This place now has 3 locations downtown. All 3 are consistent with each other. You won't find better salad downtown. Mad Greens pails in comparison. Choppers is great, but not quite as good. The portions have become smaller, and the price has gone up, over the past couple of years. Even given this, still the best value in salad downtown. I would give this place 5 stars but for the fact that they very commonly make mistakes on orders.

Ugh. This pains me. I've been telling myself "this is a fluke" for too many months, so I guess it's time to update my review :( There's not much to say, except that my past FIVE experiences at Green Fine Salad have been pretty awful. The service is still great, but the taste and freshness is seriously lacking. I've had two salads with semi-wilted lettuce, one with very off mushrooms, and another that hardly had any of the mix ins I had selected. I want to believe that this is all a coincidence and I know that I'm going to keep trying, but I'm tired of throwing away entire salads and eating my emergency oatmeal for lunch, instead. I'm not sure what's up, but I seriously hope the past 6 months can be explained by SOMETHING (anything) and that things will be on the up and up, soon.

Disappointed. Just not great. Also the homeless outside giving everyone a hard time and being rude to female customers was just over the top. Next.
(1)Amy F.
I still like this place, just really annoyed by getting someone else's salad, if I am paying $10.95 for a salad, I would it to be at least the one I ordered.... This is not the steakhouse I ordered, super lame.
(3)T. L.
I've been going to this location often, and for many years. Sadly it just keeps getting a little worse each time I go. First off, it's impossible to hear - no matter how busy they are - and not that it bother me so much, but it's obvious that the employees miss about 1/2 of what you say. When you order a standard menu salad and it's missing 2-3 of the listed ingredients then something is wrong with their training. I would hope that the listed salads would be no-brainers. I think turnover is high, so this makes training tough and this would explain a lot of the mistakes. The salads are good, but expect the wrong salad 50% of the time, possibly even someone else's, all for $11.

II had a quick lunch here when i was in Denver last week. it is located in the Westin. it is priced fairly. This is a salad place and they are a good size. You can build your own. They have some choices. They are prepared quickly. You stand in line while you wait. Got to sit outside while eating. Very good lunch.

This place opened in my office building and they deliver a quality, consistent, healthy lunch at a reasonable price. Sometimes the lines can be long, but usually move pretty quickly. The staff are SUPER friendly, which makes it a great place for lunch. Especially when the weather's nicer as there's a giant courtyard with plenty of sitting and people watching. Keep up the GREAT work!

What a disappointment. I was super impressed upon ordering. All the chopping, the mixing, the quality of ingredients, the homemade dressings... Who wouldn't be impressed? We all took our salads back to the office... And that's when my excitement turned to oh no... This salad could be one of the worst salads I have ever had. Maybe it's because I'm a cook myself and expect more... But where is the seasoning in the dressing? Bite after bite was more and more disappointment until I just tossed it. Dried chicken and no flavor. I won't be back. I will try choppers again tho, because it def was good when I had it last time. This place is on my "don't recommend" list.

This is the second time I have paid a visit to this place when in Denver and it did not disappoint. It is conveniently located outside of the Westin past Palm restaurant. It is just what you expect form a salad bar. Everything is fresh and all the dressings are gluten free! They have plenty of salad combos for you to choose from or you can build your own. The staff is friendly and eager to build a salad to your exact specifications. It is a bit on the high end for a salad but like I said the ingredients are fresh and the protein is quality protein. The portion is also very large so you really do get what you pay for. This is always an easy stop for me when coming into town! Fresh, quality, easy and delicious!

I LOVE this place. Sometimes a bit of a line in the lunch hour, but it moves quickly and is worth it. Basically you can make your own or choose from some selections of salads already concocted to taste great. Either way, you choose from a huge plethora of greens, toppings, proteins, nuts/seeds, and dressings. You can choose to have it as a salad (slightly larger and comes in a bowl) or as a hand held (a tiny bit smaller but after it's all tossed they throw it into a tortilla and then put it on the hot press for a couple minutes, before wrapping it up in some foil like a burrito). The latter is my preference, it's just so good! Since I don't live in Denver, I'm going to have to start making these at home for lunch or dinner. **If you have a food allergy (ex: seafood), you can ask for things to be prepared on a different cutting board with a different knife, etc, they're more than happy to accommodate.
(5)Laurie S.
eh, I went here a few Saturdays ago, and I was thrilled they were open. I used to work downtown and loved this place. Sadly the salad I got was somewhat brown and mopey looking. Not at all what I'm used to. Hmmm... Returned today and tried again, since I was craving it. Nope, out of the lettuce I like and so I left. Really disappointing. You not only got me to drive downtown (5 minutes from my casa) and then pay for parking so I could come visit your establishment and both times I'm left disappointed. Last time, I paid about $12 for the salad, this time I just left because I don't see the point. This is likely my last venture here. Expensive and I didn't get quality last time, and this time the salad place doesn't have the proper lettuce, surely not paying $12 bucks for that. Can't imagine this place will be open on Saturdays much longer.
(2)James W.
Great salad. Finely chopped. Fast and delicious. My one wish list item would be for fresh-brewed iced tea rather than bottled.
(4)Melanie G.
Easily my favorite restaurant and 100% the best salad option available in Denver. Green has ruined me, because salads everywhere else taste horrible in comparison. I used to be a daily customer but working full time somewhere a little too far for a lunch hour visit has limited me. I come EVERY time I have the opportunity during the week because this place is literally the best health food option available downtown. I build a custom so you can pick the ingredients (which are always fresh) and know exactly what you're putting in your body. The dressings are made in-house and I would buy them out of stock of their cucumber dill if they would bottle it. Another big benefit: they chop it so that you don't have giant strings of lettuce hanging out of your mouth if you are there with someone else.
(5)James P.
Fast and friendly service. I ordered the Caesar salad and chili. Both were delicious, and the total cost was under 10 bucks. I will certainly be back again soon.
(5)Paula H.
quick healthy lunch option. If you are looking for ambiance, this isn't the place. Open for lunch, they deliver what they promise. Simple, fast, reasonably priced, chopped salad with options to satisfy all.
(4)Katie R.
With this cutesy little shop right across the street from the office, I have a feeling I will come here more often than not. Why? Let me tell you... 1. Their menu offers a wide variety of ingredients to add to a lettuce of your choice, of you can simply order one of their suggested special salads, full of yummy ingredients! I ordered the Santa Fe salad and it was packed full or corn, chicken, avocados, tomatoes, onions and more! MMMMM! 2. Their portions are huge. I was able to split the salad in half and have part if it for lunch and the rest the next day! Ps. If you ask for the dressing on the side, it helps for the next day, so your lettuce doesn't get all soggy! 3. The staff is very nice, helpful and quick. I walked in overwhelmed and had no idea what to order but the staff walked me through what I liked and added it all! I knock one star off for price. It's extremely hard for me to spend $10+ on a salad starting, with additions it was a bit more expensive, making my pocketbook cringe. I think I'll come here when I'm feeling rich or desperately craving a salad!
(4)Allyson M.
The Sweet Baby is my absolute favorite! I also love the Santa Fe, Steakhouse and Cobb salads too. Great place to stop for a healthy, quick lunch.
(4)Felix B.
The best salad place in town! Best quality and price. And the employees remember the frequent "greeners" which is a nice touch. Although I miss the Oscar the Grouch and other fun hats they were allowed to wear at one time - just like what happens with a lot of fun, nice local places, they now have required uniforms (say NO to corporatization!).
(5)Anita I.
Wait, what? How have I not yelped this place yet? I tried to go today to grab a salad as I'm working on a Saturday and they are closed *&*^&*%*&^! I'm tempted to take off a star just for being inconvenienced 'cause I do love the salads! Lots of gluten free options and lots of delicious salads to choose from. I've never had the soups so I can't vouch for them. They do take you through an assembly line - you give your order, they mix it all up in a bowl, write down your name and dressing and then send you down to the choppers. The choppers chop all your yummy ingredients into more managable bite sized pieces and hand it back to you in a neatly packaged salad bowl. They also offer all of their salads as a wrap - which my husband prefers as he's not gluten free. It's quick, seems healthy, and delicious. Staff is friendly. Just don't plan on eating here on weekends!
(5)Andrea P.
Love this place, if you're looking for a quick and healthy meal, definitely come here! They have options for anyone
(5)Kane P.
I have been going here on my lunch breaks for years and I always forget how good it is each time. The salad's are big, not overpriced (like mad greens) and they are quick. The line looks daunting, but always goes quick. The steakhouse salad is exceptional, piled with meat, mushrooms and shoestring fries and topped with blue cheese (there's a whole lot of salad)- its pretty boss.
(5)Jennifer B.
A very fine Salad place on the 16th Street mall. Normally I would say if you've been to one you've been to them all, that's not the case with this one. This place is truly the best place to get a sublime salad with a variety of ingredients. They also seem to specialize in light vinaigrette's as opposed to heavy dressings and they're super flavorful with fresh and crisp flavors. I would recommend ordering off the already pre-designed salad menu since creating your own can get pricey fast with the charge for each ingredient. If you opt to do so you can sub ingredients into an already pre-designed salad for no extra charge, a nice offer. The salad's are large and filling and keep you feeling healthy with all the veggies offered. I love arugula and almost always go with some variation with extra veggies. Sometimes the line can look really long especially when it's flowing out the door onto the street. Don't let this discourage you, the line moves very fast and the people working are experts in expediting. A pleasure to enjoy a tasty salad from a place that does it right!
(4)Blake H.
Cobb salad with ranch (spa or otherwise) will blow your socks off. The lunch line is always out the door and is completely justified. The Steakhouse is also a solid choice with lean steak prepared medium to medum-well. I was blown away when I reviewed their nutrition facts. As Karl Welzein would say, "health zone, you guys." My office is right around the corner and I could not be happier to have Green Fine within walking distance. If I had half a million, I would open two stores because I honestly believe this concept is the next Chipotle.
(5)Chelle T.
Tried and true. It's been a few years since I've stopped at Green Fine Salad but I got to have lunch there today. In a very refreshing way, nothing has changed. They still offer the freshest veggies along with a wide array of salad toppings. It's a treat to have so many options with your salad or hand held (salad wrapped in a warm tortilla). The Metropolis Salad remains my favorite. Absolutely delish! This place is always crowded but the staff moves the line quickly, accompanied with smiles. I remain a fan.
(4)Frances G.
For a pretty penny they mix up a pretty hearty salad with all the right portions of ingredients and dressing. The service is pleasant and the assembly is quick and efficient, but like I mentioned, $11 for a salad is on the steeper side. If it really wasn't worth the bucks, I'd have an issue, but to be truthful - my bistro salad infused with hard boiled egg, a tun salad, kalamata olives, green beans, and feta cheese what married in perfect harmony over a bed of fresh eggs. If your in the mood for a light lunch with some heavy tastes, this is a good stop.
(4)Carolyn M.
In my last year of boycotting Greens, I completely forgot how delicious their salads are. I did NOT, however, forget how much they cost. As if the $9 price point wasn't bad enough, the store implemented yet another price increase in January. I got the Steakhouse salad for lunch (which is absolutely wonderful, honestly) and replaced the red onion with artichoke hearts (hello, I need to return to work, where I communicate with people) as I always do. My salad, without any beverages or sides, cost $10 and some change. That is so expensive! Definitely worth it if you're jonesing for some greens, but no one in their right mind should be eating here regularly. Right?!
(3)Neha G.
I felt that the place was pricey for the amount of food it serves, however salad was good. Hubby tried to buy a panini but they were out of the ingredients at 7 PM, so he went with soup and salad. It is a good place for vegetarians. I tried a house Cesar salad, and I could tell the greens were fresh and Parmesan was recently grated. The place has tons of seating space, but was really empty on the day we went. I was expecting a lot of summer evening crowd, but to be honest a lot of places were closing down near by. Probably people eat early on 16th street mall.
(4)Steven H.
After a year of eating salads at other places across the nation, I ordered a salad for lunch at Green Fine Salad in mid-May during my annual work trip to Denver. I had my old standby, the Santa Fe, substituting tomatoes for the tortilla strips, mixed greens for the romaine and buttermilk herb dressing for whatever they suggest. That was without a doubt the most delicious and satisfying salad I have had anywhere all year. I also salute their initiative to eliminate almost all plastic - bowls, utensils, bags, etc. You really don't miss them at all. Service is friendly and efficient. Yes, you will wait on a long line to get your Green Fine Salad. But it moves quickly and is oh-so-worth it.
(5)Salome M.
The salads were okay, the produce was lackluster, and the waitstaff was INCREDIBLY rude.
(2)Carlin L.
These salads are expensive at $10 a pop, but I question you. Is it worth $10 to put wholesome, hearty and down right tasty ingredients into your body? If not, go drop $2 on a cancer-burger from McMaggots. TIP: Avoid the work lunch rush. Go before noon and/or after 1:00 pm.
(5)Michelle E.
Love it, but go early because it gets busy fast! Much better than Mad Greens, fresh, washed lettuce (something some downtown establishments still have yet to master). Salads are a little more than most places, BUT they are also much larger. I ended up saving half of mine for dinner.
(4)Daniela B.
Probably my favorite lunch spot during the week with great salad combinations. Nice variety of ingredients for you to combine or order from their suggestions and make tweaks as desired. They have a loyalty card...9 salads gets you the 10th free and I have gotten multiple free salads over last year. My favorite salads are the Bistro salad with tuna, kalamata olives, and potatoes, but I usually ask for asparagus instead of fried frizzy leeks, or the Metropolis with fresh mozzarella but I get chick peas instead of chicken and the Tuscan one is really good with shaved Parmesan and navy beans. Salads are big so very feeling.....ordering line tends to be long but moves fast
(5)Lindsay w.
I LOVE this place and I go here for lunch about 3 times a week. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is bc approx 50% of the time I order "dressing on the side" they mix it in (even though they specifically ask how I want the dressing). It seems like a really tiny thing, but it adds about 5-7 minutes more to my wait time to have them remake it, plus I'm sure it adds unnecessarily to their waste.
(4)Krysta W.
I had the Rave Salad here when my company ordered salads from them at work. Its a large company so we probably ordered near 100 salads, but they all turned out great. I loved the frizzled leeks on the salad and have yet to see those on any other menu. Creative and fun signature items, but still able to build-your-own if none of those appeal to you.
(4)Candy T.
I eat here for lunch quite often and definitely think it's the best place downtown to get a salad. I've tried Mad Greens and Chopper's, but the ingredients at Green Fine are so much better (they have Hearts of Palm!) and the staff is infinitely more friendly. Normally I get a Custom Craft salad and it comes out to less than $9, so it makes for an inexpensive but filling lunch. The line can get a little bit long but it usually moves pretty quickly. The only thing I dislike about this place is that they close at 4pm and are not open on the weekends!
(4)Jim M.
I'm not big on salads, and when I saw that these salads approach $10, I was highly skeptical. But as I sit here eating my Asian Salad (with mixed greens instead of the iceberg lettuce), I'm motivated to incorporate salads into my lunch options. This Asian Salad has a great mix of flavors and textures, and the amount of dressing is perfect. I also like that they chop up and mix everything. No knife required. Back to the "mixed greens instead of iceberg" change. When they first made my salad, they noticed that they forgot my change request. So they quickly made me a new salad. No input required from me ... they noticed the mistake and fixed it. The line during lunch (we went right at noon) was out-the-door long, but it moved quickly.
(4)Casey S.
Love this place. The salads are huge, lots of Gluten Free choices (almost all dressings are GF), and everything is incredibly fresh. My average salad with a protein is about $9 - $11 after tax. FYI Green Fine Salad is *far* superior to Mad Greens. The salads are much bigger, more meat, and they're chopped! The extra $1 or so is well worth it. I won't return to Mad Greens ever again!
(5)Laurie W.
I'm totally a fan of Green, but I had to take a star off of my review. They've just had too many mistakes on my salads recently. Today, I was the only customer in line, I paid for the fizzled leeks on my salad, but they forgot to put them on. They also did not chop my salad and mix it well, which is one of my favorite reasons for going to green. Another day recently, they put spa balsamic instead of spa ranch on my salad. Then they lady at the register argued with me about it. I went ahead and bought the salad, but when I got it back to my office, it was balsamic indeed. The friendly service has also gone downhill. I understand that they are busy, but it's getting downright snobbish in there. Will I keep going there for salads? Absolutely; when they get it right, it's awesome. But when it's wrong, it's sad.
(3)Meghan N.
So delicious! I basically live off salad and this place has fabulous salads! The only bad thing is their hours... Why must they close so early?! I have to make sure I get there before they close. I'm pretty sure they aren't open on weekends either. If you are a salad person like myself... TRY IT. I'm addicted to their Santa Fe Salad!
(5)Amy O.
AWE-SUM. This place is very similar to one of my favorite salad places in Boston called Sebastian's. But WAY better. Basically because Green Fine offers more toppings and they chop the salad for you. UGH. I want to eat here every day. Seriously. But it's definitely pricey.
(5)Manuel B.
A location just opened between 17th and 18th, on California in downtown. The salad was fine (I ordered the Krave). I won't likely go back. They are really pushing it with the price of the salads. $10 for a salad and nothing else is just too much. The salad I ordered was mediocre and a very poor value.
(2)Jonathan B.
Good, healthful options at a reasonable price. Big selection of "add-ins" to make the best salad you can think of. Or, get your salad wrapped up as a hand-held. It's good and good for you.
(4)Bobby T.
I always figured that if I was going to eat salad for lunch I could just bring it from home. Then I finally tried Green Fine Salad Co. Sure, it's a little pricey at about $10 for a specialty salad, but the fact that all of the ingredients are fresh as hell and damn tasty to boot, plus they go through the extra step of chopping all of your ingredients together so you get a perfectly distributed mix with each forkful makes it worth it. I'm trying to eat a little more healthfully, too, and they're website made finding the salad that meets that criteria very easy. It's the Caesar Grill salad. Whoda thunk a Caesar salad has the least calories and fat of all of their specialty salads? You can get either chicken or steak as your protein. Chicken saves you some calories, but the steak was tender and flavorful. Big fan, Green Fine Salad Co. Big fan
(4)Marianne L.
I'm not much of a salad person, but my friend loved this place, so we went all the time. Lunchtime has a line out of the door, which speaks volumes considering how many restaurants are along 16th Street Mall. It's a quick lunch, but I think it's very easy to find unhealthy choices within a salad joint, so you have to be careful about that. I was happy with the quality of ingredients and how quickly they prepare a great salad for you. I wish that there was a smaller portion option, because I definitely can't even eat half at one time. :\ So it gets expensive - because who enjoys eating leftover, soggy salad?
(4)Jennifer Y.
Awesome salads- fresh ingredients, interesting dressings (red curry vinagrette anyone?? Yes, please!) but had to ding them for crappy service. I was on a business trip to Denver and craving something healthier than airport food when I yelp'd and found this place next to my hotel. Good reviews, custom salads, take-out - what could go wrong?? Like I mentioned, my salad turned out delish so I have no complaints about the food, but the one thing that will stop me from ever going back was the attitude and lack of service from the d-bag hipster behind the counter. I was literally the only customer in the place (it was 3pm) and stood waiting for 5 minutes at the order station while the server putzed around at the register looking bored and disgruntled. By the time he finally deigned it important enough to take my order 1 other person had joined the line- and instead of starting to make my salad- he immediately took her order instead!!! 15 minutes later he's finally finished mixing and chopping my salad and I'm ready to go. Thank god there wasn't a line when I got there, or else I could have been waiting for hours!
(3)Tiffany N.
Is there anything better than building your own stuff? Not if you're me. The sense of accomplishment and adventure combined makes me happier than a clam. So, it's kind of a no-brainer that I'm a fan of Green Fine Salad. And not only do I get to create my own salad creation, the workers do all the heavy lifting for me as they actually "make" the salad, adding ingredients (chickpeas! spinach! blue cheese! tofu! tomatoes! and so on) as I call them out. Then they mix the ingredients with the dressing in a big bowl at the end of the line so the dressing is evenly spread around. So very radical. Green Fine Salad also has pre-created salad on days you aren't feeling adventurous or when you just want to go with the tried and true items. I've had the Twice Chopped Salad and absolutely demolished it. The people are friendly, the lines move fast, and the prices are pretty reasonable. If you're in the downtown area for lunch I recommend giving this spot a try.
(4)Gabi M.
Green Fine Salad is my kind of place... Tiffany C and the rest of our team were headed to Biker Jim's for some gourmet hot dogs toda but I opted to skip that and hit up Green instead. I like eating salads for lunch, and it was perfect because the two places are literally across the street from each other. I picked up my salad while the rest of the gang ordered up their dogs and then we all ate outside together. From their website and Yelp reviews, I knew I'd like Green, but I was extremely impressed with the selection of fresh quality ingredients, friendly service, cleanliness of the place, and prices once I experienced it myself. I ordered up a custom salad with the following ingredients: -Romaine and Iceburg lettuce -Baked Tofu -Asparagus -Beets -Hearts of Palm -Artichoke -Chopped Tomato -Cucumber -Grilled Portabellas All of the above were tossed up, chopped to bite size pieces, and then dressed perfectly with balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered a grilled tortilla on the side and there I had it... my perfect lunch! I noticed that the signature salads looked pretty good too... I wish there was a GFS closer to home as I would be a regular for sure. Until then, I will have a go-to salad spot for any future visits to Denver!
(5)Andrea R.
I've always been quite jealous of all the awesome make-your-own salad joints in NY. And it appears that Denver has jumped on the bandwagon with Green Fine Salad. I met a friend from LA here who I discovered just happened to be in Denver for work as well...gotta love the powers of Facebook. Usually I'd be excited to create my very own salad, but thanks to way too many vodka shots the night before that was a bit more than my brain could handle. Instead I chose one of their signature salads and changed some things around- mostly just added more cheese and other fattening stuff. It was light, delicious, and definitely more affordable than any salad I"ve had in NY. Um, jealous! Get with the make-your-own-salad program Chicago!
(4)Ryan L.
I love that a line forms outside this place at lunch time and you hear people walking by say, "A line? For SALAD??" Yeah, this place is popular. When I'm in d/t Denver I like to pop in here for lunch, too. Tons of selection - either build your own salad or choose one of their pre-configured salads from the menu (note, that doesn't mean pre-made ... everything is made to order in front of you). I wish I could tell if any of the ingredients are organic (hey, I'm a Californian ... it's to be expected), especially the greens. Tasty stuff, albeit a bit pricey.
(4)Jelena Z.
Green Fine Salad makes eating light a walk in the park. You select one of their signature salads (that can also be turned into a 'handheld' aka wrap) and they chop it to blended perfection right in front of your eyes. I had the Cobb Salad wrap-- grilled chicken, avocado, red onions, hard-boiled egg and so on... I even added fresh mozzarella for only $.50! The actual wrap is a high-quality one. They grill it and it has somewhat of a flaky texture, which I love. Green Fine Salad, we need you in Chicago! Lunch for under $10 with a drink. Chop to it!

Cannot believe this place is always crowded and gets good reviews. Not that good. Not that fresh. Really long lines. Really expensive. Really poor service. Thought I would give them another chance and went to try their soup. They practically yelled at me when I asked what there soups were. "Same 4 soups everyday!" They snapped...well I've never ordered soup here, so do you mind telling what those are? or perhaps (if its' not too much trouble) posting the list somewhere it can be seen? It is up behind the cash register where you can't possible see it from the ordering area. I was just getting ready to tell a colleague about my experience and the first thing she said was "did they yell at you about the soups too?" A least it's not just me... Better salads two blocks away
(1)Kelsey R.
My coworkers and I frequent Green during our lunch hour. My favorite part is they chop it all up and mix it together so each bite has a little bit of everything on it. Green cured my distaste of salads with some delicious options, including my most recent favorite- the Santa Fe salad with tofu instead of chicken. I highly suggest checking out their menu beforehand because the line moves so fast during lunchtime. The salads are a tad on the pricey side but I typically get 1.5 meals out of each salad, which makes it totally worth it. The staff is wonderful, food delicious and close to so much downtown. Be sure to check it out!
(5)Cara G.
Great place to go when you're craving greens. Especially in the warmer months, this particular location (as opposed to the one at 16th & Broadway) is a great choice because the restaurant is open-air and it's right on Skyline Park. Lots of great people watching, sunshine and extra places to sit if all of Green's patio seating is full. It's true what the others have said: the line moves fast, so fear not if it's out-the-door when you first arrive. This is also a nice stop if you need to strike a compromise with your lunchmates. If there are eyes rolling and groans when you say you want a SALAD for lunch, offer up GFS's unique "hand-held" which is any salad (many include chicken or steak) wrapped up in a delicious, nice-and-warm tortilla. Salad burrito! You can create your own salad (because staring down at all the available ingredients will truly make your mouth water) or order a ready-made creation (my long-standing favorite is the Tuscan: baby arugula, romaine hearts and bibb lettuce with navy beans, artichokes, roasted tomatoes, shaved parmesan, plus egg-whites). A bite of free bread comes with your salad if you need just a little extra carb, and they also have healthier drinks like Izze and Perrier to quench your thirst. BONUS: Credit to GFS for making it easy to understand the nutritional value of what you're eating, and huge points for using compostables! Bowls, silverware and cups.
(4)Sam H.
Great chopped salads. Plenty of fresh ingredients that you can mix up and create any concoction you're in the mood for. They also offer a variety of dressings including many healthy ones. Have been there many times and never get tired of it.

Working downtown can be tricky when it comes to finding something healthy. Luckily, Green Fine Salad fixes that. This place is legit. I've been here numerous times and its my stop-of-choice when my wife is coming to meet me for lunch, or if I'm just tired of getting baja fresh. Don't be deterred if you happen upon a line out the door. It goes fast. Here's how it works. You make your order at the counter in one line, and then get in another line to pick up your food. The options are plentiful. There are numerous pre-fab options, such as the amazingly flavorful sweet baby. You can either get a less expensive wrap or the more expensive salad. So far, I haven't ventured away from the wraps. Why? Sandwich press. They sandwich press the salad wraps. Who would've thought? Sweet baby on a wheat wrap w/sandwich press is amazing. (Sweet baby is baby spinach, arugula, pepperoni, craisins, pinenuts, asiago cheese, and red onions). Big bonus: Boylans sodas are available from the soda machine. Something about sodas with all-natural sugar instead of corn syrup just makes me happy. Big subtraction: the place is freaking loud. I feel like the workers intentionally slam the metal bowls as hard as they can when preparing the food, creating a cacophony of sound in the process. The sound is outweighed, however, by the fresh ingredients, the prep speed, and the price. Definitely a top-3 lunch spot downtown.

When Greens first opened I was a huge fan (and work across the street) and went there all the time. But after a year their service became really slow and sloppy, the quality of the salads went down and their prices went up so I refused to go there after a number of bad experiences. Recently I was back at Greens after a year hiatus and I was satisfied with their service and food. Looks like they went through some staff change and cleaned up their act. I suggest the hand held salad, as it is wrapped in a large tortilla (now available in wheat) and put in a sandwich press. It is cheaper than in a bowl and the size is not that much different, also the warm tortilla against the cool salad is a nice contrast. Their soups are homemade and very hearty. One time I had an amazing green curry chicken soup which was flavorful and rich, a great winter soup. Stay away from the complementary slices of bread, it has no taste at all. You will still end up paying $8-10 for a salad at Greens, but I now think it is the best place to pick up a good salad.

Healthy and fast. I would enjoy one or two of the menu items on the board, but the menu does not make it easy to customize your salad and choose exactly what you would like on it. Perhaps they could change the ordering process to use a ticket system where the customer can check off the items they would like while in line and hand it to the chef when they get to the front of the line...

The owner of Green Fine reached out to me after I wrote this review. He obviously cares about the quality of the food and the satisfaction of his customers. As you'll probably notice from my other reviews, customer service means a lot to me, so I've increased my rating accordingly.

I have never really been a salad guy, but Green is by far the best salad place I have been. I used to only get their signature salads (mostly Asian or Steakhouse), which are pretty amazing, but creating your own salad can get you exactly what you want. The salads are about $10-$11 with a protein in it, but it is still the best salad you can get in Denver for the price. A few of my favorites on the menu are the roasted cauliflower, shrimp (you get like 8 sauteed shrimp in a serving) and their Cusabi dressing (a mix of cucumber and wasabi). The cusabi dressing is incredible because they mix it in perfectly so that every third bite has a pretty good kick to it. Also the staff is great. During the lunch rush, they get slammed but still smile and make sure every order is correct. Seating is extremely limited inside the restaurant so I would not plan on getting a seat unless you come right at 11 or after the rush ends. If the weather is nice, you can always find a spot to pop a squat at Skyline Park, which is right outside Green's doors. Green is great, both for salad lovers and those adults that give some of their veggies to the dog.

What I had? Custom craft salad (Romaine hearts lettuce, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, cucumber, boiled egg, and Honey Dijon dressing) Food review: This is another one of my low sodium options during the work week. The ingredients are of great quality and there is a wide variety of items you can add to your salad. It's just a solid salad place. Service? Quick and service with a smile :-)

To be fair, I'm comparing to what I like to eat in NorCal, land of everything organic, healthy, and farmer's markety (I know, that's not a word). The salads were a bit pricey in my opinion, but they were quite large. I had the Sante Fe salad, and it was pretty good. Of course, the salads don't all look as healthy as you might think -- many have add ons such as fried chicken, chips, etc. that diminish the health value of the salad (sorry, not trying to be a party pooper). I did appreciate how the salad was well-chopped and well-mixed. They gave a lot of chicken, which means you're getting something for the higher than average salad cost. Service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely visit again if I were in the area.

This place would have 5 stars if it wasn't so unorganized! The food is delicious but going during lunch rush has become unbearable. I feel as though I'm fighting to give my order and annoying the very busy employees. With all the chaos, my order has been messed up multiple times. Don't even try to to order multiple salads - you'll get lost in the shuffle.

I love this place, so much so I feel like I stalk it for lunch! I work across the street so it is convenient but I love the fresh ingredients and that it is chopped. I now go to higher end restaurants and dislike that the salads aren't chopped and tossed... Also, they give all the nutritional stats posted right on the wall for all to see. The dressings along with the rest of the salads are not only delicious but are really quite healthy. That is awesome, because a lot of times you order a salad to eat something fresh and healthy and later find out you would have been better off eating the double cheeseburger your husband had, seriously WTF is up with that. No worries of that here you know what you are getting into and will love it.

I've got to write an update, I've just GOT to. I'm sorry, I really really want to love this place, but I doubt I'm going back anytime soon. It was busy today, and I get it. I decided on getting a "hand held" (i.e. a wrap), which I saw made right in front of me. Woo hoo. But then I suddenly saw my ingredients disappear. I get to pay....and not only did my "hand held" and puny drink total almost $10 (seriously?, it was a cobb wrap) WAY more than I wanted to spend on lunch, it was too late to turn back and I reluctantly handed over my Visa. The wrap still not in my posses ion, the cashier assured me it would just be a minute. (I had seen her excuse herself quickly to take other people their wraps, so I sat down and waited hopefully expecting the same) You guessed it, I waited....and waited. I finally got up and stood kind of in her view... she saw me and handed over my wrap, not only in a greasy wrapper, but with a very, nonchalant, "Oh, sorry". And guess what? My wrap.....was soggy. Yuuuuuum. With so many other places to spend my money on or near the 16th street mall, I'll choose an alternative and would recommend others to do so as well.

I've been eating here since they first opened, and I've probably had well over 200 salads here over the years. So of course, when I finally walk in and think, "I should Yelp this place", things go awry. As I sat eating my salad (which was delicious as usual), I watched an employee who was off work walk behind the counter and talk to another employee while playing with her cell phone. Then she reached into one of the containers (with her bare hands) and ate something. Kind of gross. On my next visit a few days later I observed a different employee also eating out of the ingredients. I understand the employees get hungry, but perhaps use the tongs and put the food into a bowl and eat it with a utensil? As I mentioned, I've had a LOT of tasty, well-prepared salads here, but I had to knock off two stars for the nibble goblins.

Best salad in Denver, bar none. In fact, this location is better than the one on Broadway. Everything is ridiculously fresh, the chopping is awesome, and they let you make substitutions. The only downside is the relatively high price (~$9 for a salad) and the long wait if you come around noon.
(5)Cassie T.
I used to eat here about 4 times every 2 weeks when I was downtown (now in DTC). Even if the line is long, it's fast and worth a little bit of a wait because the portions are great and the ingredients are fresh. My personal favorite is the tuscan salad minus the beans add asparagus with the ginger soy dressing. During the winter they have great soup that are pretty hearty but it goes quickly so I would suggest getting there a little bit earlier if you want it. Also, I'm not a fan of the house green dressing as I think it has too much dill in it but other than that, I haven't had anything else I didn't like. The location is great, right across from the skyline park so any time of year it's great for people watching- (basketball or ice skating) plus they have a patio!
(4)Bryan P.
Just had the spinach salad with pepperoni. Crazy good!
(5)J M.
I am allergic to spinach so I was really excited to find a place where I could make my own salad and ask for ice berg only. Downside? Some spinach leaves had fallen into the ice berg. Also, there was something weird with the line. It seemed like there were two and I kept getting bypassed. The whole line format wasn't really clear...did I miss something? Other than that, yep, "fine" is how I would describe the salads too. The sesame ginger dressing could use a tad more flavor...
(3)Sara B.
Amazing place! Customizable salad and wraps. Nutrition information displayed at the front entrance, giving customers and accurate idea of the meal's nutrition. Friendly staff, great food, definitely recommend!
(5)R W.
I love this place -- wish it were more inviting to sit in, but they certainly make great salads and keep the traffic moving when it's crowded. Their ingredients are a mix of traditional and surprising, and they have great combo suggestions, or you can create your own. If you like fresh salad with a lot of creativity, you'll like this place.
(4)Krissy R.
This place is very cute! I think the salads here are bigger and better than the ones you'll get at Mad Greens (down the street), and there are more interesting topping options. Unique topping options include: hard boiled egg whites (no more picking the yolks out), quinoa salsa, roasted cauliflower, hearts of palm, craisins, sweet potatoes, and even toasted pepperoni. I think the prices are more reasonable than the prices at Mad Greens as well. There are more soft baked cookie options (when I was there I saw chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies, among others). I wish there was a Green Fine Salad store at home in Arlington! Salads come with a slice of fresh baguette (so soft and tasty) and you can get the salad folded into a warm griddled tortilla if you'd like.
(5)Christopher S.
Of the Salad joints downtown, this one is a decent place to have lunch. The portion sizes tend towards large, but that's a good thing in this case. The line is usually very long, a positive sign for restaurants in general. The table seating is limited inside. In the Summer this isn't a problem. Interesting menu creations, fast counter service and reasonable prices. I go here when I want to get off the meat wagon, although they do have meats in some of the salads if you want it. Worth the wait.
(4)Bo B.
I loved having the option to build my own salads. It was very tasty. Everything seemed fresh. The staff was very helpful and the portion for $8 was good. I'll definitely be going back. Plus, I really love the fact that they are focused on recycling and sustainability. Kudos for that. Oh, the pickled beats were fantastic!
(4)Kate G.
Mmmmm sweet baby salad with baby spinach, arugula, pepperoni, craisins, pinenuts, asiago cheese and red onion...I love you. Your balsamic dressing was so flavorful mixed with those delicious I-would-never-have-combined-them-on-my-own ingredients, I needed less than half the cup. I love that you came perfectly chopped and mixed for easy, even eating unlike my to-go salad from a different place yesterday, where I had to cut everything from the huge hunks of chicken to entire whole leaves of romaine. Your recycled and/or compostable bowl makes me happy as does your Izze selection. I had avoided these fast salad places for over three years now because hey, I can make my own damn salad, and now I'm finding one by one that they are pretty freaking good. Maybe not all that cheap nor all healthy, but good. Somehow this one even topped (grrrr) my own homemade salad from earlier in the week with spinach, red leaf, grilled steak and broccoli, cucumber, green onion and feta with homemade cilantro honey lime dressing. And if that can be topped by a friggin' fast salad joint on the 16th Street Mall, well then I'm going have to admit defeat. Unfortunately I haven't been very loyal, so Mad Greens I guess you're up next.

Perhaps it's because when I was growing up "salad" was either iceberg lettuce with a wedge of tomato slathered in ranch or some kind of mayonnaise coated pasta or meat dish, but I LOVE me some fancy salad. (When I took my parents out for some fancy salad, my dad picked up a spinach leaf and said, "What's this?" while my mom declared the mixed greens "lawn clippings.") My favorite salad is mixed greens and spinach with carrots, cucumbers, parmesan and sunflower seeds. Seeds of any kind kicks croutons' ass! Nice crunch, plus way better for you. This time, I had some crispy chicken thrown in for kicks. Their ingredients are fresh, crisp and delicious. We got there right when they opened, but judging by the line that formed after us, it seems to be quite popular. I'm a wee bit torn on the chopping of the salad. While on the one hand, I greatly appreciated my salad being manageably chopped into bite-sized morsels; the din of constant chopping while eating there was distracting. Also on the side of chopping, the salad is well mixed for maximum enjoyment right to the last bite. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I prevailed and was comfortably full until late that night, quite the feat for a salad. They don't have multiple sizes of salads, but the containers are such that you could take the rest with you if you didn't happen to eat it all. I love that they give you a free piece of fresh bread with your meal. At first I was alarmed that they didn't ask me how much dressing I wanted, but they must be mind-readers because they got it just right. I'm also a big fan of their environmental considerations. The "plastic" cups are really made from corn and completely biodegradable. When clearing the table, I was momentarily confused when everything seemed to be recyclable. Could it be true? Yes, just not any left over food. Since I didn't have that problem, I felt even better about my Green indulgence.

I am obsessed with this salad place! It is my go to place for lunch. They have a ton of mix ins, there is sure to be something for everyone. I love love their cucumber dill dressing. You can also get a punch card and earn a free salad. I recommend Green to anyone looking for a healthy lunch option.

I had lunch at Green today and while standing in line with my friend Collin I had a sudden memory jog! Picture it... girl dressed all cute and professional walks over to Green from her Larimer Square office. She picks up a salad and in an effort to be a little "green" herself says, "I don't need a bag - I'll just carry the salad!" Walking back to the office she starts to daydream and whilst staring sideways at a store window catches her professional little shoe on the sidewalk and nearly takes a tumble! Noooooooooo - there goes the salad! All over the sidewalk, all over her outfit, all over everything except for her hungry stomach. DARN IT! Said girl carefully "sweeps up" the salad as best she can and is about to return to the office when she decides she is still hungry and goes back to Green to order another salad. Sheepishly standing in line, a girl behind the counter recognizes the girl (and probably sees some lettuce hanging from her shoe) and says, "Weren't you just here?" Upon hearing the sad story of the salad, she gets a sympathetic face and says - "I will make you another one on the house!" Such is Green. A really nice, friendly place to get a lunch time salad. I had lunch at Green today and it was good. I had the Asian salad - which includes peanuts and snow peas, an interesting combo! I do like the concept of Green and I noticed that they have a lot of "green" concepts in place for recycling, which is pretty cool. Luckily I returned to the office today with my salad in one piece (and not a hint of lettuce on my shoes...) I will be back!
(4)Sean R.
I've been eating here for years. The food is always incredibly fresh and delicious. The portions are very large and I usually can't finish it all. The only downside is the price is a little more than I would like to spend on a lunch salad.
(4)Daniel K.
what a great place! My friend that works in downtown told me to meet him here. At first i was a bit sketchy as im not a HUGE salad fan but WOW was i wrong. I got the santa fe excluding the tortilla chips and avocado for egg whites and cucumbers and got it wrapped in a big tortilla. You think chipotle/qdoba burritos are big!? Na uh.. biggest thing for me is that it made me feel very healthy and actually more active when i got back to campus
(5)Kelly H.
I'm in love with the Sante Fe salad with blackened chicken. Delish! Alfresco dining options would bump this up to 5 stars. Alas, I must to give props for GFS' eco-consciousness - they recycle all of their products.
(4)Jenn G.
Salad + super large burrito = happiness! YES it is "only" a salad... or so it looks that way. My favorites are the Santa Fe and the Cobb (with blue cheese bc i have an addiction to moldy cheese). For a cheap-o like me, I honestly find $7.35 for a hand held salad pricey. BUT if you have more self-discipline than I do, you can save half for tomorrows lunch (or three hours from when you put it in the fridge). There really is plenty to go around, and DANG is that one tasty salad. Take THAT Chipotle! Also, I LOVE that their forks/knives/cups are made from corn product. Oh yes... Green is sexy!
(5)William B.
Thanks to business trips, I have eaten more fast lunches in downtown Denver than I care to remember and only discovered this place the last Friday of our next-to-last trip--- how I wish I had discovered it earlier. The salads are substantial, interesting, fresh, and yummy (I got the Cobb Salad). Like a Cosi, but much, better. Do not confuse it with MAD Greens.
(5)Lauren D.
I'm downgrading my review a little. Sorry Green. While the entire staff was very pleasant, I ordered 1 salad and 1 handheld to-go. Waited at least 10 min extra for the handheld they forgot to make and flew out the door in such a rush (I am on my lunch break) that I neglected to look in the bag to see that they left out my stilton vinaigrette which I had requested on the side. So I had a big lovely $10 cobb salad with no dressing. Huge bummer on the one day of the week I actually decide to leave the office for lunch.
(3)Chester B.
Working across the street from this place is dangerous. I could easily eat here every day. Good value for what you get I think. There is a reason the line is usually out the door.
(5)Claire S.
I love this place. My hands-down absolute favorite salad is the Santa Fe with candied pecans added in (for 50 cents extra). A slice of bread comes with the entree and you can either get it "for here" in the rare fast food reusable bowl or "to go" in a compostable container! If you've got a friend and not a lotta dough, one salad is plenty for two and the friendly salad makers are happy to split it for you. I usually get a delicious Izze to wash it down, but sometimes I'll go for that weakness of mine- the uber-caffeinated Bing! drink. The only drawback is it's pretty noisy during the lunch time rush. And... once... just once... I was reading, eating my salad by the window and a woman spotted me from outside, and came inside the restaurant to ask me for five dollars. That was weird. But it wasn't the restaurant's fault.
(5)Dawn W.
Darn I forgot to "check in" when I was picking up my salad today. Green Fine Salad was recommended to me a couple of weeks ago, when my coworkers were informing me they were going to pick up "crack salad." Of course I had to ask what sort of salad that was, and they said the type you must have on a regular basis and crave. Kind of like an addiction...I guess there are things that could be worse then a salad addiction, right? The line is always long when I go at lunch, but moves fast, so don't let that deter you. When I say long, I mean usually out the door and to the side a ways. Takes about 10 minutes (max) to work your way from the back to the cashier. The salads are completely fresh and huge. I can never eat a whole one. Plus there are tons of "add ons" and dressings to choose from. My salad of choice? The Bistro - it's all sorts of taste bud amazingness with a touch of yummy protein (29 grams to be exact). Oh yeah, there is a nutrition guide on their website. Neato! I guess it's a little expensive, but I think you pay more for healthy fresh foods. I don't have any complaints. I think even the forks are environmentally friendly. Two thumbs up for this place. Also, "crack salad" is an accurate description - very addicting! Mmmmmm!
(4)Marisa M.
I really, really, really love make your own salad places, especially ones that chop and mix your salad for you. However, something is seriously lacking at Green Fine. (And do not even get me started about how stingy they are with their avocado!) The wait is never all that bad, the salad toss ins always look delicious, and the staff is quick and efficient, but somehow I end up disappointed with my salad every time. I have tried making my own and ordering off the menu and for some reason the salad never seems to be as good as the combination of the ingredients would warrant. I must be a glutton for punishment though because I have eaten here about a dozen times and am sure that I will be back yet again hoping that their salads will magically get better.
(3)Rebecca M.
I have been a Mad Greens junkie since I discovered it when they first opened downtown. Maybe 2 years?? I might have found my new love ( although the fact that they don't have a location outside of downtown means i will still frequent Mad Greens). I made my own salad, because I'm just too special for the menu. Not really, just can't make up my mind. Also, I was trying to replicate a salad I used to have at a place in Palm Springs. I started with a melange of bibb lettuce and mixed greens. Added shaved Parmesan, caramelized pecans, croutons and the star of the show bacon!! My dressing of choice....Caesar. I asked to sample theirs before I committed, they pleasantly obliged. If you have never had Caesar dressing that didn't come from a bottle at the store I urge you to run to Green Fine Salad and ask for a taste. Actually buy a salad. They might get mad if all sorts of lookie lous came in asking for samples. As I was nearing the end of my salad creating experience I gazed upon the "frizzled leeks". They were crispy little bits of heaven that I knew would complete my salad. I was so right. They were amazing. I could have a salad made with those instead of lettuce. The best part of Green Fine Salad and what truly sets them apart is the chopping of the salad. They lay your salad out on a cutting board and dice it just right with a double bladed mezzaluna. That's right, no embarrassing turtle eating a huge piece of lettuce moments. For a few moments I wasn't sure if I could eat my whole salad. Thankfully I had a great companion to keep me talking...and eating. They do not have two sizes like some other competitors, but I don't mind because the price is between the small and large at Mad Greens. I think they should change their name to Green Amazing Salad.
(5)Shiho F.
My co-worker Mike took me out to lunch one day and I was excited since I had been craving a good salad. I heart the concept of this place, think Chipotle. I had the Steak Salad with blue cheese crumbles and their version of ranch dressing since I think blue cheese dressing with blue cheese crumbles is a bit much. Mike ordered the Cobb Salad but he got it in a wrap instead of a bowl. He devoured it as anyone should. Mine was good but a bit too salty overall.
(3)Suzie A.
I love Mad Greens, and I loved the toppings here; but damn, the one on 16th & Arapahoe smells like hell. Definitely good for taking out and away.
(3)Alexandra F.
When I first moved to Denver I was working as a temp downtown. During my lunch breaks I was desperate and I was cold, and I needed to feel not so lonely as I ate lunch all by myself. My sad eyes roamed the depressing street of the 16th mall... And one day I stopped dead in my tracks and screamed, "Can somebody please tell me why I am here?" (Almost as lout as that other guy that screams on 16th street mall... You know, the one you can hear even 20 stories up?) Before I could bring my fits down from the air, an old hunched-over women came by my side and said, "Dear, there are some nice looking young boys inside that restaurant over there... They opened the door for me." As she waddled away I felt a feeling of hope as I headed over to this they call, Green Fine Salad. The line was long, but the wait was worth it... When I reached the front, I knew why I was here... I was here for the smorgasbord of yummy salad options that I could have by my side everyday. I could get as many salad buddies as I wanted, get charged more than I make in an hour, yet never feel lonely at lunch again.... Devouring my lunch outside in the park, I realized that GFS is here because he knows I need him. We have been together ever since... Although I hear he sees many other people, I pretend I don't know. Ignorance is bliss and so are the Steakhouse blue, Honey Dijon, Maple cider Vinaigrette, and Sesame ginger dressings. * Star one is for being a salad themed resteraunt theme in general... (Hint, a great place to pick up women) ** Star mista two is for their delivery service *** Spinach star numero three is for their huge array of dressings... I love dipping **** Our final and fourth star is for helping me not feel so lonely in this cold cold world
(4)Andrea E.
Oh my! Such a wonderful salad. Yes, it is a bit much to pay for a salad. Again, you get what you pay for. All salads are tasty, love the fact you can make revisions and substitutions with out extra cost. Line is long during lunch, just an attribute of a good restaurant.
(4)Emily E.
This is a great salad place, big portions and fresh filling ingredients! I wish they would have one of these in Chicago!
(4)Tammy D.
Excellent lunch spot downtown. Line may be out the door, but moves quickly. Fresh, healthy and delicious.
(4)Jessica W.
Hands down one of my favorite lunch spots downtown. The salads are thoughtfully and uniquely arranged. Or, if you prefer, you can create your own. The ingredients are super fresh, so I'm sure any combination would be tasty. Furthermore, any salad on the menu can be made into a "hand held" which is basically the salad wrapped in a hot, fresh grilled tortilla for those that want something a little more filling. Personally, I think this is the perfect amount of food. You leave satisfied but not feeling overly full, which makes Green the perfect spot for your lunch break from work or school. My favorite salad on the menu is the Sweet Baby- which is even more delicious with grilled shrimp.
