Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

What a great little place! All hidden away in Five Points with all of it's warmth and charm. and of course, all of it's deliciousness. Darn, I wish I was closer! What a neighborhood gem! They are servin up sammies and salads and soups full of love here. I had the french onion sandwich and my husband had the meatloaf sandwich. We shared soup and homemade soda. Honestly, you really can taste the love. I haven't had food like that for some time. The home made sodas were tha bomb, awesome flavors such as cucumber and pineapple ginger. All sorts of yummy desserts filled the counter tops like cookies, breads, and cakes. I wish I would have had room, I never have room! I want to go back on a cold snowy day, which I have a feeling will be very soon!

Great atmosphere and the staff are super chill. The Chicken Pesto & Feta and a Cucumber Soda make for quite an awesome lunch.

Was looking for a sandwich restaurant near my office and found this place on yelp. I was definitely not disappointed! The staff was friendly and the menu offered a wide selection. I tried the meatloaf sandwich with cheddar on sour dough bread. It was absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be back for lunch very soon.

I'm new to this neighborhood since starting a new job, and was turned onto this place by a coworker. I stopped in for lunch one day and was really impressed. I love the quirky spots that are popping up in Whittier/LoDo/RiNo, and this place is a little gem. I had a salad and cup of soup, sat on the little patio, and enjoyed the whole experience. My soup was outstanding; carrot and ginger, I believe (soup of the day). The salad was also great, especially because I added some bacon. I think it was pear and pecan with some cheese and leafy greens. My one concern is they served my friend a latte in a glass without a handle. She drank it with her little hand covered in a scarf so as not to burn her fingers. Other than that, we both really enjoyed the meal.

Really nice bistro in the neighborhood. All the sandwiches are delicious (try the buffalo Reuben!) and the staff is really friendly. The reason why I have only 4 stars is the limited space. If there are more then 12 people in there you might feel like in a subway at rush hour.

Tasty food, good vegetarian options, cozy nice atmosphere. The staff were incredible, as well. My wife was under the weather (to say the least), and they were so kind, considerate and helpful for our stay. Wonderful people.

What a nice place. Great food, nice environment and super nice servers and cooks. Very pleasant place. I would return.

Tried this place on a whim, after Yelp's Nearby feature suggested it. I had an excellent beet salad (ok, ok, the bread it came with was the highlight), a refreshing cup of coffee (black, not too bitter, good and flavorful) and a refreshing home-made cucumber italian soda (I'm a sucker for anything with cucumber in it). So, so yum. Would recommend to anyone in the Denver area. The vibe was nice and chill. Couple people eating outside on the patio, one person hunched over a laptop, and more than a few people in and out for lunch orders. Solid little joint.

So. So. Tiny. Seriously, I could put this place in my pocket and carry it around with me - which wouldn't be a half bad idea, because it is very tasty. The menu is limited so picky eaters may not fall in love with it but it is well worth checking out if you are up in the Curtis Park/RiNo 'hood and have a hankering for a bite. I had a panini with chicken pesto and feta - gah! So very, very delicious. They also have house-made sodas with crazy interesting flavors like mango-jasmine, black currant, and pineapple-ginger. For some silly reason, I didn't try and of them. I'll report back after I do. I don't understand how they'll be able to turn enough tables to make any money, but I hope they stick around - really tasty and worth a return visit, as the menu changes.

Thrilled to find this place. The coffee and breakfast burrito we split for lunch were both delicious. The owner and his assistant/helper/sidekick were delightful, and the Star of David on my coffee saucer inside of which bore the initials "BJ," left me with a sophomoric smile all day!! Behold: yelp.com/biz_photos/sZwf…

This is a great place in the RiNo area for lunch. I had the TBS (turkey, bacon, and swiss) hot, and it was amazing. With the sandwich they included a small leafy salad. The raspberry bars are fantastic too. It was hot out, but it wasn't a frigid shock going inside. My 2 qualms were: it is a bit pricy, but justified, and there's not much seating if they'd get slammed.

  • Melissa T.

French Onion Soup Sandwich: OMG YUM. And vegetarian, to boot. This place is tiny and simple in every respect. Multiple chalkboards hanging up comprise the menu, which includes plenty of vegetarian options as well as sodas made in house. (I have only tried the cucumber, and it was too sweet for me to finish the whole thing, but it was tasty.) Definitely not a good option for a large group, but perfect for lunch à deux. Service is fast and friendly. My only gripe is the hours. I've probably tried to pop in three times when they've been closed (hello, Sunday after a yoga class at the studio next door).

  • Tiffany N.

What an awesome little find! Sir Nicholas and I stopped by here over the weekend for a quick breakfast and it was wonderful. First of all the place is fairly small - I would not recommend going with a group larger than 3 otherwise seating could be tricky at best. It's a pretty narrow space that's set up more like a cafe and less like a restaurant - you order from the counter and then find a table and wait for your food. The menu is pretty small and simple, but that doesn't make it any less delicious. There are just a handful of options for breakfast and lunch, things like breakfast burritos or egg sandwiches, hummus plates or deli sandwiches. They are all reasonably priced and the servings are too big. For example an egg and feta breakfast sandwich only cost $4, but it's not quite as big as a sandwich made with two slices of bread. The coffee is also the delicious and as many folks have already mentioned the homemade soda options are lovely. Throw free Wi-Fi and very friendly workers into the mix and I think I've found another favorite spot in the city!

Cute and cozy describe this place well. Not sure if we would've stayed had we not found a table. The menu is written on the wall and there's lots to select from. I went with the chicken pesto sandwich and it was very good. I enjoyed the small salad it came with too. Most items were $8-10. I wouldn't go here if you're in a rush. Our meal of 2 sandwiches took at least 15 minutes to come out.

Great place to grab a coffee and a bite after a morning run. It's small, friendly and not super crowded. The hot food was also a nice touch and came out very quickly.

This little restaurant is so cute, it ought to be illegal. We stopped in here for some breakfast, post sewer scoping at the new house and en route to the Garden and Home show. Bear in mind that we haven't moved up north yet, still live in the land of plentiful bars and restaurants, and therefore don't yet have a biased view towards the much smaller quantity of places in our new neighborhood. That said, I'm really looking forward to being near this place! We ordered breakfast sandwiches and although small, they're only $4 and don't leave you overly full. The standout for me is their extensive homemade soda offerings. Out of curiousity, I went for peach spice. Super bubbly, with a very light and fresh peachy flavor. Just a hint of sweetness. I can't wait to puruse all of their offerings (mango jasmine has my name on it, in particular). You can even get them made into bellinis and the like if you're in the mood for an adult drink. They also have a nice list of wine and local beers which would make this place a good weekend afternoon hang. Hutch and Spoon. I'll take it.

  • Val V.

I love this place! I used to frequent this place a lot when I worked downtown so I miss it dearly. Plus its right next to the Novo factory....don't get any fresher coffee than that! Staff has always been nice to me too. Only downside is make sure if you order only coffee you have cash, minimum $5 charge on cards. I get it from a business standpoint but also inconvenient for someone like me who a majority of the time has only a card.

So stoked to have this spot in our neighborhood, it's one of the few places for a bite to eat in Curtis Park/Rino. The space is small, but really lovely and interestingly decorated. The smallish menu of salads, sandwiches, and some breakfast items, including coffee, feature simple delicious flavor combinations. And the Italian sodas, baked goods, wine and beer make it a great spot for a relaxing afternoon meal. I've never had a bad experience here. The couple of guys that work here are very sweet, always asking how you're doing, wishing you a good afternoon and when it's quiet will strike up a conversation if you desire. The service isn't lightening speed, but the food is quality and made with care which outweighs the few minutes you'll wait for your sandwich or coffee. Hutch and Spoon is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood and worth a special stop if you don't live nearby. Try the meatloaf sandwich if it's around, or at breakfast the Feta Egg Sandwich is rich and hearty despite at first appearing small.

I started working right around the corner from here and let me tell you I was so excited to see a place like this so close!!!! You walk in and it is small and quaint but really unique. Has its own style that is for sure. I quickly became a regular are the staff there started knowing my name and my order, Hummus plate and a Vanilla passion fruit soda!! Wow yum. The hummus is smooth and just the right amount of garlic served with cucumbers and olives and crisp bread and a side of olive dressing (I always get extra). It is a very filling light lunch or a snack to share. The custom sodas they have are all really good, the vanilla passion fruit is my fav, but the others are just as good. They have a few items on the menu that rotate on a seasonal basis and I try to give them are try and have never once been disappointed. The only semi negative thing I can say is that when they are busy "lunch rush" the service can be kinda slow. So I just learned if I was in a crunch for time to call and place a to-go order over the phone. Overall wonderful place!! Wish I lived close by so I could eat lunch and dinner here, I hear they do happy hour?

Fun little place in the middle of well....not really anything. Had lunch with my friend and he recommended it from all of the good yelp reviews. 1 start for having the menu online (I was ready to order once we got there) and 1 for being out of the way (lots of easy parking) So we ordered and it's small, but cozy. I enjoyed the meatloaf sandwich. REALLY cheesy...right up my alley! I'll totally be back here. Really reasonable and not a far drive from downtown at all.

The lovely Claire S. invited me to join her here for lunch, and I'm so glad I accepted. Not just because Claire rocks, but because Hutch & Spoon is charming and delicious. It was a cold, snowy day, so I ordered a cup of Novo coffee (my favorite). for lunch, I had the tuna & eggplant caponata sandwich. It was an interesting and flavorful mix of a Nicoise and caponata, with olives and capers. This is a cozy place with character; I could hang out here all day. I can't wait to return to try more menu items, like the house-made sodas and the french onion sandwich.

  • Patrick G.

Warm, inviting space. Friendly enough staff. Up-and-coming location. Terrible food. Breakfast burrito was cold (not microwaved long enough?) and--worse--bland. A truly insipid dish: blech. Coffee was pretty meh, too.

  • Monica L.

I should give this place 5 stars because for what it is, I'm sure it's as good as it gets. It's a tiny, delightful place with a tiny, delightful menu. I had a cup of soup, a salad and a sandwich. The split pea soup with bacon was outstanding, the pear, goat cheese and candied pecan salad was excellent, and the grilled cheese with pear chutney on sourdough was delicious. You order at the counter and then the staff brings you your drinks, silverware and meal. I felt very well taken care of. So, for what it is, the atmosphere, service and food are all top-notch.

  • Zoe W.

This is the sort of place you will walk into and wait a minimum of 5 minutes to be acknowledged. The menu sounds really good, but most things are not made fresh and do not come with much (such as the veggie burger that comes without lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc). I paid $8 for iced tea and 1/4 a cup of oatmeal.

I get the same thing every time. I should branch out, but it's so yummy. I was disappointed at first when I asked if they had a gluten free bread option and the only choice was a really thin flatbread (it's a gf tortilla), but I got the egg and feta sandwich on it anyway. It was so yummy. It honestly looks like the most boring sandwich ever, but it's very tasty. I keep meaning to get a nutella and banana sandwich but I can't seem to give up the egg and feta one. The house made sodas are nice too. It can tend to be a tad warm in here, so if you're all bundled up for winter, you may want to have on a layer or two you can remove so you don't overheat while eating.

This little place is awesome! If you're not in the mood for Crema, I suggest you hop down the street to this little gem. The sandwiches are great (meatballs!!!) and their housemade sodas are the best for a hot day! I have tried most of them and I definitely liked the cucumber soda the best. The service is a little slower and the place is tiny but it's a great place to have an intimate lunch that is both tasty and refreshing.

I lived a block away and only discovered Hutch & Spoon a month before I moved. Their chili is amazing and everyone has always been so nice! They even helped out and gave me some boxes for the move!! Even though I live further away now, I'm making the trek back for a latte and some chili!

Eateries like Hutch & Spoon are rare no matter what city you live in. For Denver though, they are undiscovered gems or diamonds in the rough. That exceptionally rare breed of cafe that is all but unheard of in Denver. If not for anything else, the aesthetic of Hutch is something that would elevate just about any other cafe or restaurant. It's shimmeringly clean with giant windows that fill the whole place with a brilliant sunlight. There is so much natural light we wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have any other lights. If it's a cloudy day maybe they light candles or hand everyone who walks in a headlamp. Really, who knows?! What we do know is these homemade sodas they do are out of this fucking world. While the food we've had has been good, it wasn't awe inspiring. They also have wine and sparkling concoctions but those damn sodas. We end up driving the whole way across town through that Broadway/Lincoln/Park Ave. bullshit just to try a new flavor at least twice a week. Our favorite so far? Cucumber. Then again we could eat a cucumber just about every second of every day while wearing a few slices on our eyes and smothering cucumber lotion all over our bodies. So maybe for the more normal soda drinkers the peach spice would be a nice choice. Either way, Hutch & Spoon might be in the middle of nowhere -- unless of course you're reading this in 2015 and all of Five Points has been completely gentrified -- but it is one of the few cafes we're genuinely floored by in this fair city.

2.5 Honestly I was disappointed. I'm happy to drive to a random neighborhood for some delicious brunch, but when I'm greeted with the slowest service of all time, and the guy in charge says, "sorry we're still waking up" at 10:30 on a Saturday... it's questionable at best. The menu is small (which is fine) so long as everything on that small menu is good...and available (which it wasn't). I was there with a few friends so we sampled it all. Although they received a lot of hype I thought the burritos were dry and a little lacking in flavor at best, the "fruit plate" was a sliced banana with a few grapes (!), and yes the nutella/banana sandwich was tasty- no surprise(but they ran out of bread for one of us). Even the coffee tasted rough... The only glimmer of hope was the home made sodas which were delicious...but that's not enough to run your business on. It was easily food I could have made at home, but maybe not even as good as I would have made it. Too bad!

"Did you mean Touch and Spoon?" This is what my friend's GPS said when he picked me up and decided that instead of my saying "Its on 30th and Lawrence", he has to use his fancy new phone GPS. Anyway, I still am ROFL about that. To note, Hutch and Spoon is a cafe -a small, cute, and quaint one at that- certainly good for a meeting of a party of 1-3 I would say. I like the area- it was really nice on Saturday and its in an up and coming area- very clean inside and such, LOVE the handwritten menus boards- although it takes a minute of two to read everything- they certainly have a eclectic array of items. I got a breakfast sandwich and my friend the breakfast burrito. The burrito was a good size, delicious and apparently filling because my friend let me have a bit after I had my sandwich, which, I might add seemed soooo tiny! It was good- but tiiiiiiiny. It was like, bite bite....done. Oh well. We each got a house-made soda- I got Pineapple-Ginger (AMAZING), and my friend a Cucumber (mmmmmm). Definitely a must. Overall, good place and would recommend.....although...I'm curious what and where the 'Touch and Spoon' is....

A cute little place, with a tiny menu, a great cup of coffee, and a warm staff. My honey and I are moving into a gorgeous loft in the neighborhood and stopped by for a yummy brunch on Saturday morning. The staff obviously cares about every detail. We love that it's super close because we intend to be here at least twice a week. I love the super simple decor and that it's done with style, as is the menu.

Never would have found this place out in Five Points had my wife not told me about it. I thought it was more restaurant-y but it's a little cafe with a frequently changing menu. I found the pricing a little odd. I ordered the egg and feta sandwich, and out came a very small sandwich, basically half a sandwich cut in half again. Like little sandwiches you might eat at tea, for $4. They were delicious, but definitely not satisfying so I ordered another one and then I was full. So, figure $8 for a filling and tasty egg sandwich. Not terrible, but not cheap. Enjoyed the homemade cucumber soda, it was very refreshing. I might return to try some other menu items, but I might have a snack at home first...

The ONLY reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because they aren't open on Sunday's... I love it so much but I only get Sunday and Mondays off:( The granola is awesome...either milk or yogurt will do it justice. The egg sammies are also amazing and I love that they come nicely toasted out of the oven and there isn't a microwave in the place. Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the love! Oh, and the music is always kicking with some new or underground band! I cant get enough.

The atmosphere more than anything stands out here. And the house made sodas - AWESOME!. We tried grapefruit - I should have got two of those instead of a coffee- sadly disappointing. The service was great and the breakfast burrito as well. Being such a fan of sweets, the one thing I would recommend is adding some fresh baked sweets to the list.

I live in the neighborhood, and it makes me happy to see new businesses opening up. This place is precious, very comfortable. The veggie breakfast wrap is divine. My only quibble are the hours. I work 7-4, so can't make it during the week, and have kung fu after 12 on Saturdays. The only time to enjoy the place is Saturday morning, but who wants to get up that early? I hope they expand their hours soon.

I work in the neighborhood and this is one of our office's favorite place's to eat. The chicken/feta sandwich at lunch is addicting. It is so good if I even think about it I have to have one. I tell the guy who runs it that they must put crack in the bread because it's so freaking good. The BF and I went in for breakfast one morning and I ordered the egg/feta sandwich. When I first saw it I was a little disappointed... it was only half a sandwich and I thought that I was still going to be hungry when I finished. However, I underestimated what a huge portion of eggs was tucked inside that sandwich and I was stuffed by the time I was finished. It is now another thing I crave all the time. I try to make it at home, but it's just not the same (must be the crack in the bread). The BF (as always) got the breakfast burrito, which he enjoyed. I would give this place five stars except one of the boys that works there is a total douche-bag, and I think it's a little on the price-y side for the neighborhood.

I love this place. The people are friendly and counter-culture-but-not-snobby. They serve Novo coffee and it's gooooooooood. The food is delicious and artistically prepared. H&S uses fresh, local ingredients and their prices are a steal for such high quality fare. I had a curried chicken salad sandwich on ciabatta a few weeks ago. It was crisp and savory, even mood-altering! (With tip it came in somewhere under $10.) Today I stopped in for a snack and had one of their breakfast bars, featuring oatmeal, various nuts and dried fruit, and lots a coconut; it was filling, crunchy, and chewy. I can't wait to try more stuff on the menu!

I finally made it to Hutch & Spoon, and I loved it. In the middle of nowhere and the middle of everywhere you'll want to be, it always seemed just a bit too far out of the way. Yesterday I got on the scoot and rode over to meet a friend for lunch - a quick ride without the downtown congestion, it's close than you'd think! I love the look of this small breakfast and lunch spot. Small, clean and comfortable - the kind of place you'd want to sit and sip on a latte (or pineapple ginger soda) for hours. That soda is exactly what I had - one of many concoctions that fought for my attention. The food was good too - I had a tasty meatloaf and cheddar grilled sandwich with a small side salad. The portions aren't big, but neither is the price. It's all simple and good, and I'll be heading back soon!

I really give it 2.5 stars and rounded up to 3 because of the charm it has. However, I came here to try the breakfast burrito and well it was OK. The whole thing is that they do not make the burritos here. They apparently buy them from somewhere else and just heat them up. Very disappointing. That being said I guess it was ok except that the tortilla was a big soggy. It has a great ambiance in there like a small coffee shop. It is very small with less than 10 tables (which is what added to the charm). I like these small out of the way places but not sure I will rush back for breakfast. Some of the sandwich's looked good that went by to other tables.

Cool little hip joint in the "back pocket" of Denver... Five Points is turning out some rare gems, including Hutch & Spoon. 10 seats. That's it! A compact kitchen nearly the size of a hotel room closet. A dozen menu items written on an antique chalk board - brunch items, sandwiches, paninis and homemade soup. Warm and inviting, filled with the wafting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Home-baked goods, including scones, muffins and coffee cake make a nice complement morning... noon... anytime! Picture this: Imagine if your grandmother opened a tiny little cafe, and invited over some of your trendiest friends from the 'hood. That's it! That's Hutch & Spoon. Got a day off during the week and you want try something new for lunch? Give Hutch & Spoon a stir... You'll be pleasantly surprised!

We went here after reading reviews here. It was more of an industrial area than I expected, but really good food. The menu is written in chalk on cute items. I had the buffalo Reuben and my friend had the red pepper, pesto, mozzarella sandwich. They were both delicious. Cute small cafe.

Nice little place with great food I had the turkey and swiss mainly because they were out of the meatloaf that I was told again by my friend Matina was soooo good Well that was really good too and the cheese was so soft and creamy the best swiss I've ever had Very nice friendly service, a cute place

Hutch and Spoon is a new little place in my neighborhood- very cute, it reminded me of retro-modern meeting my grandmother's kitchen! The interior is a cool tile floor with minimalist decor. I love the menu display, which is handwritten on 6 small chalkboards that have individual wood frames. The menu itself is not enormous, but we tried the grilled cheese with peach chutney, the hummus platter, an iced mocha and a watermelon lemonade. Everything was tasty- the hummus platter came with babaganoush and traditional hummus and a nice toasted bread. I kind of expected some veggies, but the manager told me that one of their coolers went out over the weekend and most everything was tossed. The grilled cheese was amazing- they put the chutney right in the sandwich and it was really unique- though a little small for the price. I went home raving about the watermelon lemonade, which was made with fresh watermelon juice; what a refreshing summer treat! Overall, I enjoyed Hutch, and I hope that they bring in some more business because I've seen a lot of these little places in NoDo/5 Points come and go... they've done a spectacular job with the old building it's in, so go check it out for coffee, lunch or a treat!

Good stuff. Only about 5 tables. I got the spicy italian sausage sandwich, a special. I was eager to try the housemade sodas, and picked the mango. The sandwich was really good. Would have been nice if it came with chips. I didn't really care for the mango soda. But maybe it was just that flavor that wasn't right for me. The sandwich was good. I liked this place.

I love this little gem! Tucked into a neighborhood in fast transition, Hutch & Spoon is a great place to grab a morning coffee or house-made breakfast burrito. If they ever have a special written on the chalkboard, get it! I'm still having food dreams about the French toast with blackberry compote I ate oh-so-many months ago. And please, do yourself a favor and just say Yes! to the watermelon lemonade. You won't be disappointed. You'll love the quaint country kitchen feel of the mismatched flatware and napkins, and the divine little chalkboards that make Hutch's menu known to all. Wander around a bit peeking at the walls and you might find one out of your Grandma's spoon collection. Watch out for Sunday cravings though--Hutch & Spoon takes Sundays off for a day of rest.

Great little cafe! Nice quiet atmopsphere, good music, and simple tasty food. I'm a stickler for having a few things like gluten free options and they've been very accomodating about adding things to the menu and working around pickie eaters. Everything's made to order, staff is friendly........Just really solid all around!

Wow, this place is so cute you'll want to knit a sweater for it. Really great light, calm atmosphere and friendly service. My hummus plate was tasty and came with a far better presentation than I was expecting. The homemade soda put it over the top. The day we went they also had a watermelon drink on special which was fresh and amazing. The next time I'm in five-points, I'm stopping back.

AAAAAAAND another tasty thing I've had here: Chicken mozz. pesto sammy (for those of you who don't speak "dumb words for sandwiches," that's a sandwich). It was: Grilled to perfection. Warm, creamy/cheesy/pesto-y and chicken-riddled. Again, spot on proportions. Reminiscent of something made fresh, clean, and healthy in the kitchen with quality ingredients (and love, of course:-) p.s. when I mention "proportions," I DO NOT mean, "it's super small, which gives me an excuse to feel better and, in turn, yelp better, about my experience here...they make me feel thinner." Nope, that's not what I mean. WHAT I MEAN is it's a sandwich, right? It's not supposed to be a buffet in a bun.

Small and cozy, Hutch and Spoon caters to the NoDo crowd nicely with a limited but scrummy selection of breakfast and lunch items certain to please. Another restaurant that understands the importance of great coffee, they serve Denver's finest java, Novo. We loved the decor and they complimented the ambience with a nice Verve remix playing quietly in the background. The egg and feta breakfast sandwich was real tasty while the grilled cheese and chutney was criminally good...we are still talking about it. Great addition to the growing NoDo scene. Highly recommended.

Cafe Delivers Local in a Hutch & on a Spoon I dare you to find a cafe in Denver that delivers its local promise in a less pretentious and more authentic way than Hutch & Spoon. If this place doesn't epitomize the neighborhood cafe, I'm not sure what does. My husband, friend and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to fuel up for some house hunting in Curtis Park/Five Points. H&S's limited menu (which I appreciate) offered something for all of us. I ordered the special of the day, a French onion sandwich. It was a perfect gooey concoction of nothing more than caramelized onions, fresh gruyère and a little fancy mayo. Now that's what I call a grilled cheese. And it was served with some simple greens tossed in a light dressing. My husband ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage and cheddar and he had only one complaint -- where's the egg? My friend ordered the ham and cheese sandwich. I haven't eaten pork for 15 years and it had my mouth watering. We also all ordered espresso drinks, which arrived in actual glasses. That's right. The kind that can be washed and reused. Thank you Hutch & Spoon. Although, I took a peek at their to-go cups and I think they were compostable. One reason this place didn't get five stars -- the service. You're local, so please say hello when I walk up to the counter and don't act annoyed that I don't know what I want as soon as I cross the threshold. You're new to the neighborhood and so am I. And there's no one in line behind me. So, how about a helpful suggestion? Perhaps tell me what you like on the menu. Maybe the guy behind the counter was having a bad day, so don't let this keep you from popping in this quaint joint; it won't keep me from giving it another go.

I just noticed this place recently and decided to stop by for a coffee and breakfast today. The place is rather small, but that's just fine. I don't like a huge, loud Starbucks kind of place anyway. I ordered an Americano and breakfast burrito. The Americano was perfect, and it thankfully wasn't volcano hot so I was able to enjoy it immediately. The breakfast burrito was delicious and totally hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to this place to try some other things on the menu.

I'm so glad places like Hutch and Spoon are popping up in my neighborhood! I just discovered it and have been here a couple times - once for breakfast and once for a lunch meeting. The breakfast burrito was delicious and the meatloaf sandwich was amazing! I would put it in the top 5 sandwiches I've ever had. I also enjoyed once of their homemade sodas. The place is a little small, and it might take a little while to get your food but worth the wait! Overall though - worth a trip, and REALLY awesome that places like this are opening up in Five Points!

I just moved to the area and I was excited to find this cute little cafe just blocks away from my new home. I had a wonderful egg and feta sandwich and really yummy homemade ginger soda. My ONLY issue with the place is the portion size. The egg and feta sandwich was only 4$, but I would have rather paid $6 and gotten some breakfast potatoes on the side. They should at least offer sides for an added price.

Pass some dilapidated houses and row of abandoned warehouses, there stands Hutch & Spoon -- a sweet surprise in an area that otherwise is dusty with up-and-coming gentrification. But this place is a foreshadow of what's to come! It's fantastic! Everything from the ambiance to the ownership to the food is refreshing. I recommend the mushroom soup and the bellinis. Maybe not in one sitting, but then again, why not?

Psst --- let me tell you a little secret. If you sign up as a fan of Hutch and Spoon on Facebook, they'll give you a secret password that unlocks various in store specials, such as 2-4-1 drinks, $1 house-made sodas, and other discounts. This is cool because it is hard to not be a fan of Hutch and Spoon, with their cool interior tucked inside an old brick building in the former light industrial section of five points. The food is solidly good café food - sandwiches, breakfast burritos, pastries, etc. Their drinks are top notch with a great selection of sodas, coffees and teas. Best of all, they use Novo coffee, which I hear is significantly better than most coffees.

i loved Hutch and Spoon so much, I recommended it to a friend who was going to be visiting Denver (and she went and loved it too). my meat loaf sammich was deelish and a good way to balance out the bland-ish food I got from SAME cafe earlier that day. the ambiance is very Portland-esque (I'm a PDX-aficionado, what can I say?). a little off the beaten path but worth the trek, fer sure

After hearing great things about Hutch and Spoon, decided to [finally] stop by for a solo lunch. Ordered the mozzarella, basil, and roasted red pepper sandwich. It was delicious. The bread was toasted perfectly and the ingredients were super fresh. The service was great and the environment was low key/relaxing. They earned brownie points with their music (aka Sneaker Pimps). The rest of their menu looks amazing. Plan to go back next week...and the week after... Stop by this little gem. You will not regret it. :)

One of the better sandwiches I have had in a while. Creative takes on sandwich making and attention to the details in terms of flavors. I am looking foward to working my way through the rest of their menu. Staff was attentive and friendly, and the fel of the place was one of true comfort.

One thing-don't go here on sunday because they are closed. if hutch could be closed on monday instead that would make me happy. Sunday is the day for hutch and spoon. this is my attempt to get you to change your minds about that. alright go there!!!

Great new place with their own home-made sodas. We tried the Vanilla-Passion Fruit and the Cherry-Lime sodas. Had a great breakfast burrito, and my 1 year old enjoyed the retro high chair and the grilled cheese. Small menu, but definitely worth going back to for their great breakfasts and their fresh baked goods.

I agree with Nunya B...I don't understand why this place is actually getting good reviews. My boyfriend and I drive by it all the time and finally stopped in to eat breakfast. We were excited when we walked in, the place is really charming and cute. The menu seemed simple enough and sounded yummy. There was a little bit of a line when we got there but we were able to order fairly quickly. Well, it was enough of a rush for them for the guy to forget about us. It took my boyfriend going to the counter after about 15 minutes for us to get our coffee, which should be instant and then even longer for our food. And the food....it was microwaved and the ingredients were not high quality. The cheese was Velveeta slices or something of the sort and the portions were tiny. Needless to say, we were not impressed. I left feeling badly for the people that own it, I am sure with not much effort, the place could be really good. But good decor alone and some ok coffee will not make up for poor service and bad food.

Personally I am very glad that Hutch and Spoon is open and serving delicious food in the neighborhood. The breakfast sandwiches are a great way to start the day, the lunch menu is very moderately priced and incredibly delicious. Each menu item is very well balanced and the owner, Tracy Zimmer, has taken great care to select local naturally grown products to ensure that the food is fresh and healthy. It is amazing to me that people would knock his food when you can get a healthy meal, support a local business, and relax is a cool spot for under $10. I'd encourage anyone looking for a well priced, great tasting meal created with good intentions to stop in Hutch and Spoon to see for them selves. This Neighborhood needs more venues like Hutch And Spoon.

My wife and I were looking for something new and off the beaten path and we found good reviews for Hutch & Spoon. It's in a groovy industrial neighborhood north of the ball park and it was a great surprise...good food, vibe and people. Food looks to change frequently and don't miss the cucumber soda if it' on the menu. Embrace local people doing great things with food.

I went into this tiny spot for a grilled cheese with peach chutney and it was DELICIOUS! The peach chutney makes it. A friend had the breakfast burrito and said it was only average. I've also had the pear salad with glazed nuts and thought it was OK. Staff and other customers are friendly. Good vibe.

I think if I eat myself to the point of being uncomfortable, the food is probably pretty dang good. We stopped here for lunch after flying into Denver before driving into Aspen, and I was just delighted with the choice. I had a hard time narrowing down my choice, but had a chicken salad sandwich which was to die for. I had an iced espresso drink as well, and my BF had a pannini sandwich with chips. We both left full and happy. My only complaint was the service was a bit slow, and the dining area a bit cramped (we ended up sitting right by the counter so we got bumped by a few people standing in line to order). They were clearly busy though, so I don't think that warrants a star off. I look forward to coming here again next time I'm in Denver!

Stopped in for breakfast after going to spin in a Saturday morning with my partner and our realtor (yes, it's true, if you think your realtor is awesome, they probably think you are, too. Befriend them. #lifegoals) and were pleasantly surprised at so much. Small restaurant, so be prepared to squish. Cute ambiance with employees who genuinely seem to want to be there. We opted for mimosas because the spin class was a bust and all ordered breakfast burritos. The service was quick! My negative was the lack of sauces. It was a touch hot and dry and I was hoping for some sort of cream-based something to cool it down and make it juicer, but they only had salsa. But that was the height of my troubles, so this place was awesome otherwise. Great prices, too! Split a little sweet from the counter afterward just to eliminate all of the hard work done in spin class. Worth it.

I want to like this place more since it is right by where I live, but every time I go I always have a good, never great experience. The coffee is mediocre. The espresso drinks can't hold a candle to the 2-3 shops that are in the immediate vicinity. The food is fine, though the portions are small and rather on the expensive side. The service is hit or miss. I sometimes feel like I'm inconveniencing the counter person. I'll probably go a little out of my way to go elsewhere.

Ordered their chicken pesto with feta on sourdough sandwich for $8.50. This is their most popular. It's very savory and tasty. Note: They only have one power outlet near the window which is nice. They also have an outdoor seating area on the side of the building. They serve breakfast, lunch and include a beer, wine, espresso and house made soda menu.

I live across the street but do not make it in to this neighborhood gem often enough. The menu slightly changes seasonally, and the food is always top quality. Everything is fresh made, and delicious! The meatloaf and cheddar is divine. Soups, like everything else, are comforting and homemade.

Tiny, adorable space with delicious sandwiches and unique, housemade Italian sodas. You order at the counter, and they bring out your food on cute plates with silverware and cloth napkins. Love that! The menu rotates. I've liked all of the sandwiches that I've tried, especially the roasted red pepper sandwich with pesto and mozzarella. Sandwiches come with a simple green salad, perfectly dressed with a vinaigrette. Love that too! I've also liked all of the Italian sodas that I've tried, especially the cucumber soda and pineapple ginger soda. I have yet to try the coffee and sweet treats, but I'll get to those sometime.

This place has very yummy salads and sandwiches. It's a small quaint space. Most tables only seat 2-3 people, a few options to push tables together for 4 tops. The food is very good! I had the chicken pesto sandwich. Very well prepared. Great baked goods made fresh in house too. Staff is super friendly. Highly recommend this if you are in the neighborhood and are looking for a great lunch.

Cute little place! Great lattes. Giving it three stars for their breakfast only -- Their breakfast burritos were tasty but the way they make them is a little different! The eggs were in a long rectangle and looked microwaved. It would have been better if they took all the ingredients and chopped it all up together and then wrapped it in a tortilla. Again they tasted fine - just a little weird in the design. A little too heavy on the potatoes as well.

Love this place! Casual, friendly, good food. I come here one to two times a month, staff is friendly. They remember who I am. (Probably because I modify almost everything I order as I eat low carb) they are great about modifying the menu without looking at me like I am crazy. I had the unsweetened oatmeal and house made soda with champagne this morning. Made me happy :-)

What a cute place! Reminds me of Europe; loved their collection of spoons! The menu boards are so unique and please note they do change the menu items seasonally. I went in wanting to try the French Onion Soup sandwich that I've read so much about, but no such luck, it's only served in the winter time. Thank God my alternative, the "Roasted Meatloaf & Sharp Cheddar on sourdough" was offered. It turned out to be the best of the three sandwiches of the visit. The breads were buttery and had panini marks. The meatloaf smelled heavenly, if only it was a thicker slice. I mean, the name is "meatloaf", right? The "Curried Chicken Salad on Ciabatta" was an impulse order. The ingredients taste fresh and the curry dressing was pretty good but I'd like to introduce something here: SUGAR! I believe it'll elevate the flavor of the chicken salad so much if a little bit of sugar was used. The "Grilled Cheese with Peach Chutney" sandwich was a sweet ending. It was the perfect amount of sweet + savory and the texture of the chutney paired with the thick slide of cheese made the whole thing creamy, it was unbelievable! It's a good thing that each sandwich is paired with some green salads. I thought service could be a little warmer... When I asked for a box to take leftovers to go, they offered to pack it for me, but it kinda of grossed me out a little when the guy just came out from behind the counter and grabbed my sandwiches. I mean, who knows where his hands have been. Am I being too unreasonable? But I forgive him because he was the only one who smiled; plus he explained how to reheat the hot sandwiches! 3.5 stars.

I'm totally a fan of this place. Hutch and Spoon is a spot for great for a business casual meeting or to just sit back, relax and sip on a cup of Joe while you work on your laptop. I think one of the things that makes this place feel so comfortable is the natural lighting. Sunlight comes in from two sides of the building and makes the tiny space seem a bit larger than it actually is. I had my usual fresh brewed coffee (black). Since it was morning, I also had the hankering to order a sausage breakfast sandwich. I'm happy to saw it wasn't too greasy or heavy - just a couple little links cut in half and served between two slices of toasted bread. The sausage had a touch of spice and other seasonings that definitely elevated the taste of this otherwise simple sandwich. Also: Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. I can always dig that. I'll have to try the house made soda next time in there.

Awesome staff! They are so friendly and talkative. Really good drip coffee. Also ordered the egg and feta sandwich to go. A really fluffly egg patty with feta and a multi-grain toast. I saw someone get a breakfast burrito which looked fantastic. There are a few tables, a great place to grab a bite after doing yoga next door at Yoga Mat. A great find and so close to my home!

I stopped here while in Denver getting ready to catch a flight and head home from a long weekend ski trip in Summit County. My handy Yelp app steered me to this place, which in turn steered me to Little Man Ice Cream (based on a recommendation from the owner of Hutch & Spoon). This place was just what I was in the mood for...it's a quaint little shop with salads, soups, sandwiches, homemade sodas, and pastries. I ended up ordering a grilled cheese w/ peach chutney and an almond-pear soda. The sandwich was absolutely delectable! It was pretty big, perfectly toasted, full of ooey gooey cheese, and balanced out perfectly with the sweet & chunky peach chutney. Even though a grilled cheese isn't necessarily pushing the limits of the culinary world...this one was exceptionally good and executed perfectly. The sandwich was served alongside a tiny salad with a light, lemon vinaigrette...which was perfect to cut the richness from the carb/cheese overload of the sandwich. The soda was also delicious. It was not overly sweet or carbonated. I could taste the nuttiness from the almond and a slight sweetness from the pear to make for a nice & refreshing drink. I also tasted the pineapple-ginger and cherry-vanilla sodas. I wasn't a huge fan of the cherry one and the pineapple one was pretty tasty, but mine was my favorite. The pineapple one would be really nice in the summer since it was lighter than mine, but since it's winter, I preferred the almond-pear. There isn't much seating here so if you come during peak hours, you may have trouble finding a place to sit. The employees do seem to clean the tables off fairly quickly as people leave, so hopefully you won't have too much of a problem because this place is definitely worth trying out (even if you have to eat your sandwich standing up)!

When the temperatures heat up and you are looking for something to cool you down, look no further than denver's hutch and spoon. Their cucumber soda is reason enough to make a trip to this quaint spot, located on the boarder of the ballpark and rino neighborhoods. The cucumber soda that h+s stirs up, includes a house-made simple syrup from muddled and pureed fresh cucumbers, soda water and a spoonful of ice. The drink is effervescent from the bubbly soda and has a great crisp cucumber taste that goes down smooth. There are other rotating soda varieties available including peach spice, black currant, pineapple-ginger and mandarin-lavender (and I have tried them all) but none are as balanced in flavor as the cucumber. On a hot summer afternoon, this is the perfect drink to quench your thirst. I would suggest ordering the cucumber soda along with any of the tasty sandwiches or salads h+s have to offer.

Tiny little place over on Larimer (emphasis on tiny). Stopped in for a quick breakfast on Tuesday, and it was a nice quaint spot. Since I was doing takeout, I didn't get around to going further back than the counter, but there appears to be some sort of downstairs which hopefully has more seats. But let's talk about the food and drinks. They've got a nice breakfast and lunch menu with a wide variety of options. Beer and wine are available as well, plus coffee, tea, and hand-mixed sodas. Will definitely return!

I really like this quiet little cafe. Today I enjoyed some outdoor time as they have a few tables outside. I had an iced latte which was good and my favorite sandwich roasted red pepper, pesto, and mozzarella. It's toasted to perfection and comes with a little salad (dressed greens). Service is good and they use reusable everything cups napkins plates etc. Unless you take it to go. It is my second time here and I will surely be back!

I purchased the bacon, turkey, swiss sandwich on sourdough today for lunch. The sandwich was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of melty vs. crispy. It was also accompanied by about a five bite salad. I'll definitely head back to this spot again to try other things. However, I only gave 4 stars due to the price of the menu items. $8.50+tax is a bit high I think for a sandwich and small salad. But, like I said, I'll be back. Also, the decor is adorable and they have a nice patio area.

The B.L.T sandwich was super, specially the bacon on it. Breakfast burrito was ok but nothing special. Coffee was good. Not too crowded, and the music is on perfect volume. The homemade cookies on the counter looks delicious.

I'm a local (on Larimer) and go in all the time. It's like an old school local cafe. Very casual in approaching, welcoming and almost everything is made from scratch. Grab a coffee and/or a bite, sit and enjoy. It is that simple. Engage with the staff, they are interesting and thoughtful. If not the staff, a lot of the regulars are always in and full of interesting stories and laughs.

The breakfast burrito is unbelievable. The Chipotle potatoes with the cheddar and bacon make a flavor explosion I haven't experienced anywhere else. Spicy but not overwhelming, I will definitely be coming back for more.

We've been here twice and enjoyed both visits. The beet salad and soup were tasty but I forget what the other meal was. The ambience is my favorite part of the experience.; the fact that the food tastes good is just a plus.

I was having trouble finding something I could eat with my dietary restrictions and the gentleman behind the counter likely sensed it. He kindly asked, "Can I answer any questions for you? If you see ingredients on the board that we can mix into something else just let us know!" I shared with him I do not eat meat, dairy, or eggs and he recommended a red pepper and greens panini with red pepper oil drizzled over it. It was absolutely delicious! All of the staff were smiling, pleasant, and a joy to interact with. The patio and interior are quaint.

I stopped in here for a quick late lunch. I had the hummus plate and a mimosa. The bill was less than $12. It was just the perfect bite. They don't have wait service and they are very small. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. The mimosa was good.....but the 4 stars really go to the hummus. The hummus plate was served with large crostini, sliced cucumbers drizzled with tapenade, olives and feta. I made little cucumber, hummus, tapenade and feta sandwiches while I sipped my mimosa. So delicious. The hummus was so flavorful and garlicky, yet light. I loved it. It's a small place - everything is homemade. It's cute and the people are friendly.

All I got was a simple egg and sausage breakfast sandwich and I was blown away. The multigrain bread was one of my favorites I've had in a while and there was nothing bland about the standard breakfast sandwich. Lots of lunch options on the menu that I'll definitely be back for.

Love local businesses, and friendly staff This place is adorable, the menu is pretty substantial without being overwhelming and having multiple items i'm interested in eating and trying. I've had a breakfast burrito - and was surprised at the price - nearly $7 for something they put in the microwave... made me sad. But their lunch - mmmm! I went with the Reuben, buffalo Reuben - now where are you going to find that on a menu? It was tasty, very lean, not chewy! Not a ton of seating, but enough that we found a table at 12:30 on a winter friday! I intend to work my way thru the rest of the menu, including the meatball and the italian! I did try and italian soda which was very tasty, but i think it contained fake sugar, which as i age, sends my stomach into nasty heartburn land... So i wont be trying any of the other flavors! Cheers, and i'll meet you there for lunch soon!

We had great paninis with the most wonderfully pressed bread. Very rich - not for the faint of heart - but 100% satisfying. Good coffee, too. Service was very friendly.

This cute little place is definitely one of my new favorites. The staff is very nice and friendly and make you feel welcomed. All of their sandwiches are really great, my favorite is the chicken pesto, I could eat it every day! Their homemade sodas are also out of this world. It is definitely worth checking out.

We were in the area for the Carnage on Larimer car show and stopped in here for a quick lunch. I loved the atmosphere, the food choices were *amazing* and the staff uber-friendly!! My husband had a super moist meatloaf sandwich and I had the roasted red pepper and mozzarella that was mouth-watering. Both came with a small salad on the side with an amazing vinegarette dressing. I love when we stumble upon a small, local place as charming as the Hutch & Spoon. I wish I had a place like this near our home, it would be a very frequent stop for us.

Excellent coffee (probably my favorite ever!), reasonable prices, friendly and attentive staff. If I lived here I could see myself going here often! I also had the veggie burrito which was the size of my head and so delicious.

Cute little place for lunch with the co-worker peeps! Really enjoyed their hot sandwiches and their soup is pretty good too. Check it out! Wasn't all that impressed with the coffee - maybe it was an off day?

Don't come here for the coffee but DO come here for millions of other reasons including the following.... - A HUGE list of house made sodas. Pineapple Ginger?! Vanilla Passionfruit?! HEAVEN. - Burritos the size of my head. I'm not exaggerating. - Lavender Lemonade. - Salad toppings I can feel good about -- goat cheese, roasted beets, candied pecans - Cute (but tiny) set up. Think cozy like your Grandma's living room but cool enough to bring even your pickiest of friends. Side Note: They have house made coffee syrups - lavender combo, ginger combo, etc. (I think they may rotate). I got the ginger syrup in my Chai --- sounds heavenly yes? It wasn't :( Maybe I just got a bad batch but the taste was out of my league, and that's coming from a Ginger pheen.

Hutch and Spoon has a big menu for a small place. The sandwich I had was VERY fresh. It seems like the ingredients there are homemade/freshmade or at least recently-made somewhere in town. I also tried a double chocolate cookie: tasty. Free refills on my fresh made iced tea were nice. There are only 8-10 indoor seats at H&S, so plan accordingly - I'm sure the takeout is just as good though. They take credit cards and the service is friendly. Give this local business a try!
