Ate here for the first time after years of saying "I should try that place.". Very glad I did. My husband had even been there and he is a very meat and potatoes kind if guy and he liked it. I thought the price for my takeout combination plate was fantastic. Great deal for three different meats and sides and sauces. Only reason it did not get 4 stars from me is because its in need if some cosmetic repairs to the dining area. Kind of a dive type of place but the food more than makes up for it.

Stopped by before catching a flight. I actually only needed to stop by the charming bakery next door, but decided to get lunch here as well. Our server was nice. Provided great information about the different dishes and also provided get recommendations. You start you meal of with a yummy petite salad with a house made dressing. The dressing has a bit of a zesty city's taste, in other words really good. Next, they bring out a huge plate f hummus with pita wrappings-this acts as your appetizer, which is really good stuff. Then the main dish is out within minutes. I ordered the chicken curry (PLEASE refer to my picture) The chicken curry is really delicious. Not to oily with the perfect amount of spice. I ended up walking out with left overs because the plates are nice and big. You definitely get your moneys worth. Since we were just visiting Colorado, I am so glad we stumbled into this really nice-family owned restaurant. I highly recommend this place!!! ... They have a dish that would fit just about anyone's favorite flavor.

Food is amazing here! Definitely a mom and pop shop but great service and food. I had the vegetarian platter and it did not disappoint. You get hummus and pita to start and probably best hummus I've had. My husband had the kabob combo and the meat was fresh and not dry like some places. This place is a must try!

Not a really friendly bunch but I got take out so I didn't get the full sit down experience. the food is quite good. Schwarma is excellent and the rice is good. Good traditional food.

We ate here for the first time about a month ago. We have been back a few times after. I absolutely love this place. I could eat here twice a week and not get sick of it. Their hummus is the best I have had. Have been recommending to all my friends.

Today I surprised my little birthday boy with a lunch date, I can't believe he's 8! He chose the Kabob station on 120th because he/we LOVE the baklava! When we ordered Carlos (our server) told us they were out of it. My son was sad and I told him I'd bring him back another time for it. Carlos left to put in our order. Mid meal Carlos left the restaurant....when he came back he had two desserts for my son! He had gone to the bakery down the way to get him something for his birthday because he felt so bad and didn't want to disappoint him on his birthday! Not only that but then didn't even charge us for our whole meal! I have had good service, but never anything like that! It was the sweetest thing! I asked him if he'd take a picture with my birthday boy who he made feel so happy and special! Way to go Carlos, what an upstanding guy! :-)

Under new management, changed menu. Things have changed for the worst. No more pita and hummas for lunch, or baklava for lunch. And what was once a crowded lunch place is now a place where the employees out number the customers.

Really good Falafel sandwiches, but truly the worst french fries I have come across. They are limp, and unsalted.

Kabob station is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant , the owners are syrian and they are very kind. They have minor changes to the food because of the new cook , but it's still Great! , dishes I like , gyros , chicken shawarma ,kabob , I can say everything. This place is good and alway will be .

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. When I arrived I thought it was closed. The waitress said sit wherever. I wanted the lamb shank and she said hold on let me see if we have any. Sadly they were out. I ordered a meat sampler. Chicken, lamb, and beef. The chicken was dry. The lamb was seriously one bite. The beef was served in strips. I was very disappointed.

I love Kabob Station! The hummus is great and the gyro meat is excellent. And you can't beat the price. Total hole in the wall, but worth it.

Not a review of the business but the clientele, although they could clearly take a management course right down the street at the local college. Stopped by a business near and saw two teenagers fighting outside the front door and almost had to break it up myself.

Found this place thanks to Yelp, quite honestly I never would have without help. It's tucked into a strip mall which does a good job of hiding the place. The menu is very basic with little selection at lunch. This was fine with me as I always enjoy a good shawarma. So that what I ordered. Honestly it was decent but it wasn't anything that would bring me back in, it was very bland and lacked character. I didn't feel that was anything wrong with the meal but I doubt I'll return. The interior sytlings were also kind of a downer which may have played on my desision to give it three stars over four.

The food here is amazing. The chef is from Syria so the spices are slightly different than other Mediterranean places I've been to. I thought the staff was very friendly. They even have is free dessert. You get back what you put out, honestly so for the persons who said the wait staff was bad.... Its a different culture, remember that.

I was planning to go to another Kabob place in the area but fortunately it was closed and I found Kabobs Station in the neighbouring compound. The food is awesome and right priced. I ordered the meat combination plate for two and I must say it was the best Middle Eastern food I have had in Denver. Definitely visiting again. Cheers !

I have been coming to this place on and off for about 9 years. Yes, it's under "new" management but the "new" management is actually the same guy who was one of the original cooks. We are so happy he's back because his food was the best! When we first started coming here, we liked it for its hummus and fresh pita. The hummus was the tastiest hummus I could get anywhere in the Denver area. My husband would usually order the hummus with shawarma and I would get the veggie combo. We were addicted to their food. Then suddenly something happened... their food wasn't the same anymore. We discovered that there was a new cook. The food was not consistent. It was always hit or miss but never the way it was when we first started coming. I don't remember how long ago this was but this was maybe about 5 years ago? Some little bird told me that there was a family conflict and one day the awesome cooks were gone, Mohammed (sp?) and Fadi (sp?). Recently, the family that owned the restaurant sold it and now Mohammed is back taking part in running it. I have noticed that the quality of the food has improved drastically. I now order the King Combo plate and each time, the baba ganoush is amazingly fresh. The times I have ordered it the last few years, there were times when the baba ganoush was simply inedible ---- old. The menu is a little different now too, definitely better. The portions are bigger. The "new" owners say they make their food fresh every day.

I tried their 'Special Greek Salad' with Gyro meat on top... it was lackluster and not very impressive. The Gyro meat is char-broiled, which added a different flavor/texture than what I'm used to (rotisserie). It stated this on the menu, but I still gave it a shot - and now I know, it's not my preference. I just moved from the place dubbed "Little Athens"... and aptly so, as we were surrounded by a large assortment of Greek bakeries, Greek restaurants, Greek groceries... and Greeks in general. I knew I would be difficult to please after 5 years of some of the most amazing Greek food I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. That said, this place landed a spot firmly at the bottom of my newly assembled list of Greek/Mediterranean joints in the Denver/Boulder area. It just wasn't that great... the quality of ingredients, the flavor, the meat... all just blah. It lacked that certain sort of authenticity. Also, they might want to consider getting an email address or (at very minimum) an answering machine for their business. I wanted to place an order a day or so ahead of time, but couldn't get a hold of anyone.

The first time I ate here the food was delicious but the service was in need of some training. After a long day at work I decided to call an impromptu date night on the way home and met my better half for dinner. The restaurant was empty except for the two of us and there was a new server. She was absolutely amazing and although she constantly saw to our needs; drinks, constant fresh bread with our hummus, a perfectly executed entree, she never felt over bearing but instead made me feel as if I was dinning at a 5 star restaurant. I also tried a different dish from my first visit and was shocked that it was even better. On my first visit I ordered the lamb kabobs which were cooked perfectly and tasted great. This time I choose the chicken schwarma (sp?) and mixed it with the Tazikhi sauce and rice.... WOW it was an epic explosion of so many great flavors dancing on my taste buds. The food is so fresh and juicy and flavorful..... You can't believe you're eating such a great meal with amazing service for the price. I highly recommend this small unassuming restaurant. Do not be fooled by its humble scenery. Let the food and service take you on an adventure.

This place USE to be so tasty! It seems as though they had a change in owner and unfortunately that might explain the quality of food. I was somehow talked into giving them another try after getting food poisoning from moldy rice after the change happened with a promise that the cooks are now well trained. I stopped in for lunch and recieved microwaved packaged pita bread (and only 2 slices with my appetizer) I ordered some sandwhiches togo and I got home and they are wrapped in a store bought flour tortilla!!! I got the chicken shwarma and I can honestly say I've had a better warp from Taco Bell. The cutting of corners here terrifies me! I got sick last time because whoever is running this place now is too cheap to throw out old rice and is serving it and making people sick to save a buck. I am the first person to support local businesses but be prepared to feel ill!

Came for lunch with my family several days ago and was very happily impressed. We were greeted by friendly staff, told to sit where we liked and that they could easily half any full meal portion for our children. Hummus and pita bread were yummy, gyro meat was delish, and Taziki sauce great! Food overall was very good and affordable!! We will definitely come back in thr near future.

We absolutely love this place! I could eat the fresh pita bread with baba ganouj and hummus all day long they are soooo good! I love the gyro meat and my favorite dish is the hummus with chicken schwarma - YUM! The service has always been great, and the atmosphere is cozy.

My wife and I have been going to Kabob Station off on for about 10 years. Our last trip we noticed a change in the food quality. The Falafels had changed and so did the quality of the Pita Bread. The Baba Ganoush was even a bit different. They usually had their deserts displayed in a glass front unit. There were no deserts in it. The cook seemed a bit overwhelmed even though help did gradually arrive. I asked the waitress where the owner was. She gave me the impression that she had actually never met him but had heard of him. Faddi "sp?" used to be the main face behind the counter and the grill. I hope he returns to be more proactive in his business because I want to enjoy the food that I have used as a standard for Middle Eastern Cuisine.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT...and it's a shame, what was once our favorite restaurant is now lame!!! The lunch special while $.50 cents cheaper no longer comes with hummus and pitas, drink or baklava...The salad comes with glops of oregano and is quite sour. Even the fresh cut fries are gone... Sad...we used to go there about twice a month...now we will not return!

BLAND Food + SLOW Service = STAY AWAY. You are way better off going to the Sultans Grill in Arvada.

The waitress was super friendly! She let us sample the hummus which was AMAZING!! I ordered an original gyro and I LOVED it!! The meat was tender and so flavorful and the sauce was perfect!! My husband got the chicken schwarma gyro and neither of us liked it as much as the regular one!! It wasn't gross by any means just not as delicious as the original!! Just writing this review has me wanting to go back for more hummus and another gyro!! I will for sure be a repeat customer!!!

  • Lael H.

Under new management, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The quality of the gyro, hummus, and baba was excellent, and the portions were much larger than the past. Additionally, I had forgotten my wallet when I went to pick up our food and they let me take our meal home on my word that I would call back with a credit card number.

Great lunch specials and amazing hummus. Rhonda has always been so nice and seems to remember me, even though I only go there a couple times a year now that I live and work in Arvada. They're always super quick and you can't beat the price.

This place is excellent. The service and atmosphere are fine. Just, whatever. You go there for the food. The lunch special is a smokin' deal - I get a skewer of chicken kabob and it comes with hummus, pita, rice, salad and THE BEST baklava in town. $7.95 - can't beat that! Especially on the north side of town. There are not many other middle eastern restaurants in the Broomfield/Westminster area - this one is head and shoulders above the other ones. I'm half-Iranian so I've been eating excellent, authentically-prepared kabob for 33 years. I have to say - I tend to like Lebanese kabob better than the Iranian kabob my family makes, but I like the Syrian kabob at this place even better. It is SO good.

Great food. Great service. A friend and I rolled in on a Saturday evening with a groupon. The mushroom skewers are incredible! The King Combo is a sampler of their kabobs and vegetarian entrees. It was great. I really enjoyed the lamb and the Baba Ganouj. The pita bread is really good as well. And, the Baklava, is to die for! We didn't realize how late we were running, we were headed to a show at Wits End after dinner. We let our server know and she told us that everything there is made to order, not pre-made, but she'd let the kitchen know. We enjoyed our meal and still made it to the show, so all was well. And, it's good to know your food is made when you get there, not sitting in a warming pot :) This place could use a liqor license. Otherwise, it's just great.

I've always driven by the Kabob Station plenty of times.... read some reviews on Yelp.. till I finally talked my bf into tryin the place! The hummus is awesome, smooth and delicious. The pita bread is nice hot, thin and to drool over. We ordered an ap - sampler (hummus, baba ghanouj, grape leaves, tabbouleh, fafafel and fatoush salad), and a kabob combination plate (lamb, chicken, kafta, chicken shawarma, and lamb and beef shawarma), so we could decide which meats we liked best! I am usually a big fan of lamb but surprisingly my favorites were everything on the damn ap plate - plus the chicken. So flavorful, bright and vibrant! The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy was the best pairing on some pita bread w/ hummus, tzatziki sauce and some of the fatoush salad. The service was quick and the waitress wasnt messing around. I recommend this place for a flavorful lunch.

I go to the Kabob Station fairly regulary as it is right across from work. For less than 10 bucks you can get a great appetizer, bread, meal and a dessert. Frankly a really amazing deal. The service can be a bit slow as their only seems to be one person running the tables but the food is worth the wait. cheers Steve

I really want to like this place as much as other people do. The seating here is just awkward, you are literally rubbing elbows with other people. I can forgive this..as I can tell the people who run the place really do put effort into their food. However effort does not overrule execution, the pita was a little stale, the hummus was meh. Nothing that drove me crazy. I had the chicken kabab, which was edible enough but still underseasoned and dry --I just had higher expectations. Even the lemonade tasted odd. Perhaps I just went on an off night. All that coupled with an iffy server who wasn't sure what she was doing, yeah it's not a place I would want to eat at often. Not completely ruling out returning, because I would...only in certain scenarios (if I'm with uncompromising friends who refuse to eat anywhere else or I'm in the area and need something that mimics my mom's food).

This is a pretty good little middle eastern spot in Westminster. Very simple seating and decor, but good food and adequate service (especially if you like being left alone). The hummus is very good, so are the pitas. The gyros are good, but the falafel leaves something to be desired. Everything except the meat seems to be a tad under-spiced but maybe it's just the Syrian take on things, I'm not sure. Either way, I'm a fan. Get the meat! Also, quite affordable!

  • Johnny C.

Good lunch special: Pita sandwhich, fries & drink for $5.95. The fresh cut fries tasted great and were nice & crispy. The place is clean and makes a slight attempt at decorating in a Middle East theme, of course people from the Great Plains think its a Greek Restauranrt. It is kind of depressing inside, the waitress looks bored becasue the # of seats is too few to merit a waitress. There is no music and you can hear middle eastern arguing in the kitchen, pots clanging and food being chopped. My pita sandwhich had a reasonable amount of meat but lacked anything else except iceberg lettuce and one miniscule piece of tomato. The white sauce (yougurt?) was also watery and 80% of it ended up on my chin and the plate. I think I would rate Kabob station higher and eat their regularly if it were more of an order and pay at the counter type place. The experience is just not worth the time to sit and order and then wait to pay and also tip.

  • Renu D.

I always go here after the lunch rush - because it always has heavy lunch rush. Not because there is no other place for lunch in the neighborhood, but because the food is such that you can eat it over and over again. Their pita bread is fresh, and melts in the mouth, gyros are great tasting and so are the chicken kabobs. I like their portions sizes, which are just right. I always finish eating what I order. Ah!

    (4)
  • Paul Z.

let me get this out of the way: the so called fries are crap. The meat and hummus are fantastic! Great Syrian food and great people if you get to know them. Dinner is better than lunch as there are more choices.

I've been coming to Kabob Station for a dozen years. I love the family- so kind, helpful and friendly, and the food is awesome. However, over the past 2 years or so, the portions got smaller and the prices went up a bit, too. I guess that's the same everywhere in this economy, though, but today's order just seemed.... meh. Another issue was that this afternoon, not a one of the family members were in there. Not to make it too big of a deal, but I go in here for the truly authentic experience- cooked by my Middle Eastern friends, and to listen to a bit of their native music while waiting for my food. Today nothing.... silence. The place was empty, cold and uninviting, and the experience: uninspired. The one-and-only waitress today was sub-par, at best. Forgetful, made simple mistakes- even over-charged a woman on her credit card, and had to refund the difference in cash. I ordered Baklava and after bagging my food, and seeing a small container sitting off to the side, I had to ask...."Did you include my Baklava?" Thank goodness I did, because she was like... "Oh, I knew I was forgetting something." A minor mistake, sure, but combined with being "ditzy," she wasn't warm or engaging in any other way, either. I even asked about the Hookah bar next door... "Is it still open," I asked? She says: I think so, I'm not so sure. I asked: "Is it still owned by the same family that owns this place?" She said,"I am not sure who owns it. I don't think the family who runs this place ever owned it." B.S., I say. I know for a fact that the family owned the Hookah bar. I remember when they opened it. The sign out front is even split in half above both businesses to read "Kabob Station....... & Hookah" with wooden signs above each door that EACH say Kabob Station. C'Mon, lady! Take an interest in the place you are working at! Food: The beef kabobs were dry and over-done, the falafel, which I am sure used to be made by hand, were shaped too perfectly to be hand-made. I fear that they were frozen. And, in days past when I would order extra pita bread, they'd toss it on the grill, slice it and wrap it in foil to keep it hot. Today. I got a few extra pieces tossed into the bag that they came in.... with a brand name called "Good Bread" out of Santa Ana, CA. Not bad bread, mind you..... but really? It used to be so good, and even if it wasn't home-made, at least I had the illusion that it was! I want so bad for Kabob Station to stick around. I love them.... or at least I did. I understand the need to get away sometimes....maybe it's Spring Break and you guys deserve a break with your families, too.... but PLEASE don't leave your restaurant in the hands of people who are just plain BLAH and don't care about the place, the food, or even care to engage the customer. It makes me fear the worst for your restaurant. I'll be back, I am sure.... but not for a while.

Hummus schmummus. This place has two great, hard-to-find dishes that my Syrian-Jewish grandmother used to make -- stuffed kibbe and l'achma b'ajeen (a Middle Eastern take on pizza. Drizzle some tahini on it.) Both are well prepared here, nicely spiced and worth the trip. I have given the place only three stars because the atmosphere is not much. But it's cheap, and the menu has some items I haven't seen since I lived in San Francisco.

Some co-workers raved about this lunch spot. I had the vegetarian lunch platter. Everything tasted good. It was pretty small portions of each item.

  • Avjit D.

The lady who was serving/managing was awesome. The place was clean. Unfortunately that's as good as it got. The food was sub-par at best. The kabab was extremely dry and under spiced. Since the kabob/kabab is the restaurants namesake I would expect better. By spice I don't mean to imply a simple lack of heat......the food was simply lacking flavor of any discernible variety. It's a pity because, as mentioned, the service was fantastic and the lunch prices were ridiculously cheap.

We first started going to Kabob Station 4 years ago when we moved up here. I LOVE Middle Eastern food and could not wait to try a new place. As the other readers have said....the Hummus is GREAT!! I have been known to go buy there and pick up just Hummus and Pita Bread to take to a party. Also, as noted by a few others, the downfall of the Station is the atmosphere and the service. It seems that they always have one waitress running like crazy and a few guys cooking in the back yelling at her. It has been our experience that the waitresses do not seem to last very long, but the wait times do!! The Gyro meat is excellent. Just do not expect much from the "salad" that they serve with the meal. I always ask them to leave it off because it is basically wilted lettuce with green tomatoe chunks. The Chicken Shawarma is delicous and my 13-year-old always likes the steak kabobs.

Kabob station is our go-to middle eastern place. Family owned. Try the lentil soup, and their babaganoush is awesome. Great prices and great for takeout! Update, August 2011, I think this place is under new ownership, unfortunately the food just wasn't the same.

What's not to like about a good freshly made pita and some well seasoned hummus combined with the meat or veggie of your choice? Combine that with some of the best french fries I've had at a restaurant in recent memory and low prices, you've got another winner (and it's up North!). I've finally figured out that there probably isn't a middle eastern style restaurant that is going to make their own gyros so I've gotta quit ordering my lamb baloney at every MESR I go to. I had the shawarma beef and lamb entree and it was tasty. I have grown so accustomed to the way Jerusalem Restaurant's dishes are served that I did find myself missing the saffron or turmeric flavor in the rice and fresh parsley in the dish but this was good nonetheless and fresh pita! Jay-ru still is my present fav for a MESR but hey, any (good) port in a storm, or as Stephen Stills put it, " Love the One Your With".

I've been going here for many years now and am so glad to find good Kabobs, Gyros and Hummus in this part of town. The service has always been very good and the prices are very reasonable, especially the lunch specials. The only negative I have is that the fries are a bit greasy. Overall a good little place (limited seating) close to home, which I really like. Give it a try!

I like gyros. I like kabobs. Problem with me is that I hate hummus and I don't like the taste of typical Mediterranean veggie sides that they force onto your plate that you have to eat to get full at most Med restaurants. My PIC Jason S told me about this place and so I had to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised at my experience and have been going back regularly for lunch. Now granted, I haven't been in for dinner service yet, but their lunch is absolutely fantastic. For 6 bucks you get soda, choice of meat in yo sammich, and fries. Their sandwiches are made fresh, with warm pita bread, your choice of filling and lettuce and tzatziki sauce. I started with shawarma but have migrated towards the gyros. It is absolutely delectable. And remember this is coming from someone who normally dislike Mediterranean sauces and greens. I would, if given the chance, shave an endless gyros strip into my mouth from their place. Seriously tasty. Fries are also made fresh, they're not uniform cut which I can only assume means they hand-cut the fries from potatoes. The fries can sometimes be overdone, but they're actually not a dried-out, starchy type overdone but rather crispy, crunchy type overdone. Om nom nom. The atmosphere has been quite quiet the last few times I went towards the end of lunch hour. Good place to get away from the busy hustle bustle of work. They don't have weird ambient music that I recall, which is a huge plus for ethnic restaurants (i.e. I don't need Daler Mehndi playing in the background to know I'm in an Indian restaurant; the curry in front of me is loud enough). The only thing I can complain about this place is that I don't know if it's their tinted windows or what it is, but I cannot get a signal with Verizon in there. Which makes my solo lunch a bit boring if the cute waitress isn't working. tl; dr - great place for lunch, oo-wee shut my mouth, slap yo grandma.

I've been going here for several years now ever since my husband stumbled across it during his lunch hour one day. Well, I can NOT get enough of this place! I don't eat there as often as I wish, but that's only because money is tight in this economy right now. But, whenever I can, I will eat there! Sometimes I just call in an order of pita bread and hummus to munch on for several days. Otherwise, my favorites are the chicken schwarma and the gyro meat (which is a beef/lamb combo that is grilled to deliciousness!) I also LOVE their tzatziki sauce! Really, I love everything I've eaten there! I personally have never found their service to be bad. Their wait times can be high, but never so much that I was waiting for more than 20 minutes or so. The place is VERY small and "cozy". So, if there are people waiting to be seated, most of the other people that are dining will notice the folks waiting and will not "doddle" during their meal. They nearly always enjoy their meal, pay their waitress and then vacate the establishment. Also, as long as I've been eating there, I've nearly always enjoyed the same few waitresses which are family members of the owner. Perhaps it's the times that I eat there that I have always had the same waitstaff. Regardless, they may be rushed, but I've never been treated poorly. Now, my mouth is watering...I think I will be eating there tonight!

Excellent hummas! The rest of the food is good as well, but it can be a bit expensive for dinner (lunch specials are a good price). Family run, the place is small and can have a wait sometimes. They do take-out but it also takes a little while.

The Kabob Station's hummus is the hummus by which I measure all other hummus. Unfortunately though, I moved away from the area and to SE Aurora and don't have their hummus much anymore. Their lamb & beef shawarma is some of the best I've had in the area and is rarely dried out the way I've experienced at other establishments in the metro area. On top of the great hummus and shawarma, the prices are very reasonable. Although the atmosphere may be something of an aquired taste, it's worth checking out and enjoying.

I went here based on the good reviews but I was really disappointed. The service was horrible so it was even hard to get passed that. The prices were good the pita was fresh...probably the best part of the whole experience. I had the gyro sandwich special (sandwich, fried, drink) $5.95 however the fries which were real potatoes were soggy and not crispy as a fellow yelper attested to. The meat was of good quality but was insanely bland for gyro meat...I think I would at least taken salty over bland. The taziki sauce was just as bland. A med wrap with no pickled veggie isn't a med wrap to me. I usually have a falafel test to measure the quality of med food but I was feeling like meat. Problem is, not taking a chance to go back and test anything else.

I'm not Greek..but I like Mediterranean foods. I moved into the area a few years ago and tried this place due to convenience. Kabob Station is not my first choice for Greek food..I've had better, everything from the Gyros to the Lamb shank..The food here is expensive for what you get and the quality is just ok..The portions are small and the lamb Gyros don't taste right.

Hummus, falafel, kabobs - it is all good. Great prices, great service. (The other reviewers have it right on about the hummus in particular - it is outstanding!)

Best hummus and pita bread I've ever had. We tend to get take out because the place is super-tiny and the service tends to be "functional" at best. Although, if you're in the mood, it can be a lot of fun to watch the staff (who I assume are family) argue with and/or tease each other throughout the night. It's kind of like going to someone's house for dinner. The food, though, trumps all. Everything I've had has been excellent. I tend to stick to the Kabob Station Combo of the King Combo just so I can get a bit of everything.

This is a great lunch for a great value. Lunch included an appetizer of hummus AND baklava for dessert. The hummus tastes really good, the service was quick and easy, and the value of the lunch astounded me. I had the Gyro sandwich with drink special, and I was very impressed by the pita bread and the quality of the meat. Tried to go back to Kabob Station last night for dinner, but they are sadly closed for the holidays. Will definitely be going back in 2010!

I'm from Chicago, here in the Denver area. As usual, I'm trying to avoid chain restaurant food. From yelp, I found Kabob Station. It has to be the best kabob I have ever had. The Hummus was smooth, home made pita. I wish i could find food like this back home!

This is one more example of a restaurant I was hoping to love. It's a small hole in the wall restaurant with pleasant decor even if they don't use any air conditioning. Unfortunately, the food was near crap quality. The menu says the juice is squeezed when ordered, but Lemonade must not count as juice since the pitcher of instant lemonade was stored right up front at the waitress cooler. I know some restaurants try to get away with having dumpy kids food, since the parents will never try it, but HOLY SHIT. My son's food looked horrible. The fries on his kids meal were soggy and glistening with grease. They looked like Ore-Ida fries from the grocery store. The chicken nuggets looked dry and very dead. My appetizer (meat pies) sat on the counter while the waitress did her homework. At one point the cook picked it back up, stuck his fingers on it to test the temperature... then he sniffed it. Wait... WTF. When it finally got to my table they were inedible. They had the soggy consistency of grocery store microwavable hot pocket. My main dish was the lamb kabobs. The meat was a little tougher than I would expect. Unfortunately tough lamb and the rice were the best part of my experience here. Two stars... only because I didn't get food poisoning. Good: Hole-In-The-Wall Easy Parking No Lines (yet, still a lot of waiting. Pfft) Bad: Everything tastes microwaved Poor service All the simple things they do wrong are so easy to fix if they actually gave a shit. The fact that they don't makes me think they are probably under poor management. Uh... why is the waitress doing her homework while my food is waiting to go to the table... hello? Simply put, I've had better Greek food at whatever the place is in Flatirons Mall food-court. When you can't do a better job than a food-court restaurant, it's time to shoot yourself.

This place serves decent Greek food. If you've eaten at Shish Kabob Grill in capitol hill however, you might be less than impressed. The food was good - I had the gyro sandwich along with some stuffed grape leaves, pita and hummus. The gyro meat was tender and fresh, but the grape leaves were soggy and gross. The hummus was good although not the best I've had and the pita was fresh and warm. The decor leaves a lot to be desired and the service wasn't spectacular either. For the price, it was ok though. Definitely not going to go running back anytime soon but wouldn't be opposed to eating there again.

Outstanding Middle Eastern food. The best hummus I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Save some hummus from your appetizer so you can dip your falafel sandwich in it. The deliciousness may temporarily blind you, but you can eat your (really, really good) baklava while your optic nerves reboot. It's a small place, but their just-one-server-at-a-time policy still leads to long waits when they're busy. Which is just about every lunch and dinner. Try calling in your order before you leave work, and picking it up on the way home.

My husband and I eat here all the time and love it. They have the most flavorful hummus. You can eat in the restuarant which is very low key or take out.

Stopped here today as normally it is hard to steer me away from Comminiello's Deli when I am in this parking lot strip mall. Had the gyro sandwich and the hummus (who-moose) it's not hum mus. Anyway, gyro, it was just a-ok, would order it again maybe but might try something else. The meat was dry and tough. The pita is soft but to floury to be fluffy like New York Super Gyros & Subs. Tried the hummus after reading all the raves. Again it was good but not sure what all the raves are for, better then a lot of store brands but not as good as some I have had downtown. I tried Kabob's fresh gyro next to yesterday's New York Super's warmed over gyro my daughter didn't finish. The sauce from NY Super is better too. About the only thing I like better then NY S was that Kabob's vegies were fresher then NY S normally is and they had nice chunks of cucumber in the Kabob gyro. The pita with the hummus were also to floury in my opinin. I really enjoy a pita or tortilla shell (just got back from Vegas where I had some killer homemade tortillas in Los Molcajetes) from a place that gets them fluffier and not so much flour taste. Not easy when it is homemade but the extra care just enhances the flavor. Sorry all you ravers but this was just a-ok on both gyro, gyro meat and hummus.

Delicious food. The service was a little terse. The waitress actually yelled at a guy for trying to get his own menu when he and his wife and kid came in "I will BRING YOU a menu, sir!" We went during lunch, and got the last table (busy, busy, busy). I was surprised by the ambience. I had expected more of a "cafeteria" or fast food joint vibe, but it's actually carpeted with art on the walls and table cloths under glass on the tables. Much nicer than I expected. I LOVE that their sandwich pita is almost a tortilla --much thinner than any gyro/kabob I've had before. I didn't get to try their hummus, but I'm looking forward to it, because everything else I've had there is superb.

Overall, I was very impressed with Kabob Station. Very reasonable prices, solid food, friendly service and a small / family vibe to at the restaurant. For a plate lunch, it is just under 8 dollars and sandwiches around 5. I opted for the Lamb and Beef Shwarma, which is accompanied by delicious fresh pita breed, creamy hummus, rice, a small Mediterranean salad and a fountain soda. The flavor of the Shwarma was spot on, spicy and tangy with out being overpowering. Different from what I had previously in Israel as far as the cut of the meat and the flavor, but still very enjoyable. There was only one server, who I believe is also the owner. It was very busy at lunch time, which resulted in the food coming out relatively slow, but this is somewhat expected for a small restaurant at 12:30 on a friday afternoon. My coworkers spoke very highly of this place, so I went in with great expectations. I was not disappointed. I will definitely be back.

I ordered the gyro dinner and it was wonderful-light, tasty, with lettuce and rice and lovely sauce. The hummus and bread was delightful. Dinner was served attractively and after I ate it I felt good, as though I had done something extremely nice for my body, something healthy. My husband had beef kabobs and my granddaughter had grilled shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We plan to put ourselves down for a return trip. We will be reccommending this restaurant to everyone looking for a good place to eat.. The place was very attractively decorated, clean and quiet. Did you ever leave a restaurant feeling you got cheated out of your money? It wasn't like that at Kabob Station. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't outrageous either. I felt it was fair price for fair value. We left happy. So, yay, I am a fan!

Just had another great lunch at the Kabob Station. This is a great locally owned restaurant with authentic fare. It's small and can be crowded but the staff is always friendly. While their menu is somewhat limited, everything I've ever had has been delicious and the prices are GREAT. The pita bread and baklava are both made fresh in the restaurant and make it worth the trip every time!

I forget to eat here very often, and will make it a point to patron it more. My wife, who has sampled authentic food, says their Gyros are as close as you can get to the real thing. I think its a good change of pace for my usual diet. The setting is not formal at all, more like a mom and pop hole in the wall. The service is great despite being only 1 person. Their lamb is fantastic and their pita bread is tasty. I highly suggest the lamb gyro. Their baklava is delicious as well.

We went on a Groupon, but definitely will go back even though it is not real convenient to where we live. Humus was excellent; chicken kabobs as well as the meat (mixture of beef and lamb) were also excellent. Huge portions at lunch. Place looks a little "worn" but was clean. A fairly small place and had only one server, but she was efficient and welcoming -- we had no complaints at all. It has to be a small, local business and one well worth supporting.

Stopped in for Lunch last week and had their $5.99 sandwich/fries/drink special. I ordered to-go and had the lamb kabob, which was very good. Serving size was perfect, could barley finish my fries. Going to try a Gyro plate next time. Service was quick and I'll definitely be back back for my kabob cravings.

Really excellent middle eastern food. I used to work across the street, and I've been coming here since the first week it opened, probably 8 years ago. (There used to be a phenomenal Italian spot in the space). Fantastic hummus and pita. Get the kanaffe for dessert, it's like a middle eastern cheesecake with little crispy bits on top.

I really liked the food here, I got an order of lamb kabobs lunch platter and an order of kibbeh. The lamb kabobs were fairly good, nice and tender and not too much seasoning and the kibbeh was great! I was disappointed that the flat bread was store bought and not freshly made but that's ok. The restuarant itself was lacking a lot in terms of ambiance but the food was worth it.

Kabob Station is one of my favorite restaurants around. I've been eating there for about 9 years and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. It should be, as the cooks have been the same two guys for as long as I can remember. If I remember correctly, they make their own pita bread. It is delicious! We always order a few extra pieces so we don't have to fight over them. Their gyro meat is sliced into chunks and then grilled over open flame. It is the best gyro meat around. My mouth is starting to water as I type this. Their hummus has great flavor and consistency and the spices they sprinkle on it give it an extra pop in your mouth. Even their salad dressing is some of the best I've ever tasted. I'm pretty sure they make it there, but if I could buy it I think I'd eat a salad every day! Do yourself a favor and go eat at Kabob Station. If you're a Syrian food junkie or have never eaten it before, I can promise you you'll love it.

I love some different food, this was not for me. Everything was poorly seasoned, over priced and bland. In my opinion skip it, but I'm not an expert on this style of food. Also, service was not up to par.

  • Stacy B.

The hummus here blows my mind. I can't figure out why anyone would buy those tubs of ridiculously flavored paste at the grocery store after eating something so good as this. The lunch sandwich special is a good value, though the fries weren't so hot--then again, fries aren't exactly what I think of when I think of Greek food. We had the chicken shwarma. We love chicken shwarma. Theirs isn't as tender or spiced as some I've had in California, but they're still really good. Also, the baklava. If you like your baklava dripping in sticky honey, you won't like theirs. This baklava lets the flavors speak for themselves; very good.

Really I have to say that this place is by far the best food of its kind in Colorado. I am from Portland and they have some excellent Middle Eastern Restaurants but the Kabob Station rocks!! With the same 3 people generally there if you are in there more than 3times they know you and know what you are going to order!! I just love them. Plus the younger guy in the kitchen is not bad to stare at while you wait! Go early or you might have to wait for a table they only have about 12 or so!

I will pretty much eat hommos with anything. I took Yelpers advice and stopped in here for a to-go dinner. This is a non-descript little shop located in a strip mall just west of I-25 on 120th. I ordered the veggie dinner plate which included falafel, hommos, baba ghanoush (ok, I don't know how to spell it, sorry), fatoush and pita to scoop it all up. Hommos was awesome. I wasn't crazy about the falafel but I will definately stop back and try the gyros or the shwarma. If you are up north jonesin' for middle eastern food, I would skip the mall food and give this little joint a try!

I've loved Middle Eastern food since I frequented Jerusalem's as a DU student, and am so happy I discovered Kabob Station! First went here for dinner with friends who live in the area, and the portions and quality of food can't be beat! I believe it is technically Syrian food, so if you're looking for traditional Greek, this is not the place for you. But the hummus is creamy, fresh bread is fantastic, and every type of meat I've had is plentiful and perfectly seasoned and cooked. I was overjoyed to discover that my new office was a block away, and have since gone there for lunch. Coworkers weren't impressed with the soggy fries when ordering take-out sandwiches, but if you can deal with the lunch rush, ordering the lunch plates and dining in is the way to go. Bread, hummus, a dish full of rice, salad, and meat, and if that isn't enough, it also includes a soda and baklava, all for around $8. But the biggest proof that the food is great is that I took my Persian mother-in-law and several of her Persian friends there. Though it certainly isn't Persian food, they all really enjoyed it, and would certainly go back. I can't wait for my next visit!

I moved to Denver from Detroit ten years ago and while Denver is great to live in it isn't easy to fill my ethnic food needs except for good Mexican. I always have loved Middle Eastern cuisine and when I found Kabob Station I was hooked. The owner and her daughters are always great to speak with and the food is consistently good with the Hommus being maybe the best I've had and if you've ever eaten in Dearborn Michigan you know this is big praise. I go between the shush kabob and gyro meat and homes meals and love the pita bread that comes with it. All in all this is the one restaurant that I have frequented regularly for the past 7 years.

The gyro lunch sandwich special ROCKS!! A sandwich, crispy fries and a soda for less than $8. You can also get a lunch plate (gyros or other meat) with a starter of pita bread/hummus (EXTREMELY tasty) and then a side of rice, salad/veggies and the main course (meat dish). The lunch plates also come with a slice of baklava for dessert and run less than $10. Service has always been great for me (I work close and go often), but the lunch rush can lead to no seats available. Get here before 11:30am or after 1pm.

Kabob Station... Well their lunch special is a good value at 5.95, but I wouldn't say it's great food. The pita bread and gyro meat is of good quality but the rest of the ingredients i.e. The tezeyki sauce, veggies and especially the fries left something to be desired. overall a decent cheap lunch option but you get what you pay for.

I've eaten here twice, and the food is definitely good. But both times we were doing take out and it took FOREVER both times, and they didn't seem that busy the second time. When dining in I guess I wouldn't mind the wait time as much, but I highly recommend calling in your order for take out. The people are friendly, and it seems like a family-run business. I think they should grab the place next door (empty last time I drove by) and expand out a little so the tables aren't so crowded, and they can set up a proper take out area. Right now you have to stand around next to crowded tables waiting for your order. Definitely has potential, and the food is good stuff.

As many others have mentioned the hummus, is truly fantastic. I love lentil soup, but theirs takes me to a whole other level of loving lentil soup, but alas, I rarely order it because I know that I just won't have room for it. On a whim one time I ordered the vegetarian sampler plate, being a devout carnivore, I was nervous as soon as I had placed the order, but was supremely delighted with every bite. Be forewarned, if you eat here in the winter you will be greeted by an icy blast of air every time someone walks through the front door, we've gone to doing takeout when it's cold. Oh, and it's listed as Greek, but it is actually Syrian. (Since this is my only experience with Syrian food, I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes in categorizing it) Additional info: We ordered out from here again last week...we were sorely disappointed. The menu has apparently changed, and what we got was quite different from the same order a year ago. No more tabbouleh salad in the combo plate, lentil soup was just okay. Hummus was still quite good.

This used to be my absolute favorite place to eat (of any kind of cuisine) about 4 or so years ago. Hubs and I were regulars. Then they changed chefs to one of the youger guys (sons?) and it's been inedible since then. I was so fond of them and the place that I've tried it about 4 times since. As of my last try last year it was still inedible. I probably won't try again. Sad. I adored this place and used to tell everyone to go there. I gave it two stars because of the fondness I still have for what the place used to be. I hope they get things worked out and I hope I hear about it when they do.

One of my favorites for take out or eat in. Their hummus and home made pitas are awesome! I typically order the chicken shwarma with hummus, but their kabobs and gyros are really good as well. Staff is always friendly. Nice cozy atmosphere.

I do like Kabob- They aren't very friendly though. Unless the waitress knows you she doesn't pay much attention to you.The weekend younger waitress is TERRBLE bending over with her pants nearly showing her crack and texting on he cell phone when you food sits at the counter getting cold. The hummus and the pita keep me coming back. I used to get the shawarma but tired of having a really good plate to a very bad plate with in a few weeks. Very off. Visit often as my husband and co worker are fans.

I went here today after reading the reviews for take out. I was VERY disappointed. I am also from Portland (grew up there.) Portland is extremely culturally diverse and there is a restaurant called Demetri's on SW Burnside that is the best ever Greek food. REAL Greek food. I admit I'm very spoiled by that and all the other ethnic food available in Portland and so continues my quest to find GREAT Greek food here. The place is a dive but some of the best places are right? It was 12:30pm and all the tables were taken but that means its good right? Not so much... I got the chicken kabob combo and the side of what I thought was supposed to be spanakopita but it was a joke. They called it spinach pie. It looked nothing like a pie. It was these two very tiny (about the size of my pinkie finger) thingies that looked like a rope intertwined with spinach. They were awful, I gave them to my dog. He'll eat anything. The Chicken was just ok and so was the little baklava, but you might want to sop up all the grease first or it will run down your face. The tzatziki was very nice although not the best I've ever had. The hummus was disgusting!!! Way too much tahini! I LOVE flavor and I mean FLAVOR!!!! The texture was nice but it had NO flavor. Dog got that too. Hummus is supposed to be made with garlic and lemon. And lots of it! I mean a buttload people! Greek and Med. cooking are supposed to be very flavorful, this was not, so I don't get why everyone was saying it was so good. The little salad was ok but the rice was boring. In Greece they do a lemon infused rice which is great. The service was pretty quick today and that guy in the back isn't bad on the eyes!

Not impressed. I came in with my 3 year old son. The waitress had to get off her cell phone to take my order. I asked if she had spinach pie, she said they did not. I ordered Gyros, lamb kabobs, and the lamb and beef schwarma. I have never had Gyros cut this way. I did not even see the wonderful tower of swirling meat that I am used to. Every meal comes with a salad (lettuce was brown and soggy), rice (under seasoned and mushy), hummus (pretty good, surprisingly), french fries (which were not in my bag when I got home), a drink and baklava (dry and brittle). The meat was tough and dry on my kabob and the taziki sauce was super runny and under seasoned. After I completed my order the waitress was back on her phone with her hand over the side of her face so she could not see me. I picked up the regular menu to see if there were any other things I would like to try that were not on the lunch to go menu. When I finally got her attention she was quick to inform me that they did not have any pies (spinach pie was on that menu). I was not interested in the spinach pie, I heard her the first time. I wanted to try the dolmades (stuffed grape leaves). I think they came out of a can they were soggy, bitter and covered in gelatinous goo. Nothing like the ones I am used to. Long story short don't bother they are overpriced and disappointing. I ended up going to Pete's Kitchen 2 days later to get my Greek fix because all this place did was make me want real good Greek food. In a word "GROSS"

This your run of the mill middle eastern food place. I tasted a little bit of the beef kebob, a little bit of the chicken kebob, and a slice of the tiny appetizer spinach roll-up. The rice that came with the kebobs was greasy. Although that seems to be the norm of every middle eastern restaurant I've dined at so far. The star of the meal was the fluffy pita bread, served free with the meal. The service was great. Although I'm not sure if I would go here again. But then again, I like a little zing to my food, and restaurant middle eastern food never seem to provide that.

  • Jordan A.

Good enough, though not consistent. Sometimes the pita bread is wonderful, warm and plush, sometimes it's cold and stale. I like their hummus and cucumber soup. It's a good deal for lunch. I started out loving the place years ago, but have cooled to it since.

This is a great little middle eastern restaurant in the North Denver, 120th Avenue and I-25, area. It's a welcome respite from the usual chains/franchises that seem to dominate so many suburban strip shopping centers. The food is fresh and tasty. They make a super creamy hummus that is consistently very good, although I wouldn't mind a little more garlic in it, but I'm a garlic extremist. Another reviewer noted that they might not make their own pita bread anymore. I am not sure of that, but usually it is excellent. The last time I was there I didn't think it was up to their usual standard but it could be an anomaly. The grilled meats are always tender and tasty which is critical for this style of food. The rice is never been mushy or overcooked. The salads are simple but fresh and dressed well. The baklava is always light, crispy and super-delicious. I almost always get the hot mint tea just because it seems to be the right match for the cuisine. Now I know that they serve some dishes that are common to Greek fare, but I don't consider them to be a Greek restaurant, as some other reviewers compare this to. Yes, kabobs and baklava are on the menu but I would never call it Greek, I just had to get that out of my system. The menu is basic and simple, but they have the fundamentals down and seem to have enough variety to suit my family of very picky eaters, including a 12 year old girl who has never been very adventurous with any food or cooking styles that she hasn't tried before, yet she likes the chicken kabobs just fine. The prices are reasonable and the portions are appropriate. If you are in a hurry and the place is packed you might have to wait a while to get your food, but it's not unreasonable for what is almost always a three person restaurant (one server on the floor, two guys in the kitchen). I feel like my body and palate need a good dose of this type food every once in a while as it's tasty and healthy. The Kabob Station takes care of that craving and I'm grateful that it's close and convenient.

Kabob Station, a tiny restaurant hidden away in a crappy rundown strip mall....don't let that fool you. This place is wonderful. Most of the food is delicious, ok, the 'pies', cheese, spinach and one other, were boring, but besides those, delicious. The hummus is awesome, smoothest and creamiest I've ever had, you will never be able to even look at the stuff sold in the grocery store again. By the way, if you too like the hummus, try the Shwarma w/hummus, mmmmmm. They are super family friendly. I think they also cater or at least you can order in bulk. This little gem is everything that those crappy big chains are not and I love going there! If you want to try something different, call ahead (cause it's not on the menu) and ask if the chef can make his special salmon, it's tasty, ginger and I don't know what else in there, but very satisfying. Go to Kabob Station, your stomach will thank you.

Great vegetarian lunch for a low price. Fabulous hummus. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

Inexpensive, quick service. Good Food. Good hummus, the right kind of pita bread. schwarma was very nice, my lamb and chicken plate was average. worth giving it a try. can't beat the 5.95 sandwich and fry deal.

I love this place! It's small and kind of a hole in the wall, but the food is great. The hummus, chicken shawarma and the banana milk are my favorites!

The place is what I expect from a hole-in-the-wall falafel place, but it needs better food and a liquor license. The fries are usually soggy.

This place is awesome and I suspect they use crack as one of the ingredients in their hummus because I am addicted to it.

  • Michelle D.

My husband and I eat here all the time and love it. They have the most flavorful hummus. You can eat in the restuarant which is very low key or take out.

    (2)
  • Jordan A.

Good enough, though not consistent. Sometimes the pita bread is wonderful, warm and plush, sometimes it's cold and stale. I like their hummus and cucumber soup. It's a good deal for lunch. I started out loving the place years ago, but have cooled to it since.

Friendly little restaurant for very decent lunch deal. For a single price you get pita+humus, lunch plate and desert. While not too fancy, the food overall is great value.

Kabob station is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant , the owners are syrian and they are very kind. They have minor changes to the food because of the new cook , but it's still Great! , dishes I like , gyros , chicken shawarma ,kabob , I can say everything. This place is good and alway will be .

Cheers !

  • Hanh B.

Under new management, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The quality of the gyro, hummus, and baba was excellent, and the portions were much larger than the past. Additionally, I had forgotten my wallet when I went to pick up our food and they let me take our meal home on my word that I would call back with a credit card number.

The people are very nice and the hummus is good but I was disappointed with the beef and lamb shawarma.

Ah!

let me get this out of the way: the so called fries are crap.

I had eaten here before and was impressed. This time it was disappointing. The salad mix was lackluster and food quite ordinary, a little on the low quality side.

  • Jason M.

Can't get enough of this place. I am obsessed with the hummus and ever since I moved away it is all I crave. Every trip back to colorado will ensure a visit to kabob station. Yummy!
