We live in this Neighborhood and have been to Denver Deep Dish a bunch. We love the staff! They are so friendly and actually will remember you, even if you only show up every month or so. Great atmosphere, and they have trivia Wednesday nights. Beer - AMAZING local beer selection (as well as a great Chicago selection). Really good stuff in cans. Also, the mixed drinks looks super fun. Food - the smoked wings are perfect. Get them. The pizza is deep, and takes awhile to arrive at your table (get the wings for the wait). The crust on the pizza is crusty and buttery. My favourite pie is the pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño pie. This place is great. Try it out.

Wow. I am shocked. After posting a negative review of this business I was contacted by the owner and a regular at the restaurant asking me to change and/or remove my review. I was told that things I said in my review were unethical. You know what is unethical? Asking me to change and/or remove my review. So let me say this. Please go try this restaurant. I'm rollin with the deep dish meat lovers! That is exactly what I did and I must say this was the BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD! Holy deep dish pizza, I would I could explain with words. The crust tasted like they baked it in an oven that fell straight from heaven. It was crispy, flaky, and buttery. The sauce, this was the kicker! I have never tasted a pizza that the flavor of the sauce took over the entire pizza. It was a perfect compliment to the cheeze (yes, with a Z) and the meat toppings. Did you all make the cheese? Do you have a cow in the back that you get the milk from? Do you cure and smoke all the meats that you put on the toppings for this pizza? I hung out at the Bar Car and took the pizza to go, I tasted when I was driving home and I literally had to pull over on Colorado Blvd and Mississippi to finish the piece that I started. I couldn't wait the 35 minutes it was going to take me to get back to SE Aurora. Needless to say, when I got home I SMASHED IT!!! I tell you what... Denver Deep Dish is going to be FAMOUS! This place is going to make its mark in Denver, FAST. Please don't be surprised if you see Guy and the Triple D (the "other" Triple D) crew show up to this place. I don't know what the other reviews say, but if they are anything less then outstanding - DISREGARD and try this place out for yourself! Much love DDD! I will be back... with an Army of men... women... and children! Just a side note, their wings MIGHT be better than there pizza... you need to try them!

I'm a New Yorker so grew up on thin slice traditional pie but from time to time a good deep dish is ok in my book. So decided to try this new restaurant. Unfortunately in my opinion this place is awful the pizza was way overpriced and undercooked. We ordered the sausage with onions and peppers. Sausage was good but onions and peppers were raw and all the toppings slid off the pie this is why the cheese needs to go on top. Sorry but you lost my business!!!!

This was a disappointment. I like deep dish but this was terrible. We ordered it and upon arrival it wasn't even sliced, which was a little annoying. We ordered plain cheese and after the first bite we realized this wasn't fit for leftovers.... That's almost never true with pizza.

Wow, I really like this joint! My favorite aspect of the experience was the service. Our server was personable, attentive, and made great suggestions regarding our pizza and our beer-and then suckered us into a takeaway dessert by saying "brown butter rice crispy squares". Who doesn't want to try those?! The pizza was delicious. We ordered the goat cheese, bacon, and onion pizza. We ate the whole pie. I understand what the other reviewers said about the toppings...they could be more visible on top of the pie. Nevertheless, it was good. Our beers were delicious as well. They have a great selection of beers from the tap and cans. We shall return to eat more pizza. I really enjoyed the way we were treated. I think a lot of restaurants miss that component.

Is it Chicago deep dish? Not really. However, it's really pretty good. I would suggest the following modifications: sweetening the sauce a bit, removing the marjoram or whichever herb gives it the off flavor, adding more cheese (hello - DEEP DISH) and adding a bit of flavor into the crust (butter, oil, salt...)? The staff was awesome. Will eat here again!

Okay, I've never been to Chicago and I can't say that I've eaten a whole lot of deep dish pizza in my life, but I loved Denver Deep Dish! The fact that it's three blocks from our house is just a (dangerous) bonus. We stopped in on Friday night and despite the kids birthday party going on at the same time, we had a great experience. The staff was lovely. We were immediately greeted by who I assume was either the owner or the manager and were given a run down of the local beer offerings. We both went with LowDown's IPA and the description (hints of grapefruit, lager color) were spot on. The rest of the staff was equally friendly and I liked that they all seemed to be helping each other out. Oh and we ordered some garlic bites to go with our beer. I loved that doughy texture. As for the pizza, we each ordered smalls (spinach and sausage for me, supreme for him) and thought it was the perfect personal pizza size. I loved mine! The ratio of cheese to sauce to toppings was just right (the supreme had more of a dominant sauce taste) and I loved the crust! Though it was deep dish, the bottom crust was still thin(ish) so it wasn't overwhelmingly carby/filling. We will absolutely be back -- probably too often :)

This place is really good. I love pizza and just moved from Chicago a year ago. I feel like this is very solid deep dish pizza. Also I tried the gluten free deep dish and I'm very impressed. In all my time living in Chicago I never went to a place that has as good gluten free deep dish as Denver Deep Dish. I recommend the meat lovers, it's really good.

I love this place, the pizza is great, the staff is friendly, and the service is prompt. The sandwiches and wings are good too, but I usually just stick with my regular, pepperoni and pepperoncini deep dish. They also have a fantastic rotating local beer selection.

I love Denver Deep Dish!!! Great quality in the ingredients that they use in their pizzas and everything on their menu. Everything has "love" in it. Their passion for food, their passion for beers, their passion for customers, and of course, their passion for Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. The smoked wings are so yummy and they have many selections of delicious beers. My go-to have always been their pizza. My favorite toppings are pineapples, pepperonis, and bell peppers (instead of the jalapeños). They have many featured signature pizzas and different creations. I'm so glad that they have now have a location closer to "this side" of I-25. Think of this as Chicago-inspired-style pizza. Different from Old Chicago, and in my opinion, a lot better. This doesn't weigh me down and I love the light crust. The service has always been amazing and I love their shirts! Overall, I love coming here and I want to try their patio on a warm day soon.... Can't wait!

The toppings of our 505 pizza were good, however, the biscuit dough had no taste, which makes you wonder why the heck they even use it. Another point worth mentioning, this is not my impression of 'deep dish' pizza, it's hand tossed pizza put in a tin round, the only part of it being 'deep' is the crust, the toppings are in no way reflective of the pizza type. I feel like there could be a good 20 to 50 percent more toppings on these pizzas. So when you're feeling like you're paying a pretty high price for something that's only 60 to 70 percent there in terms of portion size or ingredients, it's really out of whack with the expectations and makes me not want to come back. Maybe this isn't a big deal if you're just going for a few slices and beers to wash down, but in terms of a place I would frequent, this one lacks the clear value proposition you find at many local places like Tony P's, Ernie's or even Pizza Locale, for that matter. The pretzels with cheese dip were actually quite good, so can't complain there. I was a little turned off by the fact that they didn't accept Amex, for what I perceived to be a pretty high price point for said pizza. Between the 2 of us for pretzels and large pizza 38 dollars, 43 with tip, which we thought was pretty high, no booze or soft drinks either. I can't say I was really wowed by this place, my comments share the general consensus of other yelpers.... this isn't real deep dish pizza.....

When I arrived I figured this place would be really good. New building. Good reviews. Claimed to be Chicago style pizza. I ordered pickup, that's what got them the two stars. It was ready 5 minutes earlier then expected. That was the only positive thing about my experience here. I tired the smoked bacon, goat cheese, and herbs. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good pizza. It was soupy when I was first handed it. Toppings were lacking big time, I want a pizza. Not a few toppings tossed on top. And for the thickness of the pizza, well it wasn't very thick at all and the crust and dough wasn't very tasty at all either. All in all I don't think I will return to this place. Old Chicago kicks out a better pizza if you ask me. Shoot I'd rather eat Blackjacks over this any day.

We grabbed some of the lunch crew from work and made the trek from Downtown to experience Chicago pizza, and were pleasantly surprised. I myself prefer a NY-Style pizza, but the quality of the ingredients here were very fresh, and I was impressed with the service. It's apparent that they are still a little new, and getting some of the kinks worked out, but overall, the meal here was very good. The wings are very tasty. Plan on waiting 35-40 minutes for your pie, as it is made to order. I'm sure this place will do fine.

I got the 505 and it was good. But not at all what I would call a deep dish...I would call it a thick crust instead. Also I got it to go and it wasn't sliced- I understand not slicing a "real" deep dish but this pizza could have been sliced up, just a minor inconvenience since I couldn't eat a piece in traffic on the way home!

This pizza is my hands down favorite in town. It's a saucy deep dish pie with a rich buttery crust. My husband is a huge fan of the smoked wings, and we both love the great craft beer selection. I have always found the staff to be super friendly and accommodating too. Yum!

Recently moved to the area and had to give this place a try as I'm a big fan of deep dish pizza. First off, the location is nice with plenty of parking available. The restaurant has a cool design as well, with outdoor seating right off the bar. The service was friendly too. The pizza itself was good, but not great. However, great deep dish pizza seems hard to find outside of Chicago. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. I'll probably check out some other places in town before returning, but still it was a good all-around experience.

The crust that Jason has crafted is perfect; the concoction of flavors he's designed is unique and the combination make for a fabulous pizza that is, without exception, the best pizza I've ever had! I am writing this review as i am waiting for my pickup. Horribly slow service. I waited 7 mins on the door to be acknowledged by the waitress. Once she understood my order, she diverted me to the bar where the bar guy was leaving. He came back to the counter after 5 mins and asked me what i want. He took another 5 mins to give a feedback that my pizza will take another 10 mins. Worth mentioning that i ordered it over phone at least 15 mins before I arrived here. So if you are in a hurry, definable this is not your place.

I really, really wanted to love this place. Especially when realizing it's dangerously close to my house. But just like back at home, the Deep Dish debates rage on. I'm a tried and true Edwardo's girl. Maybe it's the Malnati's fans that can appreciate this thick, mealy crust, but for me the sauce/cheese to bread ratio was way off and not enough sustenance to balance out the carbs. Fix the proportions because the toppings are great- goat cheese, bacon and onions, 3 of my favorite things on the planet and somehow managing even to pack a little heat.... bummer. The garlic bites were also much too heavy and greasy. Patxi's, California chain still dominates the Chi pizza market in Denver, although Wyman's is a close second.

In a city where there are seemingly endless pizza options, I consider myself a pizza snob. Furthermore, I'm a thin crust person. So east coast, thin crust, or Italian style thin crust is my idea of pizza. BUT, I can still appreciate a great thick, Chicago-style pie - occasionally when my hubby suggests pizza for dinner I even crave thick crust. So when he suggested that we try the new Denver Deep Dish I was more than willing to give it a go. What Denver Deep Dish gets right is the crust. My problem with deep dish in general is that there is usually too much crust. The crust at DDD is thick but not overly dense. It's got a terrific "crunch" and is cooked through - not soggy nor burnt. Basically, the crust is delicious. Ingredients are also very good. We shared a medium supreme which contained sausage, peppers, cheese etc. I found it unusual that the pie was not overloaded with ingredients and in fact I would have liked for there have been more cheese. Still, the flavor was great and the pie was the perfect size for two (with a few slice to take home for breakfast) along with a side salad, which was also very fresh and tasty. Your server tells you up front that a medium deep dish takes thirty minutes and a large will take close to forty minutes to cook. This is a good thing - you don't want to rush a deep dish pie. Good beer selection. Excellent atmosphere. NOTE: if you go there and do not have children, you might want to sit in the bar area as families tend to take over the main section of the restaurant. I have nothing against kids (heck my hubby and I successfully raised one), but the bar area is a bit less kid oriented and therefore quieter. Service on a Friday night was excellent. We received just the right amount of attention but never felt rushed. Lastly, we ate there on a very cold Friday night and the restaurant itself was very warm inside. I despise eating in a cold restaurant or in an environment where the fans are directly overhead so you constantly have air blowing on you. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't "hot" inside, just warm and inviting - a place where you want to stay and have another beer.

These guys are a very welcomed addition to our neighborhood. Jason did it right from the jump. He Came by and actually talked to the neighbors and introduced himself. This goes a long way for me so when we stopped by it was not a surprise to see a stellar bar and wait staff and of course Jason the owner coming over to say hi himself with a big smile. We were really excited to try this place out. 3 Chicagoans + me. It was their opening weekend. We ordered carryout and had to wait longer than advertised once we got there. No biggie. Game was on their TV and it was nice and warm. So we pick up the pizza, return home, and are surprised to find the deep dish pizza was not deep dish at all. The crust was big, but pizza pie itself was pretty humble by any deep dish standards. Very thin toppings. Not at all Chicago style. That was a bummer. It tasted just ok. Actually tasted better the next day when we reheated it. The breadsticks were mediocre at best. See photos I'm adding. To add to that, it cost us just under $50. Really expensive for what we got. We really want this place in our neighborhood to be good. It's not there yet. Maybe will try again this summer.

Great gluten free pizza! Sauce and toppings were delicious and the crust had nice texture and flavor (didn't get mushy like a lot of gf pizza crusts). Was expensive ($22 for a supreme), but was easily enough for two meals and I'm not usually the type to have leftovers. Got a martini that was also great. My husband enjoyed his non gf deep dish pizza, but said the small pizza has a crust to topping ratio problem. His plan is to get a larger one next time and then eat too much of it. My boys got hot dogs and chips, which were $3 and made them both very happy. I took off a star because I asked for no onions and they messed that up. Had to wait for another pizza and they take more than 20 min to cook, so it was sort of a night ruiner. Getting the kids to wait for the first pizzas was hard enough and by the time my pizza came out, we needed to leave. They did comp my pizza and were appropriately apologetic about it, but probably should have comped our drinks or something considering how much of a drag it was for us. Regardless, these things happen. We will try them again. I can't think of a gf pizza in the area that I'd rather eat.

Delightful! Staff was super friendly. We each had a beer from Diebolt (a local brewery) and split a pizza with a vegetarian friend. I've had Chicago style pizza before and found it too bready. This crust is more like a pastry- I won't say "light", but I guess light for Chicago style. Really good. 50 min wait for a pizza but the beer and ambiance more than made up for the wait! UPDATE: My husband had their wings and said they were "outstanding". And trust me - he knows wings!

A small group of us went here last night and were really excited to try this neighborhood pizza joint but left disappointed. To mimic what a lot of the other yelpers have said, the pizza was just so-so. Hardly deep dish at all. We got a half and half Buffalo chicken and pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeños. The waitress made a mistake and brought us half BBQ chicken instead... Which was annoying but after waiting 50 minutes for a pie she said took 25 to cook we didn't really care all that much and ate it anyway. The manager who brought it over didn't even apologize and was condescending when we said that wasn't what we had ordered initially. He did offer to make a buffalo chicken pizza but wanted to take the one he brought back to the kitchen and we simply didn't have the time to sit and wait another hour. His attitude was what really bothered us. The pizza didn't taste bad... But I thought the tomato sauce was much too sweet and could have been cooked more in the middle. Even though the waitress messed up our order she was nice and very courteous. Overall, the messed up order, the 50 minute wait time and the quality of pizza all could have been forgiven had the manager not been a complete a** (excuse my French). It made enough of an impression to write about since this is my very first Yelp post. Needless to say I won't be trying this place again.

Overall, the grilled and smoked spicy buffalo wings were delicious! They had good pizza and environment, an extensive menu, and they offered 50 local beers. I Wanted to give this place five stars but it fell short, see below. I would like to acknowledge that my standard deep dish is Old Chicago's. On the wings: Wow! Grilled and smoked wings for the win, it was basically a magical moment when the smoked flavor and spicy buffalo mixed--I will go back specifically for the wings, no doubt. The wings set the standards for grilled wings for me, perhaps how great wings can be in general! On the pizza: the waiter said it would take 35 mins to make, and it did. We ordered pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño , which surprisingly was one of their "standard" pizzas and apparently most popular. The wait was worth it, as deep dish is always yummy. However, my complaints were this: the pizza was soupy, as I believe they put more Mariana sauce above the cheese than below. I love marinara, and the sauce was fine, but the fresh-chunky tomato consistency , alongside the pineapple perpetrators, made the pizza prone to being "wet". Thus, the toppings and sauce, bathed in the deep dish bowl. Also, the crust was not my favorite. Despite the wetness or the topping, It was almost like a dry and floury pillsbury croissant crust. Wings get 5/5, pizza gets 3/5, environment and overall experience, 4/5. I appreciate this pizza place for all it offers, but It's the wings that impressed me most.

What an incredible disappointment!!! The service was not just slow, but we felt like the server was purposely ignoring us. It took quite some time for us to even order. Knowing that that the pizza took 30+ minutes to cook, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. It took well over 20 minutes to get the pretzels and beer cheese sauce. It was the most horrible thing I have had in a really long time. It was served ice cold and gritty. It was more like pepper ranch that had turned bad. We called it to the attention and the waiter and he assured us that is how it's served. Sent that back. Got wings instead and they were very tasty. Finally after about an hour our pizza came out. It was ok but not wonderful. Ordered a large and they made a medium instead. Never asked if we needed drink refills or addition drinks. The bill came and yes we were still charged for the pretzel appetizer.

Not a deep dish aficionado by any means, but I really like the pizza here, the smoked wings are great, the beer cheese dip for the pretzels is delicious. My wife sadly has to do gluten free, but we are both very pleased with the gluten free deep dish option here. There are about 8-10 beers on tap, but the kicker for those who say that isn't enough is that there is no "crap" on tap, their bottle and can selection is quite impressive as well and so far has been changing a lot. We are fast becoming regulars here, very friendly staff. Just a friendly note on deep dish pizza ordering, expect 30-45 minutes for your pizza to be cooked and brought out to you, which is a great amount of time to enjoy a drink and an app.

Great smoked wings! Best I've had, ever. Chicago inspired pizza (note to all those that aren't happy that it's not Lou Malnati's) has great flavor, good size. The price might seem high but most can't eat more than 2 or 3 pieces at the most. I had the meatball sub once which was spectacular. Can't wait to try the italian subs which are an homage to Carbones.

I'm not from the Second City but, as far as I'm concerned, this place has really good deep dish pizza. We tried the Supreme for a traditional and the 505 for something different. Both were delicious and devoured in minutes. The bar and bar area are fairly small but the place is an open space design and they have TVs around you can see from the main dining area if you're in the mood to watch a game. Parking is a little limited.

There is good deep dish pizza and then there is Denver Deep Dish pizza. This was THE MOST HORRIBLE experience my girlfriend and I have ever had in Denver to date! The dough was dry and crumble into pieces as we had to cut our own pizza. This was a 1st. The toppings were slopped into the center, poorly held together with the dry, crumbled crust. As we cut the pizza, it drizzled out all over the dish. The service was sub par, as we tried to tell them we wanted to try something else. A man who claimed to be the owner showed up at our table after we were rudely told by our server that this was "common"and people usually have no problem w the pizza. He told us that he would refund our money with an attitude as if he was mocking us. At that point we had decided to take the refund happily just to get out of the place! We won't ever be returning. We also witnessed more than 1 of the workers (with work shirts still on) taking shots at the bar and laughing, while looking and pointing in our direction. Was very uncomfortable, un professional, and made us feel like total outsiders to some college frat party going on. Obviously we will not be returning again. Worst food experience we've had in years! I suggest skipping this place and saving yourself the hassle of being treated like total shit, un appreciated, and dealing with children trying to run a restaraunt.

I would say "Chicago inspired" rather than "Chicago style" pizza. Don't get me wrong - that's not a criticism though. Loved the flavor of the crust and the pizza overall was pretty delicious. Heavy paper and you get more than one at the start. - Outside lighting is almost non-existent, but supposedly will be fixed soon. - Goose Island beer from Chicago. This brewery is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest beer company. Not a craft beer. - Parking. Degree of difficulty is high. But, then, it is the Highland. - No Amex.

I'm rollin with the deep dish meat lovers! That is exactly what I did and I must say this was the BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD! Holy deep dish pizza, I would I could explain with words. The crust tasted like they baked it in an oven that fell straight from heaven. It was crispy, flaky, and buttery. The sauce, this was the kicker! I have never tasted a pizza that the flavor of the sauce took over the entire pizza. It was a perfect compliment to the cheeze (yes, with a Z) and the meat toppings. Did you all make the cheese? Do you have a cow in the back that you get the milk from? Do you cure and smoke all the meats that you put on the toppings for this pizza? I hung out at the Bar Car and took the pizza to go, I tasted when I was driving home and I literally had to pull over on Colorado Blvd and Mississippi to finish the piece that I started. I couldn't wait the 35 minutes it was going to take me to get back to SE Aurora. Needless to say, when I got home I SMASHED IT!!! I tell you what... Denver Deep Dish is going to be FAMOUS! This place is going to make its mark in Denver, FAST. Please don't be surprised if you see Guy and the Triple D (the "other" Triple D) crew show up to this place. Unfortunately in my opinion this place is awful the pizza was way overpriced and undercooked. We ordered the sausage with onions and peppers. The crust was big, but pizza pie itself was pretty humble by any deep dish standards. Very thin toppings. Not at all Chicago style. That was a bummer. It tasted just ok. Actually tasted better the next day when we reheated it. The breadsticks were mediocre at best. See photos I'm adding. To add to that, it cost us just under $50. Really expensive for what we got. We really want this place in our neighborhood to be good. It's not there yet. Maybe will try again this summer.

Wow, I really like this joint! My favorite aspect of the experience was the service. Our server was personable, attentive, and made great suggestions regarding our pizza and our beer-and then suckered us into a takeaway dessert by saying "brown butter rice crispy squares". Who doesn't want to try those?! The pizza was delicious. We ordered the goat cheese, bacon, and onion pizza. We ate the whole pie. I understand what the other reviewers said about the toppings...they could be more visible on top of the pie. Nevertheless, it was good. Our beers were delicious as well. They have a great selection of beers from the tap and cans. We shall return to eat more pizza. I really enjoyed the way we were treated. I think a lot of restaurants miss that component.

Is it Chicago deep dish? Not really. However, it's really pretty good. I would suggest the following modifications: sweetening the sauce a bit, removing the marjoram or whichever herb gives it the off flavor, adding more cheese (hello - DEEP DISH) and adding a bit of flavor into the crust (butter, oil, salt...)? The staff was awesome. Will eat here again!

Okay, I've never been to Chicago and I can't say that I've eaten a whole lot of deep dish pizza in my life, but I loved Denver Deep Dish! The fact that it's three blocks from our house is just a (dangerous) bonus. We stopped in on Friday night and despite the kids birthday party going on at the same time, we had a great experience. The staff was lovely. We were immediately greeted by who I assume was either the owner or the manager and were given a run down of the local beer offerings. We both went with LowDown's IPA and the description (hints of grapefruit, lager color) were spot on. The rest of the staff was equally friendly and I liked that they all seemed to be helping each other out. Oh and we ordered some garlic bites to go with our beer. I loved that doughy texture. As for the pizza, we each ordered smalls (spinach and sausage for me, supreme for him) and thought it was the perfect personal pizza size. I loved mine! The ratio of cheese to sauce to toppings was just right (the supreme had more of a dominant sauce taste) and I loved the crust! Though it was deep dish, the bottom crust was still thin(ish) so it wasn't overwhelmingly carby/filling. We will absolutely be back -- probably too often :)

Overall, the grilled and smoked spicy buffalo wings were delicious! They had good pizza and environment, an extensive menu, and they offered 50 local beers. I Wanted to give this place five stars but it fell short, see below. I would like to acknowledge that my standard deep dish is Old Chicago's. On the wings: Wow! Grilled and smoked wings for the win, it was basically a magical moment when the smoked flavor and spicy buffalo mixed--I will go back specifically for the wings, no doubt. The wings set the standards for grilled wings for me, perhaps how great wings can be in general! On the pizza: the waiter said it would take 35 mins to make, and it did. We ordered pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño , which surprisingly was one of their "standard" pizzas and apparently most popular. The wait was worth it, as deep dish is always yummy. However, my complaints were this: the pizza was soupy, as I believe they put more Mariana sauce above the cheese than below. I love marinara, and the sauce was fine, but the fresh-chunky tomato consistency , alongside the pineapple perpetrators, made the pizza prone to being "wet". Thus, the toppings and sauce, bathed in the deep dish bowl. Also, the crust was not my favorite. Despite the wetness or the topping, It was almost like a dry and floury pillsbury croissant crust. Wings get 5/5, pizza gets 3/5, environment and overall experience, 4/5. I appreciate this pizza place for all it offers, but It's the wings that impressed me most.

In all my time living in Chicago I never went to a place that has as good gluten free deep dish as Denver Deep Dish. I recommend the meat lovers, it's really good.

I love this place, the pizza is great, the staff is friendly, and the service is prompt. The sandwiches and wings are good too, but I usually just stick with my regular, pepperoni and pepperoncini deep dish. They also have a fantastic rotating local beer selection.

Jason the Chicago transplant and owner and everyone else are super friendly and the pizza is fantastic. Probably the best deep dish pizza in Denver. The wait can be a little long sometimes, but it's well worth it.

I love Denver Deep Dish!!! Great quality in the ingredients that they use in their pizzas and everything on their menu. Everything has "love" in it. Their passion for food, their passion for beers, their passion for customers, and of course, their passion for Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. The smoked wings are so yummy and they have many selections of delicious beers. My go-to have always been their pizza. My favorite toppings are pineapples, pepperonis, and bell peppers (instead of the jalapeños). They have many featured signature pizzas and different creations. I'm so glad that they have now have a location closer to "this side" of I-25. Think of this as Chicago-inspired-style pizza. Different from Old Chicago, and in my opinion, a lot better. This doesn't weigh me down and I love the light crust. The service has always been amazing and I love their shirts! Overall, I love coming here and I want to try their patio on a warm day soon.... Can't wait!

The toppings of our 505 pizza were good, however, the biscuit dough had no taste, which makes you wonder why the heck they even use it. Another point worth mentioning, this is not my impression of 'deep dish' pizza, it's hand tossed pizza put in a tin round, the only part of it being 'deep' is the crust, the toppings are in no way reflective of the pizza type. I feel like there could be a good 20 to 50 percent more toppings on these pizzas. So when you're feeling like you're paying a pretty high price for something that's only 60 to 70 percent there in terms of portion size or ingredients, it's really out of whack with the expectations and makes me not want to come back. Maybe this isn't a big deal if you're just going for a few slices and beers to wash down, but in terms of a place I would frequent, this one lacks the clear value proposition you find at many local places like Tony P's, Ernie's or even Pizza Locale, for that matter. The pretzels with cheese dip were actually quite good, so can't complain there. I was a little turned off by the fact that they didn't accept Amex, for what I perceived to be a pretty high price point for said pizza. Between the 2 of us for pretzels and large pizza 38 dollars, 43 with tip, which we thought was pretty high, no booze or soft drinks either. I can't say I was really wowed by this place, my comments share the general consensus of other yelpers.... this isn't real deep dish pizza.....

When I arrived I figured this place would be really good. New building. Good reviews. Claimed to be Chicago style pizza. I ordered pickup, that's what got them the two stars. It was ready 5 minutes earlier then expected. That was the only positive thing about my experience here. I tired the smoked bacon, goat cheese, and herbs. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good pizza. It was soupy when I was first handed it. Toppings were lacking big time, I want a pizza. Not a few toppings tossed on top. And for the thickness of the pizza, well it wasn't very thick at all and the crust and dough wasn't very tasty at all either. All in all I don't think I will return to this place. Old Chicago kicks out a better pizza if you ask me. Shoot I'd rather eat Blackjacks over this any day.

We grabbed some of the lunch crew from work and made the trek from Downtown to experience Chicago pizza, and were pleasantly surprised. I myself prefer a NY-Style pizza, but the quality of the ingredients here were very fresh, and I was impressed with the service. It's apparent that they are still a little new, and getting some of the kinks worked out, but overall, the meal here was very good. The wings are very tasty. Plan on waiting 35-40 minutes for your pie, as it is made to order. I'm sure this place will do fine.

Recently moved to the area and had to give this place a try as I'm a big fan of deep dish pizza. First off, the location is nice with plenty of parking available. The restaurant has a cool design as well, with outdoor seating right off the bar. The service was friendly too. The pizza itself was good, but not great. However, great deep dish pizza seems hard to find outside of Chicago. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. I'll probably check out some other places in town before returning, but still it was a good all-around experience.

A small group of us went here last night and were really excited to try this neighborhood pizza joint but left disappointed. To mimic what a lot of the other yelpers have said, the pizza was just so-so. Hardly deep dish at all. We got a half and half Buffalo chicken and pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeños. The waitress made a mistake and brought us half BBQ chicken instead... Which was annoying but after waiting 50 minutes for a pie she said took 25 to cook we didn't really care all that much and ate it anyway. The manager who brought it over didn't even apologize and was condescending when we said that wasn't what we had ordered initially. He did offer to make a buffalo chicken pizza but wanted to take the one he brought back to the kitchen and we simply didn't have the time to sit and wait another hour. His attitude was what really bothered us. The pizza didn't taste bad... But I thought the tomato sauce was much too sweet and could have been cooked more in the middle. Even though the waitress messed up our order she was nice and very courteous. Overall, the messed up order, the 50 minute wait time and the quality of pizza all could have been forgiven had the manager not been a complete a** (excuse my French). It made enough of an impression to write about since this is my very first Yelp post. Needless to say I won't be trying this place again.

Also I got it to go and it wasn't sliced- I understand not slicing a "real" deep dish but this pizza could have been sliced up, just a minor inconvenience since I couldn't eat a piece in traffic on the way home!

These guys are a very welcomed addition to our neighborhood. Jason did it right from the jump. He Came by and actually talked to the neighbors and introduced himself. This goes a long way for me so when we stopped by it was not a surprise to see a stellar bar and wait staff and of course Jason the owner coming over to say hi himself with a big smile. In a city where there are seemingly endless pizza options, I consider myself a pizza snob. Furthermore, I'm a thin crust person. So east coast, thin crust, or Italian style thin crust is my idea of pizza. BUT, I can still appreciate a great thick, Chicago-style pie - occasionally when my hubby suggests pizza for dinner I even crave thick crust. So when he suggested that we try the new Denver Deep Dish I was more than willing to give it a go. What Denver Deep Dish gets right is the crust. My problem with deep dish in general is that there is usually too much crust. The crust at DDD is thick but not overly dense. It's got a terrific "crunch" and is cooked through - not soggy nor burnt. Basically, the crust is delicious. Ingredients are also very good. We shared a medium supreme which contained sausage, peppers, cheese etc. I found it unusual that the pie was not overloaded with ingredients and in fact I would have liked for there have been more cheese. Still, the flavor was great and the pie was the perfect size for two (with a few slice to take home for breakfast) along with a side salad, which was also very fresh and tasty. Your server tells you up front that a medium deep dish takes thirty minutes and a large will take close to forty minutes to cook. This is a good thing - you don't want to rush a deep dish pie. Good beer selection. Excellent atmosphere. NOTE: if you go there and do not have children, you might want to sit in the bar area as families tend to take over the main section of the restaurant. I have nothing against kids (heck my hubby and I successfully raised one), but the bar area is a bit less kid oriented and therefore quieter. Service on a Friday night was excellent. We received just the right amount of attention but never felt rushed. Lastly, we ate there on a very cold Friday night and the restaurant itself was very warm inside. I despise eating in a cold restaurant or in an environment where the fans are directly overhead so you constantly have air blowing on you. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't "hot" inside, just warm and inviting - a place where you want to stay and have another beer.

I really, really wanted to love this place. Especially when realizing it's dangerously close to my house. But just like back at home, the Deep Dish debates rage on. I'm a tried and true Edwardo's girl. Maybe it's the Malnati's fans that can appreciate this thick, mealy crust, but for me the sauce/cheese to bread ratio was way off and not enough sustenance to balance out the carbs. Fix the proportions because the toppings are great- goat cheese, bacon and onions, 3 of my favorite things on the planet and somehow managing even to pack a little heat.... bummer. The garlic bites were also much too heavy and greasy. Patxi's, California chain still dominates the Chi pizza market in Denver, although Wyman's is a close second.

I am writing this review as i am waiting for my pickup. Horribly slow service. I waited 7 mins on the door to be acknowledged by the waitress. Once she understood my order, she diverted me to the bar where the bar guy was leaving. He came back to the counter after 5 mins and asked me what i want. He took another 5 mins to give a feedback that my pizza will take another 10 mins. Worth mentioning that i ordered it over phone at least 15 mins before I arrived here. So if you are in a hurry, definable this is not your place.

Wow, I knew when a new Sunnyside pizza joint was opening, it would be total crap. It's a wasteland that only caters to rich young white assholes from the neighborhood. There is no way in hell that I would recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Denver - and I have a lot of friends and family come through. The service was spotty, and the staff was rude, indicating that we have no knowledge of food - our pizza took almost an hour and our teenager was getting antsy after waiting for so long. Did not go to this one but the one on 38th avenue. Being from the Chicago area I was utterly disappointed. The 14.00 deep dosh pizza I ordered for my son was worth about 3.00. If you want a real deep dish experience try Paxtis. When I emailed them about their pizza, thry just blew me off. Tasty, limited local selection. + Layout. Good separation of bar from main eating area. The lower (main) area was mobbed with families and kids. The upper (bar) area was filled by hipsters and old farts. + Patio. Well, not on the evening we were there, but should be great in more clement weather. + Wi-Fi. + Napkins. Heavy paper and you get more than one at the start. - Outside lighting is almost non-existent, but supposedly will be fixed soon. - Goose Island beer from Chicago. This brewery is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest beer company. Not a craft beer. - Parking. Degree of difficulty is high. But, then, it is the Highland. - No Amex.

What an incredible disappointment!!! The service was not just slow, but we felt like the server was purposely ignoring us. It took quite some time for us to even order. Knowing that that the pizza took 30+ minutes to cook, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. It took well over 20 minutes to get the pretzels and beer cheese sauce. It was the most horrible thing I have had in a really long time. It was served ice cold and gritty. It was more like pepper ranch that had turned bad. We called it to the attention and the waiter and he assured us that is how it's served. Sent that back. Got wings instead and they were very tasty. Finally after about an hour our pizza came out. It was ok but not wonderful. Ordered a large and they made a medium instead. Never asked if we needed drink refills or addition drinks. The bill came and yes we were still charged for the pretzel appetizer.

Not a deep dish aficionado by any means, but I really like the pizza here, the smoked wings are great, the beer cheese dip for the pretzels is delicious. My wife sadly has to do gluten free, but we are both very pleased with the gluten free deep dish option here. There are about 8-10 beers on tap, but the kicker for those who say that isn't enough is that there is no "crap" on tap, their bottle and can selection is quite impressive as well and so far has been changing a lot. We are fast becoming regulars here, very friendly staff. Just a friendly note on deep dish pizza ordering, expect 30-45 minutes for your pizza to be cooked and brought out to you, which is a great amount of time to enjoy a drink and an app.

This place has the WORST pizza I ever had. It was so bad I wrote this review as soon as I ate a piece of this crap pie. First I opened the box an the pizza wasn't even cut. (Which tells me they really took their time making it) it was undercooked and slapped together. It was EXTREMELY salty. I will never go here again....ever.

Great smoked wings! Best I've had, ever. Chicago inspired pizza (note to all those that aren't happy that it's not Lou Malnati's) has great flavor, good size. The price might seem high but most can't eat more than 2 or 3 pieces at the most. I had the meatball sub once which was spectacular. Can't wait to try the italian subs which are an homage to Carbones.

I'm not from the Second City but, as far as I'm concerned, this place has really good deep dish pizza. We tried the Supreme for a traditional and the 505 for something different. Both were delicious and devoured in minutes. The bar and bar area are fairly small but the place is an open space design and they have TVs around you can see from the main dining area if you're in the mood to watch a game. Parking is a little limited.

Plan to spend a good hour either at the restaurant or waiting. It's extremely slow. Crust tasted more like rubber. Staff is wildly in appropriate. The guy server made an extremely in appropriate joke about young children. The owner is nice but the guys walk all over him. The only reason I gave this a 2 was because the Monday night female bartender was very pleasant and accommodating.

Actual Chicago deep dish! I prefer to make my own spicy pepperoni pizza by adding pepperoncinis. I've never ordered the 420 pizza, but I've seen some people order it before. While it may seem like a scary, it always looks delicious.

Yum!!! Went there on opening night so they were definitely busy and the service was probably a little slower than it normally would be. Even so, that didn't detract from the experience. They have delicious Colorado and Chicago beers on tap as well as several cans and mixed drinks. The pizza was awesome. The sauce was perfect (and in my opinion that's the most important thing). The crust seemed like a mix of regular pizza dough and puff pastry, very good. All around great deep dish pizza. Also had the house made pretzels with beer cheese. There is good deep dish pizza and then there is Denver Deep Dish pizza. This was THE MOST HORRIBLE experience my girlfriend and I have ever had in Denver to date! The dough was dry and crumble into pieces as we had to cut our own pizza. This was a 1st. The toppings were slopped into the center, poorly held together with the dry, crumbled crust. As we cut the pizza, it drizzled out all over the dish. The service was sub par, as we tried to tell them we wanted to try something else. A man who claimed to be the owner showed up at our table after we were rudely told by our server that this was "common"and people usually have no problem w the pizza. He told us that he would refund our money with an attitude as if he was mocking us. At that point we had decided to take the refund happily just to get out of the place! We won't ever be returning. We also witnessed more than 1 of the workers (with work shirts still on) taking shots at the bar and laughing, while looking and pointing in our direction. Was very uncomfortable, un professional, and made us feel like total outsiders to some college frat party going on. Obviously we will not be returning again. Worst food experience we've had in years! I suggest skipping this place and saving yourself the hassle of being treated like total shit, un appreciated, and dealing with children trying to run a restaraunt.

This place is the worst tasting bullshit pizza I have ever had. Deep dish? You're better off going to Pizza Hut with this nasty ass shit. You aint Chicago. You're right with your name "Denver Deep Dish" You guys don't know shit about deep dish. Close this place and put up a Pizza Hut.

My friends and I decided to stop in for a bite to eat, ended up staying for two hours. Had a great time, bartender was hysterical had us laughing the entire time. We will become regulars. Great food, killer atmosphere. Thanks!!

Pizza was actually very good, would rate it 4/5. Very authentic Chicago style. The reason for the 3 stars is that this restaurant signed up for a discount program that lures users into their restuarant, then they didn't honor the certificate. Hmmm.

I would say "Chicago inspired" rather than "Chicago style" pizza. Don't get me wrong - that's not a criticism though. Loved the flavor of the crust and the pizza overall was pretty delicious. Service was super- friendly, and made us feel at home. The only off-note was the garlic bites, while tasty, were underdone and doughy. Otherwise, a very satisfying first visit.

We live in this Neighborhood and have been to Denver Deep Dish a bunch. We love the staff! They are so friendly and actually will remember you, even if you only show up every month or so. Great atmosphere, and they have trivia Wednesday nights. Beer - AMAZING local beer selection (as well as a great Chicago selection). Really good stuff in cans. Also, the mixed drinks looks super fun. Food - the smoked wings are perfect. Get them. The pizza is deep, and takes awhile to arrive at your table (get the wings for the wait). The crust on the pizza is crusty and buttery. My favourite pie is the pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño pie. This place is great. Try it out.

Wow. I am shocked. After posting a negative review of this business I was contacted by the owner and a regular at the restaurant asking me to change and/or remove my review. I was told that things I said in my review were unethical. You know what is unethical? Asking me to change and/or remove my review. So let me say this. Please go try this restaurant. But if you aren't happy with the food or the service I would think twice about posting a review or you may receive harassing messages from the owner and patrons of the restaurant.
