. The service is always very friendly, the dining room is comfortable and clean, and the food is good. Excellent avgolemono soup, tyropita, calamari, gyro, souvlaki, and pastitsio. Skip the bland moussaka and greasy greek potatoes. But don't leave without some baklava.

Not so good this time around but not terrible either. It is a great place to meet up with my friends that all live in different neighborhoods. The bar area is quiet and comfortable. I always seem to see someone I know. It has been around for awhile. My parents lived next door another life ago. The Malbec was good at 28.00 a bottle. Houmous is always good more or less. Interesting houmous is served everywhere these days. I cannot remember what combo was ordered but it had different meats. I think maybe it was the presentation that kinda turned me off this time. The fried calamari was tasteless. Because it is centrally located I am sure I will go back. I can have houmous and a bottle of Malbec. I will be just fine.

Not much for decor as this place seems to have dropped off the time train around the 1980's. But if your into Greek food or just classic Greek diner cuisine, this place delivers. Service was very polite and responsive and the food was done well. Surprisingly, the fried calamari had a nice twist with some dill and tasted very fresh. I had the gyro and slovaki plate and I thought it was pretty darn good. This place is a little hole in the wall off of Monaco, but its easy to get to, parking is not a problem, and there is no waiting. Sometimes on Saturday or Sunday morning, you just don't feel like waiting to get breakfast at some of the brunch restaurants out there. If your just in the mood for classic diner/greek restaurant this place is not bad.

My boyfriend and I live in Cherry Creek and rode the cherry creek bike trail to this restaurant. It is setup like a diner. Has all the traditional greek alchohol along with a full greek menu. The hummus appetizer and pitas were delicious. My boyfriend got the monoco combo plate and the pork was so good! The grape leaves were okay. It is a nice greek place to put into our restaurant rotation.

Dang good gyro! My sister leaves pretty close to this place and loves coming here when she is in the mood for a Gyro. I never knew this place was here. It's kind of tucked back in the little strip mall south of the Hobby Lobby on Monaco & Leetsdale. I went to hang out with her and my nephews a couple Fridays ago and she suggested we come here for dinner. We got there around 5ish and it was pretty busy already. As busy as it was, we were in and out of there in under an hour. Great staff, good food and reasonably priced.

We visited here again. Having eaten here many times the staff knows. But the staff has always been pleasant. The owner or family member is always present so issues could be resolved. The atmosphere is that of a neighborhood restaurant. The Greek food is very good. They also have extensive Mexican and Am,erican. I have never tried anything but Greek. Somehow Mexican food in Greek family restaurant. did not seem right. The only meal I had that was not 4 star was a greek combination with pork. The pork was very very tough, favorless. We also went there once for Easter dinner. It is a by reservation meal. The leg of lamb was excellent. It seems the family also has a farm that raises lamb. As aside if visit here be sure to plan to spend time in shopping center behind as they have true Russian Pharmacy, a great International Market, seems from former Soviet Baltic area. The area is very interesting if have time. Fun shopping then back to Monaco for a drink.

Moved to the neighborhood where this place is located. Found it kind of by accident. It's kind of out-of-the-way, so if you're driving on Monaco and expecting to see it, you probably won't. Had no expectations going in. I was hungry and just going to give the place a try. Classy New York-style jazz music playing when I walk in just before 3pm on a Monday, and at an appropriate volume. I wish restaurant would not bother to play music most of the time because of the terrible choices made so often, then it's often too loud. Music is at least 50% of the atmosphere of an establishment in my opinion, and most often for me the music kills it. This is NOT the case at Monaco Inn. I ordered iced tea and spanakopita to start with. I'm from Alabama, where people know how to make iced tea. Monaco Inn gets an A+ for their iced tea. They have hot green tea, if you prefer, but no chai tea, sadly. The spanakopita was superior, the crust soft, crispy, and flaky, the filling on the inside very good, easily some of the best I've had so far. Got the Monaco Inn Plate; pork or turkey souvlaki, gyros, tomatoes, onions, and your choice of a side. I got the turkey souvlaki and French Fries. I had never had much souvlaki which impressed me before the turkey souvlaki here. It must be tried to be believed. Tomatoes and onions were crisp and very fresh. Gyro was about average, but nothing wrong with it. The French Fries are hand-cut there in the restaurant, according to Marie, who served me, and if you like fries, these will make you mouth water. Some of the best fries I've had since Goodfriend's Restaurant before it was assimilated by Annie's Cafe. The rice pudding made me have an orgasm. You HAVE to try some! The rice pudding, that is.....:) Tried some of the Greek wine at the bar which was outstanding. They have a sweet dessert wine you must try. About the bar; I didn't really have drinks this time. But have you ever been to a bar where there's just something about the bar, and you're not really comfortable? The bar at Monaco Inn made me feel like....AHHHHHHHH, I'm home!

This unassuming restaurant off of Monaco south of Leetsdale is one on my family favorites. The restaurant has Greek pictures adorning the walls, a bar area and a main dining area. The avgolemeno soup is delicious and better than many other Greek restaurants. All of the Greek food is wonderful including the gyros, turkey souvlaki, lemon chicken, leg of lamb and lamb shank. Monaco Inn also offers American and Mexican dishes for diners. Some of the staff has been there for years. If working ask for Pete. He is such a friendly older waiter and knows how to take care of his customers. Try it out.

My son took me for lunch yesterday as a belated Mother's Day meal. My family has come here many times & always had excellent food. We arrived at 2pm to a fairly empty restaurant. I ordered the Gyros Plate. Unlike previous meals this one was YUCK. Gyros meat was totally dried out and barely warm. Maybe a tbsp. of red onion pieces. Three thick slices of tomato. I ordered the feta & lettuce for an extra $1. Maybe a tbsp. of feta. Lettuce was limp and sparse. I also had the French fries & I wish they were limp. Instead they were almost burned. Dried out. I gamely ate most of it. I did not tell anyone there because my son was so dang proud of taking me out to eat and he hates when I complain about anything. Had I been paying for it, I would've returned it & left. I know every restaurant has "off" days but this was the entire meal! I don't know what happened to Monaco Inn...new chef??? While the family frequently went here....it'll be quite a while before we go back. Just MHO, but it usually has great food!

I may not be a connoisseur of Greek food, but dinner was damn tasty! For my entree, I had the Monaco Inn plate which consisted of souvlaki and gyro meat topped with chopped, red onion, accompanied with Greek potatoes, pita bread, and tzatziki sauce. The souvlaki was my favorite, hands down. It was the most perfectly seasoned pork I've ever tasted. The staff was friendly and attentive, however, the food does take awhile to come out. I wasn't too impressed with their Greek salad. It was just a pile of iceberg lettuce, a couple of grape tomatoes, a couple of olives, some sliced onion, and a smattering of feta cheese, all doused in some kind of vinaigrette. It was pretty meh. Other than that, everything else was dandy. I think on my next visit, I'll try their hummus.

Walked in around 5 pm to a empty restaurant, two families seated and one person at the bar. Waited at the host stand for 2 minutes while 4 employees walked around, looked at us, and continued to walk around. Not only were we not greeted, but a older family of four came in and the busser walked right up to them when they were BEHIND us directly, and looked at us and said four? to them then sat them. We were completely ignored and I have been a regular here for about a year and typically tip extra because the food is so good. I wasn't even seated and ended up walking out without a word spoken to me. This was my birthday dinner too... I will probably never go here again, sad to say especially because the service wasn't really that good to begin with.

Delicious. Greek food is incredible. The bartender and staff treat you like family. I have been coming here for the last 20yrs and it only has gotten better with age. This place has never let me down and I look forward the next time I end up eating here!

Great place for gyros...About $10 per entree. I've never sat down here; always pick up on my way home but it looks quite nice inside, esp the bar area. The only thing we do not like about their food is the fries are sometimes soggy. BUT the gyros are very delish, calamari is VERY GOOD & so are the dalmas, oh & the gyro salad is very good too! Enjoy!

I have only visited once for lunch. I had the soulvlaki lamb pita sandwich. It comes with a side (had the Greek potatoes). I thought the food was good, but not notable enough to return. Too many onions on the sandwich for my taste. The service was friendly and attentive.

First, the service was great. Shauna was our wiatress and the owner "Mike" was greeting everyone at the door. The patrons seemed to be long-time customers as most of them knew Mike and he knew their name. The food was good and a very good value. The portions are substantial and reasonably priced. We have had the hamburger, leg of lamb, roated chicken and the greek soup. The overall experience was very good, including the food. I would recommend the restaurant.

We enjoy eating here, it's close & the food is always good. The service is consistent & friendly & the owner is always there helping out. The menu has everything from Mexican to burgers & of course the Greek food. I really like the Greek potatoes & spinach pie. It's a nice place to enjoy a quiet, relaxing dinner.

The WORST food on the planet....absolutely! It was so bad that we had to have a "food chaser", ie eat something after the bad meal to take the taste out of our mouths. For starters the Greek salad was ridiculous, a sprinkle of Feta, whiteish lettuce, what kind of Greeks would serve this? The moussaka was really repulsive, brown meat, very greasy, dead eggplant and bad topping, the tzajiki, plastic yogurt with a little garlic...saave yourself, your calories and your stomach. Don't go there.

I consider this to be my new favorite restaurant for when I'm in this area. I originally went for the Greek food, which is incredible, and then tried the Mexican. The green chili was excellent, but the Mexican food was maybe a small notch below the Greek. Finally, I've also tried some of the American food, but it seems the weakest of the three, and is sometimes greasy. My favorites are the gryo meat (plate, sandwich, whatever), anything with the green chili, and the lemon-chicken-rice soup. Excellent! The service has always been superior. There are obviously regulars who come in from the neighborhood. The ambiance is nice too, particularly a large mural of Santorini. I would definitely recommend the Monaco Inn.

I just recently learned about about the Manaco Inn and must say that I enjoyed their soup, and greek potatoes. The atmosphere has a very authentic feel and the service is fabulous!

They have a Greek/Mexican menu that does much better with the Greek side. That makes sense, since it is a Greek restaurant. That said, nothing here has really done much for me. It's a locally owned restaurant, and that's worth something.

This place is mostly good though it is not really exceptional, but the owner's are always around and greet everyone. The spanokopeta is the best other than Yanni's, but nothing else really stands out on the menu. Basically my boyfriend's 83-year-old grandpa with failing tastebuds is the reason that we eat here, while my boyfriend and I who still have our taste buds, prefer Yanni's.

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Excellent food and fantastic service! We eat here often and it's a great place to bring out-of-town guests for a casual experience and good food.

Me and my mom used to come here sometimes with my Grandfather and his friends, Ted and Larry. I always ordered the hamburger and fries, which were absolutely delicious. And Marie was always our server and she was nice to us.
