Terrible experience... Terrible food. Came in and was told to have a seat anywhere, sat down and about 15 minutes later, our server finally came to take a drink order. After receiving our awful house wine, she took our dinner order, which actually came out pretty quickly, except that she forgot to bring us plates. After our food got nice and cold, she finally brought us some plates so we could eat. Admittedly, I am a Thai snob. Coming from Seattle where excellent Thai food is abundant, I have a hard time finding good Thai here. A key: good Thai restaurants don't also serve Chinese food. I should have known. The Chef-Boyardee- flavored Pad Thai was terrible. We couldn't even eat it. Maybe also because it was cold. Pineapple curry wasn't too bad. Friends joined us and we again had to flag down our waitress, and when we wanted to leave, she'd gotten to the point of complete avoidance of our table so I literally had to get up and go find her to ask for our check. We won't be back. If you're looking for good Thai food head to Udom Thai in Centennial.

I've got to say, I really like Jason's Thai. I must respectfully contradict all the posters who have critiqued JT's "service." I've already been here twice in the past week (it's been a crazy week... let's just leave it at that!) and both times I have received EXCELLENT service. My very first experience at JT's was definitely hesitant. I strolled in (around 5 pm, dinner time), and I didn't know exactly where to go. I just wanted to place an order and take it to go, so I moseyed over to the cash register where a bunch of people were already standing. The servers asked me if I had already placed an order, and when I said no, they directed me to a seat at the bar, gave me a menu, and told me to take my time. Oh, and take my time I did! Not once did they try to hurry me, and in fact, one server even brought me a glass of water "while I waited." Sweet! My order was ready within 10 minutes, and I paid and left in a timely manner. The next visit, I called in and placed an order. Again, no complaints with the phone service-- the woman who answered was professional and she double-checked with me to make sure she wrote down the correct order. Again, I was out within 5 minutes and was treated in a courteous and friendly manner. I'm not super impressed with the sushi, HOWEVER, I've only tried to vegetarian sushis so far. I really like the avocado sushi, but the cucumber was a little too bland (even with wasabi!) I also ordered the Buddha's Delight-- omg. Scarred for life. It is SO spicy-- and it doesn't have a little "spicy" sign next to it on the menu!! Nearly burned my mouth off. Be careful! My recs? Go during lunch time: you get the same amount of food (plus a spring roll, depending on what you order) and you save about $2 per entree. Oh, and it's not just for students :) I saw older couples, middle aged people, and students there.

Came here last night...as it was one of the only places near my house open on Christmas day. My friend and I ordered spicy salmon rolls. When they arrived we forgot we meant to order them with avocado in them. Our server quickly brought us some sliced avocados on the side and also comped the rolls as an x-mas gift which was a delight. I had thai noodles: peanut curry sauce, veggies, chicken. It was advertised as being spicey but it wasn't at all. It was still delicious however. Next time I will just have to specify that I want them hot. My friend had green curry which I sampled...I have had better but it was certainly not bad atall. I thought this place was going to be sketchy but I was pleasantly surprised, ambiance is nice and you can catch basketball games while you dine.

This place is great for a quick lunch with lots of options. I have many different meals here including sushi (which is a tad expensive) but have never been disappointed. They also have boba, which my bf thinks is great because there are not many boba places that we know of. Service is good and food is yummy and fills ya up!!

This place is garbage. I ordered pickup, and had to wait 15 minutes for them to acknowledge me(other than just shifting me from seat to seat to make room for their dine-in patrons). The worst part was I saw my order on the counter the WHOLE TIME. They even ignored me blatantly when I asked to pick up. Good food, just a ridiculous experience.

Great sushi (Jason's thai roll, spicy tuna, futomaki) and curry (panang). Not so great Pho (meat was dry). The pad thai is nice but not something I would order on a regular basis. The service can be hit or miss, but I will almost always have a full glass of water throughout my dinner. One thing is that I ordered my spicy tuna roll with extra spice. The waitress was cute in asking three separate times if I really wanted extra spice; she and the sushi chefs seemed very concerned about my taste buds. (They were pleasantly spiced).

This is a really great please for when you can't decide what type of food you're in the mood for! They cover a lot of Asian dishes, everything from egg drop soup, to drunken noodles, to lo mein, to sushi! (Although I once had the sushi and I didn't think it was very good/fresh...just giving you fair warning!) I recommend getting an appetizer or soup in one genre and getting an entre in a different one. Or splitting different dishes with a group of friends! Besides the food, the service is really excellent. I've been there several times and have never had a bad time! Also, don't let the fact that it's somewhat in a strip mall fool you- the insides are totally cute & classy!

  • Steven N.

I don't doubt JT's serves good food to those who are able to eat what they serve. And I was very impressed by their service when they called me back to tell me their rice and noodle dishes, and all of their soups have a chicken broth base. The one star rating might be unfair, but insofar they are less than friendly to those choosing a vegetarian diet, the description for a one star rating--"Eek! Methinks not"-- does apply. Sorry.

The delivery service is so awful. I have called several times, the waitress and deliveryman are sooooooooo rude. They forgot the baverage but the deliveryman gave me attitude. That's so ridiculous and I will NEVER go there.

Get the sesame chicken, extra spicey! The crab Rangoon is hit or miss, but I always get it because it is my favorite side ever.

When the restaurant opened I got very excited about having a "Thai" place close by but oh well that was a mistake. There is certainly nothing Thai about Jason Thai. But if you cancel that from your expectations, you have a reasonable priced typical Asian-American restaurant. I usually go there for Sushi if I don't feel like spending a fortune but you need to know that the Sushi is good but not star quality. My husband usually gets the Sesame Chicken (nothing special there but he loves artificial taste). I can recommend the curries. The Pad Thai is way too sweet. Portions are generous. So I guess Jason's Thai is certainly nothing special but is perfect if you feel like American Asian food, you don't want to pay a lot and you're already in the neighborhood.

Best Sesame Chicken EVER! Fast Delivery and reasonably priced. I order from here all the time and it is always DELICIOUS... Also try the Basil Fried Rice,,, my new addiction.

Warning warning!!!! Pricey and below average food. Service is subpar. Portion is pretty small for the price. It's a rip off, targeted at students who has very little choice. Will not return.

  • Newsha N.

I've had take out from there twice. Honestly, I'd rather go elsewhere. Every time I have ordered from here, the staff has been rude when I call in to place an order, I've had the phone passed around from person to person because no one could understand what I was asking. That's just frustrating. Also, the food is really greasy. I would rather go to another Thai place that's in another close by neighborhood...*wink wink...nudge nudge*...ya know what I mean?

Jason's Thai is fine - but the variety of asian choices on the menu yields a ho-hum assortment of dishes with no real specialty. Since Vietnamese food is my favorite, I went for the Vermicelli noodle bowl with tofu on my first trip. It was alright - though the veggies weren't shredded the way I am used to having at Vietnamese restaurants so it was tricky to eat and lacked the desirable mix of flavors I was hoping for (no mint sprigs or shredded carrot or bean sprouts from what I recall). The next time I went I opted for a Chinese-style eggplant dish and it was decent but heavier on the oil than I was hoping for. I wasn't feeling as adventurous the last time I went so I tried the pad thai. Eh, it was ok. Again, nothing really stuck out to be about the food. Portions are generous, however. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable, but it gets pretty packed on weekend nights. The people I've taken to eat there have enjoyed it, but I wouldn't go out of your way to give it a try.

Seriously? We placed an order and 1 hour and 30 minutes later had never received it. We had to drive in to pick up our DELIVERY order because they WOULDN'T PICK UP THE PHONES! Wait, they picked them up ... and immediately hung them up! Hilarious, but, not humorous when you're hungry. The food was mediocre, and, given the HORRID customer service, I hope this place dies on the vine.

I feel like every time I eat Jason's Thai, I expect it to be better than the last time, and it never is. I really should stop eating here. I honestly like to eat at their restaurant, the sushi bar is cute, and its a nice atmosphere, but the food continues to disappoint. I have tried the sushi, main noodle dishes, the appetizers, all of it is disappointing. Their delivery is terrible, takes at least 15 min longer than the original time they say. Their convenience to the University of Denver does not make up for the fact that their food is just not that good. Overall, not my favorite.

Some friends and I decided to order some Thai one evening when we were studying. Got our food in about ... 30-45 minutes, I think. When I took the bag I was wondering why it was so darn heavy ... then once we opened it I realized that it was because there was a metric ton of food. Slight exaggeration. But seriously, for the same price as other restaurants, their takeout containers (for the curries at least, no idea what it's like for the noodle/rice dishes) are easily ... 2-3x larger. I got 4 meals out of mine. And the curries were good -- I like that they included lots of veggies. And I like that they have brown rice available, yay. I mean ... it's tasty but pretty standard, it'd be three stars except for the sheer cost efficiency. Instantly wins over the poor student's heart and wallet.

  • Laura N.

They're decent. The sesame chicken is by far their best entree but I haven't been in a while since they had their cockroach manifestation which spread to Subway and then knocked Thai Basil out of business. Their happy hour is extremely short but extremely cheap for sushi and appetizers.

  • Nicholas P.

I realize that I have been too critical of this establishment. However the wait staff is fairly unfriendly, let me clarify they are not rude but they do not "roll out the red carpet" either. (maybe it is just me) I still believe that their pricing is unfair as I paid $9.75 (I could have bought a very good microbrew with the $9.75) for pork fried rice (which I find to be a bit bland). When compared to my favorite place New Dragon Cafe. I find no comparision as dishes there are much cheaper than at Jason's Thai (pork fried rice at the New Dragon Cafe is around $7.25). Basically this place is very bland and I feel their prices are not very fair because of this. Though on a positive note the portion I received was somewhat large.

  • Christina W.

YUMMY! I have never actually eaten inside, but always get it delivered. I like sushi as an appetizer and not the full meal, so I like the combo of getting amazingly fresh sushi with traditional Thai food. I especially love the sesame chicken and the veggie lo mein. We typically end up spending quite a bit because we load up on sushi, appetizers as well as a couple main dishes. The crab wontons are delicious as well as the hot and sour soup. This is my favorite asian place in the area that I have tried.

  • Julio P.

This place is horrible. We have been there so many times and the food has gotten progressively worse. The wait staff is horrible. They are so rude and do nothing to help you out. My wife and I ordered a dish and they served it in a big bucket with no plates and nothing to serve it with. will never go back and that's the end of my long history with jason thai

Second time I ordered delivery, and my last. Not only it took well over an hour to get my food (was it worth it? I'll get to that), I gave specific instructions on how to get in (gave last name on the intercom directory) and emphasized TWICE 'you have to go thru the intercom, I can't open the door with my cell phone.' What does genius delivery guy do? Calls my cell phone. First time I ended up having to go downstairs because he said the intercom wasn't working. Yes it was. What does genius delivery dood do this time? Calls my cell phone. Not only that, asks if it's ok for me to go downstairs. No, it isn't. Then of course he took forever to come up (didn't ring the intercom, actually waited for someone to come by and open door). Really? Can't figure out the intercom with the instructions right there? Apparently it's rocket science. And the food... I was actually feeling ill as I was eating. Dog I hope I don't get food poisoning. One of the rolls had siracha on it, which was not in the description. And the sushi rice was atrocious, I had to remove the rice from the rolls. Horrible experience all around.

Some of the best food in Denver! I love the staff and after they get to know you they start bringing out free appetizers. Try the Calimari!

  • Carla C.

Not the best asian food I have ever had, but it is consistent and I know what I'm going to get, which is more than I can say for a lot of places in Denver. The happy hour is a great deal, and the portions of both the lunch and dinner meals are large. I call a lot for delivery, and they always answer the phone in a timely manner and always get my order right. Also, they usually deliver my food in less than 30 minutes, which is great. I really like the Basil fried rice, Shanghai Moon, the yushan eggplant with basil, and the hot and sour soup is really good. Unfortunately I had to log in and change my review. They lose a star (should lose more than one) because I called tonight at 9 20 to place an order, only to be told that they were closed already. What??? The website says they close at 10. I was seriously disappointed.

I've patronized an unhealthy number of Thai restaurants in the last ten years, but, until today, I'd never been to one that served sushi and tempura alongside drunken noodles and panang curry. With Japan and Thailand being so far apart, and their population's respective diets being so vastly different, the two cuisines don't seem appropriately paired under one roof. Sure, they're both Asian in origin, but that's not saying much. Lutefisk and chorizo are both European in origin, but you won't find them side by side at a tapas bar. While all this may seem obvious, Jason's apparently didn't get the memo. Like several other local Asian restaurants, Jason's calls itself an "Asian Bistro." For the uninitiated, this is shorthand for "We offer every type of Asian food known to man." Indeed, Jason's does, and they take this motto to its limit. Craving drunken noodles? They've got 'em. Vietnamese eggrolls? That'll be $4.95. Yearning for some Moo Shu? No problem, boo. Fresh su....errrr....sushi? They've got that too, arigato. Still, despite their lengthy menu, Jason's is missing something crucial: unique, flavorful food. Instead, they offer bland, generic, quasi-Asian food at a low price. It'll do in a pinch, but I would never go out of my way to eat there.

Grabbed lunch here and was very happy with everything about this little thai place tucked away in the strip mall. The decor was nice, clean & modern. Thai tea was very tasty- but it's a personal fave. We ordered crab rangoon as an app which were good but not special. I had shrimp pad thai and my husband got the kung pao tofu. Both were really very good, great presentation too. Service was attentive, prices were decent. I'll be back!

Jason's is yet another one of those "Asian mash up" restaurants that doesn't seem to have any one identity (despite the "Thai" in their name). Their menu consists of chinese, thai, japanese, vietnamese, and other asian cuisines. The best part about this place is that they deliver and their food quality is good. The prices are decent, some of the items could be a little cheaper, but the portions are pretty big. I haven't eaten enough of their menu to go into detail, but I have had the Pad Thai (they put onions in it, which doesn't seem right ot me, so I order without), and I've had some of their curries. The vegetables have always been crisp and fresh, meats are identifiable (you know what I mean, some asian restaurants serve a mutilated piece of flesh that could be anything from gerbil to wooly mammoth), the dishes are balanced well. The flavor has been good in all of the dishes I've had. The summer rolls are delicious as well. I don't eat there often, I usually do take out or delivery. Tthe atmosphere is modern and cozy, kind of a "date" restaurant, really. Also, Jason's is a brand new restaurant, but it did take the place of another Asian restaurant that had been there for years. I, admittedly, never ate at Isle of SIngapore, so I can't compare them or lament over the loss of the old restaurant, but overall, Jason's is a fine place to eat. It's clean, the food is well prepared, the environment is firendly and modern. Oh, and they have a sushi bar. I'm not a big time sushi guy, but I do enjoy it. The one time I tried a roll there, I was underwhelmed. The sushi at Sushi Den and even at John Holly is much better in my opinion, but that may be because I am not an aficianado of the fish rolls. I would bet that their sashimi and sushi is really pretty good on the grand scale, so your best bet is to try it yourself.

My cousin and I loved this place when we first tried it because the food was great. I recommended this for my other cousin's birthday and we had a table of 15 or so. The waitress tried to add an additional $80 to our tab thinking that we would not notice!! The waitress was oddly trying to collect the tab quickly, so we decided to double check the tab to make sure it was correct. When we calculated the tab, we brought it to her attention that the math did not add up, but she tried to cover it up by playing dumb. It took us about 30 min to clear up the tab and we didn't even get an apology - she was just angry. Please be aware of this and double, even triple check your tab to make sure there are not any additional fees added on. :(

Been here a few times, both for dinner and for lunch. I think lunch is the best time to go, bc of the sushi and lunch deals. I'm not sure, but I think that the dumplings were bagged/ frozen, they tasted that way. the wonton soup had carrots and zucchini in it, which some may like, but I personally thought it made the soup bitter tasting. Sushi was good. Workers are nice, and it looks clean. There is a huge tv in there.

Jason's Thai is another great restaurant in the DU area. I have had several of their curries, which have been consistently very good. Many of their dishes can be made vegetarian/vegan. Also, their tofu is really good. It's not that droopy, gelatinous, plain old bean curd stuff. Super firm tofu always pleases me. The environment is really cozy and the service is always very good. I'd give it a try if you like thai food and live in the DU area.

3.5 stars might be more appropriate. lg sake, spicy tuna roll, Bangkok roll, beef and broccoli, beef drunken noodle. $42 The staff here is super friendly and welcoming. Waitress told us what fish was delivered that day so we could take an educated guess at our roll selection. Portions were big. Asked for extra spicy drunken noodle was not spicy at all, but very flavorful and the veggies were super fresh. Beef was good quality and tender. Bangkok roll was great but not very fishy, kind of gets drowned out by the frying i guess. Much better than most of their drunken noodle competition. Jason is actually in the kitchen cooking, and the food really does showcase the pride he takes in his work. Ambiance is quite chic given the location. I'd definitely go back.

I ordered take-out from here out of desperation (couldn't find another Thai restaurant open late, and hubby had a craving for drunken noodles). It's proximity to DU is a blessing and a curse. Open late, but super-crowded with college kids seeking cheap, plentiful Asian fare. I called my order in and was told it would take 15 mins. I arrived in 10 mins. and the woman seemed surprised that i was ready to pay before my food came out (maybe that was a warning?!?!). 20 mins. later, i was still waiting. I wasn't even offered a glass of water and i struggled to find a spot where i could wait and not get run over by crazed servers rushing back and forth with steaming plates. So, i was expecting the worse when my food finally arrived. But boy, am i glad i waited. The food was probably the best Thai food we've found so far! My Pad-Se-Lew with tofu was perfect ... slightly sweet, with lots of broccoli. Hubby's drunken noodles had the perfect combo of basil and spice. The food was so plentiful, that i have two lunches leftover. We'll be back to try other dishes. We'll suffer through the poor service and delays to get to the great food! :)

i've ordered delivery from this place twice now, and it was a super bummer both times. the food is tasteless and slimy- and it's not cheap so don't waste your time. yuck! i ate it (for the last time) tonight and i can't get the taste out of my mouth.

horrible service. food came out at different times (I don't think they know what the service etiquette is), we rarely got checked on, we were done for a good 15 minutes waiting for the check, pad thai tasted like straight up hot sauce (the worst pad thai I have ever had so far), we were seated at the smallest table there in the corner when there were a couple booth tables left (worst seat in the house), the only think I liked was the decor

yummy yummy in my tummy..really good shrimp pad thai noodles!!!! also vietnamese noodle bowls too....my boyfriend rates the combination lo mein as a "well cooked dish...great balance of all 3 meats and they don't hold back on the chicken, beef, and shrimp!" plus they are also flexible with substitutions, such as noodles instead of rice.

their menu was very similar to spicy basil, so much so that i thought that they might be owned by the same people. maybe... so this kinda seems like another review for spicy basil, so please see that review. good, food, service, decor, and sweet walking distance from du.

From the modern and very clean decor to the freshest ingredients, Jason's is definitely my new go-to for Thai. The chicken coconut soup is the best I've had in Denver!

Great Thai food. Average prices and large portions: not sure why reviews are so low (maybe under new management).

Not great by any stretch, and once when I was about to dig in to my take out order, I realized that no, that's not really-authentic-looking vegan chicken substitute in the Pad See Lew, it's chicken. So that sucked for my partner who ordered it. But we return because the place is close and sometimes we're desperately lazy.

No. I was excited to go here again because their pad thai knocked my socks off on my last visit. But this time the whole experience underwhelmed me. We went on a Sunday afternoon (still open on Sundays although Yelp says otherwise) and once again we got the same lame server who doesn't get the whole idea of service aspect. We sat down, she got our drinks and I asked for straws and once again she seemed confused by the concept. She came back to take our order, without straw, and we didn't see her again until our food came out.....mostly due to her and the rest of the wait staff sitting around at a table talking and doing their own thing. She came back with one straw for me and without one for my boyfriend and we had to ask for chopsticks where again, she was confused about us asking for something that you think would be standard at an Asian restaurant. The pad thai wasn't as good as last time, more sweet than usual and even though I ordered it spicy, it lacked any spice. Even though I love that this place is so close to me and the portions they serve, I will not be coming here again. The service (or lack thereof) has just ruined it for me.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. I'm very glad I took their recommendation. The pad Thai for example, is flippin' amazing...and has produced about 2+ meals just on one order. That being said, I have ordered their shrimp many times before and stopped ordering it because they don't seem to clean it before they cook it... If I see excrement and nasty entrails left on the shrimp, I won't eat it...because it grosses me out. In the past, I've ordered delivery and have dined in. Both are good experiences. Their Udon noodle is so yummy. Sometimes when I eat out, I don't like to be constantly bothered by wait staff every 3 minutes asking me if I need anything. This place definitely does not come by that often which can be a draw back if you actually need anything lol. Whenever that happens, I just wave them over and they help very politely.

Generic Asian that does delivery. Usual Chinese American dishes like sesame/orange chicken, some Thai curries, etc. Wouldn't recommend the sushi; reminds me of the stuff you pick up at Kroger (King Sooper).

Great peanut curry? Amazing sushi? Chinese dishes to match? Where the H will I ever find such a place? Right next to the old border bar in the now sketchy shopping center off of University and Evans! Try not to pay attention to the possibility of criminal activities going on in this center... It's like a movie... I'm pretty sure one person owns the whole thing and only two of the businesses are not processing dirty cash in the back.. Ok I got off track, the place for food!! The atmosphere is bright, servers semi-nice and food is on point! Go!

Probably the best take-out/delivery thai restaurant in the area. We never dine-in there, as there's a miniature shared parking lot for several businesses in the shopping center. The food is consistently good/great. The spinach cheese wontons are excellent (though occasionally not as crispy as they could be). All of the chicken entrees are good, and I think they all are white meat. The sauces are flavorful and fresh, and the veggies are crisp. The noodle dishes are delicious, especially the drunken noodles. Dishes marked with a pepper are medium-hot, but usually only if you eat the red peppers. Basically, I'm working my way through the menu and haven't come across anything that's left me dissatisfied. Most of the time, it's perfect. Delivery times are reasonable. Would recommend.

Always a good time. Sit down. Only thing I have read that's bad about Jason's is their take-out. Whenever we sit down to eat, we have never been disappointed. Sushi, Chow-mein, the works, its all been great. My girlfriend gets the chicken-coconut soup (tom kha ghi, I think) for take-out, and she has had no disappointments. The staff are nice and attentive. 5 stars might be a little much, but this business needs more love than it gets!

  • Kai E.

I'm not really sure why the reviews are so low. Boba is great, sushi is good, all dishes my friends and I have tried have been great. Prices are average but portion size is decent and although the staff isn't super friendly thy are attentive and willing to help/solve any problems you may have!

Very good food and it is pretty cheap too. Go for lunch and get the sesame chicken...you won't be disappointed. Parking is tight (just like everywhere around DU) so walk if you can.

The food is not great yet not horrible. I love asian food, Jason's food is more like a Thai Basil but not as good in my opinion. Just doesn't taste like authentic Thai. The dining is very open, could use some help to break up the atmosphere instead of feeling like being in one room with everyone. All in all I would eat there again if a friend wanted to go and cause it's local, but I do prefer many other Thai restaurants over it.

Only visited once however we ordered 2 different kinds of sushi, gyoza & chicken coconut soup - all incredible & beautifully presented. The entrees - chicken lo mein and beef and broccoli were basic.

So so much food! Shame it wasn't tasty! Tasted so watered down and the chicken was like no chicken I had ever seen. So processed!!! Waited so long for drinks! Not great!

O Jason's Thai, Where do I begin? You are so incredibly average and slightly overpriced that I don't why you are frequented so often. It's probably due to your proximity to the university area. No lie, I have had Jason's Thai delivered to my dorm on multiple occasions, but that is usually under special circumstances where I just need my Asian fix late at night. If you are sober and it's during the day, I would highly recommend elsewhere. Pho Saigon Star down the road has much better pho, and Sushi Den's blows this places sushi out of the water.

Crab cheese wontons are some of the best that I've had in Denver, I normally dine in since their portions and quality are way lower when I've had a pick up or delivery order which is a bummer. There is also a little bit of a language barrier since I only speak English and sometimes it is difficult to understand what they are saying on the phone, but that means its more authentic so it doesn't bother me much. They used to have an awesome happy hour which I really miss since cheap sake bombs are always fun. Sushi is mid to high quality, but some of their rolls are so cheap it doesn't really matter. Don't miss out on the karaoke rooms in the back! You and friends can get a little rowdy without disturbing the rest of the restaurant.

  • Lisa P.

Girl on the phone was super bitchy. Food was $15. Tipped $5. Waste of $20 on lunch that got tossed. Lemongrass chicken had weird brown sauce and no lemon flavor, rice had carrots and peas in it. Fail. Won't do it again.

It's good but expensive for relatively normal Thai takeout. Enjoy the pineapple chicken. Best to go at lunch- better deal for your dollar.

Another great meal (we had lunch here but ended up hanging out all afternoon). My friend introduced me to their calamari appetizer, even cold, the little poppers were wonderful, especially dipped in the pink-orange sauce, yum! Again my BF and I asked for the Chinese menu and we ordered sauteed kidneys. They were OK. I'm glad Jason's offers these organ dishes, but I've had better elsewhere, so I'll have to stick with the best here: braised dishes. The braised Pork Belly was melt-in-you-mouth literally! It comes with lightly fried rice, making it a perfect combo for any day! I saw Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) on their appetizer menu and had to ask for it. It comes with 6 in a small bamboo steamer. I think they should use a large one instead of squeezing all the dumplings together make it really hard to pick apart and not breaking the skin so all the yummy soups wasted. But there's simply no way... :-( Sticking to their "Thai" moniker, the filling of the soup dumplings were quite spicy, which is not traditional. If not for that, I'd give it a 5-star! I love how modern and fun the place looks, plus it's spotless! Even their stainless steel water pot is super shiny and thumb print free!

Among the vast array of sushi dining options, there lies Jason's Thai Asian Bistro hidden between a Starbucks and a barber shop. Walking in, the environment looked like a lonely hearts café. During a Thursday lunch rush hour, nearly all the customers were by themselves on their phone, myself included. The environment was peaceful, but not captivating, as people spent most of their time scrolling through social media posts and emails. With a dormant environment, the place was overstaffed, with even some of the employees on their cellular devices. This was the most off-putting part about the restaurant as there was more than one employee sitting in one of the booths, being completely unproductive. I hope this is not a regular site at Jason's, as the service was otherwise acceptable. As for the food itself, I was impressed by the lunch specials available. The Maki Combo appeared to be the most enticing, with the choice of two different rolls and miso soup all for $8.95. With the total being nearly the cost of one roll of grocery store sushi, this is one of the best deals I have seen around. I decided order my favorite roll, Unagi, or freshwater eel, then I picked spicy tuna as I wanted something both flavorful and simple. Overall, the Unagi did not disappoint. Although the roll wasn't as packed with flavor as other sushi restaurants deliver, sometimes the less flavor the better. When it comes to cheap eel, my standards are that the fish doesn't have the same consistency as animal fat, and that it doesn't have a poor after taste. This fish passed, without having either negative attribute. The spicy tuna was lackluster at best and lacked the heat I was hoping for. Worse yet, the serving of wasabi was far too small, causing me to eat the rest of the lackluster roll with only soy sauce. Looking over the menu beyond what I ordered, this restaurant is not for sushi connoisseurs, but for someone craving a roll on a budget. The special rolls don't appear too exciting, with titles often more exciting than what you actually get. Don't expect to find any exciting fish or unique alternatives, this menu caters best toward traditional rolls. Overall, this hidden corner proves to be a great sushi dive but is far from a gem. The menu has potential and offers products beyond the scope of sushi, but has plenty to offer for people who are craving uncooked fish. Jason's trumps grocery store sushi competitors in taste and cost. However, if the restaurant wants to be among the best, it will have to create a more captivating menu that will make a customer put their phone down.

Delicious food and great service. I highly recommend the egg drop soup!! Everything is always delicious and you can tell it is cooked to order and isn't sitting. The spring rolls are amazing as well. I got the crab cheese wontons and those are also especially delicious. They have so much to choose from and it is definitely worth it.

We usually get Jason's Thai delivered but we went there for the first time this week and I thought I'd share. The restaurant is really clean, good menu with a lot of choices. The service is okay, and the prices are moderate. If you go there you have to get their potstickers, they are the best.

I love this place. I have never felt rushed, nor have I felt ignored. The food is exactly what I want, and the price is reasonable. I usually come here about every other week, and am always happy. The only critique I have is that the entryway is awkward. There's no space to stand while you are waiting to be seated, and there's no host stand. You just walk in and hope someone sees you.

I know this is a thai restaurant and all, but it's not really a good idea to have someone who doesn't speak English take the phone orders. I ordered the pineapple curry, and when the woman asked me what kind of meat I wanted, I told her shrimp and tofu. She decided to give me chicken....I frickin' hate chicken... When she asked for my address I said " ___ E 12th avenue." She literally asked me to repeat my street address 6 times. When she read my address back to me to make sure she had it down correctly, she said "Evans"... No, East 12th!! 15 minutes after I hung up, a man called me back asking what my address was.... When the delivery guy dropped off my order, he told me that I am actually outside of their delivery zone, so they won't be able to deliver to me again. Thats fine with me!

  • Annie M.

This place was awesome. They had a huge menu, including things that I've never really seen on a chinese menu. I ordered egg drop, which I liked (aside from the tofu). The egg rolls were perfect and the hot mustard was nice and strong. For my entree I ordered the jalapeno beef. Large portions, good quality. Took a little bit but that made me more certain that the food wasn't sitting around all day.

Don't order any of the soup! This time I ordered Hot and Sour soup and it made my craving go out the window. It tasted filmy and lukewarm; almost like it had been sitting in a container all day. Even Panda Express has better Hot and Sour soup. This time i ordered Spicy Basil Chicken. It was neither hot nor spicy when it came out. Again, the waitstaff was sluggish until they walked to the cash register to yap at the sushi chef and manager about nonsense. (Yes, you have customers that speak Mandarin and Taiwanese fluently!) I will not be heading back after this last time. I went back with no expectations again and the service is poor and food is mediocre. Drive to Cherry Creek North and you will find much better Thai/Chinese restaurants there.

Best drunken noodles I've had. It's so flavorful and the noodles are never soggy or too soft. The other dishes are great too and we had high expectations since their drunken noodles were so good. It was hard to order something else but I'm glad we did. The thing about Jason's Thai is that their service is very bad. Most of the servers that we've had don't speak english very well and it makes it really hard to communicate with them. They don't understand some of the menu items and so you never get them in the end. Once they just left the table after only receiving one of our orders in a table of 3. We didn't know if she was going to come back or...? We had to call on another server to finish ordering. I live about 2 minutes away from there and as lazy as it sounds, I think I might have to get it delivered or take out because it's not worth the wait or the hassle of actually going to the restaurant.

While in Denver, I happened on Jason's. Driving by, I saw the sign for the lunch special with sushi and other Asian opportunities...and they have Sapporo. Once you walk in, you will understand the significance of the statement that they have Sapporo On entering, the muzak was jazzy and at a smart volume. Both TVs on, one showing sports and the other showing business...volumes muted but closed captioning on. Quick scan showed about 2/3 of seats full...3 at the sushi bar and various folks at numerous tables. By a quick count, 40 seats, though I could not be held to it... Waitperson caught my eye less than a minute after I entered and waved me over, gesturing to a table near the sushi bar. I sat, he brought menu and a glass of water, and inquired if I was curious about sushi. I replied that I was not, and he asked if I wanted eda mame as an appetizer. On asking the price, I declined, requesting a minute or two to peruse the menu. With regret, I found no Som Tom on the menu. In looking at the list of offerings, the lunch special seemed a good start. I ordered Broccoli Beef, which called to me. My order arrived at the table in about 5 minutes, with seasoned beef surrounded by steamed broccoli. The sauce...flavorful...nothing really stuck out about it. The broccoli...perfectly steamed, artfully arranged. Steamed rice on the side was ok. Will have to try again...

The place is clean and updated despite the crumby look of the shopping center. There are two MASSIVE TVs in this place for sports lovers. They even had an international basketball game on when I was there to compliment NFL football. There's a sushi bar and also table seating. I called in my order and it was ready 5 mins later as promised. While the guy on the phone was a little hard to understand, he was super friendly in person and was very prompt in handing me my order when I walked in. I ordered the Sesame Chicken based on other review. Solid dish but I'm looking forward to ordering other things off of the menu. I also ordered the un-fried spring rolls (2 for $4). Peanut size was warm and a nice surprise. Portions were decent but would have preferred a little less vegetables and more chicken. From the sounds if it, this place is better than the Thai place across the street and I'd go back here without an hesitation. I'm also looking to take advantage of their happy hours specials which seem pretty reasonable.

Worst delivery experience ever! Two friends and myself were ordering off the lunch menu. When the lady gave up our total, she over charged us by $20!! When asked her why and she hung up! Had to call back three times before we actually got someone on the phone who wouldn't hang up on us. Finally asked why it was so expensive and she said the menu changed. The menu we were ordering from was given to me a week ago! She said the menu has been changed for over a year. She wouldn't listen to me when I kept trying to ask how much everything changed in price. Even with the new prices, we were over charged by $12. We cancelled out order and the lady cussed me out before hanging up.

My boyfriend and I often go to Jason's Thai because they have (or claim to have) vegetarian hot and sour soup- which is my absolute favorite soup. Last night my friend and I ordered Jason's Thai for delivery, to which I got Buddha's Feast. It was very, very tasty. The only problem is that I found a chicken bone in my order. I have a vegan diet because of food allergies and digestive problems (among other ethical reasons). Almost immediately after eating my meal, I was extremely sick for the rest of the night and early morning. I tried to get in contact with Jason's Thai to ask whether or not their vegetarian option are indeed vegetarian, but there was no email, only a fax. Over all, the food is amazing, but the vegetarian options are very iffy. I'm afraid to eat there again.

It seems as though Jason's Thai has gone downhill over the past few months. The food just hasn't been as good. Also, the service has been very slow -- the past two times I've been I've had to get up and ask the waiter for the bill. It's disappointing because this used to be one of my go-to spots for lunch!

Saturday April 25th 2009 : Had a late lunch, early dinner with Hubs at Jason's Thai Asian Bistro & Sushi after running around town to do some of our errands. The interior indeed was quite "posh" from the last time we visit this place formerly known as Isle Of Singapore. The decor is modern but we were not so sure with regards to the paintings which has Egyptian motifs. At least now they have a sushi bar. The Asian menu are pretty the same what we can find in most Asian restaurants here in Denver. These are what we ordered: * Spicy Octopus * Spinach Cheese Wontons * Satay Chicken * Jason's Pepper Steak * Grilled Lime Peppe Shrimp I have the Spicy Octopus as part of my appetizer. Hmm, its tiny sushi and just OK for my taste bud. Nothing fancy and I am NOT WOW with the sushi. As for the Chicken Satay we rate it between 2.5 to 3 stars. Its just OK. At least it came out pipping hot. For main entrees, Hubs had his Jason's Pepper Steak while I choose the Grilled Lime Pepper Shrimp. Hubs said that his main entree is OK, spicy enough for him but with a disppointment since they served the spicy level with just red chilli pepper flakes. The Jason's Pepper Steak consists bell peppers and other vegetables. How they plate the rice is quite unique since it came out as a shape of Pyramid. As for my main entree, the shrimps were overdone. At least they have variety of vegetables of broccoli, sugar snap peas, asparagus, mushrooms, carrots and celery . Hubs opt for a Vietnamese Hot Coffee for his beverage while I opt for just water. He likes his hot coffee. We had some leftover and had 2 to-go-to boxes for the leftovers. Service is prompt and fast. All in all this place, its an OK place to eat with just 3 stars. Had a great lunch here today! Service was a tiny bit slow, but the food came out fast. They even sat us in a private VIP room that had karaoke (that you can rent out for $25/hr... they should advertise that more!!). Anyway, great spot!

This place is hit or miss, but mostly a hit. Living around campus, I frequent this place a lot because it's so close. I love the tropical fried rice or the steamed vegetable platter. I haven't ever tried the sushi but I have friends who like it. A nice place for a quick and delicious bite to eat.

Jason's Thai is delish. I have a lot of friends who have had bad experiences here, but it never happened to me, and I went here a lot. The sushi is good (not amazeballs, but it's good enough!) and the other plates are gigantic, and also good. Good atmosphere too, easily the "nicest" place to eat in the immediate DU campus area.

A few coworkers and I headed to Jason's Thai in celebration of both a birthday and a surpassed deadline that was kicking our butts for the past few months. We figured we had earned a decent lunch and the birthday girl settled on Jason's Thai. The interior has greatly approved from its original abysmal form of when it was previously Isle of Singapore. I always appreciate a place that employs staff native to the cuisine that was featured, so our Asian waitress with limited English speaking abilities was a bit of assurance to how the meal would turn out. The menu is very similar to what you would find at Spicy Thai which includes your traditional Thai dishes along with Sushi. If I am seeking out good sushi, I tend to go to the joints that specialize in it rather than an establishment that has it as an afterthought. However, my coworkers who come here frequently for sushi suggested we order each one of their sushi lunch combos along with an order of edamame and share them between the four of us. Their lunch sushi combos are a good deal, priced just under $10 include your choice of soup. There are 4 combos providing a bit of diversity between each one catering either to the sashimi, roll, or nigiri buff. Overall, the quality of the sushi was much better than I would expect from a Thai place. After our meal, our waitress kindly brought the birthday girl a complementary dessert initiating the birthday song. Most waitresses who are even fluent in English won't even sing that song. If you are looking for sushi in walking distance to the DU campus , don't dismiss Jason's Thai completely. Descent sushi without the price or stuffiness of close by Sushi Den plus it looked as though their Thai dishes mirrored those of Thai Basils.

#612 I have been here way too often to not have already written a review. This place has enough variety and consistent quality that everybody is always up for it. I've had several of their curries and plenty of their sushi rolls and I've loved them all. The recent expansion has also really livened up the place. The waiters are generally pretty good with service, though it can get rather busy during lunch time and they might forget about you. Their to-go portions are smaller than I'd like so dining in is always a preference. But, they deliver to the law building and it came in handy these past couple of weeks with finals and such. All in all, I'm here at least twice a month if not more.

Maybe I ordered too much. 3 1/2 stars is my estimate. Stopped by for dinner, to check out what became of Isle of Singapore. Jason's Thai Asian Bistro has an updated. modern interior, with a new Sushi Bar. Two HD Televisions, one tuned to the Rockies, the other with Anthony Bourdain in Vietnam. Cool start! I sat alone at the bar, tended by Dee. He made me a number of sushi items, all high quality & tasty: Tuna, Salmon & A roll with ingredients I cannot recall. Dee also treated me to a piece of Hamachi. Very personable, we talked about the restaurant, and Bourdain. I also ordered the Spicy Basil Fried Rice off the menu. The fried rice included beef, egg, peas and jalapenos for the spice. At the restaurant, I found it a bit bland. However, sitting here eating the leftovers I find it tastes much better than the first time around. Kinda like my mom's split pea soup. Wait till the next day :-) I'll have to go back & try the non-sushi again to see if the place deserves four star status. But then, where do I go for Chinese New Year Lion Dance events?
