Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I think the Yelp caption, "Meh. I've experienced better", pretty perfectly sums up my opinion on this place. Ordered a Carpaciao pizza online and it came within the hour. It was still warm when it got here and there was red pepper and parm included. The taste, eh, it was definitely edible just not remarkable. Overpriced for the quality. They should probably start offering things like spicy ranch alongside their pizza; it's the kind of pizza that could use some spicy ranch! I wouldn't refuse to order from here again, but there are so many other delivery places that can do better, even late at night.

This place will take your order, not deliver it, and still try to charge you. All these negative reviews are not a coincidence. Everyone who has had this happen should contact their credit card companies and dispute the charge, this will get you your money back and cause them to have to pay a fee.

We placed an order for a sub and calzone, and were given a 45-60minute wait time for delivery. When I called an hour into waiting, we were told the delivery car was only a couple blocks away but that we needed to wait 20 more minutes. Two hours after placing the order I called again, and was told the delivery car was back at their restaurant, having never delivered our food. I then told them to cancel the order, as it was now 2am and we were not willing to wait longer after the terrible service. When our call came in to inform them of the poor service, we were offered a 20% discount on our next order, but there will be no further ordering from this restaurant. There was no care to correct the 2 hour wait with no food and no information, the only blasé responses we got was When I placed the call and was told to wait longer. There is poor, if any communication, and no regard for customer service.

This place is awful. STAY AWAY. 1)The pizza took an hour and 40 min to get delivered 2) The small 'dinner salad' was iceburg and an old tomato on it 3) the Garlic Bread was a tiny 5 inch piece of dough and the sauce it came with tasted more like salsa than maranara 4) Because of number 1, I was supposed to not get charged, as they assured me on the phone, but they charged me anyways. STAY AWAY!

I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. I saw the name and thought it was the Fampous pizza on Broadway, which I have liked, in the past. I ordered pizza with extra cheese as a topping and both pizza had barely any cheese on them. They also had almost no sauce. They were three topping pizzas and came with almost no toppings, in general. When you order a pepperoni pizza, you kind of expect to get a pizza that has more than three pieces of pepperoni on the whole pie. The delivery guy was really weird and awkward too. He opened the delivery bag and asked me to pull the pies out, but I was holding the door open. As I struggled to deal with the door and try to take the pizzas out of the bag, I looked up and he was just standing there staring at me letting me struggle. It was SO strange. I had to ask him to hold the door so I could get the boxes out of his warming bag. Definitely won't order here again.

One of the dirtiest and foul smelling places I have ever seen. I used to eat there years ago when they were close to downtown and it was a Capital Hill staple. Now that they are in this location, you can see mice running around the place, food and dirt all over the floor, and mess everywhere. The food is bland and not sure if it hasn't expired. Even driving by sometimes the smell makes me sick from across the street. You can so better at just about any place than this crap hole.

Well, I have ordered from here more than once - and it's not the quality of the pizza I question, but rather the management and out-and-out FRAUD! I ordered two pizzas on 7/5 of this year, and they charged me the appropriate amount - AND THEN THEY PUT ANOTHER CHARGE THROUGH FOR $25.00!!!! Without warrant, without merit, and when it posted on to my bank, ON 7/11, it seemed clear to me that it was done PURPOSEFULLY. So, I called on 7/14 and was told BY THE MANAGER, "Oh, that happens all the time, we'll refund you money in 2-3 business days." REALLY, you charge people for orders THEY NEVER MADE and wait for them to call to get a refund? REALLY, THAT'S CALLED FRAUD!

Do yourself a favor, steer clear of this soggy pizza coupled with bad service. There's absolutely nothing special about this place. Placed an order for delivery at 7:54pm and it arrived around 8:40pm. Okay so that's not too bad even though it's Tuesday night. The pizza is average at best, pretty soggy even they obviously attempted to fulfill my request for a crispy pizza. It had maybe 3 or 4 jalapeno's on it, that's a deal breaker right there. I would only order from this place again if I have completely exhausted all other surrounding pizza joints and they all fail miserably and even then, I really doubt I would. Oh yeah and I asked for crushed peppers and parmesan cheese but when the delivery girl came her response to that was "yeah......they didn't give those to me." Hard to explain the snide tone she made but I felt like she actually meant to say "no one get's those, @#$ hole" which was reflected in her $1 tip. Shame, had four other bills waiting for her but even $1 was too much.

Soggy food. Average prices. Weekday delivery took two hours. Definitely get the wings if you want to try one of the five worst on the Front Range! They make an edible gyro, which might have been pretty good if it hadn't sat around for a couple hours. At least the food was warm...then again it was 90 degrees so that probably helped...it's a big city so you can probably find worse, but they're fighting for a spot!

Danger. Danger, Will. The pizza's non-descript (blah sauce and tastes like cheese substitute), but the truly disturbing thing is I've walked past this place and on more than one occasion (wrongly) concluded that it had been closed down by the Health Dept or abandoned. Dirty work surfaces and piled up stuff on the floor put this place at the top of my restaurant fear factor list.

Edible pizza, but nothing to write home about. In fact, I didn't really feel it was worthy of a review, but somebody keeps hounding me to "write more," so here go it's three stars. I don't think this is an eat-in establishment. Strictly delivery. A couple of things would really help this little establishment out. 1) Get a better phone. The one they're using from --apparently-- 1964 puts so much static on the line, I am amazed I was able to complete a conversation. 2) Put some spice in their red sauce. After ordering the breadsticks, I momentarily thought that someone had mischieviously replaced my "marinara" with parsley-sprinkled tomato substitute.
(3)Sasha S.
Good and greasy, New York Style pie. I had to hold back a stars because the pizza is not usually ready when they say it will be, which means I end up sitting in their dirty storefront waiting for the pie. Maybe delivery is better, but I don't like what happens to pizza crust when it drives around to other peoples houses first::-) If you feel like having non-traditional toppings, try the Buffalo chicken pizza, How do you make pizza more fattening? Why, dip it in blue cheese dressing, of course!. See you on the treadmill. I'll be the one with the jiggly arse.
(3)Adam H.
f**king awful!! only appeal is that they are open late for drunk people! The food was disgusting and the pizza looked like it was made by a homeless method head. I threw it away and will never order from them again.

Not good food stay away from this horrible place.. Crapy customer service crapy food.. Crapy everything.. The only good about this place was the cashier lady who was totally nice other than that one of the worst places I've ordered from

We had pizza delivered to work from Famous Pizza & Subs yesterday for a party. While this wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, I don't think it's as bad as some of the reviews are making it out to be. The crust is super-thin and crispy-- not quite Brooklyn caliber, but I'll give them points for effort, since they managed to make a thin crust that wasn't soggy or burnt to charcoal. The cheese and sauce weren't standouts but got the job done. I had a slice of the combo (pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers), the white pizza (olive oil and ricotta base with fresh tomatoes), and the Athens (artichokes and olives on a base similar to the white pizza), and all three were tasty. The delivery guy was friendly, and managed to not kill anybody while walking around with a dozen pizzas stacked so high he couldn't see where he was going, so that's a plus. It arrived on time and stayed hot until the party started, so it was definitely made fresh. I wouldn't go out of my way for pizza here, but I wouldn't say no if you ordered one for me, either.

Worst experience with a restaurant ever. My friends and i ordered $45 worth of food at 2am, and with a tip, taxes, and delivery charge, it came out to be about $60. The food was already paid for through grubhub. I never received the food that night. When I called the restaurant that night, no one answered. I called the next day to tell them that the food was never delivered, and they said that the delivery driver delivered the food. The delivery driver never delivered the food!!! Or he delivered it to people who claimed they were me! I told them I wanted to speak to a manager and they said the manager would get back to me. He never did, so I went into the restaurant a few days later. I asked to see the signed receipt from my order to see the handwriting of my signature. I was told to leave my name and number so the manager could get back to me because all of the files are in his office. He never contacted me. I called again, and the employee said "he's not in right now - oh wait, he's coming in right now" and put me on hold. She picked up the phone again and said she was mistaken and he wasn't actually there. I understand that they can't prove that I wasn't the one that received the food and that I could just be trying to scam them for free food. I get that. But the fact that they ignored me over and over again gives me the feeling that there is something really shady going on. Bottom line: I paid $60 for food I never received and was never contacted by management to talk about it, even after several attempts. I can't believe that this is OK.

Too bad there's not an option for 0 stars. This is the worst delivery we've ever had. We ate two of the wings and both of them we found were undercooked after taking a bite. we are very unhappy with the quality of the food that we ordered and will never order here again be careful the chicken wings cause you to get sick. Barf!
(1)Alicia P.
Super sketchy..I think the delivery guy was doing drug deals in between pizza deliveries. Also, we got a nasty looking side salad when we were supposed to get garlic rolls with our pizza. The deliver time was almost twice as long as they quoted... Don't go here, order from Ian's!
(1)Teagan M.
Literally the worst pizza experience of my life. I order one of THEIR specialty pizzas with Tomatos and Spinach added. They send me a cheese pizza with ONLY the Tomatos and spinach. Not any of the toppings listed as part of the pizza I ordered. I call and politely let them know there was a mistake. "Well we won't be able to remake your pizza for 2 hours." I tell them I will wait. I call back after 2 hours and tell them of the situation and what the manager told me, and the guy replies "well I was here then I don't remember that." Then puts the phone down, not on hold, while he takes other orders. I CAN HEAR HIM TAKING OTHER ORDERS! I wait 15 minutes. Finally I hang up. Dial, No answer. Try again, no answer, I try for an hour, no answer. I paid 25 bucks for a pizza I didn't get... I will be calling again tomorrow.

Ordered from this place thru Grubhub and never got my food! Waited over 2 hours and when I called to check on the status no one answered. Don't order from here ever.
(1)Marli A.
this place is disgusting. ordered their "cheesesteak submarine" which turned out to be over-cooked dry steak in a pita with melted mozzarella cheese on it. the cheeseburger was this mis-shapen meatball looking thing that had been burnt to a crisp. It was bland and gross. I would avoid at all costs. Nasty
(1)Michael L.
I wish I could give this place negative 10 stars. By far the worst place I've ever ordered food from . How can a restaurant owner think this is ok ? Waited 2 hours , pizza was disgusting , barely any sauce , all dough . Chili cheese fries were a joke. A small handful of fries with 2 scoops of chili from the local dump. The best part were the wings, feathers all on the wing, they gave us the end of the wing, the wing "literally" . I hope you don't treat your family as bad as you treat your customers . This place is a scam.
(1)Monica J.
Ordered tonight for delivery through grub hub. Waited over an hour. Delivery never came. Called by grub hub- foods outside. Open front door, nothing. Walk out to the covered parking in back, nothing. Call grub hub, they say delivery driver left and can't come back out. Shouldn't be allowed on grub hub if they can't deliver.
(1)Kate S.
Ordered take out burger and salad, cheesecake and a falafel gyro. Estimated delivery time was 40 minutes. Food finally showed up after 2 hours elapsed. Gross/rotting side salad in the falafel combo. Fries instead of the salad with the burger. Onions on the burger though special ordered without. No cheesecake showed, just some cannoli (which we tried, and it was disgusting). All of the food that was supposed to be hot was cold. Rude delivery guy. Basically the worst delivery experience ever. And the meals tasted bland, soggy, and mehhh.
(1)Meg Z.
Pizza showed up cold and undercooked, we got 2 chicken tenders (burnt and cold) and fries (burnt and cold) Took forever to get our food. Also told yes you can have a refund now they are refusing to give one and telling us to take it to court if we don't like it and hung up on is. STAY AWAY!
(1)Nikki H.
Absolutely awful!!!! Stay away from this place like the plague. The delivery took an hour and a half. They forgot part of the order. The pizza was cold and looked old. The calzone was soggy. All in all the food was just bad. When asked if we could just have a refund we were denied. We then went up to the place with all of the uneaten food to just be told to bad. Worst business running I have ever come across. We paid $50 for pizza that we left there, if that tells you how bad this place is. Giving them one star is too much but you have to. Don't waste your time or money on this place. The owner is unprofessional and just steals your money! Give your business elsewhere.
(1)Aaron A.
Hole in the wall that's easy to miss if you're not alert when driving past. But you can never have enough pizza places in the neighborhood when you're hungry. Smell and taste reminded me of Cici's (and that's a place I like), but pricier of course. Price for the size (NY style thin crust) that you get is on par with Anthony's, so honestly, you should just opt for Anthony's. Though sometimes an Anthony's just isn't close enough, so until they put one on East Colfax, this will do. Honestly, it's nothing special, but it's still good pizza.
(3)Alx N.
I'll never order from this place again. The delivery time was slow; over an hour. The food looked old and was luke warm. My garlic bread was barely covered with a piece of foil (slightly bothersome). The taste of the food was bland. I ordered sopapillas and got cinnamon and sugar covered donuts with maple syrup to dip them in, gross!
(1)Carrie S.
Good pizza. Great service. The baklava rivals that found in metro Detroit which is great what with all the folks there relocated from the middle east. Yummy.
(4)James H.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! It is the rare experience that makes me want to give an establishment zero stars. Rather than getting into details about the two and a half hour wait time for the delivery and the poor (and lukewarm to the point of throwing it away) quality of the food when it finally got here, I am going to comment on the absolutely poor customer service. After an hour and forty five minutes, I called this establishment to ask why the food is taking so long. The individual on the phone said "well, it's the weather, but it should be there any second now. If the food isn't fresh when it arrives, give us a call right back." After another 45 minutes, the food finally arrived. No apologies from the delivery guy; in fact, after he handed us the food (in a King Soopers bag!), he ran back to the elevator without comment. The food was lukewarm, the amount we ordered was less than expected. As requested, we called back and told the same person about the food and the time it took to get here. Instead of being courteous, the person on the phone said "well, what do you want us to do? We're the only place open and you got your food, so you'll just have to deal with it." I responded "you asked us to call back if the food was of poor quality, and we did". and the person said "well that's just too bad. We got our money, you got your food, and if you don't like it, f***ing deal with it and don't call back, b****" and then hung up the phone on us. Never have I dealt with such rudeness and unaccountability for delayed food that was of poor quality, followed by rudeness to the point of verbal abuse. Stay clear away from this establishment and do not ever order food from here. Your money is better spent on gas station food.
(1)Travis C.
Hands down the worst pizza place I have ever had. I received a coupon on my door for a $16 xxlarge one topping pizza. I ordered this and a small order of wings (I was really just craving wings). The total came out to 26 something (31 with tip). The wings tasted like something out of a grocery store with some sauce slapped on it. The pizza was the grossest thing I have ever tried, had half a piece then threw the rest away. Avoid this place at all costs.
(1)Adela A.
BAD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, OVERPRICED. It took over an hour for our food to be delivered and then they forgot out French fries which they said they would bring back and didn't. Be warned, when a restaurant doesn't tell you what is in the salad it means its going to come with nothing. Wish I had read the other reviews before ordering. AVOID THIS SPOT.
(1)Steve S.
Early warning! Don't get confused as I did and think this was the actual "Famous Pizza" that I've come to know and love. Still, the pizza is decent, but not nearly as good as the Famous Pizza on Colfax closer to downtown. The delivery time was slow (promised 25 min, actual 1 hr). They are definately more friendly on the phone that the "other" Famous Pizza. Apparently there is some battle between the two. The delivery driver filled me in on the juicy details. If you want "famous" pizza, leave off the "& subs" and you'll be happy with your choice.
(3)Sarina E.
I can barely bring myself to give it one star. Not even a quarter, but here it goes. My first Yelp review, and it's not a good one. Stumbling upon this place on GrubHub, I decided to give it a try. Why not, right? My food got here before they said it would, so I was pretty excited to see what I got. The first thing I pulled up was the cheesecake. Opening it, I noticed something that makes an avid chef (like me) cringe: it was still frozen. I don't know what's worse: willingly selling a guest frozen cheesecake or not even having the decency to try to up-sell something that wasn't frozen. The second thing was the jalapeno poppers. I love jalapeno poppers, and these were halfway decent: still hot in the center, the right cream cheese to jalapeno ratio. I would give the place one star just based solely on those, because though they weren't too special (no magical strip of bacon or anything), I can't complain about them. What I can complain about is the chicken pita sandwich. I know what you're thinking... "Why would you get a pita sandwich at an Italian place??" It was on the menu, and it was the only thing left since I originally ordered a falafel sandwich. Anyway, I open it up, and sigh at the contents: chicken, in a pita, with two kinds of sauces and a greek salad. This looked promising (minus the presentation, but I'm a chef, so ignore that bit.) I first dug into the sandwich after pouring the tzatziki sauce on top, only to realize that I bit into an exceptionally soggy pita. Spitting it out, I poured the chicken out of and just ate that (Which had too much lemon and salt for my taste). So here I am, still hungry, eating my now thawed out cheesecake, wishing I would have bought from Allegra's on Oneida. I know one thing, I'm not eating from this place again.
(1)LaShaunda H.
i've only ordered from here once last night and it was terrible. first it almost took 2 hrs to rcv the food then i ordered the chicken parm pasta and the chicken was grilled with some weird seasoning....i thought chicken parm was breaded. and i also ordered the sopapillas and they mistook the salt for the sugar...meaning they were covered with SALT and cinnamon. ugh!
(1)Adrian C.
Honestly the worst food and delivery service ever. The restaurant itself is only 11 minutes from our house. But delivery service always takes them over an hour to deliver even sandwiches. The food always comes colder than Winter in Siberia. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Horrible food and horrible service.
(1)Tom L.
That was easily in the top 5 worst pizzas I've ever had. I love pizza. I usually order a large for myself and have it over a few days. Even bad pizza is fine. I was hungry enough to get two slices down, but the rest is going in the trash. As if that wasn't enough, they were over 30 minutes late on the delivery. Their online ordering is pretty clunky, but it worked. 40 minutes later I called to see if maybe there was a problem or something and the lady just abruptly said "Yeah! It's on it's way!" and hung up. A full hour after ordering, the guy finally shows up, nowhere near where I'd put in the comments, but fine. Mistakes happen. I just moved in and found out that they paper the hallways of this complex with flyers. If I would have known, I would have avoided them. It was bad enough that after years of using Yelp, I actually signed up for an account and this is my first review. Horrible. Inedible. Nothing good about them.
