I'm not sure these guys know what authentic means. I ordered the new dragon special (beef, shrimp, scallops), and I was sorely disappointed. There was no shrimp and only a small, single piece of scallop. The wonton tasted of over cooked ramen, and the egg drop was basically watered down chicken b roth with some grease in it. I would not recommend this place, your money would be better spent at a dollar scoop in the south federal area. Unless of course you enjoy bland food and limp vegetables. Also, the one star, is two stars more than this place, deserves.

Worst Chinese I've had. Served me stale as fuck chicken for 30 bucks. Fuck this place. Seriously.

I came in for take out. They were fast, polite, and the food was good.

A very nice Asian woman seated me in the quiet, well kept dining room for lunch. I ordered sesame chicken. It came with fried rice, egg roll and choice of wonton, egg drop or hot and sour soup. Sesame chicken was quite good. Rice a little more like yellow saffron rice and the egg roll was pretty bad. The soup and chicken saved the meal and my server brought more rice for my meal free of charge. While I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, if you're in the area it's decent Chinese food. They must be doing something right since they've been around for nearly two decades.

New Dragon? More like Fail Dragon? The dry sweet & sour chicken might not be so terrible if they would have actually given me my sweet & sour sauce. The fried rice is terrible and literally the worst fried rice I have ever had. The egg rolls are tiny and not that great either. They also gave me no plasticware to eat with. When I called the restaurant back and asked them to call the driver, the woman on the phone was extremely rude and then refused and said I would have to wait until later when he returned to the restaurant before they would check with him. Thanks but I have things to do and can't wait around 2 hours for a fork and some sauce when you could easily call your driver who left less than 5 mins ago and at least get my something to eat with. Avoid this place like the plague.

I have been coming here since my family moved from California a while back and I'll tell ya it's one of my favorite Chinese places in Denver. It's a family owned restaurant and the staff is friendly and knows our family. It's kind of a small quiet place but the food is great. I recommend the shrimp fried rice, vegetable noodle soup, wonton soup, beef and broccoli, and sesame chicken. I usually get with my family and that's all I need. I highly recommend this place, it's not gourmet but its damn good.

Not sure why there's so many bad reviews. Maybe it's because I dined in that I had a good experience? Who knows. The place is clean and roomy and there's a lot of parking. The prices are really good as you get large portions and the wait staff are very friendly. I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp. It comes with the head and shell still attached which should be your first hint that it's not deveined. You're in a Chinese restaurant. If you want deveined shrimp, then do it yourself or don't order it. The seasoning was a bit on the salty side, but it paired well when eating it with plain, steamed rice. I also ordered the wonton soup and an order of fried pork dumplings. The soup was good, but I didn't care for all the cabbage in it. The dumplings were delicious. Fair warning, though, the dipping sauce packs some heat! My friend ordered the sweet and sour shrimp lunch. For a lunch portion, it was huge! This dish is not the usual red sweet and sour sauce over shrimp. It was more of a sweet soy type of brown sauce. Not bad, but different. His meal also came with an Americanized egg roll. Not my thing, but he said it was delicious. You'll receive enough food for leftovers and the takeout boxes come with little red pandas on the box. Very cute. All-in-all, this is a good, tasty, cheap place for lunch.

Friendly staff but......some of the worst Chinese food I have had in years:(. I love hot & sour soup and theirs had pretty much no flavor; the General Tso chicken was ALL breading. Don't waste your money here! I miss the previous ownership-good luck to the new owners.

I've gone to probably 20 Chinese restaurants trying to find my go to in Denver and this is currently it. They make their shrimp or chicken with broccoli with brown sauce instead of clear, best general tso chicken imo. They are missing spare ribs and good dumplings but besides that it is really good most of the time.

It's not horrible but it's not great. The orange chicken is good but I ask for extra spicy and it seems that they just loaded it with red pepper flakes. Hot and sour soup is one of the best things m, and my wife loves the wonton soup. Delivery is kinda slow at times but as long as your not expecting the best Chinese food in Denver then you'll be satisfied.

This has got to be the worst Chinese food in town. We ordered the meal for 2 special and what we paid middle to high quality prices for was worse than the scoop Chinese on Colfax! The walnut shrimp was topped with cashews... Not a big deal, but the shrimp itself was rank and cold. My sesame chicken looked as if it had sat in open air for an hour or so before being packaged and delivered to me. The worst part was the egg rolls. They were slimy and sour and I immediately spit out my bite. I called to get a refund for my uneaten order, that I packaged back up, minus a few bites, to give back to the driver. After an hour passed I decided to call them again. The man on the phone told me a manager was not in and he could help. I asked him where my refund was and he replied that it'd be refunded to my card. Finally I told him that I had played in cash, smh, and he told me he would need to call the driver and that the driver would be there shortly.. It has been another hour and my driver is still not here... Guess I should call them back, yet again, after I finish writing this.

I've got to say, I was inclined to give a four or lower due to the fact that the sesame products were ok and the booth was kinda funky too. But then I tasted the chow fun. I've had a decent amount of chow fun in my Chinese food eating time and this was some of the best I've had. The service is very good and fast, I highly recommend it for some of the food, if you get the right stuff it's amazing.

This place is super mysterious to me because I've only ordered from the take out menu. I rarely order Chinese-American food, but every now and then I crave fried yummy tastiness. I love the fried rice from here. I ate an entire order of shrimp fried rice and I wasn't even that hungry, but it was sooo good and had big pieces of shrimp in it! Typical Chinese take away menu. All the usual stuff and lunch and dinner specials. One day I might check out this place face to face...but for now I'm content calling up and ordering in.

I just bought the Sesame Beef and it was the most pathetic dish of Chinese food I have ever seen. There was maybe 20 pieces of half cooked beef swimming in sweet and sour sauce... and nothing else!?!? What? That's $10!?!? I took one bite and almost threw up, just terrible. They just put in no effort what so ever. I love Chinese food, I really do... and being hungry and wanting comfort food I am not really setting the bar very high, but this was just disgraceful. They made the most minimal attempt to put some slop in a container and serve it off. I just wasted $13 and I'm still hungry! I wish I could post a picture to really show you how terrible it is.

I order one or two dishes from New Dragon Cafe, those two dishes are the pork fried rice and the chicken fried rice. I love this two dishes because they are bad for you in that they are greasy but to me it is the good kind of grease. Basically I find New Dragon Cafe's food to be a guilty secret. It is not the healthiest of food but I find that it is certainly tasty. If you ever need to order out I would recommend New Dragon Cafe.

Oh Rats...I really hate giving someone a bad review, but this was really bad Chinese-American food. Super thick syrupy sauces and limp overcooked veggies. It's hard to mess up chicken/broccoli but they succeeded. The delivery guy was super nice though!
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
