Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Molinos is so good that I didnt even want to write a review cause I want it to be my own little secret! Ive been going to Los Molinos for years and there is nothing that isnt fantastic on the menu. The gorditas are the local favorite. You will see the buffet of stewed meats upon entering. My favorites are the chicken in salsa roja, the cactus and steak in salsa verde when it comes to the gorditas. Lately Ive been stuck on the flauta plate though, so crispy and delicious. If you want the mother of all tortas, order the torta cubana. My favorite torta is the barbacoa though, so spicy and it just melts in your mouth. If you want authentic mexican food, come to this mexican owned restaurant that is supported by the mexican community around it. Love, love, loooove this place!!!!!

I give this five stars for quality of food and authenticity. This is a straight up Mexican restaurant with very good food. You can get by here speaking english but Spanish certainly helps you understand what's available. Tip: Asking for "agua" means you'll get a variety of horchata. The flautas were good and the enchiladas were outstanding. Goes well with a Coke in a glass bottle!

This place is in my hood and they serve up an off the hook, classic, denver style smothered burrito which is twice the size of your head for 6 bucks. I had mine filled to the brim with pork barbacoa, beans, and rice. Pork was served in big chunks but were fall apart tender with a wonderful flavor. Didn't even need the sour cream and other stuff on top.

An authentic Mexican restaurant where even the coke comes bottled from the motherland (and so made with real sugar and not that yechy fructose goo). Excellent barbacoa burrito accompanied by a cheese stuffed jalapena that broke me out into a serious sweat. Umm umm muy delicioso. Few of the servers speak English and you wouldn't mistake this place for a franchise of anything, but that just makes it all the more fun. As Miguelito would say, "try it, you'll like it!"

This is probably the best Mexican food I have ever had. They have great food, all their meats are cooked to an amazing flavor, it is really good. I recommend the Gorditas deep fried, my favorite. The chips and salsa is all homemade and awesome, I have never seen chips like theirs anywhere else. They normally do not speak much English when I do go in there. Only once has a server been able to fully understand what I saying, which is totally fine. Makes the place feel more authentic, which it is. They have true Mexican sodas, candies, and other treats their as well, all reasonably priced. If you feel like adventuring north of five points, this place makes it worth the trip.

Incredibly authentic. As other reviewers noted, none of the staff (when I've been there at least) speaks English, so practice your Spanish at home before you go there so you don't have to embarrass yourself like I did (three years of high school French didn't help me much here...). The chips and salsa are super fresh, the coca cola has real cane sugar in it, and the prices are insanely affordable.

This is the gem of the neighborhood and I am blown away that it has only been reviewed twice. So here we go, I have walked past this place dozens of times and I finally decided to go in. Plenty of seating inside, but kind of dumpy. Let's get past that. I lived in California and the trick is to go to places that the menu is in Spanish. Perfect, and they had pictures also. I got the Carne Asada Torta , it was 6.35 out the door. Fantastic. Pretty much everything on their menu was 6 bucks or cheaper. Got it home, it was freaking fantastic. Everything about it was amazing. Two things to note, first ..... their sales just went up 600 dollars for the year... they hooked me for 2 meals a week. And second that number will jump another 200-300 bucks if they have fried ice cream ...... hearts Also don't be afraid of the gang activity down the street, they are harmless and sometimes have a good game of dice going on.

Best Mexican food in Denver, if not the world. The ladies are super accommodating. I got the enchiladas with beans instead of chicken. Great portion size, great service, amazing taste. They get it.

Stopped here for dinner based on the great Yelp reviews. The ladies were very nice, but the food was average at best. We ordered the mariscos diablos and tacos (al pastor and steak). Meats were overcooked, sauces and beans bland, and the rice mushy. I wouldn't try it again.

The burritos were large and delicious. I grabbed food for three people, with a Buche, an Asada, and a Chicken burrito. The chicken and the buche had rice and beans in the burrito, but for some reason the asada was packed with nothing but meat. Personally, that sounds awesome, but my wife wasn't quite as pleased, which is why this place gets 4 stars.

They have tripe tacos on the menu ! I was like yay ! The woman didn't want to give them to me even though I had my bf grandma who speaks Spanish tell her tripe. I think she thought I didn't know how it tasted. I'm not coming back she probably thought I would say it was gross.

The reviews boggle my mind. I've never disliked someplace with this high a yelp rating, but Molinos was awful. Maybe they've changed? The restaurant itself is filthy and filled with flies, with dried bits and sauce all over. A bunch of food was sitting at room temp in a 'hot' bar. I nearly didn't order for fear of catching a disease. After I got the food I wished I hadn't. *Barbacoa: fatty, tough and tasteless. Couldn't even finish it. God awful. *Carne Asada: Better than the barbacoa, but still overcooked and bland. *Al Carbon: The best taco we had... it was solidly mediocre! Hey! They were out of carnitas. I would not be optimistic about it.

Best Mexican I have ever had. Do I want to see the kitchen? No. But the food is so good.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a hot bar loaded with different stewed meats and other goodies. It's almost cafeteria-style because the server may scoop up some items from the hot bar right onto your plate. I had the 4 taco combo (buche and lengua) and really enjoyed both meats! The buche had a little kick to it and the lengua was very well seasoned. My friend had the carne asada plate with rice and beans... all really good! There's a small self-serve condiment area (4 different types of salsas, cilantro, onions) and bottled hot sauce as well. It does have a feel of not being the cleanest but coming from LA, I expect that! Glad this little gem is just a 10 minute walk away!

I'm from San Diego and this is the best Mexican restaurant in Denver

Went for Cinco de Mayo with Fam. It was OK, would not go again. Authentic in kind of a divey way. But that doesn't necessarily mean tasty. Cost about $10 a plate, which is also not necessarily the cheapest. Not bad, but not real good either. Plenty of other places cheaper or as cheap with better taste and decor
