Having visited Europa a few times in the past when I moved just around the corner I knew I would be visiting regularly. Great coffee, great tea, even greater atmosphere. The service is fast and the breakfast/lunch treats are tasty. To find a quant little spot where the vibe is fun and the services provided are recognizable is rare these days. Huge fan of Europa!

I used to LOVE this place. It is quickly going down hill. The last three times I have gone I have had the worst experiences. Twice they forgot my food and once they had a hair in it. They didn't even apologize. What's going on with this place? Two stars only because of the location. Horrible service.

Let's get the obvious out of the way. This is hipster central. If City O' City's atmosphere/culture isn't your thing this probably wouldn't be yours. That being said though... The service was very friendly and fast! I ordered the huevos rancheros- eggs over easy. Portion was generous I was more than full. Potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly. With my meal I got a kombucha drink. Overall the drink was $4.50 meal was $7.50 total was about $12. Not bad!

I am in love with my neighborhood coffee shop! I love that when I'm running late and dont have time to make a pot of coffee, Europa comes to my rescue. I have been here multiple times and every time is consistent. The location is great, it's located at Pennsylvania and Bayaud. The ambiance is very artsy and feels that of a small town coffee shop. The clientele is a mix bag that ranges from neighborhood folks, artist types, and people working on their laptops. There is a lot of seating, inside and out. The service has been ok. It's nothing to rave about. The guy that works in the kitchen and brings me my breakfast sandwich is usually more friendly than the baristas. Now to rave about the food and coffee. I have had their breakfast sandwich, scones, and this one time I went for lunch and had a grilled cheese panini. The bread on the panini was really, really hard but that has been my only complaint so far. The coffee is awesome and I also love the chai(iced and hot). I love that they have a couple different kinds of kombucha as well. Love this place and the atmosphere and I'm happy it's so close!

Cute neighborhood coffee shop with a cozy-hipster feel, decent food, and good coffee. I went for breakfast on a weekend and waited ~10 minutes to order (you order at the counter then they bring your food to you). Then probably another 10 to get my food. Thy do have full breakfast - toast, eggs, sandwiches, bacon, etc and I think their prices are reasonable. I would not recommend this as a destination for breakfast only as it gets really crowded and seats are limited. I ate my meal outside on a drizzly day.

  • Brooks A.

Incompetent staff with awful service. Sat around and waited for order for 45 minutes, they said they would fix it and then we sat around for another 45 minutes. Foods ok and coffee is good, not a lot of caring about the customer takes place here.

I've been coming to this place for years now and still have nothing bad to say about it. It's a delight to have such a nice, authentic neighborhood coffee house to walk to. But, I don't come for the coffee... Their breakfast is where it's at. I've never strayed far from their Europa Burrito and have never been disappointed. This place makes me happy :)

In love with my neighborhood coffee shop. Delicious coffee and the food is fantastic. I generally stick to the eggs, but their curried chicken salad sandwich was the shit. Baristas are personable and usually there's great music playing... Could be a Beastie Boys record, obscure alt, or country depending on their moods. Great place to sit outside with your dog on a typical beautiful Colorado day. Neighborhood is friendly and you can strike up a conversation with just about anyone there.

  • Darika S.

Not a bad coffee shop. I got a hot tea, which calmed me from the busy day. The lady up front was nice and I even got a free muffin from another customer because they were day olds. I could concentrate on my work for the most part, though I remember the music changing in volume and in type for the hour I was there. That was a little annoying. Plenty of tables in and outside, a few couches and cushy chairs. The muffin was pretty tasty, I think it was a cranberry one. Still moist and it was giant. It wasn't too busy when I went so I'm not sure how loud this place can get. I'm willing to go again and try some other food, their menu is a decent size for a coffee shop.

  • Holly B.

I've been here several times because it is in my neighborhood. Great coffee, tea, and food. Service could be friendlier. My biggest complaint is the volume of the music, which sounded like a Snoop Dog Spotify radio station today. I would not suggest this place if you are trying to get work done or need to focus in any way (which is what I was looking for today) but it would be a good place to meet up with a friend and do some people watching (but not talk too much because you'd have to yell over the music).

  • Abigail B.

The burrito that I had smothered with green chili, was great! My latte was delicious but could have been hotter. The place was very busy, but not bothersome and you could easily have a conversation. I was really put-off by the cashier, she was bitchy and rude...probably because I was dressed to go on a run and not the latest hipster chic. I was polite, tipped ( wish I hadn't) and when I thanked her, she just stared at me. Um, thanks

My favorite coffeehouse in Denver, and I've visited a lot in the last three years (while writing my dissertation). Perfect mix of the essentials: great drinks, friendly service, comfy seating, inspiring and relaxing ambience. Awesome location too. Worth a visit !

This a good example of the eclectic independent coffee places one can find in and around Denver. I went with my standard beverage, and it was just fine. The flavor was good, and balanced. The price was what one would expect. The inside was a touch humid on this visit, and there were couple faintly unpleasant odors underlying the lovely coffee aromas. This may be nitpicking (yes it definitely is), but the overly loud cacophonous Jazz music being played while I was there was interfering with my quiet enjoyment of my premium coffee beverage. This caused me to leave sooner than I would have preferred. For me, this was the aural equivalent of smoke being blown in my face while I am trying to enjoy a beer.

Always good coffee. Can get a little packed on weekends which makes things take a little longer but the atmosphere is great and there is tons of outdoor seating

I love this little spot. It has fantastic tea. The bolder breakfast is addicting. The breakfast food is lovely and not overpriced. I like that you can sit outside. It's a neighborhood place. Smaller and one of my favs. Three cheers

  • Gretchen F.

Good coffee and breakfast. Convenient and nice local spot. Staff is not overly friendly, there's the cliche surly barista behind the counter who will glare at you for coming in, but will also make you a decent cup of coffee.

  • Kate L.

I actually like the food more than the espresso. The hobo hash is delicious and the perfect breakfast blend of veggies, protein and starch. Opt for the daily burrito if you're ready for a major meal. The baked goods are hit or miss. I've had delicious, moist and flavorful scones and muffins, and dry, forgettable scones and muffins. Indoor seating is plentiful and usually available, including chairs and tables, couches, and window seating. Warm weather includes outdoor seating on the sidewalk. The espresso and caffeine options are fully stocked and expected, but you'll wait for some time if there's a line ahead of you. On the weekends, expect a crowd of DU students, locals, the occasional noisy child.

My local coffee shop and they have very good lattes, chais and a nice atmosphere. Used this place while job hunting and it was very good to just do some work too. Occasionally there will be some strange music or a rude/indifferent barista and when it's slammed the food can take a while but the smothered burrito is amazing and I won't stop coming here.

  • Kamryn C.

Cute, neighborhood coffee shop. I've been on a few visits and some things stay consistent- good coffee, slow food service, and crowds. They recently changed their menu, and while this one offers more choices as its a build your own format, the original was much more exciting. I'll come back for coffee, but the food doesn't particularly seem worth it.

Visiting from out of town. Wanted to find closest non-chain coffee house. This place is perfect! Served amaZing spiced iced chai tea. A very good sized iced chai for price. Excellent! Great atmosphere. Friendly service. Healthy & flavorful menu, I'll eat there next time. Dog friendly!

Love this place for weekend or work-from-home breakfast. I've been hooked on their breakfast burrito smothered with green chile. Food prep/delivery is a little slow, but I always find the wait worth it. The potatoes inside are crispy, seasoned, and part of a perfect cheese to egg ratio. (Very important to the breakfast burrito connoisseurs out there) The green chile is a perfect house made compliment with a good level of heat. I've been comparing coffee types to wine lately and Europa cafe's espresso americano has a rich coco flavor that puts it in a high end cabernet sauvignon category of coffees for me. Def one of my top go-tos. If I'm in the mood for a zin style coffee I hit up Wash Perk if that helps in comparison at all.

My previous review still holds true however I'm changing it to 1 star because they overcharged me. Just seeing it now on my bank account. Guess they included a tip I never included or signed for. They will never have my business again and I really hope others see what type of place this is. There are too many independently owned coffee shops in Denver that are honest and good people. This is not one of them.

  • Candace F.

Again I am left baffled as to why it is ok for hairy arm pitted women to be allowed to handle my food?!? Do not wear sleeveless shirts with hairy arm pits (male or female) and handle food. I am unsure why this has become an accepted practice for women when it certainly is not for men... Either way it's unacceptable, and raises serious sanitation questions. Ok off my soap box. The coffee is really good and the food was good and in general a great atmosphere. Just please wear sleeves with your hairy pits when working around food.

  • Justin P.

Great Coffee (They usually serve Pablo) and great tea (They usually serve TeaSpot tea. Food is also good because things are made to order, such as breakfast burrito. It sometimes takes a while, but that is the price you pay unless you want a shitty microwaved morning meal! Recommend it!

One of my fave breakfast, coffee, wifi.. The food is delicious..love the bayside sandwich with gluten free bread. Great coffee. Lots if street parking.

Neat local coffee shop, very spacious, plenty of tables. Best (strongest) Chai Tea Latte I've ever had! Music was a bit loud for conducting business, but the place has a very hipster vibe so it's fitting. I'd definitely go back if in the area.

Please change your website to reflect your appropriate hours. Came hear to do work because your website says you're open till 8pm. Got a coffee, sat down to work, and then shortly after was told you close at 6pm. Seems like a great spot. Just wish I had known because wouldn't have drove down here.

I really dig this place. Yes, I just used the term 'dig' but that's the feeling I get once I step foot inside. It's groovy and words like 'dig' and 'zen' and 'chill' come to mind. Every step of the coffee ordering process has a very calm and mellow pace to it. It's not slow - there's just not the sense of 'coffee house rush' that we all know too well. This is, instead, a place to get lost in a book, a conversation, or perhaps - in someone's eyes? Okay - that was cheesy, but sometimes things can't be resisted. It's as if the ambiance reflects the charming, sleepy nature of the charming Wash Park street on which it resides. The coffee is good, but the food is actually what draws me in. They serve a hearty burrito smothered in green chili that is definitely a contender in best coffee house burrito. There's also copious seating with various selections of seating arrangements. Solo? You're cool. With a group of buds? There's couches. Want to maybe fall asleep by yourself listening to your iPod? There's cozy chairs.

Wonderful neighborhood coffee spot. It is not designed to be a drive through:) so don't expect Starbucks wait time. The food is great and the coffee delicious. A nice place to meet a friend or get a few things done on your laptop.

  • Carolyn M.

Great neighborhood coffee and breakfast spot. Service is not super-speedy, but the breakfast food is worth the wait. I had a sandwich of some sort with egg and brie on an English muffin - YUM. It's a really big coffee shop, so there is a lot of seating, both inside and out. A few too many obnoxious dogs on the patio, but that's anywhere you go in Denver.

    (4)
  • Ryan U.

Nice little coffee shop to add to the battalion of Denver coffee shops. Unpretentious place to spread out and do work, have lunch, have a coffee date. It has a pretty good size front patio section to sit and relaxing in the sun with your dog/girlfriend.

  • Ryan W.

The food is great. The coffee is great as well. Only problem I see is the quantity of ingredients inside our burritos are inconsistent. On different occasions we have ordered burritos with bacon; sometimes we get a piece of whole bacon inside and other times we get a quarter piece chopped up. The food isn't always consistent but it's still really good. Still, I couldn't recommend them without knowing what the food will taste like every time.

  • Sarah Beth T.

I absolutely love this neighborhood coffee shop. The coffee is great and the breakfast is delicious. My go-to order is an egg scramble with all the fixins- they have a good list of cheese meats and veggies you can add. My boyfriend had the chicken salad sandwhich for lunch recently and enjoyed it- I believe it was curry chicken which it a different spin on the classic. The atmosphere is very inviting with the large windows and fresh plants- I have spent several hours studying here while I have also enjoyed breakfast with friends. Definitely don't skip out on this great local business!

  • Christian H.

I've come here for years and years... I love the space and the food, but the coffee has extremely let me down the last few visits. Now don't get me wrong, I am not expecting a two gallon jug of coffee however, I ordered a cup of coffee and it was the same size as the Dixie cups of a junior high dance I had chaperoned the night before. For $4 I had a soy hot cocoa that was literally six sips...It just seems like they have gotten a bit big for their britches on the pricing...well, unless you like paying 75 cents a sip....and maybe you do. This review is based on coffee and not food at all.

  • Emily R.

Really great food. The service is good too (though sometimes the staff acts a little "too cool" to be friendly). There's a nice seating area outside. I'm not a coffee drinker but the tea is delicious.

  • Elizabeth K.

Great spot. Have been several times, always gotten a hot or cold chai. Love the vibe and the decor of the place, but the staff is a bit aloof. This place gets super crowded weekend mornings so may want to go during the week or later in the day. Will definitely go again!

    (4)
  • Jackie R.

Cafe Europa: I like your style, I like your moves. But sometimes you make me feel like I'm an outsider with my peppiness and synthetic clothing...what with the baristas' laid back attitude and the impossibly cool decor. The chai tea is great here. Food is a bit expensive, but I once ordered a sandwich and it was ginormous. I like how convenient it is for folks in this part of the neighborhood and that it feels like it's part of the community. They also have some good art in there for sale too!

Found this place today and I am loving it! Good music, good coffee, very friendly staff. Had a gluten free english muffin that was actually very good. The food they are cooking smells awesome and I will definitely be back to try out their menu. They have lots of seating and quite a few outlets for your devices. I will definitely be back.

I came in here on my birthday after very carefully selecting it off of Yelp, and I have to say I was very disappointed. I got one of the most "meh" cappuccinos I've ever had..... I mean really... I've had better at Starbucks. The raspberry scone was a redeeming factor, however, as it was incredible. The patio could definitely use some sprucing up. There's nothing green or pleasant.... just a giant slab of concrete with some rickety tables.... and when I walked in it smelled completely of body odor. I was hesitant to even order, and couldn't wait to leave. What a waste of my birthday coffee treat to myself. :/

    (2)

Total mistake in changing the menu. The delicious breakfast burritos are still available but you have to know what goes inside to order it.

  • Austin B.

These guys are clueless when it comes to customer service. Rude. Absent minded. Brash. Inconsiderate. Slow. The girl in front of me in line asked "Is this my double?". Barrista: "Yeah." So she took it outside and started to drink it. 3 minutes later the barrista came out, said,"this isn't your coffee" and took it. Didn't ask if she wanted another one, didn't ask if she'd prefer to just drink it, didn't wait for her to make eye contact... Just reached in front of her face and snagged it. He also didn't bother to tell her that she'd have to go back inside to pick up her newly made coffee, or that he'd be happy to make her a new one (he wasn't). Fortunately I had plenty of time to watch the whole exchange because I ordered drip coffee which is tough to screw up, and because I ordered a breakfast burrito that took about 22 minutes to get made. Not going to hurry back. Food tastes great, but it can't mask the sour taste left by the employees.

  • Amy O.

Man on man. I am constantly on the search for a coffee shop that serves more than premade breakfast burritos until they run out. This place has a great, cozy environment where I could see myself posting up for hours upon hours because, that's right, they have an AWESOME food menu. I could hardly decide between their tempting breakfast and sandwich options. I will definitely be a frequent customer here.

    (5)
  • Lindsay W.

They have terrible coffee and the service is horrendous. I wait for a breakfast burrito for 45 minutes here! The waiters are some of the worst I have ever seen, and they will ignore you if you irritate them enough.

Honestly the best lattes I've ever had. Either iced or hot -- try 'em out!

  • Jordan J.

Was in town to visit a friend and she had school work so I agreed to tag along. What a fun and eclectic place! The mood was mellow but not boring, the atmosphere was positive, and wow, the breakfast burrito looked amazing! I was just reading a book, people watching, and journaling and wouldn't have wanted to do it anywhere else! There was a snow storm and the owner announced that she was closing early to make sure her staff got home safely. While I was sad to leave, I appreciate a local businesswoman who is willing to watch out for her staff and do the right thing. It made me realize why the staff was so friendly and were dancing to the music, they loved their jobs! Great place, thanks for existing!

The customer service at this local coffee spot is great. The food is just the right amount of goodness and healthiness, plus they offer a variety of non-dairy options for their superbly brewed jolts of espresso and coffee.

  • Cyn C.

This cute cafe has everything you need to make it your "office" for the day. Caffeine of all varieties, food (including all day breakfast), and friendly staff. There's even a few tables outside for when it's nice outside. Parking is oretty plentiful. Tables inside are at a premium, but there's a bar and a community table, too. Great place to meet up with someone for a cuppa.

Classic diner style breakfast. Bacon was crispy but not burnt and well seasoned. Eggs were equally perfect.

  • Pam G.

There are a lot of great things about this place, the food is priced well and tastes great, nice and fun staff, good coffee. However, it is getting two stars because it has a few big downsides. 1. The music is way too loud. Everyone in the coffee shop is working or having a conversation and the music is something you have to talk over. My sister and I asked them to turn it down but they obviously didn't. It does not fit the atmosphere at all. Beautiful old building on a slow street with a lovely tree, and punk rock music blasting. I tried to ignore it but every time it's the same thing. 2. Major flies. Not just one or two, but ten. I'm not that stinky, I'm sure! Again, this has been at least three times I've come. Not sure what they can do about that:/. Just a bummer.

the good - nice space good food the not so good - male barista wearing a tank top with his nappy hair tufting out of it. not exactly appetizing to look at on a Sunday am. dude we get that you are "fabulous" but have some courtesy and cover that nasty sh*t up. nobody wants to see your gross chest

    (3)
  • Jon L.

Great coffee. The worst staff. They are so rude and Condescending, especially the Lenny Kravitz lookalike, what a DB. I tell everyone I can to avoid this cafe at all costs. There are plenty of other choices in and around Denver. The food is ok, but overpriced. It takes an average of 30 minutes to get your food, and when you politely ask where the food is, you get the look of death. The music is way too loud and they will not turn it down because the staff doesn't give s sh** about their customers.

I was a regular customer for many years. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. I hadn't had negative experiences with any of the baristas or the cooks. Everyone had been civil, friendly, provided good service and overall seemed like decent people. My gripe is with one particular person on the staff. I had such a terrible experience with my order that I will never return. For years, I had been ordering one particular dish that is basically vegan except for the wheat toast (theirs has milk). The last couple of visits, I haven't received toast when I ordered it with my meal but a tortilla instead. This particular cook went off on me when I mentioned that I ordered toast, saying that I ordered it wrong. I hadn't had an issue with this until recently, and I'm not sure why it became one. After the cook finished going off and brought out the toast, the barista who took my order went back into the kitchen. I then overhead the cook loudly berating me in the kitchen from my seat, which anyone could hear from the tables close to the front counter. I told the barista I didn't want to cause a such a problem by making an order and it would be best for me not to return in the future. And so I won't. Again, I've never had a problem with anyone else who works there (including the others who were on staff at the time) and I really liked the place. I made the order countless times in the past without issue, and I've always left a tip for it. But that experience was so disappointing and uncomfortable that I'm done with the place.

Dear Cafe Europa, I'm cutting you loose. I've tried you many times and you disappoint me time and time again. Now don't get me wrong, you have awesome food for sure! Great breakfast! And I suppose your coffee isn't horrible. But I need to break up with you because it's too noisy in there, all your tables are crowded and wobbly, the floor and tables shake like crazy when people walk around (which is basically nonstop), and your employees stress me out with how often they're yelling names for food orders. I don't know how anyone gets any work done in there. Best of luck, sorry I had to let you go. -V

Went in at opening time (6) to grab a bagel and coffee and to download email and work for a few hours. I was told after trying for a while that their email was "on a timer because people were stealing it" and didn't come on until 7. Wtf? Not sure why a coffee house, where wifi is a customer expectation wouldn't have it on during all operating hours. When I told the barista that I needed a to go cup so I could go somewhere with wifi, he actually snickered. Never going back due to his poor attitude. Too many great shops in Denver to have to suffer there again...

Why oh why did it take me 2 years to discover this place?! 2 years wasted. My new favorite coffee shop. After my first visit on a Monday, I returned on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday..yes 4x in one week. What sets this place apart from the others? The amazing food. Even if you hate coffee, go for the food & drink a water. This is not your regular ole coffee shop pastry, heat a burrito in the microwave. This is fresh egg/Brie/spinach/avocado sandwiches, smoked salmon bagels, burritos, omelettes, granola, etc. I'm not even going to tell you what The Destroyer is. So yeah, lots of awesome items for your belly. Good, strong coffee..pretty standard prices. Great variety of seating..tables to study/work, couch to read/chat, patio. Tons of outlets to charge your laptop. Parking lot spots across the street, as well as lots of street parking (no, not typical Denver, never find a spot, meter parking..FREE neighborhood style parking). I think the only way that this place could be any better is by having the kitchen stay open until close.

After leaving my creamer out on my counter (ew... I know...) I was forced to wander out of my apartment to find caffeine as I was too lazy to venture to the store. This place was closest and has the best reviews of the actual coffee beverages and not just atmosphere or whatever. I don't care about atmosphere if your lattes taste like warm milk with a splash of coffee for color. Europa gets a solid three stars for my first visit. I could easily see it growing into four. Takes a touch longer than the chains for a beverage if a few people are in front of you but I completely respect the fact that the barista us an actual barista & not just a button pusher. Fresh ground beans when you order, expertly made lattes with delicious flavor, & a laid-back atmosphere that matched my fall morning perfectly. I'll be back.

Fact: Cafe Europa has the best bacon in the entire universe. It's peppered to perfection, the ideal balance of crispiness and tenderness. Order it. I'd easily qualify this as my favorite coffee shop in the country - and I've visited a lot. This is my go-to spot for breakfasts in Denver, where you can get everything from a bagel with cream cheese to the full she-bang breakfast platter with all the fixings. Everything tastes fresh, everything is satisfying. My favorite beverage here is the jasmine tea, but the coffee is excellent as well. I like to pair my tea with a nice little shot of espresso. This is a great neighborhood joint for anyone. Run in a grab a coffee to-go, perch up inside with your laptop to get some work done, or join some friends outside for a leisurely breakfast and people-watching. If you have a dog, bring 'em! If you ever get the chance, watch the baristas as the make the coffee - the process is pretty interesting, and you can tell that these folks are really passionate about crafting a quality cup.

I love coming here and the food is great. Please detail clean out your restrooms- they are gross. It makes me wonder what the kitchen is like :( Otherwise, the staff is friendly and good atmosphere. I would want to know if I was the owner what is what like from the guests eyes.

  • Josh L.

The coffee here is good, if a bit overpriced. The espresso is complex and nuanced with some great flavors. The environment is great. Lots of seating, good lighting, and the wifi is pretty fast. The baristas usually look sad and aren't very friendly, but I don't mind that. They aren't rude, they just don't pretend to be happy and excited to see you. But they do their job (i.e., make good coffee and food) well. This is one of my favorite coffee shops to visit. The best way I can describe it is honest. It's an honest coffee shop that doesn't put on fronts or fake what it is. It's a place where you feel like you fit in, no matter who you are or what style you rock, because everyone is a little unique.

  • James B.

A reasonable coffee shop, if nothing too amazing. Spacious interior, nice staff, good tables to work on. If you are going for food, avoid the egg sandwiches. They are a bit overpriced for some scrambled eggs on a piece of toast. The breakfast burritos are def the way to go. Fifty cent refills on coffee are nice. The music tends to lean a bit towards the my first high school reggae playlist variety -- I'd like to hear a bit more new stuff, like you would read about on Pitchfork, but whatevs, a cool joint nonetheless.

I love going to coffee shops to relax and get some reading in. The coffee is great here and staff is friendly and prompt. Don't know about the food because I decided to leave instead of having a full-blown lunch. However, the reason for the 2 stars is that one cannot enjoy the atmosphere, coffee, or even a conversation with someone because of the blaring music (loud loud loud). After about 5 minutes I drank my coffee and left. Probably will find another hangout as I'm new to Denver as I had a headache when I should have felt relaxed upon leaving.

Europa, I love your place. I live right around the corner. Your convenience for out of town guests is indispensable. They dig the affordable breakfasts. Staff is legit. The new steel/wood counters are a great departure from the otherwise wobbly tables. The designer could have sanded them flat, but stopped short. Not sure why. I like the big open space, but when The National plays on repeat, it makes me a dull boy. Please mix up the beats so I don't feel stuck in a 2009 indie film. Downtempo is good. We aren't quite Broadway, so we can leave any post-punk music off the table, please. Thank you for being in my hood where I need you.

On my second visit now and I love this place! Europa meets a certain sweet spot that is unrivaled in the area (especially after Michealangelo's closed down). They have solid coffee, a broad enough lunch and breakfast menu, and most importantly to me, HEALTHY OPTIONS! Whole grains, fruits, salad greens and not-too-goopy curried chicken salad filled me up for lunch after a nice cappuccino, and I still have 1/2 a sandwich left! Having good options for sides made me feel a lot less guilty about not having my usual fruit-and-yogurt b-fast since I was still getting whole grains and antioxidants. If you must, you can also get chips, and there seemed to be a few sweets behind the glass too. In terms of prices, I have no IDEA how anyone can call this place "pricey." I live in the area and eat, drink and make merry around here all the time, and I think they are right on target for the quality of food. ~$12 for a 12oz cappuccino, a generously stuffed chicken salad sandwich, a heap of greens and a little bowl of mixed berries served with a smile and some banter made me feel good enough to leave a good tip for the guys behind the counter and still feel like I got a fair deal. And yes, I am aware a 12oz Capa is kind of a ludicrous drink order. Stuff it, coffee snobs. I like my milky espresso with a little fluff on top, I don't care about the precious ratio. And if it's too crowded? I just smile real nice and ask a friendly looking person if we can share a table, then keep my spread to a minimum :)

This a great neighborhood place, frequented by DU students and locals of all types. Classic cafe atmosphere, great staff and a remarkable kitchen. Best green chile anywhere. The patio is large and on the shady side of the street in the morning. The only drawback is that it is dog city on the weekends and the dog owners seem to be oblivious to the fact that not everyone appreciates their beloved hounds helping themselves to others plates, hot breath and alphas asserting their territorial claims.

Awesome ambiance, very coffe housey! Perfect place to meet friends, read a book or study! Food at cafes is usually just soso but the food here is phenomenal! Wonderful location, good hours, served by interesting people ;)

Under new ownership, Europa seems to be thriving. The coffee is excellent and the breakfast food solid. It's a bit on the pricey side for this kind of food, but I haven't had a bad experience yet. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff round it out nicely. A few more improvements and I would lean towards five stars.
