Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Hands down best pizza EVER. I've lived around the country and eaten enough pizza to make me a semi-addict and somehow fight off obesity along the way and never had a better pizza than here at Marquis. They also have cheese bread that would rival the cheesehead state. Made perfect. And it's not a fluke. I've been here three times in two weeks and it's been perfect every time. The employees are always super friendly even when the place is so loud you can't even hear yourself think. The large pizzas are massive and if you're a drinking man/woman this will definitely fill you up enough to hate yourself in the morning. 5 stars all the way around.

Good street pizza and late night pizza by the slice. But there are better options for delivery or getting a whole pie. Super thin crust and fairly large slices are a little flimsy. Delivery was a little disappointing with a crushed box and cheese on the cardboard and not on the pizza on a few slices. It as not very filling and an 18" pizza is about 2 meals for me (cheese pizza). If you get more toppings I imagine the crust would just sag due to the weight. Stick with Marquis for late-night by the slice.

Best late night food down town. This pizza slice is as big as my head. The perfect greasy drunk food, and yet delicious enough to eat sober. Cash only!
(5)Alex H.
Awesome pizza, terrible service. Bought a slice separately for $2.50, then charged $6.50 for my friend as she had no cash. Left a $-2.50 to equal out at $4.00, which then resulted in being ridiculed. Bottom line: Great pizza, terrible service.

My boyfriend and I passed by Marquis on our way back to our Airbnb from Coors Field. My eyes immediately fixated on the HUGE slices of pizza and we decided to grab a couple slices the next evening. They're open late on weekdays (around midnight) and even later on weekends. This is a good spot if you're looking for late night eats, have the munchies, or are craving some good ol greasy pizza. The slices are super cheap too.
(3)Dawn W.
I just love this pizza. And that sound garden salad is the best deal in town. I tend to always get cheese pizza when I am here because it's just great, classic cheese pizza.

I've had great experience with Marquis Pizza in the past. One of the best places to stop at after hanging out with friends in Downtown Denver. My recent experience has changed my mind. On Friday, the 11th, I ordered a delivery from Marquis Pizza for an office party. A few of our employees are lactose intolerance, so we ordered a pizza without cheese. The delivery took about an hour which was a longer wait time than originally told when ordering. Along with being late, we specifically ordered a no cheese pizza that had cheese on it. I then called Marquis Pizza to let them know that this pizza had cheese on it at which point the person who answered told me that I made no such request. I politely stated that he was mistaken and that I did place a no cheese pizza order since people in my office are lactose intolerant. He then told me that they would deliver the pizza we order, but it never arrived and I never got a phone call regarding the pizza. While the pizza was good, I'm extremely disappointing with the customer service and don't think I will be recommending this for any future office parties.

The pizza is DELISH especially after a show. However, the ginger'ish "manager" is a complete douchebag. Although nice to me, he was beyond rude and mean to the chicks behind me & to a member of the band we just saw. I was embarrassed for them all. At least the band drummer called him out. This is by FAR the first time I've seen this but I can guarantee it'll be the last time I get pizza here. Don't care how good it is or if the only option at 2:59am... Be kind. Do your job. Don't be a COMPLETE DICK. (No exaggeration) How does this guy still have a job? Seriously.
(3)Jaime R.
Best vegan pizza in Denver, and among the best I've had. I'm from New York, so this is saying something. The seating is limited, but you can take your pie around the corner to Star Bar and enjoy it with a yummy beer. Would give 5 stars if they served vegan pizza by the slice.
(4)Tarena Z.
The pizza was fine. It did the job it is supposed to. The staff is FAST, nice and creative. They will make any slice anyway you want it. They are more than happy to quickly change up any slice to accommodate your craving!
(3)John M.
My band played a show here and we got meal vouchers from the venue. I only got two slices of cheese $6 each and it was plenty of food to fill me up for the night! I'm from Nashville, but if I lived here I would frequent this place for pizza and great music! I give it three stars because there is little to no seating room unless you are also watching a show. The food is good, but nothing special by any means. Come here if you want cheap pizza and fast. They also have a few vegan options!
(3)Baer D.
Decent slice - however their 'hours' are very flexible - I.e. they close about 25 min before posted and routinely refuse to pickup the tele.
(3)Siva R.
Ordered Veggie Pizza. Not that great of a pizza. Pizza sauce recipe need to be changed for sure.

I had a Yelper friend opine that Denver's pizza scene was terrific, giving me a rundown of places to try. Marquis wasn't on that list, though it ended up being the only pizza place our group hit up. Twice. Drunk munchies. Yeah. As we discovered, there's a bit of a line around 1:30, and a bit longer of a line around 2:30, so come mentally prepared and bathroom drained. The 1:30 service worked out just fine, but 2:30 might as well have been an indeterminate amount of time in which Marquis may or may not (the former) ran out of pizza just a few folks behind us. Though they make just cheese and pepperoni, the fine folks at Marquis give drunkards the opportunity to buy whole pizzas, which thoroughly slows down the operation and opens up ample room for arbitrage scalping. Wish I'd have thought of that. As it is, the slices are phenomenal. I think. Testing out semi-sober would've been nice (like our group did with Secret Pizza in Vegas), but I think I trust my hazy memory just enough to make that call.
(4)Jim L.
I got the pig destroyer and changed the sauce to spicy tomato sauce. Delicious!!! The 18inch was huge. Thin crust was on point.
(5)Dianne H.
Love this place. Especially during a late night on the town. I haven't been to what looks like a club on the inside, but I have drunkenly walked to the counter entrance and ordered 2 giant sliced of Pepperoni Pizza. Stop here for a $3 slice of pizza bigger than your face and walk down a block or 2 to Star Bar for a great night.
(5)Phil H.
For $3 a pretty mediocre slice with a thin limp crust. Don't get what everyone sees here. So what if it's a big slice. Even late night drunk it's kinda "Meh". Had a slice on Saturday night where there was a massive street party going on with a DJ and tons of people dancing in the road in front of the place. I was out craft beer bar hopping and craved a slice. $3 for this? We have better $1 slices in NYC. Sorry gang, but this does not compare with NYC, Jersey, or even Connecticut pizza. At least it's open late on the weekend. Nice try though.
(2)Kimberly B.
Ok so yeah this place is perfect for controlling all that alcohol with a huge slice of pizza! But to give this place a bit more credit than that, They are pretty darn good! Tried them out after a night of fun and beer and discovered them inside the Marquis theater for a concert that night and was so relieved that there was food! I have only experienced their huge thin crust slices and kinda made me wish I had dinner here before hand. They are a very small pizza place so no seating unless you want to sit out on the sidewalk but that may be a problem to their very long lines. Clever layout, they have one door to enter if you are not seeing a show and then have a whole counter open for the theater side to order. Very handy. People that work there, somewhat nice a little blunt and rough, but what do you except, they work in a small hot area baking pizza for probably what may be mostly rude drunks and not to mention can hardly hear any of the music being played the nights of really cool concerts. They probably just want someone to bring them a beer, Get them a beer and leave them a nice tip, should go a long way.
(3)M W.
Me and my buddy went here at lunch time on a Monday. No one greeted us and we waited at the counter until finally I had to tell one of the guys I needed to order. The employees are VERY unfriendly. A 20 inch pizza with 3 veggie toppings came to about $28. The pizza had very little cheese. The crust was burnt all the way around and on bottom but we were hungry so we ate it anyway. Only thin crust here and since the pizza is greasy it made it really flimsy. The taste was nothing special. A couple of people came in and ordered slices and got the same bad service. Another guy who apparently called in for a whole pizza was told that they had not even started it yet when he came to pick it up. He was still waiting (about 20) later when we left. Only two small tables to eat at. With the pizza being mediocre at best, combined with the bad service, I can safely say we will not be back.

Everyone talks about Marquis being the Ultimate Drunk Food, but I would go during the day! In fact, I tried today and found it was closed! :( I've been here a couple times because it's in an easy location and is cheap and I personally love the taste (both sober and intoxicated) of the pizza.. but I do have to say they need to implement a better register process as it could go much quicker if they did! Additional, they really upset me last night (hence the 4-Star review) when they said "No Flash Photography" was allowed... I asked if I could take a picture without a flash and he still said no. :( I only wanted to take a picture for my Yelp account and how neat & simple the location is! Oh well, the pies are good! PS: you have buy at least two slices to use a Credit Card! So you know!
(4)Monica V.
This place has yummy pizza to curb those late night munchies, and to help soak up all the booze you've imbibed. The line was pretty long during my visit around 1am, but it was nice meeting new people and witnessing drunken shenanigans taking place in the streets of downtown Denver. With that being said, the wait didn't seem very long and well worth it after having a bite of perfectly cheesy and pepperoni laden goodness.
(4)Stuti T.
Delicious pizza! Our go to place for a late night slice. Not just that, they have some amazing all day options too. I don't know if I can go back to any other pizza after this one.
(5)Kristy K.
I have found my favorite pizza joint in Denver! I first tried this pizza after a Yelp kickball game. It was love at first bite. I knew that I found my go-to NY style pizza place. I have been several times since that night and have only been more impressed. The pizza is always high quality and executed perfectly. The crust is wonderful and reminds me of the NY style pizza I would get in New York. The pizza is foldable without being too greasy. The sauce is excellently flavored with the right amount of scrumptious cheese. We have also tried the shred sticks. They are basically garlic knots. They are pretty darn good. They are loaded with garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese. We typically eat these on the car ride home because we are fatties who lose all control when we get a whiff of the garlic butter. Marquis is also open late and apparently is the place to go after a night of drinking. People claim it is the "best drunk pizza" in town. While this is true, I strongly recommend Marquis Pizza at any sobriety level. It is awesome when you are sober, drunk, tipsy, whatever. It is just awesome pizza.
(4)April T.
So, I'm sitting around on Sunday after a weekend of partying like a Rockstar and I wanted pizza. I called several local places that I order from and found that they were all closed.... Boo hiss! Then it occurred to me that perhaps the marquis pizza may be open AND may deliver! To my extreme delight, they were indeed open and they were willing to deliver to me even though I was literally on the border of the delivery zone. The gentleman who took my order was very sweet and friendly. He asked one of the delivery guys if he was willing to deliver to me, he was, I told him. I would tip well especially since these guys deliver on BICYCLE! My pizza arrived hot and delivered by a good looking man with a beard and within 30 minutes from ordering,Woohoo! I tipped $10 in cash for excellent service! The pizza was excellent too!
(5)Ana C.
I've heard nothing but good things about this pizza...it looks and smells, and according to my bf, tastes amazing. Too bad it's lagging behind the majority of other pizza spots in the area (actually I should say the city of Denver), because while it provides the option of ordering a no cheese / vegan pizza, there is no gluten free option. I think it's ridiculous for a restaurant in this day and age to not provide at least one, or a few, gluten free options given that gluten allergies are INCREDIBLY common and on the rise. Attract new customers! Make more $$$! The benefits that a restaurant can reap from providing allergy friendly choices for people like me is endless!
(4)Sarah H.
Hardest working pizza dudes in Denver and the pizza is always so good. I love that they have some vegan ingredients too, the best!
(5)Jennifer M.
What you will find here is men with beards, giant pizzas, and a long line. While watching one of the bearded men toss a ball of dough into the form of a queen sized bed sheet I was rather worried the dough would catch on his beard, but I am happy to report that it did not. Based on this I can say the pizzas at Marquis Pizza are made with care. They are also delicious, and will make you the envy of the various bar crawlers and panhandlers you will encounter as you carry your bounty home.
(5)Rebecca R.
Having moved to Denver from NYC and being super picky about my slice of pizza, this is really insanely far up on my list of best pizza in Denver. Equal sauce to cheese ratio. Thin crust that cracks when you fold it. Need I say more?
(5)Aimee L.
The slices are exactly what they are supposed to be... Fuel to keep you going while you are bar hopping downtown! It's relatively cheap and quick. No frills, but decent.
(3)Brett C.
This is pretty good pizza. Depending on your BAC. BAC above .15%= 5 star pizza BAC below .08%= 3 star pizza Price: 4 star This place gets packed after midnight.
(4)Heather C.
Real, NY-style, big enough to fold in half, greasy, crispy, perfect pizza. Wait in line, it's worth it. The only pizza in Denver that I've thought deserves the moniker "NY-style" at all. Best pizza in Denver.
(5)Katie N.
I just moved in a few blocks down and was super excited for vegan pizza. Both times I called for delivery staff said that they don't deliver. With some persistence, I was able to get the staff to specify that they usually deliver, just not that night specifically. Kind of a let down.
(2)Nate D.
Beardy McDildo was possibly the rudest individual this side of the garden state. Granted it was 2am, but he did act like ordering two slices of pizza was an inconvenience to him. He refused to heat up the slices and complained when we didn't tip (due directly to his rudeness). Customer service was not a strong suit. When the patron behind us attempted to order a supreme slice, the cashier responded, not with "I'm sorry, we only have cheese and pepperoni", but with, "dude, we're barely even open". I don't want to tell you your business, but you are still open and it's not like he asked you to valet park his car. As a business, you may wish for your employees to attempt to sell the pizza rather than verbally abuse potential customers. Pizza itself was edible.
(2)Jordan T.
I've never had their pizza sober, but every time it's saved my night/morning from disaster. For $2/slice (which are bigger than my face!), you can't help but stop by every time you're around the block. And the line moves fairly quickly if you hit the late night rush. While not gourmet pizza, the thin crust rivals most.
(4)Courtney B.
Love the venue, love the pizza... Can't stand anyone who works behind the counter. What a bunch of egotistical hipsters who hate their lives! Just because you make pizza in a bar doesn't mean you have to be mean to any and everyone you perceive as being drunk. If you don't like the clientele, get a new job.
(2)Chris T.
Upon wandering the streets of Denver looking for something for dinner a stranger over herd out conversation and recommended we come here. I figured if it is good enough to make a stranger recommend it then it must be good. I showed up during a Rockies game dinner rush so the place was packed and I still got a hot fresh slice in a short minute. The pizza was fantastic! Combined with speedy service and friendly staff gets this pizza place all 5 stars from me. And if there owner/ manager reads this he guy up front is awesome! He easily earned the last 2 stars on his own.
(5)Meredith X.
My friend and I left the club looking for pizza/drunk food/carbs. Looked this place up on Yelp, decided to try it out since it got decent reviews. Several factors detracted from our experience here. Seriously slow service, you have a line winding out the door and halfway down the block. I'm all about efficiency and expediting your customers' wait time. Damn, taking their sweet old time. My friend wanted to take a picture of the interior to document our little Denver nightlife excursion, only to be berated by both the cashier and the guy making the pizza. You have no signs displayed around your shop politely asking to refrain from photography. And you dude, too cool for school wearing my sunglasses at 2 in the morning working the cashier, you're already prepared for the flash photography. Exactly what do you accomplish from reprimanding two chicks for taking pictures? I'm also pretty sure it's unhygienic to be making food sans hair net or hair tie when you have dreads coming down to the middle of your back and a beard to your waist. Threw the pizza at us, mediocre pizza at best, sauce was bland and under seasoned, would have preferred a crisper and more charred crust, cheese was nothing spectacular, similar to the grated mozzarella variety commonly found in supermarkets. I could have forgiven the place for its mediocre/underwhelming slice if the people who worked there were personable, kind individuals. Rude and absorbed in the false and unwarranted grandeur of their pizza. Would it kill you to smile/be polite?
(1)Bill M.
Whether you're sober or not this pizza is awesome. You can tell a good pizza joint when you walk in and smell the ovens and flour. It's fresh and crispy and big slices. One of the best pizzas in Denver
(4)Michael B.
I used to think this place was a pretty decent place to grab a slice until they served me up a scalding hot slice straight from the oven without any notice. I have a nice first degree burn mark on my face from it now where some cheese and sauce dripped on to my cheek. Most likely won't be patronizing this place again.
(1)Matt O.
This is my favorite pizza place outside of NYC. They have a super cool staff, located in a great part of town and they are open late...at least on weekends. They always have cheese and pepperoni slices on hand but they can add whatever toppings. They are also vegan friendly, with some offerings. Makes sense since some of them ARE vegan! Check this place out, you'll be glad you did!
(5)Sam A.
We stumbled out of the ball park, had a few final-finals at a local bar, and were desperate for a late night snack. We found some giants fans with large slices of pizzas and pointed us in the direction of Marquis' - great tip. It hit the spot, and sold huge slices of great pizza for 3 bucks a piece. Even better that Wazee, the pizza place we were told we needed to stop at while in Denver - Marquis has a much better slice! Very close to NY style pizza slices!
(5)Dan C.
I grew up just outside of NYC and I know my pizza. This is the best NY style pizza I've had since leaving the east coast. It ain't perfect, but it's pretty damn good. The customer service has always been pretty decent as far as I'm concerned, though they do tend to be a bit surly and standoffish. But so far, this is the best pie I've had in Denver.
(4)Cambri H.
Delivery stops at 10pm, even on weekends. I can't comment on the food, since ridiculousness has left my taste buds bereft.
(1)Elizabeth W.
Huge pizza slices, or do a make your own. Thin crust. Crispy. Delicious. Cheaper than others nearby. They have pre-made huge slices which you can add toppings to. However, I ordered a 12" and something about the FRESH right out of the oven look. Yum! But if you don't want to wait, the slices are good too. Good greasy pizza. =)
(4)Joel F.
Think boardwalk beach slice. If you have been to one, you know what I am saying. THIN and crispy, and huge. Fold it in half and you have a meal. It's cheap and quick. I love it this way. Real street food. Don't get me wrong, I love a gourmet slice, and there are plenty of those, but sometimes you just want a thin slice not covered in pesto, artichoke, eggplant, tofu, or some other oddity. If you leave Scruffys or the Retro, get a slice.
(4)Sara C.
I really enjoyed every second of chewing my food at this joint. I am a fan of New York/Boston North End style pizza, thin chewy crust but not super crispy like crackers. Marquis Pizza does it well. I know it's great food when it makes me smile just thinking about it. I love that they have so many different options for toppings and I love that they're not dripping greasiness either, especially when I ordered the bacon as one of my toppings to go along with artichoke hearts. The BF got Canadian bacon with tomatoes. Both are super delicious... and my personal believe is that everything IS better with BACON! The crust is a little on the crispier side but still chewy nonetheless. The pizza went extremely well with the hot sauce they had there... not sure what exactly it was but it reminded me of Frank's Hot Sauce. We didn't even get anything to drink, the dough of the pizza was so perfect... not drying at all. The store is small, with 2 tables -- each with 2 high stools. We were lucky that we got to eat it there fresh out of the oven. It'll probably be just as good taken home but we couldn't wait! Since you are on the slightly sketchier side of town, watch out for beggars. They are open later on the weekends so watch out for drunk people... There were stories of drunk people just started peeing in the trash can inside the establishment while waiting for their pizza. All in all, the pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had in Denver. Since I'm mostly Asian food fan, impressing non-Asian food will definitely gain my business again in the near future! Deliciousness!
(4)Chris W.
Frankly, I do not see what the rave is behind Marquis Pizza. The pizza was average, at best, and lacked flavor. I do like that Marquis Pizza offers buffalo sauce as part of their standard condiments. :-) More important to me is that Marquis Pizza serves dairy (milk and egg) free pizza and calzones, and for me, this is *huge*! Frankly, it is this, and this alone that would have me back at Marquis Pizza!
(3)Carly B.
Would you like a side of repressed high school memories of "hardcore/screamo" bands (a genre that should have burned out five years ago, but is still alive and well at Marquis Theater) with your pizza? You've come to the right place! And the guys here actually make super tasty pizza by the slice, especially if you get a fresh one. Just enough grease, not too much cheese, and a really zingy sauce makes this a go-to post-bar pizza joint that holds its own against the rest of the by-the-slice places in town. This pizza is so good that'll make you slip up on Weight Watchers, especially if it's your birthday (I saw this happen to a co-worker....post-bar crawl on her birthday...when she went for her third slice, I told her I thought she had enough and it was time to go home). Also, you can catch up on the bands that are in that weekly Soda Jerk Presents upcoming shows listing that you never read, but were into when you were 19. All ages, X's across your hands, coca-cola from the bar...don't act like you don't remember what I'm talking about. There are also a few tables outside to enjoy your pizza. Not the greatest ambience, but at least it's extra seating when it's warm.
(4)Leah C.
First things first, I LOVE their pizza. It's thin, greasy, and delicious. However, the service is so terrible that I just cannot justify giving them more than two stars. I have been there many times, and have never once enjoyed the people who work there. The worst offense was one time when I called in a pick up order for a pizza. They told me it would be about a 30 minute wait. 30 minutes go by and I go to pick up my pizza. There were only a few other people in front of me in line, and it was early enough that there was not a band playing. However, there WAS a band standing there. The staff completely ignored everyone on the customer side in order to slowly take orders for the band that would not be made until about four hours later when they were ready for it. Fine. Whatever. I get that the band has stuff to do, but all the guys at the counter had to say was "be right with you" instead of completely ignoring us. After about 15 minutes of this, they finally came over to our side. When it came my turn, I told them I had called in an order and was here to pick it up. I instantly knew that they had not made my pizza by the look on his face. He slowly looked around, went to the back to talk to the kitchen, and then came back and said "oh we are gonna start that pizza right now". I told them to forget about it, as they clearly have no regard for you unless you are in a band. The guy did not seem to care one bit: no apology, no nothing. I have not been back since. The attitudes of the people that work there are unbearable. So, while the pizza is very good, I would much rather spend my money elsewhere.

We popped in for a slice on the run. Here's the skinny... They were just opening and only had pepperoni available . No prob. * Price/Value - 4 stars (a good-sized slice for $3) * Crust - 4 stars (tasty chewy texture) * Sauce - 4 stars (good balance of tangy & sweet) * Toppings - 2 stars (pepperoni & cheese were OK, but greasy) Overall - 3.5 stars (the toppings made the slice just a bit too greasy for us, especially while on foot.) Oh, and as Meredith G previously yelped a week ago, there were still no napkins dispensers to be found. We had to ask, and then they handed us this gigantic handful, which were too many for two people to hold or let alone use. Go figure?
(4)Andrea P.
The kickball team finally decided we should venture back to our official kickball team bar but knowing that there was no service or food there we need food and fast. No really, we were starving, double header, and two V's under the belt. Enter Marquis pizza. Now it was louder than sin in there at the moment b/c a live band was playing but we got a few very large pizzas order and apparently tripled that Wednesday's sales. Then when we stood outside it became like a beacon for everyone else to go there. They wouldn't be disappointed! We got 4 of their large pizza and it feed 18 of us just fine, no complainers that there wasn't enough. Overall a pretty solid showing, good pizza, prices were reasonable and they don't skip out on toppings - b/c when I want a veggie party on my pizza, there better be one, and I'm proud to report it partied on.
(4)Maria B.
Wow! wow! wow! Never in a million years would I had guessed this would be a-freakin-mazing pizza. Yup. The best, closest pizza in Denver... perhaps Colorado. NY style. Large slice. yum.
(5)Kara R.
Love the pizza at this location, however the customer service is terrible. The last 2 times I was there, I witnessed another costumer getting yelled at, and last night I was yelled at when I was being served. The employees are rude. Can't say I'll be going back there again.
(2)Mike M.
This place is as good as it gets for NY style pizza Denver. I am from CT, smack dab between Brooklyn and New Haven. I am a pizza snob. These guys just do it right, period. Even their white pizza is killer! For pizza to be authentic NY style, the pizza must be a little greasy. Simple solution......fold the slice and allow said grease to drip from pizza onto plate. Problem solved. I do admit that I have yet to eat at Virgilio's (hard to say if they are denver or not) and that place has a very good reputation for NY style pizza.
(5)Sean S.
If it weren't for the airheads that work here, I would give this place more stars. Despite the tasty pizza the buffoons behind the counter make it are hard to stomach.
(3)Jeffrey E.
What I had? Pepperoni pizza Food review: Oh my goodness, this pizza is tasty especially when you've been drinking quite a bit that night. So, take this review with a grain of salt. I only come here late at night when I am a little hammered but if you're in the same state, I definitely recommend this pizza. Really thin pizza and simply tasty large pieces of pie. Best "drunk" pizza in town! Service? No complaints Other thoughts: You have to be mindful of timing with this place. If it gets too close to closing this place easily gets a long line. Everybody has the same idea. :-)

$3 for a giant slice of great pizza, this is the perfect drunk food snack. Its also usually not horribly busy so thats great. You can even hear some of the live (interesting) music going on in the connected Marquis Theatre while you wait, very nice! you can also order whole pies if you are really drunk and hungry :)

This is easily the best place for a slice of amazing pizza in Denver. Each slice is made to order and the size of your head. All of their specialty pizza are to die for. I've been eating nothing but Marquis Pizza every night since October and have lost over 20 pounds so these slices are nothing but magic. The cooks make your wait fun by blasting the sickest heavy metal known and since most of the cooks are in great bands you get to hear stuff you never would know about otherwise. This place is easily 8 stars out of 5. Do yourself a favor and stop by sometime.

For the record, I wasn't drunk. In fact, I was stone cold sober, and my stomach had been aggravated from 5 hours of non-stop roller coaster riding at Elitch Gardens. Three words: bomb ass pizza! Crispy thin crust, zesty sauce, not too heavy on the cheese, slices as big as your head. I grew up eating amazing NY style pizza at least once a week, and this brought me straight back to childhood. Hands down, the best NY style pizza I've found in Denver so far. The next time I'm in lodo and have a late night food craving, I'm heading here.

I have to agree, there is nothing incredible about this place. The atmosphere and customer service suck. But the pizza is addicting. It reminds me of the greasy slices I used to get after elementary school. And they are pretty fast.

After a night out downtown and hungry drunk, this is the place to be. For 3.00, you get a huge slice of either pepperoni or cheese. The thin crust is always baked to perfection with the right amount of cheese and sauce. Depending on what time you are here, the line could be pretty long.

SO GOOD. Yum. Especially after you dance the night away at Marquis Theater!

After ten pm this is a great alternative for quick good food. We stopped by after an evening out. The pizza comes out quick, it is delicious ny style slice, and the after hours scene brings the extra entertainment. The price is just right and the staff super friendly...a definite late night stop

Sometimes great food can be found in the most unlikely of places... such as the lobby of a music venue. Marquis pizza is definitely some of the best in Denver, if not the best NYC style. $3 seems like a lot for a slice of cheese, but the slices are HUGE. Fold 'em in half, and you have a big pizza sandwich. They also have bottles of delicious hot sauce, because they understand that hot sauce slathered pizza is the best. I usually only eat here after I've overindulged in alcohol, but it's worth stopping by when you'll remember your meal, too.

I promised myself I'd come back to the Marquis not drunk and have a slice or two of pizza. I kept my promise. I was going to the Volbeat show and the opening band was terrible. I think my ears were bleeding. So to allow my delicate ears to heal my bf, friends, and me ordered a whole pizza. Half pepperoni and half cheese. My quarter was cheese and much to my delight - the Marquis pizza was just as good sober as it was drunk! If, or maybe rather when, I go back to another concert I'll go on an empty stomach just to have a reason to eat a Marquis slice!

Not bad slices for $3, but napkins were no where to be found and the pizza was dripping grease.

I dont know what about this place is so good. When you see their pizza it looks bland and greasy, but the sauce and crust combine into this other wordly mix of tastebud salvation.

I was amazed to read the reviews for Marquis and see that the only negative thing anyone could say was that it was a little greasy. I see that as a positive thing with this style of pizza and finally went last night. It's easily the best NY style pizza in Denver. If you haven't been there yet, go now.

The pizza here is solid thin crust style pizza, and especially great to wrap up a night on the town. The slices are huge, and usually you don't need more than one. The staff is terrible however, all of the employees have a "I'm cooler than you because I work at a venue" attitude, and don't care about their customers. On three separate occasions I have had horrible service and won't be returning although I think the pizza is pretty solid. Most recently, we called a pizza ahead and they said it would be 30 minutes. When we get there about 25 minutes later, we are promptly ignored for 10 minutes while they take the order of what appeared to be people playing that night that are putting in an order that they want 3 hours from now, but apparently is more important than us and the other five people waiting. Then we are told that our order was never received, once they finally do talk to us. Another night while it was busy at about 1:30am, they decided they would only serve "whoever has the most money for tip" because it was getting busy. While the pizza is fairly good thin crust pizza, as far as I can see, the employees could care less about their customers and just want to force tips into their pockets and become buddy buddy with the bands that pass through.

Let me just say one thing... late night. I have a feeling that the pizza is probably pretty good here during the day, as it seemed to have good flavor. At 1am (last night - see review on Milk... :), it was pretty ok. It was hot. It was quick. It was reheated. Yeah - the crust was kind of... bullet-proof. But, it saved me a brutal hangover this morning, so I'm indebted to these guys, and will give them another chance in the light of day. I think this is also a surefire winner for delivery. I'll update the next time I check it out...

The pizza is great after visiting the bars across and down the street. Not too pricey and you can order it by the slice. The guys working the kitchen were all friendly and helped me out. I showed up with a buddy right as they were closing. There weren't enough slices already made to go around (we were supposed to be bringing some back for other friends) and the guy completely offered to make another one even though it was around closing time. Superb service. The flavor is a bit different than other pizza I'm used to eating, and the sauce isn't very strong. That being said the cheese was delicious. This place has got unusual hours since they're attached to the Marquis Theater. The other thing is they've got a GIANT banner on the side of the building facing the street. It has their name and their website ( marquispizza.com ) on it... TOO BAD THE WEBSITE DOESN'T EXIST. I wonder how many people have told them? I'm planning on going in sometime and ordering an entire pie.

I know this will probably hurt somebody's feelings, but The pizza in Denver ranges from terrible to I guess this won't make me throw up (Accept you walnut room and organic pizza company). Thank you Marquis Pizza. Thank you for realizing that Pizza can be straightforward AND awesome. If you like delicious new york style pizza than eat here. If you like soggy greasy cheese lumps, avoid, you have numerous other options throughout the city (or in the dumpsters).

This is awesome pizza for the price, $3 for a huge, HOT, thin, crispy NY style slice. Not the greasy, heavy faux "NY" junk you'll find elsewhere. I prefer plain old cheese topped with extra parm and crushed red pepper. My friends and I all burned the roofs of our mouths off as we devoured our pizza despite warnings from staff as well as us watching them come directly out of a burning hot oven. They just looked so tasty. I'm disappointed I didn't know about this place last year when I went to the Ginn Mill next door for cruiser rides on Wednesdays, it so would have hit the drunken spot.

How have I not reviewed Marquis before? It was a late-night ritual for me to get a nice, huge, cheesy hot slice from the window after going out. Hot cheese, tasty sauce, crispy thin crust- just how I like it. The pizza itself is in reality probably 3 stars, but they get one more for being the tastiest place to go for a late night snack (and being a probably safer option than the street burritos). Bonus points for the staff being nice to loads of hungry drunk people after the bars close down!

So i wasnt drunk when i tried the pizza. The slice was huge. Piping hot and greasy ohh i loved it. The Crust was chewy not tough. The Good kind of chewy. Sucks that i had to wait til 5pm for them to open but it was well worth the wait. I didnt give them 5 stars because there was a wait for cheese pizza. I tried the pepperoni. Drunk or not go here for a huge slice. YUM
(4)Jason B.
As close to pizza you can get in NYC!!!!! cheap good huge slices open late what more do you want the sauce is good might leave the kids at home though unless they are into punk rock
(5)B C.
Marquis is the only pizza place in Lodo that serves really good pizza by the slice. Reasonably priced at around $3 a slice. Long lines are the only downside to this place, but it is definitely worth the wait. Definitely the best late night food around 20th.
(4)A P.
HUGE slices of NY style pizza, yummy! Never have been here sober however
(4)Chris H.
Huge pies, great price, open late, and delivery!!
(5)Eddie C.
Great staff... Great by-the-slice or whole pies... Open until 0230... Connected to the Marquis Theatre... Definitely the best drunk food in Denver (or any other time)... I'll just leave it at that...
(5)Craig S.
Good pizza, and I like the fact that they have vegie and vegan choices. Plus, the folks who work here are nice. I'd give it four stars, but the place seems too hot in the summer to eat there, and I'm not a fan of the ambiance. I'd order to take out. It isn't as good as Enzo's End pizza, but pretty darned good!
(3)McKenzie G.
Yay Marquis for having Daiya: vegan, soy-free, gluten-free, (dairy-free) cheese! I do love this cheese, but having a pizza oven really changes it into something miraculous. Their pizzas are huge. They deliver. If you pick up, you can pull into their parking lot and they will bring the pie out to you. Sweet!
(4)Matthew B.
Delicious and super quick delivery
(5)Dawn P.
Marquis Pizza is by far my Fav pizza.... I love peperoni with hot sauce it is sooo good they are open late so when you get out of a show or for a late night meal after going out its there and cheap!!!!
(5)Dub H.
Two words: drunk food. Large slices of greasy goodness. Price is decent, service is what you'd expect (unimportant). Note that there is nowhere to sit. It's pretty much a grab-and-go.
(3)Lyndsay A.
These guys do pizza right. Do yourself a favor and get a slice piping hot - it's so good.
(5)Eddie H.
Definitely my favorite NY style pizza in Denver. With a friendly staff and such a clutch location for a late night eat, how can you not go to this place!
(5)Jim B.
The best after hours pizza in Denver, so many people go to Two Fisted Marios and wait for 45 to get a slice of pizza which don't her ne wrong is good pizza but Marquis pizza is better, equally priced and super fast even at 2am you wont wait more then 5 or 10 minutes for your drunken meal. Tried it sober a few times and was still very impressed

The. Ultimate. Drunk. Food. Ever. That could be the whole review but I will go ahead and give Marquis Pizza the decency of a legitimate review. This place opens around 5:00PM every night and stays open until 3:00 in the morning and they serve New York style pizza by the slice to concert-goers or people drinking at the bars downtown. The price is extremely reasonable, 3 dollars for a huge fold-able, juicy, greasy New York style slice. Heavenly. I have attended at least 50 concerts at the Marquis Theatre and honestly, one of my favorite things about that venue is the fact that they are connected with Marquis Pizza. I have been known to drink one too many tall cans of PBR, and have one too many shots of Jager at these shows at the Marquis, and when that happens the pizza slices of Marquis Pizza are always a life saver. I will usually get one or two pepperoni slices, drench them in parmesan and crushed red pepper and then shove them in my mouth like the drunk animal I am. Let me tell you, there is nothing quite like Marquis Pizza when you are drunk and it is the perfect compliment to drinking and watching live music. On a side note, I have had Marquis Pizza when I was sober and it simply wasn't as good. Was it a bad slice of pizza? Not by any means, it is a great slice of pizza, but strictly street style pizza slices. When you are drunk however, Marquis Pizza is amazing. If you have never seen a show at the Marquis Theatre, you still owe it to yourself to stop by Marquis Pizza if you are drinking at a bar nearby, this stuff is the best drunk food around.
(4)Dave F.
Pretty good & cheap pizza, open late. Excellent for drunk food.
(4)James P.
Solid late night option. Real good drunk food. Better options in Denver during normal hours.
(3)Scott S.
Best pizza I had in Denver.
(4)Dan F.
The website states delivery....talking to the man on the phone, they deliver on bike within a ten block radius. I live twelve blocks away--no dice no deal. He was also rude about it. If you like the apathetic hipster vibe not focused on customer service, this place is for you.
(2)Jah M.
Thanks to the Pedi- Cab for takin us here Sat night. Super good slices and quite the scene going on around the place.
