Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

We've been Anthony's customers for years. The last two times we've ordered everything was botched. Delivery is very slow-if you have patience go for it. No pizza is worth an hour and 1/2 wait. The last time we ordered their new gluten free crust. I was shocked when I got home and opened the box. It looked like a pizza crust with cheese smeared all over it. I took it back, the lady at the counter showed it to the cooks who basically shrugged and looked at me. They were apologetic and offered a new pizza; we opted for a full refund. There are too many restaurants out there to deal with this. I would suggest they hire more help, especially drivers-why anyone would wait that long for pizza is beyond me.

Servive is horrible you could do a case study on poor guest relations at this location.Save yourself the agravation do not order from this location.Anthony's is usually pretty good but nothing is worth the lousy treatment save your money

This pizza sucks. Best pizza in Denver hands down is at the Atomic Cowboy. I'm a husky kid from Boston...I know my pizza.

Ordered delivery an hour before the big Broncos game today, and was told it would take an hour. Luckily, it was actually here in around 30 minutes, so no complaints there. I don't think NY style pizza is our cup of tea because the crust is doughy and not quite as done as my husband and I prefer. That being said, this is an excellent pizza delivery place with tons of options (check the website to customize) and tasty pies, wings, and cheese sticks. I just wish I would have known that the cheese sticks were the deep fried variety with a side of marinara, because I was craving actual bread sticks covered with cheese. Oh well, we're full and happy, and the leftovers will be perfect once browned a bit more in the oven later!

Absolutely livid over a situation with this location tonight. I placed an order at 6:35pm. A new girl answered the phone and struggled a little through the order. She was sweet and nice and apologetic. I had no problem knowing she was new. She told me they were slammed and my order would be delivered in 1 hour 20 mins. I was fine with that. At 9pm I realized I had no Order, I called in and the new girl answered. She found out she put my order under pickup instead of delivery, she was extremely apologetic and her manager was telling her what to do and say. They said they would redeliver. I hung up and decided to call back and cancel. The manager Emily answered the phone I Cancelled my order and she said ok thanks. I was so upset I had to call back. I am a manager of a retail location. If a new hire makes a mistake you own it and you help the customer anyway you can. I called and told Emily she should have a. Taken the phone and apologized and fixed it. Fix it by delivering immediately, and giving some money off or even free. B. she should have been apologetic when I called back to cancel. C. I have never ordered from them and never will. Not because of someone's mistake but the lack of management after the fact. After telling her all this, I was not loud and I was very respectful, her answer....OK and then hung up. Are you serious??!?!?! How is this person a manager? Do not order here, someone that hires such poor management on probably the busiest night of the week (Friday) is not someone I want to support.

Consistently tales 1-1.5 hours for delivery. Not worth the wait. Pizza isn't bad but the delivery service is the worst I've ever experienced. I was quoted 45 minutes. After an hour I called and they said "we only have 1 driver, its going to be at least another 25 minutes". I went and picked it up instead. Horrible business practices. They have me a different story when I got ere that the driver left and they thought he had my order and he left without it. They should've called me after and hour to let me know. Ordering was even more of a challenge, over 20 minutes to place in order, the lady working there obviously was brand new and had no training. Would rather give my $20 (way overpriced pizza) to someone else.

I just waited an hour and 20 min for a 2.5mi (maybe!!!) delivery and the pizza wasn't even room temp...it was cold. I called at the 1hr point and they said it was on its way. I also ordered cheesecake for the first time, which came in a container that, when I got it, resembled pure smeared mush...nothing close to cheesecake. I will never order from here again. When I called to complain they offered $5 off my next service...which wouldn't even cover the coat of my cheesecake.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Single slices don't take long to come out, but they are mediocre at best. I could definitely tell the chicken came out of the freezer. Probably won't come back, but it wasn't the worst choice I've made.
(2)F B.
Usually this is my go to place for NY style because it's always been pretty decent, but tonight was another story. It was paper thin, I mean literally falling apart and hardly any cheese which is kind of why you eat pizza. It looked like someone just threw it together in 2 minutes. Take some pride in your job, people. This was total slop tonight! I took a picture. Get your act together over there or we won't be back!

Was very disappointed in this after reading all the reviews. I ordered the baked ziti and my husband ordered chicken Alfredo. My baked ziti was a bowl of overcooked noodles and tomato sauce topped with cheese. The noodles were so overcooked you couldn't stab them with a fork without them breaking in two. It was very weird to me that it also contained no meat. I've never had baked ziti before with just noodles and sauce. Very disappointing. This "baked" ziti tasted like day old noodles some sauce and nuked melted cheese. The chicken Laredo however was rich and creamy and great. The chicken was dry as dry could be. Sauce and the noodles were excellent. The side of bread with it had very good flavor but was overcooked and too hard for us. Location was clean, people were friendly, just don't get the pasta here.

What does one need during a monsoon??? Why of course you need pizza, that wonderful comfort food that seems right for any occasion. I was out an about when the storm started and needed both temporary shelter and some sustenance because it was getting late. There was only one thing I could think I wanted being late and on my way home.. Anthony's! This location is smaller compared to the others in the region, but always is packed when I stop by. Tonight was no exceptions. The oven was humming and the phones were ringing. I opted for just a few slices to go. The nice young man at the register placed my order and informed me that there was going to be just a short wait as there was a fresh pie coming out of the oven in just a little bit. This is another place I have found that cures my craving for east coast pizza and is always consistent. Big foldy slices and great ingredients remind me of home. I prefer my pizza on the just cheese side most of the time. If it's bad, no amount of toppings will change that. They do have a large selection of other Italian favorites from salad to pastas, subs and even wonderful things on the sweeter side. If you've not experienced Anthony's it's certainly worth a stop in.

Oh Wow, what can I say about this place, but they are a bunch of thugs that are really weak and vulnerable. I was called and harassed by the staff of this resturanant one night for about 2 hours, they called my cell 14 times in that 2 hour time span and never spoke except the first time when I could hear them all in the background. I dare them do that again! Then the franchise owner contacts me the next day, speaks with the employee that was calling me, and the calls stopped and well I have no proof since they were all from a blocked number on my cell - even AT&T cannot track them - so he considers it just a coincidence, right well I can assure all of you that I never get phone calls at 11:30 pm on Sunday nights especially 14 in a row. So beyond that we chatted he said his store was in the wrong for not delivering to me at the time I had called, then I had to endure the phone calls and he DID NOTHING TO COMPENSATE ME! Then he called in Big Bro, well big bro is the president of Anthony's Pizza so he called me and was just an angry guy and I am not that way unless I have a reason to be, and I thought the whole thing was over until I get this phone call. I honestly have a phone call of the President of Anthony's Pizza threatening me. Threatening to take things to "another level" he never specifies what that level is but he is comfortable taking it there. I was afraid for my life at one point, I did call the Denver Police Department. I believe these people are wacko and need some business help because I can smell Big Bills New York Pizza Getting Bigger and Bigger, plus Big Bills is Better... Big Bills is the Best Pizza in Denver in my opinion!

Worst pizza ive had in denver yet! That should not be called pizza. #visualfiberknowspizza

oh mah gawd, if their pizza wasn't good, we wouldn't order from this place. The service is bad. Like Bull N Bush bad.
(3)Rhianna K.
I've ordered from here about 6 times and they've literally messed up my order every single time. Placing an order makes me feel like I'm calling a radio station to win a contest, it takes so many attempts to get through. I wouldn't order from here unless you plan on picking up in person. You will likely wait 2+ hours only to end up with the wrong pizza. Half sausage and jalapeño, half pepperoni really shouldn't be that hard. This place is seriously a joke. It's almost laughable, except you won't be laughing when you are starving. Giving 2 stars because the pizza is good, but not worth the hassle it takes to get it.
(2)Aries L.
Since moving out to Denver, didn't really know any good pizza places (not really a fan of the big chain spots). Did a google search and found this place. One thing I don't like is wasting money so I was really hoping that it was worth it. So glad I decided to order from them. Had it delivered and the person I spoke to was super friendly, even the delivery guy was nice. Definitely my go to pizza place. Good sauce too lol.
(4)Randall E.
We liked the food. Delivery was about an hour from call. I expect that. But the food was luke warm to cold. Called. Got 10% off. But when I think about it, 10% doesn't make-up for a cold dinner that was $25 for a pie.
(2)Dylan L.
After working just across the street from this place for almost a year, I finally decided to go in and check this place out. It's a quaint little place that goes for the traditional Italian setup with the green booths and red/white checkerboard table clothes. TVs in the corner show ESPN so you can catch the Top 10 Plays while you chow down. The staff is nice and helpful, no problems there. Here's my "beef" with this place-the prices are really pretty absurd for what you're getting. I ordered two slices (1 cheese, 1 pepperoni) and a fountain drink....it came out to $10! Maybe I'm crazy but $10 for 2 slices and a drink is pretty crazy. Back when Fughedabowdits still existed, you could get the same thing for half that price, and it was better pizza. The pizza itself wasn't too bad, but nothing to write home about and certainly not worth $4 for a slice. The cheese was a little greasy and rubbery, but the crust and sauce were good. So unfortunately, I was a little turned off by this place because of their prices-if I do go back, it'll be once in a blue moon and because I can walk there.
(3)Lindsey R.
if the pizza here wasn't so amazing there is absolutely no way I would ever come back here! it is so sad that you have to go through such horrible customer service just to get something you can sit down and enjoy with your family. I have never had to deal with so such impolite people it is absolutely ridiculous! if only they could get better employees that actually cared about their customers this place would be at the top of the liSt! please please try to change this, since your pizza is great! It really makes such a difference! not only are the people answering the phone so rude and impolite that by the time your order actually gets to your home, its either not warm at all or half of the order isn't even there! If that doesn't say it all, I don't know what would..
(1)Jeff E.
Food was great. The only problem is that they were swamped so underestimated the wait time for pick up. When I showed up they were apologetic and offered me a free drink while I waited. Good Pizza. Higher Priced. Ask for well done.
(4)Josh A.
I always order take out, but I feel like ordering by slice tastes much better than ordering a whole. I feel like ordering a whole pan changes the overall consistency of the pizza. Anyway, the guys there are friendly and the pizza is good.
(4)Elisabeth C.
I'm not sure what their pizza is like, because instead of ordering for delivery I sat on hold three separate times for a total of 18 minutes. The first time the counter girl put me on hold for 8 minutes, the second time for 5 minutes, and then I waited ten minutes to call back only to be put on hold for another 5 minutes- when I just decided to give up. Obviously they're so busy on a Tuesday night at 7.30pm that they can afford to lose a customer. We just moved from Chicago, and I've never had a pizza place, no matter how insanely busy, put someone on hold so many times for so long. So, as they say in New York: forget about it.
(1)Cody H.
It's a little expensive but it's well worth it!! I went there on my lunch break and it was delicious.
(5)Robert W.
This place has changed for the worse. What was once a nice, relaxed pizza joint has become too corporate-alized to the point that it's just not the same. First off, the atmosphere is way too stuffy. They got rid of the comfortable chairs and arcade games and instead stuck with a place that looks like the other "me too" joints in the city -- which is disappointing. They lost whatever personality they had months before. Secondly, I'm not sure what happened to the food. I used to come in all the time for the white cheese pizza slices and they really went down in quality. Too much oil, not enough cheese, and simply not enough time in the oven -- it's like I was drinking my slice instead of eating it. And finally, they had too many unruly customer types in there who were being disruptive. For a place that was trying to go for an upper level of class, they came nowhere close here. And one guy continued to yell while the staff did absolutely nothing about it. I live close to this place and used to go all the time, but until they change back to the way they were -- which they won't -- they won't see my business. Avoid.

Absolute rip off! The first time I ordered several months ago my delivery order took nearly 2 hours, I was shorted 1 pie and over charged by another. Spoke with the manager and he assured me it would be taken care of next business day. It was. This last time, just a few days ago, I called in a delivery order at 11:04, 4 minutes after their posted opening time. I ordered, for delivery, 2 pizzas, a calzone and an order of garlic bread. Was told it would take an hour, ok, fine. I paid via a gift card, a $50 gift card that, knowing 20% must be retained for tip, told the lady to run it for $40 even and then I placed the remainder of my balance onto another credit card. When the driver arrived, nearly 2 hours later 12:47pm, I gave him a large cash tip. Food was luke warm at best. I didn't lodge a complaint, that was just the last straw. Here's the kicker...knowing I had $10 balance remaining on my gift card, I attempted to use it the next day for a $3.22 purchase at a convenience store. It came back declined, curious I called to find out my balance. Someone at the restaurant charged an additional $8 to that card for a tip leaving me $2 on my card. Stay clear of this place!

We've been going to this Anthony's with a group most every Tuesday night for over 7 years. There are usually 5-8 of us and until tonight, we've been pretty happy there. Tuesday nights they have a great special- $1.75 beers and $1.75 cheese slices. Their pitchers hold about 4 beers and so appropriately we've always been charged $7 per pitcher. Likewise pizzas have 8 slices and we've always paid $14. There's a big painted sign advertising the special, it's been there forever. Tonight we were charged $12 for a pitcher and $16 for an 8 slice pie. When we asked for the special, we were rudely told that there were no specials. We kindly pointed out that 4 x $1.75 = $7 and $8 x $1.75 =$14. Neither of the 2 young women working the counter got it. I pointed to the sign and asked why they weren't doing the special anymore. One them was annoyed and told me "I've only worked here for a month, I don't know about any specials". We were stunned. When she brought the pizza, she dropped it on the table, tossed the paper plates and walked away. Wow. There are a lot of choices when dining out. We'll be looking for a new place to gather.
(1)Jon P.
Anthony's pizza is really, really good. The sauce is very tasty and the crust is delicious. It's hard to find good pizza in Denver, but this place is excellent. Don't waste your money on big chain cardboard pizza, buy local and get a quality product.
(5)Jonathan E.
Ask for the chicken and pineapple pizza. It is incredible
(5)Mark T.
Lately, it seems like every pizza joint is bending over backwards to play "Can You Top This?" (no pun intended) in terms of the varieties they offer. You can get apparently endless combinations of meat (or lack thereof), veggies, sauces, crusts and cheeses. But me? Sometimes, I like to go back to basics. When that urge hits, I want a nice, big, floppy slice, so wide I have to fold it, and so greasy I could spend half an hour blotting it and still get nowhere. At times like these my mind drifts to a place right near me. Anthony's bills itself as New York Style, and boy, do they mean it! Their crusts are wheaty, dense and chewy, their sauces are spicy and slow-simmered, their cheeses are springy and stringy, and their toppings are all impeccably fresh. The Scampi pizza, available only on Fridays and consisting of a white-sauce pie with plump, juicy shrimp, is pleasantly simple, yet powerfully tasty. You won't find any frou-frou creations at Anthony's - fuhgeddaboudit! But you will find a great tasting pie. (While you're there, try their Cheese Sticks too - but maybe just a half-order for your heart's sake, m'kay?)

This is my first 5 star for one item and one item only: Scampi Pizza Fridays! This is my love letter for Scampi. OK, I'm Jewish, so I don''t know much about Catholicism. Wasn't there a time when Catholics ate fish on Friday? In my fantasy world, I attribute the existence of Scampi Fridays to this factoid. Since moving from Long Island to Denver 17 years ago, I went on a hunt for the best NY style pizza in Denver. My journey led me to Tonti's Lil Ricci's, Armando's, Famous, and Anthony's. I've lived in SE Denver all this time, so the Anthony's on E. Dartmouth has been my default go-to place. One Friday, I saw they had something called Scampi White Pizza. Having lived on the White whilst living in White Plains, I thought, "Why not?" Think thin crust, with a crackly crisp edge, the occasional bubble protruding. The pie is devoid of tomato, adorned with a combination of cheese, and the coup de gras: butterflied shrimp sauteed scampi style. Add garlic, and I'm done. For this review, nothing else matters about this place. No ambience, service, garlic knot, salad, what have you. It's about the Scampi.
(5)Megan T.
I normally love Anthony's but was severely disappointed when our pizza hadn't arrived in over an hour and twenty minutes. A lady from Anthony's calls me and says the driver was waiting for over 20 minutes for me. I had never received a call and he was back at the store when she was calling. The driver was arguing with her when she told him to bring back the pizza. After listening to them go back and forth I ultimately cancelled my order.... Severely disappointed Anthony's, you lost a customer.
(1)Dan N.
In college we'd hit up the location on Evans by DU for slices and a cold beer. Perhaps my palate was different, perhaps my expectations lower. I don't know - I love the concept, the place is clean and the delivery fast considering how busy they are. But the pizza itself... Well, it's better than the national chains. However Denver is finally home to many GREAT pizza and Italian joints. Lucanda Del Borgo on Holly St has, for the same $12 or so, a pie that is just unbelievably better. And in the same vein as Anthony's as far as dive/classic pizza joint, Enzo's End just kills it.
(2)Kaori T.
Oh my gosh! I can't really say anything about the food because I didn't get to order. The girl on the phone put me on the hold 4 times! Even after giving her my address she was asking me how to get here.... Um Map Quest or GPS!! And ended up refering me to another store "that's the one you are closer to" I'm not even 5 min away!
(1)Danielle B.
We like this place. The pizza is delicious. We always order it crispy. The subs aren't great. I like that this pizza place has a dine in area that feels like a real restaurant. We have had it delivered once and it did take a long time.
(4)Ricky A.
Way to much grease and sour mozarella, not the kind of pizza I like.

If you're from the northeast, read on... I'm from the east coast and understand what it means to have great pizza. Since moving to Denver I've been searching for great pizza since pizza is a staple of anyone from the northeast. This is a place that has decent pizza. The size of the large pie is rather big and slice size requires you to fold each piece. The crust has a decent hand tossed thickness to it and feels pretty good in your hand. By looks alone the pizza makes me feel like I could be at a pizza joint back east. The pizza feels a bit flat when you bite into it, but I think I'm finding that this everywhere I go here. I assume it has to do with the altitude rather than this pizza place not knowing how to make decent pizza. Still, the pizza is not as flat as others that I've had here (and I'm not comparing it to think crust pizza). The balance of tomato sauce to cheese is actually very good, but something is a little off because it is very greasy. This could be a major no-no for you--It just depends on how much grease you're not willing to eat on that particular pizza eating experience. While not nearly as good as some of the pizza back east, I'm not sure that it is going to get any better because of the altitude and the water here. Overall, this is one of the better pizzas that I've had in Denver.
(4)Amy W.
This is our favorite Anthony's location. The pick up times are exact and always ready to pick up. Even dining in is a nice experience, but get there early as the crowds can come in quickly. I love their anti-pasta salad. The fold over pepperoni pizza is our standard favorite, but they also make an excellent meatball and Hawaiian style pizza. Perfect pricing for great pizza.
(4)Michael C.
Great delivery time to Childrens Hospital. Under 20 minutes!
(4)Chris L.
well well well I found decent pizza in Denver and in fact im probably ditching all the major pizza chains now that ive found this place. I like it because the dough is thin not thick or medium like at every other place. There was alot of pepperoni and the cheese and sauce were just right. Now the bad part and why this place probably wont get 5 stars and based on what other people said. Dont call for delivery it will take over an hour probably or your stuck on the phone on hold. So my advice call to pick-up or eat there
(4)Elaine M.
Since moving from New York to Aurora in 2000, I had searched high and low for the closest pizza to NY Pizza. I found Anthony's! This is my favorite Anthony's location. Their times are exact for pickup. Usually, I call for pickup and have never had to wait more than 3 minutes after arriving to pickup. They truly know how to make a calzone too! The calzones are a good size for the money and made to perfection, just like I remember from NY. When I order a pizza, sometimes I have odd requests such as put canadian bacon on 1/2 of the pie, then when it's out of the oven, I'd like sliced tomatoes on top of the 1/2 with the bacon. My order is ALWAYS correct. The crew working at this Anthony's location are always nice to me and friendly. So ... I rate them with 5 stars for quality of the food I have ordered and for their customer service. You all ROCK!
(5)Arlyn C.
I don't know what it is, but I LOVE their pizza! Thin crust, great flavor, cheesy, large slices.. I always order the same mushroom pizza and garden salad. Best pizza in Colorado I've had so far!

Great delivery time to Childrens Hospital. Under 20 minutes!

well well well I found decent pizza in Denver and in fact im probably ditching all the major pizza chains now that ive found this place.

It's a little expensive but it's well worth it!! I went there on my lunch break and it was delicious.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Single slices don't take long to come out, but they are mediocre at best. I could definitely tell the chicken came out of the freezer. Probably won't come back, but it wasn't the worst choice I've made.

(2)Dan P.

(1)Lisa V.

We liked the food. Delivery was about an hour from call. I expect that. But the food was luke warm to cold. Called. Got 10% off. But when I think about it, 10% doesn't make-up for a cold dinner that was $25 for a pie.

(1)Christina R.

(1)Cynthia B.
(3)Kaori T.
(1)Arlyn C.
I don't know what it is, but I LOVE their pizza! Thin crust, great flavor, cheesy, large slices.. I always order the same mushroom pizza and garden salad. Best pizza in Colorado I've had so far!
