Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Well everything has gone to hell here. But I can put up with by customer service if the food is worth it, but I hate to say it, but it is gross. I really loved this place when they first opened and now I can't stand to go there. Papa Johns is around the corner go there instead.

Meh.... A solid 2 stars. This is Subways cousin pizza place. Totally reminded me of Subway when the guy started counting out my pepperoni so I was able to get one slice per piece of pizza. Very bland. Nothing exciting. It's 12 and you would think the place would be slammed, but I'm the only one here. Most of the soda options were out, the place was filthy. Will not go back

Best pizza ever! I have had a lot of really good pizza but my tastes, they are a changin'. Other pizza now seems too heavy, oily, greasy, on frequently cotton candy like dough. Ingredients like shaved Parmesan and marinated wild mushrooms excite the palette - all are fresh and high quality and that makes an awesome pizza. Only wish is that this kind of quality and flavor lived in a little fancier restaurant.

We recently discovered this place and have been back at least three times. Pizza is fresh and tasty and the staff have always been great. I tried a duo tonight (half pizza and half salad) and was really happy with my Farmer's Market pizza and Arugula salad for under $9. We will definitely keep coming back!

I'm a bit conflicted with my overall opinion of this pizzeria. The concept is great - a wide variety of fresh and natural ingredients used to quickly make any flavor of pizza you can imagine. I've visited this establishment three times since the opening. The first time, a week after the opening, service was exceptional. I was greeted with positive and grateful attitudes. This tends to be the norm and wanting to make a good first impression. The Hawaiian BBQ pizza was average - good flavor, but lacking in ingredient quantity. The temperature was warm, not as hot as it should have been. The last two visits have shown a decline in the quality of service. Attitudes have progressed to being less friendly. My last visit, the "pizza artist" (have no idea how else to call them) abandoned me in the middle of making my order to answer the phone. Typically I would expect them to request the caller to hold. Instead he continued with the phone call and taking the caller's order. No kidding, five minutes had passed before another "artist" noticed me standing there before coming over to finish my order. Meanwhile, my original artist still remained on the phone. Being ignored is usually a deal breaker for me. The pizza quality had been about the same as the first visit. They are a bit stingy with the ingredients, sometimes overly, sticking to the exact or less of the measuring scoop. If you like a good amount of sauce and cheese base, you will not find it here. Any extra scoops will incur an extra cost. The baking temperature of the pizza still has not been resolved. The crust was burnt in places, but the ingredients and cheese were unevenly cooked. A few other reviews of Live Basil have stated the same. Pizza comes out warm, not hot. In summary, Live Basil pizza has a great opportunity to stand out as something fresh and unique, the great big hope of new style quick food. So far, it's playing a just above average game in this field.

Vince and Brandon give wonderful customer service. They go out of their way to make sure your order is correct and quick. The "Farmer's" and "Too Hot" are favorites. The Arugula/Pistachio salad is delish. Garlic knots are the bomb! Hubs loves that Italian beer. We can't wait for patio weather.

Trust their advertising & try it if you like fresh pizza made with high quality ingredients and attention to detail. Delicious char on crust - just the right amount of crisp. Each bite is flavorful and satisfying to this picky pizza eater. Reasonable price, service, pleasant ambiance. I'll be back with family & friends.
(5)Tracie C.
Fresh & made to order. Great pizza. Definitely worth a try. If you like thin crust that is still soft enough to fold, you'll like it.
(5)M L.
Really tasty pizza and salads. Wine and beer was reasonable. Service was super friendly. Only down side was pizza was a bit greasy.
(4)Marc W.
This place is way delicious. Not exactly inexpensive though. But I still think it's a great value for FRESH food.
(4)Nick S.
Great food great price great service. Other reviews are just negative people. Would go here over Pizza Hut any day
(5)David B.
Live Basil is essentially the Subway of the pizza world. There's nothing special about it at all, and with other great places nearby, I don't plan to return. The employees were friendly, but the pizza was well below par. It was also a pretty dirty place. None of the empty tables were clean, so we had to clean our own before we could sit down.
(2)Niki B.
I was looking for a place close to the hotel with a local flavor. Found it! The folks working there were enthusiastic about their jobs and had great attitudes. I ordered the Chef's Pick, which had marinara sauce, avocado, bacon, basil, spinach and cheese. I added some pineapple to make it more delicious, but how can you say no to bacon and avocado? My friend had a margherita pizza with a side of meat balls. The meat balls sounded awesome.

Really gone downhill in the past month. We used to get Live Basil in Quebec Square weekly- 3 pies at a time and usually a side of meatballs to feed our family. It was our go-to place to get take out when we had company in town and needed an easy "night-in" meal or a bunch of pies for a kid's birthday party. No longer is this the case. Our past 2 orders have been really messed up- and more than that, the apathy and almost rude response from the people who work there are what really turned us off. This past time I ordered the usual cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and a GF Farmers Market. When I got home I saw we got a regular crust pizza (I'm celiac). Frustrated to have to get back in the car and leave my family while they ate, I called ahead to tell Live Basil the issue so my pizza could be ready. It took 4 times before anyone picked up the phone. The girl I spoke to sounded annoyed when I explained that I cannot have gluten, told me to 'bring in the pizza and she could replace it' but refused to apologize. She told me to bring in the pizza and she'd replace it. The one I got in return was burned- black all across the bottom. I was not going to go back twice and deal with her. Last night was the same thing- my husband ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza but got a veggie one instead. Again, we have to go back to Live Basil to make the exchange (2 nights of missing dinner with the whole family now) and no apology- the kid said he'd ask his manager to give my husband a refund, but the manager never showed. The replacement sausage pizza was burned to boot. The food quality has gone downhill (taste isn't as good) and clearly the service is terrible. We won't be back.

Don't go there if you only have an hour for lunch! Only about 5 people in front of us and the whole thing took over 20 minutes just to get our food. They lost about 10-15 customers behind us because of the wait. And it is like this every time we go. This is my third time there and I want it to be good, it always sounds good, but I always leave disappointed. The food is tasteless (but might be good for people that don't want much cheese and can notice fresh food vs. processed). The whole line concept with making it in front of you is not done in an efficient manner to satisfy most of their daytime clientele that are going on their lunch break. And don't even get me started on the fork situation. Every time I go, they are out and do not have enough staff to wash them. In fact, all but the tasteless food has to do with how understaffed they are. I won't be going back.
(1)Susan B.
Great little pizza joint! Everything is fresh and all the guys were so helpful since it was our first time there! Really enjoyed my personalized pizza and it was fairly inexpensive! Four pizzas 2 beers and 2 drinks with tip was about $40! Awesome! Only bad thing is that it is so far away! Wish we had one in Grand Junction! It would do so well here as long as it is in the right location!!
(4)Frank F.
Awesome pizza crust. By far a great value for dinner. Staff is friendly and efficient. Definitely will be back! Build your own half pizza and salad are great deals.
(5)Liad A.
This was my first time eating at Live Basil Pizza. The staff were amazingly friendly and fast. The food was quick and very fresh. The quality and the amount of food were a perfect combination. I would definitely come back here again!
(5)Permahungry C.
I'd say 3 stars for the food, 1 star for the service... so let's go with 2 overall. Stopped in here the other night for a quick simple dinner after some brewery-ing. (That's a technical term.) Food - the pizza was decent. Nothing spectacular, but not bad. Decent size for the price, good ingredient options. Between the group, we had a special (which was a white sauce, asparagus and ricotta deal), the Hot One (pepperoni, jalapenos, etc..), and a Chicken Pesto (pesto, chicken, ricotta, tomato). All were pretty tasty. Service/Atmosphere - I'm not sure if it's because this is a new location, or just that the staff hadn't been trained properly, but the service was pretty terrible. There was no line and just one other group in the restaurant when we got there, so they certainly weren't overwhelmingly busy.... The three employees there all seemed annoyed to be working, and nobody offered to explain the concept, food, or answer any questions while we were standing around trying to figure the menu out. Once we finally ordered, it wasn't clear if we were to wait for something, or move down the line to pay... We finally just moved on, told the cashier what we ordered, and handed her our payment. And awkwardly stood there wondering if we waited for our food, or sat and got served... Finally grabbed some cups for the drinks we ordered (since nobody gave them to us), and sat down while awkwardly staring at the counter to see if we were supposed to go get our pizza whenever it was done... After about fifteen minutes, one of our group went up and grabbed our pizzas that were just sort of sitting at the end of the counter... It just seems like the staff could use some training on customer service and helping customers through their process. In conclusion - the pizza is decent, prices are relatively fair, just don't expect service with a smile. (Oh, and the "live basil"? I'd stay away if you have germ issues... it goes on the pizza after it comes out of the oven, and I'm fairly certain the guy I watched add it to someone else's pizza did so with his bare hands after handling other items.. with no hand washing break...)
(2)Sara A.
I love their pizza! I think it's decently priced for what you get, and I also love the concept: an individual pizza (that's not too filling or greasy) made with fresh ingredients. The arugula, mushroom, and truffle pizza is my personal fave. Will continue to eat there and bring friends from out of town! I work close by so I typically call in my order after work and it's ready to be picked up when I get there (in reading the other comments people discuss the wait in line). Just call ahead, it only takes like five minutes and it's ready when you arrive!
(5)Sabrina P.
I'm so glad we finally have another neighborhood pizza option. The pizza is fresh and tasty. We've eaten here many times since it opened. Enough options to please everyone.
(4)SYLVIA R.
Came in after work two nights ago. The place was very clean, windows at the door shiny and bright. I was greeted very pleasantly by the very young staff. First time there, they gave me lots of time to select my dinner: one Margarita pizza and one lemonade. I watched as the pizza was made, all of the food looked very fresh, the preparation area was immaculate. The fellows that made my dinner all used gloves, hair nets, and big smiles. I was so pleased. Then, I got to the cash register and found out my dinner was free as the cash register was broken!! I sat down, the kind man brought me my dinner. The pizza was just delicious, very hot, with fresh basil on every slice. The crust was thin and chewy -- every bite was a treat. I will be back very soon, a happy and delicious experience. Thank you, one and all at Live Basil Pizza.
(5)Noellah R.
One of the best pizza I've ever tasted ! Maybe a bigger pizza selection but besides that it's great. Definitely a place to bring friends and/or family !(:
(5)Jonathan P.
If you love fresh wild mushrooms your going to love the arugula wild mushroom truffle oil pizza! It really is delicious! I also ordered the classic marg pizza with mozzarella' and fresh basil leaf on each slice. Very good and is comparable if not as good as Pizza Republica. I would give this review 5 stars, however where many pizzas fall short with this Italian boy, and as my mother always says, "don't skimp on the sauce!" I just wish both pizzas had a little more of there respective sauce to balance the delicious fresh crispy thin crust. Well done in any event! Bravo!
(4)Tim H.
I too was staying on Quebec, from out of town. Went Monday and Wednesday evening for dinner. Ordered the Pesto Chicken straight up on Mon and then added to it on Wed with mushroom, artichoke, garlic, and spinach. The pizza is NOT slow roasted so there is a trade off between over-cooking the crust or under-cooking the toppings... I was quite pleased with both night's results. You can almost think of it as "grilled or broiled" pizza. Delicious, simple, fresh and ample for 8.50! I had a soda from their case, pricey in my opinion but eat out much. I also tried their cheese bread. Bread stuffed with cheese, with garlic olive oil and thin strips of Romano-like cheese on top. Very good! With the offered side of marinara sauce, the garlic was muted too much in my opinion. Being a garlic lover myself, I think the garlic could be ratcheted up some. I suggested same to the staff and we talked about how they cook the bread and the question of fresh vs. roasted garlic in the olive oil and the impact on the flavor in both cases. The conclusion I draw from this is: they care about what they are preparing and serving the customer, period. It happens to be speedy, but I am pleased to think that it wouldn't matter to that crew much as long as it didn't hinder their product any! I would keep coming back, and get a membership card... If I lived in Denver!
(5)Drew T.
We come to Denver several times a year to visit our children and always look forward to eating here. The salad and pizza options are unique and delicious with the freshest ingredients! Vince is fun and engaging! The man who made my made to order salad and my husbands pizza took time to make sure everything was exactly how we liked it...and it was! Megan and Drew

I must admit I was both skeptical and excited when Live Basil opened up across Quebec Street from where I work. Here's the break down: 1 - It's fast and convenient. 2 - Being the basil fiend that I am I must admit this added another level of joy, all the ingredients are fresh and delicious! 3 - Prices are just right for a lunch for one. Especially if you have a coupon! I can agree with other reviews that I wouldn't make it my destination or go out of my way, but working nearby means I'll be back for sure!
(3)Tyler J.
I like their pizza because its fresh, fast, healthy, and tasty. I especially like the pesto chicken pie, nice to get some low fat protein. you can order their designer combos, or make your own. be advised, if you make your own it may not crisp up on the bottom because you have too many toppings. Their designer pizzas are calibrated so to speak to come out. I usually go with their recipes and add or subtract a few things without getting crazy. Pizzas are small enough and priced right to get a few different to try and have a couple pieces for lunch the next day.
(4)J C.
Great pizza and friendly staff. Wild mushroom pizza was great. Nice fresh flavor with a delicious truffle subtly.
(4)J L.
Excellent thin crust brick oven pizza! The staff is always up beat and friendly. Toppings are fresh and abundant.
(5)Stacey K.
Hopefully they expand more in Colorado because I NEED one of these nearby my house! It's like a Subway for pizza! You can create your own pizza or select one of theirs off the menu then they cook it right in front of you in a brick oven.
(5)Kerry M.
LOVE THIS PLACE! I'm not from up here, but I followed Yelp to this place and am SO HAPPY I did. Vince (very cute) took fantastic care of us, as did everyone else. What a great meal -- got the Rocky Mountain with sausage and meatballs. Ate the whole damn thing even though Vince didn't think I could. (BAM!) Light, airy crust with fresh toppings and wonderful red sauce. Eat here. It will make you happy. I'll be back.
(5)Kyle P.
Very generic, messed up the order twice. Ordered a pizza with basil (of course) and after the second attempt gave up on getting the correct pizza.
(2)Jessica G.
I had the spicy pizza and my bc had the Maui one. Both were good, but my favorite was the LBP chopped salad with the tomato vinaigrette. The goat cheese and cilantro add a great compliment to the salad. I love that they have all the fresh herbs in the back to add fresh flavor to every dish!
(5)Chris B.
Excelent.. small thin crust pies.
(4)Elim H.
Excelent artisan style pizzas. Killer crust, fresh organic ingredients, what more could you ask for. Wish they delivered.
(5)Brenda L.
This place is much like Pizza Locale in Denver or Pieology in San Jose. They have fresh dough that they roll out and top in front of you and they bake it in their open oven. The pizzas are very basic and simple and ingredients are fresh. The canned tomato tins on the tables though kind of throw off the concept of fresh. So it is like a Chipotle style restaurant with the only difference being that they serve pizza rather than burritos. This place is called fresh basil because their toppings area has a bunch of fresh basil in potted planters. What I ordered though had no basil on it. I tried the maui BBQ natural chicken pizza (Smoky BBQ sauce, Italian cheese blend, all natural chicken breast, red onions, pineapple, imported olive oil, fresh cilantro) & the arugula, truffle, wild mushroom pizza (white pizza, Italian cheese blend, shaved Parmesan cheese, marinated wild mushrooms, fresh wild arugula, imported Italian truffle oil. The first one is a little under $9 and the 2nd 1 was a little under $10. Each pizza is enough to serve one person. I preferred the arugula truffle pizza over the maui one because the maui one lacked punch and flavor. It tasted fine but was a bit on the dry side. These aren't your typical pizzas with tons of sauce and cheese so a simpler almost blander taste is to be expected. I do like that these felt healthier though because of that missing cheese/sauce.
(3)Malika H.
I always have nice experiences here! Vince and Jason (manager) were friendly...as always. I had the Chicken Pesto pizza, added artichoke, garlic, and the white sauce. So freakin' good!!! There are plenty of places to get food, but GOOD food, FRESH food, and FRIENDLY people...hard to find. I guess when you DO find it, your dollar goes a long way. It's nice to see smiles, as if they are happy to be there... So appreciated! I suggest trying the Spinach and Goat Cheese side salad. A nice balance of acid with the spinach. I wish it were bigger, but it just makes me want to keep coming back. About 3-4 times a month is about my average. I'm pregnant now, so whatever he/she wants, they get! Thanks Jason and Vince! Keep doing what you're doing. Jason, thanks for the white sauce suggestion...nyum nyum nyum!!!
(5)Jared L.
Great pizza! Visiting Denver and this place is amazing glad we looked yall up! Great customer service and fast. If you have a chance to check this place out DO IT!
(5)Laura A.
Love going here for tasty fast pizza! Deshawn is the man and always on the move to assure I get the best pizza! He is so friendly! He will keep me coming back! Thanks for making me tasty pizza EVERYTIME!

This establishment is located in the Quebec Square - Stapleton, Shopping Strip Mall. After running errands, we wanted something quick and decent to this Live Basil Pizza we went. Yes, you order at the counter, and either they sent it to you at the table you are seating or you can pick up your order at the counter. While the staff preparing the Pizza, in this establishment, you can also find the HUGE PIZZA OVEN, and all the action at the Ordering Counter. This recent visit was on Sunday March 23rd 2014. Little did we know, they were having a Soft Opening in this part of Neighborhood. The cost of each Pizza was between $8 to $10. Each Additional Toppings will cost $0.75. They also offer Gluten Free Crust pizza. The Salads were between $3.50 and $8. The General Manager of this Live Basil Pizza Stapleton Location, his name is Scott Schaden. While we were there, we decide to order the Create Your Own Pizza with the following ingredients : * Pesto Sauce * Chicken * Fresh Jalapeno * Mushrooms (On one Half of the Pizza) * Olives (On the Other Half of the Pizza) * Marinated Peppers We waited for about 10 minutes or so, for our Pizza to be ready. I was surprised that Hubs like what we ordered and had. The combination was good. Then we also opt to have No 7. Maui BBQ Natural Chicken Pizza, and the LBP Chopped Salad WITHOUT The Bacon TO GO. I like the CYO Pizza with Pesto Sauce, The Best, 2nd Favorite was the one with Feta Cheese. Hubs favorite was the CYO Pizza, following the Maui BBQ Natural Chicken Pizza. All in all, we liked what we ordered. DEFINITELY returning to this location since its CLOSEST to where we live and may do some events with them in the near future. There is also a Patio seating area, if you intend to have your meal outside. Left the establishment about 15:45hrs ish. I like it! Quick, fresh, and choose your own ingredients. Salad was good and so were the garlic knots.
(5)Yann B.
Always delicious. Friendly service by all, especially Anarely and Deanna. Delicious pizza.
(5)Chad S.
Pizza is good and the folks working here are cool and like to have a good time. Vince is a smooth trippin dude!
(4)Jennifer B.
Fast and casual pizza place from the Smashburger visionary, would that be Smashpizza? The concept is like a Chipotle, move your way down the counter and watch your pizza be made in front of your eyes as the young folk behind the counter assemble your pizza. Toppings are all fresh, and it's certainly nice to see the basil growing fresh behind the counter. Fast pizza is a wonderful concept and I believe some places pull it off well, unfortunately fast here equals a warm bordering on cool pizza within seconds of hitting the table. Don't get me wrong, the pizza is cooked it just hasn't spent enough time in the oven to generate that lasting heat you look for in a pizza. The salads are top notch and I'm seriously addicted to LBP Chopped Salad. It has all the best ingredients and is my salad of choice when craving something leafy and fresh. The portion almost seems extra-large and could easily be shared if desired. It's fast and convenient and they make a solid pizza, not a destination but it works if you're hungry and in the area.
(3)Aine C.
I really like the idea of live basil pizza, a personalized pizza which you get to pick all your delicious toppings right before your eyes. Like the Chipotle or Subway of pizza making! But every time I come here, the pizza is always soggy and under-cooked when I get home. I will say they are working on this, and last time I went the staff told me to get 5 or less toppings because it's difficult to cook all the way through otherwise. I really appreciated this, so I got four toppings and I'm not a meat eater so I figured this would be much easier to cook. But that pizza was still wet in the center, so I would just encourage this place to cook the pies a little longer. The last pie I ordered to go, I just put it in my oven when I got home and it was really delicious.

I was staying in a local hotel and ventured out for dinner (was later warned that was a dangerous thing to do as it's not a safe neighborhood at night). I liked the menu displayed outside and it looked cozy in (was cold and misting outside) so I went in. They have a have a huge menu on the back wall. I found myself a little lost in it and since a few people were starting to line up behind me, I approached the counter, behind which were pizza toppings and salads and the fresh basil. The guy taking orders assumed I knew the program for ordering a pie. I had no idea. What cheese? Well, um, what are the options? OK, that one. I'd like mushrooms. ..."We're out of mushrooms." WHAT?! How do you run out of mushrooms at 6:51pm? Dammit. Pepperoni, sausage and bacon, please. Step down the line, order anything else, pay ($9.13) and have a seat. The pie was brought out quickly and it was one of those times you look at the plate and think, gee, I can't eat all of this. Guess I'll take some home! But the crust was so thin that it was not outside the realm of possibilities to eat it all. Nice crust, still covered in flour, crisp and held up well. Sauce was good. The toppings were spare and not at all edged (meaning most of the toppings were found in the center of the pie so your last few bites of each slice is nothing but cheese. All in all, I was satisfied. The pie was good, the cheese fresh and the atmosphere was comfortable. It was difficult to place my order, they were out of shrooms, could have put more ingredients on the pie and edged the toppings, but I'd go back.
(3)Elisabeth B.
My pizza was burnt along with three others I saw that were served before mine. It tasted...eh....ok. I will definitely be choosing a different place for my next pizza craving.
(2)Allen W.
Awesome pizza place. Fresh ingredients, nice ambience. They have several pizzas to choose from or you can make your own. No charge for extra toppings which is a nice touch. Owners are very friendly and customer service was top notch. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Priyanka B.
Awesome organic healthy and fresh pizza.. I loved it. I and my friend had been to live basil for 1st time. We had a wonderful experience people over there are so friendly and they do recommend u the best pizza based on ur choice . i loved veggie pizza with topping like tomatoes, spinach, corn, basil, parmesan cheese... Specially corn loved it
(5)Jonathan E.
I gave this a try at around 11 a.m. and while they were ready to place my order for pizza, the super high tech drink machine was stuck downloading the world's largest soda porn video (or something to that effect) and I never got my anticipated caffeine/sugar fix. To be fair, the manager offered a free bev from their point of sale case, but nothing appealed to me at the moment. As for the pizza, I ordered the "Hot One" and after sitting down, was told they were missing a key ingredient, so it was suggested I try green chiles instead. Fine. The pizza arrived and was big enough for two. I thought the somewhat thin crust was nice and the toppings were well spread. However I got hit with numerous heat elements (jalapenos, green chili sauce, etc) and it slightly overwhelmed everything else. I'm a sauce guy and can't remember it. I like gooey cheese from the oven and this pie didn't dance. Again, the staff were 100% super friendly and helpful. But this place sits in a weird place for me... it's somewhat fashioned after Subway/Chipotle, but at $10+ per meal, I wont be a regular at lunch, nor is it charming enough for dinner.
(2)N X.
We just strolled into this place because we needed to eat before our flight out. This place turned out to be great. A little pizza and bread knots shared between us was delectable. I'd recommend it any day.
(5)Jenny M.
Great fast wood fired thin crust pizza with high quality toppings at a really fair price. The arugula truffle mushroom was awesome. Also really enjoyed the side of cheese bread. BBQ pizza was very good but not OMG. Can't wait to return and try the prime rib pizza, side meatballs, salads or pan chocolate chip cookie dessert. It was pretty busy but the pizza was out less than 5 minutes after we paid. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely a step up from Micii's, but not in the same league as Basic Kneads. Our neighborhood pizza choice from now on!
(4)A R.
Great tasting pizza! Fantastic service! Fresh ingredients! And lots of laughter/fun with the employees...who could ask for more on a Friday night! Thanks Vince! Sincerely, "Mayo" and friend :)
(5)Serena S.
Trying to find someplace with gluten-free options, near out hotel we came across this place. It had insanely delicious gluten-free pesto pizza with chicken. If I find myself in Colorado I'll hit this place.
(4)Courtney M.
Just tried Live Basil for the first time. It was honestly the best pizza I've had in a long time, and certainly the best of this style. Vince is hilarious and knows how to blend the topping flavors expertly. He made excellent suggestions for toppings. We really appreciated that they have gluten free crust available, and their regular crust is the perfect balance of crispy and soft. Will definitely be back!
(5)Phyllis S.
This my first time here for my husband and I both ordered gluten free crust and he had diff veggies as I had diff stuff as well this best Pizza I had and very health I will be back for sure .. We need more these pls put 1 in California that's where I'm from ...

So I've been want to check out the spot for a long time. Today I received a coupon for a free pizza. All I had to do was pay a side and a drink. I didn't want to wait in line so I called ahead and place my order. When I asked the guy what time it would be ready he told me in about 15 minutes because they were busy. So I gave them 15 minutes and went to pick up my pizza. Apparently it had died down by the time I got there, there weren't many people inside and only two at the counter. One of the two was getting his pizza boxed up as I approached. I told him that I was there to pick up my pizza and gave him my name, the guy then immediately went over to the pizza station and started making a pizza. It was my pizza that he started to make. Of course I was taken aback but especially since he didn't tell me what was going on. When I asked he apologized and said they were incredibly busy. He told me that the pizza would be on him. I told him that I appreciate it but I already had a coupon for free pizza. He apologized again and then paid for the drink and the side, so my meal was free. That's good service. Now let's get to the food. I ordered a pizza and a side salad. The pizza was topped with chicken, bacon, fresh mozzarella, mushrooms, and pineapple. This is more of a healthy take on pizza. The ingredients were light and fresh. I would've cared for a little bit more mozzarella... Okay, maybe a lot a bit! The crust was incredibly thin. It was light and crispy. Overall I really like the flavor and the texture of it all. My only complaint would be that they cooked mine a little too long, scorching half of the pizza's outside edge. A review of the pictures posted showed me this was not the norm. I'm giving them four stars because of the way they handled the situation and because the pizza was very tasty. Oh, and the side salad was delicious!

Pizza is great! Nice crisp crust just like I asked for it! Super cheap prices! 8.45 for unlimited toppings! The employees here are great they are all very energetic and nice. My first time here was great and even though the menu was a little overwhelming, Anarely did a great job letting me taste all the sauces and explaining what combinations work together. Super pleased with my Winner! Hot one add Pineapple great suggestion by the crew and definitely one of my favorite eats!

Quick, fresh and delicious. I usually stay away from chains, but this place was a win.

A Chipotle style serving line greets you as you walk in. I had the "Rocky Mountain," since it has green chillies (a Colorado must have). The guy making our pizzas was personable and responsive. There was three other people with me and we stood in the serving line as our pizzas were made. It was a long time to stand there and it seemed like the guy making our pizzas was moving fast to keep the line moving... But it just didn't seem like an efficient setup. And it almost seemed painful for the guy to have eight eyes watching him. The pizzas were fresh and very good. The quality is high and it wasn't greasy like pizza often is. This place is good and worth a visit!

Tasty, inexpensive pizza in a poorly-run establishment. We got there fairly late in the evening, but at least an hour from closing, and had trouble finding a clean table. The only "craft beer" they had available was coors light. They served us our pizza on cardboard pizza boxes because they had ran out of clean plates.

Had a good experience with LBP - the guys working were personable and very friendly. Was disappointed that the only vegan cheese option was cheddar - wouldn't Daiya mozzarella seem like a (much) more sensible option?! Ended up just going cheese-less, otherwise would've rated 5-stars...

Just ok, it's not too hard to screw up pizza, right? I'm assuming their ingredients might be of better quality than chain delivery's, but I'd definitely recommend blackjack pizza across the street. It tastes better, better value, and more for the toppings.

First time at the new location. They are living up to their reputation - which is good. Got my usual Chicken pesto but at this place they have half sizes which is perfect for me.

Saturday night craving pizza and its a short walk from the hotel. Friendly service. We had a margherita , farmers market pizza and the LBP chopped salad. One of the pizzas had hair in the crust and that kinda put us off. Other than that the flavor was good, nice crispy crust. Farmers market was the better of the two. The salad was a good portion and right mix of ingredients. Finished with a chocolate gelato shake that was tasty.

Live Basil is a new small pizza chain based in Denver. I'm not much on chain pizza but after a look at their menu I decided to give it a try. Live Basil advertises all fresh ingredients which are also organic. To me fresh is important. The organic not so much, to me this is more a marketing ploy which in the end adds cost. Interestingly enough I didn't see higher prices reflected in the menu. Inside you will find something similar to what Chipotle is to Mexican, Five Guys / Smash Burger is to burgers. Not really true fast food, but high quality product cook to order in a short amount of time. Think gourmet-ish fast-ish food Neapolitan style pizza. After a look at the menu I chose the sausage and wild mushroom. It was interesting to see that there were a number of very thin dough's premade and formed already on a wooden peel ready to be dressed. All toppings are visible behind a glass partition making it very easy to do a custom pie if you choose, you also get to see your pizza made which can be fun for kids. After being dressed your pizza is slid into an open faced gas fired pizza oven. By the time I paid and filled my drink glass the pizza was done. It looked great, very thin crust, not over done on the toppings. It was very good, almost excellent, the only problem being the crust. The dough was rolled, not formed by hand. When a dough is rolled it forces all the tiny gas pockets formed by the yeast to collapse, losing the yeast leaving a somewhat bland tasting crust. Still the crust was crispy with an excellent char. The toppings were excellent! All in all I was very happy with my lunch. Live Basil serves quite an upscale pizza for a very reasonable price, $8 to $9 for what appears to be about 11" pie. A single pizza should be about perfect for a single adult, keeping in mind the very thin crust. Service was good, maybe a little disjointed, but perfectly acceptable. Inside everything was very clean. Live Basil is a unique concept in a pizzeria that works well. Recommended.
