Into bland, unimaginative and cheap? You have your sandwich shop in Jimmy John's.

A sandwich walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve food here." Apologies, but I know this won't be a funny review. So, I thought I'd prove that in the opening line. I'd never been to a Jimmy John's before today when I noticed the one in my neighborhood was finally opened. The guys behind the counter were cool and worked fast. My sandwich was done before they could finish telling me about their first week in the hood. I like their bread. Their roast beef was fresh and tasty. Veggies are basic, lettuce, tomato and onion. They do have a hot pepper, but it's a cherry pepper, which is a little too hot and not flavorful for my sandwich tastes. I ended up picking them off. They only offer provolone cheese as well. So, you don't get a lot of choices, but the ingredients they do offer are pretty good. Compared to the other sandwich shops in the neighborhood, they're worlds better than Jersey Mike's but not as world changing as Fat Jack's Super Subs. To paraphrase a favorite idiom: Which is better, wisdom or a roast beef sandwich? Nothing is better than wisdom, but a roast beef sandwich is better than nothing.

I order from this place a lot, and have yet to be disappointed. However, I can't give them, or any other Denver sub shop, four stars only because I have yet to find a truly awesome veggie or fish sub. I will give these guys, however, a solid 3.45284 stars because they deliver on time, haven't screwed an order, serve pretty decent bread, and aren't complete a-holes (like some of the employees at the other sub shops around here). Basically, I'd call them my NEW old reliable.

I've never been inside this restaurant (or any other Jimmy John's, for that matter), but I've done delivery via their web site four times in the past three weeks. We just recently moved and had movers and various other folks doing work in our house that I wanted to provide lunch for. The first time was on July 4th (of all days) and I could hardly find anyone that was open much less that would deliver. Then someone suggested Jimmy John's. I'd never had a sandwich from a Jimmy John's before, but figured wth. After consulting with everyone as to what they wanted, I placed the order online and it was at my doorstep in less than half an hour. Amazing! And everything appeared to be correct with the order. I like how you can customize the sandwiches via the options on their website and assign a name to each sandwich so you know whose is whose. I thought that was cool (obviously I don't do a lot of online food ordering!). I also liked how you could customize a pickle (if you ordered one) by having it cut in half, quarters, or left whole. Delivery was super-fast (tip well), and the guy who showed up at the door each time was very nice.

I love how fast Jimmy John's is and they're always consistent. The only issue I have is the parking which can be a pain. The staff was very nice. I got there right as they were closing and were kind enough to make me a sandwich! Much appreciated!!

I love this location! I usually order from my business in Cherry Creek and they have been fast, efficient and friendly.

I live 1 mile away and they do not delivery here. I will not eat at a jimmy johns again. They do not have a reason that they don't deliver when I called and I am freaky fast to decide that I will go with other business from now on.

Terrible service and no parking. I was going in to place a decent order- 5 sandwiches, since they said they didn't deliver to my area. While there, a delivery driver gave me the finger for attempting to park in a delivery spot as there were 5 open. I know I shouldn't have parked there but it's not as if it was busy, about an hour before closing. Needless to say I went to "which wich" just a few doors down and got much better service and someone who wanted my business.

If I could give a zero star they would get a zero star. They must have some idiots making corporate decisions to speed up the sandwiches and completely take away customer service. I have never seen a restaurant that does not honor a customer request. Hopefully this chain will disappear or be bought out by someone who actually has sense. I forgot to order hot peppers with my sandwich and when I went to order a side, they said they can't do that. They said I have to order with the sandwich. They said all their veggies are free and yet they can't give me any after because I forgot to order. They said their veggies are free and they can't hand them to me unless it's in the sandwich. They said they dont have containers to give sides away even though their veggies are free. I even offered to pay for it as a side dish. Either way I can't win. I even said I'll give you back the sealed sandwich and you can out them in they said they can't. They are the NO franchise and they will never again have any of my money or service and I'm Going to make it my mission to let everyone know. I feel bad for the staff who all wanted to help but said corporate wouldn't let them. A bunch of idiots trying to run a company going against the customer. I will never step foot again.

I live at 23rd and Clermont, exactly 1.5 miles away. They refuse to deliver to this neighborhood. Ridiculous.

Worst Jimmy John's ever. The motto "So fast you'll freak" does not apply in the least to this branch. Not that the employees at any Jimmy John's are anything but college stoners (and I have nothing against that) but to have a 16 year old punk with an attitude take over an hour to deliver a sandwich? Now that's a joke. Avoid ordering from this branch.

When taste and speed is of the essence, this is your place. I placed an order for our office and then moments later our sandwiches arrived.

Jimmy John's wouldn't deliver to our secret underground lair but they WOULD deliver to the same street one block away. When I contacted them to complain, they argued that it was part of their "strategic decision". In my reply, I estimated their rate of speed at 30MPH (43.8 Feet Per Second for those of you playing the home game) and then asked them how an additional 24 seconds (round-trip) to go that extra 528 feet made sense in their "strategic decision" when it is was the simple difference between having a happy customer and having no customer at all? NO REPLY! Bwah ha ha ha ha ha! Every other restaurant with a food delivery service has figured out that you incorporate a little swag in your delivery area to avoid borderline situations like this. I guess that kind of "complex math" was too complicated for Jimmy John's. No problem. I'll take my big bag of galactic credits elsewhere. Thanks for nothing Jimmy John's! PS: They didn't even address the part where I offered to meet the guy at the other end of the block!

Goddammit, Jim Johns. 8 blocks away, and out of your delivery territory. Devastating to learn during Sunday recovery mode.

I love JJ's! I've already written a review for the Clifton, CO location, which is pretty much the same as here, well kind of the same. I've picked up a few sandwiches here over lunch and everything has been just fine. Fast, good and no problems. Is it YELP illegal to copy my review for JJ's just down the road? Well here it is: JJ's is my favorite sandwich shop of all chains. I usually order a Turkey Tom with extra sprouts. The tomatoes, sprouts, mayo and turkey on a very simple crunchy white bread is such a wonderful and tasty combination. I find it interesting that they carve out the inside of the bread before they add the ingredients. I always order a pickle with my sandwich. Some JJ's have a tradition of yelling "PICKLE!" when I order at the cash register. This location doesn't do it, I'd like to see that come back. My brother use to be a delivery driver back in college (Lincoln, NE) and I loved seeing him after closing down the bars. I even went around on deliveries with him. JJ's has the same food all around the country, but each location has it's own personality. PS - Those signs around the store are hilarious. Love them.

I was excited to have a Jimmy John's so close to my house, but when I called them they wouldn't deliver to me! I live 1.5 miles away! Ridiculous. I guess they are freaky fast because they only deliver to people within walking distance???

Oh the eponymous Jimmy John, he of the first two names - or two guys with two boring first names? Jimmy John promised me gourmet sandwiches and free smells. Now, in fairness, no promises were made about the quality of the smells, but I'm beginning to suspect the sandwiches weren't quite up to a gourmet standard. My first clue was the approximately 10 seconds required to produce said sandwich. My second clue was the delightfully cheap bread of a type rarely seen outside coffee trucks. My final clue was the unique take on fresh ingredients - who knew tomatoes didn't have to be red? For all this quality gourmet sandwich-making, they're still able to beat Subway on price. But alas, my gustatory sensibilities are not refined enough to appreciate such a gourmet product, so I was forced to take my satisfaction in the free smells. But I suspect those weren't gourmet...

gave the place a third try today - a serendipitous occasion, since they seem to be doing $1 sandwiches on walk-ins until three or so, and the online ordering system is practically unusable unless you're willing to give them your entire CV complete with social security number. (oh, and their phone manners... consistently abysmal, if not nonexistent.) but hey, neighborhood joint, even if it's a chain. support local business, et c. et c. the two stars are for their also consistent speedy delivery. that's absolutely true and has been so on each of my two previous experiences. however, one bite into my bargain sandwich today, i began to suspect these free-for-all days actually serve the purpose of getting rid of their more... elderly ingredients. two bites in, and i became aware that i probably did not want any more than two bites, even if i were convinced nothing in the sandwich was expired. i just don't think i'll be going back. honestly, there are plenty of non-chain food spots clustered in the area that are affordable and reliably tasty. and reliably safe.

What can I say? Various subs, you can unwich it, the staff is always so happy, and they deliver. It's awesome. REVIEW DONE.

My roommates and i were so STOKED when this location opened. We live just down the street in Uptown, and every time we order delivery they're seriously at our house within 20 minutes !!! Whenever we stop by the shop too to pick up food, the staff is so nice, friendly, and chatty !! i love jimmy johns, they never fail. and even if you want to warp a sandwich a bit and add stuff, they never act like its a big deal, and they dont spend 5 minutes figuring how to upcharge it. Thanks new location, you saved my life :)
