Being a regular at this bar has shown me many facets of the restaurant/bar industry, and sadly the bad has out numbered the good. I was there the night things got worse and they fired their best bartender, Larissa Thomas. Not only did they fire her, the bar owner was not man enough to do it himself but had two amazing managers do his dirty work. Usually I wouldn't call firing someone "dirty" work if the firing was fair; this was not. They fired her under false acquisitions from the scum of the earth, others might know them as Jen and Martin. Also being advised from an evil vengeful manager Fran who is constantly only looking out for herself and always thinks she is right, even when being proven wrong. Over the years I have spent a lot of money there and I was comfortable being a regular there because of Larissa. But the owner (Justin) never once made me feel comfortable there and obviously does not know how to decipher from "great regulars" who would actually bring in a young crowd and more business, to "worthless regulars" who kill the business with their crap attitude and hardly spend money there. He also doesn't know how to keep amazing employees who stuck by his side from day one. Now there are two amazing managers that have worked their hardest to keep this place running and Nick and Sammie both deserve so much credit for being amazing managers. I highly recommend this place for people who like to treat others like crap and wanna spend little money and waste their lives away on fake trivia points while crying about why their needs haven't been met. In other words if you're old and worthless Jays will change your diaper for you. I have made great friends that still work there and I wish them the best and hope they get out of there as soon as they can because if someone who's been working there for 8+ years and was very dedicated to Jays is not safe from Justin's blind rage, then no one is safe. Unless you're fake and kiss enough butt to stay on his good side (rhymes with Lacey)

Place is clean. The staff is okay, but really slow and not very attentive, the waitress took forever to get my husbands drink order and didn't ask if I wanted a refill till the very end, even with onlyabout 6 tables of people. The food was eh, it got to us way to fast so you know it wasn't all cooked fresh, I had chicken fried chicken and most my plate was just gravy. The amount of chicken is good but hardly any potatoes or cooked veggies. My husband had pork cutlets and it was not drowning in gravy but he said it wasn't all that special. Even though they always seem to have deals and coupons we won't be going back

Had been here a few times before reviewing. On the last visit, the family and I sat outside which was nice apart from the loud employee's mix of odd ipod tunes featuring rap, pop, etc. Ordered chicken, and I could have broken the window with it. Needless to say, won't go back. Service was good. Atmosphere is a little odd, needs a mature manager on duty at all times I think.

We like to go here for a casual dinner now and then. They have a good happy hour, and they run alot of coupons in various flyers. The food is always good, and the views of Denver and the surrounding area are awesome. The bar has a great view as well. It is more diner style and down home.

Nothing special. Either burger is way too small for the bun, or the bun is just too massive for the burger. One thing I am sure of, for the price, the burger is tiny.

Broccoli soup - creamy, large broccoli pieces. Loved it Chicken fingers basket - not the BS frozen kind. Impressed with quality of food. Friendly staff. Reminds me of a NJ diner

This is the fourth time we have been here for lunch. All times were Saturday since we live on the other side of town. Fries were excellent. Cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Blackened chicken was grilled just right and the black beans and rice fantastic. We love the dessert nachos and today was the same as the other four times we had these. Well worth the drive. Wait staff has always been awesome. The view from the south facing dinning area is fantastic. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a nice American style lunch.

While the people working here seemed to try real hard there seemed to be a lack of training and the food was not that great. I was the first to arrive in my group and when I arrived the host asked me if he could get me a table. I told him i was waiting for the other people in my group and I took a seat to wait. While I was waiting 2 more people came up to me and asked if I needed to be seated while the host was still standing there. It was getting a little annoying after the third time. Apparently they do not trust the host to do his job. After being seated I started to look at the menu and it sent up red flags immediately. They obviously were trying to have something for everyone. There was greek, italian, mexican, and american on the menu. It never turns out well when someone tries to do that much. It wasn't different in this case. I ordered the carnitas chimichanga. When it arrived it actually looked fairly good. The looks were deceiving. The refried beans seemed like they were a little old or out of a can. The rice was overcooked and very mushy. Those were at least edible. The pork carnitas however I stopped eating after 2 bites. It was either a very bad cut of pork or it was old. Probably one of the worse carnitas I have ever had. It was not seasoned and really did not have any spices at all. It was just a cheap cut of plain cooked pork. It also did not smell that appetizing. I left about 3/4 of the food on my plate untouched. When someone came to take away the food they did not inquire at all about why I barely touched it. On the positive side the waitress was very nice, courteous, and attentive. I definitely will not be visiting again.

As great as the three main bartenders are (Stacy, Lynette and Katie) there is no other reason to patronize this place. So many times the kitchen has screwed up orders either because they refuse to read the ticket or are unable to because of their lack of English skills. When the general manager starts confronting the bartender about the mistakes the kitchen makes or because of how cheap the owner is, it is time for customers to take a stand. Over the last five years I have heard complaint after complaint about how the staff is treated by the general manager. I finally take heed and have vowed not to step foot in the place again. It's sad how because of just a couple of people a business has to make it's employees suffer economically. In regards to others complaints of the noise level I must agree but those that don't like it loud I suggest either sit in the restaurant section or do as I did and carry ear plugs.

I really enjoy coming to jay for the food. Saturday evening my husband and I went in to have dinner. He had a chimichanga with no salsa and I had chicken fajitas. Everything was great, our waitress was kinda slow but young so I brushed it off. Sunday afternoon I reached into my pocket and pulled out The receipt from the night before and glanced at it. I noticed not only had my husband and I ate but my waitress bought herself a basket of French fries. I called jays and was told to come in with the receipt. I had to go get groceries first and somehow managed to loss my receipt. I was later told there was nothing they could do now that I've lost my receipt which is upsetting. I suggest keeping a better eye on the bill.

Came here after work and was unpleasantly surprised that there was no happy hour. It was 2-5 and another one starting at 8. We were gunna leave right then but just decided to stay out of extreme hunger. Got mozzarella sticks and we got 6 for $8.... Total rip off! Not even worth it. They werent even gooey and soft like theyre supposed to be, the cheese was barely melted. Our server also was nice but not skilled at all. Im just hoping he was new or something. He came over to take or order and didn't even bring us menus! Im like uuggh can we have a drink menu, or even a regular menu?! He did not know much about the beers. Definitely wont be back here again, theres too many places in denver that offer happy hour right after work! Not worth spending the extra money for worrst quality.

Pretty good! This is the second time we were here. We started off with Jalapeño Bottle Caps, and the Skyline Sampler. Lots of fried food, but the batter was good. My favorite were the Jalapeño Bottle Caps. They were whole jalapeños that were battered and fried. Even though they weren't super spicy, they had good flavor. Hubby had the Italian Sandwich which was made with an Italian sausage patty instead of links and had green chilies on it instead of the typical peppers. It was pretty good! I had the Everything Melt that was grilled to perfection. The fries were ok, nothing special about them, but still good. Our waiter was sweet, polite, and attentive. We will definitely be back!

The staff at this place really is top notch. Food is great and drinks are priced very well this is definitely a place worth trying. The wings are also really good here and my favorite app of all time pretty much

Been going in here as a customer for a bit now... This place has GONE DOWN HILL. They treat their staff like dirt, so none of the servers are smiling or happy anymore. The prices go up, the food and customer service go DOWN. There's always a new face or multiple there. Got a BLT last week with 2(!!) Slices of bacon for $9.99 and yesterday went in, waited TEN FREAKIN MINUTES as nobody came by (the place WAS NOT BUSY AT ALL) before I finally had to wave someone over. That person was so slow, didn't know the menu and forgot so many things. He finally got freaked out when I told him I used to work in this badly run place... He told the other girl she "had to take" our table. I was so polite and nice to BOTH servers, no big deal. But all in all? Lunch took 2 1/2 hours. And at one point, the 3 of us sitting at our table looked around... And there wasn't another soul in the WHOLE front of the restaurant. Not even a worker. Bad management stretches a LOOOONG way in this establishment. They need to get a new GM NOW. She's scaring everyone away. I work close by as well-- and haven't heard ONE nice thing about this place in 2 or 3 months. There's awesome competition out there!!!

Went to Jay's recently to meet fam for drinks. 30 cent wing nights r awesome and drink specials are great! Be ready to wait around for a while when attending wing night! Short staffed & BUSY, but very apologetic and accommodates your every need WHEN they have the time! For a reasonable $$$, and pretty good wings, Jay's is the place:)

Fast service good food. The Ruben sandwich was really good. The french fries were cooked just the way I like them. The pork chop dinner was a very large portion and my fellow dining partner said it was great. The chicken sandwich was huge. Seriously huge and my other dining partner said it was great.

From a second hand account thru my wife, she claims it is pretty good, the burgers are the best thing to order there apparently. That's all I would have said more but I can't speak from a personal level, only from what I was told from my wife~ See my other reviews I am pretty detailed most of the time.

Here last night for a Friday night get together. We were a party of 10 and I forgot to make reservations but we were still able to get in ..in a decent amount of time. We even got to order drinks while we were waiting! Once we got our table and got to order our food and drinks it was smooth sailing from there! I ordered a tall bud on draft and it was huge! We ordered samplers you can choose four item for $9 bucks we got two orders that consisted of potato skins loaded with cheese and bacon, hot wings, kettle chips, cheese sticks and fries. They had fried pickles and jalapeño poppers on the starter menu too and both were yummy! We ordered a root beer float and it was mega huge and delicious! The brownie sundae was divine and more than enough for the whole table. Overall it was a great place the service was great, staff was friendly and accommodating. Bathroom was clean, the place itself was huge and lots of tables, booths and bar space. Parking was ample and the place was packed. I would have given five stars had there been a happy hour menu and maybe some specials. Looks like next time I'm in town I'll be back!

Me and my husband frequent Jays' whenever we are in the area. The service is consistently good and I LOVE the flavored lemonades, especially the mango and peach. We both get something different on the menu every time and have never been disappointed... EVER. If you use one of their coupons that come in the mail it makes for a very inexpensive sit down dinner. Also the views of downtown are very nice!

This is the sister restaurant of Great Scotts. The food is a little pricier but good. They have a balcony outside.

Bar area is always smokey from the kitchen, it used to be tolerable before they pulled Coors Light off tap for another lame attempt from shocktop. Please bring back Coors Light and add some Colorado crafts while youre at it.

I stopped in here because a friend of mine just started working here as a bartender. The drink specials were awesome and the service was real friendly. It was snowing so I didn't get a chance to sit outside but the patio looks like it has a real nice view. I will be back.

Jay's is a pretty price conscious restaurant with great service and a wide selection. My wife and I were impressed with the food and the service we receive is unbelievable. if you are looking for 5 star cuisine, move on. However; if you want an affordable meal with a smile this is the place.

The atmosphere is better when you sit outside. It's a great place to unwind and have a couple of beers and a great meal. I love the chicken fingers, I think they do them perfectly. They also have great burgers. Be on the lookout for coupons, they are everywhere it seems, but it's a good deal anyways to begin with.

I took my son and my husband here for fathers day. We had the buffet. As is with most buffets, almost everything was dried up and cold, but that is to be expected. The service was also slow but by far the worst thing was my son found something that resembled either a hair or a bristle from a brush (black) embedded into his red velvet waffle. My son and I have brown hair and my hubby is gray. The manager took it away to "examine" it! His "appology" was to charge my son (who was done eating as we all were after seeing that foreign object the kids buffet price instead of the adult price. How tacky! All I could do was laugh. I then went to the restroom (whatever I ate put me in there for a while) in the meantime my husband got tired of waiting for me and (being disgusted about the situation )and the bill so he tookour son top the car. When I came out of the bathroom I went to the table to find my waitress and another waitress discussing whether to call the police because we had "left" without paying the bill. WOW! Really? Our waitress said to me "they left without paying" that is when I said "that is because I'm paying (as I waved my credit card in the air.....) It's fathers day therefore dads and kids do not pay! It's bad enough you guys were tacky enough not to cover my sons meal, now this. They are lucky I never called the health department. Do not eat here! It gets one star because you can't give less.

This place was recently purchased by Great Scotts Eatery, I believe, and this has made all the difference in the world. Jay's is very close to my house, so I would often go there for dinner if I didn't feel like cooking; and their Sunday brunch is a great deal. Now that ownership has changed, I gotta say this is one of my favorite places to eat in my area. The food has improved; and the service remains friendly and warm. I don't hang out in the lounge, but it looks as if it's friendly enough and they always seem to have great drink specials. Very happy that someplace this close to my house has such good food! I recommend trying it out if you haven't in a while.

My definition of three Stars. Not anything anything to go out of your way for, but definitely wouldn't hesitate to drop back in if I was in the area and hungry. The service was attentive and friendly...heck I even got a smile and a wink! All of the bar type food was cooked right and we noted that the chicken breast on our grilled chicken Sandwich was actually grilled! The shrimp and fries were fried right on but In all this place didn't have anything that made your mouth water.

I have been to Jay's a couple of times now. It's okay, clean and the food is good. Just a general mixture of everything, but I have nothing bad to sad but nothing great either. I have not had a bad experience with the food or service. Eventually will return again.
