Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I had the pesto pizza and it guaranteed I will be back. I wasn't a huge fan of their regular pizza, but my husband preferred it over the pesto so, as with any palette, it will determine your experience. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to giving 5 stars, so my 4 star review really has nothing to with the restaurant itself. If I had to pick one thing, it would be that this is a chain restaurant. The manager even stopped by our table and chatted for a bit, sending us home with a free cheesecake. We will be back, especially as the wait time here on a Friday was non existent. Probably not something that will last long, but good enough for now!

out alone , great bar.. food was tasty ,nice since, I just hand to grab a bite late.

The pizza was brick oven style with sauce on top. It was tasty,, but a little on the pricey side when you add toppings. The house salad was excellent, as was the Mediterranean. The atmosphere was fun and kid friendly, as they give dough to the kids to play with while they wait for their food.

This is an OK pizza experience. The atmosphere is very welcoming, open and clean. We had a large party and ordered 3 so I can attest to this. The crust was very nice, however the sauce was missing something. The ingredients were good, seemed fresh. The pieces were cut large, like NY style but unlike NY pizza, the ingredients fell off the crust rather routinely. Very oily. The Caprese salad was tasty. Service was good, however I seemed to offend one of the hostesses when I made a joke about her not knowing what good pizza tasted like because she was from the west coast. For the rest of the time there and upon leaving I couldn't help but feel an angry glare and we joked she probably spit in the pizza. The servers themselves seemed very committed to the product and management wasn't shy about asking us how things were. But the pizza was just OK. I know I'm a snob from Chicago, I'm sorry but I would rate Papa Murphy's take home and Old Chicago thin crust more tasty. I'm not sure I would go back, especially to get the glare from the angry west coast red head. lol.

We eat here in Arizona, Vegas, and Texas, and were excited when we saw the 16th Street Mall location was opening in Denver. We went a few times when it first opened, but the manager Marla was aloof and actually kept us from going back. We had a great server the first time named Spencer, and we made sure to ask for him when we went back. We had another server name Mike once, but he was slow and acted as though he did not know what he was doing - no idea about the menu, the wines, etc. Sorry to say that Marla kept us from going back - hard to enjoy your meal when you see the manager chewing the servers out and showing her ugly side. We went back about a week ago and learned Marla is no longer with the company. We asked for our favorite server, Spencer, and he quit right before Marla was let go. (Nice of the staff to gossip and provide all the details to us, well, not really). The food was still as delicious, fresh, and high quality as before, and we were able to enjoy our food, do a little people watching, and leave with enough pizza for a late night snack. Spencer was greatly missed, as their waiters are still suffering with the menu and wine list. We will stick to enjoying Bubba Gump's or eat at the Denver Aquarium when we are downtown.

Best pizza ever! Seriously! My family & I have eaten our fair share of pizza over the years. But nothing compares to Grimaldi's. The thin crust is perfectly crispy, and the cheese and toppings are always cooked to perfection. I recommend Grimaldi's to anyone that's in the mood for extraordinary pizza! Two thumbs up!!!
(5)Wendy B.
I'd never heard of this place, but I like pizza and am always willing to try something new. The pizza was very good, not "out of this world" or "best ever", but still delicious and fun. The thin crust and flavorful sauces make for a delicious, but not inexpensive meal. I wish I'd checked out the reviews before I went and shared a small pizza because it really is enough for two people!!! Our party of three had the pesto (w/ spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke) (w/ sliced tomatoes and basil) and the white (w/ chicken, sliced tomatoes, and jalapeno) and we all took a pizza box home. For two small pizzas, one persona pizza, and a hot tea the bill was $75 -- more than it was worth, but not horrific. Great service and no wait time on my Sunday afternoon visit.
(4)David P.
went back to Grimaldi's only because of closeness and boss wanted pizza. service was a little quicker but food still took 35 minutes after waiting 8 minutes for server to initially come to table ordered small spinach salad which had more bacon than the visit before but far less gargazola cheese. had two slices of pizza which qas just ok... thin crust was very good ... Sean the manager on duty was actually talking to the tables and being proactive and trying to head off complaints due to the wait times... kudos to him!
(3)Sharon R.
Amazing pie!!! I love their sauce. They should charge a different amount for the toppings based on the size of pie you order. The management is super friendly and really care about the level of service their servers provide. Great job!
(4)Adriana C.
If the Big Man upstairs lets me into heaven, I am telling him no unless Grimaldi's pizza rains down on me for every meal. Oh no I am in trouble. I love and absolutely loathe my co-worker for showing me this place. She ignored my protests about eating only healthy meals until my Vegas trip later this month and insisted on getting me a calzone from here. I told her I would have one bite. One. Five minutes later marinara sauce was smeared all over my face from eating it so fast. Well, slightly exaggerating about that but holy moly this was good pizza, I dare to say it's the best I ever had! I could NOT stop eating it! We split a "small" calzone that was enough to feed three girls, with melty creamy ricotta cheese, perfectly seasoned sausage, and crunchy bell peppers. They say its a size small, but I honestly think they take a large thin crust pizza and fold it over, that is how big it was! The complimentary marinara sauce was served hot and was the perfect dip for this treat. Grimaldi's is located about 1/2 mile from my office which is dangerous for me. If I was going to ruin my healthy-eating kick, I couldn't imagine a better way to do it. And hey, I just noticed they have a location in Vegas, which is what I'm behaving myself for.. how convenient....

Having been to the original Grimaldi's, I had no idea that this place became a chain. So imagine my surprise when I move to Denver, and it's right across the street from where I live. If you sign up on their website, you get a coupon for five dollars off a dine-in meal within two weeks of signing up. Bring that in on half price wine Tuesday's (no joke, every single wine except the house wine is 50% off during the summer!!), and you've got yourself a relatively inexpensive high-quality meal. I've only had the signature pizza. The small is more than enough for two people. I think it works well for three women or two guys. extra toppings can be a bit pricey, but if you want to go for it, it only makes the pizza better. Service was great, no complaints there. Given that we went on a Tuesday night, there was no wait. I have ordered takeout before, and it's very easy to grab it from the bar. They offer plates, utensils, crushed Pepper, etc to go. That's a nice touch because many pizza places don't often do that. I can't really comment on parking, but you'll likely have to pay given that it's on the 16th St. mall. Overall a great place for the entire family. There is some outdoor seating. The bar works both for indoor and outdoor, and has a couple of TVs.
(4)Josh d.
I've never been to the original location. So, there's that. The service was fine - I don't have anything to complain about there, nor can I really complain about the environment. I liked all the pictures of cabs, and scenic, tourist destinations... It reminds me of the places I stayed away from when I lived there. I'm upset about the pie I got. It crust was crisp, and bland. They use quality toppings, but their vessel is total shit. I think it has to do with using the same recipe as the original location would have? Without the low humidity that Denver has, vs New York, you don't get that nice, fluffy moist crust that makes NY pizza what it is... It ruins it. Add that to the fact that they used waaay too much sauce on my pie, I was quite disappointed.

Came to Grimaldi's for a birthday party last weekend. I haven't been downtown for a meal in quite a while, as well, I have never heard of the place. For starters, let me warn you, they do not serve hard alcohol, they only serve beer and wine. *note to self* When you come for a large party, be prepared to wait. From the moment I walked in at 7p to the moment I left, it was 2.5 hours and 2 of those hours were waiting on food. I COMPLETELY understand it takes awhile to individually take and bring out separate orders but they should have offered breads ticks or appetizers to hold us over. We brought this to the managers attention, in a very pleasant way and he let us know they were short staffed. Just to give you an idea, it was one server to 30 people, no exaggeration. As far as the food goes, it was pretty damn good! I wish my pizza was cooked a little bit longer, but overall I really did like it. The pizzas are huge, I had a small and it was like the size of a large. I can complain about that. I really wish I could remember the servers name that helped us out (Saturday, 6/7 from 7-10p), she worked so hard to make us happy and to make sure we were taken care of, she just had too much going on, it was a lot of work for her, but again she busted her @$$. No complaints on her end. All in all, I really want to try it again so I can update my review, cause I know they can do better than a two star experience. Hopefully I can make it back soon.
(2)J R.
If you know the reputation, you don't need to read the reviews. It's the best pizza in NYC and by far the best in Denver hands down.
(5)Evan K.
We decided to check this place out due to all the great reviews. We were seated extremely fast and ordered one large white pizza with roasted tomatoes, Italian sausage, and kalamata olives. We figured that since it was thin crust pizza the wait wouldn't be more than 30 minutes tops. After waiting for an hour we asked our waitress if our pizza was even in the oven. She runs back to the kitchen and we noticed she grabbed a stack of orders and started flipping through them. This stack was at least an inch thick. After finally finding our order admist that one inch stack.....she comes back to tell us that our pizza is not even in the oven and will be another 15 minutes. This is when we decided to leave. At this point they hadn't even put together our pizza even after an hour long wait. The issue with this place is the size of their kitchen. The people in the back were working their butts off making and putting together the pizza. Unfortunately the size of the restaurant is far too big for that one small wood fire oven. They were churning it out as fast as they could but a 75 minute wait for a thin crust pizza is a joke. We went across the street and ate at earls. Got the dynamite roll, nachos and crispy ribs.....came out in 15 minutes and was delicious.

We were in Denver area for a vacation. Came across this restaurant at Denver Pavilions. As we entered the hostess offered couple of pieces of dough for my kids as they would have to wait for the pizza. What a GREAT idea!! Since everything is prepared after you place the order, the dough kept the kids entertained - thank you! The coal brick oven is in plain view of the customers, we were to watch the crew make the pizza. My wife ordered a caparese** salad. I'm not a tomato guy but she seemed to enjoyed it. Pizzas were DELICIOUS. The server (Thalia) was very helpful; she explained the menu and the ordering process in details. Great experience!!
(5)Gregg B.
Excellent pizza at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere, very attentive wait and bar staff. Excellent selections of beer and wine. We will make sure to visit when in Downtown Denver.
(5)Sharee A.
We always try pizza when we travel. And this one had coal burning oven = thin crust !! Well that is where it for bad....you start with sauce and cheese only and then you have to pay for every topic between $2-$5 per choice. Also for me I do not do cheese so I asked to swap it out and it took me asking 2 managers to get another topping. Ultimately the pizza was good - the sauce was great. The service is slow - more bc of cooking method.
(3)Amanda S.
The pizza was good. When it finally came out. It took over an 1 1/2 to come out. After it finally arrived, it was tasty. Although, I'm not really sure if it was worth the wait.
(3)Monica J.
Sooooo being from Chicago, it's difficult for pizza from another state to impress me... This pizza was amazing !! Perfectly thin crispy crust and real fresh ingredients. Make sure to ask for the garlic powder and oregano too.
(5)Lucky G.
This spot is bomb af! Had the Xmas pizza ( marinara and pesto sauce) w/ chicken sausage and pepperoni. Order the anchovies on the side and add them to your pizza, so good!! Lastly, try a glass of the prosecco it's divine and will get you buzzed. The staff was so freaking friendly and knowledgeable. I had a great dining experience, can't wait to visit the Cali location
(5)Mona E.
Not as good as the original BUT I'll take it! Can't be too picky about NY style pizza in Denver :) We liked the décor and it's a good sized restaurant, just wished they delivered! I would skip the caprese salad - the tomatoes were bland and more pink than red and they just bring olive oil and balsamic vinegar for you to put on there. Nothing special. The small pizza was huge and was too much for two (although we ate it all and now I am expanding as I sit on the couch writing this review). We got spinach, sausage and ricotta cheese. The pizza needed more salt but was good and had that crispy slightly burnt delicious crust!
(4)Lisa K.
I have very mixed emotions about the fact that there are Grimaldi's all over the country. But, the greedy pizza demon in me is happy there is one in Denver. It is always a little sad to see an institution, such as Grimaldi's, turn into a chain restaurant. But, that said, there is finally really good NY style pizza in Denver. Keep in mind this experience will never be the same as the one in Brooklyn. The atmosphere and ambiance can not be replicated. The lines are not as long and the dining room not nearly as cramped and crowded... all part of the total experience. However, I am happy to say the pizza is seemingly exactly the same. It is the perfect thin crust. Both chewy and crispy at the same time. The ratio of sauce, cheese and toppings is just right. And when they deliver that hot, fresh baked pie to your table for a few brief moments you think you are in Brooklyn. PS - Sign up for their VIP club online and you will get a coupon for a free pizza on your birthday... I enjoyed mine this past weekend.
(4)Christine K.
Fantastic pizza! Highly recommend adding ricotta to whatever other toppings you love. Tuesdays are half priced wine. Fabulous.

We stopped in on Friday on a visit to Denver. It was 3 in the afternoon and the place was pretty empty. We noticed that the place was chilly but were hoping it was just us...it was 2 degrees outside! The service was good but the prices were quite high for small hand tossed pizzas. The menu was very limited and we ended up spending $60 on a small pizza, a small calzone and 3 beers. We noticed that the restaurant was not getting any warmer. We asked our server if we should move to a different part of the restaurant and he told us that their heater was broken. WHAT?!? It was 2 degrees outside and snowing. I really feel like they should tell you that before they seat you. Our plates were so cold that our pizza got cold and hard as soon as you placed it on them. Upside? Our beers stayed frosty. We couldn't get out of there fast enough so we could defrost in our hotel. The food itself was yummy but the freezing experience really wasn't worth it.
(3)Daniela B.
It will never be as good as the original Under the Brooklyn bridge but the pizza was good and the staff friendly. I had been wanting to try after recalling memories over 15 yrs ago of going often to the original and walking the bridge back to Manhattan after pizza for a nice stroll back home. We went before going to the movies and had a large pizza and some Peroni's The pizza crust was not too thick but not as cooked as I like, and the sauce fresh and light. We ordered a whole bunch of topics from pepperoni to veggies and ate the whole thing between the two of us. It doesn't have as much ambiance but I hope with time the place will get busier
(3)Holly H.
I like this place. They have a knowledgeable and friendly staff. I would recommend this place and come back.
(5)Jennifer L.
First time in this pizzeria... Well, first time in Denver, CO. We came in drawn by the good ratings and reviews in yelp. The restaurant is delicate and unique decorated. The ambiance is cozy and make you feel very comfortable. We ordered pizza which we enjoyed very much. We loved the crispness crust and the sauce was very tasty. Just to pay $2-4 per topping was a little out the norm. The wait staff was very friendly, professional and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely come back for the gorgeous and delicious looking salads we saw on other tables.
(4)Eileen F.
Awful. Bad service, bland, expensive pizza. Only upside is that they serve alcohol. It's convenient, but so is burger king.
(1)Rad D.
First off let me say that I've been to the original Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn bridge so I'm partially biased because I had the most amazing experience and food at that one...I will remember it for the rest of my life. Seriously! So when I heard they had opened one here in Denver I could not wait to go! I had every intention of giving this place 5 stars going in because of my experience in Brooklyn. Well, I guess all locations won't be the same. When we were seated it took 12 mins before our server even showed up and over 20 mins before we even got water. We ordered a Caesar salad they forgot about and brought after our pizza already arrived...not good. The salad itself was good though. The pizza...was not the same. It was very bland. I was so excited to take my wife and daughter here and they were underwhelmed. Isn't this what happens when something that is made with love in a small place becomes a mass produced product or chain. The quality is diluted... Our server was very polite.
(3)Betsy C.
It was good. I've eaten at Juliana's under the Brooklyn bridge but I won't compare the two as that would be unfair. There weren't many people there on a Friday around 4pm. I got Pesto, husband got white with sausage and bacon. We also ordered antipasto salad. It was a very small portion. However, the personal pizza size is quite large. The ambiance and vibe was just okay. Maybe it gets fun in the evening?
(4)Don P.
Crust is tasteless, sauce is so so... being from NY, this is NOT EVEN CLOSE to the original one in Brooklyn.. Well, that's what happens when you franchise! Two stars is for the fresh mozzarella, and the friendly staff. Otherwise, we will NOT be back to this "NY" pizzeria..
(2)Christina T.
It smelled great coming in and it definitely delivered. We customized our pizzas, which was a great idea.
(5)Shaun S.
It's time to be brutally honest. Does Grimaldi's use quality ingredients? Yes Does the pizza taste good? Yes Did I eat great pizza at Grimaldi's? No, but it was OK. I am sure that the pizza in NY is great, but it is not in Denver. The problem that all pizza places in Denver try to overcome is how to make great dough/crust in low humidity and in fluctuating low humidity. From the first piece that I grabbed from the pie, to every other one that I served myself or Kate K, the pizza remained firmly held in its shape. I mean, there was no bend to the crust. Good dough/crust and good pizza slices bend, flop, etc. Most times, pizza needs to cool, or you may need a fork and knife to eat the first third before picking it up OR it needs to be folded to get the proper torsional rigidity to pick it up without having the sauce and cheese slide off. Here, it does not fold or bend. The crust does not rise at the end. One of the first things that you learn as a child in the Northeast is how to hold the pizza box level when you pick it up to take home with your parents. When it is not level, the sauce and cheese will slide to the low side and the crust will fold in on itself, and you will have unhappy parents. You can hold Grimaldi's at more than a 45 degree angle and nothing will happen. I would go back because I like pizza, but I would not make a special trip. It is better than most in Denver, but to me, it is not 5 star and it is not 4 star.
(3)Jacqueline E.
Loved the crisp crust. The salad was right up there with the quality pizza. We will definitely be back. High recommend this place if you are pizza foodies. They keep it simple with only pizza & salad.
(5)ALANA H.
The food and service exceeded my expectations. We had pizza with a side of Mediterranean salad. Yummy! We are visiting from California and were shown great hospitality.
(4)Gwen R.
I love their pizzas with the thin crust. You will be pleased with anything you order. This visit I ordered the white pizza with tomatoes and mushrooms ooooh so good. The personal pizza was big enough to split with my friend. Same with the small Caesar salad - very good! Best service at this location. Awesome waiter and staff! I've eaten at the Scottsdale location and that has an awesome outside patio with hanging lights - very quant. This Denver location sits off 16th st mall. Great location and a large restaurant
(5)Jenna E.
Awesome service, great food. It's not fancy and doesn't have all the bells and whistles (ie don't ask for Ranch with your pizza- they don't have it! lol) but it's just good, honest pizza. We had pepperoni & artichoke which was amazeballs (although the toppings were a bit expensive as weird as that is to say). The Mediterranean salad was delish as well- exactly what we wanted on a FRIGID Denver day. The portions are gigantic (plenty to share with probably 3 people for the small salad & pizza) and the pizza was cooked to perfection with that great wood-fired taste and a delicious rustic tomato sauce. Nom nom nom. The space itself is cool, familial, and authentic feeling with the red and white table cloths, open kitchen, and brick walls. The patio looked like a good place to people watch in the 16th Street mall if the temperature wasn't in the single digits. I'd definitely go back here when/if I'm in the area again.
(5)Carrie K.
Holy bad service. It took 13 minutes for someone to take our drink/food order and it wasn't busy. Yes, we timed it. At this point I was longingly looking out the window at other restaurant options nearby. They came by just before our final countdown to walk out. Caprese salad came quick and pizza took about 25 minutes. Salad was ok, fresh basil was good but tomatoes were mediocre. Pizza was good but a little burnt. At this point though I probably would have clubbed a baby seal & eaten it raw though. Inside restaurant temp was in the low 60's. Everyone inside had their coats & hats on. Service was so bad that I only tipped 10%, and that is not because I thought it deserved a tip but because I feel sorry for people who make server wages. I'm giving it 1 star for just being open & the 2nd star for looking clean. Wow. No bueno.
(2)Natalie C.
We had been waiting at least 30 mins for our pizza when the manager comes and says there was a mistake in our order and that they had just put in a new pie in the oven. He was very kind and offered to give us something on the house. We chose the Cesar salad and it was perfect. Another while longer and our pizza was brought out. The crust is completely tasteless, I couldn't eat it. The toppings were a let down. The pepperoni was the miniature kind which tasted fine but as a pepperoni lover I prefer the larger size. We ordered green peppers as well and each slice had about 3 small specks of green and the sauce was watery and bland. I really wanted to like this place but unless they change their recipe and add more flavor I'm not coming back. The customer service was excellent though, no complaints there.
(3)Cirilia G.
It was just okay, nothing special. We asked to sit outside since it was empty and the inside was full and we had kids but our request was denied. The hostess offered to bring kid's dough for our little ones to play with while we waited but never brought any even though it completely died while we were waiting. Our pizza was burnt and just average. It was overpriced for being so lackluster. The service wasn't great but wasn't terrible either. While here we witnessed several questionable practices such as a waiter touching the plate he was setting with his thumbs all over the top(serve fromthe bottom man! ) and not cleaning the tables just clearing the dishes and spot checking for crumbs and debris. The bathroom was dirty and they were out of paper towels. We definitely will not be returning. There are definitely better options in the area.
(2)Vinh N.
Delicious pizza but high prices if you want your own pizza. The reason being that the toppings are the same price ($2-4) no matter the size of your pizza and there are no preset options. Ordered a white pizza (garlic included) with tomatoes and basil. The stuff margheritas are made of. The crust was thin and it didn't taste like a classic neopolitan margarita but I enjoyed it. Place was quiet on a Monday. I noticed that they offer half off wine on Tuesday.
(4)Valerie G.
We went on a Friday night, so it was crowded and there was a bit of a wait. Not a problem. The hostess seemed confused and flustered, so we skipped the dining room and found seats at the bar. We ordered our beers quickly, but then it took FOREVER to flag down the bartender to order our pizza. Once we finally did, it took another 30 minutes for it to make it to our table. And when it arrived: cardboard. Worst. Crust. Ever. And burnt. And stingy on the toppings, which is a shame, because only a heaping serving of cheese and sauce could have saved this flavorless thing. And expensive. Just an all-around pizza fail. I'm only giving two stars because the beer was cold and the wait staff, though flustered, was nice enough.
(2)Kevin J.
The restaurant was not at all crowded after dinner service so we had our pick of the tables. We had a great meal here in the outdoor seating area. I don't usually do chains so I didn't know how I would like it, but their pizza blew away my best expectations. The service was phenomenal. Our waiter even gave us anecdotes about the area in which we were traveling.
(5)Alexandria V.
Really fresh ingredients are used when this food is made. You can tell. We ordered a small (16 inch) pizza and a spinach salad. It was so tasty and fresh. I went back one more time before I had to leave town. I will miss you pizza!
(5)Renee C.
This was one of the first restaurants I visited when I moved to Denver. It has amazing pizza and salads! Their sangrias are AMAZING! Over all its a cute restaurant to stop by If you are in the area, the service has been awesome the two times I have been there. Definitely going to keep coming back , the only thing that sucks is the parking situation since it is in the middle of downtown and inside the 16th street mall.
(5)Jarrett C.
Best New York style thin crust available in Colorado. My brother and I visited the original Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn bridge in the summer of 2014 and loved it! When we learned there was one in Denver it was a no brainer. We had the perfect excuse to go because we were seeing Jim Jeffries stand up at the Paramount around the corner. My brother and I grew up outside of Chicago which makes us both official pizza connoisseurs and know good pizza. The margarita was incredible! Can't wait to go back. AND bottles of wine were half priced while we were there, bonus!
(4)Allie S.
First visit to a Grimaldi's pizzeria. Have to say this was by far the best pizza I have eaten so far in my short time in Denver. Ordered the personal white pizza with garlic and it was delicious. It was thin crust NY style pizza that was crunchy and fresh. I normally don't eat the thin crust edges but even the edges were perfectly edible! The personal pizza is enough for two people so don't order too much especially if you want to leave room for dessert (mistake I won't make again!). Servers were super nice and management was also nearby checking on customer satisfaction. Loved the place AND the pizza. Will definitely be returning!
(5)Craig L.
I ate here in a party of two for lunch during a weekday. The service was great through the whole experience. There was a slight error with my order but the staff definitely went above and beyond to make it right. The pizza was good! I would recommend it over some of the other pizza places downtown.
(4)Jason M.
The food here is really good but don't expect speed in the process as they pizza takes time to bake. Other than that, the staff is friendly and everything seems reasonably priced for that style of restaurant. It's not too fancy and I'd definitely go again.
(4)Kim P.
Delicious pizza! Took a while to get our food on a Sunday night, but worth the wait. Loved the atmosphere/decor. Will definitely return.
(4)Stewart L.
If you come down to this Italian restaurant, prepare to have a big appetite, the portions are HUGE!! A small calzone is big enough to feed two people or one person with a hearty appetite , the only problem I have is more of a selection on the menu would be great other than that I highly recommend this place, this place has television so you can watch the games if you like, also a full-size bar, dining outside is also an option if you like to hit the patio

I am very sad to write this review. I have been going to Grimaldies for the past 13 years. I started going when I lived in Arizona. We would go at least once a week and I never sent a pie back. I was very excited when I heard Grimaldies was opening up its first location in Colorado. When they first opened, food was just like I remembered it, service was great. They had brought staff over from Las Vegas when they first opened and they did an excellent job. My last three visits have been bad. The pizza was burnt, no basil in the middle and service at the bar extremely slow. I had to send my pizza back yet again last night. I understand mistakes happen, but the quality of the pizza has gone way down. ( less sauce, burnt, less cheese, pie is just dry) I have to drive about 20 miles to go to this location and pay $10.00 for one hour parking, since grimaldies does not validate. Because, we had to send the pizza back to remake. And, wait I got a $75.00 parking ticket. While we waited for our pizza our server changed and asked us to cash out with her before she left. Which we did. The next bartender never asked me if I even wanted a water while I was sitting there. I had already had 2 glasses of wine, and didn't want anymore because I needed to drive home. My friend ordered another beer and we needed to pay for it, and my friend gave me her credit card. The bartender never came back, by the time my friend came back from the bathroom, we were standing waiting. Finally, I just slapped $4 down, handed my friend her card back and we left. I am writing this, because I hope things will change over there or they might not survive with the quality and service that has drastically changed. It's very sad, but I will not be going back to this location ever again.

Oh Denver, you are so lucky. I've been to the original Grimaldi's underneath the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC, and it has always been the best pizza I've ever had. Since then, I have compared all other pizzas to Grimaldi's. When I heard Grimaldi's was opening a location in Denver, I was skeptical about it tasting as good as the pies at the original location. I am happy to report that not only was the pizza just as good, I actually thought it was a little bit better than the pizza at Grimaldi's new Brooklyn location, which is right next door to its original location under the Brooklyn Bridge. The sauce, the pepperoni, and the fresh mozzarella were all just as heavenly as they were in the Big Apple. The location and decor of the Denver location doesn't quite offer the same grungy NYC feel that I believe should be a part of any good pizza joint, but they got the most important thing right, which is the incredible pizza. Come on in and enjoy some authentic NY style thin-crust pizza. You'll be glad you did! P.S. I highly recommend a large pepperoni, mozzarella, basil (plus extra fresh basil on the side), and the red sauce. This is a combination with which you can't go wrong (I uploaded some pics of this pizza in the picture section of Yelp's site). Also, please don't eat your pizza like a New York City tourist: fold it up, and eat it Brooklyn style!

Oh My, how lucky Denver is to now have Grimaldis! I have been going to the restaurants in Arizona, and was truly hoping we would get one here!!!!! The pizza is absolutely delicious. Perfectly wood fired crust, perfect sauce, freshest cheese, delightful selection of toppings. My absolute FAVORITE was the ricotta arugula (which was a special) and all of their ingredients are super fresh, and properly balanced and combined. The wine bottle light fixtures, red and white checkered table cloths, are the absolute perfect decorative touches. The music sets the perfect mood, and the setting is just fabulous. I can't wait to try the patio - even though it opens to the internal side of the Pavillions. Although it will be fairly "view-less" it will be great people watching. The menu is comprehensive with pizza and salads, and everything is delicious. I don't know what they did for their soft opening, but they must have nailed it! Everything was seamless, and the place has been open for a little over a week. Words of advice - we ordered a small to split, and it was far bigger than expected! That is GREAT news, and rarely the case! The salad was also ample, fresh, and delicious. Our service was absolutely perfect, and the manager stopped by for a proper greeting and check in. Why the 4 stars, you ask? Well, the first reason is I want to give it a 4.5 but don't know how to. Why the 4.5 you ask? I was hoping for a pizza and salad (and maybe a drink) combination offering, and I am hoping for a happy hour! This is seriously a great location, and will quickly become a destination pizza spot. In fact, I actually said it may shut down some other pizza-eries, and this will likely be the first of a few Grimaldi's in Colorado.

Pretty good pizza but no ranch for a side:( the pizza is tasty but there are better places in town.
(4)Peggy B.
I probably won't be back. Went for lunch with a friend. We ordered two personal pizzas and the server warned us it would be 20-25 minutes for personal pizzas. That seemed totally appropriate for a sit-down pizza place, so we were cool with it. 50 minutes later our pizzas arrived. Not cool. Second, I had to flag down our server to get a refill on my drink (and I drink slow. I only usually need 1 refill if any). I don't think I'm asking much for 1 refill in over an hour. The pizza was good. Super pricey. Bad service. Long wait times. If pizza is basically the only thing on the menu, you should probably be pretty speedy at it, in my opinion. Also - just a heads up, no ranch or pineapple available. Like at all. I personally love pizza with ranch - so that sucked. A $20 personal pizza and I couldn't even have ranch with it? No thank you.
(2)Luke A.
We like eating at the bar which is half inside, half outside. Both times we have been here has been positive. Everyone friendly and the quality of the food is good.
(4)Richard C.
So so. That's it. Nothing special. Best was the base. Worst was the $2 for one basil leaf chopped up over our pizza. Plus, we advised them about a discount that had been advertised on TV (mention the Colorado Company) and expected to get it however they didn't tell us until we got the check that it was only between 5 & 6 pm. No, we won't be back.
(1)Andrea D.
Amazing pizza, came here twice when I was in town and both times were they delivered both on service and food!
(5)Justin L.
Thin crust pizza that was served warm (not hot) and didn't impress. We split a Ceasar salad that had large slices of Parmesan which was a nice touch and that was the best part. The waitress seemed a little anxious to turn tables and rush us along. It was just ok and I'm not very likely to go back with all of the other great restaurants around to choose from.
(3)Maria B.
Good pizza! NY style. My personal pie was in the oven just a tad too long. It's an art that takes time to perfect. Glad to see Grimaldi's in Denver!
(4)Connor G.
Not as good as the one in Brooklyn but still a really good pizza. I suggest the Caprese salad and a large basil and pepperoni pizza with the Christmas sauce (pesto and red).
(4)Ed R.
Love their food wait staff was stressed and under staffed , although they were pleasant there's an underlying tone of disarray. Will be back but something is missing from this Grimaldis. I hope they figure it out .
(2)Shaun S.
Loved the Coal Fire Pizza Crust. Was in town on business and looking for something different. Had the red sauce with Pepperoni, Bacon, Onion. Mozzarella was fresh, the sauce was real good as well. There was no pie left. Waiter did not tell me but the sides are good for two people. You have to try this place..
(4)Evelyn K.
Had lunch here today, and our pizza was absolutely delicious! Had the special white pizza with arugula and prosciutto. Highly recommend everyone to try this one!!! It's truly worth it.
(5)Brad F.
Great pizza and great service. Four of us ordered two large pizzas - a mushroom and an Italian sausage. Both were really tasty and I loved the thin New York style thin crust. Their sauce and cheese are high quality too. They use coal fired ovens. The decor is also really cool and our server, Savannah, was excellent. She was efficient, attentive and polite. I highly recommend this place and plan on going back while in Downtown Denver. Of course, they have lots of locations in Las Vegas and are originally from Brooklyn I believe. I'm from San Francisco where there is a dearth of good pizza places, unfortunately. I guess Little Star is good but they're deep dish which I like on occasion but prefer thin crust where u can fold your pizza and eat it. Plus I don't want all the bread. I'm about sauce and cheese.
(4)Dale P.
Domino's Pizza is better than this place! this place skimps on their meat. And the crust is like cardboard.
(1)Steven R.
This was really good. Fast service, friendly folks, great pizza. It's a thin crust custom pizza and everything is family style. We had a small thin crust with jalapenos, meatballs and chicken sausage. The small size was definitely enough for two hungry guys. Great bar as well with a good beer/wine selection.
(5)Aileen D.
GP is now one of my favorite places for pizza: near work, great service and atmosphere, and the perfect balance of crispy/chewy that I like. The price keeps it from being 5-star worthy. It's a deal when you have a group of people but otherwise, a $10+ lunch is a wee bit high. We had the April specialty pizza of potato and rosemary and added Italian sausage - outstanding. They even brought out a sample of their red sauce to try. This place makes me want to revisit the original Brooklyn location again but a visit here is certainly cheaper.
(4)Jeanette C.
1st time here today. Visiting from Austin, Tx. Excellent service. Pizza was delicious. We got the large spinach salad and large regular sauce pizza with meatballs. Split it between 4 of us. My husband & in laws. We also topped it all off with the dessert trio. You get to choose 3 smaller portions. Cheesecake was so good and we tried the delicious seasonal one: caramel coconut w Samoa crust. Loved the ambiance that they had and enjoyed watching the pizza being tossed and prepared. Definitely want to come back while we are here in Denver.
(5)Nick M.
The pizza was alright, and the wait staff was great. My only qualm with this place is that they claim to have an 18 inch pizza, but it was more like a standard 14 inch pizza, which is the same a large from dominos. So we expected more by the menu claims. On the plus side though their pepperoni was delicious.
(3)Michelle S.
When I lived in NY I waited in line at the Brooklyn location and the pizza did not disappoint. I didn't want to get my hopes up for the Denver location but it turns out the pizza here is really good. With our folks visiting from back East, my sister suggested we try take-out from here. There was a bit of a snafu as the order had been called in earlier and had gotten misplaced. The manager went above and beyond to compensate and to ensure we received our pizzas quickly. The pizza was coal-fired, thin and crispy, with fresh mozzarella, just the way I love it. Everyone in the family gave it the thumbs up. Had I not been so busy devouring it, I would have taken a photo. Grimaldi's, I love you like a brother, from another mother.
(5)Jennifer S.
The pizza was amazing. My kids loved it and the restaurant was super kid friendly. The staff were extremely nice and attentive. But the pizza was on a whole other level. Yum!
(5)Brett F.
I'll start by saying the pizza was decent. I had a small-sized pepperoni, jalapeño, and garlic regular sauce pizza with my friend. The problem was we had to wait 15 minutes to order and then almost 30 minutes for it to arrive. My friend also ordered two glasses of wine that took over 15 minutes to arrive each time. Our server claimed they were slammed and the bar was backed up. I looked at every table in the restaurant (there weren't many and plenty were open), and did not see very many alcoholic drinks being imbibed. Where was all of the business the bar was experiencing coming from? I doubt I'll come back unless someone really wants to go. I give it a strong, "meh."

I am a Grimaldi's Super Fan, having eaten at the Grimaldi's SanTan Village in Gilbert, AZ for years before moving to Denver. Moving here I learned that mile high cooking, regardless of method, yields soggy pizza crust unless you ask for the pie to be charred. So sad, no good pizza even remotely close to Grimaldi's in Denver. UNTIL THIS WEEK!!!!! Grimaldi's Denver opened on Monday March 24, 2014 at the 16th Street Mall Denver Pavilions location. I walked in yesterday at lunch and asked to see Marla Gold, the General Manager. Before she arrived I looked around at the new restaurant. Wow. A+. Great job on the space. Marla showed up and I told her that I knew Grimaldi's pretty well and that I had high expectations. Of course, she knew our Grimaldi's friends in Phoenix. She promised I would enjoy the pizza. I ordered my standard pepperoni. Asked for it to be crispy. Then I sat back and nervously waited for my pie. It arrived. Marla appeared and served me my first slice... of HEAVEN. PIZZA ARRIVES IN DENVER!!!!! Ya-HOO!!!!! The service was fantastic, the people are nice, the wine list is awesome, and this place is a real restaurant, not a dash in dash out place. And the food, it is 100% Grimaldi's HIGH QUALITY. Please give them a try. And say hey if you see me at the bar!
(5)Noah S.
Went for dinner on a Monday night around 8pm. Restaurant was very quiet. Maybe 15 people total. We were greeted right away and seated in a booth by the bar. Our waiter was also the bartender, but we amazingly we did not experience a lack of service despite him having customers at the bar. Waiter was friendly and explained the menu and a quick background on the food. Ambiance is comfortable although quiet like the lobby of a hotel at 3am. Tablecloths and real utensils and glasses are a nice touch compared to most pizza joints. We ordered a house salad that was made with Romaine, mushrooms, olives, red onion and roasted red peppers along with a house dressing. Small size was a bit pricey at $6.00, but was enough to split. Some Feta would be a nice touch to the salad. They have 3 sizes of their NY thin style, coal oven, baked pizzas. 12, 16 and 18". We went with the 16" and it was perfect for 2 hungry people. We went with a plain cheese pie so we could see what it was all about. The pizza came out nice and hot with a crisp, but chewy crust and a fresh tomato sauce with generous "splotches" of mozzarella cheese. The crust was great, but overall the pizza was bland. We definitely used the fixins to doctor it up. If your in the downtown area or looking to try a new pizza place, it's worth giving Grimaldi's a try. Although the flavor was not as bold, the consistency of the crust was much better than the Anthony's/Fat Sully's/Cosmos gang of shops. Nobody except the movie theater validates parking, so plan on paying for street or underground parking at the pavilions.

This was some realy kick ass pizza. Staff was outstandingly friendly. Manager and server were genuinely friendly and caring.
(5)Candice W.
Ordered a White Pizza with garlic and sun dried tomatoes. So good! Portions are big. Great staff and great food. Definitely worth checking out!
(5)Emma M.
Great service and excellent food! Out seating outside was cramped, but not to the point of ruining the experience. My husband and I split a small pizza and a small salad. It was totally filling and we still had pizza left over.
(5)Desirée E.
Best white pizza I have ever had... And I'm from NY! Staff was awesome and so helpful to an out of state visitor. Will def be back on my next trip here!
(5)A S.
Decent reenactment of iconic NYC coal fired pizza=best in class for Denver. Sat at the bar and service was very good.
(5)Jessika K.
We had to wait for an outside table, even though we could see a couple empty, but it was worth the wait. The hostess drove me nuts with her fake attitude and I'm glad we stuck with our plan. The food and service was amazing! We started with caprese salad with extra cheese because my husband hates tomatoes. They brought out twice and much cheese for an extra $2! Worth it. And the fresh basil and tomatoes were great. My husband loved the cheese saying it had great flavor. We ordered a small pizza for dinner. The thing was huge. We both ate two slices and were very full. They did get our order wrong (the server admired it was his fault) by giving us red sauce instead of white garlic sauce. When we said something they insisted on making it right and boxed it up for us to take home. Before leaving, we shared a piece of that pizza and the garlic was amazing! Great pizza. Great price. Great location. Great service.
(5)Mark S.
I first had this in Las Vegas at the Palazzo and was very impressed. The new Denver location doesn't disappoint. The staff was very attentive, they give pizza dough for the kids to play with and I have never had a bad slice of pizza. It is a little expensive, as a small with 3 toppings can run as much as $28. The small is $16, but some toppings run $4 each. That said, it was worth every penny to me. The coal fired crust, fresh mozzarella, meatball (sliced, trust me, get it), pepperoni and jalapeno pizza will keep me coming back for more.
(5)Jon Y.
My first time in Denver and this is the first place we hit up. Great New York style pizza, great salads. Cool decor, and fantastic, professional service. I was impressed. Nice work Grimaldi's.
(4)Angie M.
We walked around the 16th street mall for an hour looking for something for dinner. This is the only thing that had any type of smell when you walked in. It smelled wonderful. We were seated immediately. We ordered quickly. The food arrived very quick. Pizza was fantastic. $4 for bacon was steep and not really worth it but again the pizza was really good. The salad was a small but it was huge. The only problem was the dressings. The manager was attentive and comped the salad even know that was not what I was looking for.
(4)J A A.
Ok thin crust Denver pizza. Keep toppings simple so they can't skimp on the cheese and sauce. Thin crust - nice flavor. Do not expect NY style pizza. Decent addition to 16th street mall. Outta keep the tourists happy Staff is very nice
(3)Rick S.
Stopped in here after seeing a movie. We each had a personal pizza, plus the Antipasto. The price feels a little high for some of the ingredients, but overall our food was delicious. The service was very attentive without being pushy. I'll definitely be eating here again.
(4)Gabriel S.
This review is of my experience with a regular pepperoni pizza. Not good. The pepperoni was the same small, thick slices you find on cheap toaster oven pizzas. The sauce was so thin and bland I think it may have been tomato flavored water. Avoid if you're a pizza lover.
(2)Andrew J.
Awesome pizza...the small pizza is huge..enough for 3 people..homemade sangria a must try
(5)Jeffrey J.
While I visited Denver on business, my colleague and I stopped by there for dinner on July 4th, It's located in Denver Pavilions, a short walk from multiple hotels. After a short wait, we were quickly seated. Even though the waiter said they were short-staffed, the service was prompt & excellent. I ordered a 12-inch personal coal-fired pesto pizza; it was nothing short of perfectly baked. Overall feel is semi-casual with photos of New York sites. A must-visit!
(5)Franklin B.
Outstanding pizza pie. Flavorful sauce, fresh quality toppings. Nice smokey essence of smoke from the coal fire oven. They do a thin crispy crust well balanced with sauce mozzarella and toppings. Satisfies. Great service too, nice staff and mgmt.
(5)Cary H.
1st time visit today for lunch. Pizza was fantastic. Good beer selection from bigger beer producers. Service was good. Clean facility. Would have received 5 stars but was a little pricey. I would definitely return.
(4)Michele S.
Went to eat at grimaldis on a trip to Denver. And I won't go back. They were not busy and the service was awful. We were seated quickly and the order was taken quickly, but then things went downhill. The waitress said it would only take 15 minutes but then over 30 minutes the first order came out but the other pizza did not. We kept asking and finally after another 15 minutes the other persons pizza came out. The manager did come over apologize and comp one of the pizza, but at that point our waitress instead of making sure everything was ok and checking on us disappeared. No drink refills, nothing. We finally had to ask for our to check to get out. And pizza only ok.
(2)Ashley D.
I get it... You're located in the mall.. BUT really 2-4$ toppings? Regardless of size, I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to pay 2 dollars for garlic.... GARLIC. Other than the ridiculous price for toppings it was good! The sauce tasted fresh and the pizza was thin crust, maybe slightly over cooked. I first thought I ordered a margherita because how little cheese there was. But it's just your basic cheese pizza which I typically like more. But whatever, just call it a margherita.......... Service was good, yada, yada. I believe the manager came to ask how we were doing, thanks!
(4)Meredith G.
I am so disappointed to write this because I wrote an amazing review just about a month ago. Went to Grimaldi's the other day and just couldn't imagine how a restaurant could serve something so bad after having such a great experience not too long ago. I couldn't stop raving about this place! This time...the pizza was a rock. Thin and hard that you could break it! The cheese was sparse, the sauce had a bitter taste and was barely visible on the pizza. So disappointing. We noticed that the crust along the outside edges was just as thin and hard as the middle, not thicker like normal. It was inedible. The manager was surprised that it was sent out looking this way. They're supposed to have someone watching every pizza that goes out. He offered to make another pizza and we accepted. The second pizza, just okay. The sauce recipe has changed from the first delicious bite I had there a couple of months earlier. We were told the executive chef was working with them. I fear the executive chef may not know what he is doing. Guess I'm not eating pizza in Colorado...again. Gave two stars for service!
(2)Mike H.
I first tried Grimaldi's in Las Vegas a few years ago...so when I heard thy were opening a location in Denver I was ecstatic! I counted down the days to the grand opening like a kid in December anticipating Christmas. I was there on the opening day, and have been back several times since. This is truly the most amazing pizza I've ever had, and yes, I've been to both New York an Chicago. I recommend this place to anyone looking for fantastic, real deal New York style pizza! The staff is always amazing, polite and courteous. It is in downtown Denver, so parking can be a bit of a gamble...but trust me, I'd walk 10 miles for a slice! Oh yeah, save room for dessert...the cannoli is insanely good!
(5)Nokkie L.
Grimaldi's have scared my pizza expectations for life! This place has the most amazing pizza I have EVER tasted! Imagine sitting in a rustic Italian kitchen and tasting extremely fresh bright ingredients on a crispy cloud of pizza dough. Mmmmmmmmm....... Great place for date night, girl's night, family night, heck EVERY night :)
(5)Elayne G.
I haven't been yet. But I signed up with them, and I got a birthday coupon for a large one topping pizza, no purchase necessary. I will let you know when I go this week how I like it
(4)Brad P.
For those of us who are not too scientific about our pizza (factoring in altitude, humidity, etc.) and simply appreciate good food and attentive service, this location does not disappoint. The personal pizza with red sauce and one topping (try the meatball!) will only set you back $11, and it's very satisfying. Todd was a great server/bartender with plenty (but not too much) personality. He even advised me against the "small" salad, as I was dining alone and not wanting to overdo it. Appreciate the integrity there . . . I'll be back when I'm in this fantastic area of Denver again.
(5)T G.
The place is awesome - best pizza ever and that's not the only reason I gave it 5 stars - management and service is awesome when you need it most. If you are in downtown Denver you need to try this. Order the pizza with meatball, extra cheese and extra basil - greatest pizza you will ever eat. Glad I found this place and will tell all my out of town Broncos fans who come to see Peyton and the boys!! Ask for a table outside for great people watching. I'll be back!
(5)Rachel C.
Great pizza! I love the coal-fired technique because it allows for a good crunch with the crust. The location is prime, so pricing is higher, but I feel like with the portion sizes and great flavors you get the bang for your buck. They done have a happy hour YET(?) but Grimaldi's has a good beer selection. I would recommend sharing one of the appetizer salads, it is enough to feed a table of four. And both medium and large sized pizzas will leave you more than stuffed. I am excited 16th Street has another go-to pizza spot before spending the night in Denver or catching a movie at the Pavilions!
(4)Pedro R.
First visit and all I can say AMAZING PIZZA! I came in thinking that the food would be like any another pizza place here in Denver but it really isn't. My pizza was cheesy, saucy and the crust was savory and overall fulfilling that by the second slice I felt like death. Our server was nice and punctual and the manager even offered free deserts because "he didn't like how they originally came out" so he made fresh new pizzas in no time! A 5th star goes for quality control, they didn't half ass my pizza and gave it to me, they gave me the best. Will definitely be back!
(5)Vinnie A.
This is my new favorite Denver pizzeria. All the details were right, from the fresh mozzarella to the tangy sauce. I've been twice since they opened last week, each time constructing their version of the Margherita and each time I've been thoroughly impressed. Keep in mind that the ovens are stoked around 4 pm each day, so be prepared to wait if you show up for an early dinner.
(5)Preston B.
The hostess was lovely and sat us right away. The bad thing was we didn't see a waiter for 30 min we timed it. After they finally entered the dining room he took orders on a table that just sat down. We ended up leaving because we had a rockies games to go to. Stinks when a place with such good looking food doesn't uphold on there hospitality end. Mywife is a wAitress so we usually try and be nice and understanding but ohwell we wont be going back.
(1)Diane M.
The salads taste like they are straight out of the garden. The pizza is great. And Miles is a very attentive server.
(5)Jacob G.
Even though our pizza took a while to cook, Kat did a great job waitressing and handled the situation very professionally. Will come back again thanks to her.
(5)Paul B.
Awesome coal fired brick oven pizza. Even the classic mozza, red sauce and fresh basil stands alone. Feeling like a topping?...the meatball was a good choice. Their pasto plate was filled with quality fresh mozzarella with basil, choice cuts of meat , marinated red peppers, olives and crusty Italian bread.
(5)Jolene L.
This pizza has everything I'm looking for in a pizza. The red sauce is light, delicious and dances on my taste buds. Fresh mozzarella delights the entire pizza and pairs perfectly with the sauce. The pepperoni is tiny and crunchy and leaves just enough grease to compliment the rest. Ive also had the pesto sauce with chicken and artichoke and it was divine. We have tried several of the appetizers and salads and everything is super fresh and flavorful.
(5)Wayne C.
Food was great! Loved the coal-fired pizza. Their salads are huge, so if you order a small, it is equivalent of 2 full plates. Even their pizza was the same - a small is equivalent to a medium, in which case you definitely get your money's worth here. The beer selection was decent, but they are a beer and wine joint only. I went there on 3 different occasions, and the wait staff was either excellent or a little slow at times. Otherwise this place is great.
(4)Athey G.
Consistent, authentic. And right on the money. I've been to the one in NY, Florida and now here. A must if in the area. Atmosphere friendly decor as if in NY.
(4)T S.
Ordered a small pizza with half jalapenos and half bacon. Pizza was good overall - nice thin crust, perfect amount of cheese. However, the prices here are ridiculous. They charge $2-$4 for each topping, regardless if you only want it on half of the pizza. Our small pizza with two toppings (essentially one, since it was half and half) cost us $20. While the pizza was good, it wasn't a mind-blowing $20 good and the service wasn't all that great either. Won't be going back.
(2)Brittany K.
I really wanted to like this place and would've given it 4 stars but our large white and garlic pizza with chicken was overcooked. A fair amount of the crust was black and not edible. Parts of the cheese on the pizza were also burnt. Had it not been cooked so long I think it would've been at least 4 stars.
(3)Josh S.
This is one of the worst pizza restaurants I have ever been to and I have been to many more than I could count. After coming out of the cold Denver weather The restaurant was equally as cold as the out Dorris. After waiting 21 minutes for my pizza it was the wrong pizza and undercook, they told me they would remake it. It was another 20 minutes they offered me a cheesecake on the house Which was soggy and absolutely disgusting I cannot believe they try to sell such an awful piece of food. cheesecake is one of the most respected and honourable artforms of the cake community. What they call cheesecake I will not serve to my worst enemy it is that bad! And then the other thing the service is terrible the staff don't know anything about human interaction what so ever every time I had a question they had to go ask a manager! now on to the Price this place is extremely overpriced $20 for a personal two topping pizza not including the tip and not including my drink. If You are going to have pizza in Denver I highly recommend you avoid this please at all costs.

My husband and I make a point to cross the Brooklyn Bridge everytime we visit NYC, and I have to say, we were highly anticipating the opening of a Grimaldi's in Denver. There are several disappointments, however, now that we've given it a few tries. First of all, we are really disappointed that the wine list lacks in a big way Southern Italian wines, which are the best in the world to pair with pizza. And while the pizza is pretty decent (that being said, we absolutely LOVE pizza, so it would be hard to completely disappoint) I think some of the other menu items are the tipping point for us. The salads and appetizers seem lazy in concept and prep. Even something as classic and eloquently simple as a caprese salad seems to come across as "big chain" and cheaply made at this Grimaldi's, with huge chunks of beeksteak tomoto, whole basil leaves you have to chop yourself to pull out the flavor and enjoy with every bite, and an inexplicable lack of olive oil or balsamic. All in all, I think we'll stay loyal to our Brooklyn spot, but may not give this location any more tries.
(1)Janet S.
My boyfriend and I got a 16 in half chicken and bell pepper half italian sausage and pepperoni. We ordered it for carry out. I was disappointed because it was cold and soggy when we brought it home. :( I put it in the oven for a bit and it crisped right up in no time, so that was fine. The crust was great, I really like how crispy and light it was! My initial thought was the same as my boyfriends about taste though. Before I could say anything he said there's not much sauce or cheese, I was thinking it seemed dry myself. We're both fit people, we don't eat a ton by any means so it isn't like we need our pizza piled high with toppings, but I'd definitely rate them higher if they weren't so stingy with the sauce and cheese! Great location, nice on the inside!
